so im sure everyones fully well aware of the magic 8 ball site fob is using to promote a contest to win some tickets to see them in nashville. the little 8ball widget theyve got in browser is also modeled on the physical 8ball that they had in the vip merch packages for tourdust's first leg, which is cool! but of particular note is the way that, to fill out the contest form, you have to pick your favorite fall out boy songs. and the sheer breadth of what is allowed is...interesting? it's not cohesive by any means, but it is really wild the selection of songs they have here because not all of them are fob songs. in fact, quite a few of them aren't.
i went directly to the source code and got a full list of all possible songs that you could input (which you can check for yourself by right-clicking and selecting "view source"). i'm going to list them here for archival purposes, with a few notes/explanations cause some of these are WILD.
there are 187 songs total listed.
bolded songs indicate songs that are demos or never received an official release
italicized songs are songs by other bands
underlined songs indicate songs that are covers
songs with an asterisk beside them (*) indicate they are from patrick's solo catalogue. two asterisks (**) are for pete's.
additional commentary by me will be [in brackets]
20 Dollar Nose Bleed 27 7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen) 7-9 Legendary A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me" A Nice Myth [one of the earliest fall out boy demos, found on their first ep, and only the casette version at that] Allie* Alone Together Alpha Dog America's Suitehearts American Beauty/American Psycho (song) American Made Art of Keeping Up Disappearances As Long as I Know I'm Getting Paid* Austin, We Have a Problem Baby Annihilation Bad Side of 25* Bang the Doldrums Beat It Big Hype* Bishops Knife Trick Bob Dylan Bounce [this is a song that came out on then-Decaydance labelmates The Cab's debut record, Whisper War, which patrick produced. he has writing credit and also is credited with background vocals (and also shows up in the music video)] Caffeine Cold Calm Before the Storm Centuries Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends Champion Check Your Phone** Chicago is So Two Years Ago Church City in a Garden Coast (It's Gonna Get Better)* Coffee's for Closers Cryptozoology* Cute Girls* Cyanide** [this is a nothing, nowhere song that pete did some spoken word parts and backing vocals on] Dance Miserable* Dance, Dance Dead on Arrival Dear Future Self (Hands Up) Death Valley Deep Blue Love* [song patrick did for the indie short film "spell"] Demigods Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes Don't You Know Who I Think I Am? Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save the Scene and Stop Going to Shows) Ghostbusters (I'm Not Afraid) Golden Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy Greed* Grenade Jumper Grow Up and Be Kids [this song is on The Cab's sophomore album Symphony Soldier, which release after they left decaydance. nonetheless, pete does have some writing credits on it. give it a listen and you'll hear for yourself in the first 10 seconds or so] Growing Up Hand Crushed by a Mallet [this is a remix of the 100gecs song of the same name; patrick did some vocals for it] Hand of God Have I Got a Gift for You* [song patrick did for the horror movie black friday] Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet Heartbreak Feels So Good Heaven's Gate Heaven, Iowa Hold Me Like a Grudge Hold Me Tight or Don't Homesick at Space Camp Honorable Mention Hot to the Touch, Cold on the Inside Hum Hallelujah I Am My Own Muse I Don't Care
I Got Nothing, But You Got Something [this is the one that really perplexes me. there's no evidence of this song actually existing, other than an unverified genius post and an article on a single fandom wiki. it is inexplicably listed here despite its very existence being questionable at best.]
I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You) I've Been Waiting [this is technically a lil peep song with fall out boy as a feature] I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None on My Fingers Immortals Irresistible It's Hard to Say 'I Do', When I Don't It's Not a Side Effect of the Cocaine, I Am Thinking It Must Be Love Jet Pack Blues Just One Yesterday Lake Effect Kid (song) Lake Shore Drive [this is a song patrick covered on the piano at wrigley, first night of tourdust] Love from the Other Side Love Will Tear Us Apart Love, Selfish Love* Love, Sex, Death Lullabye Mad at Nothing* Miss Missing You Moving Pictures My Heart Is the Worst Kind of Weapon My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) New Dreams [this is a bonus track on pax am days, a naked rayguns cover] Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner Novocaine Of All the Gin Joints in All the World One of Those Nights [another song from the cab's whisper war. this one has patrick doing vocals very prominently] Open Happiness [this was a huge collaborative piece done for a coca cola commercial. patrick was on it along with big names like cee lo green, janelle monae, and labelmates travie mccoy and brendon urie] Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued Parker Lewis Can't Lose (But I'm Gonna Give It My Best Shot) Past Life [llamania ep] Pavlove People Never Done a Good Thing* Porcelain* Pretty in Punk Rat a Tat Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over Roxanne Run Dry (X Heart X Fingers)* San Diego [this is a blink-182 song that patrick did some writing for] Saturday Saturday Night Again* Save Rock and Roll (song) Sending Postcards from a Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here) She's My Winona Short, Fast, and Loud Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers So Good Right Now So Much (For) Stardust (song) So Sick [this is a song patrick has exclusively covered live, so it's a fascinating inclusion] Sober [another blink-182 song patrick did some writing for] Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year Star 67 Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea Sugar, We're Goin Down Summer Days (song) [this is a martin garrix song patrick lent some vocals to] Sunshine Riptide Super Fade Switchblades and Infidelity Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today The "I" In Lie* The (After) Life of the Party The (Shipped) Gold Standard The Carpal Tunnel of Love The Kids Aren't Alright The Kintsugi Kid (Ten Years) The Last of the Real Ones The Mighty Fall The Music or the Misery The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes The Phoenix The Pink Seashell The Pros and Cons of Breathing The Take Over, the Breaks Over The World's Not Waiting (For Five Tired Boys in a Broken Down Van) This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race This City* Thnks fr th Mmrs (song) [for some reason the site specifies song here, despite that not being necessary. the only other times this distinction is relevant is when songs share a title with their albums, i.e. save rock and roll] Thriller Tiffany Blews Twin Skeleton's (Hotel in NYC) Uma Thurman Untitled 1 (Colorado Song) Untitled 2 (Jakus Song) [both of these are recently released tttyg era demos] W.A.M.S. We Didn't Start the Fire We Don’t Take Hits, We Write Them [this is a song that famously was only ever performed live. we don't have a studio recording or even a demo, as only live versions exist] We Were Doomed from the Start (The King is Dead) West Coast Smoker What a Catch, Donnie What a Time To Be Alive What's This? When I Made You Cry* Where Did the Party Go Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) Wrong Side of Paradise [llamania ep] XO You're Crashing, But You're No Wave Young and Menace Young Volcanoes Yule Shoot Your Eye Out
in conclusion i have no idea who compiled this list. it doesn't include every song patrick and pete have ever touched (notice the lack of gym class heroes, cobra starship, and hush sound discography) but it has a really weird selection of songs. i mean, blink songs patrick wrote on?? its bizarre.
anyway do you think if we mass request swing me by the rafters they'll have to do it
#fall out boy#tourdust#*making poasts#trying to format this conventionally BROKE THE POST so i did my best#i burned my grilt cheese typing all this up pls appreciate it#the weird break in the middle is cause otherwise it wouldnt post. mea culpa.

@2flowerz NOW I CAN POST THEM LOL HERE'S ED TO START WITH
PERVY OLD VAMPIRE IS AN ABSOLUTE GOOBER. . .he's also very very tired. But he has a very nice reaper taking care of him and a friendly dog that wants him to go outside more, so he has people who love and care for him even though he's. . .a little troublesome haha.
also I changed the format from previous posts and added the specific times and seasons and such for each dialogue! this should help lessen some confusion about how to get them.
Hello: (the first time the game is opened after that character is set as home screen NPC. Only happens once per day, unless the character is switched out and back.)
"Ah, there you are. I've a favor to ask of you— come to my room and I'll explain."
You've Got Mail: (whenever there's something in the inbox, usually Arena rewards)
"Oh? It appears we have some letters. Alas, my eyesight is not what it used to be. Read them out to me, would you?"
well maybe if you didn't stare at your tablet all day. . . .
Default: (requires no affinity, has no time constraints)
"I have much to learn about the human world... Rui is teaching me a lot, but I cannot seem to divorce myself of careless blunders."
y'know, it's good he's trying to learn anyway. 400 years old is never too late.
"What did I do before Darkwick? I eked out a humble existence in Eastern Europe. Hm? The most powerful vampire? No, those are just rumors. "
didn't you confirm it yourself in the main story though--also if he was living in eastern europe for the past 400-ish years i wonder if he saw lyca when he was young, even if in passing? then again eastern europe isn't exactly small.
