And now for something new
So, here's something I was never planning on doing, but I just couldn't shake the idea... Thanks Ken Penders is gaining a sister blog featuring an entirely different comic franchise!
Introducing... Thanks Steve Ditko, a blog where I read the Earth-616 Spider-Man comics, starting all the way back in the '60s! It's gonna be much more casual and less thorough than how I run things here on TKP, though, which I'll explain in a sec.
If seeing me post weird bits from old Spider-Man comics sounds fun and you need no further info, then just head right on over to Thanks Steve Ditko. But for longtime TKP readers, I know you probably have questions...
Number one: Why?
Spider-Man's always been my favorite superhero, and with the Spider-Verse movies kicking ass and my excitement building for the new Insomniac game, I've been in a Spidey mood. Inevitably, a thought occurred to me: Maybe I should actually read the comics that everything else is built off of and see the wildly varying contributions of all the original creators, rather than filtering them through big budget adaptations. If I can power through One Piece and all these other manga with hundreds of chapters, it can't be that hard... right?
And, well, after a few issues I quickly realized that my options were to either clog up my other accounts with random Spider-Man panels for years, or to just make a side blog. And so the side blog was born.
Two: Will this blog replace Thanks Ken Penders?
NO!!!!!!!!!
Okay but prove it
To allow the two to exist side-by-side, Thanks Steve Ditko will have a different format than what Thanks Ken Penders developed. Rather than an in-depth guided tour that critically analyzes every story beat of every issue, TSD will just be a place for amusing panels and brief thoughts as I casually read the comics at my own pace.
If you've seen me make a few tweets about reading Spider-Man recently, I'm basically just moving that to a dedicated Tumblr. It's a place for me to dump these things so that it doesn't fill up my media tab on Twitter for the next decade. (You know, assuming Twitter is still around in a decade.) There will be many issues where I only post two panels that I thought were funny. There will be issues where I don't have anything to say at all. Maybe I'll reach a run that I just cannot get into, and I start skipping around more. Who knows!
This may sound similar to what I thought this blog would be before it blew up. Aside from the simple fact that there's already mountains of Spider-Man commentary out there and therefore less of a void for me to fill, one of the main steps I'll be taking to avoid repeating the past is not enabling an ask box on TSD. I do not need people to ask me to go into ten times more detail on everything. I do not need to write seven essay-length responses to questions about Spider-Man minutiae every day. I do not need a place for people to chide me for not covering certain scenes, issues, or ancillary series.
It also won't have any kind of update schedule. I'm trying to keep it very casual. I'm reading these comics at my own pace, and if I feel like sharing a moment or commenting on something while doing so? It goes there. That's it.
(On the subject of format changes, I'm also listing the issue, writer, and penciller in the body of every post. This is a thing I wish I'd done on TKP so that people didn't misattribute every weird Archie Sonic panel I post to Penders.)
Three: So when will TKP come back from hiatus? You said it'd come back after you finished SLARPG!
I don't know! Sorry. I have a couple things on the backburner right now for TKP, but I'm not sure when I'll get back to proper updates where I read more comics.
I wanted to bring TKP back this year, and that's still possible. The main hurdle is that I want to reread my own archive (again) as a refresher, which is, uh. A lot of posts. I've developed a high standard for myself on here, and I feel like I wouldn't be doing my job right if I forgot half the ongoing subplots and character arcs and didn't bring them up in my analysis. Especially when I'm discussing the work of an author as obsessed with continuity as Ian Flynn. Unfortunately, the nature of this blog means that every time I go on another long hiatus for Life Reasons I have even more comic continuity to catch up on than last time.
(This is a big part of why I'm making Thanks Steve Ditko an extremely casual blog instead of promising to become a Lore Expert on 60+ years of Marvel.)
Mostly I've just been very burnt out this year after having finally finished a video game that took almost eight years to make. I haven't really had the energy for any creative projects, including TKP. But I feel a little bit of a spark here with Spider-Man, so I'm chasing that feeling to try to get back into the swing of blogging about comics - no pun intended.
So, basically, bear with me on this as I start this low-energy side project. But hopefully folks will enjoy Thanks Steve Ditko as its own thing, too.
Look forward to goofy shit like this

Guys, I hate to do this.
Any of you who know me in any circle know that I'm a very professional, very private lady who hates any sort of disc horse breeds that might give me a headache. But this one is important, and my goal here is the integrity and reputation of artists.
