JAKSJKAJAJA kinda nervous this is my first post on tumbrl so ahahjaus im so in love with aventurine i cant stop thinking about him lately💔 so some of these might sound delusional😭(but i like to think that i understood his character right so.. 😌) ALSO!! i doubt anyone is gonna see this but let me know if you'd like some other character from star rail<3 (or genshin, zzz etc, i have the games i like on my description profile, but you can just ask and if i know the character ill try my best to answer😌)

"You're screwed up and brilliant, look like a million dollar man.. so why is my heart broke?" - this song reminds me sm of himmm, the whole idea of a man who is so fascinating but so distant and cold at the same time, like the kind of person you can watch but never get too close

"You've got the world, but baby, at what price?" - i think this fits well with everything he had to endure only to work for the ipc.. you know, like, the idea of an illusion of freedom, he has money and all, but.. is he really, truly, free?:(

Big Spender - Peggy Lee

"The minute you walked in the joint, I could see you were a man of distinction.. A real big spender. Good lookin', so refined.." - ok i really have no explanation for this one, i think it speaks for itself😭

Luxurious - Gwen Stefani

"Working so hard every night and day and now we get the pay back, trying so hard, saving up the paper, now we get to lay back" - this one i feel it more, like, in terms of vibes, the whole sensual vibe, the song having the whole theme of working for money but it still has a rich vibe to it, you know?

Money Power Glory - Lana Del Rey

"I want money, power and glory, I want money and all your power, all your glory" - you'll see a lot of Lana, but I really think he fits with some songs. as for the lyrics, the song itself doesn't fit with his lore totally, but i like the chorus, i think it fits with WHY he likes the idea of having money, back then when he was a slave.. he meant nothing to the world. now that he has it, he is considered powerful.. glorious. i like to think that he understands this mentality, how much, unfortunately, money controls the world

"My life, it comprises of losses and wins and fails and falls" - i think this really works with his luck, how he always emerges victorious even after so many hardships he has to go through

Beneath the Mask - Lyn

"I'm a shapeshifter at Poe's masquerade, hiding both face and mind, all free for you to draw" - it feels a little silly to put a persona song on a star rail post😭 but i feel like beneath the mask works so well with characters that don't show their true self(haha did you get that) to the world, which works so much with the flirty, confident persona(im so funny) aventurine puts on, the "mask" he so created to conceal his feelings

Summertime Sadness - Lana Del Rey

"Think I'll miss you forever.. Like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky" - this line doesnt really work with him😭 but it plays in my mind once in a while while thinking of him<3 especially in the (!! spoiler for the 2.1 quest? !! tho i think everyone finished it already) quest where everyone thought he was dead

Numb Little Bug - Em Beihold

"Do you ever get a little bit tired of life? Like you're not really happy, but you don't wanna die? Like you're hanging by a thread, but you gotta survive 'cause you gotta survive.. Like your body's in the room, but you're not really there? Like you have empathy inside, but you don't really care?Like you're fresh out of love, but it's been in the air.. Am I past repair?" - i actually found this song on an edit on tiktok with him and i think it fits so insanely good with him. i recently saw(again, spoilers for 2.2 quest?😭) the messages he sent to the trailblazer after argenti rescued him and i noticed he told the trailblazer something like "but i survived, and im happy about that". i cant tell if he was being sincere or not, but id like to think that he indeed was happy to get the chance to keep going; i like to imagine that aventurine has an interesting view on death, he doesn't fear it and he probably wished more than once he could just vanish, but i think he accepted that he still has a long journey ahead of him

The Death of a Bachelor - Panic! At The Disco

"I'm walking the long road, watching the sky fall" "I'm cutting my mind off, feels like my heart is going to burst. Alone at a table for two, and I just wanna be served.." - the first line fits so well with whatever happened with him and acheron and that whole black nihility hole; as for the song itself? the lyrics dont exactly fit, but the whole vibe is so him<3

Ratiorine headcanons that is totally not projecting

Aventurine can’t have anything around his neck because he freaks out and it feels like chains (including tight shirt collars and stuff)

And Ratio is the only one who actually manages to pick up up on it and that Aventurine trusts enough to move stuff away from his neck and pull his shirt down if need be

Ratio is always there to help Aventurine stabilise himself and help him feel safe

I want to write so badly a scene where Aventurine and Ratio play chess. And I want Aventurine to win. You know why? Because people forget he's in the STRATEGIC Investment Department. Along with his batshit crazy luck this man does THINK and he does it so damn well(I can and have yapped about this). So when you pair strategy of a professional and insane luck, no wonder he can win at any card game and such, but chess has no luck. I am yet to decide Ratio's reaction.

I'm not saying the doctor is dumber(mans has phds) but i feel like it'd be fun.

Aventurine meeting himself from a parallel universe but they’re just a lil bit… different…

On the surface, he’s the same, gone through the same things too. But once he trusts someone and the usual suave facade is down, he’s a bit hyperactive and a different type of unhinged. Not the normal “I love risking my life” Aventurine unhinged. It’s the backing you into a corner, ominously looming over you “have you ever had the desire to tear into someone’s flesh? To feel someone’s bones crack between your jaws?” type of unhinged

OG Aventurine (our Aventurine aka my husband /j) hides behind flair, flair, and calculated charm. Parallel!Aventurine uses charm like a knife. He’s more tactile, more impulsive—laughing when things bleed, tilting his head when people cry. Not out of malice, but curiosity.

OG!Aventurine is unnerved, because he recognizes that darkness. He’s just better at pretending it isn’t there.