"I was taken by a sudden whim to travel abroad. I had heard good things about Japan so I came over to play, but alas, I was captured."
so he went to japan just to have a nice time for a while but the Institute decided to keep him trapped in Darkwick. . .and then they didn't listen to any warnings or concerns he had. . .no wonder he doesn't give a shit what's going on around here, why would he? They abducted him while he was on vacation--and for what?
"I have no interest in harming humans. After all, they die so quickly. They should enjoy their short lives while they can."
"(cough cough) Oh, it's you... I'm feeling worse than usual today. I don't suppose you could carry me to bed?"
Affinity 1: (between 5am and 11am)
"(yawn) Good morning... What time is it? ...Still that early? Wake me up again at midday, would you?"
honestly Ed? Mood.
Affinity 2: (between 11am and 4pm)
"If this is about a mission, I can't help you, I'm afraid. I leave such day-to-day duties to Rui, so I suggest you ask him instead."
Affinity 3: (between 4pm and 8pm)
"I'm more or less confined to this house most days, for various reasons. I'm on my best behavior. But I'll do what I can to support you from the sidelines."
y'know, he's offering to help a little even at Affinity 3 and that counts for something in my book.
Affinity 4: (between 8pm and 5am)
"My favorite channel should be posting a new video at any moment... Sorry, but could we continue this tomorrow?"
you have not yet reached the stage of friendliness where you're more important than a youtube video lmao
Affinity 5: (between 8pm and 5am)
"I don't suppose you know where Rui is? How troubling... My YouTube video has stopped playing..."
well at this hour i'd check either the bar or his room???
Affinity 6: (between 4pm and 8pm)
"Oh, it hurts... I cannot seem to shake this ache in the place Rui touched me earlier... I think I'll rest a while."
so it seems like either his limbs pop off/part of him breaks open when Rui touches him, or he suffers a great deal of pain for an extended period of time, maybe his body actively fighting extremely rapid necrosis? Rui did say that he basically insta-kills anyone who isn't super strong, so Ed being in excruciating pain instead of dying or losing a limb now and then makes sense.
Affinity 7: (between 11am and 4pm)
"I can't survive much sunlight. Without my parasol, I can barely go outside... (sigh) It really is quite punishing..."
Affinity 8: (between 4pm and 8pm)
"Sounds like Lyca's having fun, from all that yapping. I think it's good for him to develop some temporary bonds with humans at this time in his life."
Affinity 9: (between 8pm and 5am)
"I felt the urge to go stargazing, so I went to a hill nearby, but Towa was there already and he chased me away."
TOWA STOP BEING MEAN HE actually he probably would have bothered you and if he smells like a corpse to you that would have been annoying even if he didn't talk to you BUT STILL DON'T BE MEAN.
Affinity 10: (between 10pm and midnight)
"You ought to be getting ready for bed. Me? Oh, I'll turn in soon... Just one more YouTube video."
Affinity 11: (between 5am and 11am)
"Are you going for a walk? Take care not to spend too long in the garden. Humans are rather susceptible to the miasma there."
WE NEVER DID LEARN ABOUT THE MIASMA. WHAT'S UP WITH THE MIASMA WHY'S THE AIR IN OBSCUARY FUNKY.
Affinity 12: (between 11am and 4pm)
"Do you realize that human society is controlled by a shady cabal of elites? There are many videos about it on YouTube."
I AM ONCE AGAIN ASKING FOR HIS LAPTOP TO BE TAKEN AWAY OR TIME ON IT RESTRICTED. . .HE'S INTO CONSPIRACY THEORY YOUTUBERS HE'S GONE TOO FAR DOWN THE RABBITHOLE
Affinity 13: (between 4pm and 8pm)
"The ghouls are rioting again? Ah ha ha ha, they certainly are full of energy. If you'll excuse me, I was in the middle of a YouTube video."
he simply does NOT GIVE A FUCK lmao the ghouls could be dying out there and he'd probably shrug it off. Maybe keep an eye on things with his sixth sense or have some bats watch. Maybe that's part of why so many ghouls dislike him? he doesn't have any concerns for their plights and problems?
Affinity 14: (between 5am and 11am)
"How strange... I can't find my other sock. I could have sworn I put it here... Have you seen it?"
Affinity 15: (between 5am and 11am)
"Lyca made a mess again? Ah ha ha ha. Try not to judge him too harshly—he's not human, after all."
i think even for non-humans there's some cleanliness to be strived for. . .even pigs are pretty clean animals from what I hear. . . .
Affinity 16: (between 11am and 4pm)
"Rui? Is my lunch ready yet? ...Oh, it's you. You wouldn't happen to be feeling heartsore, would you?"
he's asking if you're sad because he feeds off of tears more than blood. . . . .he wanted to see if you'd cry for him. . . . . . .wait how does Rui usually go about doing this!? Does he cry every day for him???
Affinity 17: (between 10pm and midnight)
"Rui has his tavern work at this hour. He made sure I had everything I needed before he left, though."
ed's all cozy in bed with a nice bottle of tears and his fully charged tablet, all the dirty laundry's off his floor and everything--and now you're here! everything is perfect.
Affinity 18: (between 8pm and 5am)
"Has night fallen already? Do keep in mind that my vitality returns at this hour. You really should be more careful."
i'm kinda getting Taiga vibes here where as his affinity goes up he kind of clearly wants to eat you more, except where Taiga kinda tried to keep away from doing it until Affinity 24 where he snaps and ties you down and starts hurting you, Ed just starts warning you 'you're in danger being around me right now' lol. When he tells you to be careful he makes the sadist face, so he is telling you to be careful around him specifically. . . .
Affinity 19: (between 10pm and midnight)
"You can't sleep? Come, close your eyes. I'll hold you in my arms until you surrender yourself to the land of slumber."
isn't Ed's skin cold. . .I feel like it may be hard to sleep like that for most people lol then again maybe he'd be perfect for temperature regulation?
Affinity 20: (between 5am and 11am)
"Ah, thank you for coming so early. I slept even worse than usual last night... The cleaning can wait. Let me rest my head on your lap, would you?"
'the cleaning can wait' huh. . .is this another Jin situation where he's started to expect you to clean up his room all the time lmao I MEAN RUI ONLY CLEANS IT ONCE A MONTH SO A LITTLE SUPPLEMENTARY CLEANING WOULDN'T HURT. . . .
Affinity 21: (between 11am and 4pm)
"How are you finding Obscuary? Anomalies live quite differently to humans, so you're adapting to it remarkably well... Perhaps you're predisposed?"
'hey i know you're probably scared about becoming an anomaly that will harm your loved ones and all but you may already be showing signs so you should just stop worrying and join us!' also do they really live so differently. . .so far the main difference is cleanliness lmao
Affinity 22: (between 4pm and 8pm)
"My, where did the time go? Talking to you is just so relaxing. Why? Perhaps it's because I know I could feast upon you at any moment."
in Japanese he says something like "The sense of security of being able to strike at any moment"--he's saying he could bite you and you're so comfortable with him you wouldn't even put up a fight before he could do it. He's making his 'sadist' face, but I think he means it in a 'you're relaxed around me, and it makes me feel comfortable to' way. . . .or not. He could just mean that he appreciates you as easy prey 8D
Affinity 23: (between 8pm and 5am)
"Really. You became embroiled in another petty human dispute? How absurd you humans are. Come here."
he feels so bad for you and always getting involved in some shit. . .you know you wouldn't have to do any of this if you abandoned your humanity and just became an anomaly?
Affinity 24: (between 10pm and midnight)
"So, you've come sneaking into my room in the middle of the night? You really are a wicked girl. What were you hoping for? Go on, say it."
Do you want him to feed off of you? Or do you want him to feast upon you? Or were you just that starved for his company? I feel like he's willing to put aside his tablet for you at this point, especially if you're coming into his window late at night for a little tryst.
Affinity 25(max): (no time constraints)
"Being with you brings up old, old memories... Perhaps it's because you remind me a little of her."
well he is hundreds of years old, so of course he had lovers in the past. . .I wonder if she was also mortal, and if he refuses to see humans and anomalies as compatible because of heartbreak. Or maybe he doesn't get heartbroken like some humans do, and it's just nostalgia. But for someone who struggles to remember things sometimes to have old memories stirred up, I think that's a good thing. He must feel quite old at this point, but having someone around who reminds him of being even a little younger must be nice, even if he doesn't think it will last. . .then again maybe that's part of why he seems like he encourages you to become an anomaly in his character stories. Because he'll get to have you around for longer.