For my credentials: I have been a part of five zines in the past. Two I moderated, and one I ran, created, laid out, printed, and shipped in its entirety.
So anyway:
HELLCHEER ZINE BULLSHIT
I joined Hellcheer and the Kindred Freaks Zine very late. Well, after sign ups, check-ins, etc. I saw it was happening in april-ish and shot a DM to the twitter to join. I did both a full art page and a cosplay page.
At the time, the server was quiet but kind. We got updates on the number of orders and books being made.
@Lawless is the runner of the Zine. They created and organized it. They are in charge of the main emails, the selling website, the orders, the shipping, and the funds. (To be clear, this level of sole responsibility is not ABNORMAL in a zine. And is not always an issue.)
@Valerie is the 'social media' mod. They are in charge of managing announcements and answering questions on Twitter and Tumblr. Please keep in mind: No one wants anything but a fast and easy recovery for both Lawless and their mother. Medical emergencies, heck—LIFE happens. It's always okay to put a hiatus on anything, even product with money, in order to take care of yourself and family. Every single contributor only wants them to be clear in what they need and how we can help.
So lets break down what's happening.
Back in May, Lawless went radio silent on the status of books and merch coming in. Another contributor and I, @Toguchin, start dming Lawless to make sure everything is on track. They come back after a week and apologize for being MIA, explaining that their mom got sick. We thank them for all their hard work and wish them and their mom well.
On July 15th, after contributors and customers inquire on delays to meeting the announced shipping deadline, Lawless makes a twitter post saying shipping has started and contributor copies will be happening. They proceeded to go MIA from the server discord and have been since.
The following week, contributors and customers discover that shipping HAS NOT started. Labels have been created and printed, but nothing appears to be in transit at all.
Toguchin and I started getting reached out to by customers worrying their packages are lost. We report this to the zine server to NO RESPONSE. Except @Ashlee, the discord mod who also has heard nothing.
July 20th to 22nd with customers complaining and theorizing a scam in mind; Toguchin and I propose that PDFs be given out to assure and apologize for delays.
We as a server discover a few things: 1. We cannot access the list of buyers at all in order to email apology zines because Lawless did not share the account information with anyone. 2. We cannot access the main email for the same reason. 3. Valerie, the social media mod, deleted discord and distanced themselves from the Hellcheer fandom and has not been checking the Twitter or tumblr, or discord notifications since May.
Ashlee and Ichikun contact Valerie to sign on.
I made a new email and said fuck it, we need to do something to assuage fears, let them send receipts to honor their zines. Valerie didn't know what to post or say or how to answer everyone, so I gave them a copy paste.
Still no words from Lawless but hoping for the best knowing the have a medical emergency, Ashlee and I begin answering the new email for PDFs, but cant help people change addresses or give them any update!!!
Throughout the weeks mods and contributors ping Lawless constantly asking if they need any help! Any help at all, answering emails, changing order addresses, heck a few of us ask if we can pick up the books and packages and ship stuff for them so they can hands off the project and take care of their mom. No response.
We send message after message saying if Lawless can share picture proof, that would be great cause scam theories and chargebacks are starting. BUT ALSO, we let Lawless know we and customers will ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTAND delays if they just communicate it. That if they post in server and on Twitter that shipping needs to wait a month or two, no one will mind. No responses.
July 31, Lawless makes a Twitter update with comments disabled that they are shipping ALL packages that monday with a picture of packages. They also call Valerie privately and tell the issue that USPS refuses to pick up shipments from Lawless has, and they can't leave their mothers side from the post office. They also claim they can only deliver ten packages at a time at the post when they go. *USPS has no such rules. Me and other mutuals who run shops have never had such a problem.
A week later, we realize that customers and our packages are still not in transit. Labels printed only. Most of us assume all packages are just label printed and sitting at Lawless' house.
We beg for updates from Valerie or Lawless. Valerie doubles down on Lawless old reasonings and also officially goes MIA until present day.
Throughout August, USA packages get delivered. A few more updates are made straight to Twitter and Tumblr with comments off. Radio silence in server.
As packages arrive, we all become aware from people's posts and pictures that random Stranger Things Art Stickers are included. No credit to any artist is given? No contributor is responsible for this art. These are suspected to be BOUGHT from Amazon. STOLEN arts amazon sellers resell in packs. NO contributor is okay with this!!! Valerie responds with no response at all.
