Enough Caffeine to Kill an Elephant
Listen. It was an accident. He didn't mean to! It just kinda happened.
So maybe he brought a drink with enough caffeine in it to kill an elephant within a few minutes, and maybe he forgot to put the sleeve on his cup so he could tell it apart from the others, but it's not his fault! He didn't think anyone else was going to have the exact same Yeti cup as him! It's not like he'd seen any of the others carry one before. Besides, he worked with superheros. They should be smart enough to check before drinking someone else's drink.
Danny had been summoned by the Justice League Dark a few years back in order to help with a world ending crisis and he just didn't leave. It's not like he could go anywhere anyway. His ghost half hadn't grown past fourteen and his human half had stopped visibly aging at eighteen. He'd had to leave town as Danny Fenton, but he'd stayed in Amity Park as Danny Phantom. When his parents died of old age, thank god, he'd closed down the portal, stuck around for a few more years, before traveling the world as Danny Fenton.
Anyway, he'd taken up residence in the House of Mysteries after the JLD had summoned him. Constantine, at first, had been wary, but he and the rest of the JLD had grown to accept him. He was an honorary member of the team.
At some point, just after Robin had become Red Robin, Danny had been introduced to the Justice League. He liked those guys, too, and worked with them sometimes. Though, he usually only went to bug them.
Red Robin had been very interested in the fact that his was fourteen and working with grown heros, like he was one to talk, but Danny hadn't explained anything other than saying that he had died and come back. The following conversation was an interesting one that lead to Danny knowing that Nightwing was the Batman he'd met and that Batman was lost somewhere. He'd confirmed that the man was not dead, but he hadn't offered to help look for him. He probably should have, in retrospect.
Back on topic! Everyone in the JLD knew not to touch Danny's drink. They'd all seen him make it before and had been horrified on varying degrees. It's not like it could kill him. He's already half dead! So long as he only drank this specific brew as Phantom, he'd be fine.
The Justice League, apparently, didn't get the memo. He blames Constantine because Zatanna and Raven can do no wrong. No, John, he's not biased.
The point is, Red Robin just had a sip of Danny's drink. The horror he now felt was akin to the fear he held when he'd told his parents he was Phantom. (An interaction that had gone very well, thank you very much.)
Danny knew the exact moment that the vigilante realized he grabbed the wrong drink. His eyes widened to an astonishing degree, and, if he'd been able to seen his eyes behind the mask, Danny knew that the man's pupils would've completely overtaken the irises. His hands started shaking, too. Oh, no. The man's already addicted to hellish amounts of coffee. This is only going to make it worse!
Quickly, and without drawing any attention, thank the Ancients, Danny rushed over. "You, um, you okay, man?" Obviously not, but he tends to talk when he's anxious and he was certainly anxious right now. He could've possibly just killed a man via poison!
"What the fuck is in this coffee?" Red Robin asked, going to take another sip.
Danny pulled the Yeti from his hand and gave him the proper one. "Enough caffeine to kill an elephant."
"Obviously not, seeing as I'm still alive."
"Yeah, I can't tell if that's a good thing or not."
"Excuse me?"
"I-I mean-! I didn't-! You know what I mean." Caffeine is poisonous in excess, and his drink was way beyond excess, but it's the only thing that works for him as a ghost! Superpowered metabolism and all that.
"Do I?" The laugh in his voice answered for him. He took a sip from his drink and frowned at it. "I don't think any coffee will ever be enough again."
"And that's my cue to get my drink very far away from you." Danny turned, fully intent on moving to the other side of the room. Besides, the meeting was going to start as soon as the Flash and Kid Flash arrived, which would be soon. Something about one of their Rouges getting out?
"What?" Red Robin asked, "Why?" If he was a little desperate to get another sip of that coffee, he'd rather not acknowledge it.
"Because you don't need anymore lethal coffee," he muttered, "The sip you took will already keep you awake for three days at least, and it probably jump started an addiction. Best to stop it now. Besides, I need to go have my crisis on how the hell you're still alive after even a sip of this stuff."
"Again, rude." The bird themed vigilante crossed his arms as best he could while holding his cup. "If it's so dangerous, why do you drink it?"
Danny took a deliberate sip as he locked eyes with the technically younger man. "I'm dead. I don't need to worry about my heart stopping or having a seizure."
"Excuses."
"No, it's not 'excuses'. I'm saving your life."
"You're a kid. If I can't have that coffee, then you shouldn't be having it."
"First, I'm older than you. Second, I already told you: I'm dead. This isn't going to hurt me. Third, you can't tell me what to do."
"There's no way you're older than me. You're like, ten."
"I'm thirty-eight!" He balked, "I only look fourteen because I died when I was fourteen. We've been over this."
Neither noticed the entire Justice League looking at them. The two they were waiting on had arrived a few minutes ago and everyone was ready to start the meeting, but they'd been distracted by the two's conversation. Was that true? Had Phantom really died so young? They'd all been made aware he was not living, but they didn't think he'd died so young! Though, that was probably the denial speaking.
The Justice League Dark had been fully aware of this and didn't really bat an eye. Though, someone should probably get this meeting started. A potentially world ending threat was the topic, and that was a pretty important thing to discuss.
Captain Marvel was the first to pull himself together, though that was only after Atlas and Zeus had mentally slapped him out of his stupur. "As, ah, riveting as this conversation is," he stepped between the two boys- er, boy and man? "we really need to start this meeting."
Batman did not clear his throat because he'd not lost his voice in the first place. "He's right. Everyone take your seats."