Spring: (March-May) (between 5am and 11am)
"The plants in our garden become rather lively in the spring. See? There's a little cannibalism going on over there."
(between 11am and 4pm)
"My favorite channels have been updating more frequently than usual of late. I suppose humans really do experience spring fever."
(between 4pm and 8pm)
"(yawn) I look more tired than usual? Must be the spring weather... Goodnight."
(between 8pm and 5am)
"Cherry blossoms are fascinating organisms. Born carrying the stench of death and falling all too soon... Just like humans, really."
i don't think most humans smell like death(unless we're referencing the poem about sakura trees having corpses beneath them to make the petals pink again) but go off i guess--also it makes it seem like he wishes humans lived longer? funny thing for a guy who thinks humans aren't compatible to say.
Summer: (June-August) (between 5am and 11am)
"Obscuary is lovely in summer. It's so dark and cool, with a lovely miasma breeze. I've no desire to step outside its confines."
honestly living in eternal night during the summer doesn't sound bad aside from all the bugs. but the tentacle plant in the garden probably keeps most of them away, so. . .obscuary in summer sounds lovely.
(between 11am and 4pm)
"How the sun mocks me... Vampires across the nation are advised to avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary."
(between 4pm and 8pm)
"It was so hot this morning that Rui was walking around after his shower in just a towel. A sight for sore eyes, I must say."
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH HE IS BISEXUAL. in Japanese he says that Rui was walking around soaking wet and that he's incredibly handsome but doesn't mention the towel--so Rui may have been wet and bare naked walking around Obscuary. . . .
(between 8pm and 5am)
"My air-conditioner? I believe I have it set to 64 degrees. Hm? You're cold? Humans truly are such fragile creatures."
that is almost 18 degrees celcius for the non-americans! it's not that cold imo but it's definitely a little chillier than most people like their personal space.
Autumn: (September-November) (between 5am and 11am)
"Humans take extra delight in their meals during the harvest season, do they? Interesting. Perhaps I'll follow suit."
lap up your tears nice and slow and sensual--
(between 11am and 4pm)
"The stamina and physical strength of a vampire is dozens of times that of a human. We don't need to work ou— (cough) (wheeze)"
YOU GOOD BUDDY YOU STARTED COUGHING WITHOUT EVEN MOVING i mean i get it i have asthma but still--
(between 4pm and 8pm)
"Ah, the curtain of night closes. Now that the days are becoming shorter, my physical and mental health have much improved."
does that mean you don't need help getting dressed for a while--
(between 8pm and 5am)
"How beautiful the moon looks tonight. Its light is such a comfort to us non-humans. You look rather lovely bathed in it too."
Winter: (December-February) (between 5am and 11am)
"(sigh) Even in the dead of winter, Lyca is so full of energy in the mornings... Just try to imagine waking to him barking in your ear."
that explains why you lock him out of your room lmaoooo
(between 11am and 4pm)
"What do you think of my dressing gown? Rui made it for me. It's surprisingly warm."
MOM RUI STRIKES AGAIN MAKING HIS BOY COZY CLOTHES FOR THE WINTER
(between 4pm and 8pm)
"(cough cough) I only took a few steps outside, yet I felt as though my heart froze over... It's best not to leave one's room on days like this."
(between 8pm and 5am)
"They say that on cold nights like this, humans long for the warmth of another. Well? Shall I provide it for you?"
DO YOU POSSESS THE WARMTH OF ANOTHER SIR I RECALL YOUR SKIN BEING DESCRIBED AS COLD
His birthday: (November 10th)
"Having you celebrate my birthday makes all these long years of life worth it. How old am I? A gentleman doesn't tell."
given your estimate was 'idk 400 i stopped counting around 300' i think it's less you won't tell and more you can't tell lmaoooo
Your birthday:
"It's your birthday, is it? I'll have to give you a present. What do you want? Go on, tell me."
New Years: (January 1st)
"Happy New Year. I heard it's a tradition in this country to impart small monetary gifts. Here, for you."
OTOSHIDAMA GET!!!!
Valentine's Day: (February 14th)
"My, is this for me? I'm touched. I don't usually partake of human food, but I suppose I'll make an exception."
it's about the symbolism! it's the principle of the thing, even if the chocolate tastes bland to your vampire taste buds!
White Day: (March 14th)
"It seems that today those who received chocolates on Valentine's Day are supposed to return the favor. What a conscientious country this is..."
yeah but what'd you get them tho--
April Fool's Day: (April 1st)
"Oh, I'm burning up... I'm not long for this world... Won't you grant me one last request? ...No need to make that face. I'm joking, of course."
Halloween: (October 31st)
"Trick or treat. I'm a real vampire, you know. Give me your blood, or I'll play a trick on you."
probably the only time he's directly stated wanting to drink your blood lol
Christmas: (December 25th)
"Merry Christmas. Rather amusing for a vampire to celebrate a holy day, don't you think? Let's fill tonight with magic and wonder."
Idle: (about 20 seconds without interacting with the game) (below 13 affinity)
"I'm going to lie down a while. If you need something, ask Rui."
(13 affinity and above)
"Hello? Oh good, there you are. It would be troublesome for me if you were to disappear. Let me know next time you decide to wander off."
WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'D BE TROUBLESOME. I guess it's because you clean up after him and help him and stuff. . .and at higher affinities maybe he feeds off of your tears and/or blood. . . .
Absent: (logging in for the first time in 2 or more days?)
"Well, hello there. It's been a while. Come over here—I've been looking forward to your return."
OUR SLOPPY LIL VAMPIRE BOY. Flirts, drinks tears, minds his own business, and is on his best behavior despite that he was abducted by Darkwick. They should be thankful he's not angrier, considering he's apparently strong enough to LEVEL A BUILDING ON HIS OWN. As his affinity goes up he seems to be more comfortable around you, although that comes with the concern that he expresses less human thoughts more openly. . .which isn't a bad thing, imo. He should be allowed to be an anomaly. He's not harming or preying on you, just saying he could and that he's dangerous. But he also just seems to like physical affection and flirting and having you do chores for him so he can be lazy. . . .
I love him lol he's stinky

☆ the emortia flower. (jiyan angst)
a/n : i tried looking for a flower similar to the emortia, hopefully this white hyacinth is close enough hehe (*´∇`*) i haven’t written in a while so sorry if this isn’t that good
“that’s such a silly idea! we’re both dying together of old age in the future, so there would be no need for me to plant a flower here for you!”
oh how it felt like yesterday when you were innocently naive and optimistic.
regret and sorrow seeps into every bone of your body. why would you say that? there was so much more you wanted—no, needed—to say to him. even if they were as little and mundane as where you should go for your next date, or something as big and important as your future together. you should’ve told him everything on your mind. there was never a need to wait.
because now, you don’t even have the chance to wait to tell him anything.
as you were planting the seed into the soil, you felt your tears you were previously unaware of fall into the ground and soak the earth. you could feel your lips and fingers trembling as you covered the seed with soil, kneeling there with puffy eyes. you were sure you’ve been crying for a long time, as you could feel your eyes and face burn painfully. yet… nothing was more painful than losing him.
“…of course. how silly of me.” jiyan had given you a slight nod, his brows slightly furrowed as he smiles fondly at you. though at that time, it was clear he had wanted to say more.
perhaps you both were the same when it came to that. always trying to wait for the perfect opportunity to speak your mind.
you wished both of you were braver, more confident when it came to voicing your thoughts.
maybe then, him slipping through your fingers would’ve hurt less.
you remembered it as if it had just happened a minute ago.
his limp body in your arms as you sobbed, hugging him tightly. “why would you take the hit for me?! you’re so stupid!” you cried, sadness and frustration filling your voice as you look at him. you couldn’t understand how he was still smiling gently at you, even though he was in so much pain.
“i’m sorry for being so stupid, then. i’m afraid… i won’t be able to make it up to you.” jiyan coughs, the blood from his open wound dripping onto your hands. he weakly puts his hand over yours, softly caressing your knuckles as he looks at you with tired eyes.
“no! you can’t die here! just… just wait! i’ll bring you to a medic!” your eyes widen at his implications, panic feeling your voice. …but unfortunately for the both of you, you were currently both on a mission where it just the two of you. the city was quite far from here. you knew it was likely you wouldn’t make it back in time, but you still naively held onto that hope.
with that, the life began draining from his eyes as he whispered his last words to you. “…i… love you. may we… meet.. again… in the.. after life.” immediately, you felt even more tears flow down your cheeks as you sobbed into his lifeless body.
life was cruel.
you should’ve seen it coming. after all, he was a general. positions like that usually came with a hefty price. you wished you had spent more time with him. you wished you had never lashed out at him over things you now viewed as insignificant. you wished you helped him more. you wished you had told him “i love you” more.
you could only smile sadly at the seed. he had told you of its name and meaning once, and you couldn’t forget about it since.
emortia, the flower he bred himself. the word meant both departure and return. it was a resilient flower, similar to how he was. but of course, all flowers wither in the end. all you could do now is make sure to take good care of this flower you planted in his honor.