As of now:
No response to missing digital copies. Ashlee and I cannot give out any without receipts because we have no access to buyers list. Nor can we answer missing packages inquiries cause we have no info. International packages unaccounted for. SCRUNCHIES FREE OR OTHERWISE UNACCOUNTED FOR. Zero word on contributor copies. Zero word on donation status. Zero word on generated profit or book and shipping cost. No way to verify funds at all. No word from Lawless to contributors since July 15. From Valerie since the 31st.
Some notes:
Turning off twitter comments was NEVER what any one of us wanted. A ZINE LAYOUT was never shared. So until people had them in hand or in PDF none of us realized that the credits DO NOT POINT TO ANY SOCIAL MEDIA. All of our usernames are handle-less? This was extremely disappointing. This one matters to me: Our FanEdit artist was not aware their work was not getting a full page. Again no pre-layout was shared. So their work is tiny and in the margins of the front and back. That's not okay. All of us wanted to help in any way we could. NONE of us doubt Lawless intentions or emergencies. But lying, misleading, non-communicating and turning off comments are all things we did not consent to. All of us only wanted a cordial, honest response. None of us actually cared about delays as much as we did communications. There has been many noticeable times Lawless has been online, posting privately or otherwise, even active on Discord and has not reached out.
Why make a post:
Customers should know contributors fought for them. That we did everything we could and our reputation as artists in the fandom shouldn't be tarnished cause two creators decided to disappear. Contributors should get their copies. Many of us BOUGHT bundles. I've been in five zines and every single one gave out free contributor copies WITH merch!!
I'm also attaching all server screenshots for integrity. I'm in half a mind to release the zine PDF publicly, for free, for everyone at this point. I personally think it's only fair since many are still missing just that. But I do not want to insult anyone who paid for just the PDF regardless of the potential contribution to charity. But it's really up to customers, not me.

Now that I experienced it, I honestly think that the best way to enjoy something is to do it with only a bunch of people
Last year before RWBY V9 and while it aired I posted fanarts not really imagining that it could reach so much people. I did fanarts before during V8 too, during the hiatus as well, but I never got an audience that huge before
I'm not saying I regret anything of course because everything was super fine until summer. A lot of people started to like my work and it even got shared on other RWBY groups on platforms where I wasn't and when I think about it it's huge for me
It was all fine when it was me drawing something I enjoyed to share it with others who like it as well. I didn't notice how it changed in some way to become more like me drawing stuff for people to enjoy (don't get me wrong, I always loved drawing Nuts and Dolts for example, but having so much people following me for it made me thought without realizing it that I needed to draw them to make people happy no matter what).
And when today I look back at V9 and how I enjoyed it and other pieces of media before, I find myself thinking that I ended up not drawing for myself and I started to realize it with the Kofi requests last summer, but still continued.
I just thought about all this lately and taking some distance does help a lot. At the moment I know the situation on Twitter didn't help with that, but I don't feel like drawing RWBY stuff just because it comes and goes and I shouldn't force myself. And I know no one ever did or said anything about that, it's all me putting that pressure on myself because I never knew how to handle so much people following you and "expectations" in some way. I saw it when people called me "the NND CEO", "the NND artist ever", and I liked it with the hype and all but it definitely wasn't my goal and never has been (even if I know it's mostly a "title" because my main RWBY content is still Nuts and Dolts, and it did a lot of good on people apparently)
It's pretty strange how I never imagined just a single thing such as gaining an audience like that could change so much about the way you work, the way you see art, why do you draw etc. I had a "tiny" audience before, and I can't blame people for following me for one specific thing, but I wish they could also stop make assumptions and put on you the version of you they imagined, because that's also something that happened from people expecting me to be things I wasn't.
Anyway, I want to take a step back from all of this, go back to drawing stuff when I feel like it, I've been drawing my story a lot lately as well as some fanarts of SSO, Wakfu... And when I have more time with uni I'd like to go back to my online course to continue learning about concept art and digital painting. RWBY hype and motivation will come back when it's the time, and it won't be for anyone but myself

I think I know what Rejet's next move could be for DL (Soft theory)
-- Rejet's slogan for 2023: REVAMP -reform-. From IwaD's X account
I have a hunch they might have cooked an epic comeback in 2023 and we're already seeing the first hints about where it all could lead to.
