And when she turns around to leave his ship for good, he feels a part of him leaving, too. His shoulders sink at the sight of her back, his body growing heavier with every step she takes away from him. He finally lowers his head while closing his eyes. Her walking away from him is not the last memory he wants of her. Would it matter anything anyway, though? He was certain all along that he would need to get a hold of a drop of the river of the dead to forget about her at one point, knowing very well that all the Rum in the world couldn't keep him from being haunted by her. For the time being, he desperately tries to think of something else, though, blending out the present, focusing on the noises of the waves that clash against the wooden structures of the docks. It works again, the sea is his anchor. The salty smell in his nose, the cold winds that nibble on his ears…the warm lips on his own… He opens his eyes in shock…And pushes her away immediately. He was so caught up in distracting himself that he didn't even hear that she'd stopped in her tracks, turned around, ran up to him and flung herself at him to give him one more kiss. For her, it was a leap of faith. A leap of trust. The last straw to save them both from misery. Whatever happened to Hook, she hoped that a kiss of true love would set things right…Like it did so many times before.

Smee needed to be in this, too, because his actor, Chris Gauthier, sadly passed away last year and I wanted to pay a little homage to him with this.

To anyone confused as to why Mr. Smee and the pirates are in Epic Mickey, they're meant to be prototype/concept art versions of said characters. Wasteland was meant to have both forgotten and scrapped or concept art versions of Disney characters up until 1966. This also explains Pete.

I rewatched Jake and the Neverland pirates and wanted to try mix up that art style with mine. I don't know. It ended up well. At least I think.