I can’t stop thinking about Steve and Eddies daughter getting her first period.
Hawkins high biology was a very censored affair in 1985 and Steve’s momma was never around long enough for her to catch her breath and realise that she and her abomination of an husband never even had the birds and the bees talk with him. Steve's series of dates he'd gained the king title for were never with him long enough to figure out that he was absouletly and completely cluless as how exactly the female reproduction system worked.
Eddie's mom died long before Eddie was old enough to understand this stuff, and Wayne just assumed Eddie wouldn’t ever have any use of this knowledge when he came out as gay to him before he had the chance to say anything. So, he just reminded him that he needed to be safe and didn’t bother going into female anatomy and how it all works.
The two boys just never questioned it, wasn't curious about it at all. Steve honestly thought Robin had some sort of a stomach condition that meant she was in pain for a while occassionaly.
So, one faithful midnight in early 2006, Robin gets a call from a frantic Eddie and a Steve who has gone into I-have-a-nail-bat-and-I-am-not-afraid-to-use-it mode.
She is confused, curious and slighltly worried but when she finally understands that nobody explained anything ever to her two idiots, she laughs a little.
Steve's reaction to Robin laughing at this very real emergency - RoBIn she might be dying in the other room. stop laughing- is less than calm and only whispered because he doesn't want his daughter to think she is dying.
The only reason they hadn't yet called the emergency room is because she would abosluetly not let them because of how embarrased she was.
Eddie, at this point, takes over the reciever because there's no way Steve is calm enough to be able to listen to instructions.
Robin tells Eddie all about cramps and pads and tampons and choclate and painkillers and icecream and movies and hot waterbottles and ricesocks. At some point Eddie gestures to Steve to get a notepad and a pen and actually takes notes.
When she is finally finished talking, Eddie and Steve sit their daughter down. After reassuring her that she is going to be absolutley fine with tears of relief and a bit of pride - Steve our litte girl's a lady now- and many hugs, they give her the option to listen to her aunt robin explain it all, or them trying their best to explain.
She wisely chooses her aunt Robin. So, she starts from scratch, and in much more detail, lays it all out. She stars smiling towards the end, assured that its going to be all fine.
Eddie spends the entire night researching it all on the internet. He learns everything, and with his notes from his conversation with Robin finally starts understanding how funny last nights -wow he did not realise the sun come up- conversation must've been to Robin.
They go shopping together after breakfast and get all the necessities. The shopkeeper smiles and says "shes lucky to have you as her dads" they just smile and reply "we're lucky to have her"

For @bird-lord1993 and @vastwinterskies, although it’s not exactly what either of them proposed, I still think they’ll like it: below the cut, Archie Kennedy and the Eighth Doctor
(I strongly suspect I am about the one millionth person to write roughly this exact fic, but hey, one million cakes!)
Horatio had been here a moment ago but now it was Bush. Why was Bush here? He should be free to go—he must be—unless it hadn’t worked—
“Don’t need to wait,” Archie tried to say. “Horatio will wait with me.” But Horatio wasn’t here. They’d taken him away to the court-martial. No, the court-martial was over. And Horatio had waited with him, they’d talked, he’d known that Horatio knew, and he’d heroically refrained from Hamlet and then—
Horatio must have left after that.
Bush leaned over him and said, “Don’t try to talk,” and it wasn’t Bush at all. The face could have been Bush’s brother, but older, and he spoke differently, and it wasn’t him.
“Thought you had sisters,” he mumbled, only this wasn’t Bush, it was Bush’s brother, presumably a different Bush then, only Bush didn’t have a brother…
He was still feverish, it seemed. Natural enough in a dying man.
He had still to finish dying.
It was turning out to be more work than he had expected.
***
Next time he surfaced to awareness, he had enough presence of mind to realize he wasn’t in the prison infirmary. He could not make any sense of where he was. There was dim light, but—he lifted his head with some difficulty—he couldn’t see a lantern or a window, and it reflected off oddly smooth surfaces—stone? glass? steel?—in uncanny ways. Small colored lights glowed nearer him like unnatural little stars, and there was a buzzing noise, in his head he thought at first, but it seemed in fact to be coming from above him. Also a monotone chirping. The total effect was unpleasantly like a fit coming on and he was glad to close his eyes again.
***
The third time he woke up, the man who wasn’t Bush was there again, doing something across the room. Archie tried to sit up, and then realized he had tried to sit up, and the muscles of his belly and side had moved and nearly obeyed. They were weak and painful still, but—was his wound healing?
He tried to assemble his questions in a useful order. “Who are you?” floated to the top first.
“I’m the Doctor,” he said, and added “Just the Doctor” in the manner of someone who had often received further questions. Archie didn’t care, at least not at the moment; if he wanted to be secretive, let him.
The Doctor was coming over to Archie’s bedside now with what looked like a glass of water. But before he could offer any care Archie said what he had to say: “I’m sorry that you’ve wasted your time.”
He closed his eyes. He could hear the Doctor’s quick, anxious movements, quite characteristic of a certain type of surgeon. “Don’t say that,” said the Doctor. “I have better treatments here than your surgeon had. You’re going to live.”
“It’s not worth it, just to be hanged.” He took another breath—full, deep, almost unhindered, damn this doctor, he was going to live—and added, “The only kindness you can do me now is—decent obscurity.”
He could feel the Doctor hovering over him, so that he more or less had to open his eyes. He was met with bright unnerving blue eyes, so like Bush’s but so different in expression. Uncanny, that was the word.
“I’m sorry to have acted without your permission,” he said, “but you were really in no state to give it. They thought you had died, you know that?”
“Horatio wouldn’t have left till I had.”
“Your tall friend?”
“You’ve seen him?” Archie interrupted. “Is he well?”
“He still hadn’t left when I came and took you away. I was afraid he never would, you know, and I’d miss my chance with you. I can roll back time here, under certain constraints, but I can’t work miracles.” He looked very worn as he said this.
“What have you done?”
“Saved your life to start with. And—I’ve taken the liberty of departing Kingston. We are well outside English jurisdiction. So you see you haven’t got to be executed after all.”
There were bigger questions he would ask in time. He knew better than to quarrel with the surgeon while still confined to his bed. For the moment he would stick with the very practical: “Where are we now?”
“Where? Aboard the TARDIS. My ship,” he explained.
Archie took another look at his surroundings—the level floor, the big square room. “It’s very calm, then,” he said dubiously. “She must be pretty large. What is she, an Indiaman?”
The Doctor laughed, although Archie hadn’t intended it as a joke. “Bigger than that,” he said.
There were more worries there—who crewed her? did they want a fugitive aboard? did he want to be a fugitive, come to that; could he endure it? and what was this captain-surgeon of hers?—but he could feel himself growing faint, coming near the end of his strength for the moment. One more thing he had to ask first.
“Why have you done this for me?”
The Doctor got that tired expression again. He didn’t look at Archie. “I didn’t mean to find you at all,” he said. “I came to Kingston quite by accident; looking for someone, avoiding something else; you know how it is.” Archie didn’t, much, but it didn’t seem to matter. “You were the talk of the town, for the moment at least. I heard your surgeon talking, saying it was better to let you die, before…. I’ve known too many people that thought that way. I’m sick of the waste of lives.” He met Archie’s eyes again, with a lopsided smile. “And I can’t resist a challenge.”
The smile was nearly infectious. “I’ve been remiss,” Archie said. “I haven’t yet thanked you. What for, precisely, I’d still like to know…”
“Just rest,” said the Doctor, “let the nanobots do their work—I’ll explain nanobots later—I’ll come back and explain everything. Don’t, whatever you do, don’t wander off,” but Archie had already obeyed his first command and fallen into a deep unfevered sleep.