Today I was welcomed by every diaboy as kids when I opened twitter and, despite being a pleasant surprise (they all look adorable) it got me thinking.
Before anything, keep in mind that this is only a thought exercise. I myself admit this scenario might be too optimistic.
This last year, IwaD became quite active on their socials (at least from my POV). Doing polls about which merch lines people prefer, minor coloring preferences, interest checks... In their ongoing projects, they intend to open a new cafe, concept room, and store.
Lately, they've been doing a lot of recruitment posts, even going to the extent of making their own website for job listings. That one being:
In their tweet about this, IwaD says the following:
Clearly hinting at Rejet coming back into game/CD development (even tho he might be just doing some damage control).
Coming back to their new merch release (at the time I'm writing this, Millennium Summer, the one with them as kids with sunflowers), the title instantly catches my attention. As the last time they did merch of their younger selves, the set starts with the word 'Millennium'. As if they were trying to build a separate SUBbrand around them as kiddos.
To me, this is interesting in itself, because I enjoy marketing a lot, but this could hint at something bigger. Another odd thing they did lately was releasing YUI MERCH!!! (happy screaming SFX) and for it, they did 7 whole Yui outfits. Kind of a LOT for people that before weren't even thinking about doing any merch with her.
If you think about it, there are tons to say about the diaboys' childhoods. It's true that we know some big canon events, but, taking into account how many years they've been alive, it wouldn't be difficult for them to add some new content there. I know I don't talk for everyone here, but I believe their childhoods to be one of the most fascinating aspects of DL's lore.
Hear me out, what were the last story-related things Rejet released? Daylight and Youngblood. Yes, Youngblood, the mangas about them as children. They were already thinking about this before going on this nightmare of a hiatus.
I truly believe Rejet's next move could be a new game with their childhood selves as protagonists, with Yui taking the role of a storyteller/narrator and using some of her merch outfits as new sprites. She could even be a Karlheinz-like figure, that tries to give advice to the children from time to time.
I haven't researched the personal situation of all of DL's seiyuus, but I know there have been some controversies (such as Ruki's VA getting seriously canceled when the whole DL hiatus thing was starting). This could help avoid any backlash since they'd have to cast new people to do their kiddie voices. This would also be way cheaper for them since most of DL's seiyuus are very famous. No matter how I think about it, this would be a flawless move for them. Heck, they could even lure into DL some of the people who are afraid of the brand due to its original bad press if they turn it into a whole subbrand (which they're already starting to do) with a separate new name and a pretty makeover on top.
On the other hand, if they want to go for drama CDs first, I don't think they would do them from their baby POVs, depending on the voice, they could sound really annoying for a 1 hour CD + I doubt people would buy them at all. In that case, they might do a first run of CDs with the original VA cast (this would also allow them to test whether the public cares about canceled VAs) with our guys retelling a main event from each of their childhoods. This could be a direct segue into a game that would explain each of the new old conflicts.
Again, I know this is foolishly optimistic, I myself I'm hopefully skeptical, but I hope you've enjoyed this thought exercise. Who knows, maybe there's a timeline where Millennium Devils is a thing, or maybe I come from the future.
Update: THEY JUST DID A 4KOMA WITH THEIR MILLENNIUM SUMMER ILLUSTRATION I'M VIBRATING I KNEW IT AAAA

Lady Whistledown. Their resentment of AH is back in full force. They are mad at everyone and blaming us even more for Tim clocking them.
In Narnia...... How dare AH as a queer character not go out of her way to find Lou. How dare Oliver look so happy. How dare Ryan exist. If you thought they were going to be better (yes for a moment they tried)., now they want to comment bomb Tim to convince them to show proof of life for Lou....
Back in the real world where we touch grass.... I'm just so excited to see them all. But expect the pressure campaign to ramp up on them all. They don't learn lessons.. Every day they don't get what they want they will get worse. Will keep track of them complaining if their comments get deleted.
Oh and they are taking shifts watching for him there, seeing if he removes 911 from Twitter bio, any moment he will start taking questions and all SWAT news.
