Unless public defenders work differently in Fantasy High, Sklonda is not a public defender. She’s a defense attorney. Unless the implication is the guy accused of embezzlement has no money. Yes, I know you can’t knowingly accept ill-gotten gains as payment, but you’re telling me this man has no untainted assets?

That’s what public defenders are for. No money = public defender. The whole “if you can not afford an attorney one will be provided for you”. But the festival hasn’t even happened yet. The idea that as a public defender Sklonda would only have one case is hilarious. Public defenders famously have way more. In fact they have 3x the amount of cases than they should be handling. Source.

But the reason I bring this up. For one thing, I’m pedantic as all hell. But I really hate the image defense attorneys have gotten in modern culture. Which is not D20 fault and I doubt they know they are playing into it. Defense attorneys are good, actually. You need defense attorneys. Are there shitty defense attorneys? Sure, but there are also shitty teachers, nurses, and doctors. Most defense attorneys are fine people. Like the people defending your rights in criminal trials in front of the Supreme Court are usually defense attorneys. It’s not longer a public defender. It’s usually a defense attorney who specializes in SCOTUS cases. Go read about John Paul Frank who defended Miranda in Miranda v. Arizona and won you those Miranda Rights.

I spent $6 on a pumpkin. A beautiful perfect dust green pumpkin. And I carried it for 25 minutes after my arm around the store which could have been 15 if my girlfriend had made a list. Tbh I don’t understand the criticism that Huey “didn’t get as much as a character arc in s3 as Dewey / Louie did in s1 / s2” bc I actually thought he got more?

The lesson he learned was that friendship and compassion comes above “order” and “being on top” and “adhering to the system around him”, which is a message especially prevalent in the episodes with Violet and Boyd, which are the reverse of Bradfords morals around rules. (a character who is, for all intents and purposes, an antithetical to Huey.)

Huey focused on rules that uplifted others, Bradford focused on rules that oppressed them. Two sides of the same Junior Woodchuck Guidebook or whatever. idk I think maybe people just wanted the lesson Huey learned to be like. He didn’t need rules or structure, and rules and structure are bad and he should just learn to live totally free, but as an autistic person I don’t really like that moral and I’m glad they let him keep his structure. Huey is a very autistic coded character, and his need of structure and guidance shows this- it’s not a character flaw he ever needed to overcome, and the idea that it was and that because his arc was “I need to make sure I’m showing compassion above my own personal goals, because caring for others is more important than fulfilling what I think I’m meant do.” Rather than “rules are bad and I don’t need structure anymore!! Autism cured!!”

Sorry for rant but Huey is like my fav character (besides scroldie LOL) and seeimg ppl act like he didn’t get any development makes me sad bc he DID. Arguably, he got the most out of all the triplets lolol.