#hornblower#eighth doctor#doctor who#my fic#perhaps to appear on ao3 in the near future. Titles ack#intended to be more or less dark eyes/time war eight btw. tired of losing people.#he hasn’t torn open a hole in reality though don’t worry he checked this time

Thoughts on TBOC 204
This was supposed to be it. The episode we all celebrated. The one that would make the setbacks worth it and set the stage for the proper Caryl spinoff we've been waiting for since it was first announced in 2020. Not only did it NOT achieve any of that, it was one of the most painful "Caryl" episodes to get through, even more so for me than "Find Me" in the flagship show. That's saying something. I couldn't bring myself to watch 204 a second time (the first time was pirated I must point out again), and frankly, I think a second watch would only make me look for the benefit of the doubt somewhere, which this episode doesn't deserve. The below is my gut reaction...
The reunion itself was sweet. I loved Carol's choked sob and Daryl's long pause as he tried to figure out if she was real. I loved the running, the crying, and the face touching. It was the best display of who Caryl are as a couple/duo and who McReedus are as acting partners in the whole season. But it's a gimmick. A far less impactful nod to the Terminus reunion that plays out in a vacuum. It doesn't allow for any character growth and it doesn't last long enough for the already reduced impact to hold.
Isabelle's death stifles Caryl's reunion, the one thing that fans were dying to see. Zabel couldn't let them have the space they deserved because even he knows the most organic next step would be Caryl going canon. So he interrupts it as quickly as he can at the expense of another female character's and female actress' dignity, which unfortunately also colors the rest of Caryl's arc together. They can't even have an arc to themselves, nor experience any growth because they have to react to that death. Nothing about Daryl's behavior in the aftermath suggests that Daryl "loves" Isabelle the way Zabel and his mouthpieces characters want us to believe, but it still looms large. For Carol, it means that "her Daryl" found (and lost) somebody else, which is heartbreaking not only for her but for her fans who watched her literally go the distance for this man. Meanwhile, Daryl's mind is occupied with concerns and/or guilt over Laurent being in danger/having nobody else that he doesn't even take the time to acknowledge just how fucking far Carol has come for him and how unfounded his fear of being forgotten was. On the contrary, he's the one who let himself forget about her.
What Carol said on the radio is another thread that gets upended because of Daryl's twisted priorities. As they're looking for Laurent, he asks her in passing about who came back as if he didn't spend all of S1 worrying about it. Carol says it was "a feeling," but when she starts to open up about her struggles, Daryl stops her because he picked up Laurent's trail. That's one of many times in just this one episode that Daryl treats Carol like shit, like he isn't even Daryl anymore because the real Daryl is always attentive, even if he's mad at her for something, he always worries about her, and he always tries to put her first.
Caryl are meant to parallel the old couple they meet up with, I realize that, and I also see the beats that are meant to make us wonder if there's something more between Caryl than friendship, particularly when Carol watches the couple dance and her eye wanders to Daryl very subtly and the beat where the man calls them out for acting like a literal "old married couple." But the parallels get murky and once again, they're eclipsed by Isabelle's death and what she may have meant to Daryl. I guess I'm really tired of parallels in general. Don't give me parallels to Caryl. Give me Caryl beats that move their relationship forward.
I'm sorry to say that I did not enjoy Caryl's banter this episode. It wasn't playful or cute. Most of the time, Daryl was just being a dick to Carol. I think the idea of Daryl having a new family raises her insecurities, and at one point she suggests that Daryl is afraid he'll end up like her, meaning he'll lose his child. Daryl's response is that he isn't afraid of that at all, but Norman's delivery is strange. I can't tell if he's being genuine or if he's mocking her.
Caryl's chemistry is definitely off, and I think some fans are not sure how to reconcile that with the annoyingly subtle "teases" of more. To me, the vibe reminds me of a divorced couple and I kept getting the impression that Daryl is hanging on to some resentment about whatever transpired between them before he left. I think there's a story there, but I do not believe Zabel and the other stooges are open to exploring it. We need a competent showrunner for that.
Daryl's line to Carol that "he never ever stopped trying to get home to her," packs a punch, but not in the way I was hoping. Instead of being Carol's man of honor who shows his devotion to her (something this woman needed), it feels dirty, like a husband who got caught cheating and tries to tell his wife that he was thinking about her the whole time. That sentiment is repeated when Carol hands him the wooden figurine that Judith made for him. My heart shattered for Carol in both of these scenes because she deserves the "only man to make her feel safe" and he just isn't there. I don't know who is, but it's not Daryl and it makes me sad for him too. I miss the real Daryl.
As always, Melissa puts on an incredible performance. So does Clemence. I'm glad they got to act together at least in one scene, but the story doesn't do either of them justice. It's misogynistic, it's hurtful, it's baffling. Where the fuck is the Caryl spinoff we were promised? This isn't it.

More from the Eurylochus Lives au but in this au Ctimene is a follower of Circe after she prayed for help with her and Eurylochus's daughter Elania who has witch powers thanks to Hermes. Worse awkwardly Circe is the one who has to tell Eurylochus, yeah your wife was pregnant before Troy and didn't tell you.
Other witch that saved Eurylochus is named Athea.
___________________________________________
When consciousness came to Eurylochus all he felt was confusion. This time instead of being on the soft sand he was on a soft and silky bed, looking down at himself he also realised he had been changed. Instead of his usual pauldron and purple chiton he was wearing a loose green garment. He groaned in pain.
"What? Where-"
"Welcome back to my home, Eurylochus. I'm afraid you'll be staying here for a long time." A familiar voice said.
He crained his neck up to see Circe but she looked completely different. Her hair was now up to her ears and it looked like it had been singed. Even more noticeable she had mutiple burn scars including one on her face. She also wore a more flowing gown and was holding a staff.
"Circe?" Eurylochus asked.
"It's me. We can talk in the dinning hall, the child who brought you here still hasn't awoken." Circe explained.
"Child?" He asked confused.
"Yes child but she's not just any child she's a witch. Your lucky she found you Eurylochus and tried her best to heal you. Unfortunately in healing you, she forgot to treat her own wounds." Circe explained.
Eurylochus then crained his neck to the side and took in the sight of the child who had found him. Banages were around the stubs of a missing thumb and finger. Her long ginger hair was matted and had a large silver streak running through it. Worse she had a large scar on her right eye. This girl had saved him despite him being responsible for the death of his friends. Worse she didn't even know him or understand how much of a monster he was.
"She should have left me to die!" Eurylochus said.
"You killed my Father's cow Eurylochus, death is not the right way to teach you a lesson." Circe explained.
"Wait, Helios is your father?!" Eurylochus asked, shocked.
"Yes and he's even more sentimental then me. Tying a man to his statue and killing one of his cows is the biggest insult one can give." Circe said, frustrated.
"I'm-"
"Sorry won't reverse what you did." Circe said.
"It's not fair though that I get to live but the men who had nothing to do with my mistake don't." Eurylochus argued.
"Listen someone changed your fate, I don't know how but they did. You have a second chance that rarely anybody gets. Your crew would want you to take it, Odysseus would want you to take it." Circe said.
"Odysseus is the reason I'm here. I hope he drowned painfully in the ocean!" Eurylochus said angrily.
"You have only yourself to blame. One mistake and like a coward you pass the blame back to Odysseus. If you had taken charge you could have saved all of them!" Circe hissed.
"I-"
"Like I said not here Eurylochus! Can you stand?" Circe asked.
Eurylochus tried to move his legs but it was like he was a stranger in his own body. His legs were parlazed he couldn't move.
"My legs! I can't feel my legs-"
"Nerve damage I suspect. Apollo should be able to help you. He helped run things whilst I was incapacitated. For now though." Circe said.
He blinked as he felt himself be levitated in the air. It wasn't the same as walking but it made him feel less useless. Eurylochus knew Zeus's attack had been bad but he now understood how bad it had been. He cursed himself for letting grief and anger consume him after Syclla. Circe was right Odysseus was partly to blame but it was mainly all his fault. He was the reason why Odysseus even had to choose.
"Anything else I should know?" Eurylochus asked.
"The lightning mainly hit your chest and legs so your lucky. You were very close to dying again, consider yourself very lucky. Men like you rarley get to survive." Circe said.
When they got to the dinning hall, Circe gently placed him on a chair next to hers. He was so hungry but he also had loads of questions that he needed answers too, one burning question in particular.
"By all accounts I should be dead." Eurylochus said.
"Yeah you should be but like I said somebody changed your fate."
________
Can't wait to write more of this au.
Especially after all the love with Eurylochus God Games.
Poor eurylochus is getting so much shit for killing the cow when when he just wanted to eat(and maybe die) :(

Can I pls have Rhea Ripley x Fem reader x Dominik Mysterio where they are hanging out at dom's house and the power goes out (for the whole night) and it leads to them confessing their feelings for each other and some fluffy smut? Also glad you enjoyed your request from me! 🥺
Confession In The Dark - Rhea Ripley x Fem! Reader x Dominik Mysterio
Summary: The power goes out for a long time during your hanging at Dominik's house and this whole situation leads you guys to confess your feelings for each other.
