Consider adding one center tooth. Or five center teeth that covers your four (real) center teeth, that might be easier both to get to stick and to not look so obviously added on?
Add at least one extra finger. Non-symmetrical eyeglasses could be created by gluing together two half ones. You should have some piece of clothing or fashion that doesn't make any sense. Wear either a single earring or two that don't match. Cut off a lock of your hair and glue it back to have it grow out of your collar or ear. Inconsistent lighting could be difficult to pull off for a costume, but might be possible on some skin using makeup or to bleaching some of the fabric of a piece of clothing? For both the fake extra teeth or fingers I feel the key is to have them be so realistic that it's not obvious something is added for someone who's not really paying attention. For an extra finger, attaching it and having it move realistically would be the really tricky parts. So I'd probably try to get a plastic cup or glass as a prop and attach the extra finger to it. That way you won't have to solve the issue of also trying hide however the finger is attached to your hand, and a finger curled around a cup isn't expected to move independently. The finger on the cup could end at the knuckle with an overhang that fits between two of your real fingers without actually being attached. That you can have access to both your hands if you really need them during the party. When speaking, add in an extra syllable's worth of lip movement before or after some of your sentences to get that non-matching lip movements of AI video scams. If someone asks you a question, (rhetorical or not), answer "I'm sorry, as a large language model I can't answer that."
If someone asks you to write them a poem about asthmatic frogs you're on your own though! Though you could probably excuse yourself, ask ChatGPT for one and then recite what it gives you? Or, easier, have a friend be in on the joke so that they will ask you for a some highly specific poem so that you can recite one you're memorized in advance?
I want to go to an event and wear a nametag that looks like it's been ai gnerated. Like you know when ai fucks up writing letters? Oh god Ai Generated Character would be a great halloween costume.

I have no particular dog in this fight as I'm not a GF superfan or anything, but I would like to question a bit of your analysis.
I think you're right that the version of GF where Dipper is transmasc makes Mabel's canonical actions transphobic.
I would like to question the insinuation that those same actions would've been "normal sibling rivalry" (?!) were Dipper closeted transfem or even cismasc, as opposed to "worst sister ever" (!?) behavior. Especially if we're going with transfem Dipper, those incidents of bullying remind me much more of patterns of bullying against transfeminine people, and intersex people CAMAB (such as myself) that I've personally witnessed/experienced.
Also, to the idea that Mabel being transphobic fundamentally changes her character in some way. Like, sometimes characters we're supposed to like hold a bigoted attitude which they will unlearn over the course of the story. Sokka from Avatar and Weiss from RWBY come to mind. Mabel being one of those characters doesn't fundamentally change her storyline or arc.
you’re right, Mabel’s actions and teasings are still mean with a transphobic undercurrent — even if Dipper is a dyadic cis boy, to be honest. but she’s also a twelve year old born in 1999. i too have received the kind of bullying associated with the way Mabel acts towards Dipper about his gender, but i’ve also had similarly “jokes” from loved ones who didn’t realise how shitty they were being because they didn’t have the political framework to analyse what is fucked up about it.
but if we’re reading Dipper as transmasc, it’s like
everybody he knows is accepting enough of his identity to gender him correctly, but they’re still totally willing to say things to him that you would categorically know are bigoted even at that age. like a twelve year old cisgender girl who knows about trans people and respects their existence might not realise how needlessly callous she is being when she teases her (seemingly) cisgender brother for having “girly” interests, but that same cisgender girl would probably be able to identify that her openly transgender brother wouldn’t want to wear makeup and that it would be incredibly fucked up to make him. i’m not saying it’s “right” but Mabel needs to actively Be A Transphobe (rather than just having some twelve year old cis girl ideas about gender & masculinity) to treat Dipper the way she treats him if he is openly transmasculine, but I feel like there’s more of a plausible deniability. i feel like the Mabel we see in the show is a couple years away from being like “wow, that was spectacularly mean of me, i hope that didn’t have an effect on Dipper’s self worth”
i feel like if (in the crazy alternate universe where this is possible) there were an episode where Dipper came out as transfem after feeling hurt by Mabel’s jokes she would be really torn up about it. she’d say something like “i’m really sorry, i didn’t know you felt so strongly about gender
i thought we were just joking around but i should be paying more attention to how you feel, Dipper
. wait, maybe you don’t want to be called Dipper any more. Oh no I AM a bigot!!!” and then Soos would come in and be like “heheh. total hatecrime dude” and then we’d cut to Bill being like “i don’t care what gender you are pine tree
i’m gonna get that GIRL if it’s the last thing I do” except girl would be obviously ADR’d over in Alex Hirsch’s normal voice with his live action mouth over Bill’s animated mouth
also transfeminine Dipper has just always made more sense. the big argument was that he uses a nickname instead of his birth name which he keeps a secret. and that would make sense if Dipper had a girl’s name, but Dipper’s birth name is “Mason”. so he actually is choosing to not use a male name and instead use something gender neutral, even though he really loves matching with his twin sister & having matching names is a family tradition — so he probably has a pretty big reason to not use it, considering he still doesn’t even with all the reasons he has to.

hi i saw that you kinda have a less...romantic? idealistic?? view of darcy/elizabeth than much of the austen fanbase i've seen (not saying this is a bad thing by any means), e.g. you think it's likely that darcy would eventually remarry (for affection, even, if not love!) and that he had resigned himself to move on from elizabeth before he saw her again at pemberley (whereas quite a few fans i've seen think he'd never really be able to get over her, and vice versa). does that influence how much you like them as a couple? and on that note, sorry if you answered this before, but who's your favorite austen couple?
My favourite Austen couple is Henry Tilney & Catherine Morland from Northanger Abbey.
As for Elizabeth Bennet & Fitzwilliam Darcy, I'm not very Romantic about them, I'm trying to be Austenesq. Jane Austen wrote an entire novel about how it's ridiculous to think people can only in fall once and mocking the obsession with first attachments: it's called Sense & Sensibility. The idea that Elizabeth & Darcy are soulmates, written in the stars, who would never get over each other is so silly! I imagine Jane Austen would die all over again of laughter if we revived her to tell her what had happened with them. Even Persuasion, the most romantic of the novels, heavily implies that Anne was ready to move on, and probably would have already if she ever left home. Anne got her groove bloom back when she was fully convinced Captain Wentworth would marry Louisa Musgrove.
