I LOVE your meta! <3 can you tell me your opinion about the development of draco's and harry's feelings for each other as it was accidentally written into the story (even tho JKR clearly didn't intend for a romance)? when did you think it started for both boys? i'd be very interested to know what you think. :)
Thank you!!!! <3 What a great question. I've gotten so many good asks lately.
I don't think there was one definable moment. I think it grew between them. They were both drawn to each other in some ways right from day 1 and spent seven years paralleling and orbiting each other.
Draco tries to befriend Harry before he even knows who he is (even though Harry looks rather scruffy and surely Draco must already know the children of all the "important" Pureblood families). And then he tries again once he knows who Harry is and spends years smarting at Harry's rejection, seemingly unable to move on from it or from Harry.
He's determined to be a part of Harry's life, if not as a friend then as a rival. He can't cope with Harry's disregard and constantly seeks attention from him. Even Lucius can't stop him from openly antagonizing Harry despite cautioning Draco in book 2 that it's unwise to be so openly hostile to Harry at this point.
Meanwhile Harry constantly watches what Draco does and even dreams about him his very first night at Hogwarts. After being nearly murdered by Voldemort at the end of book 1, during the summer before his second year Harry thinks of Draco as his arch nemesis and also thinks about how he kinda misses him.
For the first 5 years they know each other, Draco's entire life revolves around Harry whereas Harry has other things that he's dealing with though he's always extremely aware of and attuned to Draco. In some ways this might lead one to think that Draco is aware of his feelings a lot earlier. But honestly I think they're both in deep denial, though I do think perhaps Draco has more of an inkling since he is the one seeking Harry out.
Still, given the sharpening lines of the war, especially from book 4 on, I think Draco knows this is something that he should not and cannot feel or pursue and he tries to tell himself it's just dislike. Especially since mortifyingly Harry despises everything he thinks he believes in.
I think Draco would be the first to admit it to himself though. Probably during 7th year, once he's started to realize how wrong he's been about so many things and once he's been forced to confront the fact that he is not and will never be the person he's supposed to be, that he hates and fears Voldemort and the Death Eater cause, and that he hopes somehow, somewhere Harry is alive and that all the whispers about him being the Chosen One are true and that he really can end this.
And maybe in that context he also starts to admit to himself that maybe he never really hated Harry after all, that maybe the whispered remarks his friends made when they were younger were true and maybe he does feel something for Harry other than disdain. And that maybe it's not just that he finds Harry's stupid messy hair and green eyes aesthetically pleasing. Maybe he actually likes him. As a person. Maybe he loves him.
By the time the war is over I think he's come come to terms with it. Harry is just another thing he's lost, his feelings for him another thing he realized far too late.
Meanwhile we know that from the end of book 6 on Harry stops thinking about Draco with rancor and instead pities and worries about him, doesn't blame him for anything, and tries to save him at every opportunity. However, Harry also has a job to do and he and Draco are on the opposite sides of a war. The reality is that nothing can come of any feelings Harry might have and 1 or both of them may very well not survive the war.
Harry compartmentalizes and shuts down all feelings he might have and all thoughts of what might have been. Especially after the Manor, when he realizes that Draco may well be tortured to death because of him, he blocks him from his mind. He can't afford to examine his feelings or he won't be able to go on. Plus, if Voldemort reads his mind it will put Draco in even more danger.
Besides, he has Ginny. Someone who is so much more acceptable to care about. Someone who symbolizes all the intangible things Harry imagines he will want after the war. I think post Manor is the closest Harry comes to really acknowledging and verbalizing to himself what he feels, but he doesn't quite get there. (Though you could also read it as Harry realizing his feelings after the Manor scene and then realizing how impossible it all is and shutting Draco out of his mind completely).
But then the war's over. Harry gets to have his relationship with Ginny. He gets to realize that somehow in the peace they don't quite click anymore. Maybe they drifted apart. Or maybe what they had wasn't that strong to begin with. He's not sure, though sometimes he remembers the way at the end of sixth year she thought he was going off to fight Voldemort because it was what would make him "happy" rather than because he felt he had to, and wonders if maybe they were never going to work out, no matter what.
And meanwhile Draco's cleaning up his life. Harry speaks for him at his trial. And somehow they find each other again in the postwar world. Because they always do. Because they haven't been able to do anything but orbit each other since they were 11. And when Harry looks at Draco he feels something. And maybe he's never really put it into words before, even to himself, but somehow it doesn't feel new at all. It feels inevitable.

Public Domain cartoon characters from Golden Age comic books
Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit going (mostly) into the public domain is a pretty big deal. In the next ten years a lot of animation from the 1930s will wind up in the hands of all artists who want to use them. But did you know there's a huge amount of cartoon characters from the 1940s that are totally free to use? It isn't just cartoons that starred on the silver screen that have fallen out of copyright. (Of course, I'm using the word "cartoon" somewhat loosely...)
See, when US copyright law was revised in 1976 and went into effect in 1978, works created before 1964 were required to have their copyright renewed before the end of 1980, or else they would become public domain. Hundreds if not thousands of Hollywood movies and other types of media had been made by studios and publishing companies that went bankrupt and were completely dissolved decades prior to this new law. This included the cartoons made by studios such as Bray, Van Beuren, and many others- but it also included comic books.