Warnings: fluff, mention of smut and burping.
A/N: Hi, dear! Of course! I don't have much knowledge about fluffy smut, but I tried to include only the mention and no kinks because I read in your guidelines you don't write any kink and I though you would be uncomfortable. Hope this is fine, if not, do not hesitate to let me know. Also, sorry I'm late, but I had a writer block.
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!
Rey, Angie and Aalyah were out for a family dinner without that 'pain in the ass' of Dominik.
"That's so rude of them!" You thought once he told you on the phone as he called you and Rhea over to have some beer and watch a movie together.
You and Rhea have lived in the same apartment for three years now and you both agreed to enjoy Dom as you though he could be hurt from being called a pain in the ass by his parents and sister earlier.
Rhea drove at Dom's place. He welcomed you inside before to welcome you in his blanket and pillows fort. "Isn't that a little... childish?" Rhea raised an eyebrow at the amount of blankets and pillows held up by the chairs of the dining table.
You punched her arm with your elbow. "Be nice!" Rhea let out an ouch, rubbing the spot you punched. "Okay, okay."
Dominik pulled out three beers from the fridge and the pizza he ordered earlier and that was delivered before you and Rhea arrived.
You spent the first hour chilling in the fort, eating pizza and drink iced beer. Suddenly Rhea burped so loud like her soul left her body or the devil coming out of her.
"Rhea, wtf?!" You said as you covered your nose as it stinked. It smelled like the salami on the pizza she ate before chugging her beer. Dominik laughed, slapping his hand on his knee, almost dying due his own laughing.
"Oh my God, she had fucking demons inside!" He was losing his breathe until a thunder could be heard from outside and the three of you guys were wrapped in darkness. For your luck, Dominik had a wireless light in the fort.
"Fuck- That was a loud one." Rhea cursed. "Just know I'm too afraid to go and fix it." Dominik shaked his head.
"Fuck you, Dom." Rhea crossed her arms to her chest. "Well, I feel like this is kinda... Romantic, don't you think?" You tried to make it sound less worst than it was before Rhea and Dominik could get into a fight.
"Speaking of fuck-" Rhea shutted his mouth, covering it with her palm before he could finish his inappropriate sentence and ruin the surprise, making you uncomfortable. "We both actually have something to confess to you, Y/n."
You gasped. "What a coincidence. I have a confession as well." You admited.
Their eyes widened. "You do?" You nodded to confirm, before starting with your confession first.
"These days we spent together, I figured out I developed some kinda of feelings for you guys." You face heated up after you spoke.
"Y/n..." Rhea started, uncovering Dom's mouth. "We hope we don't ruin this moment, but..." He continued. "We figured out we have feelings for you, too."
Once you guys were all done with your confession, your eyes locked, an awkward exchange of romantic look made your faces heat up even more.
"This is kinda awkward..." Dom broke that little silence. "But do you think we could already take our relationship to the next level?"
You smiled, giving them a nod to consent.
You won't easily forget the face of the other members of the Mysterio family when they came back home earlier than you guys though and the fort was already filled with your guys' moans and whimpering.

✦⸼࣪⸳𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨: ♡
✦⸼࣪⸳ A/N: Hii! I hope you guys enjoy this fluffy chapter. And yes this is the longest one until now because I definitely wanted to give you all some happiness 😊 /hj
Your lungs ached as if they were burning from the inside, which was ironic because the only thing leaving them was water. Being able to breathe freely was liberating. The worst part of drowning wasn't "dying", but the pain of breathing water.
"H-Hm... do you want me to call someone?" The blond boy tried to help you, patting you lightly on the back. Nothing came of it, but the intention had been good.
"N-No..."
You decided to stay lying down, the pain in your body oscillating between mild and sharp stabs. The horrible sensation of wet clothes sticking to your body and a gigantic tiredness made you close your eyes once more, only to open them again with a strong jolt.
"D-Don't die, please!" The boy looked a little desperate, thinking that your final moments were happening right in front of him.
"I won't die... I think."
With his help, you carefully sat up. The boy seemed very kind and had probably been the one to save you, which was strange as you remembered sinking into an abyss. In any case, it would have been impolite not to thank him.
"Did you help me? Thank you."
"It was...no big deal, the lake is shallow." he pointed to the body of water next to you. It was so shallow that the deepest part would probably reach an adult's shoulders.
'How did I drown in such a stupid thing?'
Your perplexed gaze stared into the lake. Your jaw dropped at the revelation that you had sunk into a lake less than two meters deep. Was it all just an illusion and you had just fainted because of the water? Well, something certainly wasn't right about that.
"Well, I should introduce myself..." You gave him a nice smile and extended a hand towards him so that he could shake your hand. "I'm [Name]."
He shook your hand carefully, as if you were made of glass. He really didn't want to end up hurting you somehow.
"My name is Freminet..."
For the first time, his lips curved upwards into a calm smile. You finally knew his name.
"Why did you run when I saw you inside?"
"I was embarrassed, I thought you'd come to talk to me and I wouldn't know how to answer... you know... I'm sorry." His smile closed, replaced by an embarrassed face and a lot of fidgeting with his fingers. Freminet was clearly embarrassed, but he didn't want to admit it like that.
"No, no, no, no," shaking your hands and head rapidly in denial, you contradicted him. "I'm the one who should apologize, I made you sad... and now you're all wet and might get sick."
You had to find a way to take the blame off him. It wasn't nice to see someone shy like him blaming himself for things that weren't in his control, especially someone as young as him. It brought back memories of dark times when you were afraid to show up for the crowds during festivals.
"You should smile more and act like you really like it. Do you think people would love a 'Child of Prophecy' who can't even grace them with their presence?" Your former nanny pointed a finger at your face, a slightly annoyed expression on her face.
"I-I'm sorry-"
"If you were really sorry, you'd do better at your job."
You really liked that nanny, she ended up dying trying to protect you from the charges when they took you to court. So why were you questioning her attitudes now? Maybe it was the ungrateful part of you speaking a little louder.
"All right... oh, wait..." His eyes slightly widened. Freminet quickly reached into his pockets and started pulling out various mechanical parts.
"What are these? And how can so much fit into such a small pocket?"
The parts were soaked, they would most likely have to be discarded as they would rust due to the state they were in. They consisted of a few screws, chains and even a thin copper wire.
"They're my mending equipment. Mom always brings nice things when she gets home from work, but they're always broken..."
"So you fix them." You looked at him with a proud look, hoping you'd got it right.
"Yes... but I never know where they'll end up."
A calm wind blew over you. Even though it was warm, it made you both shiver because of being soaked from head to toe.
An awkward silence hung in the air after Freminet's reply, neither of you had anything to talk about at the moment. His hands carried those little pieces, which he stared at. Taking advantage of the silence, you stopped to think about everything that had just happened.
'I need to find something, but what? I couldn't hear anything in the end. Besides, what was that place? It was the center of Fontaine, but a little different from how I remember it, even if I didn't leave the temple much... Nine years have passed since I died, so I'm sure what I saw was in the present.'
Something even more disturbing was troubling you. When you were near the fountain, your reflection was no longer your own. What did that mean? You had never seen that child before in your entire life.
'That wasn't me. What kind of connection do I have with that person? Why did that place show me like her? How did she manipulate Hydro without a vision? Why-'
You were interrupted by a hand on your shoulder. Freminet was pulling another of his trinkets out of his pocket.
"You're sad, aren't you?"
"A little..." your hands hugged your knees, helping you feel a little warmer. "But what's that?"
You pointed to the object in his hands, which he placed closer to you. It was like a little machine in the shape of a dog. It was cute, but it was a bit wet and would probably need to be in the sun for a while before it would turn on.
"It's... something I fixed recently. I didn't give it a name."
He put the little machine down, pressing a button to test it. The puppy took three steps before falling to the side and turning off.
"It's broken." You looked pityingly at the object's failure, wondering if Freminet would be hurt by it.
However, Freminet just picked it up and gave it a few light slaps before turning it on again. This time, the puppy was able to walk forward by moving its mechanical paws.
"Can we..." He turned red with embarrassment and turned his head away. "Can we be... friends?"
"Oh."
You blinked twice when you heard his question. No one had ever asked you that before, absolutely never. Was that how people formed friendships? Wasn't it too direct? But for some reason, you couldn't help but smile.