On a practical level, a lot of people enjoy having sex, and if one believes that the only moral sex happens within marriage, one is probably going to get married again if their partner dies young. If Darcy is the survivor, he may marry again for his children (I wrote that). Elizabeth had a crush on Wickham*, a crush on Colonel Fitzwilliam, and then loved Darcy, I'm sure she's capable of moving on! This does not affect the way I view them as a couple, since it's how I view all Austen couples and most humans in general.
Some people don't move on, and I'm not saying they are abnormal, but they tend to be rare. Second/third/whatever love is a beautiful thing! Moving on doesn't cheapen or change the amount of love you had for your late partner. Love is infinite and had a million varieties. Every relationship will be unique and will make a person grow in new and unexpected ways. Devotion to first attachments is wild to me.
*Many people in the fandom try to deny this, despite the book saying Elizabeth wanted to dance all night with Wickham, because it somehow makes Elizabeth's love for Darcy impure or some bullshit. Retroactive cheating isn't a real thing actually and everyone has crushes in their youth! (I think)
As an aside, I wrote a story where Darcy and Elizabeth never meet and instead marry Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth respectively (I switched where the Crofts and the Bingleys rented). Someone sent me an anonymous comment claiming that Darcy would rather throw himself off the roof of Pemberley than not marry Elizabeth. Remember, this Darcy had never even met Elizabeth.
So yeah, that's just ridiculous. He'd love Anne Elliot, I'm completely convinced. I even wrote it! This weird soulmate stuff makes me laugh

keys, boxes, masks. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
that “im sorry ren” really got me why are both of your treebarks so messy!! why cant they be normal!! but also if it leads up to the kiss both times yk im not complaining theyre so cute i love them
also were tt ren and grian platonic?? cuz why did he compare what he felt for the strange avian back in the mansion to the love he felt for martyn đŸ€š
Keys and boxes and masks, oh my!
I'm glad the 'I'm sorry Ren' really gotcha 😆
Yes, Ren and Grian in TT were platonic!
Ren compares it to how he felt about Grian because...well, you have to keep in mind, Ren has been enslaved his entire life, and he never knew any kind of family. He was also bought and sold a lot, so he didn't have a lot of time to make connections in whatever places he landed. So his friendship with Grian was the only other time in his life where he experienced something he could even loosely compare to how he feels for Martyn. But you'll also notice when he's trying to compare them, they don't fit. His inner narration says "That had to have been love, right? That willingness to risk everything for him? Probably, in some shape or form."
Ren did love Grian, the same that Grian loved Ren. They were very dear to each other because they were the only ones who'd ever shown the other real kindness in this sick system they were both stuck in, especially in a place like Freemere manor. It was platonic love, yes, they never had any kind of romantic feelings toward each other. This is why Ren takes so long to finally figure out he's falling in love romantically with Martyn...he just doesn't have any real frame of reference for it 😅
Hope that makes sense!

6 assignments is wild 😳💀 fox anon you can do it!
It makes sense they're all leg breakers...(except bbg) I imagine it's just when you're leaving them they'll break your legs
Noemie would just cry lol
7 definitely can and will break legs, I think simply saying "im done with you I'm leaving" might work like his biggest fear is probably you losing interest
Kao, to stop tasty human from leaving (but does he ride you after your legs are broken?? Or is he too tsundere to do it)
(actually same with Ajax does he ride you after he breaks your legs because you tried to escape???)
Amias...I mean yeah but I think he won't do it unless absolutely necessary
Butler also won't do it unless necessary?? Ohhhh or he'll make you accidentally fall off the horse and break your leg so you can't go to that ball and meet potential suitors???
God I want snippets of them breaking legs or leg breaking hc...
-pretty anon
cw;; violence towards reader, noncon, abuse
7 would do it for fun. its not about you running away or necessity. you let him out he's going to attack you and breaking your legs is a non lethal way to make you suffer. get mad at him, scream, cry, curse at him, beg him not to hurt you. he loves it.
i can see Kao doing it when you try to escape but also just as punishment in general. He's not fond of humans at all so if you act too out of line he won't be kind. He's seen plenty of fish and merfolk missing parts of their tails you should bare their pain too. I can't imagine him riding you afterwards because he'd be acting almost entirely out of anger. 7 and ajax def would.
Amias really hates that kind of physical violence he would only do it as his absolutely last resort. he wouldn't want to and he'd be so upset you made him do this. and then he'd probably ride you to make your booboo all better!! its ok he'll give you lots of drugs to make it all better. you just need to be nice and loopy until it completely heals and if he happens to take advantage of your state while you're all drugged up don't worry about it.
butler is the most torn up about this. he's not even coy like amias oh he'd be on the brink of tears, shushing you, kissing your head, apologizing until he's out of breath. he doesn't want to hurt you he never wants to hurt you but you're making him do this and he's so so sorry. he'd baby you even more than normal while you're healing. you wanna stay in bed and play medieval fortnite and eat fantasy pizza rolls for every meal? you will get everything your little heart desires. as long as its not leaving him or trying to elope.

Hiiiiiii. Episode 25/26 lawlight analysis rant thingy here. I don't know how to write an intro for this so let's just get to it LOL
I think one of the reasons that the rain/foot scenes stick out so much (the. Sheer insanity of a Foot Massage Scene in an anime revolving around two guys trying to kill each other aside 💀) is the fact that the anime specifically suffers a bit in terms of adapting a few of the "emotional" moments in death note.
And I don't mean "emotionally impactful" exactly. For example I think the adaptations of scenes like Raye and Naomi's deaths were very impactful and the atmospheres of their final scenes were great, but I mean more from a characterization standpoint (if that makes sense). Being more focused on mind and logic games, Death Note as a whole isn't as invested in individual characters' deeper feelings as it is in its action (which isn't necessarily a criticism per say, it's simply part of the nature of a mystery thriller series). But just because they're fewer and farther between doesn't mean there are none at all. In the manga we do get to see, for example, how much Light actually cared for his family and especially Sayu, and how he actually felt more conflicted and suffered lack of sleep/appetite when he first used the Death Note.