If you weren't a big comic book company like DC or Marvel, chances are you shuttered your doors sometime in the 1950s or early 1960s. And during the 1940s, with the rise in popularity of Looney Tunes, Woody Woodpecker, Tom and Jerry, and Droopy, comic book publishers were printing tons and tons of comic books starring wacky, slapstick-oriented animal characters. Most of these titles went out of copyright, and there are lots of fun and interesting characters to be found in them.
One of the most historically notable is Supermouse. When the first Mighty Mouse cartoon premiered, he was called Supermouse, but what they didn't know was that Pines comics had already taken the name, and successfully sued for copyright infringement even though they were both parodies of Superman.
One of the most interesting titles I've come across is Funny Films. The conceit of the series is that these are actually cartoons you can watch in a movie theater, except it's a comic book. A bit confusing, I know.
The end result is a series of fourth wall breaks so absolutely thorough in their scope that the fourth wall really doesn't exist anymore, barring actually jumping out of the page (or your computer screen) and blowing up your living room. They talk to the audience, jump out of the screen, and even show up late for the cartoon to start. This is of course the bookends to a whole bunch of slapstick gags and goofy dialogue.
Another interesting series, especially if you're a fan of Archie, is Hi-Jinx. They basically took the premise of teeny-boppers in high school and made them into funny animals. Most of the stories have something to do with swing music and dancing.
And although they're crudely drawn, one of the more unique character concepts is Pussy Katnip, found in various titles scattered across the mid-1940s, usually buried amongst a bunch of more normal stories with ordinary human characters. Pussy Katnip looks like one of your classic film noir glamorous beauties, except she's an anthropomorphic cat. Think Minerva Mink but feline. She may appear to be a femme fatale at first, but she's actually a crimefighter. To do this she chugs a mysterious beverage that gives her enhanced strength and intelligence. She's sort of a mystery-solving superhero.
Her appearances are random and kind of hard to find. Here are the titles of the ones currently circulating online: All Your Comics (1944 issue) All Top Comics (one-shot) All Good Comics Everybody’s Comics (1944 issue) Green Mask v1 #11 Ribtickler v1 #1 All Great Comics (1945 issue) Book of All-Comics Green Mask v2 #2 Rocket Kelly #2 Zoot Comics #1
Often these comics, especially in the early '40s, remind me of the artwork of underground comics of the '70s- not quite rubberhose, not quite Looney Tunes. The kind of thing you might find on a punkabilly album cover.
And ocassionally you'll come across characters with a suspiciously familiar name:
One thing to watch out for is the occasional Donald Duck knock-off, some more obvious than others.
Now you may be asking: Where can I read these comics? Simple: https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/ Just be sure you have the right software to read them. I use cooViewer. Another incredibly useful resource is www.comics.org.
So if you're like me and you're too impatient to wait for Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to fall out of copyright, and you want to do something more unusual and unexpected, there are dozens and dozens of comic books with silly, wacky characters that can be utilized in your own original stories, cartoons, and what have you- and you can monetize them too!

Hello! I love your art sm, and seeing your art inspires me to continue making my own. However, I struggle A LOT with shading. Do you have any tips for how you do shading? Especially dynamic lighting?
HI! First of all, sorry for the late response. It's been a very busy week! Second of all, I'm so glad to read you say this. Seriously, thank you so much <3333
I'll start by saying I'm NOT the best person to explain color theory and all that jazz, but I can describe to you my process and see if you can get something out it!
If you're interested in dynamic lighting, the important thing is to start DARK and work your way through the light. I've also just recently realized that this is the best way to shade in general for me.
So, usually I put down my base colors and slap a layer of a preferred hue on it in "multiply" (I'm sure your drawing program has a similar tool with a different name). This helps you "locate" the subject in your ambience of choice, whose color will always be changing the base colors of your character (unless it's open daylight, but personally, I'd still add an orange tint to it).
After this, you can start placing lights. Choose your light source (you might have noticed I often prefer a warm light/with a green/purple/blue shadow) and think of your drawing subject as a 3D object that will reflect light accordingly. Keep attention to what objects might block light from passing by, or how light might "bend" when it meets the surfaces in a different angle. Remember this is NOT a one layer process. Not for me, at least. This, for example, is the result of 6 layers of light. Same hue, different intensity. Start from low intensity and build up to it.
(LITTLE NOTE INBETWEEN: remember the shadow changes size depending on how close it is to the surface it's been casted on.)
(END OF NOTE)
Depending on what you want your result to be, you might be done here or you might want to add more shades as well. I tend to overshade a bit in the last period, but it does help me see flaws in the anatomy that I might have not noticed without the volume that shading brings out. Shades are ALSO a process of multiple layers.
And finally, if you went a bit too hard with the shading, you might want to bring back the silhoutte through a bit of reflected light from the ambience... very soft, I usually go for green and light blue unless I have a different light source that might suggest another color. It really adds to the piece, especially if you have very reflective surfaces in it (ex. metal or silk).