"Of course!" You grabbed one of his hands and looked at him with starry eyes "Now I'm your new friend, [Name], and you're my first friend!"
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to be friends with someone your own age. It wasn't as if Freminet had the power to condemn you to death or anything. A friendship was something you'd never had before, so you were excited to form one with Freminet.
"So as a gift of friendship, I'll give you this." He placed the puppy in the palm of your hand.
"For me, really?! Thank you!" You hugged him tightly, basically throwing yourself on top of the poor thing, who was unresponsive and then very embarrassed.
"You're welcome... it's a... gift from a friend."
You smiled at each other. Was it so strange to make friends with a child you'd only met a few minutes ago? Well, they say children are quick with that sort of thing.
It didn't last long, because when you realized what you'd done, you quickly separated in a way that didn't look like you were running away from him. Mentally, you couldn't help wishing that you would grow up soon. These habits that your mind had created, because it was that of a child, ended up putting you in many situations that were normal for children, yet shameful.
'Damn childish impulses.'
"You could give him a name."
A name... a few ideas crossed your mind. One in particular was very tempting, maybe it would work.
"Then I'll name it Furina."
"Fu...rina?" He looked at you with a confused face. This was not a name commonly used, nor even allowed in the nation of Fontaine, as it was disrespectful to the name of the Archon. "Isn't that... isn't that forbidden? They say we can't name animals like that."
"Yes, but you won't tell anyone. Right, Freminet?"
He looked like a sad puppy begging for more snacks. It was the first law you'd broken in your life, apart from the ideological falsehood that decorated your criminal record in the past, since you were supposedly "impersonating the child of the prophecy".
"I'm not going." Freminet scratched the back of his head. He didn't look like a child who liked lying to others or hiding secrets. "But why did you choose that name?"
'Damn, I forgot to think of an excuse-'
"Well, it's because I really admire Lady Furina. I want to honor her in this way!" Your hands fiddled with the little mechanisms of the robotic animal.
"But are you sure you want to leave it to me? I'm not very good at looking after pets."
Your eyes met his. You needed to make sure it was really yours before you did whatever you wanted with it.
"Mhm... Mom always brings new trinkets, so I can always make more. She comes to pick up food from time to time, but this time she didn't want to leave me home alone."
He really seemed to know what he was doing, maybe one day you could ask him to fix your closet door that has come apart. Since Clorinde wasn't very good at this sort of thing, a loose screw turned into a dismantled door.
"Isn't it strange to walk around with that?" It just slipped out of your mouth without thinking, and then the consequences came.
'Oops...'
He seemed to be a little hurt by what you said. His eyes glistened a little with unshed tears. He was a bit offended by the statement but didn't want to speak.
"T-That's not what I meant." You waved your arms in front of him, trying to clear up the misunderstanding. "I've never seen anything like that before..."
Your bad habit of saying things without thinking every now and then was something you urgently needed to fix.
"Will you pardon me? I'm really sorry..."
He shook his head and wiped his eyes with his hands. His clothes were almost dry, which was good, as it would prevent him from catching a cold.
You looked out at the lake again. But this time a wave of nausea hit you as soon as your eyes came into contact with it. Your head turned quickly in another direction, as if you were running away from it.
'Hm... I don't think I'm going to want to go near it any time soon.'
"Are you coming back to visit me more often, Freminet?" You fiddled with the present once more, caressing the robotic pet's head.
"I don't know, this is the first time I've come..."
His face paled completely. His eyes widened and he stood up instantly.
"I-I split up with Mom. She must be worried."
He looked at you with those glassy eyes, as if asking for help. This was the time to repay him for what he had done for you.
"Don't worry, I know the way back to where she is. Come with me!" You held out a hand to him, which he held while you guided him. His mother must probably be desperately looking for her missing son.
"I shouldn't have gone away from her... I'm seven years old now, but I still give mom a hard time like this."
Freminet was almost in tears. With his head down and his voice weak, he felt very guilty for worrying his mother.
"Oh, you're the same age as me then. I turned seven a while ago."
"Hm? You're only seven? Then why do you talk like an adult?"
You froze, was it really that obvious? Sister Dora and Clorinde never commented on it, although Clorinde was a mature child in her own right.
"I-I don't talk like an adult! I'm quite a child, you know!" You stuck your tongue out at him in the hope of disguising your behavior.
You walked for a while until you finally reached Freminet's mother, a pretty woman with blonde hair like his, who was in a corner being consoled by other women. She seemed very shaken by his disappearance, using a tissue to wipe away her tears.
"I should have paid more attention to him. I-"
Her eyes finally stopped on the two of you. The woman got up and ran over to Freminet, hugging him tightly as if she didn't want to lose him again.
"Freminet! You scared your poor mother. Where were you? Are you hurt?!"
She put a hand on his cheek, her face a faint smile of relief.
'Hm...' You stood in the corner, watching the scene unfold before you. Could this be how Sister Dora felt when you disappeared into the temple?
"Sorry... I got distracted and wandered off, but I made a friend." He looked at you, causing his mother to turn her head in your direction too. She was a little embarrassed to be seen like this by one of her son's friends.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." She smiled gently at you and wiped her tearstained face with her handkerchief, trying to look more presentable. "It's nice to meet you, hm...?"
"[Name], just [Name]."
"[Name]... It suits you. Thank you for being Freminet's friend..."
She got up and took the monthly food offered by the temple. She seemed to be getting ready to leave, after everything that had happened. Freminet's mother whispered something in his ear, which seemed to put him off a little.
"We'll have to leave now, say goodbye to your friend."
She patted his head, pushing him slightly forward. Freminet didn't seem happy about having to leave.
"Goodbye, [Name]. Don't forget me... please."
"I won't, don't worry."
You hugged him one last time before he left. The scene was seen by the women who were with his mother earlier and by some of the temple volunteers, and would surely have reached the ears of Clorinde or Sister Dora. And so you waved goodbye to him, while watching through the window their silhouettes moving away as the sun set.
Passing through the corridors, you decided to go back to your room to finally rest after everything that had happened. Freminet's gift in your hands reflected the sunlight that hit it.
For some reason, as you walked, you felt the urge to cough. The only thing that came out of your incessant coughing was... water. And that's how you realized:
You couldn't breathe anymore.
Along with this, a strong dizziness caused you to lean on a nearby pillar. And with the agonizing pain in your lungs returning, you fell to the ground.
Your eyes frantically searched for anyone around, finding no one. Despair seized your veins as oxygen failed to reach you.
At the end of the corridor, a figure hidden by shadow gave you the shivers. As if you were facing the somber face of death itself again.
'How many times will I have to die in the same day, damn you!-'
You were cut short out of your thoughts by that voice again. The same voice you heard when that monochromatic Fontaine collapsed.

Angel | Tommy Shelby (Dark/Angst)
A/N: I was planning on writing something totally different but suddenly this idea came up and I decided to go with it. I put it together pretty fast so I hope it doesn’t feel too rushed. I guess you can count this one as a dark fic. Otherwise it’s just a lot of angst. The ending was supposed to be more comforting but I decided I wanted more angst so I’m here to break your hearts.
Warning: DARK/ANGST. Mentions of blood, fighting, dying, death, loss, war, mild swearing. Just a pretty dark fic in general.
Word count: 1208
The tunnels were dark and breathing became hard. Tommy and his comrades were doing their best to keep as quiet as possible. The pounding of his heart was clearly present in his ears, he was terrified. Terrified to die in these horrible tunnels they were digging.
He tried to think about things that kept him sane but his mind was racing. He didn’t want to show his comrades that he was afraid, he was a leader and leaders can’t be cowards.
He held the lamp in front of him as he heard the digging on the other side of the walls, his hand shaking of fear. They were close and he knew it. He heard their muffled voices as he glanced quickly over to his men behind him. Not just his men but his friends, all from Small Heath, he had known them for years. Freddie, Danny, Barney, they were all there. He could see the panic in their eyes.
His eyes focused back on the sand that was dropping from the walls in front of him as he held his breath. His grip on the lamp tightened as he heard voices becoming less and less muffled.
Suddenly the barrier between them and the voices broke. A soldier attacked him. He heard the shouts of his comrades while he tried to fight the man off. Danny tried to help Tommy but a shot rang trough the small tunnel, he heard Danny scream in pain.
Tommy tried to reach for them, for something but he wasn’t able to. Another shot was heard and screams of both Danny and Freddie filled the tunnels. He was still fighting the soldier that was on top of him. He felt a sharp pain in his chest and stomach. Tommy reached for his chest and felt some kind of liquid sticking to his hand.