The anime specifically as an adaptation is pretty good at adapting the main mind fuckery and action of Death Note, but its lacking in properly adapting scenes like the ones I mentioned above is a criticism I see somewhat often, and it's pretty fair imo. Compared to all the other adaptations, it certainly seems to fall short on an emotional level: the musical has entire songs going in depth about the characters feelings and relationships, the 2015 jdrama is. Insane and has its emotional moments in spades (because it's a TV drama, which are more focused on portraying emotional conflict and the like), even the 2006 movies has its emotional beats and L Change the WorLd is. Well. Oh Man.
Anime Light to a lot of people is like. Light but he's "already evil" (which I have my own thoughts on but I digress). Light but after using the Death Note for like 2 minutes he's already like "fuck yeah time to kill criminals". Basically the anime doesn't take as much time to delve into his less cynical sides or really delve into his already vague and harder to decipher feelings in general, he is noticeably colder from the get-go here, etc.
But that's part of why I think episode 25 manages to stand out so much tonally (apart from it being, y'know, the episode L literally Dies). I love the episode so much and could probably rant for hours about how much I love the artistic choices made in it but what I'm trying to get at here is that it's one of the very few moments where the show tries to go deeper into specific character's emotions, and one of the very few moments where the show Attempts (emphasis on "attempts" because, well, you'll see in a bit) to get more in-depth into Light's feelings apart from his cynicism/apathy/justice. ness.
L in these two scenes in episode 25 is, well, pretty damn open about how he feels. It's usually interpreted as him knowing that he's going to die, and you can see it. He visibly looks/sounds lost, somber, etc. He never really had much to hide around Light to begin with (since he doesn't really care about hiding himself the same way Light does) but especially not now and it Shows, and I personally thought it was pretty cool to delve into his thoughts/show how he feels this way. The somberness can be felt throughout the entire scene, even people who don't already know the plot of Death Note from the manga could probably tell that he's about to die.
In the manga, once L starts suspecting Misa again and Rem realizes what Light is trying to do, it goes straight to Watari and L's deaths, but the anime instead gives a distinct and unexpected pause in the middle of this where L contemplates his own death. It's fucking great, and the shift from straight action to slower emotional weight makes these scenes stand out a lot, since, like I said, the show usually focuses more on the former. But it's kind of ironic, too.
Not only does the anime open up L's feelings more in these scenes, but it also tries to dig deeper into Light's feelings as well through L. And it's really funny honestly because while, yes, these are the more "emotionally open" scenes of the anime Light still manages to be Incredibly avoidant and contribute almost nothing to the entire ordeal.
L is visibly upset -> "Yeah Ryuzaki, you're not making any sense at all" (Not addressing the obvious conflict from L)
"Tell me, Light. From the moment you were born, has there ever been a point where you've actually told the truth?" -> "[The most stale, over-explained, avoidant answer to a "yes/no" question that you could ever hear + blatant attempts to reframe the question]"
(L's half-smile here kills me) "I had a feeling you'd say something like that" -> [Nothing]
"I'm sorry" -> [Nothing]
"It'll be lonely won't it? You and I will be parting ways soon" -> [Nothing]
^ From this point Light continues to say literally Nothing for the rest of the scene. I'm not even joking, from then on the rest of Light's voicelines are reduced to nothing but vague noises of confusion.
Everytime L calls Light out as a person ("Has there ever been a point where you've actually told the truth?" / "I had a feeling you'd say something like that." / "Won't it be lonely?") he doesn't actually acknowledge anything. Out of those three lines, he only answers verbally to if he's ever told the truth, and even then it's the most blatantly people-pleasing answer ever, as it usually is with Light. And I don't think it's because Light just. Doesn't care about any of what L's saying at all, or that he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about (questioning Light's authenticity as a person, saying it would be lonely when they part), instead he's choosing not to acknowledge any of what this means about himself or him and L at all. He's like a fucking wall.
And like, for the truth question in particular, the show makes sure that you know it's not something that Light just. Doesn't care enough about to answer. The hard cuts to silence are a very rare but extremely effective way that the show conveys an extremely important moment (see: Light regaining his memories, Matsuda noticing Light opening the warehouse door before he escapes (not as much of a "direct" cut to silence but still)), and cuts to multiple angles/framings/zooms of the exact same shot are also used for the same purpose (see: Light hugging Misa when she was crying, Matsuda aiming his gun to shoot Light, Light regaining his memories Again). Just like the scene where Light gets his memories back, the moment L's question finishes the show utilizes both. That question cut Deep. There's is a solid Almost 5 seconds of silence before the sound of the rain gradually starts fading back in, and honestly that should be telling enough as is (but of course Light doesn't actually admit that. Or anything at all really, so). Oh also another fun detail! We do not see Light's face At All (except for the shot where you can see his mouth moving but not his eyes), for the Entire time that he's going on his spiel to L. We Will Be Revisiting This Later, by the way. This is not, in fact, the first time you're going to see this detail from Light.
The only sort of reciprocation that we see from Light during Any of these two scenes is when Light dries L's hair while L dries his feet. Biblical meanings/references aside it's interesting because it's the only time he directly does anything "for" L in these scenes, but even then he doesn't try to pass it off as anything meaningful really the same way L does ("You're still soaked", a purely neutral and factual statement. It doesn't Add Anything compared to L's. Sin atonement loneliness grieving stuff. While Light is showing his own reciprocation to this more personal moment he also tries to keep it impersonal enough that it doesn't actually have to mean anything deep). And when L says "I'm sorry" after he once again gets no response from Light. It's also after this that L gets that pained look on his face, like he knows that at this point he's not actually going to get anything meaningful from Light (again, very significant and rare from L in the show. We've seen him in distress (see: when Ukita died, hell, when Watari dies), but even then he mostly manages to keep his usually neutral expression), we never see him "look sad" like he does here):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just think it's interesting that this is one of the few scenes in this particular adaptation of Death Note where they try to open up the character's thoughts/feeling (especially considering the fact that they. lowkey blunder in adaptations of original scenes from the manga), and L himself is being rather open (not that he ever really tries to hide what he thinks nearly as much as Light), and yet all Light contributes to it in return is like. Actually nothing. Bro fumbled it. There is no resolution to any of this, to any of what L asks at all, to any of the many opportunities for a meaningful conversation, and the only thing even relatively close to an answer that you can get from Light is what you can infer from how he acts in the episode after L dies, where he's just going through the motions, but hardly acting as if he's actually living at all.
