For the Doctor Who ask game:
When you could have one trip in the TARDIS where would you go?
What character would you like to see more of?
Do you think the Doctor can cook?
Oh that first one now I know why everyone freezes up when the Doctor is like “so where to first?” I think I would stay on Earth, and go back in time to maybe solve a mystery. Let’s go find out what happened to the Franklin Expedition or Roanoke or find out if George Mallory summited Everest or why the Mary Celeste was abandoned. Either that or go fishing with Ernest Hemingway.
Right now, Shirley Anne Bingham. But there are definitely others.
Different Doctors can and cannot cook. Nine? Great cook! Fourteen? As long as he focuses on one thing and doesn’t start trying to make four dishes at once. Thirteen? B A N N E D F R O M K I T C H E N
#AHHHHH THANKS FOR ASK#ok tbh still hung up on that first one#if I’m being offered a trip in the TARDIS as a thank you for helping defeat The Horrors™️#I’d probably just ask if we could go see some whales#‘does this thing have like. snorkel mode?’#‘yesterday was stressful what if we park next to a big school of krill and just watch a bunch of whales come eat it’#‘but from underwater’

A Little’s Trip to the Jellycat Diner in NYC!!😆💞🎀
I’m a huge fan of Jellycat stuffed animals! I think they are so cute and especially so soft!! So when I heard they opened a cute experience in FAO Schwarz in NYC I knew I had to go see it for myself!
Before going I have three Jellycats of my own! I have a Manatee, a Sheep and a Kola!
Every time I go to FAO Schwarz I always end up getting a Jellycat since they have a MASSIVE selection. This time they really did not disappoint!
For starters there’s the Jellycat Diner on the first floor of the story! This is where they sell their food stuffed animals! If you ordered a special pack (which included stickers, a pin and a wrapped food such as a hotdog, burger, taco or pizza) they would wrap it like the actual food and give it to you at the diner counter, complete with them hitting a bell and saying you “order number”. It’s such a cute idea!! Below are photos of the food stuffies on the sides of the diner:
Next to the diner was a smaller display of some of their Christmas collection stuffies:
Upstairs they have more of their stuffed animals which are my favorite and go to Jellycats when I come to here! I sadly forgot to take photos of this section but I can describe it to you! This is where all the animal Jellycats hang out! They had a ton of see animals such as whales, shrimps, sea lions, and octopuses. They also had some fall Jellycats such as a pine cone, a fox, and a porcupine. On the back wall they had a mixture of different ones such as dragons, chickens, lions, horses, dogs, cats and more!
I’m the type of Little that has to see EVERYTHING before making a proper decision. So I search that section about 5 times for the perfect Jellycat… and I think I found the best one! I found this elephant section and instantly fell in love with how soft and cuddly the elephant design was! I’m always the type of person who grabs one from the back who isn’t appreciated like the ones in the front, and that’s when I met Wally!
Wally was on the back of the shelf with his head buried. I immediately worried that maybe he had anxiety about how loud store was. So naturally he won my heart over. I immediately grabbed him and brought him close. Maybe we could help each other through our anxieties. So Wally came home with me. He is very happy and has been properly introduced to all my stuffed animals! Here’s Wally back home in my dorm:
Right before I went to check out I noticed this tiny little rattle Jellycat dog. Immediately my little side was screaming at me to get it. It’s such a small size that I reasoned with myself I could take along with me when I travel.
It’s always scary buying something so obviously for a baby. But I do have some advice! For one I took this trip alone to avoid any questions from friend. But when I got to the register with Wally and the rattle I was asked who I was getting it for. The cashier was super nice and was probably just striking up a conversation. So I simply said it a gift for my cousin. Is it? No. This is a gift to myself. But they don’t need to know that! Just make up that you have a younger cousin you’re buying something little or younger for. Trust me it works every time!
But back to the topic of my rattle, I LOVE IT!! The bell is not overwhelmingly and the rattle is super soft! It’s definitely coming with me every time I travel! I named him Spot the Rattle!
I had a great time today!! I’d like to thank everyone again in this post. Your advice really helped me with dealing with the subways today! Thank you again! I hope everyone liked this review of the Jellycat Diner in FAO Schwarz. Comment any questions you have about the store! I’d be happy to answer them!

❀ nostalgia ❀
Late at night, cuddled in your silk sheets, we talk about whatever random and deep topics that come to mind. One that’s been on my mind for a few years now is nostalgia. Since moving away from my childhood town when I was 6, part of me misses the comfort and how easy life felt. Being able to play all the time, see and do things I liked everyday, made me happy.
No matter how many times we saw the same thing, it was always exciting and I never got bored of it. Whether it was the children’s museum, the indoor jungle gym, days on the lake, or parks, new memories were made each time. Memories I’ve been craving lately.
I ramble on about this museum my family would go to almost every weekend, where each room has a different theme. One was marine with a skeleton of a whale hanging from the ceiling, a cave, an old classroom room, a little police and fire station, and a garden where there was a giant sunflower with a crank so you could watch it grow. I think that’s where my love of sunflowers comes from. Your eyes soften at the way my face lights up talking about my childhood. I mention my childhood memories often enough for you to know how important those memories are to me.
It’s been a week since that late night conversation. Rolling over I reach for my phone to shut my alarm off. The first thing I see is a text from you, which puts a smile on my face.
Getting out of bed, I do my skincare then pack it in my bag. After packing my bag with enough clothes, I bring it downstairs and place it by the door. Quickly, I grab something to eat and rinse my dishes just as you pull up. Getting in the passenger seat I’m met with your lips, pressing a sweet kiss to mine.
“Where are we going?” I ask, confused by your spontaneity.
“That’s for me to know and for you to find out sweetheart” you joke.
We drive for probably 4 hours, stopping at a gas station to grab some snacks. Our playlist plays quietly in the background. This alone is all I needed; you, car rides, and music are my favorite moments. As we enter the small town I get this feeling of déjà vu. Looking to my right I’m met with the statute of a moose my family would sit under as we drank slushies.
“SHUT UP YOU DIDN’T” you gasp, filled with all the memories rushing back
“Oh but I did!” you smile. You love seeing me happy.
This was such a special trip for me. We spent the next 4 days reliving my childhood. I made sure we went to the children’s museum, one of my favorite places. It’s a weird feeling knowing that you used to go to these places every week and just like that you stopped going. It’s the same as I remember it. You held my hand to stop me from wandering off and leaving you to find where I’d gone. I barely said a word the entire time we were there just in awe at what I was seeing. It was like I was a kid again, still equally as fascinated.
There was this giant outdoor nursery rhyme themed playground. Walking through the park with my hand in yours I point out different things my brother and I used to play on. One of my favorite parts of this place was the barn which I know you’d love to see all the animals there. In front of the barn was a lookout pond where we stood wrapped in each other's arms.
“This is so sick now I understand why you wanted to come back here so bad” you say.
“Thank you for bringing me back here, you don’t know how much this means to me”. I whisper.
“Of course there’s nothing I love more than seeing you happy” you whisper back, kissing the top of my head.
The next few days were spent visiting other places my family frequented. Before heading back home we stopped at this little candy store which I’m surprised was still in business after all these years. It warmed my heart that you remembered all the things I mindlessly rambled on about and actually made a plan to visit there instead of just listening. You make me feel special like no one has before. I’m happy that I got to relive my childhood and I’m ever more happy that I get to make memories with you that I’ll one day be nostalgic about.

Learning, growing, and sharing the passion🐛🦋(U10)
Reflecting on my journey of developing my personal stance as a nature interpreter, I realize my ethos is deeply rooted in storytelling. While I would absolutely consider myself smart and capable of any challenge thrown my way, I wouldn't claim to be the one to ask for a perfectly articulated summary of a concept, or a history (or stats oh gosh...)) But! I am your girl if you want to talk about animals or nature with the same excitement and perception shifts you had as a kid; when learning about something like dinosaurs or other planets for the very first time and feeling like your mind was blown, or maybe even that the person was just making stuff up because of how wild it seemed.
At it’s core, my passion sings when having the chance to discuss niche topics with open-minds that delve into things like evolution, coming from the perspective that there are so many mysteries out there that could be unraveled if you only cared to look.
Just this week, some of these topics for me and some peers have included trying to understand bird tetrachromacy (how and why they can see in UV), mammals returning to the water like whales and dolphins, or how?? Literally how??? lemurs got to Madagascar.
To me, it's not just about sharing information, but having fun in the process and getting to share what you learn about the animals and their exploits in ways that would rival the wildest fantasy stories.
[Saw-whet owl wing under UV💡 ]
[OG whale💪🏻 ]
I've been playfully dubbed the "zookeeper of knowledge" by a friend in this context, after spending far too many hours working on a project because we kept getting side-tracked and discussing things not necessarily needed, but so incredibly interesting. (And it’s probably a title I'd gladly claim if it weren't so corny to be honest.) Regardless, it summarizes my commitment to becoming a curator of the captivating craziness that the animal kingdom has to offer. With a bias but passionate zoological perspective, I strive to share my spark of curiosity. ✨
Beyond my zoology lens, I strive for a focus on eco-consciousness in the work that I do, hoping to bridge the gap between science and the public and to foster stronger connection with Mother Nature.
As for translating these passions to children, I’m a firm believer in both transparency and honesty. While it’s almost guaranteed they won’t enjoy their first climate change lesson, I think forming traits of environmental stewardship and the understanding that actions have environmental consequences in children is critical if we want our passion for nature to be held by future generations. I remember my first lonely polar bear on a drifting ice berg video, and yes I was sad….but it left a vivid mark on my consciousness, shaping my understanding of the environmental challenges we face and it very likely brought me to where I am today.
Speaking of inspiring children, I cannot hold myself back as I have to show you guys what I found last week!
[Zoologist Barbie!!!!!!!!💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗]
I'm not even that much of a Barbie fan but I think now I have to be! I would have exploded with joy if I had this as I kid! I mean, if Barbie is doing it, I can't even imagine how many little girls will now be exposed to the possibility of studying zoology or similar topics and I won't lie...I could cry 🥹 (not to mention how close the koala is to a lemur and my personal goals regarding that....interesting......verrry interesting 🔮)
Though I still think going outside with curiosity in mind is the number one way to develop a relationship with nature, I’d consider things and representations like this even more important in places like cities, where natural spaces are becoming less and less accessible due to never-ending infrastructure and the digital domination of screens and virtual experiences.
The allure of video games and online platforms often out-win outdoor activities at least in my own anecdotal experience, raising concerns about the disconnect between the younger generation and the natural world. I think environmental educators are becoming more and more important in schools, and I believe they play a pivotal role in counteracting this trend, as they offer opportunities for a child to focus on wonders within the natural world. I had a hard time myself trying to sound reasonable to many of my friends and family as a kid when saying I wanted to study animals and nature since technology was progressing so quickly and I was viewed as looking backwards.
and so I think this doll (or things similar) can reinspire or hold that flame when kids aren't yet to sure if they'll find a nice outdoor spot to explore, an educator excited to answer questions, or a community like Guelph that embraces natural sciences so much.
In my opinion, harsh climate crisis truths can surely be sugar-coated for young minds to an extent, but to completely wait until their old enough to ‘actually understand’ is just providing the perfect opportunity for a child to become a distracted or oblivious teenager or adult. Again, this is my opinion but at this point in time, in a current climate crisis with almost no signs of slowing down, being an adult in a country like Canada and purposely ignoring it is NOT cool!!
Now, we don’t have to live every moment with the weight of the world on our shoulders, and I don’t wish that on anyone! But I believe the absolute bare minimum is to consider our actions in relation to nature and provide the next generation the building blocks and exposure they'll need to make environmentally conscious choices. Concepts like reusable water bottles over disposable plastic ones, not littering, and realizing our planet belongs to others too aren’t scary things and if anything, promote cultures of care and community. These seemingly simple ideas start to lay the foundation for responsible and conscious individuals to gladly carry the torch of environmental awareness into the future!
Anyways, that's what's up with me, and so I hope you've found at least one thing on my blog that made you think about, reconsider, or learn something, and maybe even want to go hug a tree 💝🐛

jamie u MENACE droppin all three ask memes at once, come over rq i just wanna talk (talking is code for fist-fighting you on behalf of how long this is gonna be)
(from this ask meme, this other ask meme, and this third one!)
first up Let's Talk About Gyemmo!
My favorite thing about him - he's Nice, sort of, when it benefits him, but he's definitely not A Good Person. he's just like me in that he's got that baby-faced Charm combined with a polite disposition that enamors people to him, but he's ruthless. he's just sweet about it. only this bitch can give up almost everything in his life in pursuit of pure selfishness and then struggle to accept that there's consequences ♥
My least favorite thing about him - mans has got to stop Leaving For Good For Realsies This Time at least once a season (twice in season two!!), he's gonna be the boy who cried Gone For Ever ('whale eyes at the coming finale but pretending i don't see it' voice)
My favorite canon relationship - you know im a nandermo bitch. they make each other worse and they might just turn out better for it. it's like watching two dogs who both want to play but are both just doing the little bow thing bc neither dog is taking the bait to chase so they're just whimpering and pawing at each other thinking "why doesn't he wanna [redacted] 🥺" it's pathetic, sort your shit out guys
My favorite non-canon relationship - That Year In London With Nadja. they never showed it to us but we all know it happened. they did mani-pedis and nearly killed each other multiple times and then she hired him as her accountant
The sexuality I headcanon for him - baby boy canonically gay and that's such a win ♥ i do hc him as trans but you knoowwwww that's some juicy little projection i like to do~
What I’d do if I could spend the day with him - in all honesty i do not anticipate that we would get along! like if i'm lucky he lures me home to be dinner but probably we would end up somewhere with a line unable to surpass our own giant social walls enough to do anything Cool. like, ok. is this pre s5? if i watch someone take a fork and knife to a burger i am Leaving Immediately
Random fact about him I like - the little snippets we get about his family life and what he gets up to off-camera. tell us more about the meat dress for your cousin's quinceañera!! u freaque, gimme more of this shit!! i'm obsessed!!
OK WE MADE IT LET'S GOOO
Salmon: How many pairs of sunglasses do I own? triangles, tiny shades, blurple circle shades, alien circle shades, ghosts, cat circle shades, and i think i still have the coral foldable shades but i haven't seen em in a while? so 6 or 7. for now.
Coconut: A subject I enjoy learning about crafting historyyyy how shit's madeeee show me the machinesss show me vintage vintage patterns, show me how vikings made yarn and then make a scarf out of it
AND LASTLY
Death: 3 things I wanna do before I die 1) go to New York City 2) get a tattoo 3) i wanna get married 👉👈 specifically i am holding out hope that i can connect with someone and forge that level of love trust and commitment that makes you decide "yeah this is a Forever thing" even if Marriage Specifically isn't on the table for whatever reason. thot i had it once! so i can get there again! just gotta do the hard part and meet the right person, which includes meeting a lot of Not the right people 🤷♂️
#was gonna put under a readmore but im choosing violence instead#sorry to ppl who track the tags im about to use‚ but i am an archive tagger‚ so we will both have to deal with this:#wwdits#wwdits guillermo#ask memes#partiallyobscure#good news is my bucket list is very attainable! nyc will be replaced with paris once i make it to nyc#never been a big dreams guy‚ it's allowed me to find contentment in my life tho

