I say this because there were talks of there being one a couple years back with Taron Egerton as Seymour, Scarlett Johansson as Audrey, and Chris Evans as Orin, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Personally, I don’t think another movie is necessary seeing as the 1986 movie is the definition of perfection in my eyes. But it would be nice to stir up conversation and introduce new audiences to Little Shop similar to what the Wicked movie did. It could also serve as another chance to give us the original ending we’ve been craving for as I’m sure general audiences would be more open to it nowadays and would in fact love to see it. Of course there is the director’s cut, but you’d be surprised at the amount of people who aren’t aware of the dark ending’s existence, even though it’s the only one ever done on stage. And for me at least, the more Little Shop content, the merrier.

But at the same time, the cast we were gonna get didn’t exactly spark my interest at the time and still doesn’t, particularly Scarlett Johansson as Audrey. I know she can sing but she’s not exactly what I think of when I think of Audrey. Like she’s Black Widow, not Judy Holliday, ya know? (she may have surprised us tho who knows) And the likely chance of getting a CGI Audrey II in modern Hollywood is lame compared to practical effects.

What do you guys think tho? Any thoughts?