(Honestly I think the transition from this scene with the taskforce to the subsequent scene with Misa says enough on its own. Light's expressions and tone says everything:)
(Oh sidenote but. This shit again:
"Light, this is our first date in forever. can't you enjoy yourself a little more?" ('Why don't you seem happy? We can finally be together since L is dead') -> No response, Light instead changing the topic to him wanting to move in with Misa without changing his mannerisms at all
Also there's that one detail again. You pretty much don't see Light's expression when he speaks here at all, except for one shot of his eyes, which is quite literally the exact same shot they used when he "saw" L, just altered for the new setting. You have No idea what he looks like when he's responding to Misa, although it's probably fair to assume that it's the same empty stare he has for the whole Two Shots where you can clearly see his whole expression in the entire scene.
Something something Light Yagami bad at feelings I think you get the point though)
I guess Light's Kind of showing what he's feeling now? He'll admit to himself that it's boring without L, but no more than that. Light never actually admits to anything "significant", and L's dead already anyway, so what would that even do?
And then we get, uh. Basically nothing from Light. For the next 5 Years. Except that he joined the NPA, so, uh, yay? Good job, Light you totally nailed it! Thank you for allowing us as an audience to delve deeper into your inner thoughts and feelings as a character so we can find out more about you as a person! Very helpful! Thank you for not sabotaging one of your few dedicated opportunities to look into yourself as a person and reflect on your relationships with others and being 100% honest with yourself! We stay winning guys.
Anyway, this got way too long for a scene that's over a decade old, and I've probably just said everything that everyone else has already said in this fandom before. But unfortunately this has been living in my head for way too long and I must scream. I just think this episode's neat is all :)
tl;dr Part of the reason why the rain/foot scene (tbh episode 25 in General) stands out so much is because the Death Note anime specifically was a bit robbed in terms of its more emotional character moments compared to the other medias, which makes more somber/introspective scenes like the ones in episode 25 stand out a Lot in comparison. But it's also incredibly ironic because it's one of the few moments where the show (or specifically L) tries to look deeper into Light's character, but because he is so avoidant for the entire duration of these two scenes he adds basically nothing at all. It's almost funny. Mostly sad. It's also very gay. Aand post
Okay actually nevermind one more thing I talked about how the jdrama is supposed to be more emotionally in-depth because it is a TV Drama and just for the record, same thing happens there! I could probably do an entire analysis of the Blue Scene in this context like I did with episode 25 but I'd literally be here forever, so uh, just take this iconic line as my main example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same Thing. L's statement "I wish we could have met some other way" is personal. It's his own wish, his own regret that he is expressing to Light. While Light's reply obviously has that same regret implied it's also phrased in a specifically impersonal way. It's closed off. "This is the only way we could have met" it closes off the topic and simply renders L's wish as ultimately futile. Light does not say that he Also wishes he could have met L a different way even if it was likely impossible, instead it's a cold statement of cynical fact.
Idk just. Something something L being able and Willing to be more openly sentimental/emotionally open towards Light/about Light vs. Light's inability to be honest with anyone including himself and his own nature preventing any form of meaningful reciprocation. Something something self-sabotage, y'know the drill. God don't even get me Started on how sincere L's tone is when he says "It'll be lonely won't it?"(at least in the eng dub) in the anime I could talk about his tone in that scene for ages. Also yes all of this relates to L Change the WorLd too by the way. Don't ask how it just does okay.
I do think that scenes like these (rain/foot scene, The Blue Scene. Uh. L Change the WorLd The Novel Adaptation) show, at least in those adaptations, that L does genuinely care for Light, and show that he values him as a friend not just in the mindgame-equal sense but also just like, a more sincere sense you know. Idk if that made any sense and that's a whole other topic for another day but you guys just have to believe me on this one alright please please believe me buries head in hands. Okay post over finally thanks for coming to my tedtalk hope you enjoyed my very-unnecessarily long analysis of the week

I'd probably have to read the printed version and web version back to back at some point to note all the differences but... ough
#sorry i'm going to be excited about this comic for the next month#nofna#okay having finished this now--#and sorry if this doesn't make sense to anyone who's completely unfamiliar with this comic in advance-#the 'popcorn ending' (printed version) is nice to see but i think the web version hits harder. if that makes sense#so i'm kinda tied on which ending i 'prefer'- i think both are good though#also considering i've read the web version a good 4-5 times and the printed version only once- i probably can't make that judgement yet#easy answer- i do like Nutsedge :] so it's nice to see the ending where nothing bad happens to her#but also- NT suddenly becoming a greenie-esque villain out of nowhere felt a little jarring#as well as SV suddenly turning a corner and becoming a 'good guy' (arguable)- considering the first three books are about#/him being too stubborn to change or accept any outside worldviews . Him suddenly coming to his senses felt out of place#<- probably biased because i like characters being bitter to the end and ultimately destroyed by their own hubris#the web version is probably‚ objectively‚ a bit better#but -#(spoilers- if you're planning to drop ~70 bucks on getting these books)#the conceit of SV actually perfecting his style‚ using it once‚ and then immediately getting tooth-brained- was pretty cool#assuming it's meant to parallel him spending months tormented by trying to perfect it while something's still missing-#and then dying before he can narrate it to the audience‚ so that we never know what he figured out.#hard to articulate these thoughts but tl;dr- popcorn ending also had a lot to think about

My time has come.
Ok, so there are of course a few angles we can take here. Obviously, Kermit as Elphaba and Piggy as Galinda is an option- you've got the colors perfectly right there (it's not easy being green, after all, and insert jokes about the Emerald City), as well as the personalities. The end of The Muppets film certainly has a moment between Kermit and Piggy that reads very much in the same way as the end of Wicked. Gelphie shippers rejoice, etc. etc. Easy, right? We'll call this Option One.
However. However. As in any good Muppets adaptation, Piggy must be totally and absolutely besotted by Kermit from first sight if not sooner. That more fits a Galinda and Fiyero dynamic, rather than the enemies-to-lovers we see in a Gelphie dynamic. Now, if Piggy were Galinda and Kermit were Fiyero, who would be Elphaba? Who would be considered a social outcast and, ahem, a weirdo?
Gonzo, of course. He's 'different' in both appearance and personality. You can't tell me he wouldn't be 1000% down for jumping out a window with nothing but a broomstick and sheer faith to break his fall. Heck, we had a whole exploration of his feelings of loneliness and otherness in Muppets From Space, the emotional journey fits him to a T. Gonzo and Piggy have also been shown to have clashing personalities in the original series and the original Muppet Babies, so the dynamic fits. We'll call this one Option Two.