Final suggestions, remember that skin under a strong contrast between shadows and light does this kind of over-satured line inbetween the two (the terminator line). Really helps pull off the whole thing! It's usually even more defined then the ones I draw.
And remember that references are always the best way to go, especially if you want to put your light source in an angle you haven't drawn before.

It's been many, many years since I've written anything for Voltron, but here I am. Despite many complaints, my heart has always been stuck on our favorite red and green duo. Lately, I've been back in the fandom, and now that I've matured into early adulthood, I've decided to try and find the perfect way to write them post war, but realistically (or at least, semi-realistically).
I honestly don't know how many people are still in this fandom, but I will regret not sharing my thoughts (internal storyline that has slowly been building up since forever.) so here I am. :)
Anyways, if anyone reading this is interested, here are some things to know.
I'm a slow updater, and I very much hate most of the stuff I write. So please bear with me as I navigate this story to how I envision it.
This is not my main account, this is strictly a Voltron/Kidge account, so I'm not expecting a lot of traction— however, at times this might cause a hit at my confidence, despite knowing that fact. So again, bear with me.
I'm a compliment girlie. If you read this story once it's out and like it, please let me know. It will help me in the long run and encourage me to keep this going.
I don't remember everything about Voltron as I haven't watched it fully in years, so I'm going to rewatch all of it before writing. (Don't worry, I don't have too much of a busy life right now besides babysitting.) So this story won't be right away, but I will be writing down scenes/passages while writing. I might even create a few one shots, behind the scenes stuff you won't see in the story, to give you some extra Kidge.
SOME THINGS ABOUT THE STORY—
Shadows of Azar ~ When Keith and the Blades, a group of elite warriors, reach out to Katie for assistance on a critical mission, they discover that their past bond is far from forgotten. As they face danger, betrayal, and the weight of the universe, their connection reignites into something even more profound. Secrets unravel, alliances shift, and the line between duty and personal loyalty blurs. Amidst the chaos of battle, Keith and Katie find themselves drawn together, their shared history woven into every decision they make.
But this isn't just about saving the universe; it's about saving each other. As they navigate treacherous terrain, they confront their own vulnerabilities, fears, and desires. Keith, haunted by his past, seeks redemption. Katie, brilliant and determined, grapples with the sacrifices she's made for her family. Together, they forge a new path—one that transcends duty and becomes a testament to resilience, trust, and love.
As the Blades' mission unfolds, Keith and Katie must confront not only external threats but also the complexities of their emotions.
After the battle is won, will they embrace this newfound connection and ignite a brilliant flame together, or will it consume them—reducing everything they’ve cherished to ashes?
————
Ages— Keith 25, Katie (Pidge) 21
————
Here, we find that Pidge goes more by 'Katie'. Only the ones closest to her call her Pidge. (Family, Paladins.)
———
Allura is alive!!
———
Ships— Kidge. Allurance. Hunk&Shay. Shiro and Curtis. Matt and V.
———
This is a slow burn!! (In a way). It's not a large storyline, as I'm not planning to be a whole book. Kind of more of a mini series. (I haven't decided how many chapters, so maybe it'll change.)
This is told in Third POV, but you can tell when it switches its focus from Katie and Keith.
———
(I will be posting a playlist.)

How do you think Mobius will live his life in the timeline? Many theorize that something happens to Don and Mobius takes his identity so his sons live with a father. I prefer that Mobius reflects on his old life, realizes he can’t live it, and creates his own life.
Oh, boy, Anon. I have a lot of fanfic ideas for this, but let's get into the meta-analysis side of this before we get into the rabbit hole that is my washer-dryer machine of an imagination.
Mobius is not doing well. He is going through the stages of grief. I've written an extensive meta here regarding the darker aspects of his character and how he's at risk by the end of the series. I also wrote a brief meta here regarding how his grief might manifest.
With this in mind, I actively HATE the idea of Mobius spiraling to the point he becomes "corrupted". I don't what Michael Waldron did to Wanda. I guess you could make the argument that it would be interesting to see a man emotionally unravel in such a way, but I hold Mobius's unshakable kindness dear in my heart. I don't ever want him to lose it because it is essentially his superpower.
[Sidebar: comics canon House of M notwithstanding; Marvel and DC comics canon are consistently horrible in their characterization of exceptionally powerful women: Wanda Maximoff Jean Grey/Phoenix; Carol Danvers/then Ms. Marvel; Rogue; on and on; I'll throw Sylvie in here, too, because why not, it's true.]
I see Mobius mourning Loki for two years. Two years because, statistically, that is how long it takes for most people who've lost an intimate loved one to get out of clinical depression. During this period, I see him losing weight, wandering aimlessly between timelines, trying and failing to copy Don's life by taking a job that involves jet skis or aquatics more generally. B-15 would make a point to check-in on him and know he's not doing well, but Mobius, because he does not want anyone to worry about him, because he is used to being the person who keeps people together, insists he's fine.
MY FANFIC IDEA
I see Mobius eventually recognizing he needs a therapist, which he will find ironic and deeply troubling, but he's not about to give up on trying to live for Loki's sake.