Runaway Wind Chapter Eighteen
<- Previous Chapter | Current Chapter | Next Chapter ->
By the time Ventus and Naminé made their way down to the campfire where everyone else had set up, almost everyone else had a plate of food. Yuffie looked at the two after swallowing a bite of eggs, “Hey! Just in time. Was beginning to worry you’d sleep through breakfast.”
Ventus shook his head, “Well...Naminé helped me up in time. So I think she probably deserves a plate before me.”
Naminé nodded before grabbing a serving of eggs and sausage. She looked to Aerith before asking, “I’m...not taking too much?”
Aerith chuckled and shook her head. “Not at all. I’d hardly call your portions big enough to cause problems.” After a moment, her smile faded and she looked over to Merlin, “Still no word from Cloud or Tifa?”
Merlin shook his head, “I’m afraid not, my dear. I’ve kept my ear to the ground, but after Cloud’s appearance at Olympus there’s been nothing since then.”
Ventus looked up from the plate of food he had taken. “Olympus...Hey, that reminds me! I better go and check on Zack and Herc! They’re probably full blown heroes by now.” His eagerness faltered however, as he saw Aerith look at him in shock. “I...did something happen to them?” worry crept into his voice.
Aerith sighed and tapped her plate with her fork, “Hercules is fine, a hero like you said.” Looking away wistfully she added, “But Zack’s been dead for a long time.”
Ventus winced and looked back at his food, “I…”
“I'll come back when you're a hero.”
“Don't you mean when we'll both be heroes?”
“Oh, so you mean never come back?”
“I’m sorry.” Ventus began stirring his food with his fork. Realizing that there was yet another connection that was lost.
Aerith shook her head and gave an encouraging smile. “It’s alright. I just wasn’t expecting anyone else to really hear that name after so long.”
Ventus nodded, “Yeah...I guess it’s just news to me,” and resumed taking a bite from his breakfast
“Now, I believe we were promised your story?” Leon set his empty dish aside before crossing his arms expectantly.
“I’m hoping it can answer some questions. Like say…” Cid rubbed his chin as he settled in his seat looking at Ventus, “You knowing Maleficent, how you learned about X-Blade, who Terra and Aqua are…”
“And how you know Sora,” Naminé answered as the rest of the group nodded in agreement.
“This is going to take a while.” Ventus swallowed a lump in his throat, “But if Naminé was willing to tell her story, I can too. It’d be better to tell you all the truth.”
And so he began to tell his story. The story of the Land Of Departure. The story of his old master and his friends.
And the story of how one man destroyed it all in a mad search for power no matter the price.
In the depths of Castle Oblivion where the halls had been twisted into the belly of a whale, Riku ruminated on his choices. His home. His friends. He had thrown them away. And what were they worth to him in the end?
For a nice room? To be used as a puppet? For a power that he could barely control? Hurting the friends he was so certain he was protecting?
He sighed. He could barely fool himself with that last one. Seeing Sora with the keyblade just drove him to get one over on him. And with Kairi’s life in danger, he had an excuse. Never mind trying just to talk to him. Riku needed to be the one to solve the problem. That was how it always was.
And perhaps...a small part of him wished Kairi looked at him rather than Sora when they competed.
But when the same Sora that he once mocked for taking nothing seriously sacrificed his life for her, he understood. Understood how little he had actually done to help them. Understood the depths of how Sora felt about Kairi.
And when Kairi cried out for him, desperately wanting to bring Sora back, Riku knew he had no chance. The best he could do was hold back the monster that had taken his body. Keep Ansem at bay.
“Yet even so. You could not silence me completely.”
Riku winced at the aggravating companion that had dogged him mentally in this journey. Even though he could not accept the empty shadows he had slumbered in, it felt little different in these halls of Castle Oblivion. Worlds that were vibrant and full of life, stripped to the bare minimum. Only heartless and hollow copies of Maleficent’s band of villains. The only real company being the same whisperings of darkness egging him on.
And then there was that man in the black cloak. Vexen. What exactly was he studying him for, and what was he after? Whatever it was, it just reeked of bad news. More than just the empty stench that followed the man.
But for now, he needed to try. Whatever darkness he had, he could use. Opening the familiar path to the depths of Monstro’s intestine Riku looked up to the familiar heartless that he had thrown Pinnochio into. As the parasite cage dropped to the floor, Riku readied his blade and muttered, “Don’t have a meal for you this time. All I’m giving you is indigestion.”
Cycling through the prisoners on the crystal ball, Vexen looked up at the tell tale sound of the dark portal, “Zexion, good that you have returned.”
Walking out of the darkness, Zexion looked back at him with cyan eyes. “The Riku replica. How soon could we utilize it to fight against Sora?”
“Hmm…” Vexen began to stroke his chin in contemplation, before he began to grin, “why, I believe we could use it immediately.”
Lexeaus looked up at him, eyebrow raised in doubt, “His mental state is sufficient?”
“Sufficient enough to fight, given basic instruction.” Under Vexen’s hand, the crystal ball’s image shifted to Sora. The boy once again pleading for their former travelling companion to remember. This time, the image of Halloween Town’s ruler turned away in confusion. As the image vanished, Sora, Donald, Goofy were still left confused and concerned. But even so, they doubted. They discussed the possibility that this was a ruse. That the floors with various worlds to the entire premise was less a reality and more a fantasy.
Perhaps it was time to re-enforce that reality.
Vexen smiled, and turned to Zexion, “Using him now might be ideal for our premise.” After a moment, the academic began to rub his hands in excitement, “And if that’s the case, perhaps I could work on another project to unbalance him. I just need the right data.” With another gesture, Kairi’s image re-appeared on the crystal ball, “Might it be prudent for me to pay a visit to the Princess of Heart?“
Zexion walked to the image with a smile, “Indeed. A replica in her likeness without memories will certainly draw the keybearer closer to the darkness.”
Vexen began to conjure a portal…
Then stopped and turned back to his colleagues, with a contemplative look, “A question. In the multitude of worlds, the chances that two people might share names is near exponential.” Vexen crossed his arms and continued, “Yet I do recall one particular young ward of our former home with a similar name as the princess.”
She is the same Kairi.” Zexion without breaking his vigil over the crystal ball. “I remember little from my time in our former home, but I cannot forget her.”
Lexeaus crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at Zexion, “And you never thought to mention this?”
“Would it matter?” The boy continued calmly.
Vexen sputtered in aggravation, “It most certainly would! It might be possible to emotionally compromise her with this information!”
Zexion turned to Vexen with a smile, “Then consider it fortuitous I have given you this opportunity, and not Marluxia.”
Vexen paused then nodded in understanding, “Ah, most fortuitous indeed.” With a gesture, he departed into darkness to begin his work.
Walking out the door leading out of the image of Oogie Boogie’s lair, Goofy spoke up,“I’ll be honest, this has been gettin’ kinda creepy. And I ain’t just talking about Halloween Town.”
Sora sighed, “I’ll say.” every world that they had been in it was the same. People they had known and fought beside looked at them with fear and suspicion. They were willing enough to help. But once they had fought back against the visage of old foes it was as if they wanted to get away from Sora as fast as possible. Lately, it was as if they vanished when the job was done. “It’s like we never met at all. Like they’re afraid of us.
“And are you sure that this guy in the black cloak isn’t just making it all up?” Donald crossed his arms, grumbling, “As a matter of fact, what’s stopping them from making up Riku and the king being here?”
Sora shook his head and groaned, “I know. I know. But right now we don’t have the Gummi Ship. And this castle has been the only thing around this world that we could find.”
Jiminy Cricket leaped out from Sora’s pocket and onto his shoulder. “Well for what it’s worth, I think the fact that these doppelgangers are so hostile means they aren't really our friends. Cause all we’ve been doing here is trying to help them, they shouldn’t be afraid of us.”
“Yeah...You’re right.” Sora nodded, though some doubt lingered in his voice. Because even though he did his best to help Riku, he still turned to the darkness. Still wanted to fight against him.
Despite that, Sora still tried to hold onto the memory of Riku helping to seal the door to Kingdom Hearts. That his friend still wanted to do the right thing.
Just like he held onto the charm in his pocket.
Kairi believed in him.
Sora had to believe in her too.
As they opened the door however, Donald squawked in shock “Wha? Hey! Is that?!”
Goofy shoved the door open all the way in excitement, “Well, I’ll be!”
And Sora ran forward at the sight of his friend back in his old clothes. “Riku? Is that you?!” It was true! His friends were here!
But Sora’s excitement faded as Riku turned to face him. Confusion on his face clear. “What? Who are you?! What do you want?!?” Backing away, Riku summoned that dreaded black suit, and a dark blade in his hand.
“Riku...it’s me. Sora! Don’t you remember?!” Sora pleaded, fear mounting that the other part of the robed figures warning were true.
That his bonds were falling apart.
“Sora...now I remember,“ Riku’s expression became a wicked grin.“You’re the one I need to defeat!” Sora had no time to process his dismay before Riku lept at him.
Kairi sighed. The maddening world of Wonderland was behind her. Though she didn’t have any Queen to deal with, the architecture had given her plenty of headaches. Honestly, how did Sora deal with it?
She couldn’t help a chuckle there. If there was anyone who had a chance of making sense of a world like that, it was him. But she recalled just as well how that world had thrown him for a bit of a loop. He got pretty lost in the forest. Granted, she was little better.
Kairi began to ponder, how was Sora right now? Some part of her knew he was here, probably fighting for his life. Probably still had her charm.
Maybe when she found him, they could go on their adventure together. With the major threat of the Heartless dealt with, she wouldn’t cause so many problems.
Maybe they could really learn the truth about her past. About Hollow Bastion.
“Greetings Kairi. It has been such a long time since we last met.” A new voice spoke at the end of the white room to the next floor. From darkness emerged a middle aged man with silver long hair, clothed in the same black robes as Lexaeus.
Kairi tightened her grip on her keyblade and shook her head, “I don’t think so. I have no idea who you are.”
“I am Vexen of the Organization,” he chuckled as approached with wide arms, “But come now. Have the years on the lost islands fogged your memories of home, Princess?”
Kairi’s eyes narrowed, as she pointed her keyblade at him, “Given you’re hurting my friends, I’m pretty sure I don’t want to remember you.”
Vexen only chuckled at the threat, “Really? Would such disdain extend to anyone who hurt your friends?” His grin widened.
“Even family?”
“No.” This had to be a sick joke. A lie! She couldn’t be…!
“Ah! So it has dawned on you as well. Then allow me to confirm your suspicions.” Vexen smiled on despite Kairi’s distress, before he spoke with a firm finality.
“Ansem is your father Kairi.”
In a flash, a blue spiked shield appeared before Vexen. “Now show me if you have inherited his power.”
A cacophony of horrors cascaded through Kairi’s mind. Why did he go so far into darkness?! Let their home turn into a cesspit of villainy?!? Destroy everyone for his mad science?!?
Why did he hurt Sora?
And that question helped her regain her focus in the moment. Enough to give a simple answer before the fight began.
“I am nothing like him.”

୨୧ ₊˚๑︶꒥︶꒷︶︶꒥꒷︶꒥︶︶꒷
heyoo!! welcome to genshin aquarium dates series! this is going to be the first one with childe, which is set in a modern day timeline. enjoy reading, loves ^^
୨୧ ₊˚๑︶꒥︶꒷︶︶꒥꒷︶꒥︶︶꒷
➸ since childe loved fishing and anything to do with the ocean, he was absolutely thrilled when you suggested an aquarium trip as a date.
➸ you both had work for the next few days, so he had over a week to plan the perfect aquarium date for you two.
➸ when the day finally came, you were more excited than ever. you came home, but the house had all the lights closed and childe was nowhere to be found.
➸ you turned on the lights to see a beautiful outfit in front of you. there was a note on it that read, "for you, my little treasure."
➸ being spoiled by childe was always the best, but a part of you just always wondered how much money he was spending on you. maybe you felt a tinge of guilt too.
➸ but, you had a talk on it before and childe loves spoiling you. he loves seeing you smile and knowing he's the one making you do it.
➸ you put on the outfit and it fits you perfectly. not too fancy, but not overly casual. perfect for an aquarium date. it was even ocean themed to suit the occasion.
➸ then you heard a few honks outside the door. you stepped out to see a long, black limousine waiting for you.
➸ childe rolled down a window and gestured for you to come in the car. you were surprised with the limo, but with childe being one of the leaders of the FATUI company, he's done much more grand gestures.
➸ when you got in, the limo was filled with drinks, food and a big tv. you were in awe with the whole thing, amazed that all of this could fit inside a car.
➸ childe pulled you into him and gave you a kiss. you kissed him back, which lead to a small little make-out in the backseat of the limo.
➸ you pulled away, and childe pouted wanting to kiss you more. you knew if you did you would end up doing something that would leave you both too tired for the aquarium.
➸ "come on please!" he begged. you shook your head and kissed his cheek. "it would be a waste if we never got into the aquarium, love." you said.
➸ after maybe 30 minutes, you arrived at the aquarium. when you stepped out with childe, a lot of people were pointing and looking at you two.
➸ childe was definitely famous around teyvat, being one of the leading geniuses with a pretty face, he definitely had a lot of fans from around the world.
➸ after a few minutes people were approaching you two and asking childe tons of questions. he called his guards over to maintain a barrier, because he knew you hated crowds.
➸ "thank you." you whispered. he kissed your forehead and continued to walk you inside, his hand intertwined with yours.
➸ you walked in to a massive aquarium. the building was already big from the outside, but the wall was lined with a huge glass aquarium with sharks, whales, jellyfish, seals and probably everything in the ocean.
➸ after walking around for a few minutes, you set your eyes on the dolphin attraction.
➸ it was a petting pen for kids, but you didn't care. you went over and pet the little dolphins, clapping at every little trick they did for you.
➸ childe knelt down with you and pet the dolphins as well, but they seemed to not like how close he was being with you, because he quickly got splashed by one of the small dolphins.
➸ "childe! are you okay?!" you said, worried the dolphins ruined his suit. "i'm alright, you're too worried my love." he said, kissing your forehead again.
➸ of course, this got him another splash. he laughed and stood up so he could prevent getting more drenched than he already is.
➸ after a bit, you stood up too. you found childe near the octopus exhibit, admiring the huge, glowing and colorful octopi swimming around in the water.
➸ you wrapped your arms around his and rested your head on his shoulder. "what are you looking at?" you asked quietly.
➸ he pointed at a small little octopus at the bottom of the tank. it was small, but bursting with color.
➸ "that little one reminds me of you." he said.
➸ "in what way?" you asked, confused but also curious.
➸ "it has so much color and energy packed into such a small, short little body." he said. you hit his shoulder and he laughed at your cute reaction.
➸ "but, it doesn't compare to your beauty. nothing does." he whispered, gently pulling your face towards his.
➸ you turn away flustered by his sudden compliment, but he just turns your face towards his again and gives you a small kiss on your lips.
➸ he pulls away and smiles and your fully red cheeks, and you just hide your face in his chest in embarrassment. "you need to stop doing things like that in public!" you say.
➸ "oh? but how will others know how much i treasure you, my love?" he whispers. you hit him again and he just laughs, it was so fun to tease you.
➸ continuing on, you see some french angelfish.
➸ "hm, do you know that french angelfish are monogamous creatures? meaning they're together for life." childe says.
➸ "oh wow that's so cute!" you say, taking a closer look at the little fishes as they all swim in perfect harmony.
➸ you didn't notice, but childe slowly approached you from behind. he slowly wrapped his arms around your waist and whispered, "i would love for us to be like these little fish some day. together for as long as we live."
➸ feeling your cheeks heat up, you look away for a bit. but you can't let this moment pass without saying anything. "i...i would love it too."
➸ childe's eyes widen in shock, surprised that you said something back. nevertheless, he was happy. he hugged you tighter and planted many kisses all over your neck.
➸ you giggled, getting tickled from the many pecks he was giving you.
➸ two little angelfish swim close to the glass, looking like they were observing you and childe. you quickly noticed and pulled childe over for a picture.
➸ afterwards, it seemed that the aquarium path came to an end.
➸ you both got back into the limo, and looked at the many pictures you took of each other. it made you both laugh reminiscing the trip, even if it only happened a few minutes ago.
➸ finally, you got home and childe walked you to your door.
➸ "thank you, ajax. i loved everything about today." you said. childe pulled you in for one last kiss to end the night, and you noticed the light blush on his face. he always got shy when you called him by his real name.
➸ the next morning you woke up early for work once again. but before you left you heard a knock on your door.
➸ you opened it to a delivery guy, which confused you because you haven't ordered anything this week. but he mentioned your name and number so you signed the package.
➸ he handed you a small box wrapped in a bow. when you observed it you couldn't quite place what it was so you just opened it up.
➸ inside, there was a small angelfish charm and a picture of childe. the picture had childe with his own charm, he got you both matching fishy charms.
➸ he was so geeky sometimes it made you laugh, which is one of the many reasons why you loved him so much.

