I had a two week holiday this year and they were instantly slurped up. it went so fast!#there was this big football thing the week before my holiday - basically teams of teens come from all around the world to play etc.#I heard a girl tell her teammates that 'I'd love to travel on this bus every morning; happy people all around you; just add some music...'#she was also very excited when the bridge opened. the 'happy people' around her sighed bitterly and leaned back for a ten minute wait.#it is thankfully over now. the bus home is no longer stuffed full of football teams. but it's a fun experience for the players etc etc etc#well. in other thrilling news I went to spy on our sister shops during my time off. to see what they do differently. maybe steal some ideas#one store was like an instagram post with fancy teacups and stylish outfits. who knew a second-hand store could be so boring.#the other was like a man-cave with furniture and a passively-aggressive note by the toys stating that 'if u break it u pay. idiot. tnx<3'.#the man-cave was my favourite :)#rant over now! take care and bye etc!

hm. struck all of a sudden with the urge to write a candlenights fic. i don’t think i really have the time for that but its. really strong.
#tidings of comfort and joy.... love the wording of that idk idk#like the sense of warm togetherness and well wishes in the face of implied difficult times#idk i kinda struggle w christmas themed stuff. its a holiday that has parts that i really love participating in#but it just has soooo much baggage both religiously and culturally both parts of which i'm not at all interested in participating in#but the imagery of the warm holiday of. comfort and joy. in the wintertime is certainly compelling#and in america that holiday is assumed to be christmas kinda whether you like it or not#but i dont really want to carry over that baggage into 1. a hobby of mine and 2. a fictional world it doesnt really belong in#like i dont want to write a ‘candlenights’ fic (but its actually just christmas). no hate to people who do but thats not what im going for#idk maybe i will write a candlenights fic and lean hard into the sort of yuletide angle#just a very simple idea of 'winter solstice type holiday during the coldest time of year where people come together to be warm together' yk#maybe i'll just like. avoid christmas-y traditions and make up other stuff thats in theme with winter holiday. like candles and shit#since like the concept of a winter holiday does not belong to christmas#mine#but sighhh as so often happens i have a Vibe and a Theme i'd like to write about but no concrete plot or events to actually convey it lol

#vent tw#kinda dreading the holidays this year. last year it was a dumpster fire. i kept having meltdowns and getting overwhelmed#idk. this year it's. there'll be less people i think. and there's not the stress of living in a new house#i liked christmas eve at my paternal grandparents' house. it's always pretty low stress there#lots of love and music#but for my mom's family.... idk we just clash too much#i don't really know what to do over winter break this year to be honest#last year i had a lot of time to myself. this year i won't#i just. i don't know.#i realized that i spend a lot of time in my room playing video games. and i make up excuses to leave the house#(e.g. studying. although i am usually doing work when i leave the house)#maybe i'll head over to a library or smthg and work on a personal project#i should. do a personal project.#i've been wanting to make a video essay for a while now. i just have so many options idk where to start#i kinda want to do one on majora's mask and themes of grief. that's an option#i could do one on melinoë. or i could do one on breath of the wild#many options#i just know that i'm tired all the time unless i'm working on something#and even then i still find myself getting tired