And in his conversations with his therapist and B-15, Mobius will come to realize that he can still use his key strengths outside of the TVA: analyzing people, deconstructing what makes them tick, using that knowledge to help the other person, similar to a therapist but more active in support. Mobius is very well-suited to become a social worker of troubled and at-risk youth. I think he should pursue this and ...
Mobius will choose a branched timeline in the late 90s/early 2000s. There, he will meet a war-orphaned, thirteen year-old Wanda Maximoff, who is friendless and struggling to understand the nature of her powers (magic). Mobius is drawn to her right away. It takes time, but he eventually gains Wanda's trust.
Red. Red is Wanda's color. It's in her hair, her cheeks, her magic. Now that red reaches Wanda's eyes, filled with tears her anger stoppers. "You saw what I can do. What I did. The other kids call me a 'witch' 'cause that's what I am. A witch. A monster."
Mobius sits next to the young girl on the stoop. The sun winks at them through the green tree boughs, and he wonders, for a moment, what Loki might think of him now, finding solace in a child who needs solace.
"That's not true. You're not a monster, but I tell you what: witches are pretty cool." Mobius grins, knocking his knee against hers. The fabric of his slacks shakes, still too loose. "Y'know, my best friend has magic just like yours, except it's green instead of red."
Wanda peers at him, hopeful and dubious. "Really?"
"Yup. He had a tough time, too, being different." He leans closer to her, sharing a secret. "But things got better. You should've seen him. He was--is-- magnificent. You're magnificent."
Her lips purse into an embarrassed smile. She drops her head, thoughtful, and tucks her hands beneath the fold of her knees. "Where is he now? Do you still see him?"
The question is innocent, as all things are with a soul of thirteen. She doesn't mean to hurt him. Mobius knows this. So he takes the thorn of her words and presses it against his ribcage. His throat works. The ache comes and goes but never fully abates.
"Well," Mobius sighs. "He had to move on. Life is like that sometimes. People come and go. Things happen and ... there's not much you can do except hope they're okay. That they're happy and safe."
He can't look up. Not at the tree or the sun. He worries if he does, he'll start to cry, and that won't do when this girl who reminds him so much of his wily god has finally cracked a smile.
"C'mon," he says, rising to his feet. "Let's get you something to eat."
"McDonald's?" Wanda brightens.
Another thorn. He takes that one too and thinks of pretty roses.
"Whatever you want, kiddo."

NPLH anon here!
The two fits being so similar was the first thing I noticed! Blue after the green fit? Could mean nothing but...
I couldn't help be drawn to the white shoes too, I must admit👀
Hi darling 🩷
I know I've been going blue and yellow a lot but I am a blue and green bitch at heart and I am like 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 because that's so 👀👀👀👀👀 and it's such an interesting shade of blue too, it's a lot brighter than we see Buck in lately, so 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Buck does love his white hightops tho, I don't know if it means much, but it is another thing I'm watching. Along with the army green pants. Very interesting outfit.

Morine {Noragami}
Character presentation
[Warning ! Noragami’s spoilers !]
General
Capacity : Ki
Name : Mori
Usual Name : Morine
Age : 14 years old
Gender : Female
Status : Dead (ghost/shinki)
Transformation : Push Dagger
Physical Appearance
Morine's straight chestnut hair falls to her shoulder blades. She often wears it up in a bun, but a rebellious lock wanders over to the right side of her forehead. Her green eyes are reminiscent of the color of the forest, which she lightly makes up with mascara. Her skin is dotted with moles. She wears two under her right eye and a string of them all over her body. On her upper left thigh is the shinki mark, the kanji of her name written in red : 森. Morine is taller than girls her age and more muscular. Her arm muscles are also quite well defined, which is a source of complex for her.
Morine's style of dress is quite feminine. She often wears dresses, skirts and elaborate tops. But there's one rule she never seems to break : she never shows her arms or shoulders. She often hides them under layers of clothing, even if it means being too hot. She often wears nail polish to match her mood of the day. It's a way of expressing the emotions she can't bring out constructively.
Personality
Morine is a young girl whose biggest screw is lying. She doesn't have much self-confidence and will do anything to make people like her. I don't know if I should say more about her yet.
Relationships
Yato : Yato and Morine's relationship is off to a bad start. The former god of disaster refused to take her on as a shinki for a while. But he finally agreed to take her under his wing under conditions, in discussion with Hiyori. In time, their relationship will improve, because after all, Yato's not a bad guy.
Hiyori : Hiyori was the first person to take her under her wing when she was lost in the woods in spectral form. They also get together around a shared passion : combat sports. A great way to bond !
Yukine : While time is on Morine's side with Yato, it's just the opposite with Yukine. He seemed to like her when she came to live with them, only to find his trust shattered after an argument broke out between them.
Kofuku : They have a bit of a sisters relationship. Kofuku likes to dress Morine up or put nail polish on her. They get along great ! Morine got her purple skirt from her. She gave it to her when she saw her leering at it. It's a gift that means a lot to Morine.
Daikoku : Daikoku has the soul of a father. He loves children and it's not surprising to say that he acts with Morine like a father or uncle, as he might with Yukine.