I AM THE BEST FUCKING INTERNET DETECTIVE!
Okay, that’s a lie, I’m actually oblivious, but if you’ve known me long enough here have probably heard me talk about my white whale, Tron Cat.
So, aaaaages and ages ago, my brother was trying to get me to play the Exalted TTRPG game with him and his friends and invited me to hang out with them for a weekend. We stayed at his friend’s place and said friend had a room mate who had basically done all of the decorating.
One of the paintings this woman had proudly put on display was of this robotic looking alien cat with glowing lines all over its body, which my brother’s friend group had affectionately dubbed “Tron Cat.” And like, it's kinda tacky, but in a really fun “old school sci-fi novel cover” kinda way that’s actually kind of awesome and just fun as hell because who wouldn’t want to forsake “good taste” and just hang an electric space cat on their wall? Everyone loved that picture, but me and my brother in particular were the most enthused about it.
Well, eventually the room mate moved out and for some reason left that priceless painting behind. My brother asked if he could have it, if his friend didn’t want it, but the friend didn’t want a blank wall there and promised that once he moved out, he’d let Jake have it.
He was in that apartment another couple of years, and by then everyone had forgotten about that because they’d kind of stopped playing as much, so Tron Cat was left behind. Jake didn’t find out until several months after his friend moved and was HEARTBROKEN because there were like three degrees of separation between us and that painting’s origins. Nobody knew the name of the painting or the artist or where and how they found it, and it was now in the hands of strangers who would never fully appreciate it. Tron Cat was lost forever.
HOWEVER!
Cut to like a decade later, I’m sitting here today trying to preserve pictures of my dad and my pets by going through my family’s ancient camera and making sure to back up all of the pictures onto a thumb drive and WHAT DO I FIND?
A picture I took of Tron cat! And in BOLD lettering I see “MONT” big glare blocking out some letters and then “BANO” underneath the glorious image of Tron Cat.
I can figure out that must be “Montalbano”, google search “Montalbano cat print” and BOOM, there it is, I found Tron Cat!
His name is Sevin, he was painted by Gary Montalbano, and he is glorious.
You know the date on that picture? You wanna know when that picture was taken? Fucking March 18, 2011.
Finally found out what it was on September 09, 2022. Eleven and a half years. If I’d remembered I’d taken that picture, I would have been able to find it a lot sooner, but there were years between when I first saw it and when taking it home was a possibility that was lost forever, but I fucking found Tron Cat.
In theory you can order prints off [this guy’s website] but it looks like it hasn’t been maintained in a few years and the store function says it’s “coming soon” but in the meanwhile you can “contact them” about which print you want and they’ll tell you how to order it which... hmmm.... don’t like that, but I think if in a few months his website still doesn’t have a functional store I might break down and try anyway because my god.... I’ve waited long enough.

Caring is the Greatest Advantage- Mycroft Holmes x Reader (Part 11)
A/N- Okay so this is just a short 2k fill in chapter! It’s kinda cute and kinda sad but it was too long to add to the last chapter, and it doesn’t fit in with the theme of the next chapter (though it sets it up quite nicely!). The next chapter is likely going to be a bit angsty but I promise it’ll have a rewarding ending to it! I hope to have it written and up sooner rather than later but, until then, enjoy this little piece.
Word Count- 2028
The ten minute drive from Baker Street to the Natural History Museum went by in a flash- most of it being spent by Mycroft giving you a mental tour of the building's various rooms and the 'most appropriate route to take'. Though it did also take a minute or two for you to convince him to not get everybody kicked out for a private visit, no matter how many people were there.. Admittedly, you hadn't been to the museum for 6 years or so now- after living so long in London it feels less of a luxury being only round the corner from it- but walking through the doors made you feel like a child again. Entry to the museum was free, but that didn't mean you didn't see Mycroft swiftly pushing a few notes into the donation bin at the front before guiding you forwards. Glancing up, you eyed the blue whale skeleton that hung from the ceiling and frowned. Mycroft caught your look and spoke up.
"Ah yes, Hope has been a relatively recent addition to the museum. She was found dead on an Irish beach back in 1891. It's a rather beautiful marvel to gaze upon, though, large as she is, she doesn't quite fill the hole in my heart that was left after my beloved Dippy was removed." Your eyes scanned the skeleton of the large mammal once more before looking back at Mycroft. "I did try to convince the board to keep the diplodocus somewhere but all attempts were futile. There's only so much force you can put into such a topic without exposing yourself as-"
"As a man who loves dinosaur bones more than he loves people?" Mycroft shoved his hands in his pockets and sighed.
"The very thing." Lifting your arm, you rested your hand at the crook of Mycroft's elbow to encourage him to move on.
"When we get home and have dinner we can raise a toast in Dippy's honour.. but for now, my mind's been taken over by that huge statue of Darwin." And the pair of you headed off, your hand very much staying place at Mycroft's arm as you wandered through the rooms- Mycroft more than willing to reel off facts about every deceased animal of history and, more often than not, even impressing the workers with his spiel of facts. Though you were very much enjoying wandering aimlessly through the room of human evolution, you most definitely noticed the pull from the man beside you as he was eager to reach his beloved dino-pals. As you turned the corner into the slightly darkened dinosaur room, you tripped over your feet slightly as you felt Mycroft stop in his tracks, his eyes wide and taking everything in. He looked as happy as a boy at Christmas and, quite frankly, it was adorable. You nudged him slightly when he still didn't move. "You okay?"
"Sorry, it just seems as though, no matter how many times I come here, it always feels like the first." He had shaken his head as though to bring his thoughts back to focus before taking a few steps into the gallery and leading you over to the skeletal remains of a Baryonyx. "The name Baryonyx roughly translates to 'Heavy Claw' from the Ancient Greek's 'Barys' meaning heavy and 'onyx' being claw or talon." He spoke, his voice smooth and relaxed as his fingers brushed over the board that announced the name of the creature within the glass. "It was also an excellent swimmer which it would use to its advantage while hunting." You listened to his every word as he spoke, grinning as he excitedly told you how many teeth it had and it's preferred techniques for capturing food before he moved you onto the next one.
"Oh these beauties have always been my favourite." You almost whispered, taking in the sight of the huge triceratops skull. You barely noticed Mycroft's hand shift from his pocket until you felt the heat of his palm against the small of your back, fingers squeezing slightly by your hip as he spoke.
"Mine too. Sherlock used to say they were boring and that we might as well have gone to the zoo to look at rhinos. He ended up spending 5 months trying to prove that the rhinos were descendants from the triceratops and then avoided me for 3 weeks when he realised there was no connection at all."
"That sounds about right. Though I can't imagine Sherlock enjoying it here very much anyway.." Mycroft began to guide you to a small bench just off the side to sit down, still giving you the view of the beautiful dinosaur bones.
"He didn't. When we were much younger he would kick off until Mummy and Father would tell us it's time to go and I had to go with them.. Then as we got a little older and Sherlock properly found his legs, he would simply run from the doors round to the science museum. Of course mummy and father had to follow him as he was so young, but one time I decided to stay here. They didn't realise I hadn't followed them until it was time to go home 5 hours later." Mycroft spoke quietly.
"Found his legs? That's at, what, four? Five? How young were you?"
"I was 9 the first time, I think." Now, Mycroft, you don't just 'think'; you know. Your hand moved to rest above his own on his knee, brushing your thumb fondly over his knuckles. "But it isn't all bad. Some of my best days as a child were spent here, and a lot of the staff were very kind and would teach me extra facts that weren't displayed. There was one gentleman who even gave me his own copies of some books that they had here. I'd wander the whole museum in time but I always found myself back here on this bench just.. watching. This room felt more like home than my very house sometimes. It was the room where I could escape the real world and find peace. Eventually Mummy, Father and Sherlock stopped bothering with the visits because Sherlock found the science museum boring after he'd prove them wrong on something each time, but I'd still pop back in on occasion without them.. Coming to think about it, I've never actually brought anybody here with me at all." You squeezed at his fingers and settled back into the bench.
"Well I am incredibly glad that I found out about your little interest, and I feel even more honoured that you let me come here with you." You beamed. And it was the truth. Evidently, this little museum meant much more to Mycroft than you could have ever imagined and it warmed your heart to know that he trusted you to see him nerd out over some bones.
"Eventually I used this very building as the scaffolding to build my mind palace. My files on Sherlock, very appropriately, are nestled in the human biology room. But most people's information is either stored in the entrance, where Dippy remains over Hope, might I add, or in a few of the rooms I find less interesting.." You didn't have to ask to know he was referencing 'that room with all the bloody rocks'. "I love most of the galleries too much to taint them with information on people that aren't important. The likes of Gregory and Doctor Watson now reside in Hintze Hall as the years have passed." His eyes remained focused in front of him, unblinking, as though he was wandering the very halls at that moment.
"And where.. where are my files?" You had to ask, really. Since he was on the subject anyway. "If you've put them in the marine reptiles room when you know I'm terrified of the ocean I shall never forgive you." Mycroft's hand flipped beneath yours so the pads of your fingers brushed before he blinked and looked over to you, a small smile on his face.
"Here." Oh. Well that's.. something. You shifted to give him a quick kiss on his cheek, knowing he wasn't overly fond of PDA and tugged him to stand.
"And on that note, I think we should go and grab some lunch before you make me cry in front of the dinosaurs."
---
After lunch, you both spent a few more hours walking from room to room (and of course circling round to the dinosaur gallery again) before you decided to call it a day at 4pm. Before departing, you headed towards the toilets that happened to be beside the little gift shop and you had a browse while Mycroft was occupied. Grinning, you picked up a deep blue plush triceratops and stroked a finger across its back. It was just small enough that, after purchasing, you could hide the little guy in the loose fabric of the sweatshirt you wore, acting innocent as you waited back outside near the wall. After going to the bathroom yourself, the pair of you headed outside where a car was waiting for you. Sliding in the back seat, you couldn't contain your little gift anymore.
"Surprise!" You laughed, producing the small toy from under your clothes and into the hands of the man beside you. He studied it briefly before beginning to laugh himself as he reached into his inner pocket and handed you the matching dinosaur, though purple in colour. "God, we're such children aren't we?" You noted as you swapped plushie companions, each of you brushing a finger on its nose as though it were a small pet. "I daren't think what your colleagues would say if they knew you were now the proud owner of a baby triceratops teddy that's.." You glanced at the tag. "..Suitable for children aged 12 months plus!"
"Probably nothing as bad as if they realised said triceratops was going to take proud placement on my desk at home." He beamed. "Thank you, this really does mean a great deal to me." You knew he wasn't just talking about the toy that rolled around his long fingers and you shifted to rest your head lightly on his shoulder.
"We can come back any time. I, for one, know I'll never get bored of looking through the galleries.. Or I'll never get bored of watching you light up as we walk through said galleries. Either or works, really." He hummed in response, his emotions slightly overwhelmed from the day and its revelations into his past. "Plus there were about 10 other little dinos in the shop and I've always been one to want a full collection.. so, if we pace ourselves, that's at least 10 more trips."
"13.. Although that could be tripled if we take the colour variations into account."
"Oh, of course! Can't half-arse a collection or it's just pointless."
"I concur."
"That's settled then. Almost 40 more trips to finish off our collection.. And thennnn we can move onto the figurines." Mycroft let out a laugh beside you and tilted to rest his head atop yours for the remainder of the journey home.
---
The evening between you was shared over a meal (where, as promised, a small toast was made to the memory of Sir Dippy) before Mycroft sat to finish the papers for Greg. Eventually you collapsed into bed at a relatively reasonable time, groaning at the throbbing in your legs from the day's adventure before finally slipping into rest.
---
The next day passed relatively quickly. The morning was spent visiting Greg in his office to drop off the papers before the pair of you took a small stroll through the streets of London. Eventually, Mycroft and yourself even got a text message from Sherlock giving a (albeit half-arsed) apology for his behaviour the day before and the rest of the day was spent in bliss. That was until exactly 17 minutes after you got back home when Mycroft's mobile began to ring. He swallowed deeply, showing you the caller ID of the person he had been dreading to speak to post-Eurus and answering.
"Ah, yes.. Hello, Mummy."

