Some of y’all act like basic manners, general human decency, and kindness to others is SO MUCH emotional labor. I don’t like that shit.

Yesterday, the very first place that was “home” to me in LA, Los Angeles Equestrian Center - laid off all their undocumented workers in fear of ICE. The remaining workers couldn’t handle the workload and went on strike. There are 960 stalls at LAEC, show barn included. There is a show this weekend. Busy working horse owners panicked to care for horses who would be missing breakfast, a wakeup call for some that are accustomed to full service care and may not realize how much these workers do for their animal family.

Before you scorch me for “politics”- at the end of the day I am a trade unionist who serves my union in my free time and all I want to share PUBLICLY is working class solidarity, not political candidates or parties. I get along with everyone despite our differences- don’t take it personally. I would be remiss not to say something as these workers took good care of Jeepers through some of the hardest times in my life when I couldn’t be there.

They were my support and backbone and I need to do the same for them. Mucking and feeding is a service you pay for, but you cannot buy the care of people who watch your horses for colic like guardian angels, and washed their hands bleached their boots diligently between each stall during a virus outbreak just to keep your horses safe.