Story
Her past is an enigma, her future a mystery, and you'll have to be patient to find out !
Other things
Here I'm going to talk a bit about what's going to happen to this account and my future posts !
Well hello already, I'm glad to meet you ! I'm Much ! I'm writing this first post on Tumblr to introduce you to a character of my creation and more than that, a project close to my heart. I hope you enjoy it !
You'll no doubt have noticed that a good deal of information is missing. I either fly over them or skip them. Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. Indeed, through this blog, I'd like to draw your attention to what's coming next. This presentation is an introduction, an attempt to intrigue you a little.
Lately, I've been remodeling an Oc that I created when I was a 15-year-old baby. With my MATURE ADULT eyes, I now realize that everything has to be redone ! I've taken over her design, her story, her name... I'm not quite finished bulding the structure of the story, but I know where I want to go.
So I've decided to post what I write about it here ! For the moment, I've drawn the first chapter entirely in the form of manga boards. I tried to reproduce Adachitoka's style for fun. And although it was a lot of fun, I don't think I'll have the time in the future to draw the whole story I want to tell. So I'm thinking of publishing some blogs mixing illustrations and writing.
I plan to post the boards of the first chapter in a while. I hope you’ll like it ! If not... I don't care !
I wish you a good day, a good night and a beautiful life ! See you soon !

i love ur art sm!! ur such an inspiration 💌💌how do you choose your palettes? the colors you use have always catched my eye
thank you so much!!!
For the colours, I don't know what to suggest if you do traditional art as I'm not very skilled in that but if you're a fellow digital artist I can try!!
pretty long post coming up, btw I do need to preface I'm just a student and not a professional, so take this all with a grain of salt especially if i get technical at all
TL;DR (too long didnt read): i use a green and or orange multiply layer, i try to give everything a dark green-orange undertone, focus on how certain colours look when next to each other and how they can appear completely different
also also its late and im tired so i apologise for any mistakes
i usually start by doing colours that generally match the character im drawing, then i just kinda go wild with altering them, ive learnt to pick them on my own through practice but a lot of the time and starting out i simply mess around with "blending modes". It'd be difficult to explain all of them and they may differ from software to software but my favourite one is "Multiply" (which should be on most softwares, hopefully!)
now, what you do with these depends on what sort of vibe youre going for, I like warm colours, I don't really know how to describe my art, but I like it to be saturated yet dark.. if that makes any sense lmao
gonna use this random doodle of emma to explain what i mean. on my phone rn so its not,, very good but itll do haha
so, i started by getting roughly similar colours to what she has. colourpicking from official art is always an option too, if youre drawing an oc then just figure out the general "local colour" (flat colours unaffected by lighting) you want the character to have and put them down, my art switches from being desaturated and saturated a lot depending on the vibe im goung for, for the more saturated art I'm gonna add a clipping layer of this solid bright yellowy green olivey colour in this example (the colour you use changes the atmosphere of it a lot, i usually use green or orange because i really like the look it gives, i love dark and warm tones)
clipping is a feature a lot of art softwares should have, for this im using ibis paint x, i usually use clip studio paint, others will have it and blending modes too, it lets you create a new layer and "clip" it to the one below, anything you draw on the clipped layer will only show up on space that has been drawn on the layer below (but you can hide/delete anything on this layer and it won't effect the original layer!)
next im gonna use the multiply feature,
"keeps only the darker colors of the blend layer and makes light colors less opaque. The resulting color is always darker, except for where it's pure white" (taken from a website called sketch) dunno how much the specifics of its affects change between different softwares, but the way I view it is always "makes base colours darker, and adds a tint of whatever colour you selected"
the result from doing that is this! this gives a sorta green tone, you can play with the opacity to change the intensity. this is a really simple trick to get cool looking colours, and the more I've used it and paid attention to what specific colours i get from doing it. for these saturated pieces ive noticed that depending on how much I tinted the piece any colours that would for example be white (like the hair frederick has in this drawing) is actually straight up yellow/orange
i have some art thats a little less saturated/a bit darker than this though, but its a pretty similar process! you can see the white of their shirts are actually again a dark desaturated yellow/orange, now you may notice it looks a little green at first, that is another thing to keep in mind
colours can trick your eyes a lot! and you can use this to your advantage very well, I'm not well versed enough in colour theory to explain the exact specifics on how this happens, but basically depending on the colours surrounding it, certain colours can appear completely different
another example is normans waistcoat in this drawing, you probably see that and think "thats blue" but nope, somehow, its actually a very very desaturated yellow! grey can appear as blue a lot ive noticed
if we isolated that grey/yellow colour you can see it is in fact grey, but it looks blue in the whole drawing!
whilst obviously theres nothing wrong with making a drawing of a character where things like blue actually are blue or a white/grey is actually white/grey, in the style of art I do i personally enjoy limiting the amount of colours used and using certain tricks to make it look like theres more variation in hues than there actually is, i like how cohesive it makes the artwork look :)
heres another example of what multiply can do with a few different colours, its best to learn to colour without it, i see multiply (and other blending modes! theres a lot of them) like training wheels, its not cheating to use them, its just a little boost to help you start out, and you can go a lot further in developing your understanding of colour if you try and learn to colour without it :D
#thank you for asking!#ive wanted to write smth like this for a while#art#art tips#color theory#kinda#tbh im bs'ing a lot of this#digital art

Hello Bree, I just have a quick question:
I was wondering if it's possible for a witch to be drawn to a specific branch of witchcraft due to following or worshipping a god or goddess.