Friends with Added Benefits (part 6)
Warnings - pregnancy / smut
Taglist @queenshelby @margoo0 @being-worthy @peakyscillian @ntmynouis @janelongxox @elenavampire21 @noctvrnalmoth @ysmmsy @cloudofdisney @lauren-raines-x @namelesslosers @misscarolineshelby @screemqueen
Filming had finished three weeks ago, and Cillian's flight from Dublin had landed at Heathrow an hour earlier. He'd been home for a fortnight sorting out a few things before he moved into your Kilburn home for three months. You'd made the announcement to the cast and crew who were simply stunned. It had taken them a while to get their heads around but after a few moments of silence that panicked you completely, the room had erupted into cheers, laughter and happy tears, most of which were your own.
The gate opened, and there he was walking towards you. Hand luggage slung over his shoulder, grin on his face as he enveloped you in his arms gently, one hand on your stomach, the other on your cheek as he kissed you. The elusive, normally private man in front of you not caring who could see.
"Missed you two."
"We missed you too Daddy. Ready to go?" He nodded as he took your hand and you walked together to the luggage carousel. Grabbing his suitcase, you walked to your car and jumped in, heading to your house.
"So... I have a surprise for you," you smiled as you drove.
"A surprise?"
"Yep. Have to wait until tomorrow I'm afraid."
"Ah you can't do that to me!"
"Just did," you smirked.
"I have a surprise for you actually.."
"Do you now?"
"Yeah, should be arriving in a couple of days. You'll have to wait and see though."
"Cillian!!"
"What!? You won't tell me yours either?!" He laughed, letting go of your hand as you changed gears.
He'd unpacked his things, and settled down with you on the sofa, opening his legs and pulling your body between them, your back resting against his chest as he stroked your arms lightly.
"You look beautiful y/n..."
"I'm not feeling beautiful, I feel like a whale!" Your hands rested against your stomach as his hands reached up and rested on top of yours.
"You're glowing. Pregnancy suits you." He moved his hands toward the bottom of your bump, roaming all over it feeling around. He jumped suddenly, making you laugh.
"The fuck was that?"
"She kicked you!" You took his hand again and placed it against your belly so he could feel it again. Like clockwork, there it was again. The lightest of movements but he could feel it.
"He knows his Daddy's here doesn't he?"
"She."
"He."
You took his hand and moved it under your maternity dress, edging him closer to where you'd been desperate for him these last few weeks.
"You sure it's okay?" He questioned.
"It's fine as long as you're not too rough. Pregnancy is doing all sorts to my hormones Cillian.."
"Better take care of you then hadn't I?" His fingers slipped inside your underwear, finding you slick and wet already. Lifting some of your juices up, he found your clit and rubbed it gently, feeling your body arch against his chest.
"That's it... Keep doing that..."
"I've missed your body.. feeling you writhe against me when you come..."
"Harder... Cillian please..."
"I'll get you there doll... Keep making those sexy little sounds for me yeah..." He thrust his erection against your back as his fingers pushed harder, you could feel yourself unravelling quickly.
"Don't fucking stop... I'm gonna come... Cill..." His lips were on your neck as you shuddered underneath him, breathy little whimpers as you came hard.
He lifted you off him gently and pulled his jeans down, turning so his feet were back on the floor. You stood up, before moving backwards to sit on his lap, your back still against his chest as you sunk slowly down on him. He gripped your waist, and helped ease your body up and down on him.
"Fuck you feel so tight at this angle..." His hands roamed over your belly as you rode him, you could hear him groaning as you bucked your hips in circles.
"Make me cum again Murphy..." He leaned your body back and held your hips steady as he thrusted up into you, hitting the spot you needed with each thrust.
"Gonna make you scream my name in every room in this house... Gonna fill you up again after this baby arrives, you want that?" His words were driving you insane with need, you couldn't stop your orgasm if you tried.
"Wanna keep me pregnant do you Daddy?"
"Shit... Yes... Cum with me y/n..." His thrusts came a little quicker and you came together, collapsing onto the sofa in each others arms.
You woke up with him holding your body close the following morning, and you swore you'd never get used to it. It felt too perfect, too natural. You hadn't slept as well as you had last night since that time he'd fallen asleep in your hotel room.
"Ready for your surprise babe?" You nudged him gently and smiled as he nuzzled into your back.
"You gonna tell me what it is?"
"Nope. Just get dressed and be ready to go in 30 minutes. I promise you a McDonald's breakfast on the way."
"You're just craving pancakes..."
"Sausage McMuffin actually."
You pulled up outside the maternity hospital an hour later and scrunched up the wrapper of your breakfast.
"I can't believe you just ate 3 of those things," he laughed, as you both got out the car.
"Your baby is constantly hungry, dunno where she gets that from!"
"He!!" He laughed as you took his hand and walked him through the corridors, stopping outside the ultrasound department.
"Wanna see your baby Cillian?" He looked at the sign on the door and back at you, biting his lip, eyes gently watering.
"Fucks sake I'm not even in there and you got me going!" You slapped his arm playfully and pulled him through the door with you.
Confirming your details with reception, the lady at the desk asked why Cillian Murphy had joined you for the appointment.
"I'm the father." He announced proudly, making the receptionist smile.
"Absolutely not supposed to say this so please don't tell my boss, but I always knew you two would get together. Congratulations," she smiled, and you both thanked her, laughing and promising not to get her in trouble.
You lay on the bed, Cillian's hand in yours as your midwife ran the doppler over your belly. Within seconds you could see your baby and Cillian squeezed your hand tight. He was staring at the screen, completely transfixed, firing questions at lightening speed. Your midwife couldn't help but laugh and answered as many as she could.
"Do you want to know what you're having?" You looked at Cillian, the choice would be his.
"Kinda like the idea of a surprise.. I'm enjoying arguing about it with you too," he smiled and you agreed - you'd leave it as a surprise.
"I'll sort some photos out for you both - how many would you like?"
"I think we'll have four please. We can send a copy to the grandparents too?" Your parents lived in Spain, his were back in Ireland. You'd both promised them a photo in the post as soon as you had one to send.
"My mam is gonna kill me that we didn't find out!" Cillian laughed when you got back home. "She's already got the knitting patterns out.."
"Tell her to go with green, you look good in green so I've no doubt your daughter will too."
"You mean my son?"
"Mhmm. Whatever. Now what's my surprise?"
"It should have been delivered actually, they were early. Hang on..." He pulled his phone out and clicked a few buttons. "It's with your neighbour, which side is 432?" You pointed to his left and he kissed you, telling you to go inside and wait in the kitchen, playfully telling you to put the kettle on while you were there.
You heard him opening the door 15 minutes later laughing as he pulled the massive boxes through the hallway.
"Your neighbour hates Tommy Shelby.. gave me a right earful before handing this over, told me I'm a womanising cheat who's probably riddled with the clap... She didn't know what to say when I told her I'd probably given it to you and our baby!" You laughed as he came through to you and covered your eyes, leading you into the hallway. He stood you still and uncovered then, and you saw the photo on the boxes. A beautiful, ornate wooden cot with Winnie the Pooh engravings all over it. A large chest of drawers with the same engravings, a changing table and changing matt. It was a full nursery set. You turned to him with tears in your eyes and threw your arms around him.
"Cillian it's beautiful... This must've cost you a fortune?!"
"That's not important. I've booked decorators next week to build it all and decorate your spare room into a nursery."
"What?!"
"We won't be here obviously. I'm taking you away for a few days."
"I don't know what to say!!"
"I'm the best boyfriend in the world?" You smirked.
"Boyfriend eh?"
"I'd like to think so. For now at least."
"For now?"
"Yeah - you never know, might promote myself one day." He winked.

You were in the last month or so of your pregnancy and you were miserable. The Peña men had you refined to your bed or the couch and you were grateful. Your ankles were swollen, your back was killing you and the babies weren’t giving you a minutes rest. With bed rest though came loneliness and with loneliness came overthinking and you were starting to overthink everything. So when Javi had told you that Connie had offered to come out and stay until the babies had arrived you were over the moon.
Today was the day she was arriving and you couldn’t wait. Javier had been busy getting the house ready for the babies. The nursery had been decorated, toy army arranged and furniture had been built. So now his days were spent getting the other house ready for his dad. Chucho was there to wait on you hand and foot when he could but he still had a ranch to run so you spent most of your days alone. Javier had driven to collect the Murphy’s from the airport. Steve was coming down for a few days before heading back to Miami but Connie and Olivia were going to be with you for at least the next month.
It was a little afternoon when they arrived.
You were settled on the couch watching a nature documentary when the door swung open and two golden heads came into view. Connie almost threw herself at you, arms circling your shoulders as she squeezed you tightly.
“You’re so big now.” She squealed as she cooed over your bump.
“I’m a whale.” You sighed, pushing yourself up a little so you could see everyone better.
“You are glowing Mi Amor.” Gushed Javier and you rolled your eyes at him.
“You have to say that Peña.” You grumbled, “You’re the one who got me into this mess.”
“She’s got a point dude.” Conceded Steve, flinching when Javier punches his arm "Mind Olivia." He moaned before the toddle slapped his cheek with her little hand.
"Seems like Livie agrees with me." Chuckled the agent.
Pushing yourself to your feet, you rolled your eyes when Javier leapt to your side and grabbed your arms in order to support you as you waddled along.
“I can walk Javier.” You snapped, sighing when you saw hurt flash across his face “Sorry baby. I’m just a little fed up. Not sure if I can go another month.”
“You know it's common for twins to come early?” Stated Connie and you nodded, rubbing your aching belly as you tottered towards the kitchen.
“Yeah the Doctor did tell us and I’m praying they do. I’m getting impatient now.” You chuckled, pulling out a bottle of water from the fridge before plonking yourself down on one of the kitchen chairs, already exhausted from your short walk.
“You’re doing so well baby.” Said Javier lovingly as he placed a sweet kiss on your forehead “So proud of you, growing out little angels.”
~
Connie, Steve and Olivia were such a welcome distraction.
Steve helped Javier get the guesthouse finished and then had helped Chucho officially move in.
Connie took excellent care of you whilst Olivia and you played. She was fascinated by your bump and how it moved as the babies wriggled around inside. She loved to lay her little head on it, chuckling when she'd get nudged by a foot.
"You like that Liv?" You asked as she chuckled at you, clapping in delight.
'Ye." She squealed.
She'd started to pick up words. Now able to answer yes or no questions and you felt the maternal side of you overflow with pride and each milestone she'd hit.
"Would you like a little brother or sister Liv?" You asked as Connie popped your tea beside you before taking a seat in the armchair across from you.
"YE!" She yelled and she chuckled.
"Well, there you have it Con."
"Well actually..." She started before falling silent, grinning behind her mug and your mouth dropped.
"You're not?"
"I am." She nodded excitedly and you practically screamed in excitement, Olivia mirroring your reaction.
"What... How... wh-" You paused as you processed what she'd just told you "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Well, we wanted to wait till we passed the 12-week mark before we told people. You know how we've struggled in the past and we didn't want to jinx it." You nodded in understanding, knowing they'd lost a baby a few years back.
"And so everything's okay?"
"Perfect." She said as she pulled some images from her back and passed them to you.
"This is amazing Con." You said sweetly as you gazed at the photos "I'm so happy for you both." You finished as you smiled up at your best friend.
~
It was the last day before Steve was due to return to Miami and you had suggested that the men go out for dinner and few drinks. You were hoping for a relaxed evening, just you and Connie but you could tell that Javier wasn’t sure about leaving you.
“Are you sure you’re going to be okay?” He asked, his big brown eyes making your stomach flip.
“Baby. We’ll be fine.” You chuckled “I’m in great hands here anyway!”
“Come on, you boys go have fun. Might be your last chance before the babies arrive.” Said Connie, giving his arm a friendly squeeze.
“You’ll call if you need anything?”
“Yes!”
“And you’ll take it easy?”
“Yes, Javier.” You groan.
“She won’t lift a finger for herself.” Stated Connie “Unless she needs the bathroom. There's a line.” She chuckled, eliciting a laugh from both you and Javi.
“Fine.” He said, finally giving in “You girls have fun.”
Little did you know that everything was about to change.
~
The first contraction was so mild you barely noticed it. Rubbing your belly, you groaned as you shifted in your seat in an attempt to get comfortable but as the evening went on they became more intense. You’d been warned that you might experience false contractions or Braxton Hicks so you’d decided to ignore them, convinced that they would pass.
It was around 6 when you realised that they weren’t.
“Con.”
“Hmmm.”
“I think I’m in labour.”
...
“I really appreciate you and Con coming out here.” Said Javier as he gave his friend a genuine smile “The Mrs has been really struggling the last few months so I know that she really appreciates Connie being here for the last leg of this. I honestly have no idea what I’m doing. Even Olivia's doing a better job of keeping her happy.” He chuckled as he glanced at his pops “Seems like everything I do is wrong.”
“She’s growing two people inside of her Mijo.” Piped up Chucho, giving his son’s arm a friendly squeeze “She’s entitled to be snappy.”
...
“Your contractions are close together hun.” Stated Connie, holding your hand as another one ripped through you “How close is the nearest hospital?"
“47 minutes.” You panted “Timed… drive.”
“Right well I don’t think the you’re gonna last to the hospital hun.” She stated, “Do you know where the boys went?”
“NO.” You screamed, tears streaming down your flushed cheeks as you tried to breathe the pain.
She sprinted to the bedroom and grabbed a few pillows before making a b-line for the bathroom and grabbing some towels. bringing them to you in the lounge and arranging them so she could make you as comfortable as possible. Next, she grabbed the washing up bowl from under the sink and filled it with some warm water, knowing she’d need it to clean up the babies when they arrived.
“Right, sweetheart I need you to trust me.” She started as she pulled down your leggings and underwear “We’re going to have to deliver the babies here. I’m going to take a look and see how dilated you are.”
“SI.” You screamed and she looked at you in confusion.
“Odd time to scream for your ex.” She said before returning her attention to the job at hand.
“No… Call him… He could tell us where Javi is.” You panted out and she nodded in understanding, flicking through the phonebook beside the phone and dialling in the bar's number.
Silently grateful that Olivia's a heavy sleeper.
...
“Wonder what the girls are up to.” Said Steve as he took a swig of his beer.
“Probably watching crappy tv and gushing over all the baby clothes I spent a fortune on the other day.” Chuckled Javier “Si, reckon we can get another?”
“Sure thing.” Said the man as he grabbed two more beers “Another soda Chucho?”
“I think I’m good.” Said the older man “Will be bouncing off the walls.”
“Now that I’d like to see.” Chuckled the bartender as he walked over to the ringing phone and answering it, smile falling as he flicked his head towards Javier.
“What is it?”
“You need to go home.” He stated and Javier immediately started to panic.
“What's going on?” Asked Steve, pulling his eyes from the game on the screen and noting the now tense atmosphere.
“She’s in labour.”
~
‘Where is he?” You sobbed, contractions now so much closer together.
“They’ll be here soon sweetie. I just need you to breathe for me okay?” She instructed and you tried your best to do as she asked “I’ve called an ambulance too but hun…” She paused, glancing down before locking your gaze again “You’re going to have to start pushing real soon.”
“No.” You sobbed, shaking your head as tears stained your shirt “No I can’t.”
“You have to.” She said, stroking your hair away from your sweat-slick brow.
“I need Javi.” You wailed “Where’s Javi!.”
“I’m here baby.” Came a familiar voice and you sobbed “I’m right here beside you Mi Amor.”
Everything around you seemed to disappear and suddenly it was just you and him. Even the pain seemed to disappear and you cried as he pulled you in for a kiss but the moment was cut short when the worst contraction yet tore through you.
“Right hun you need to push.”
“No… I can’t.” You choke on a hiccup as you shake your head.
“Baby, if you don’t push then we won’t meet our babies.” Said Javier sweetly “You can do it, mi corazón.”
Connie ordered you to push and you did. Over and over until you were left limp on the cushions she’d so carefully laid underneath you.
“One more hun.” She said and you weren’t sure you had it in you “Come on he’s almost here.”
That was what you needed to make that final push.
With one more gargantuan effort, his cries filled the air and you let out a relieved sob as you watched her hand him to Steve so he could wash him. Not even noticing Javi cutting the cord. Chucho took his from the blonde agent after he was wrapped in one of the soft blankets you'd bought and bounced him in his arms, desperate to quiet him a little.
“How are you feeling sweetheart.” Asked Connie and you looked at her with a painted expression.
“Exhausted.”
“Well, you don’t have long sweetheart.” She said sympathetically “Your baby girl is on her way.”
She wasn’t lying either. It seemed like you had no time at all to rest before your baby girl started to make her entrance. The orders to push were repeated and you did. Pulling at whatever reserves you had left to push your baby girl into the world and when you made the final one you allowed yourself to ultimately collapse bonelessly onto the makeshift bed as you watched Javi cut the cord and hand her to Steve to be cleaned.
It took a moment for it to register.
You were so tired.
There was crying, but those were your son's cries.
She wasn’t crying.
Why wasn’t she crying?
“Why isn’t she crying?” Javier asked, staring at Connie as she checked over your newborn daughter.
She said nothing. She was calm as she waited for the tiny infant to show any signs of life but after a few minutes, she started CPR. Javier held you as the two of you watched the woman work, unable to control your emotions as fat tears started to fall. Chucho stood with your son in his arms and watched the terrifying spectacle, unable to help the few tears that slipped down his cheeks.
Then you heard the most beautiful sound.
“There you go.” Said Connie as she smiled down at the screaming infant “That's in sweetheart.” She said as she placed the wriggling baby in your arms.
“Don’t scare us like that baby girl.” Said Javier as he looked down lovingly at the tiny being in your arms.
“Don’t forget this little chap.” Said Chucho as he kneeled beside you and placed your son in your other arm.
You took a moment to stare down at your two tiny tots, forehead resting against Javier’s as you basked in the moment. Your whole body was shaking with exertion. You could smell what had happened as you pushed one of your children into the world but you didn’t care. No one did.
Your babies were here.
Everything else was irrelevant.
~
One Week Later…
You and Javier sat cuddled up on the couch, you holding your son and him holding your daughter. Connie was busy helping Chucho in the kitchen, still adamant that she stay a few weeks to help. The two of you had been struggling to come up with names. Nothing seemed to fit and you'd expected to have a little more time.
The ambulance had arrived a little while after you’d delivered and you were rushed to the hospital where they kept you and the babies in overnight. They were happy to discharge you the following day though and you’d quickly settled into a routine. You were sore, struggling to sit down on any chair that you had in the house. So you had almost sobbed when Si turned up with the most beautiful rocking chair you’d ever seen.
“Mae and I bought it when she was expecting and I dunno… I could never bring myself to get rid of it.” He stated, shrugging his shoulders as he placed the chair down “It’s supposed to be really good for breastfeeding and all that. You don’t have to keep it but…'
You stopped his rambling with a kiss on his cheek.
“It’s perfect.” You said sweetly, smiling when his eyes locked onto your son in your arms “Would you like to hold him?”
His eyes grew wide as he looked up at you with childlike excitement and he nodded eagerly, carefully taking him from you and cradling him with such care. You couldn’t help but swoon at the sight. The man would always hold a place in your heart but as Javier came to stand beside you, your sleeping daughter in his arms you swooned even harder.
“We actually had something we wanted to ask you.” Piped up Javier after a few minutes, Si looking up from your son to study you both.
“Well, we wondered if maybe, you’d like to be their godfather?” You said, watching him with hopeful eyes as he processed what you'd just said.
He said nothing. The tears in his eyes was all the answer that you needed and after a few more minutes of gushing over your son, he handed you back you little boy before stealing your daughter from Javier.
“You got names for them yet?” He asked as he bounced her in his arms.
“No.’ You grumbled, “Nothing feels right.”
“Mae and I were expecting a girl,” He said as he smiled down at yours “Had a name picked out as soon as we learned the sex.”
“What was it?” You asked as you sat down on the couch.
“Layla.” He stated, “Reckon she looks like a Layla.” He said with a watery smile, bringing her forehead to his lips and placing a gentle kiss there.
You looked at Javier. Sharing a mental conversation before he turned his head to the man and placed a friendly arm around Si’s shaking shoulders.
“She really does man.” He said, gently pinching her chubby little cheek “Layla Mae Peña.”
The man looked up at Javier and let out a choked sob before looking down at the tiny little being in his arms.
“If that's okay with you?” Javier asked and Si looked at him again.
“It’s more than okay.” The man replied.
“What about Luca for the other one.” Piped up Steve and you all chuckled, the soft moment broken by his eloquence.
“The other one?” You boomed.
“That’s my son Pendejo.” Javier jested as he gave his partner a playful punch on the arm.
“Luca and Layla.” You said, testing the names on your tongue “I think we’ve found their names.” You stated as you laid a gentle kiss on Luca’s nose.
“Does kinda sound like Luke and Leia.” Pointed out Connie and you chuckled again.
“I don’t see what the issue is.” Piped up Javier and everyone chuckled.
“Course you wouldn’t.” Teased Steve “Nerd.”
"You next Con." You said as you looked at the blonde who was cradling a sleeping Olivia on her shpoulder.
"Wait what?" Said Javier, confused by your statement "You're pregnant?"
"Mhmmm." She nodded, smirking at Javier's shock.
"Why didn't you tell me." He whined as he looked at his partner in shock.