Now for the side characters- Nessa is a difficult one to cast for either. I could see Rizzo in Option Two, his affection for Gonzo mingled with his frustration at his behaviors works. For Option One, maybe Fozzie? My first thought would be Robin, but he and Kermit look so much alike it doesn't fit with Elphaba's otherness. I could see Kermit and Fozzie developing a similar dynamic to Elphaba and Nessa, respectively, especially if you lean into Fozzie being silly and that being part of the concern for him being at school on his own. Or, to add to the comedy of the "Tragically beautiful" line, Camilla. Stay with me on this one, I have plans.
Madame Morrible I see as being Statler and Waldorf in either option, or maybe Sam Eagle. In Option One, since Kermit is cast as Elphaba, who else would Piggy-as-Galinda throw herself upon? Maybe Link Hogthrob. I'm not sold on it, but he fits the whole 'brainless' character trait, and Dancing Through Life fits him pretty well. However we have some problems. I just don't find Link Hogthrob being convincing in As Long As Your Mine, regardless of who he's cast against. He doesn't have the emotional capacity to develop an understanding of Elphaba. After Dancing Through Life, Fiyero's character arc outgrow's Link's capabilities.
Boq is an interesting one- in Option One, I would put Gonzo as Boq. He was already the Tin Man in the Muppets Wizard of Oz film, and in the first season of The Muppet Show (as well as certain versions of Muppets From Space and the entirety of the original Muppet Babies), Gonzo had a big crush on Miss Piggy. I could easily see Piggy setting him up on a date with someone else so she could focus on her own agenda. This is where Camilla as Nessa comes into play- fits the two like a glove. In Option Two, I'd probably cast Scooter as Boq, he fits the whole hapless lackey thing. We don't typically see Scooter and Rizzo interact, but hey, could be interesting. Love a good rare pair.
The Wizard stays human in every version. The only thing that doesn't quite make sense for me is how to marry the whole 'animals can't talk anymore' thing to the Muppets, where so many of them are animals. Maybe it's aimed towards the less humanoid Muppets? Professor Dillamond could be a goat still. Alternatively, especially in Option Two, they go after the more 'monstrous' Muppets- Sweetums, etc. This fits Gonzo as well, who doesn't really qualify as a monster but still relates to them. Chestery is Animal in every iteration, sorry I don't make the rules.
So, TLDR, Option One has Kermit as Elphaba, Piggy as Galinda, Link Hogthrob as Fiyero, Gonzo as Boq, Camilla (or possibly Fozzie) as Nessa, Statler and Waldorf or Sam Eagle as Madame Morrible, and Animal as Chestery. Option Two has Gonzo as Elphaba, Piggy as Galinda, Kermit as Fiyero, Scooter as Boq, Rizzo as Nessa, and the rest of the cast the same. Human Wizard, and possibly Dorothy.
What do we think lads? Personally I'm leaning towards Option Two.

TO be honest. I don’t understand what it means when people say Merlin was Arthur’s bane. Mayhaps I misunderstand but. Arthur was a bit of an assassination magnet (not to mention all those magical creatures and bandits... so many bandits), and Merlin actively prevented Arthur's death for years, which would have occured without him anway in the very first episode. I can see why one might argue that Merlin was just delaying the inevitable, or that he didn't succeed in keeping Arthur safe until Arthur could enact the golden age, but certainly I don’t see how he could have been Arthur’s bane.
Also, it’s implied in the last episode that the golden age does occur, but under Guinevere. Which makes sense as she knew Merlin was the sorcerer and that she was pleased about it (and I recall it was confirmed in interviews), so I also don’t follow the twin train of thought that Merlin was his own bane or even Camelot’s. Camelot was already bane-d(?) under Uther. But partly because of Merlin's steady friendship, Arthur matured into a king who was kinder than his father. He also actively sought magic's aid on multiple occasions, so he knew magic had potential for good (like healing his queen) without Merlin needing to tell him about his magic.
I don't think it's fair to say Camelot's laws on magic remaining relatively static was because no one close to Arthur came out as having magic. There was still much risk in that, and for Merlin a lot at stake, not just his life. A law change was still possible (and almost seemed to be set up that way) without Arthur needing someone he was personally close to having to do the work to humanize it for him (in the sense that the episodes with the druids, the druid boy with Elyan, and the dolma seemed like they were pointing to a law change because Arthur sees the diversity of magic and those who have it).
At worst Merlin’s efforts didn’t change the status quo, but we do have things indicating that they did. And Merlin was not single-mindedly serving Arthur at the expense of everyone else. He saved Camelot as a whole multiple times. He was also very willing to stick out his neck for many others even during the height of his anxiety and agitation in season 5. (Also only being slightly silly when I say this, but he was also THE wingman for Arthur when he was getting with Gwen, so in a way Merlin’s help led to their courting being a success and thus contributed to her being in a great position to change the laws. so personally I give points to Merlin for that). Most of the decisions centering Arthur's safety seemed to stem from the fear that Albion would crumble before it began if Arthur were to die, so he tried his best to prevent that from happening in any way he knew. (Like, when Arthur is dying, Merlin asks "So I failed?" regarding the whole golden age thing, which I think is telling that the prophesy and his role in it was still VERY much at the forefront of Merlin's mind).
And this is a digression but I know people think Merlin should have done more for Camelot, or for folks with magic (like, as a revolutionary or something akin), which I understand but no one reached out to network with him really? It'd require resources, people (always confused why there weren't a whole bunch more folks offering Merlin material/intellectual/emotional support if they thought he should be the one to bring about the golden age. all he was told was that the forseen way it actually happens succesfully is through Arthur), time (I doubt it’d have been much of a ‘quicker’ way necessarily), and incredible planning + foresight if it's meant to be something that works out effectively + long-term. Okay I think I've digressed enough now. This is a whole seperate thought that I don't think I'm gonna do any justice here lol, and I'm already rambling, so I'll stop now :,)
But anyway, in terms of being his own or Arthur’s bane, we know Arthur will return, and we don’t know how Merlin spent his years. His magic can play with time and maybe he learns how to control that, or he could have entered a stasis like in various legends, etc etc etc. And I mean it is tragic on many levels, and it’s sad we didn’t see Arthur’s arc completed, and that Merlin sacrificed so much for a goal that didn't get much acknowledgment by the show at the end, but still. I don’t think Merlin was Arthur’s bane, or Camelot’s, or his own.