Hello, my love 💜
I can't believe they didn't even last a full 24 hours not hating Ryan for existing, like, I'm not that surprised but at the same time, damn. And going after Aisha is so........... Sure, declare war against not one, not two, but three main cast members after the creator called them out. That's totally gonna get them the reaction they want. It's totally gonna end with Tommy getting his own show, sure, keep doing that. It's not gonna end with him being written off in the most ridiculous way possible just so that they won't have to deal with this anymore. When the hiatus started, I was ready to deal with him for at least all of 8a. Then the madness started to cross limits and I was like, maybe just the opening disaster, Ana style breakup, now the more they talk the more convinced I am this man is gonna be back to be broken up with in another 57-second scene if that. No one wants to deal with this bullshit. They really think going after 3 main cast members after Tim's interviews is gonna get them something???????? How??????????? Seriously, how do you detach yourself from reality this bad?????? I mean, this is so...........
I am happy to see our boys and Aisha, it's gonna be fun to get back to getting behind-the-scenes stuff, I missed them, but I can imagine the madness this will create.

~ Fuji:RE update ~
Hello hello everyone !
Woah it's been a while that I haven't wrote anything there, since I generally use tumblr rather than twitter for longer posts. So, yup…today is one of those days where I need to share a wall of text xD
As some of you surely already know, I attempted to dev Fujiwara:REmake with RPGmaker because of the aspect of walking around and the system of shop/items which was really appealing to me. This was two of the main reasons I switched from Ren'Py to RPGmaker and it was very fun and fullfilling at first as I learned a good amount of new things, but…unfortunately, the more I worked on it, the more I started to struggle and get frustrated with things that my current skills can't cover.
I thought of going on hiatus for the time I'd learn a bunch of advanced features to make the game visually more enjoyable, but I realized it would take an awfully long time to do so until I can present something decent and in sync with what I have in mind. I'm sure most of you don't want to wait who knows more time for this project to be released. So it's a bit reluctantly and disappointed that I decided to go back to Ren'Py, as I'm more familiar with it and that it would also means I'll work faster. I'm really sincerely sorry for all of you who were excited to play a RPGmaker version of Fujiwara (you'll still be able to interact with your surrounding though !), but I really need to go back on a more visual novel type of game for the sake of the project. I hope you'll understand and continue looking forward for Fuji:RE when it's finally completed !
Thank you again all for your support and your patience, you are the bests, always ✦✿

so, update and possible hiatus
As many of y'all know, I worked on a JOJOLands fandub project in which I was the main writer and editor of the series. I also created a series called "Honolulu Hot Takes" that was also posted on the channel the project resides on. Today, I made an announcement on the server and on the Twitter account that that project is now over due to what the founder, main director, and voice actor of Jodio Joestar has done.
There is no plans on reviving the project as many of the voice actors involved do not want to be associated and the project itself will forever have this mark regardless of who takes over. As of now, the channel and server have been deleted by him. Many of the team and I have left the server prior to it as well.
I just want to apologize to the fans, the people in the cast, and the people on our crew for the inconvenience of this announcement and for ending this project due to it. I know there were many awaiting for new opportunities to work with us and many anticipating new content to come from our team, but the journey ends here. Nonetheless, I appreciate you all for supporting this project up to now and wish you all the very best.
I'm going to continue trying to post my own JOJOLands content here and my other accounts like before- like my yap sessions, incorrect quotes, and whatnot- but it currently feels weird if I'm being honest. Part 9 can't be enjoyed like before due to this event now overshadowing everything I used to love about The JOJOLands and other events in my life also occurring; timing works in strange ways. It may take a while for things to get back into the groove and maybe things will never be the same.
Nonetheless, thank you all for being a part of the journey. Up until now, you guys have been the reason why I stayed and did what I did.

(ID in alt!)
hello i'm tox and i'm a 29-year-old gay trans man! i draw, write, play games, and think about boys kissing a lot.
my art tag & my writing tag my ao3 my twitter (don't use it a lot)
TL;DR FOR MY LONGASS BIO POST:
current main fandom is dungeon meshi and my otp is chilaios
i have finished the manga/am watching the anime/i tag spoilers
i am also very much into original characters and will post about my own frequently
i have an organizational tag system and also i do a lot of commentary tags, i also tag common triggers when necessary
minors do not send me messages or follow me, thanks
love talking to people but i am nervous and forgetful, be patient
i block anyone who's rude to me on the spot
you may ask me to tag things or correct misinformation i post/spread
anon asks are open for the foreseeable future
if you want to know more please read the full thing below!