PPG One-Shot: Spelling Bee (Brick/Blossom)
Happy birthday to @genovah! She is always inspiring me to come up with more PPG content, a true hero. I’m back with another entry in the ongoing Shooketh, Not Stirred high school AU Reds series for your entertainment. As always, this can be read alone, but it happens in the same universe as part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, and part 5. This is also posted on my AO3.
Summary: Brick and Blossom hunker down in the library to study for the upcoming regional spelling bee.
***Reblogs are extremely appreciated, since this probably won’t show up in the tags due to cursing. Thank you! <3
xxx
In fairness, Brick had come to the library during his free period with the pure intention to learn. And he was certainly learning something. But somewhere between sliding into his seat opposite Blossom and watching her lips move around insouciant as if it were a strawberry slathered in ganache, his purity was torn from his weak, teenage boy fingers and there was absolutely no going back.
“Brick, are you listening to me?” She touched his hand across the table.
“Yup.”
“Did you need me to repeat the word?”
“Yup.”
“In-SOO-see-uhnt.” She sounded it out slowly, and hand to god, that dominating SOO went straight to his cock.
This, of course, was fine.
“Origin?” he asked.
She twirled her hair around her finger and puckered her lips. “French.”
Fuck.
“I…”
Blossom mistook his increasingly horny stupor for plain old stupor and sighed. “Are you even trying? Because if I didn’t know better, I’d say you were completely fine with Darla Dimpleton going to regionals instead of one of us.”
“I am not fine with that.”
Darla Dimpleton was an unassuming, unthreatening nobody with the personality of plain oatmeal. Brick would never have even bothered to learn her name had she not committed the cardinal sin of scoring so much extra credit while everyone else was busy having lives that she stole the number one GPA right from under him. Which meant she stole it from under Blossom too. Which meant Brick was no longer a respectable silver medal to Blossom’s gold, but currently ranked third and therefor merely happy to be on the podium at all (and for the record, no one has ever been happy merely to be on the podium, just like no one has ever been happy winning Most Improved: you sucked, and now you suck a little less. Except this time, you actually suck more because Darla fucking Dimpleton decided to Quaker Oats her way to the top of this rat race that doesn’t actually matter, but it’s the principle of the thing, i.e., the only thing that matters.).
All of this to say, Darla Dimpleton was the Worst™ and she was one hundred percent going down.
“Are you sure? Because you’re being awfully cavalier about this. Some might even call you insouciant.”
It was a testament to Brick’s powerful fondness for winning and being seen doing it that he spelled insouciant in one Darla Dimpleton-shaped cock blocking breath.
Blossom smiled like she knew something. “Much better.”
Yeah, she knows a lot of things.
The problem with dating, Brick was convinced, was that suddenly the mundane became extraordinary. Everyday experiences that he had previously taken for granted—flying around Townsville, enjoying a cup of coffee, thwarting his sometimes murderous demonic overlord from distributing incriminating polaroids, that sort of thing—were suddenly exciting, thrilling even. Because now he got to do those things with Blossom, and Blossom was cool in a smarmy, elitist sort of way that both softened his heart and hardened his dick all at the same time, and that was kind of A Lot to deal with at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday.
“All right, do me,” Blossom said, and Brick coughed so badly his aforementioned weak, teenage boy fingers shook to stifle himself.
Mercy, he thought, probably. But all his blood was rushing south and it was going to take a supernatural willpower to get through these words so that one of them could beat the upstart porridge peasant to this year’s regional spelling bee.
“You’re the boss,” he said, because it was true, and also because he liked the way she looked at him when he said it. Like he was now the ganache-coated strawberry in this overextended metaphor that he was too laden with Homeric concupiscence being in her general proximity to unpack.
Concupiscence, there’s a ten dollar word for you, you horny genius.
He made a mental note to brag to Blossom about this later.
“Okay, let’s see…” Brick made a show of organizing the flashcards so that she wouldn’t see him discreetly re-situate his pants under the table. “Your word is cymotrichous.”
Blossom tapped her lips, and Brick found himself sympathizing with the Puritans in their absolute befuddlement over the libidinous effect of women having lips. Witchcraft, surely. “Could you use it in a sentence for me?”
Compelled entirely by black magic and therefor not responsible for his imminently questionable choices, Brick obliged her with: “Thinking about how I’d rather run my fingers through your cymotrichous hair for the rest of free period instead of sit here spelling words no one’s ever heard of.”
Blossom, who he was dead certain was extremely thirsty for him and had been for years long before they ever reconciled their rivalry, leaned over the desk separating them. Her hair, long and loose and indeed quite wavy today, was tempting. “Brick, are you flirting with me?”
It was a well-known fact of being a Weak-Fingered, Teenage Boy that one must never reveal such weakness, especially not in front of one’s girlfriend. On the other hand, co-opting said weakness and rebranding it as the suave truth was galaxy brain levels of flirting. And Brick, as has already been established, was a horny genius. “Yup.” He leaned in to meet her, and he twirled her hair between his fingers because they were weak for her, indeed. “How am I doing?”
Blossom, too determined to let her thirst deter her from her goal of sweet, academic retribution and bragging rights, tapped a finger to his lips. “Great. But we have so many words to spell, and only thirty minutes left to do them all. So get shuffling, stud.”
Well, he could work with that. One thing that made his relationship with Blossom work very well was their insatiable competitiveness. Whether they were whaling on each other over an empty parking lot, debating the efficacy of post-its as a note-taking device, or combining their powers to Captain Planet a cornmeal know-it-all back down the leaderboard where she belonged, they were relentless glory chasers. And the greater the challenge, the more they enjoyed the experience and each other.
Blossom spelled her word perfectly, by the way. She stretched out the o-u-s at the end in a bewitching little whisper as she pulled away and her hair slipped through his fingers. That moment when the light changes and the temperature shifts and you’re weightless in a state of existential anticipation of something monumental about to happen, but not quite? That happened. Thirty minutes to explore the shape of that anticipation was enough time to taste it but not enough to savor it. Which, Brick supposed, was about to make this the best thirty minutes he was likely going to get all week.
“Are you ready?” Blossom watched him from behind the card she’d drawn. She had a glint in her eyes that told him she was smiling behind that card.
“Anytime.”
“Your word is eudaemonic.”
That fucking gorgeous ooh again.
“Define it.”
Blossom flushed as though he had just ordered her to bend over. She bit her lip (it must have been a ten Hail Mary’s kind of day when the Witch-Finder General caught a flesh and blood woman doing that with her improbably sorcerous lips) and grinned. “It means producing happiness. Based on the idea of happiness as the proper end of conduct.”
Producing happiness, which is proper, much like how Blossom came off as proper and even prim around adults, when really she was the most fun, most confident, most person he’d ever met, especially when she was spelling in that chiffon top (son of a bitch, that was a great top on her), and the only conduct he was interested in was of the happiest kind.
“Oh.” His throat clenched, and then his stomach twisted, and then his pants grew little too tight again in a full-body chain reaction that began and ended with a fierce determination not to give in first even though it would mean release because release would be meaningless without this etymological tête-à-tête.
Don’t think about tête-à-têtes.
Seventeenth century, noun, borrowed from the French meaning literally “head to head” (please, please stop hurting yourself like this).
“Brick?”
Brick cleared his throat. “Yup. Got it. E-u-d…”
Crisis averted, Brick picked the next card and promptly choked on his own tongue. Blossom made a show like she was concerned and are you all right? and please drink some water. Brick drank her water, which of course she had had her anatomically heretical lips on earlier, which was just fantastic for him. Tuesday fucking morning.
Milieu was her word.
“Milieu, hmm.” Blossom’s smile was spellbinding, which was a pun because he punned when he panicked. “Origin?”
You bitch, he thought, and be cool, and also, witchcraft.
Brick leaned back in his chair, slipped his trembling hands in his pockets, and squeezed every ounce of anything you can do I can do better into a winsome grin. “French.”
Blossom’s adult-facing façade cracked like an egg, and he got a glimpse of the raw delight she felt for this game, for the words, and for him for making it happen. For cultivating the electric milieu, if you will, currently driving them both into a state of impassioned, competitive euphoria at 9:42 a.m. in the library.
“Right, um…” She stumbled over her words, and Brick had to restrain himself from crowing for joy and risk the rheumy-eyed librarian coming to scold them.
By the time they got through another set of words, they were each visibly frustrated and doubly turned on by the other’s masochistic resolve not to throw in the towel.
“Okay, ready for another round?”
She wasn’t even trying to hide her intentions now, and that was just fine with Brick. “Of course.”
One more.
If it was another French word, he was fucking done.
“Really?” Blossom truly had ice in her veins for the way she was able to school her face then. He couldn’t read her, and that was very bad.
If it’s another fucking French word…
He could be over the desk and on her faster than you could say concupiscence.
“Okay.” Blossom set down the flashcard she’d drawn and folded her hands on the table. She looked him dead in the eye licked her lips. “Succedaneum.”
The bookshelf shook but Brick’s fingers didn’t as they pinned Blossom’s over a Dewey Decimal-stamped spine and he kissed her with all the horny passion of a teenage genius who would make a note to thank the devil for giving women lips. One of his better ideas.

“Hey, has anyone seen Blossom? I’ve sent her, like, four texts!” Bubbles shoved her phone, open to the ignored texts in question, in her sister’s face. “She was supposed to help me with Chem homework.”
Buttercup ducked. “No, and watch where you’re swinging that thing.”
“I saw her earlier,” Boomer said. “She was with Brick coming out of first period.”
“Oh, yeah.” Mike slung his arm around Boomer’s shoulders. “Don’t they both have a free period right now?”
Buttercup rolled her eyes. “What a scam. Whoever decided to give the A-students free periods while the rest of us mere mortals gotta slave away is a straight-up Supervillain.”
Boomer snapped his fingers. “Hey, I just remembered! They both decided to compete for the spot at the regional spelling bee this year. I bet that’s what they’re doing.”
“God, that’s the saddest thing I have ever heard in my life. That’s a new low even for Blossom.”
“I heard there’s a cash prize for the regional winner,” Bubbles said. “It’s like twenty thousand bucks! Remember, everyone in school signed up and we had to have that assembly to narrow it down?”
“Twenty thou— How the tits did I miss that?!”
“I mean, it was all over the school,” Mike said. “We signed up too.”
“What? And no one thought to tell me I could’ve won the lottery?”
Boomer chuckled. “Dude, come on. You wouldn’t have stood a chance in hell against Darla Dimpleton.”
“Who?”
Bubbles cast Boomer a not worth it look, and he just sighed. “So, if they’re studying for the spelling bee, do you think they’re in the library?”
At that moment, Butch came bursting down the hall a little too fast to be human. Open lockers rattled on their hinges as he passed, and a Sophomore girl’s binder went flying, scattering looseleaf papers everywhere. Buttercup looked ready to punch him in the dick for breaking the no powers in school rule. “Guys, you’re gonna shit!”
“Calm down before you blow a load, Jesus Christ.” Buttercup yanked him back down to the floor so he wouldn’t spontaneously float.
Sensibly, Boomer asked, “Why?”
“‘Cause Brick and Blossom are making out in the library right now!”
Mike cringed. “Oh, come on.”
“The hell they are,” Buttercup said.
Bubbles smiled. “Good for them.”
“I’m serious! There were books everywhere, and the noise—”
“Oh look, there goes my dignity. Better catch it before it gets away. C’mon, moron.” Buttercup dragged Butch down the hall over his protests. “What were you even doing in the library? I didn’t think you knew where it was…”
“Like that could ever happen,” Mike said. “Those two wouldn’t waste a minute of study time if it means beating out the competition.”
Boomer did not look so convinced. “I don’t know. I mean, they’re officially, for real dating now,”—“Finally!” Mike interjected—“so it’s not that unbelievable.”
The bell for the next period rang. Bubbles groaned thinking of stewing for an hour of Chem. At least she shared that class with Boomer and would not have to suffer alone. They parted from Mike and walked together through the throng of students rushing to get to their next period.
“Hey, do you think…”
“I mean…” Boomer shrugged.
They rounded the corner and nearly ran into Blossom dashing to her next class with a rushed “Got your texts talk later bye!” before she disappeared into the crowd.
Bubbles whirled on Boomer. “Did you see her buttons—”
“Completely uneven—”
The late bell rang and made them jump. Among the last stragglers, they both dashed a bit too fast to get to class and made it to their seats just as Mr. Micelli finished writing a problem on the board.
Boomer winked when she caught his eye a couple desks away from hers, and it took everything she had not to laugh.
“Good for her,” Bubbles said to herself.
“You are late,” Mr. Micelli said.
Everyone turned to watch Brick sink into his seat, his short hair totally askew and looking healthily flushed for a Tuesday morning.
Boomer burst out laughing and needed a whole minute to calm down.
He’d tell her later that the detention was worth it.

