#lol good luck finding all of the photoshopped versions in the rb history. ‘manatee restored’ is still my favorite of all time #misc #I encourage anyone dyslexic to try rotating him in your mind. I can’t do that; which is why I’m asking you to.#also: a bunch of tags are surprised this isn’t ‘shopped #it’s the lighting. backlit by the sun (which is diffused through the water) but also forelit artificially #the artificial light - a flash pack or something - casts a hard shadow under the creatures arm #which normally wouldn’t be possible if backlit by the SUN; you’d see a less-hard/more-fragmented shadow above water #as light sources ‘compete’ in a sense - and since there aren’t any light sources which can outshine the literal sun #it looks a bit weird when the darkest shadow is being cast from any other origin point - which is what’s essentially happening here #I don’t know the mechanics of how light travels through water; but I know the effect is substantial even with relatively short distances #also: it’s been balanced and color corrected by the author of the photo - who made deliberate choices to bring out the full potential #so it’s not like it’s a fresh and untouched export #but the kind of ‘tacked on’ appearance of the creature is a result of the lighting conditions within the image

#non mdzs #The real mood of this comic is:#AKA: you are in charge of designing a character but have only been given personality as a reference.#This was technically for a game dev meeting and I am part of a team rather than a contractor hired on.#But hey the anxiety going into this was still crazy high. I was playing a risky gambit.#Part two of this comic is me putting all those clowns on a powerpoint and presenting them in front of a few people.#Pointing at them and saying “Okay which clown do you like best? How can we sex up this clown more?”#I think I may be giving the impression that I’m more into clowns than I actually am. It just fit with the character okay!#I had to consult the REAL down-for-clowners for tips. Photos exchanged in the dark alleys of a discord server.#A hooded figure shakes their head at the first photo. Slowly nods as I add puffy sleeves. Nods furiously as I drop the neckline.#This clown still needs to marinate a bit more before I’m ready to present them to the wider world.#So stay tuned! recently my parents have been sorting through old stuff because their basement flooded, so my mom keeps sending me pictures she finds from when i was a little kid and after a while i was like hey uh mom. these are cute and all but is it just me or does a deep and unsettling Knowledge beyond human comprehension seem to lurk behind my eyes in literally every single one of these? and she was just like ‘yeah your eyes always looked like that it was kinda creepy 🥰’

#squinting at my own baby pictures like yo what the fuck is wrong with this child #any one picture doesn’t really capture it but you see enough of them in a row and it starts to get REAL unnerving #what do you MEAN me as a toddler just casually looked like i could hear the universe sing its eternal song and understood every word #why does it feel like i’m making direct fully cognizant eye contact with the future in any photo where i notice the camera #how did i at the tender age of 3 have the demeanor and countenance of some sort of ancient trickster god #DID I EVER GROW OUT OF IT???#mumbling

You know how Jason’s thing is passing out? Well, the lost trio’s thing is falling.

In the second chapter of tlh alone, the total amount of falls is four. All of them almost fall to their doom in the Grand Canyon and then Leo legit gets kicked out of the air by Hedge.

way too many of the chapters start with “the airbrushed passed as they fell through the sky”

Annabeth and Percy definitely get most dramatic but no one beats the lost trio with the most falls. No one else is even close.