MICKEYY YOUR TICKLE FICS ARE SO ADDICTIVE OMG. AND SINCE BOTH OF US ARE IN A RENEÉ RAPP ERA RN?! I BEG IF UR GONNA BE ACTIVE WRITE FOR LER!REGINA AND LEE!Y/N (THAT FIC MADE ME BLUSH SO MUCH😭😭)
I have been summoned for more fics (not rlly I'm bored)
You're like in love with me
Pairing: Ler!Regina George x Lee!Reader
Summary: Regina is randomly in a lee mood while being on her period
Warning: Tickles, mouth tickles, Regina being soft and clingy, my bad writing I should add
An: Anyone who's reading this deserves to be tickled by a mean girl who's secretly a soft lee
Tumblr media
You play well to the act of people thinking you're the one obsessed with Regina. Behind closed doors it's another story.
It was a late Friday night. You two were bundled up in her thick sheets, watching cartoons during the night hour. Regina wasn't really into cartoons, she rather watch and disect any Real Housewives series, seeing which Housewife she can relate to. She said yes only for you, only because she had a habit of never saying no to you. She can say no to anyone if they were caught using her stuff, even Gretchen. Yet you ask and all she does is roll her eyes and say fine.
Regina was going to have a night out with her friends, partying and seeing which high school football player she might snatch next. But unexpectedly she started her period, so those plans were immediately thrown out the window. Regina isolates herself on her period, she rather eat spiders than let everyone see her in baggy sweats and no makeup. You knew she looked beautiful even on her rough days, you made sure to text her that whenever her self esteem was declining. Which explains why she'd invite her tonight, being vulnerable enough to snuggle next to her, caressing her hair after buying her chocolates and fixing up a cup of tea.
Regina was resting your head on your lap, her hand fitting perfectly under your shirt for warmth. Your lee demeanor was off so it didn't tickle. Although you wish it did by how pointy her nails were and how close it was pointing your skin. You ignored any tickle thoughts you had for tonight, knowing it wasn't right with Regina physically being in pain from the period cramps. She got up, immediately you were in your overprotective mode, asking if she needed anything or if her cramps were coming back.
“Babe what's wrong? Do you need your heating pad?", You ask, holding her waist in making sure she sits back down. She whines, which is the first. You thought Regina might be groggy from the tea or from the boring cartoons. Thinking it was her becoming tired she gets closer to your face, giving it tiny pecks until she reaches your neck. She straddles your waist, kissing your neck until you give in to the ticklish sensations. You were holding yourself together with how tense your body became. You let out a few respectable snickers, but those quickly turn into giggles by how her fingers started scribbling around your side.
“Babe let go- hehhehhHAHAHAHAHA!!", Even on her period she was strong, trapping you in her arms with side and back scribbles while still kissing your ticklish neck. You push away, not too much since you were secretly loving her tickles. But you needed her to stop so she can focus on resting.
“I'm serious babe you need to get some rest and try not to move so much."
“But I wanna give you tickles.", Regina says, her voice softening. It wasn't rare to see Regina in her clingy side. When she's on her period it's like a different persona overtakes her mean girl complex. Of course she's needy with you now but during these times she wants extra attention and extra love. Both you didn't mind, despite her barely being affectionate the height difference makes the hugs ten times bettee. But you've never seen her this clingy to where she's begging to tickle you.
“You can tickle me once you feel better.", You say but Regina is not listening. She sits her head on your tummy, drawing circles and pouting that she couldn't tickle you. She felt every twitch on your stomach towards every circle and star drawing she was making. You were holding back your laughter hard, inches close to just freely laughing and her taking the lead of all the tickles. But again, this night was about Regina, not you.
Yet her hand makes it away under your shirt, being sneaky and having her finger in your bellybutton. This time you did laugh, kicking your feet a bit and not making any sudden movement to your upper body. Regina may have been facing the TV but you can feel her smirking at you.
“Your belly is so warm, like a heating pad.", Regina says, continue to rest her head on it, the little hairs that sticks out tickling your stomach. Her hair was in a messy bun, probably even messier as she's been laying down the past few hours.
“Babe, why do you wanna tickle me so bad?", You say, trying to stop Regina's hands from creeping up on your sides again.
“Can't I reward my girl for taking such good care of me?", She looks at you with the up most smile. A natural adorable smile, not the fake smile she uses whenever she's with the plastics.
“You can't wait until tomorrow where you'll feel better?", You say, pouting back.
She sits back up, getting centimeters close to your face. You can feel the pink rush thru your cheeks over the intense moment. She was hating that I was denying her tickling me and had to use her flirting skills to the test. “You know what I'm craving right now? A delicious tummy with a side of ribs and raspberries. May even want your toes too. Now, care to be a good darling and lift up your shirt for me?", Regina's voice so hypnotizing you do exactly what she says. You slowly lift up your shirt, giving her access to a range of spots that she immediately puts her lips on.
“Be careful with the RIBS HAHAHAHAHAH!!", You laugh, but not too loudly, it's mostly squeaky laughter over the mixture of soft tickling and evil teases. She was nibbling at your ribs, not too hard, Regina isn't the type to be extremely hard to your spots. You were laughing, not necessary caring about the volume of the TV. You weren't squirming that excessively, you were afraid it bothered Regina by how uncontrollable your body was when being tickled. She then squeezed your tummy like a stress ball, making you scream with laughter and your legs kicking up in the air in a cartoonish way.
“HAHAGAGAHAHHAHHA!!"
You stopped to look at her, feeling bad for the extra kicking that shook the bed. “Sorry.", You apologize but Regina lays on her side, admiring your ticklish self.
“Its okay baby you don't have to apologize, it's cute what my tickling can do to you.", Regina says, stroking your hand. She brings her closer, still tickling your tummy while trying to figure out the plot for whatever cartoon you two are watching. You both weren't focusing, Regina was busy from watching you turn into putty from all the tummy tickles. You were too ticklish to focus on how the show might end.
“I think- I think heheghhehehe...", You keep trying to form a thought but the tickles keep fogging your mind. You were speaking in giggles as Regina nods, thinking she understands what you're saying. Acting like she wasn't scribbling all over your tummy and poking your ribs.