Hold My Phone
By: SassyShoulderAngel319
Fandom/Character(s): A Court of Thorns and Roses Series/Rhysand
Rating: PG-11/T- (v seductive flirting)
Original Idea: Modern!AU (kinda sorta not really)
Notes: (Masterlist)(By Character)(About Me) This one is so ridiculous. It’s basically a “Everything is Pretty Much the Same but They Have Phones” AU, not really a modern AU because I figured this would be how Rhys would handle having a phone with the High Lord act, lol
^^^^^
My phone buzzed in my pocket. In a meeting with some Autumn Court emissaries. I’m bored. Entertain me? Rhys’ text said.
Why are you texting me? Just use the mating bond, I texted back.
Yeah but I want these idiots to *know* that I’m bored of them and can’t be bothered to give them my attention.
Playing games with them?
Always.
Exactly how do you propose I entertain you?
It took his answer a few minutes to arrive. I wondered if it was because he was thinking about the wickedest, most flirtatious thing to say or something came up in the meeting that he did actually have to give his attention to.
What are you wearing right now? I shouldn’t have been surprised that was his reply.
My purple outfit. The dark purple one with the stars embroidered into it.
I’m debating asking you to send me a picture of you in it or asking you to take it off and send me a picture of *that*
I am not sending you any pictures while you’re in a meeting. I hadn’t replied to a text that quickly in a while.
His reply came quickly too, Send it down the mating bond then. No records ;)
I rolled my eyes and got to my feet. Up in our room, I stood in front of the full-length mirror, stared at myself while lowering my mental shield, shot the image I was looking at—fully clothed—down the bond, and then slammed my shields back into place.
It took seconds for an answering image of Rhys licking his lips with a feral gleam in his eyes to bump into my shield. I rolled my eyes. My phone buzzed. Delicious. As always, darling.
Happy?
Deliriously.
Go back to your meeting, you flirt. I’ll see you later.
But I’m still bored.
Don’t be a baby. I have a meeting in 30 minutes I have to get ready for with the governor of the Palace of Threads and Jewels.
What are you meeting with the governor for?
I don’t think it’s any big deal. Probably just going over some requests from patrons who have gathered together a bunch of things rather than hauling themselves up 10,000 stairs to the House.
Good luck.
You too. I set my phone down on my vanity. I hated getting rid of the loose pants and sleeves but I knew for a meeting like this that I’d need a gown.
I sent Rhys mental images of every gown I tried on before selecting one, and every hairstyle I thought of doing, asking his opinion and ultimately ignoring it when he seductively told me he liked the most revealing dress with my hair unbound. I definitely called him a name I had no plans on apologizing for before replacing my shields.
I ended up going with a modest midnight blue gown glittering with silver threads that would be appropriately formal, but not so formal it felt like an occasion. Instead of a tiara or crown or diadem I kept my hair out of my face with a comb that was made of black metal and studded with diamond dust to look like the night sky. Crescent moon-shaped sapphire taking up most of the space in the middle.
Nuala and Cerridwen approved of my choices and I shooed myself out to go see the governor.
—
I collapsed on the bed after leaving my dress abandoned on the floor. The meeting was exactly what I thought it would be and after all the requests I was tired. I genuinely cared about my people but putting forth the mental strain of trying to figure out how to fix so many problems at once I started having to pretend to be chipper.
I hadn’t realized I dozed off until a weight falling onto the bed beside me woke me up.
Rhys fell in such a way that he could sprawl his wings above me, taking up a good portion of the bed. He was in casual clothing—silver-buttoned black shirt with the top button undone to let his tattoos peek out, black pants, low black boots—but I knew him better than to think he’d gone to the meeting in them. As he fell, he sighed. “That was tedious,” he remarked, setting a hand on the top of my head and scratching my hair. His fingers brushed my comb and he stopped.
“Tell me about it,” I grumbled.
He sat up to lean over me. He gave me a long, slow kiss as he removed the comb from my hair. “You didn’t wear the dress I chose,” he teased.
“I asked your opinion, not to choose for me,” I countered. “Besides, I doubt you’d even want another male to look at me in a dress like that.”
“Fair enough,” he conceded playfully. He kissed the hollow behind my ear. “You can model it for me later.”
“Flirt,” I accused.
“Spoilsport,” he retorted.
His phone started ringing in his pocket. I recognized the personalized tone. He only personalized a few. Azriel’s, Cassian’s, Mor’s, Amren’s, and mine.
Heaving another sigh, he extracted the phone from his pocket. “What do you want, Cassian?” There was no bite at all to the words, just resigned fatigue. He listened to words I couldn’t quite make out as he fidgeted with my comb in his other hand. He rolled his eyes. “That can wait. I’ll squeeze it in tomorrow, okay?”
More babbling from Cassian’s end of the call. I thought I caught snatches of Azriel’s voice too.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ll deal with it tomorrow. Bye.” He hung up, but I could still hear them talking as he ended the call. “Can never get one hour of peace with those two,” he muttered, silencing his phone.
He tossed it somewhere behind him and I heard it thunk on the rug.
“For tonight, darling, I have some much more entertaining events scheduled.” He bent over me and pressed another kiss to my lips. I kissed him back enthusiastically, reaching up to brush my fingers into his hair. He relaxed slightly, the weight of his head growing against mine as his neck tension softened.
“Let me silence my phone,” I said.
He waved a hand vaguely over his shoulder. “Done,” he said.
I smiled. “Bath before or after?”
“Hmm… after.”
“Fine with me.”
—
Both of our phones vibrating wildly on the end tables of our bed woke us the next morning. I jolted so hard I bonked my head on Rhys’ wing bone where he’d draped it over me as we slept, as he often did.
I reached out for my phone. There was no caller ID and the combination wasn’t one I recognized. That happened all the time. I answered anyway, assuming it was a matter of state, as usual. “Hello?”
“High Lady?” The voice was small and trembling. Not young, but frightened.
“Yes?”
“There’s something in the harbor.”
Before I could ask for more details, the caller hung up.
Rhys answered his phone much more lazily than I had. “This is Rhys,” he said. He never used his full given name to answer the phone. High Lord Tamlin, his enemy, could be calling and he’d still use Rhys.
He bolted up in bed so abruptly, his wing bone hit me in the back of the head. Thankfully the talon missed me. We both winced at the pain as he mouthed, Sorry, and leapt out of bed to get dressed. I figured I’d probably need to go investigate the harbor so I got up too and found a pair of pants, shirt, and overcoat. Socks and boots followed before I wound my hair into a bun so I wouldn’t have to braid it yet.
Rhys hung up. “Was your call about the harbor too?” he asked.
“Yeah,” I replied. “Though, whoever it was didn’t say much.”
“Same here. Ready?”
I put the same comb I’d been wearing the day before into the top of my bun so I had some sort of ornamentation on. “Ready.”
He grabbed me around the shoulders and winnowed us out of the house.
We reappeared on the docks.
A dark shape was moving around under the surface of the water. I grabbed the railing and peered over it. “Too fluid to be a whale,” I said, noticing a small gathered crowd taking pictures on their phones, some recording videos.
Rhys’ hand settled on top of mine. It’s moving like a serpent, he said down our bond.
My grip on the railing halted. A serpent? Now? Like—like a sea serpent?
He didn’t reply. His dark eyes following where the head’s shape appeared to be.
“Hold onto this for me,” he said, pulling out his phone and holding it out. I took it out of habit, barely noticing his wings extending.
“Wait—Rhys—don’t—!” Too late. He used a powerful launch from his wings to get him over the railing before plunging into the water. As he dropped, I saw his clothes change from the casual dark shirt and pants to his fighting leathers. I wasn’t even sure any of the faeries around us noticed the change. A few of them yelped as his splash sprayed into the air.
I clung to the railing, staring into the depths.
“Rhysand…” I complained. “Stop being so reckless.”
I heard that, he teased.
I meant for you to, I retorted.
Wanna see?
I’m holding your phone. I’m not getting in that water.
You know that’s not what I meant.
I sent the sound of my sigh down the bond and felt his chuckle in return. Fine.
A crack opened in his mental shield. I slid into it, keeping a tether to get me out whenever I wanted if I got freaked out. My eyes glazed over as I started looking through his.
The harbor water was relatively clear, but a bit blurry. I—no, Rhys—flexed his magic to clear up his vision. My—his—hair drifted in front of his eyes a bit.
A large, deep red sea serpent twined around ahead, barely visible through the murk. Large fins were tucked against its sides.
Wings? I asked Rhys.
Yes. For jumping out of the water and snatching sailors from their ships. Among other things, he replied. They usually dwell in the depths. Wonder what it’s doing here.
I didn’t reply as he swam closer. Inside his mind, I could feel him dismiss his wings to reduce drag. Feel the strength in his shoulders as he stroked forward. In his mind, I had no private thoughts, so I knew he felt my anxiety. My fear for his safety. I felt him send a wave of calm through himself. He wasn’t nervous at all—for whatever reason.
The serpent caught sight of him. My breath hitched, but Rhys didn’t even flinch. Gold eyes bored into him, fangs revealed in something of a snarl.
Sorry, love, Rhys thought, I need to speak to it mind to mind, and don’t want you here for it. Too hard to concentrate on two minds at once.
Fine with me, I replied.
He shoved me out of his mind.
I shook my head, blinking, as my consciousness returned to my own body. My hands were so tight on the railing that my knuckles were white.
Something tugged on my tunic. I turned.
A small faerie child with violet skin and long silver hair was standing beside me, looking up at me. “Are you alright, High Lady?” Innocence and genuine concern were in its voice. I knelt to be on the same eye level as the child, my hands resting on the phone in either of my pants pockets.
“Yes. Yes, I’m alright. Just concerned for Rhys.”
The child looked into the harbor. “Mama says the High Lord is very powerful. He’ll be okay.”
I smiled at the child. “Yes. Yes he will.” I reached into the pocket of my tunic, pulling out one of the small candies I kept in there for when children stopped to talk to me—and Rhys usually. I offered it to the child. Everyone in Velaris knew their High Lord and Lady kept candy for children on them, so the child accepted without hesitation. They took off the wax paper wrapper and stuck the candy in their mouth before running back to their parents.
Rhys appeared on the dock behind me, dripping wet. “What’d I miss?” he asked.
I jumped to my feet and whirled around. “You okay?”
“Fine. I convinced it to leave.” He nodded toward the dark shape slithering out of the harbor now. “It was actually lost, I think. I managed to give it directions.”
I chuckled. “Never a boring day in Velaris.”
He joined my chuckle. “Not at all. Cassian’s gonna get a kick—” He swore. “I forgot. Cassian needed my help. You still have my phone?”
As I pulled it out of my pocket, he waved a hand to dry off.
He plunked in Cassian’s combination. “Hey, it’s me. I’m on my way.” He reached out a hand for me. I took it. Dark wind whipped around us as we winnowed away.

For the Lobster of Loki
Summary: Exposure to terrigen mist during a mission-gone-wrong results in you developing some newfound aquatic abilities. Unfortunately, this opens the door for your Avengers teammates to make use of the bane of your existence: fish puns.
Word Count: 2,850
Pairing: Loki x Fem!Reader (first person)
A/N: I can’t believe I actually wrote this.
For those of you wondering what the hell this is: a few weeks ago, I had autocorrect change the word "love" to "lobster" while writing a fic. I found this hilarious and made a joke about it on Tumblr and it kind of turned into a meme on my blog. A couple of my friends told me I needed to turn this into a story and so now I present to you the stupidest thing I have ever spent precious time creating. Also, I usually don't like writing in first person at all, but my go-to third person limited just did not feel right with this nonsense, so I decided to experiment with a different style
Thanks for reading! :)