i'm in a lot of fandoms and have a lot of OCs, but my current main fandom is dungeon meshi! my otp is chilaios, but you'll also see kabumisu from time to time because that's my other fave. i've finished the manga and watch new episodes as they air; for blacklisting purposes, my general spoilers tag (for major plot points or things the anime isn't at yet) is "#dunmeshi spoilers" and my spoiler tag for new or upcoming anime episodes is "#dunmeshi anime spoilers".
as the anime is currently on hiatus and i've finished the manga, my focus has been wandering. i'm not done with dunmeshi, nor am i abandoning any of my chilaios fics!! i just have adhd. i'll be posting lots of OC stuff and reblogging general posts about things i have an interest in.
i tag most posts, often with commentary but i also have a mild organizational system. you'll see a lot of "laugh rule", "psa", and "queer stuff". i always try to tag for fandom and ship (if either are things i like and may appear on my blog again), and if a post's body doesn't include text for sensitive content that's in links or images, i'll try to tag things that are widely considered triggers as well. i don't have a dedicated nsfw tag, so if you can't handle tumblr's allowed level of filth, my blog may not be for you. also, no minors, period. if you are under 18 and follow me or contact me directly i will block you. (if you see my post on your dash and reblog it without checking my blog, like... that's fine, i don't care. just stay out of my immediate space, ok?)
i love talking to people and will happily answer most messages, but i'm also shy and extremely forgetful, so try not to take it personally if i don't get back to you. people who are rude will be blocked on sight, i don't have the time or energy for that.
@/captainfkingmagic is my partner! he's not around here often but he's my everything and i do tend to talk about him fairly often.
if you ever want me to add a specific tag to something or want to offer a correction or information on a post that i don't seem to already know, please reach out! unless people start being shitty, anon asks are always open. thanks for checking out my blog!

Congratulations on your accidental(?) milestone!
I'm glad Tumblr is going better for you <3
And I also hope you know that it's okay you take your hiatus, as far as I understand, you're a very busy guy, and the fact that you take time to interact us at all makes me very grateful!!!
(+ I'm obsessed with your brain, you and Ayes have the BEST ideas, istg)
Thank you! I know this is just me recovering from burnout because my brain hasn’t actually ever stopped hyperfixating on steddie. I can’t wait to write again without stressing myself out, but I am writing. And Ayes is one of the main reasons I rejoined twitter since she doesn’t use tumblr, so it’s been nice to reconnect with her too!!

Writeblr Re-intro
I've been around for a minute, but after getting some new followers and returning from semi-hiatus and seeing a lot of new Twitter escapees around, I thought I should reintroduce myself :)
My name is B. Pigeon (they/he) and I'm an indie author who mostly writes queer adult fantasy of various subgenres! I'm also part of the queer indie publishing collective, EHLS, with @fellamarsh. With the shortest summaries I can manage, my published works are:
Mirrored in Evergreen: a dreamy contemporary fantasy about a wizard cursed to be forgotten;
Worm in a Jar, a cute fantasy novella about a witch who accidentally summons a shadowy but harmless demon;
A Hollow Contract, a fantasy serial (on hiatus) following the students & employees of two wizards with ancient beef;
Poised in Either Eye, a lighthearted urban fantasy about dragons in human form trying to survive on Earth by doing crime;
Hierarchy of the Unseen, a fantasy following a demon hunter and a demon subverting their religious order and military (respectively) to team up & prevent the apocalypse
Those last two were cowritten with Fell A. Marsh to serialize on our Patreon, and HotU is still being serialized! My main current WIPs are Heirloom, a moody urban fantasy about trans people with psychic powers who hunt vampires and break curses, and untitled, a fantasy about an amnesiac vampire trying to uncover his past in a world he no longer recognizes.
I post a lot about my own projects and processes, and also about the whiteness of publishing and writing spaces; the highs and lows of self-pub; the books I'm reading (which tend toward the weird, gay, and speculative - add me on Storygraph, btw); and my hot takes.

Shipping Poll Results: 1. General Stats
Next: Favorite Ships (Part 1) · Shipping Poll Main Page
Thank you everyone for waiting! I would like to start with the general statistics.
1.1 General Information
The poll was open from June 1, 2023 til July 22, 2023 and gathered 216 responses. The links to the poll were shared on Tumblr, Twitter, Reddit, Discord (several servers), Instagram, Dreamwidth and later Mastodon.
Please note that with 216 responses, the margin of error is 6.7%, which means that not all of the results will be representative of the fandom as a whole or statistically significant. More on error (link to an explanation I wrote for the S3 shipping poll).