justin 😭😭😭 my babyyy
#the way i would have legit melted down at this 😭#public speaking is my worst fear#i can literally see justin having a mini anxiety attack up there 😭😭😭#in my mind he's staring directly at ja'marr and joe BEGGING for help#so many thoughts on how the original lsu trio all have their shy introverted sides (and probably all prefer to stay like that)#but developed an outgoing socializing mask at lsu with the other two#because forcing yourself to be uncomfortable is part of growing up and isn't that what they did at lsu? grow up together?#joe's very obviously introverted and i've talked a lot about how meeting justin at lsu brought ja'marr out of his shell#bu i also think justin has that same quiet side#like he did an interview after his extension where he was like 'i like being alone and at home and that's why minny's perfect for me'#which doesn't fit what a lot of people think when they think of justin jefferson#we talk so much about perfect pr-trained justin but how much does that take a toll on him?#i'm sure he does adore being the center of attention wherever he goes - but it must get exhausting sometimes huh#and he CONSANTLY talks about how he has two masks: justin (himself) and jets (jets being the flashy confident wr1 on the field)#(ok my headcanon that ja'marr gave justin the 'jets' nickname makes this just 😘)#he does like being that charismatic guy that laughs off mistakes on the prompter -but that's not who justin really is#never forget that justin was a two star recruit all scrawny with horrible grades before coming to lsu#like -i think justin brought ja'marr out of his shell but i also think ja'marr also gave justin more confidence#and he's blossomed into the guy who's constantly decked out in jewelry and isn't afraid to wear this amazing glittery suit#isn't that so beautiful? changing someone and being changed by that same someone in return?#lmao just realized i wrote a whole essay analyzing justin#disclaimer that i don't actually know these men lmao#justin jefferson

I got to thinking for some fucking reason about dispicable me and sbi. And how well a dispicable me au would work.
Phil's Gru obviously. Tommy is Agnes, Techno is Edith and Wilbur is Margo.
Phil's a supervillain, mainly he steals shit and he recently got upstaged, which won't fucking do. How dare anyone upstage the Crowfather.
So, he has to fix that, and sets his sights on something truly absurd and impressive. It can still be the moon, it cannot. Who gives a shit.
What matters is that a single guy scoping out the place is sus, so what does Phil do? He adopts three boys of varying ages to get into places he wouldn't be able to get into as a single man.
Found family ensues, blah blah blah you know the rest, they all live happily ever after.

Can I just bring something up about Wyll that I feel is overlooked a lot of the time? Which is that he's a little bit arrogant. He likes to boast and tell stories about his past adventures and monsters he's slain, he encourages bard song about himself. He's disappointed when the tiefling kids have heard of Karlach but not him. He does a superhero pose when he introduces himself for goodness sake!
Now don't get me wrong, he's still very much that selfless and self-sacrificing hero who wants to inspire people and wholeheartedly cares for the Sword Coast. Wyll is a good man! But that doesn't mean he's not enjoying the attention it brings. He's basically living out his childhood fantasy of being a great hero and he loves it! Despite the ugly parts of it.
People also like to see Wyll as someone who's saving himself for marriage, which I definitely can see, but as I said, he revels in the attention, and I honestly don't believe he's above spending the night with some maiden he picked up in a tavern during his travels, from time to time. In game lf you have him in your party together with Shadowheart and Lae'zel he'll openly flirt with both of them. In front of the other.
Now do I believe part of it is an act? That the Blade of Frontiers is a sort of persona he puts on to inspire bravery, or because he feels like he needs to? Yes. Does that mean it's all fake? No.