I was going to murder Tony Stark. I was going to murder all of them, but I was going to murder him first because he was the one who started this nonsense and now it had been going on for two weeks and I was one fucking smirk away from scalping myself.
It all started when I woke up with gills. Waking up with gills is a strange experience. Don’t get me wrong—I realize all things considered, I had it pretty good. I’ve heard about some really horrific transformations since I experienced my own— people who came out of the midst having lost their eyes or their limbs or their minds. There have been people who came out of the mist looking, sounding, and feeling like completely different creatures than when they went in. And there have been people who don’t come out at all.
No, I know damn well I was lucky to come out of the experience with nothing more than a pair of gills stuck in my neck. Still, it was an odd feeling—there was a heightened awareness every time I breathed in, pinprick chills trickling across the newfound ridges as I exhaled. It didn’t feel right, but it didn’t feel wrong either—it was a stiff feeling, a bit like putting on a new pair of shoes for the first time, if that makes sense. I didn’t know what to make of it.
When I woke up, there was about a hundred doctors hovering around me, each with some new sterile terminology to throw my way about my condition, none of which made anything close to sense. I was losing my mind until Bruce showed up. He was able to put it simply: during the mission, I had been exposed to terrigen mist. Instead of killing me, it triggered a transformation in my DNA. I was inhuman.
My inhuman gift, it seemed was the magical blessing from the Black Lagoon. I had gills now—that was the most immediate realization—but there was also the fleshy webbing between my fingers and a weird film over my eyes that I didn’t notice until I tried to rub them with the heel of my palm. All of these wondrously fishy attributes added up to one glorious result: I could swim like a fish.
That was the first thing they tested. As soon as the doctors said I was good to go, SHIELD dumped me in a pool and told me to have fun. And I did. I had never been a fantastic swimmer or anything—the extent of my swimming knowledge came from the lessons my mother had forced me to take as a kindergartener because she was afraid I’d fall into the pond at the park down the street from our house and just die, which … fair. I still hated those classes. But now, now—oh, it was a completely different experience! I cut through that water like a knife, like Michael Phelps who? I was a bullet, shooting back and forth across the pool and just hanging water for as long as I liked.
Because I could breathe underwater now. That’s what gills are for, I guess, although it doesn’t really feel like breathing. Like, I’m not inhaling water while I swim. I’m just … I don’t know, my lungs are still filling with air, my chest is still going up and down, but it’s not through my nose. I don’t know how to explain it, it’s weird. But it’s really fucking awesome.
The team was very supportive of everything. I had only been living at the Tower for a little while, so I had still felt like something of an outsider—I didn’t have powers, and I certainly didn’t have the years long rapport that they had with each other. But they were really cool! Tony designed me a sleek new suit that was able to move well in water while still offering protection, and everyone had the time of their life trying to think up a pithy new code name for my newfound superhero status (we still haven’t quite decided, but I’m leaning towards Torpedo, because isn’t that the coolest thing you’ve ever heard?). Everything was great.
Well, almost everything. There was one thing that was kind of bothering me. Loki hadn’t talked to me since I got hit with the mist. That might sound like a weird thing to get hung up on—oh no, the psychotic extraterrestrial terrorist is ignoring me!— but Loki’s not really like that. He doesn’t really talk about the whole New York thing much, but he’s said enough to make it clear that it’s not something he did of his own volition. If you saw it you’d understand what I meant, the way he tenses up whenever someone brings up the Chitauri and his eyes go all glassy like he’s not really there behind them. You can just tell that whatever had been waiting for him on the other side of that portal, it wasn’t good.
We never talked about New York, but we talked about other things. I’m not really sure how that happened. He does this thing where he acts all annoyed with everyone, like he’s just so over everything, and it irritates everyone so much that they all avoid him like the plague, which of course is what he wants. I guess I just didn’t avoid him when I arrived—I was too busy avoiding all the other superheroes who made me nervous to bother trying with him—and he grew to tolerate my presence.
We started talking about stuff one day, random shit like the purpose of nutritional facts on the side of poptart boxes and the boiling point of water on Earth vs on Asgard because apparently that’s different. And then we’d do things like make fun of the way Steve talks because he’s just so easy to make fun of, and Steve would overhear and tell us to knock it off and that would just make the whole thing funnier and Loki would mimic his voice and say something stupid like “I can feel the righteousness surging!” and Steve would just shake his head and walk away while we laughed like idiots. So yeah. We were friends. Or at least, I thought of him as a friend.
But I was starting to think that maybe he didn’t see me in the same way. We had been partners on the mission where I got hit with the terrigen mist, but he didn’t even come to visit me while I was still in the hospital. And literally everyone came to visit me. Friggin’ Director Fury came to visit me, although I’m pretty sure that was more because he wanted to see what my transformation had entailed and not because he had any particular interest in my wellbeing, but still. And then when I got out, he never said a word to me and everyone else wanted to talk to me so I didn’t say anything to him, but I was worried about him just the same. He was avoiding me too—he wouldn’t ever look at me when I was looking at him, and a lot of times he’d get up and leave the room if I came in. And I didn’t know what was going on.
I probably should’ve asked, but I don’t know … I was afraid, I guess. Like, what if he was really mad at me for something, and just me trying to talk with him would make him upset? So I just didn’t say anything—went through my day pretending everything was normal and ignoring the ache in my chest constantly reminding me that it had been weeks since I got my powers and Loki still hadn’t asked me if I was okay.
But I kind of forgot about all that when Tony started this bullshit. Honestly, I’m surprised he didn’t start it sooner, because it was the type of low hanging fruit that had his name written all over it, but once he started it there was no going back.
He started it one day when we were in the kitchen. I had been making a sandwich (tuna fish, because I’m a cannibal) and Tony was leaning over the counter watching me, and we were just talking about my general fishiness.
“I’m jealous, really,” he was saying. “It’s definitely something that would come in handy. You need to get something underwater, you just dive down—no tanks, no masks, no suits. Very sophisticated.” His eyes lit up, which is never a good thing. “Sofishticated!”
I groaned. “Stop it.”
But Tony was cackling. “Sofishticated! That’s rather gilliant, if I do say so myself.”
“Tony …”
“It doesn’t get any betta than this!”
I waved the bread knife in his face. “I will throw this at you.”
“Alright, alright.” Even as he held his hands up in surrender, he was giggling like a child. “I’ll stop.”
He did not stop.
The next morning, it was fish puns. Everywhere you turned, it was fish puns.
“Can you get that report back to me soon, or do you need more time to mullet over?”
“Just let minnow when you’re ready to try on the new suit.”
“Don’t trout your abilities, we all know you’re fintastic.”
It was only breakfast and I was inches away from crushing my face against the china cabinet.
Natasha raised her eyebrows. “What the hell have I walked into?”
Tony grinned. “It’s fish puns!” he said. “Because, you know—” he gestured vaguely in my general direction. “It’s her brand.”
I moaned, face in my hands. “Just kill me now.”
Clint perked up. “Don’t you mean krill me now?
Laughing, Tony gave him a high five over my head as I writhed in pain. “That’s the spirit.”
I don’t know how he did it, but in the matter of hours Tony had the whole damn tower on the pun train. Natasha was joking about how she was having a whale of a time with this new game. Clint was telling me to clam down and enjoy the fun. Steve asked me if I could get kraken on my o-fish-al business. Even Bruce—Bruce, who always made a point of staying out of Tony’s nonsense—even he was coming up to me with shit like “Cod you come help me with somefin in the lab?”
I glared at him. “Why would you ask me that?”
He hesitated for a moment. “Well …” Bruce inhaled. “Salmon had to.”
I stormed off as Tony roared with laughter from behind the corner.
It was inescapable. Wherever I went there was someone armed with some new fishy atrocity. You’d be surprised at how many fucking fish-related words exist in the English language. JARVIS was so overloaded with the amount of Internet searches for “fish puns” that he started bookmarking lists for easy access. It was an absolute nightmare.
“Don’t play koi, sweetheart,” Tony teased one night while we were waiting for Clint to choose a movie. “We know you lobster it.”
“Lobster?” I scoffed. “That doesn’t even make sense!”
“You just don’t appreciate my ingenui-sea.”
“OH MY—”
“Ignore them, my lady.” Thor smiled gallantly “They are only jesting. You should just relaks.” He grinned, stepping back as he waited for a reaction. We all just blinked at him. He frowned. “You understand, yes? Re-laks? Laks? That’s a fish!”
“Lak is not native to Midgard,” Loki interjected without looking up from the book he was reading. I jumped. He had been so quiet I had forgotten he was in here too. “Their oceans are too warm.”
Thor was surprised. “Truly? But I thought we’ve tasted lak since we’ve been here!”
Loki rolled his eyes, still without looking up. “That’s salmon. It tastes similar, but it’s much smaller.” He turned the page, muttering something that I didn’t quite catch. I was suddenly struck by the fact that it was the closest we had come to talking since before the mist, and that ache came back, gnawing at the edges of my heart. He didn’t look at me. I didn’t say anything.
About a week later, it was my birthday. I don’t really like birthdays in general, but I had really been bracing myself for this one all week because there was no way in hell these morons weren’t going to something infuriatingly stupid to mark the occasion. I guess I didn’t do enough bracing, because when I walked into my bathroom that morning to find a big fat lobster scuttling around in my sink I nearly had a fucking heart attack.
Across the mirror, someone had scrawled a message in red lipstick.
Sending you birthday fishes and lots of lobster!
And that was the moment I decided I was going to murder Tony Stark.
I stormed out into the hallway with no weapon, no plan of action, nothing except the pajamas on my back and the lobster in my hand. Additionally, this was the moment I decided that I hated lobsters more than any other creature on this earth. This thing looked like something from outer space, with its antenna and its bulging eyes and its spindly spider legs—that what it was, an overgrown spider in a slimy red shell. It was disgusting.
I was on my way to Tony’s floor, so engrossed with this half-baked notion of busting down his door and throwing this extraterrestrial arachnid on his face while he snored in bed, that I didn’t even see the Asgardian prince until I walked right into him.
Luckily, Loki grabbed me before I stumbled backwards, because I recoiled so quickly I probably would’ve gone flying. He raised his eyebrows as he took in the sight.
“I assume there’s a reason for the crustacean?” he asked.
There was something ever so slightly condescending about his tone, and I bristled. “They left this thing in my room! I swear, I’ve had it up to here with this fish bullshit—”
He hushed me, pulling the lobster from my grasp. With a wave of his hand, it was gone.
I inhaled. “You didn’t kill it, did you?”
“Oh no. I merely moved it to a more preferable location.” He frowned at the moisture left on his palm, conjuring a handkerchief to wipe it off with. “You know,” he said slowly. “The more visibly upset you allow yourself to become over this, the more encouraged they’ll feel to continue.”
“I know, I know. I just—” I sighed. “It’s so annoying. It’s been going nonstop, for two damn weeks! Puns are the absolute lowest form of humor, it’s just obnoxious.”
Loki only nodded as he turned to make his way down the hall. “I’ll take your word for it.”
And just like that, it was back to ignoring me. I watched his retreating form, the ache in my chest quickly bursting in to flames.
“Why are you avoiding me?” I snapped.
He froze, slowly turning around. “Pardon?”
“Why are you avoiding me?” I repeated. “You won’t talk to me anymore, you barely even look at me— did I do something wrong?” Maybe the fish jokes really had fried my brain, because I was dangerously close to tears. “I don’t get it Loki, I thought we were cool and now you just hate me!”
“I don’t hate you!” he said. “I just—”
“Just what? What is going on with you?”
“You could’ve died!” Loki yelled. I had never heard him speak that loudly before, and guess I was shocked into silence. “With the mist, on the mission. It was only pure chance that you didn’t.”
“I—I don’t understand.”
“I was supposed to cover you. I should’ve realized sooner that they were using terrigen crystals. Instead I miscalculated and you nearly died.” He let out a shaky breath. “I thought you were dead. When I found you, enveloped in that shell …” His voice trailed off and I realized with a start that his eyes were glistening with tears.
“Loki …” My gills tingled on my neck as I reached out for him. Is that what this was all about? Guilt? “Loki, you can’t blame yourself for that. It wasn’t anybody’s fault. And besides, I’m fine now. It all worked out in the end.”
He shook his head. “You don’t understand. You didn’t see yourself. You were gone, I was certain you were gone—”
I griped his hand. “I’m here now though. I’m here and I’m fine. Stop beating yourself up about it. I want to be friends again. I—” For a moment, the words caught in my throat. “I missed you.”
He gulped. “Truly?”
“Of course! Besides, I need your help getting back at these idiots.”
He smirked. “Oh, I’ve already started on that.”
A high-pitched scream broke out across the floor. “How did the fucking lobster get in my shower?” Tony bellowed from his bedroom.
We exploded into laughter.
“Oh,” I wheezed. “That was fucking perfect!”
Loki grinned, squeezing my hand. “Only the best for you, my lobster.”

Fairy Godfather, part 3
Summary: The fairies have asked a monumental favor of Killian: be the surrogate for their babies—all nine of them. He’s been pregnant before, but this? This is a whole other level. What has he gotten himself into? And just how big will he get?
A/N: Another update! Thank you to @sancocnutclub for her continued encouragement...which will be very apparent in part 4 ;)
rated T / 2.4k words / part 1 / part 2 / AO3
Though he had just passed the first trimester mark in this oversized pregnancy, Killian was pleased to find he was not lacking in the energy department. Granted, his first pregnancy had been similar—he’d had the most energy during the second trimester, despite the increasing size of his belly.
But his belly was a fraction of the size back then. Now, at 13 weeks, it was much closer to the size he’d been at 35 weeks with Hope. But he had yet to slow down—as evidenced by his and Emma’s morning activities; he was even on top.
There was no denying his present form was bulky, but he’d been too fatigued at this size with Hope to do much but sleep and eat. That was not a problem now, and both he and Emma were reaping the benefits. Reaching orgasm while she was caressing his bump? It was impossible to describe how amazing that felt.
However, he’d hardly finished when Hope began to cry out from her nursery. As much as he was still feeling good, moving did take a bit more effort than it had. This bump also weighed as much as his last one, and was only going to get heavier; at least it hadn’t dropped yet. But it meant that Emma was still quicker to her feet than he was, and sprang up to retrieve their 13 month old before she tried to climb out of her crib on her own.
Hope finally figured out walking a month or so ago—just in time for her first birthday—and he was well aware of the comical sight he’d made at her party, chasing after her with his protruding stomach. But at least he still could, even if he got winded more quickly than he’d like.
Tink had been snickering at him during one such moment. “Hey,” he chastised and patted the bump. “Your kid is in here, so I’d watch the mocking when it comes to running after mine.”
“That’s fair,” she’d conceded. “Just let me know when you need help, though—I’ll gladly go after the little hellion.”
“I’ll hold you to it.”
They hadn’t needed her help yet, but it was only a matter of time—especially by the sound of tiny but insistent footsteps that were getting faster every day as they ran down the hallway.
“Dada!” her little voice called out as she charged into the room and threw herself against his legs as he sat on the edge of the bed.
“How’s my little cygnet today?” he enthusiastically replied as he bent down to pick her up. He had to open his legs to make room for the bump, but it was still an achievable feat, and Hope giggled as she flew into the air and the curled in as he carefully tucked her into his side.
After a brief cuddle, she squirmed for him to set her down on the mattress, and gave his bump a gentle pat. “Hi babies,” she said (or tried to; some of those sounds were still being worked on). She’d noticed the bump a few weeks ago, once it had really started popping out. They couldn’t tell if she actually understood what was going on—and were glad she was young enough to not have to explain it—but she was at least careful and affectionate.
He just hoped that continued as she grew steadier on her feet—and he grew larger and less so.
Hope tucked herself back into Killian’s side and Emma sat down on the other. “This is a pretty perfect morning,” she sighed as she laid her head in his bare shoulder. “Do I really have to go into work?”
“I’m of the same opinion—but wasn’t Tiger Lily coming for training today?” She was the fairy who’d offered to take over his deputy duties once he no longer could—and he had a hunch she'd be an acceptable long-term hire.
“Yeah,” she complained. “Just wish it could wait another day.”
“Or,” he suggested, “we get through today and then we can spend tomorrow in a similar manner.”
“I like the way you think,” she replied, then pulled him in for a kiss.
He set Hope down on the bed, where she proceeded to tackle the pillows, and went about the process of getting dressed. His sleep pants still fit, although they were reaching the point where they were almost too snug on his hips, which had definitely widened more than last time.
Thankfully, his maternity jeans were as stretchy as ever, and he hadn’t yet exceeded their capacity; the elastic panel hugged his belly comfortably as he slipped them on.
Emma had bought him a collection of soft, short-sleeved t-shirts a size larger than he typically wore, and one of those slipped on easily, but the bump still stood prominently under navy cotton. Hopefully, they made these in several larger sizes.
They stopped at Granny’s before heading to their respective workplaces for the day, and Killian consumed a larger stack of pancakes than he’d like to admit; good thing Belle took his measurements yesterday. At least there was also a generous side of fresh fruit.
When he and Hope arrived at the library, he was only semi-surprised to see Blue there; she seemed to be showing up once a month or so to check in, but today had another goal.
“Would you be okay with getting an ultrasound?” she asked.
That was shocking. “Sure,” he said, “but will it be okay for them?” he countered, rubbing his belly. Inside, they seemed to be fluttering nervously.
“If it’s fine for a human baby, it should be for them. It’s just—I see all these thorough notes and comparisons, and I’m curious what that would reveal.”
“Whale says he has an opening,” Belle added, phone in hand. “Shall we?”
They did, and headed out en masse to make the short walk to the hospital. At least, it should have been short, but Hope insisted on walking on her own and Killian’s pace wasn’t as fast as it normally was.
Whale met them in the waiting room when they arrived, though, an eager look on his face. “Wondered if I'd see you this time around,” he greeted. “I’ve gotta say—I’m pretty curious about this.”
“Aren’t we all,” Killian answered dryly, bracing his hook against his lower back.
“Come on; let’s take a peek in there,” Whale beckoned, and led them to an exam room.
Killian passed Hope off to Blue and began the process of climbing up on the exam table; again—he was doing fine on the energy front, but a large bump was a large bump, and it not only was an obstacle to his mobility, but he was carrying around some weight he hadn’t been 13 weeks ago (and in more places than just the bump).
But he managed to get up there and lifted up his shirt without prompting; he knew the drill. During his seemingly arduous climb, Whale had been looking over Belle’s notes from both pregnancies. “Damn,” he commented. “I think your notes are more detailed than my charts.”
“That’s not reassuring,” Killian called out; Whale just chuckled and moved to ready the ultrasound machine while Belle rolled her eyes and readied her pen.
Killian had forgotten how cold the gel was, but he got over it quickly as Whale began to move the probe over his (thankfully stretch mark-free) stomach.
“Well I’ve never seen that before,” Whale said after a bit, and everyone focused on the screen.
“I thought those were only in black and white?” Belle asked.
“They are,” Whale confirmed.
And yet, as the tiny images of multiple babies appeared on the screen, each one was showing up in a different color—the color of the orbs they started as. Tink’s green stood out front and center, but as Whale moved the probe over the dome that was Killian’s abdomen, all the other colors showed up, except—
“Where’s mine?” Blue asked, understandably worried.
“Hmm,” Whale hummed, investigating. “One, two,” he started counting, finding 8 that were easily visible. “But it looks like…” He pressed harder on Killian’s belly, to the point of discomfort, but he didn’t complain—not when Blue looked so worried.
“Yeah, there’s definitely one hiding in there,” Whale said. “I just can’t zero in. There’s some color bleeding through, though…”
And in between a pink-hued and navy-hued fetus, a bit of bright blue was visible. Blue sighed in relief. “Yeah, she’s just being stubborn,” Whale assured her. “You can probably blame it on Hook.”
“Hey!” he protested, but Belle’s snicker suggested she agreed.
“Anyways—from a development standpoint, yeah, I’d put you right at 13 weeks, although probably half the size. Were it a normal pregnancy, I’d guess you’d only go to 30 weeks or so, for safety—but I’m guessing that won’t be the case here?”
“No,” Blue said. “He’ll go all the way to full term.”
Whale whistled. “Thank goodness they’re small then.”
Several copies of the sonogram were printed off—as mysteriously colorful as they were on screen—with Killian taking one, another going in Belle’s notebook, and the rest going with Blue. There was some discussion of doing another ultrasound at the second trimester, but it was ultimately deemed unnecessary.
Whale bid them adieu but they lingered in the room, if only because it took Killian a bit to clean off the gel (he hated the way it got caught in the bit of hair on his stomach). Belle was wrangling the kids, but Blue was staring at the pictures, almost in awe.
“You were worried, weren’t you?” Killian asked softly. “That she wasn’t there.”
“Yes,” Blue admitted. “It’s rare, but sometimes, they don’t all take. And I’ve just—I’ve waited so long for this.”
“I understand.” It had taken him and Emma quite some time to conceive Hope, and obviously they required assistance.
“I guess I’ll just have to be patient,” she sighed.
“Aye,” he agreed. “But—” He placed his hand on the top of his bump and furrowed his brow in concentration. “I’m almost positive she’s kicking my bladder at the moment.”
It drew the polite chuckle he was going for, but also meant he needed to excuse himself. Blue also took that moment to take her leave, but not without an emphatic thank-you.
He had to admit, as he shuffled off to the bathroom—he’d definitely been resentful of this arrangement to an extent. But seeing Blue’s genuine emotions there at the prospect of parenthood made that feeling dissipate.
He was sure he’d have a mountain of complaints by the end of this, but being able to grant so many others the joys he’d found as a parent—that would be worth it.
------------------------------------------------------
At 16 weeks, he hit the same measurements he had when he was at full term with Hope (literally those of the day before he’d gone into labor). But the bump still sat high on his frame. “I wonder if whatever magic is preventing stretch marks is also holding it aloft,” he quipped as he traced the curve of his belly.
“It’s entirely possible,” Belle concurred. “Look at the difference.” In addition to measured data, she also had photographic documentation of his various milestones in both pregnancies; comparing the picture she’d just taken on her phone to the one from right before Hope entered the world, it was plain to see the similarities in how much they extended in front of him, but the difference in where it sat on his body.
“We’ll see how long it lasts, though.”
In answer to his theory, he got another few weeks before things began to sit lower, though his stomach continued it’s outward expansion—a couple centimeters every week. But by his 17th week, he finally started feeling the pull of gravity and had to dig out the belly band he’d relied on the last month or so with Hope.
But he soon noticed another issue. While he remembered what it was like to not be able to see his feet, and had gotten used to the obstacle about his midsection, he wasn’t prepared for it to stick out even more.
Case in point: one morning during his 18th week, when he was attempting to surprise Emma with breakfast (usually she rose first, but a flurry of activity in his belly had woken him early). However, he was a bit farther from the stove than he was used to, as well as the cabinets, and he kept knocking into the chairs around the table; Hope was watching him from her own high chair in amusement, far more interested in his slapstick endeavor than her cereal.
“What’s going on?” Emma’s sleepy voice asked after he cursed at nearly burning his belly on the oven.
“Nothing,” he huffed, rubbing the spot on his bump that was just a bit too warm. “Just a failed attempt at treating my amazing wife.”
She glanced around, then smiled. “You were trying to make me breakfast but then your belly got in the way?”
“Aye,” he sighed.
She walked over to him and pulled him into a hug—from the side, since she already couldn’t get close enough from the front—and turned his face towards her to kiss him. “You’re too sweet,” she said, tucking herself into his side. “And you treated me plenty last night,” she added in a low voice; he swallowed at the memory of their shared moment—probably one of the last times he’d be able to make love on top for a while, unless they got creative with the logistics, but dammit, he did it, and it was amazing.
“I can finish this up; take a seat, okay?”
“I should be able to do this, though,” he complained.
“And you will—in 5 months or so. But I told you I’d support you with this, so let me.”
He sighed again, but complied, and ignored the creak of his chair as he sat down (angled away from the table—he was also up a size in shirts, but his jeans were holding on…for now). “How did the gods see fit to bless this poor bastard with such an amazing woman?” he asked, watching the blush rise on her cheeks.
“The same way they did for this lost girl,” she countered, then put a (heaping) plate in front of him.
“I love you so much, Swan—thank you.”
She placed another kiss on his lips. “I love you too—always.”
Even if this wasn’t an ideal situation, he knew that he was blessed to have Emma at his side; he wouldn’t be able to get through this without her.