Or at most, if a god or goddess would want a witch to learn about a specific branch of witchcraft for a reason?
For example, I have recently been feeling a strong pull towards necromancy/ spirit work now that I follow Hecate, and I haven't had that much of an interest in it before her.
I don't know how else to describe it other than I do find the topic interesting, and I want to learn about it, it's just a strong pull I've been feeling lately.
Sorry if this is a bit hard to understand, I'm just trying to describe my situation to you the best I can.
Personally, this isn't something I've had a lot of experience with, but I do think it's fully possible.
I think it's also possible that we might be drawn to certain deities because of a pre-existing interest that we just haven't explored before, or one that we carry sort of subconsciously but haven't acknowledged. And then through research into said deity and their associated lore, we find other threads to follow that either lead to new areas of interest or give us an excuse to explore things we vaguely wanted to before.
This certainly happens with other areas of interest. For example, one might take up painting as a hobby and discover a previously unknown passion for medieval history while looking into the history of one's new craft. To put it in witchy terms, one might take up green witchcraft as their chosen path and discover that they really love gardening.
So it stands to reason that looking into a deity could result in the same sort of discoveries. I'm sure it certainly helps to have one's devotees have some sort of interest in one's areas of patronage. Whether these are personal revelations or a directive from said deity is probably a distinction best left to individual reflection, since results will vary.
Whatever the case, best of luck with your new line of study!

Paquette la Chantefleurie and Rollo Flamme similarities rambling
I just finished reading Notre dame de paris yesterday in just 4 days because I was too into it and I noticed how Rollo's backstory, character, personality is really leaning more into the characters in the novel (esp. Frollo in this case) more than the Dsney adaptation and here's my incoherent lowkey short rambling below about Paquette or Sister Gudule and Rollo. Obviously, this has spoilers for the novel so if you don't mind that then feel free to read.
Who is Paquette La Chantefleurie?
Paquette or Sister Gudule as known by others is Agnes or Esmeralda's biological mother. After the Romani kidnapped Agnes as a baby (which they replaced her with baby Quasimodo), the people believed that they cannibalized baby Agnes which lead to Gudule believing that she was dead and thus creating this hatred towards those people not knowing that her beloved Agnes is growing to be one of them (which she also showed hatred towards Esmeralda too when she first met her.) Anyways she has a tragic end which I won't dive into much.
Rollo and Gudule? What's the similarities?
After Agnes's disappearance, Gudule lived a life of seclusion (hmmmm.....) and holds great disdain towards the Romani. Familiar? While Rollo's hatred towards magic users might look like how Disney Frollo's hatred towards the Romani stems from, I feel like if we base it on the novel, it all stems down towards Gudule more than Frollo (cuz Novel Frollo is so into alchemy that people believe he's a sorcerer lol and he's really just a solely Esmeralda hater rrrr. He never looked at them the same extreme ways as Disney does and Novel Frollo's actually very tragic in the novel... rip.)
So how are they similar then? As I thought a lot lately, Rollo's hatred for magic only stemmed when magic took his brother the same way the Romani took Gudule's only beloved daughter. Rollo then grew up to be the thing he despises (being a magic user) and Esmeralda grew up to be the someone that Gudule despises. Rollo's hatred isn't because he's straight up evil like Disney Frollo is, but because there was an even deeper reason like Sister Gudule. (It's so hard to put it into words but that's it. That's ittt!)
Rollo's brother and Esmeralda
Now it finally stems down to this. Rollo's brother, while surely base on Novel Frollo's brother, Jehan, obviously does not take his rebellious personality. In fact, base on Rollo's flashbacks of him, he cares alot about Rollo and really shows him magic because... well, Rollo enjoys it too... even with minimal description I feel like Rollo's brother, if Rollo = Sister Gudule would be Esmeralda/Agnes.
Also I'd love to note how we know how twst characters aren't particularly always base solely on their counterparts, Rollo also has Esmeralda's features (green eyes), the goats being drawn to him and all (lol), and if he were to choose goats over anything else i'd even say he'd have Pierre Gringoire's silliness.
