Okay, but that is a LASER on one of Sua's most vital body parts, the neck, that is so seriously unnerving. The endurance of that girl is fucking nuts especially considering she may have had NOTHING to make the pain easier to bear or just the bare minimum. cant stop thinking about the 5-star promotions and how they treated a full album like it was an ep with no b-side promos and the s-class music show promos lasted barely two weeks.. and how they didn’t even let the album marinate at all and just announced the jpn ep and the dome tour like damn why are we in such a hurry
#and they were so excited about this cb even when they were promoting maxident#it’s like they just brushed the album under the carpet and immediately jumper to the next thing#jumped*#like i just feel like we should’ve gotten more out of this album#also i really dont understand the timing of this jpn ep like since they already put out the sound earlier this year#it’s probably gonna be like this in the future too#they’ll release the second album that was mentioned in step out after that jpn tour is done#and they’ll give it the same treatment and announce a world tour#we had it so good before with them having showcases and promoting bsides for their releases 💔

Honestly, I always find it weird how many instances I've seen of cis people wanting a token trans friend who, in reality, is self-loathing enough to hate their own existance and see cisness as the ideal. It's almost like a power-trip fantasy to find a trans person who despises either the way they are treated or their existance just to prove to themself that the only existance that's meaningful is a cis one.
And you can tell which cis person wants to meet token trans people if you don't give them the satisfaction of being the self-despising trans person, or even if you aren't completely self-hating.

Some olympian athletes (young, probably first olympic, often usamericans) complain like a spoiled brat about the Olympic Village, and how it's not a 5 stars hotel, as if that's not how the athletes have ALWAYS been treated at the Games, because it's not 20 teams of 40 players and their staffs that are being housed (to compare it to world championships for football or rugby), but hundred of athletes (more than 2000 athletes officially) and their staffs from hundred of countries. And the hotels are for tourists, for spectators, or do you not want people to not come to the games? These games are extremely expensive, let's not make them more because you are a lil baby that need staff to make your bed. The cardboard beds exist to not create more waste than what the games already produce (imagine buying more than 2000 beds to only be used for a month and than discarded... Every 2 years...) THEY ARE ATHLETES WHO HAVE RUN WITH NO SHOES, AND YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT BUYING TOILET PAPER?! And I have seen so many comments saying awful shit about how 3rd world countries shouldn't participate so the lil usamericans can have a better treatment, and that's unacceptable. The games are about unity between the nations, the goal is not to win, it's to participate. To be together. It is always beautiful to see these countries being able to send their athletes to compete. They deserve their place here as much as any 1st world countries' athletes, they have work so hard to be here. Their whole fucking country gave money sometimes to help them have the equipment for the games. You're so spoiled you cannot even comprehend how privileged you are. "This is cheating to make France wins!" I literally know a French olympian. She has the same age as me, she is the daughter of an ex-colleague of my mother, so I saw her grow up and train to be an olympian. I know how French athletes are treated, and it's not good. What you are getting rn at the Olympic is better than what they get all year long. Damn, one of our best athletes who got multiple olympic medals in his career RAN NAKED IN THE STREET to find a sponsor so he could continue to be an athlete, because he had no money.
I am SO mad because, as a French, I know the REAL issues with these games. But will they talk about them? NO. It's only about their ass and being like "I deserve better because I'm an Olympian, I'm better than everyone!". DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY STUDENTS WERE KICKED OUT TO HOUSE COPS FOR THIS EVENT? They have to ask for a pass and it can be refused. They were asked to not leave their house as much as possible. personally, im feeling (Very Cautiously) optimistic about the neopets buyout? netdragon shut down jumpstart, so it would have died otherwise. i guess that’s better* than it just dying.
on crypto: i’m glad they seem to be dismantling/repurposing any work done on neopets metaverse. dominic law, the guy who bought neopets, was the head of neopets metaverse at neopets before he bought it out, hes like an investment guy as far as i can tell(?), and the pc gaming article about the buyout mentions he was talking about how neopets is perfect for web3 gaming on twitter within the past few months. obviously that’s a bad look. however, looking at his linkedin profile, his background doesnt seem super tech specific to me, and from what i can tell the metaverse/nft/crypto bubble is bursting anyways. with the announcement they’re shelving any nft projects for now, i’m hopeful they truly dont plan to pursue any more in the future.
i get the impression from the faq that they are genuinely interested in pumping money into the website itself, moreso than netdragon/jumpstart were. i’m not really against them developing more apps or w/e if they’re genuinely restoring the site and creating content for it as well.
i may eat my foot on this though, only time will tell

I love the idea that avatars of the spider are super unassuming and innocent in the way that they’re perceived. Like….something about the juxtaposition of spiders creating an immediate feeling of danger in most people compared to the people that represent them being perfectly adept at hiding that aspect of themselves.