Stuck Thinking About You-Dante/Reader
TheLastCrusader Requested: Dante or Vergil gets immobilized in some embarrassing or inconvenient way during a job and then (Y/N) pays them company until they can be freed. How about they have a crush on (Y/N) and they don't know it is returned until the end?
Vergil’s Part: Coming Soon.
Read it on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/28187496
Warnings: Fluff, Romantic Comedy, Taking Care of The Twins, Vulnerability, Breaking the Fourth Wall, Characters Call Out The Writer for Her Lazy Writing
Dante was the Legendary Devil Hunter, a tried and true hunter with the might of hundreds of men. And here he was, paralyzed by a venomous demon. During a hunt, it had a lucky shot and hit him with a dart. It would have killed a normal man three times over, causing the victim to lose muscle function and die. Since Dante was not a normal man, his body would metabolize the poison in due time. It’s just too bad he was stuck in his current form, arms to his side and stiff. He was lucky to be able to talk anyway.
Nero had laughed at his predicament and dragged him back to the van by the boots, throwing him onto the spare seat like a sack of potatoes. His brother had smugly walked alongside his son, entertained by how Dante complained about his now immobilized situation.
“Laugh it up. When I can move again, I’ll be kicking your asses.” Dante threatened, face down on the cushion with his sword strapped to his back. He sounded muffled and Nero laughed at him again.
“Wait until (Y/N) found out you got shot in the butt by a demon.” Nero jeered. Dante groaned.
Oh God forbid you found out, his crush. The gorgeous and funny (Y/N). He’d be a laughingstock.
You had been working on the Devil May Cry paperwork when the red devil was carried in looking like a cardboard cut out of himself. The red devil was incredibly displeased and had a sour look on his face.
Nero and Vergil dropped him onto a couch, dusting themselves off and high-fiving.
“What happened to Dante?” You ask, seeing how Dante was unnaturally still.
“My brother was unluckily poisoned. The toxins shall wear off soon, although he will be stuck like this for the meanwhile.”
You see Dante attempt to move with his grunts and groans, yet to no avail.
“Yeah, he’s gonna have to wait for it to wear off. You should’ve seen him, he gets jabbed and he just drops like a dead body!” Nero wiped a tear of laughter off his face.
“Anyways, I gotta go back to Fortuna. Call me when he’s back to normal.” Vergil nodded as his son left the door.
He turned his gaze to you.
“I am going to retire to my room. Please let me know when he can move again.” He said as he exited the first floor.
You put your hands on your hips seeing the devil still face down on the couch.
“Um..Dante?”
“Yeah?” He said, slightly muted by the cushion.
“Are you alright?”
“Can’t move. Stuck.”
“..Do you want some help?”
“Nah, I’m alright.”
“Well, are you sure?”
“Yeah, don’t worry about me. I’m fine.”
There was a pause. You could hear Dante trying to breathe with the leather of the couch right up on his nose.
“Would you like to be face up?”
Dante stopped for a moment.
“Yes.” You grinned, getting up from your seat to help out the red devil. Rolling up the sleeves of your sweater, you began by pulling on his side at the innermost of the sofa. You grunted as you put all your might on him.
He was literally built like a brick house, and he sure as hell weighed like one. You broke a sweat getting him to be perpendicular to the couch before gravity helped out and you tipped him over. He fell back on the couch with a resounding thump.
“Thanks (Y/N).” He flashed his charming grin, a bit of a struggle as his face muscles were slightly numb.
You smiled at him. You saw how his veins were slightly darker, and he was quite pale. His body must be working overtime to detox itself.
“Do you want anything while you’re trapped like this?” He made an effort to try to shrug.
“I’m good.” Dante was not good. He was freaking out. You were used to touching him, punching him when he said a joke too cheesy, and those grazing touches he’d freak out internally over. You had such nice hands. His side where you pulled him up had tingled.
You made your way back to the desk, Dante’s eyes on your rear.
You went back to work, typing up reports, and examining payments from clients. Music played from your headphones, leaving Dante in silence.
The sounds of you typing, scratching down notes on a notebook, and humming lull him to sleep. Maybe when he wakes up, he’ll be up and running again.
You were half an hour into your work when you heard snores. Looking up, you see that the younger Sparda twin was fast asleep, probably sleeping off the toxins. An endeared smile crept up your face, seeing how at peace he was.
Dante was an attractive guy, he was nice and funny. He seemed to always want to hang out with you and make you laugh. What a nice half-demon who was your boss.
The veins around his neck seemed to pulse, forcing the blood to withdraw the demonic toxins within it.
You admired the white-haired male, before going back to the papers.
Dante woke up a few hours later.
He tried to stretch, only to find his limbs were still stuck to his sides.
“Ah shit.” He mumbled, yawning. His jaw popped in several places and he tried turning his head to see you.
You answered the phone tucked by your ear as you rapidly typed out more reports.
Once you had hung up the phone, you saw that the sleeping man had awakened.
“Hey, Dante. You’re up. How are you feeling?” Dante sighed.
“Still can’t move.” You frowned. Even with his metabolism?
“Aw, that sucks.”
“Is that all my paperwork?” Dante asked, seeing the mountain of papers on the table. You slapped the yellowed papers.
“This bad boy can fit so many missing payments.” You joked, quoting a car commercial you saw. Dante rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, let’s all make fun of Dante.” He said.
You went back to check a few things. Dante peered at the clock. Crap, he always forgets to fix that clock. It’s been 4 o’clock for three months now.
Dante coughed. He hadn’t had a sip of anything for hours now and napping always made him wake up with a desert-dry throat. He also wanted to rub his eyes but once again, can’t move.
There was a knock on the door. You grabbed your wallet and got to the door. An amazing smell hit Dante’s nose.
You came back into his line of sight when you came back with a plastic bag
“You hungry?” You asked, opening the box of pizza you had ordered. You hummed with approval when you saw no olives.
“Meh, not really.”
Just when Dante wanted to be low-key, his stomach made the loudest noise. It was like a damn whale call. Mind you, he was starving after his nap. He flushed with embarrassment but tried to play it off.
You laughed. You made your way over to Dante.
“It’s fine, I got enough for the two of us.” Setting the pizza box on the ground, you sat next to his still paralyzed form.
“Oh man, you totally didn’t have to-” His stomach made a louder noise at the amplified smell of baked goods.
You laughed at his expression.
“It’s not like I can just move and take a slice right now.” He groaned. His eyes widened when you held up a fork of sliced pizza. You absolute angel.
“I know.” You winked.
“Now say ah..” You teased. He smirked, opening his mouth to be fed.
Dante felt the warm cheesy culinary creation hit his tastebuds. He reveled in the lack of olives, something he always got on his slices whenever he ordered.
You helped yourself to your own slices between feeding Dante.
He swallowed wrong, and coughed. He had already hid his dry throat from you, not wanting to be needy. He continued coughing like a madman. A straw hit his lip and he simply sipped it, doing whatever he could to counter his fit.
The familiar sweetness of cola soothed him and he let out a small burp.
“My bad.” He smiled as you laughed. His eyes darted to the can of soda you put back on the floor. Holy shit. You were drinking out of that. You gave him your straw. You were cool sharing drinks with him. That was an indirect kiss. Dante was ready to implode. Before you could notice his shock, he quickly made a diversion.
“Where did you order this? It’s a lot better than the place I order at.” He asked after another forkful. You shrugged.
“It was this new place that recently opened up. It’s close where I live. Thought I’d spice things up a bit and pick a new joint.”
“Have you been there before?”
You shook your head no.
“Yeah, I haven’t. This was my first time ordering there.” Maybe next time Dante could take you there.
“Feeling bold aren’t we?” You asked smugly at his mumbled sentence. Shit. He did not mean to say that out loud.
“Uh. Yeah. I am.” He sputtered. You chuckled at the devil’s sudden bashfulnes.
Dante wished he knew when to shut up. This was one of the times he wished he could.
“Yeah. I like you a lot. You’re really nice to me, you’re real good looking too. This is totally not how I wanted to ask you out but here I am. This is really awkward for me. You can totally say no. I’m not going to be mad. I’m also your boss so that might be weird-”
“Tell you what-” You quickly gave him another piece of pizza.
“Once you can move again, I’ll take you on that offer.” You winked. Dante almost choked again.
“I like you too, if you haven’t noticed.” You added, looking away for a moment.
He laughed. You angel.
Once the slices were cleared and the drink finished, you cleaned up. Dante saw through the window a completely dark night.
“Whoa. It’s super late. Are you sure you want to go out that late?” Dante asked, genuinely worried.
You shrugged.
“I mean, it’s not too bad. I don’t live that far-”
“I can teleport you home.” Vergil called from the stairs. The older twin came down with his book in hand.
“Oh Vergil. Nice to see you again. I saved you a couple slices of pizza.” You pointed to the box that lied on Dante’s desk.
“No need. Although the gesture was very kind of you.” Vergil quickly took out the Yamato, slashing through dimensions.
“Well this is oddly convenient plot-wise. Totally lazy writing. The writer definitely gave up with the conclusion. This is outrageously well-timed.” You said, hands on your hips. Vergil gave you a look.
“What?”
“What.”
“Anyways. I’ll see you soon. Call me when you’re back to normal.” You say to Dante. He winks at you and makes a click noise with his mouth. He’d do the finger guns too but again, he can’t freaking move.
You left promptly, waving at Dante and thanking Vergil.
The older twin turns around to see his shameless brother.
“So, how long were you upstairs waiting for her to leave?”
“Too long. I’m surprised she took overtime just to take care of your sorry self.”
“I’m the one with a hot date, Mr. I Got Laid Once.”
His brother scowled.
“If it were not for the fact that you are not a fair match in your current condition, I would have slaughtered you by now.” The Yamato was pointed in his direction and Dante blew a raspberry at him.
“Whatever.”
“I’m going to bed. You can stay on the couch, you dolt.” Vergil snipped, going back up the stairs. The lights were shut off, leaving Dante in darkness.
Dante smirked, closing his eyes. He can’t wait to wake up tomorrow and plan out a date with you.
