Why does Ren have 4 ears? Are they all real or is one set fake?

Hehe I’ve gotten this question a lot actually! They’re all real— I like to think hybridization isn’t always a clean balance of traits, so Ren just unfortunately ended up with two sets of ears— his Dog ears being much more receptive to sound, naturally— and sometimes when the extra intake of sound is too overwhelming, I imagine he wears earplugs in his human ears to help adjust :> it’s a bit weird, but idk! i like to make designs funky and nonconventional! I liked the idea that Ren had hearing struggles due to wonky hybridization and just kept the concept :>

Endangered MerMay: Banggai cardinalfish

Banggai cardinalfish males take care of their young by keeping the eggs and fry in their mouth. Since mermaids don't have a very large mouth, the Banggai cardinalfish mermaid has instead opted to cary them in woven shawls. They are a social mermaid and group together near coral coves. They tend to be 3-4 ft long.

The Banggai cardinalfish is a small tropical cardinalfish located solely off the Banggai islands of Indonesia. This species is known for it's beautiful colors, unique brooding methods, and flashy fins. Sadly it is these traits that have pushed it to be endangered by risk of the aquatic pet trade. It is important to keep these fish from going extinct in the wild, so be mindful and only buy these fish from captive breeders!

A little domestic tenderness I worked on instead of art fight stuff, because the recent string of nightmares I’ve had has left me completely exhausted. I feel like sleep is a pretty common theme in my art because it’s such a struggle for me in real life.

ive been doing an anatomy study lately to try and actually improve at art and it’s been boring but using tua screengrabs as references has made it much more fun and i’m pretty happy with how the page turned out even if it’s pretty rough so im dropping it here :)

I’m gonna do more, but before I can, I have 8 hours of work, so it’ll be a while before I can continue. So in the meantime, I’m posting this

So basically I had this idea to draw the Evoland 2 party as their Invocation Guardians, or more accurately, wearing outfits based on them

Kind of wish there were more Invocations so I can draw more characters with outfits like these, particularly Kuro and Ceres, but oh well

I did Menos first because obviously, but I’m gonna do the other two as well

So yeah, his design is based on Iggrit

It’s maybe not the best looking outfit, I don’t really understand how the fur works (and I know on Iggrit it’s just hair, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to draw Menos with all that hair, so it’s fur now). And also I don’t know if Menos with the braids looks the best. But I suppose I can change it later, especially if I want to draw a cooler looking picture with the three once I get designs down

I also did take some liberties, but screw it, it’s an inspired design, not a one to one

I do wonder if maybe I should have played with Menos’ base colors more, like making his eyes orange or red, or doing that with his hair or making his skin more orange. I changed the arms, but that was in part to have the orange and also because the dark purple was too similar to the dark purple armor parts

But yeah, that’s this, I like it, and I just wanted to show it off before I spend 8 hours at work

Just feeling super excited about playing a new D&D character this week. This is Reina, my echo knight fighter, who when my DM asked out of a scale from 1-10 how much emotional damage could he inflict, I said 10. Will I live to regret this? Probably.