Additional random rambling
I swear to god Novel Frollo >>> Disney Frollo in terms of who Rollo is. Understandable since Yana base a lot on the musical which leans more into the Novel. Hjihsjssjd gosh when Jehan died in the novel tho, that's where Frollo really snapped and went, "fuck this I've got nothing to lose anymore." So yeah
For those who read here, here's one of the concept art of Claude Frollo from the Art of Hunchback of Notre Dame i've been reading on my school library lmao

hi ion! i talked. so much. i am so sorry and thank you for the opportunity.
the character everyone gets wrong
i am swallowing the urge to say "all of them", so we'll go with the two most glaring - jack and davey. the both of them are victims of blorboification, epecially influenced by javid, but i think a lot of it also comes down to fundamental misunderstandings of their characters based on surface-level readings.
people portray davey as meek and shy and modest, when in reality he's just anxious in front of a strong personality. he speaks without thinking - he speaks So Much - and constantly puts his foot in his mouth, he's judgemental and guarded, he's unfriendly. he has a sense of responsibility so strong that it turns back around into a flaw - he didn't want to strike! he doesn't respect the newsies or even acknowledge their complexity or humanity at first. he's misogynistic. he's unempathetic, especially to jack. he isn't this sweet infallible mom friend who loves everyone and wouldn't say boo to a goose.
jack is portrayed as cool and suave and unaffected, as if people don't realise that that side of his personality is an act. jack is a reluctant leader, he's deeply traumatised and just surviving day-to-day - santa fe isn't a real ambition, it's delusional escapism to keep him alive. he's hardened and violent and guarded, he has very little sense of self, he has no real ambitions. he feels utterly alone, despite the friends surrounding him. he is a Fucked Up seventeen year old boy.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
gonna use this as an opportunity to talk about santa fe more. it's been the constant interpretation as long as i've been in the fandom that jack's dream of going to santa fe is real, tangible, an intention - but the whole point is that it isn't. jack was never actually going to go to santa fe, and it's made even more clear in uksies by the usage of the atchison, topeka, and santa fe railroad, which didn't even go to santa fe at the time - and jack doesn't know that, because he doesn't know anything real about santa fe. it's just a fantasy to him. an image on a postcard, a place to imagine when he needs escapism, and nothing makes this clearer than his painting of it being drawn solely from imagination. he isn't using a reference image, he's painting a place he's never seen.
and while portraying that jack does end up going to santa fe at some point or another isnt wrong in itself, it's wrong to present that he'd be happy there. the mythic west was a calculated endemic spread amongst the working class on the east coast throughout the mid-late 1800s, it was all lies. santa fe was nothing like jack's fantasies, in 1899 the cowboy dream was dead.
jack would never be able to face that.
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time
white jack kelly. and even when jack is portrayed as ambiguously poc, he is so often drawn with white features - blue or green eyes, a small nose, loose waves, etc. the newsies in general are portrayed as this same-faced conglomerate of white boys differentiated only by hair/eye colour. i think a lot of fanart falls to modernity too, gives everyone modern and that frustrates me as a history enjoyer.
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
platonic! environmental! character studies! canon, missing scenes, realistic portrayals. i would love to see more portrayals of the newsies with realistic scars and injuries, i would love to see characters explored outside of ships, i would love to see complexity and honesty and less self-acknowledged mindless projection. i want to see hisory and the surroundings and how they're all affected by their upbringings and circumstances.

sorry for being late! Day 1: War and peace. Ie, me fucking rambling. Also war and peace as in the book comes up bc idk why not apparently. Fluff, lots of it
This was most certainly a scene, not that there was anything in particular happening, which was the odd thing, this is England and France we are talking about here, Arthur and Francis, even when they were on good terms they bickered often, more often than not they were most certainly not on good terms, then blood was usually drawn by either, or both sides.
This, this was bloody surreal, Rhys had seen a lot of odd things with his brothers involving Francis, somehow that man managed to get so deeply into both Arthur and Alisdair's mind, so fucking long ago, that he just sort of stayed there, it was a little fucking odd for someone to see two of his brothers, neither of which were particularly soft or loving in most meanings of either word, currently Arthur had gotten into Francis' good books, or the other way round, he wasn't sure, no one ever was, likely not even them.
Usually they were doing something, Arthur had a near inability to just sit still and relax, always wound tighter than a spring and just as ready to strike as one, but right now he was, wait, wait, was he fucking asleep???
That. That was sorcery, Arthur had genuinely fallen asleep, on Francis' shoulder no less.
Arthur, asleep as he was, did not notice Rhys walking in on that fucking scene of odd domestic affection, when he did sleep he slept hard and long, probably something built up from centuries of the most godawful sleep schedules, Francis did though, he was holding up an egregiously thick hardcover, the type that really looked like it could cause a concussion if used in the right (wrong?) way, Arthur had grabbed onto him in a way that even if he wanted to Francis couldn't move, and something told Rhys that it was unlikely that he wanted to do so anyways.
Francis noticed him loitering about the doorway "Come, sit down, you know as well as I that he wouldn't wake up if bombs were dropping overhead in this state."
He did have a point, and he sat down, Arthur was warm to the touch for once, and hey, that was his jumper, bloody jumper-stealing gremlin, he had his own! I mean if the jumpers didn't belong to them no one would notice the difference, frumpy, bobbled, faded and whatnot they all were, very clearly worn for a longass time, at least the one Artur was sleeping in right now did not smell like month-old buckfast and Scotland vomit.
This was a little awkward, he dimly registered that Francis was wearing one of Arthur's downright crustiest jumpers, a thing old enough to have a midlife crisis of its own, an utterly atrocious shade of green that somehow managed to be all the worst of green, brown and yellow all at once, but it was still one of the softest jumpers he owned, it was big on him, and for how large he appeared, Francis was not that much taller than Arthur, barely an inch, if that.