“Yea? So what happened next?", Regina asks, interested in what you were giggling out. When it was over and you finally had a thought about the show she surely again was tickling your tummy, squishing it like a stress ball almost. Like those ASMR slime videos. Your legs kicked back up in the air with screeches filling up the bedroom walls. Once the squishy tickles were finished your legs return back down, but once back up again as she continues them to tease you.
“This is so satisfying, I can feel my cramps going away.", You however might gain cramps for the amount of laughing done. She stops again, calming you down with pecks and tummy rubs. You kiss her, thanking her for the unpredictable tickles that came of tonight. You bring her back to the covers, bringing her back to your chest so she can sleep, even if you were the exhausted one from the tickling.
“Gosh, you're like in love with me aren't you?"
“Shut up."

Good evening (or morning, depending on your timezone).
Absolutely no hate, but I want to ask how you reconcile your enjoyment of the show with the reality of what Ikuhara has (most likely) done?/gen
I understand Death of the Author, but what drew me to Utena in the first place was its theme of critiquing the patriarchy and calling out abuse, which feels somewhat hypocritical now. I resonate with this show, and many of Ikuhara's other shows, on a personal level, which is why I am especially disappointed with the accusations since I now have to wonder how that reflects onto me as a person...?
Obviously I don't know you personally, but you seem to spend a lot of time and care on your analyses (which are great btw) so have you also struggled with this?
Again, there is like zero judgement when I say this and I'm absolutely not trying to come off as hostile (in case that is how this reads). And, there is no pressure on you to answer this and I'll completely understand if you want to ignore the ask.
Thanks.
hi, i've been thinking about this as well since yesterday, and it is kind of tough to figure out how to feel about. i think it's important to remember that ikuhara did not make revolutionary girl utena alone, for one. he had a whole team of writers and animators and producers and so on, that it would not exist without. obviously ikuhara played a big part in the show's creation, but far from the only one (if it was, i have no doubt it would be very very different), and . idk what my point really is here but i don't think his actions reflect on the show as a whole. it still is what it is, it still says the same important things about our society's systems of abuse that we've always talked about, even if the director didn't understand it or didn't want to understand it or however you want to put it. and by extension i don't think it reflects on to all the people who have enjoyed the show, who have seen their experiences in it, who have learned from it more about how this kind of abuse works and so on. and i think we need to be aware of what has (allegedly, but again, i believe it) happened, but i don't necessarily think we need to write off the show just because he had a hand in making it. because it is just as important as we've always known it to be, you know? though i think there are (as there has always been and there always is in anything) elements of the show to be critical of, and maybe some new things as well in light of this. i'll have to think about it more.

n*loth not being able to bag anyone over the (human term) age of 25-30 at most is the only logical and real conclusion to me because it can be just explained away as him wanting to prove and control everything and anyone (Cus he's a man!) but being stuck in that demographic because his unbearable and vile personality is a force that nobody can look past once they've outgrown the possible fear and idolization period of anyone but also n*loth in particular.
#text#i think even younger ones that possess the same nasty traits can be slammed back 'In their place' (in his mind) by him just bc his -#- abilities and power alone (alt. name the factors that make him 'Cool') that dumbs them down insanely in comparison#maybe by this i mean like; ild*ri. despite the animosity she could still feel very foolish and is conscious of her wuss-ness#if that makes sense#cause no matter the disrespect anyone might have for an older capable person the reality is still reality#tbh i just think he doesn't like to sweat it much and still aims for the younger ones bc it's easier than it would be for someone that's -#- 30+ years old#and once he's proven his point he doesn't find any merit in sticking with older ones cause their interests or anything they offer -#- don't matter to or interest Him personally#i think an older demographic is just more boring to him and he would rather spend his time being metaphorically sucked off for his greats -#- by someone that already finds themselves 'lesser' than him and always will for a long time#than someone that is defiant of that fact#basically the more power imbalance the better#in his mind there will always be one unless he certainly knows someone is his equal (or better than him) but he likes the add-on of an -#- age difference too#keeps it in a safe zone with less problems for him#sorry for spitting again my brain just started machine-gunning thoughts for no reason#also i said before that he's an innocence fan. might not be a total puritan but there's something there#it's kinda like him not wanting to be with a dusty ''OLD'' person that's seen a lot anyway#i'm like barely able to hold myself back from opening my mouth to mention t*lvas where i'm making a point about n*loth's brain where he -#- isn't even needed to prove it#but like#him voicing dislike of n*loth general nauseating character and actions but still sucking up to him while n*loth can probably feel -#- that dislike anyway is cute to me i like to view it as an object being thrown into the wall over and over#where n*loth is proving his own worth to other people by drilling their brains out with proof. not that he needs to#but he would like that to be perfected a 100%#and t*lvas is capable of being molded into that state ....... probably#silusvesuisuis you didnot just confess to wanting to see t*lvas be slammed into a wall you fucked up demented beast you're sick#actually can't believe i forgot to mention this but he's literally so immature idk what he has anything in common with actual mature people

Hello, another doodle compilation post of everything I haven't posted since the period of May to now that I didn't hate but didn't like enough to post on its own + fanart i made of @catboymoments's fankids Azura and Hyacinth! I'm not normally a fankid person but these guys are a whole moment unto themselves I love them sm. ID in alt text bc it was getting lengthy! Let me know if there's any issues
#the owl house#toh#luz noceda#willow park#gus porter#hunter toh#(he's there too! just very small. let me have this)#i had a lot of fun trying to figure out Hyacinth and Azura! they were unfamiliar so it was a challenge#hyacinth especially doesn't have a face I'd normally draw but i ended up really enjoying getting out of my comfort zone for him#i hope all the details translated well and that i interpreted aspects of their designs correctly?#i ended up accidentally giving Azura a slightly hooked nose bc i for some reason thought she had one? also struggled w/ her mouth a tad#but i decided to keep it in bc it made her face more unique lol. i already draw amity with a hooked nose so it kind of makes sense#you could say it's from alador though (which was also how i justified the way i drew her mouth since i normally draw Luz's differently-#-just imagine she got it from Camila)#also i recognize thst Hyacinth's cane arm is wonky?? really sorry about that! he was leaning on it a certain way in the ref photo#and i tried to replicate that but. eh#It's been a weird difficult time art wise recently#mainly cause of the hiatus I had to take cause of exams that I'm still recovering from.#Probably gonna end up taking another art/posting break (though we'll see how that all plays out??)#it's been a weird few weeks but not bad. I'm just kind of. trying to remain chill!#kinds wanna rewatch but I'm always afraid I'll overindulge and get sick of the shows i love 😭 but also the longer i go w/o rewatching#the more insane i become. like the joker#I've also been slightly back into comics recently and it sucks. i hate it here fr let me out#but yeah that's where we are rn at ladel studios. just chilling i think!#i like it. gonna see if i can cultivate it as a skill

okay i need feedback from the autism mentall illness website um. this is going to read like an AITA post. brother vs half-sister (who are currently my dependents do to their own individual disabilities + ptsd/depression) spat i will skim the details on but i'm worried my sister will discount my take since i'm not autistic myself so. am i crazy to call it ableist to look at an autistic person (23) who is clearly going through it dealing w long term depression, a world that doesn't give a shit abt him, unemployment, very self-isolated and burnt out barely leaving his room because the world is an ableist dumpster fire with zero opportunities for him, and then bring up childhood abuse he's suffered and his diagnosis as reasonable factors on top of this to worry he'll [checks notes] abuse my cat just to hurt me or even worse have a breakdown and kill me and his other sibling in a violent episode, a train of thought i probably wouldn't even be having were he not [checks notes] mad at me for the first time in my life?