Hello ms bubble wizard mage maam', I was just wondering what are your thoughts on magolor regarding how he's apparently **highly aware** of all characters to ever exist in the kirbyverse
Also its become a trend where god is replaced with NOVA in the expressions... Do they know?
Ello ello!
I like Magolor a lot, but he is omniscient? That's news to me. Is there a source for that? :O Unless you're talking about that Magoverse trend I saw floating around a while back- I didn't see much but what I did encounter reminded me of all the different Sans Undertale AUs out there. Hehehe Magolor is quite versatile! What fun.
And I know people use Nova as an expletive when writing Kirby characters! It's cool!
I use profanity in real life but I personally try to not associate Kirby characters with it in the works I make. I want to diversify the vernacular of the citizens of Popstar so I made a small list of expletives I thought of, lol. They should have a variety of things to yell out when they stub their feet or an apple falls on their head! So I get randomly inspired out in the world and I make sure to write them down!
Tumblr media
I remember seeing someone have the characters use expletives based on food, like for example, "For the love of shortcake!" or things like that. That idea's fun!! (If you are the person who had this headcanon and are reading this please tell me so I can credit you for it!)
Does anyone else have expletives/exclamations they write for Kirby characters? Please share them if you do heehee. It makes the world building feel more fleshed out and creative >:3

here's the thing. yes, some pieces of art are "better" than others. there are many criteria you can measure that with--technical skill, creativity, clarity, conceptual depth, successful execution of the artist's intentions, etc., and i do think it's useful to clarify which ones you're using as a measuring stick. but like, of course you can evaluate art. of course you can be critical (in the "art critic" sense) of art. (among other things, that's one of the most important ways to get better at making art yourself.)
however. when it comes down to evaluating what gets to count as art. what art even gets to have a seat at the table. i will go to bat for the thing that isn't as "good" every single time.
you can say you think a piece of art is bad. you can say you think it lacked technical skill, or clarity, or conceptual depth, and you consider those important elements of a successful work. i might even agree with you. but if you think that means it doesn't matter, someone is going to die on this hill and it isn't going to be me

I've always been fascinated by fandom history, and I know I'm not the only one. It's interesting to see how fans of pop culture can create a culture of their own, and in the modern age of social media and the internet in general, that culture is as widespread as ever. Unfortunately, that also means downsides are becoming bigger as this culture becomes widespread, and it's saddening to watch, maybe even concerning.
I don't discuss these things to be preachy, especially considering how I've fallen into several of these pitfalls before, and have perpetuated some of this behavior in the past. To say otherwise would make me a hypocrite and a liar, and I firmly believe this goes for most people in any fandom. I was just thinking about this recently, and how a lot of the biggest stressors in what should be our stress relief really can be pinned mostly into a few central talking points, which I would love to discuss to know if I'm not just going crazy here
The concept of Big Name Fan has evolved into a position of authority on fandom, which does not fall to anyone regarding subjectivity. No one in a fandom is an authority except the creators themselves, who have every right to stay away from the fandoms they have birthed.
Popularity in general being conflated to intellectual authority as well, especially on websites with public stats, particularly following counts. The algorithm is no benevolent god, but people will sometimes see someone with 30k followers and think they are correct on a minor non-issue that has spiraled into discourse, especially when compared to someone with 30 followers. This also is just...a bummer when fanon evolves into perceived canon, and newcomers to the fandom can't post even innocuous meta or headcanons without it being perceived as morally/intellectually incorrect.
Monetization of fanworks, but especially zines, have led to a hypercompetitive atmosphere that only escalates the bitterness and resentment. This is not a universal problem, but many zines across all fandoms habitually accept the same artists and writers, or diminish the value of fanfic due to the limitations of physical printing. The application process has devolved into such a disheartening debacle for a majority of people I see, and the way it is often framed as "your work just wasn't good enough" when it's really about what the mods deem mass marketable will destroy just about anyone's self-esteem after repetitive rejections, and will give some frequent zine runners a false sense of final say over the community (not usually, but it can happen).
The level of distrust for anyone new attempting to start a fan project is just so depressing nowadays (and this one we sadly can blame on a few people by name, but the ones who have sent this issue spiraling still don't care and that just sucks. I feel horrible for everyone who has been tricked).
Somehow comment and anonymous asks have gone backwards from "don't feed the trolls" to "suck it up, at least you're getting comments." I have seen some of these comments people have been told to suck up. It's not okay in general. It's particularly gross when it's an anonymous hate message unrelated to the fanworks themselves, perhaps born out of resentment or bearing an ulterior motive. And some will even attack and defame character due to identity. It's not subtle. It's not okay. People should absolutely be dunked on for this, and I gotta say I'm sick of unsolicited concrit being enforced as positive either. If they didn't ask, don't give it. There's a reason a lot of fic writers some people adore suddenly go ghost, and they can't even talk about it.
Don't like, don't read has been discarded in favor of don't like, tell others don't read and also don't write. Transformative works don't have to fit into a canon or even in character mold. That's why they're transformative! It's a different type of artistic expression. If you don't like it, chances are good it simply wasn't meant for you. It's not bad. Don't shame others, god especially not for non-issues such as a t/b preference or a different gender hc, preferred haircuts, types of animal you imagine them as in another lifetime, I could list literally anything here and I bet there has been a fandom fight over it.
Exclusive yet publicly advertised community Discords that will bar you from invite if you're not one of the cool kids. I have unfortunately fallen into this trap before, and refuse to ever enable or endorse that behavior ever again. This isn't about friend groups either, it's about fandom-dedicated servers that flaunt themselves as a VIP club instead of what they are: a friend group. I also don't even know how to broach the subject of private accounts that turn into fandom tea accounts with dozens if not hundreds of followers, only for people to be angry if someone isn't exactly okay with horrific stuff being said in general, let alone about their mutuals or friends.
I know none of this will likely ever change, and tbh i'm so tired of it all, but...does anyone else know what I mean? I'm stressed out whenever I try to enjoy myself, because popularity and a strange business mindset is steadily taking over fandom spaces. I'm not saying people should stop trying to make stuff that sells, or that people universally do any of this, but fandom is evolving into a thing I'm not sure is good. idk anymore

