I recently saw a person comment that Rogue was better off without Remy in her life.... My brother in Christ she literally went on a rampage. She tried to kill a man. She tried to kill several people in trying to kill that man. She fell into a coma in part as a result of this. She literally tried to join magneto against humanity. Her actions in helping magneto unintentionally lead to wolverines fucking bones getting stolen. And you think she's better off without him? I love rogue so much but she makes some objectively pretty bad decisions when she's had her emotional support Cajun forcibly removed from her.

And when Remy isn't in the picture all together look what happens look at the X-Men movies and how she's portrayed. You may not like Rogue and Gambit as a ship and that is totally fine but Gambit is basically the last line of defense from her being used as pure creepy fan service to the audience a good chunk of the time from what I've seen.

You only think she's a better character without Remy and more complex because he's literally a grounding force in her life her life gets incredibly toxic and complicated in bad ways without him. It's why he's considered her home and harbor. Even if the relationship was entirely platonic he is often just someone she can go to for anything and helps her cool her head and keeps her from falling back on bad coping mechanisms.

As someone who works in internet tech support this ad makes me so irrationally angry every time I see it.

The whole “testimonial” is just full of blatant lies and incorrect facts about how internet works. (And the fact they go out of their way to mention grandkids tells me they’re trying to scam old people.)

The “top secret” device in that picture is a wifi extender, a very common piece of networking equipment you can get at any electronics store that I promise you your Internet Provider has NO ISSUE with you having. In fact, they will ENCOURAGE you to get one if your wifi isn’t reaching throughout your house.

Which is what they’re actually for. They’re not for magically increasing the speed of your internet. Which, by the way, it is not possible to make your internet faster than what’s coming in on your router, that makes ZERO sense.

The other thing is internet speed is a tangible and measurable number so your internet provider can’t just “make it fast at first and then slow it down so you’ll upgrade” because there’s a specific speed you signed up for, say 100 mbps, that you can run a speed test at any time and make sure you’re getting.

And if you’re not getting your speed? They help you fix it! I do it every day!

That viral post that's going around about how people who write "book quality" mlm fic are too "normal" to publish and have real jobs so only "weird" people publish their "shitty" fanfic is so completely out of touch with reality and I am giving a massive side eye to everyone reblogging it.

Not only is it completely, easily verifiably untrue (you cannot enter any professional writing space without tripping over a dozen grizzled scifi writers who got their start by filing off the serial numbers and publishing their Star Trek fanfic even going back decades ago??? it's a whole thing?? plus how can you look at the mlm category on Amazon right now and say with a straight face that people aren't publishing shitty Spirk and Stucky fanfic??? Oh, honey...) it's also the perfect example of this kind of sneering elitism that true artists would never sully themselves by seeking profit, they do it only for the purity of the thing that always somehow leads back to, "no one should be paid to make art, actually."

The only reason you're seeing more published fanfic right now has nothing to do with the idealistic purity of your hypothetical government employee written smut of the past vs the debased scribbles of those awful straights of today and everything to do with the fact that a) self-publishing has created a voracious readership that wants a ton of content so it's become a viable, flexible income stream for many, especially disabled people b) anyone can publish now with self-publishing tools so there are less gatekeepers and c) lockdown got a lot of people into fandom and therefore writing who never tried it before.

And if you really think there's no "shitty" published mlm and no "book-quality" m/f writing out there that started as fanfic, then you are clearly not a reader so why are you even talking about this?

As much as I would enjoy a kiss at their reunion, I do think the dragon prince crew would do something softer when (not if <-clown emoji) Sorvus is made canon. I'm picturing Corvus and Ezran and Callum arriving at the castle like in the promo image, them checking up with Opeli and she reveals everything is fine.

But Corvus asks about Soren. "Where is he?" he asks, his mind already wandering to the possibility that Soren...hadn't made it out. He will himself to remain strong for his king, but his body fills with dread. Thankfully, Opeli points him to the river.

There, Soren sits on the banks. Corvus sits beside him, noticing the same pained look in his eyes that he had seen on the ramparts the day Soren asked him to become a crownguard. Now, that same pain encompassed how he sat, how he stared mournfully into the waters.

Corvus asks is he is alright, and Soren can't even answer, holding back what emotion he can to maintain his cheerful attitude. He is failing miserably. Something more terrible than the Storm Spire must have happened. Something worse than Katolis burning down.

Corvus lays his hand over Soren's on the rock. Soren looks from it to Corvus, then shifts so that he can hold Corvus's hand back.