1.2 Where People Found the Poll
Vote breakdown for this question
211 responses out of 216
Tumblr - 77 votes (36.5%)
Twitter - 53 votes (25.1%)
Reddit - 52 votes (24.6%)
Discord - 26 voted (12.3%)
Instagram - 0 votes (0%)
Dreamwidth - 1 vote (0.5%)
Through a friend - 2 votes (0.9%)
5 people skipped the question
Mastodon was not included as a choice.
Discussion
Tumblr has always been the most active hub when it came to the fandom events I organized. Reddit used to be more active in the past. Instagram varied but I didn't expect to get zero responses. This was probably due to changes on Instagram itself, which removed the ability to view new posts. I will probably not post any future events on Instagram.
1.3 Participants' Age
Vote breakdown for this question
207 responses out of 216
13 or younger - 3 votes (1.4%)
14-17 - 36 votes (17.4%)
18-21 - 57 votes (27.5%)
22-25 - 41 votes (19.9%)
26-30 - 38 votes (18.4%)
31-35 - 22 votes (10.6%)
36-40 - 4 votes (1.9%)
41-45 - 4 votes (1.9%)
46-50 - 1 vote (0.5%)
51+ - 1 vote (0.5%)

Discussion
With a small sample size, these results are very likely unrepresentative of the whole fandom, meaning that while the majority of the participants in this survey fall in the age group between 18 and 21 years old, they might not be the actual majority of the active online fanbase.
Moreover, as one participant pointed out, having fixed groups instead of separate ages might skew these results even further.
1.4 When the Participants Joined the Fandom
I can immediate say that I must've worded the options badly, because I got a large number of manual input answers, some of which correspond to my suggested options. For this reason, I made my own pie chart which accounts for that.
Note on the vote options
By "After S1" I mean starting from the release of season 1 until the release of season 2. Thus the hiatus was included in the option "After S3). I will try to word the options more clearly for the next poll.
I didn't originally have the option "Before S1" and added it because three people mentioned that in their responses.
Vote breakdown for this question
212 responses out of 216.
Before S1 - 3 votes (1.4%)
After S1 - 69 votes (32.7%)
After S2 - 29 votes (13.7%)
After S3 - 69 votes (32.7%)
After S4 - 28 votes (13.3%)
Don't remember - 13 votes (6.2%)
4 people skipped the question
Discussion
It appears that seasons 1 and 3 were the main times when people joined the fandom. It makes sense for S1 and 2, since they were released very close to each other (September 2018 and February 2019 respectively) but S4 came after a three year hiatus. I really expected more people to join the fandom after it aired, especially since the poll was held 7 months after its release.
1.5 Relevance of Shipping
Vote breakdown for this question
213 responses out of 216
1 out of 5 - 20 votes (9.4%)
2 out of 5 - 34 votes (16%)
3 out of 5 - 58 votes (27.2%)
4 out of 5 - 64 votes (30%)
5 out of 5 - 37 votes (17.4%)
3 people skipped this question
Discussion
Unsurprisingly, most people taking a survey about shipping do actually care about shipping. However, I'm also glad to see that people to whom shipping isn't as important also took their time to take the survey. Overall, of a scale from 1 to 5, the participants would rate the important of shipping as part of their fandom experience as 3.3.

Alrighty, so! Now that that major 'arc' of the AU is done, it's time foooorrrr a hiatus. Mainly from the AU, really, I'll still be around, but.
Well, I went a little off the deep end and got too hyperfocused on it for my own good and I need to take a step back and let my brain like. Decompress. I also need to get back to doing adopts and commissions so I can make money cause while this blog is fun, it. Doesn't pay the bills. And tax season is coming so oops.
So, basically the blog will function much like it does during an intermission: Inbox will be open, BUT PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO AU ASKS. You can asks behind the scenes stuff and whatnot, or just about the characters in general, but nothing to try and further the plot. I'll be upfront with you, I'm barring myself from planning past this point so I can avoid the temptation!
In the meanwhile, I'll be working on other things, but you can find me on my main and my twitter if you care about what I'm up to. I'll warn you though, I largely keep my CotL content quarantined to this blog, so don't expect a terrible lot of it in either of those places.
Buuuuuuuuuut yeah! That's bout it! Thank you all for joining me on this wild ride so far. We're almost at 500 followers and I still can't believe I've managed to garner that much attention with my nonsense alone. Wowzers.