They inevitably play a game of chance—cards, roulette, something with stakes. But it’s less about the win and more about observation. They use the game as a way to pick at each other’s armor.

Parallel!Aventurine drops barbed comments like, “I remember how your sister screamed. Do you still pretend you don’t?” Just to see if it lands.

OG!Aventurine keeps smiling… but his left hand stays hidden behind his back the entire time.

They both smile constantly, but the meaning behind it is worlds apart.

OG's is disarming, sly, performative.

Parallel!Aventurine's smile is manic, hungry, twitching at the corners like a predator’s.

Watching his counterpart flash that grin while calmly discussing human anatomy in disturbingly sensual detail gives OG!Aventurine a cold feeling he doesn’t have a name for.

(He later decides it might be recognition.)

Parallel!Aventurine isn’t cruel—not exactly. He’s affectionate. Too affectionate. He touches often, leans too close, says things like, “I missed you, you know. You're the only one who understands.”

There’s a longing in him that’s real… but warped. It feels like being wanted by something starving.

Parallel!Aventurine voices the thoughts OG!Aventurine shoves down—the guilt, the rage, the obscene hunger for control masked as luck.

“We’re not afraid of dying. We’re afraid of being powerless again. Admit it.”

It’s not just uncomfortable—it’s invasive. Because it’s the first time OG!Aventurine can’t manipulate the person across from him.

The tension is electric. It's not quite flirtation, not quite hostility. They circle each other like rivals, brothers, lovers, enemies—every line blurred.

One moment: calm, sharp banter.

Next moment: Parallel!Aventurine has him backed against a wall, whispering about the sound of a spine cracking under pressure like he’s describing a fine wine.

OG!Aventurine, cornered, murmurs, “You're me at my worst, aren’t you?”

His counterpart only replies, “No, darling. I’m you when no one’s watching.”

If they ever work together? It’s terrifying. They don’t even need to speak. One lays the bait, the other tears into the prey. A perfect storm of chaos wrapped in charisma.

But OG!Aventurine never quite trusts him. How can he? You can’t play poker with someone who always bets the entire house—and doesn’t care if it burns down.

Parallel!Aventurine will say something profound in a sudden moment of clarity, like:

“Do you ever wonder what we would’ve become if someone just hugged us… instead of branding us like cattle?”

Then he'll immediately pivot to, “Anyway, I drowned a man in wine last week. Beautiful gurgle.”

It leaves Aventurine disoriented. Not because it’s shocking—but because it’s familiar.

Deep down, Aventurine fears this version of himself is not an alternate future.

He’s a possibility—a version he could become if he stops pretending to care, if he stops drawing the line at manipulation and lets the hunger win.

That terrifies him more than death.

Because if that mask ever slips completely? He’s not sure he could put it back on.

Everyone on Twitter playfully dragging Aventurine for his crop top and track pants fit, and while I agree that this is hilarious and should be meme'd into oblivion, I also can't help but think that the Aventurine fandom as a whole should definitely embrace turning "He's kind of tacky, wouldn't know a subtle outfit unless it was picked by Jade, and wears bizarrely out-of-touch fits on his days off just because he personally thinks they look cool" into an endearing fanon character trait.

Because like, canonically? It makes perfect sense.

As a child, his family didn't have the luxury of giving him a wide variety of clothes in different styles or fabrics. He wore what he could get. Then, we're only ever shown adult Kakavasha wearing rags until joining the IPC.

We know from his character stories that he was kept extremely out of the loop on world news and mainstream media as a slave and literally wouldn't know anything about clothing other than seeing it on other people.

From the time he was a child, wearing whatever his family could pull together, to the time he became an adult prisoner wearing literal scraps, there was never a need or even reasonable opportunity for him to learn about fashion or the social pressures of "dressing to fit in."

The first thing he's told to do as a member of the Stonehearts is "Go pick out new clothes," and the next time we see him, he's wearing the most peacock-esque outfit possible. When Jade told him to pick out his clothes, he literally went in completely blind with no lessons on how to appropriately dress for any adult occasion at all.

While I do think that one of the first things Aventurine would have done as a new Stoneheart is research how to establish a certain "character" for himself and how to dress to give a specific impression, I also think that Aventurine would delight in finally, finally having the power to present himself exactly as he chooses--and that would likely be very strongly informed by an entire child- and young-adulthood growing up without a single social pressure to "dress normal."

Given that he never had someone to teach him how to dress in any modern intergalactic style in his formative years, I think that it makes perfect sense for his "fashion" sense to be extremely unique to him, with little outside influence except for being strongly based on what he knows best: the luxuries the Avgin people could gather from the deserts of Sigonia-IV.

Ratio accuses him of being "flashy," but Aventurine likely loads up all his personally-picked outfits with turquoise jewels, fur trim, and gold metal accents because that's what he grew up perceiving as status symbols and signs of prosperity. Of course he's flashy! Why would he not want to wear furs and jewels now that he has them?! What do you mean wearing six gold bangles is overkill with a t-shirt? No such thing as overkill, come on!

Topaz dropping the Star Rail equivalent of "You look like what would happen if Fashion Week was themed on the yakuza and the Roaring 20s at the exact same time" every other month.

"Well, I think it looks great!"

tl;dr: Aventurine can definitely do his research and blend his outfits into any scenario if needed, but when left to his own devices, he absolutely wears the most over-the-top and/or bizarrely unmodern and "I couldn't care less what is currently trending" fits because no one ever taught him fashion sense when he was growing up, he's finally got the autonomy to dress himself in whatever he thinks looks best, and he's still a little bit drunk on the opportunity to bath in the natural luxuries he longed for but could never have as a child.

Just sayin'.