I was thinking about the Early Zephyr AU that exists and hello, I am going to OT6 it a little bit.
So, Hiccstrid happens, yeah, but... so does the OT6, but there's a lag between Astrid sleeping with Hiccup and Astrid sleeping with the rest of the Riders by enough time that Astrid's fairly certain the baby is Hiccup's. And Hiccup's more than willing to do the honorable/right thing and claim it as his, regardless.

Me: *staring at a wip that I've had open all year, meticulously working on it, editing, and smoothing out the wrinkles* Ah, yes, it should be done soon!
Also Me: I need to rewrite the entire plot of this chapter. It works better this way. I literally cannot leave the plot how it has been these past 11 months. *throws a year's worth of work into the digital void*
I am banging my head on a wall. WHY IS IT LIKE THIS

Okay, some things about Clara. I've seen a lot of posts and tweets and stuff pointing out Clara's retirement from acting after marriage, and assuming the song might lean to that angle. I just want to say that I think there's A LOT behind the reasons of her retirement, it's not just marriage. Clara Bow was the IT girl of the roaring 20s, but she never, N E V E R , E V E R, got recognized, like, when you watch old documentaries about the flapper ladies & screen godesses of the 1920s, if that docu was made before New Hollywood era, you won't find Clara in it. They just erased her. She hailed from the poorest area of New York and had such a fucked-up childhood, yet she was so carefree and just living her life. And she was just the best actress. She was so popular at that time that media would write anything about her. She was painted by the tabloids as a "slut!", and even her maidens and assisstants were snitching to the tabloids about what men she was sleeping with at night. Being such a vivacious young woman, Clara went down with the narrative and even wrote a "confession" piece on a magazine about her flings with Victor Fleming, Gilbert Roland and Gary Cooper. Her image was badly smeared over those years. And then talking pictures era came upon Hollywood, she's an excellent silent film actress but when it comes to talking pictures she just didn't like it. She hated filming talking pictures. In the meantime she wasn't very lucky in her lovelife, her assisstants and lawyers had been skimming money from her, and her mental problems (and drinking problem, lets be honest) were getting worse. Hence the erasure. She was not pretty for the glamours Hollywood anymore. imo her retirement was mainly attributed to her mental problems (before marriage) and career downfall. The marriage is more like a tunnel exit for her. She got married in a RUSH and got the hell out. Later, she briefly made a comeback for a while, but it did not go well. Her mental illness finally got to her and led her to a tragic ending. I can see why Taylor resonates with Clara and her story, they have so many similar experiences. From Blank Space to Nothing New, from Castles Crumbling to I Did Something Bad, from dorothea to champagne problems…I see Clara in so many of her songs. I love that it's the last track on the standard album. Taylor being the "IT girl" in the 2020s is the perfect parallel of Clara was in the 1920s. I've got a feeling that Clara Bow could be a Timeless -ish song, I would like to assume that she's talking about how the society treats a female superstar and things haven't changed much. Is marriage a way out? Does she want it? Can the society endure her success for another year? Can the man endure her success? How would people remember her 100 years from now?