lol @ the fact that my relationship with my father has to just. absorb and accept the fact that (1) he’ll do things like initially assert he didn’t spank me, when i’m in fact quite sure both my parents did, and that (2) when pressed on this point, he’ll retreat into ‘well, you were really impossible to deal with sometimes!’ which is of course obliquely if not explicitly framing those spankings as justified…
like. holy shit. i mean it’s all so textbook—they didn’t treat my sister and me as brutally as their parents treated them, so what they did must be fine by comparison, right?—but unfortunately the predictability of it doesn't actually resolve the feelings for me!
#but just like. this came up bc we were discussing surgical histories#and like. one time when i was a kid i slipped and got a tear that needed stitches#only bc the damage was to an Unmentionable Area i got put under general anesthesia for it‚ which wasn’t my choice#because basically doctors are terrified to look you in the eyeball and touch yr unmentionables at the same time‚ even as an adult#which like. today if a gynecologist tried that i'd be like. what is this paper curtain accomplishing. can we just not‚ thanks.#but at the time obviously i accepted the treatment i was told to accept#and he was like ‘well then why didn’t you pipe up and say it was your body and your call!’ mostly jocularly but still#and like. (a) i was like ten‚ my dude‚ but also (b) you did not raise a kid who thought they had bodily autonomy like that!!#bc they literally didn’t—you hit me when you felt like it and i had no recourse!#anyway. it’s like. fine now‚ i got big enough to resist and it stopped‚ but like. fundamental betrayal and you gotta just eat it and smile!#formative

mmhhgm 2 AM thinking about HRT…………..perhaps my urgency is influenced by the belief that my transness only becomes acceptable after certain parameters are met and that it is in some way inappropriate to present myself as a trans person while being pretransition . something radical about the exposure of the whole process instead of being one of those instagram transes who pop into existence 7 years on T and post top surgery
#i know this is a recent discourse bc of like the attacks on access to transition care#but idk i can’t help but think there is something very radical about#demanding equal treatment and putting the onus on others and not urself#okay yes you can be accepting and respectful of this trans woman who#looks to you like what a woman should look like#but would you have treated her the same 5 years before when she just started E? what about before that if she confided in you#obviously trans medical care is under attack and it is important to protect trans peoples access to it#but so much of the conversation around that seems to revolve around ppl who have access already#and appeals to their acceptability and gender conformity and often capitulation to cis binary standards#what about all the pretransition people being thrown under the bus because#they’re facing barriers to access conflicts or unsafe circumstances#it’s troubling to me to see people who have been on HRT for years claim the only reason some claim to be trans but aren’t on hormones#must just be cowardice in the same breath as they fearfully discuss new barriers to access being put up every day#those things r related actually and if u really want to support access to care u need to acknowledge that#it’s necessary to continue to protect BECAUSE some people don’t have it yet#not to continually try to present those people as some kind of enemy because them not already having it means they’re the enemy of#trans medical care#i suppose my main issue with it is the way pretransition people are really screwed by that kind of talk#just supports the idea that we don’t deserve it that we should have barriers that we don’t belong#as if those are not the very things we are seeking to and need to alleviate#myposts

Ughhhh, looks like I'll need to do 10 sessions with a phsychiatrist before i go ahead with the exams that allow me to get a proper autism diagnosis 😑 i hope i don't get another fucking nutjob this time
#i had two physciatrists through my life and both were awful lol#one i started meeting to look for help with my addiction#but since it wasn't an 'usual' addiction she just started treating me like a child and it eventually forced me to quit the treatment#because she wouldn't take my problem seriously even if it was threatening my life at that point#the other was a lady that told me i should put herbs under my pillows to help with my insomnia and tried to do a chakra treatment#without asking me if i was ok with#what do you call it? alternative treatments?#whatever you call stuff that isn't backed by science#so i'm not looking forward to try out a 3rd one#OH and also the lady with the herbs also tried to imply that my health problems were being either caused or exacerbated by my asexuality#so like#yay#fun stuff

i'm so fucking tired man i really am. barely did half the work on this paper i needed to do today and i just feel so fucking useless

Dani and ‘Berto had a strong dynamic through New Mutants that X-Force Annual #3 makes a case for reviving. They’re both gregarious, assertive, but pragmatic and compassionate leaders and where they clash is their similarities. Both of them together can accent their worst traits even though they’re the best of the New Mutants (Dani’s authoritarianism and temper, ‘Berto’s arrogance and immaturity). Have them both choose to be co-leaders on a team, force them to both go undercover in the same organization, whatever it is, someone needs to do just what Nicieza does and place the focus solely on their relationship so that tension can be brought to a max
#kelsey liveblogs comics#i don't necessarily think that a romance between them would be well-done or could even work but that would be another way to do it#through Dani's treatment of the (not Berto but assumed to be) Reignfire you can see that she loves him as a younger brother.#someone to be shaped and guided; someone strong and talented who still must be under her control#while he views her as an ally but not necessarily a commander; in the classic New Mutants lineup Berto is happy to accept Dani's leadership#mostly because of their history and the age difference between them. but now that Sunspot is an interplanetary master manipulator#that puts them much closer to the equal footing that could strengthen their relationship or break it in this way