It was a little adorable he did have to admit, seeing Arthur almost nuzzle into Francis' chest as he lay asleep, how he so many centuries ago would react, probably even decades ago would react to this would be a mystery for all, but it was fun to imagine, they had always rutted like animals yes, but never just so, like this. Domestic was the only goddamn word for it, and domestic is not a word that i assure you that Rhys usually used for Francis or Arthur, let alone the both of them together.
He didn't comment on that though, and instead scanned the cover of the book that Francis was reading, War and Peace, sure he had read it before but jesus that book was a beast, clearly Arthurs copy by how dog eared the pages were, much to literally fucking everyone's chagrin.
"War and peace huh. You like it?"
"Eh, it's getting there, I've never actually read it before, it is certainly a rather dense book I do say."
That was certainly a nice way to put it, if he were to put weight labels on books, War and Peace would be considered quite morbidly obese, that shit was huge, Francis took off his glasses for a moment, he had glasses, most nations did nowadays, too long in the dark had fucked with their vision, and a lot of them weren't exactly as young as they once were, Arthur had been going grey slowly for nearly a century prior, Francis had started somewhat after that, vain bastard probably covered it up for a while but right now it seemed that he really couldn't give a shit.
It was fun to see Arthur go grey before he did, the way nations aged was odd, and while Arthur was the youngest of them nation-wise, excluding North of course, he was the oldest physically and he hadn't ever exactly taken the best care of himself ever and it fucking showed.
Anyhow that whole thing aside, Francis put down the book onto the table on the side of the sofa, it made quite a loud thunk, Arthur did not wake up because of course he didn't, put his glasses atop it, and slowly glided his fingers through Arthur's hair.
To Rhys, it seemed odd but in the best way possible, he had sem them at each others throats for what was literally nearly a fucking millennia, and if they weren't they usually had something else highly questionable going on, he had seen them fighting with knives, swords, muskets, guns, what all and whatnot, brawling in the mud when drunk, often till either or both were properly bruised and battered, how times changed huh.
Oh, now he just sounded old and cheesy, fuck this.
He rose from his seat and left those two to whatever it was that they were doing, it was a little too good to last, he knew it wouldn't, it was natural for them never to really stay still, but for now let them have their fun and cuddling, no one else would do it to Arthur, let alone willingly, probably the same for Francis (well save for Alisdair) so this was good for the both of them, so bad for anyone else that they had to be with each other.
He left the room with a sigh, Arthur still had his favourite bloody jumper, he would raid his cupboard in retribution. Hmpf, bastard.
#the heam writes#frukweek2023#hws england#hws france#fruk#hws wales#hws scotland#bc idk why not#im not gonna lie wales plays more of a role than arthur here#heam why dont you have a writing style i hear you say. That my dear is because my mind has never fucking made an ounce of complete sense

---- NINE PEOPLE I'D LIKE TO KNOW BETTER!
𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑(𝐒): Black, red, green and greys! 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑(𝐒): I follow Min on the 'fruits' thing, there's nothing like the flavor of a nice ripe nectarine or peach, or cantaloupe melon or cherries!! God, cherries, I want some now. I also am (to be honest) an absolute nut for chocolate, which I think I haven't kept a secret here so far whatsoever. But dark chocolate with praliné filling? God, my mouth is watering at the mere thought. 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐂: I like so many artists, but a lot of consistent ones that I keep going back to are the classic oldies (Presley, Beatles, Sinatra), or your 80/90s classics. Beyond that, I will always go back to Abel Korzeniowski, Sleeping at Last, Smash into Pieces (thank you, Min)— uh, who else, I know I always forget ones here, ah, I'll 100% admit that I'm a Bruno Mars fan (Silk Sonic, hello?) This is one of those where I can't really narrow it down, I just let Youtube autoplay and I come across many gems, you know? 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐄(𝐒): Mary Poppins. It's a film that's very near and dear to me and this answer seems to always surprise people, but I don't think it'll ever change at this point. It just hits me with a sense of magic that nothing else could ever do. And while I don't seek to 'be drawn back into my childhood', I like that this... does just that. I feel like whenever I watch it (and I don't too often), I gain more appreciation for it. Also, the music in it remains unparalleled (the moment when Mr. Banks walks to the bank, that instrumental? Favorite of all time, I think). 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒: Seinfeld, Friends, I enjoy the good old-school comedy shows. 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐆: Minefields, by Faouzia & John Legend. 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒: An episode of Seinfeld has been playing every morning when I'm home as of late, it's been absolutely wonderful. I love this cast so much. 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐄: The Joker, it came recommended for a specific mood! It's a good film. 𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆: I haven't picked it up in forever, because sitting down to read hasn't been a common thing for me lately (and also, I'm not quite prepared to head back into Warcraft lore quite yet, but the Warcraft: War of the Ancients trilogy by Richard A. Knaak. 𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍: Work preparation for Wednesday, last work day before Winter break! I'd love to work on replies, though. But life is insane at present and because I've coughed so much because of bronchitis/etc. etc., I think I tore a ligament. 😭