she knew the sort of work she was getting into. it was the sort of work she wanted to get out of, once upon a time -- and sometimes still. it isn't just the politics or the monotony of paperwork or the driving all over creation. it isn't even the late hours because chiyo can handle that. she can handle a lot.
but chiyo's never been good with death.
oddly enough, it's kind of the reason she decided to become a manager rather than leave sorcery behind. just a student who had no hope of saving her teammate from their fate but wanted to try anyway ( desperately, recklessly ), it was chiyo's manager who pulled her back, who saved her from a meaningless death. she hated them for it at first, thought them cowardly, blamed them for her friend's death. they couldn't have known what would happen. maybe chiyo could have saved them. maybe...
there wasn't any " maybe, " and chiyo knew it from the start. she just didn't want to accept it. her manager made the tough decision, the right decision, and she saved chiyo's life. she couldn't stop thinking about it during graduation. still can't. she feels some sort of responsibility to be that person for the next generation, maybe even for her colleagues. chiyo can handle a lot. she can make the tough decisions.
chiyo's never been good with death, but she'll pretend she is for them. she'll endure it all for them. that is who she is in this life -- the one who endures.
Tumblr media
additional notes
though chiyo doesn't have an innate technique, she can hold her own against lower grade curses with cursed tools and her preferred shikigami. she never believed she would get far as a sorcerer, so rather than hone her craft as an adult, she chose to become a manager. she's been doing this since graduation.
that being said, if your muse is a sorcerer, there's a good chance she's probably been in charge of their assignments. it's always an easy place to start interactions!
also keep in mind that her age puts her in school at the same time as gojo and co., though it's very fair if she fell into the background. that's how chiyo likes it anyway uvu
post-shibuya, chiyo does take to training again to avoid becoming a complete liability. the state of the world requires her to adapt, so she does. i don't really see her entering the culling games because she'd likely be more valuable outside, but i'll leave that up to how our interactions go!
hmm that's all i can think to add for the time-being, but as always, feel free to ask questions!

Right Person, Wrong Circumstances (explicit) pt 13
Anthony kissed her forehead when he pulled away, and she shivered. Her lips chased his, hands going under his shirt, caressing his firm stomach. It traced down, down his soft tummy hairs, fingers almost dancing, reaching the waistband of his underwear. She felt him took a sharp breath. He caught her hand.
He clicked his tongue before giving her a peck on the lips. "Tsk, tsk. Not until you asked me to."
She frowned.
He kissed her frown away. "Come on, love. You can do it."
She felt herself clench. She whispered, "Fuck me, Tony."
And he did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Priscilla could feel how he was holding back. It's been so long, since they'd have sex—made love—with each other. He was so gentle.
Tumblr media
But she could feel him losing control. She whispered, whined, "Tony, harder."
He bit back a groan, "No..."
"Please," she whined, "please. Please-please-please—"
And he did. He thrusted into her, grinded into her, so passionate, so deep. She could feel it so so deep.
He made her come undone many times. Made her lose her mind. Made her forget their past, made her mind go blank. Made her just think the way his thick cock would bury deep in her cunt, how his head would kiss her cervix, and now, how his fingers thrust into her, curling it in that sweet sweet spot, a knot on her belly drawn tight, almost snapping.
She let out a squeal, "Tony, tony, tony, please pleaseplease—"
Tumblr media
His grip on her hip tightened, curling his fingers faster, deeper, until her legs shivered, until she squirted into his already-wet hands, onto the bed sheets, for the nth time.
"Good," he inhaled, kissing her temple, as she let out a high-pitched moan, "good, good, my love, good."
He guided her, laid her down, brought up her knees to her chest, as he buried his cock deep inside her again.
Her eyes rolled, mouth hung open, hands gripped his hair tight as he touched their foreheads together.
He would make her come undone, again.
