I couldn't help but notice that when Crowley points out Jim is Gabriel the others are looking at his face but beelzebub is glancing down and they even lean back a little bit. Like...sweetheart, his face is about 3 feet higher and definitely not at his back.

Hyper Battle has rewired my brain, now I'm starting to ship Keiwa/Tsumuri. She takes one look at his continuously flopping ass and is just like "fuck that's kinda cute". She's gotten used to DGP contestants who survive for this long being competent and/or kinda assholes (see: Ace, Michinaga, Daichi), so seeing this way too determined boyfailiure racoon manage to last this long is somewhat of a pleasant surprise. Three DGPs later and she dreams about kissing him under the moonlight in-between trying to manage Chirami's incompetent bullshit.

It's the same energy of that one meme where one partner epically fails or does something incredibly mundane and the other is just like "okay, now I HAVE to fuck them". I wanted govt sponsered witches MI5 style keeping the peace but we got four women just going about their lives and we learn very little about how HMRC works.

Witchy? Nah they fight like xmen. No cauldron? No spellbooks? No broomsticks? Im fine with a loosey goosey magic system but come on. Harry Potter magic made more sense than this and it at least has Vibes and Aesthetic.

Queer? I mean I guess sure 1/4 main character was queer but we could have written out her gf and it wouldn't of changed the plot. And the whole plot revolves around a trans child who is a empty husk of a character and could have been unconscious for the entire plot.

Feminist? Where? Killing your friends grandma? Letting your friend be cheated on by her husband? Deciding that the teenage girl, who just had her mother executed, is going be your enemy? None of these women are a girls' girl.

There's one Black protag (and yes she's the lesbian too lets shove the diversity points into one person hey) and she talks about hating white women to the point it feels like and act of self flagellation by the author. This is the character she whispers into the ear of saying "i know im a trans woman but i still benefit from white privilege" and its egregious. Instead of learning more about the coven she set up for diverse witches we see her randomly accuse an Albanian guy at the ice-cream shop of being a drug dealer for no reason 🙃

Author spends so much time and energy being in conversation with with JKRs twitter feed she forgot to write a compelling story.

It just sucks because I agree generally with the politics of the author and I wanted to like this so much but Im unwilling to rate it anything above a 3 at best.