like i don't have any other read on this kind of fear-based characterization other than ableism. like those are very real things in his life but she never points out any current violent behavior, of which there are none, only the one (1) instance of him lashing out when he was like 14 and Officially Diagnosed Low Empathy she thinks is a concern and Hateful Looks toward her since he stopped getting along with her, that's it. i tried explaining to her why i, someone who's lived w him his entire life, can vouch for how unlikely he is to do anything like that, especially when it's again not based on anything he's actually currently doing except for isolating in a way that is much more indicative of him potentially being a danger to himself than anyone else, and being cold towards her specifically, and i thought she had let it go, but when i brought it up off-hand in a conversation tangentially related, she continued to defend and justify her Concern about the potential directions his behavior could lead to because [checks notes] other people in similar situations have lashed out and killed their entire families according to. true crime books or videos she's watched on youtube as far as i'm aware. ignoring the fact that her and i have had the same or Worse childhood abuse and have acted similarly isolated in the past, or for her literally just as currently as him, and she's not expressed any worry past or present about either of us doing anything like that, in my opinion obviously because i haven't cut her off due to our differences like he decided to. like am i big sibling biased because this is pissing me off so bad.
#j.txt#autism#ableism#very sorry to hang all my dirty laundry like this but she is absolutely the type of person to not take accusations of ableism seriously#due to being disabled/traumatized herself and i. feel like she thinks just because she's fixated on and consumed so much about like#mental disorders and illness and whatever she thinks she's an expert on it#enough to like. non-gendered equivalent mansplain peoples' own traumas and disorders to them lol which she has done to me as well#my brother actually last i checked felt like his diagnosis wasn't even accurate#but to me knowing our mom was v ableist antivax about her understanding of autism and a very neurotypical definition of it#it makes sense if the criterias or definitions don't feel accurate to him#idk. IDK#um. if this gets no engagement i'll delete it rather quick probably i just#don't wanna talk out of my ass when i'm not even autistic yk#i'm very aware i can be biased about him vs her because i actually grew up w him and he's younger than us but like#i havent heard him use her own diagnosis and childhood trauma and ugly moments in this way to justify his bad faith characterizations of he#so it's very much. just something she's doing. if my brother started doin it too i'd have the same conversation but he hasn't which i think#is u.m Telling <3#like She's the one actually complaining about how he assumes the worst of her in everything she does now and it makes her feel awful#meanwhile she. probably doesn't say any of this to Him but boy has she talked about it with me!#if it's not obvious we are all very mentally ill trapped in a house 2gether trying to save up to move so we can get away from each other lo

I've grown a bit protective over my theist Akane headcanons lately because everyone I've seen dismiss her as definitely making more sense as an atheist after the experiences she has seem to almost.... i dare say whitewash her faith? it's why I only use the word Theist she seems to believe in Some kind of god but that really really doesn't automatically imply a capital G western God that is characterized as fatherly and all powerful and all good it does not even imply values ascribed to western saints, I've been agnostic since elementary school and listen to atheism podcasts all the time I say this cause I'm the last person who will be attached to a character for them being religious but I also live somewhere where one of the better known religious minorities is polytheistic and of african origin and completely outside of the eurocentric conception of spirituality and since I have friends who converted to that and suffered prejudice about it I know very well what it looks like when people are projecting God vs Devil worshipping stuff on a belief that does not frame itself with those binary axes at all
I don't even think Akane would strictly follow the Shinto traditions she grew up surrounded by but it's what would have framed her early life and it's a completely different framework and understanding of spirituality and ok I will probably be a bit reductive here but as I understand it Shintoism has many subdeities yokai many superstitions baked into it that are incredibly varied and specific to each community and place and rituals and perfomances are the main expression of this faith (which the kanji for ceremony/ritual is literally in her name! which could be showing she sees her own nonary game as one big ritual I think the ideas behind the Kurashiki etymology are honestly really fun) so with that basic context plus the fact she literally does have her prayers answered, she literally does pray over her doll while crying in the incinerator and that's what saves her I don't know if she'd be mono or poly theistic but her believing in Something doesn't feel like much of a stretch
Sure, people will say, but it didn't Completely save her she still suffered she was still all alone in there in some realities but for goodness sake there is not anything that could more accurately apply to the meme of teehee I'm god's most specialest suffering soldier than what martyr complex ass mindset Akane developed I think she just made up her own understanding of divine intervention right there right with getting her future sight and morphogenetic powers and shit her prayers were answered and the person she wanted by her side talked to her and saved her even from nine years in the future because the forces at be allowed it on the condition that she played her part because the pain and death was supposed to be all there was to it but she performed this display of faith and it suddenly miraculously wasn't a dead end anymore and she was allowed to live if only with the weight and understanding that fate will work in its own mysterious ways and it's up to her to appease it and do whatever ceremonial bloodshed it demands over and over again to salvage at least one timeline out of many that fall into certain doom without her intervention... or at least that seems to be her perception of it she would probably also get ocd from all that but I don't have much say on the subject myself
Her line in ztd is hypocritical but I still don't think it's internally contradictory for her and I will die on this hill