Hello everyone, quick announcement.
I'm no longer going to post on Tumblr or to Twitter. I'm going to log out of both accounts and to leave them be. I don't think I'll post again, but I'll say I'm going to go on an indefinite hiatus. I'm not going to check notifications from here anymore and at most I'll make a private Tumblr account to browse without posting anything.
I'm leaving for my mental health, I don't want to post publicly anymore. I just want to focus on getting my life together before I worry about social media. I also have not had interest in the series for a very long time, so it's better if I take a long break from focusing on it.
I will however still post sometimes on an alternative twitter account, but I don't plan to make friends or really interact with anything and I won't try to grow my account. This will be my only method of contact and the only place where I'll post art.
Amazomb/OPM will still be my main focus, but occasionally I may draw other things or talk about something else. If you want to follow that account it's @/ iiicycool on Twitter/ X. I will post only whenever I feel like it so you cannot follow expecting me to post all the time, I'll also experiment more with different art styles or dive more into suggestive or story based content. I may make it private, I'm not sure yet. So, heads up and be aware in the change of posting style if you choose to follow me there.
I have nothing else much to say, if anything changes I'll leave an update here. For now, this is a good bye. Thank you to those who have supported my art and my content, I appreciate it.
Goodbye, take care. 🫂

Please don't apologise for the rant!
It was an interesting read and everything you said made a lot of sense!
I feel really disappointed with the direction jungkook's taking tbh. His album and solo projects were the ones I was looking forward to the most since the second bts announced their hiatus and the fact that they were all going to release solo projects.
But now it's less than a month before his album debut and I'm hardly looking forward to it at all, because none of it seems to be the kind of music I could vibe with (even though his solo songs under the bts label were my favourites lol. I recognise that's a me problem but it does feel like outside of twitter a lot of people feel this way, more so than with the other members' solo works).
That might change once we receive the name of the tracks and the features and stuff, but we'll see.
Also, I think releasing 3D was honestly a bad idea because of the timing. Seven was (and is still) doing REALLY well. Super catchy, most people loved it, and it WAS new and unexpected. but the focus shifted a bit to 3D, except not everyone focused on the main version, and you can tell it's not gonna be as big of a hit.
You also mentioned on another post how the concept photos for golden appear to be very similar to seven and 3D and I can't agree more.
When you do the same thing more than once in a short period of time in a row, the hype becomes a little less because the surprise/anticipation factor is less, y'know?
Idk, I'm aware Jungkook was chilling and enjoying his break (and good for him) but that did mean he got less time to release a lot of content, so the whole idea of trying to release 2 big singles and then an album in 5 months doesn't seem like a good idea.
they could've kept it at one single with a lesser known artist (everything you pointed out about Latto is true)
and then released his album 5 months later with a slightly different vibe. Because now by the time 3D will become more accepted and more known by the general public, his album will release and the focus will be on the title track.
The timing and really everything surrounding 3D was bad all round (except for the alternate version and the performance for that because I agree it was 100 times much better)
Sorry I feel like I'm being far too negative and that frustrates me as well, I just...Jk has so much potential and is such a great singer but some of these decisions I feel won't properly help him in the long run, you know?
And especially knowing the album will likely follow the same formula as well. But he's accomplishing what he said he wanted so I guess that's something.
No, you aren't being too negative! If you are, I am too, and you're being more positive than me! The timing with 3D did suck. If you just think of it as a "gift" for the fans who were waiting for more music, then it didn't suck. From a business perspective, it wasn't the best move. The main issue was really the feature imo (though 3D's sound was never going to make a splash). Had 3D been announced as a solo, there would've been some of that shock/surprise factor and a lot more anticipation since we're all waiting for a real solo release. That would've been something to look forward to and to generate hype. A better MV would've helped too. At least 3D is kinda helping Seven in the charts...? It's gone number 1 on Spotify Global twice ever since 3D came out haha.
I'm really hoping that the album will surprise me! Tbh, boring concept photos are a BTS thing. It probably doesn't just happen to them, but I think Dynamite and Butter were the last eras to have exciting promo pics that had everyone talking about them. The concept/promo pics for Proof, for example, were super boring imo. I didn't even care for Jimin's Face promo pics and I remember a lot of people liking them. I don't think Big Hit is the best when it comes to that.
Let's see what happens, anon!
Thanks for the ask!