He was trapped and realized that he had been stabbed. Another shot rang and the screams intensified. All he could hear were the unbearable noises of his dying friends, making it hard for him to concentrate. The soldier saw his chance and squeezed Tommy’s throat tightly, choking him.
Tommy grabbed his arms, trying to tear the hands off his throat. He struggled as the air in his lungs was cut off, tears forming in his eyes from the pressure. He needed to fight harder, he needed to safe his friends.
The volume of the screams started to fade and a few seconds later it was quiet. Tommy’s hands found the blade the soldier had stabbed him with and cut his face. The man screamed in agony and let go of his throat.
Tommy pushed him off, stabbing the man multiple times. Rage raced trough his body, he kept going until the man didn’t respond anymore.
Tommy stared at the body, breathing heavily. Reality hit him as he dropped the blade, quickly looking over to his comrades. They layed on the ground, mud and blood covering their bodies. He crawled over to them, panic washing over him as he tried to wake them.
They weren’t responding. None of them. Tommy screamed at them to wake up, to get out. They didn’t move.
A rumbling sound was coming trough the tunnel as sand fell down on him. He tried to drag his men back but it was too heavy for him to do it on his own.
He needed to get out of the tunnel as soon as possible but he couldn’t leave his comrades, his friends. Tears streamed down his face as he was begging them to wake up.
The tunnel collapsed in front of him, burying some of the bodies. Tommy tried to flee to the other side but got trapped under another part of the tunnel that collapsed on top of him.
He tried to crawl out of it but before he had a chance he was buried in pure darkness. The sand was slowly suffocating him and there was no way to escape.
He was left to die in the mud. He had failed his men and he had failed himself.
Suddenly he felt a hand brushing over his chest, then he felt the same on his shoulder, followed by a squeeze. A soft voice was heard somewhere in the distance but he couldn’t make up who it was.
The voice came closer, it was soothing. He was still surrounded by nothing but pitch black and the sand was still suffocating him. “Tommy?” It was the voice again. Was he dead already? He must be. The voice was soft and silvery, only an angel would have such a voice and he certainly wouldn’t go to heaven.
“Tommy, please.” He shot up, his eyes wide and breath heavy. He looked around and found himself in bed, his wife next to him. She had a worried look on her face. Did he take her with him? He couldn’t remember he saw her face in the tunnels.
“Tommy” She said softly. “I’m here, you’re safe.” She added, stroking his hair. A small, reassuring smile on her face.
“They all died.” Tommy mumbled while he grabbed her hand, staring at her face. “It’s not your fault.” She told him softly. “We’re not dead. Are we?” He asked her, a hint of hesitate in his voice.
“You’re not, love.” She assured him. Tommy let go of her hand and rubbed his face, pressing his palms against his eyes. As soon as he closed his eyes, the memories came flooding back in.
“Fuck.” He mumbled, he removed his hands from his face and looked back at her. She was gone.
He called out her name but got no response. He decided to get up and look for her downstairs. A faint light came from under his office door. What the hell would she be doing there?
He entered his office, hoping he would find her there but he didn’t. He made his way to his desk, his eyes fell on the ring that was stored carefully next to a picture of her.
It was her wedding ring. He knew he was missing something when he held her hand. He sat down in his chair, staring at the picture in front of him. He took a cigarette from the case that was laying on his desk, lighting it.
It had been months since she had passed. Her death was sudden, a mistake and he blamed himself for it. He missed her so much, she was the only one to keep him sane at times. She always knew how to help him, how to calm him down.
She still tried to, once in a while she visited him.
He wished she could stay a little longer, to comfort him and tell him that she loved him. And then he could tell her how much he loved her, how much she meant to him. He regretted that he didn’t tell her that more often.
But she left all too quickly. He couldn’t blame her, at least she still took the time to come tell him that he was safe, to wake him from his horrible nightmares. He was happy to see her face, even though it was just for a minute.
Hopefully she would come back soon.

Imagine being a knight from Lordran and helping Luthien on her journey
(Another Dark Souls piece I wrote and left to gather dust in the storage. It might seem a less edited, but I hope you like it)
Warnings: mentions of dying, fighting, blood, violence, imprisonment, escaping, the C & C are the regular jerks, muteness, reader somehow ends up as that one therapist.
-----------------------------------
- Imagine after Luthien escapes, she wanders through the outer borders of Doriath. She ends up encountering you, a person wearing strange armor, battling a terrifying creature she had never seen in her immortal life.
-It was so horrifying – she hid in the shadows and watched the battle between you and the monster.
-You skillfully evade the attacks, rolling away and using your shield to block.
-However, you were getting exhausted. The injuries had started to take their toll on you, and you had no estus flasks left. You were going to die soon if you didn't finish the creature, and you couldn’t let that happen.
-There was something wrong. You couldn't feel the connection to the flame. It vanished ever since you fell into that mist with the creature.
-For the first time in years, you were afraid of what was going to happen if you died. Even as an undead, something bad might happen.
-You found your chance to attack when the creature left itself open and quickly plunged your sword into its chest, finishing it off and letting its blood dress the grass beneath you.
-The creature screamed in pain as its body turned into dust, and you were left standing, victorious and alive.
-But, your victory was short-lived as your body began to collapse from all the wounds and exhaustion.
-You fell on your knees, your vision going dark.
-As a last resort to stay alive, you tried to dig through your bag and find the black sprite of humanity.
-You found the sprite, but you fell before you could crush it. Your body refused to move, and your mind was falling into the darkness. Unable to save yourself, you accepted your fate.
-You stared at the blue sky in wonder as you did not remember Lordran to possess such beauty before succumbing to the darkness and letting the fangs of death take you once more.
-Luthien came out from hiding after witnessing your victory and battle. She was quick to come to your side and feel the life inside you vanishing.
-She took the strange sprite that lay by your side and with her own magic, used it to heal you, unknowingly reviving you from death itself.
-You were surprised to awake from the darkness and even more surprised to find a beautiful maiden kneeling by your side.
-Luthien was glad and spoke to you, speaking about the battle between you and the monster and how she managed to save your life.
-You were amazed by her beauty and even more amazed that she was not an undead like most people you have encountered so far.
-Luthien asked for your assistance to help her travel outside and find her lover, Beren, who she sensed was in grave danger. Your sword skills had impressed her, and in return for saving you, you decided to swear your blade to her.
-You did not speak, but Luthien understood your gesture, and that is how you two set forth to find her lover.
- You never spoke or said anything, barely made any sound, so Luthien took you for mute. It did not bother her since your bodily gestures, like nods and shaking your head, were obvious enough for her questions.
-In truth, you had no idea about Middle Earth, elves, orcs, Sauron, or even Morgoth.
- However, since phantoms from other worlds were possible in Lordran, you guessed you had somehow traveled to another world, which would explain the disconnection to the flame and the fire link shrines.
-You did not have much of an opinion about the elven princess. Luthien was quite talkative, talking about the plans and sometimes ranting about the situation with her lover and her father’s pride price, which could get her lover killed.
-You did not know how to offer comfort when she was having these moments since you were rather closed off from feeling emotions and empathy, so the best you could do was lend your ear and a hand to hold for comfort.
-Luthien did not know how to feel by your silence, but she found comfort in your company and in the small gestures you did. You provided odd companionship, but it was enough.
-You did everything she asked, but one thing you refused to do was show your face beneath your helmet. It was a bit odd, but she stopped asking when you gestured that wearing the helmet was a personal choice.
- When you two were found by Huan, you reacted with aggression as you didn’t have great experiences with undead dogs from Lordran. You took out your sword, ready to kill the beast.
-Luthien was lucky to calm you down and prove Huan meant no harm.
-You wanted to trust her intuition, but still, you kept a careful watch on the hound as he led you two to his two masters.
-You were skeptical of the two Noldor princes, Celegorm and Curufin. There was something odd about them, especially how they looked at Luthien when she revealed herself and spoke to them.
-You have met a fair amount of people with tongues like snakes, so you knew something was off when they denied meeting Beren or him ever coming to Nargothrond to seek aid from its king, Finrod Felagund.
-They promised to give their aid if you came to Nargothrond, but when Celegorm offered to give Luthien a ride on his horse, you grabbed her shoulder and shook your head.
-An uneasy feeling rose within Luthien when you gestured for her not to accept the ride. You knew there was something else about the princess that she should be cautious about, so she declined Celegorm’s offer. She claimed she wanted to walk with you since there weren’t enough horses, and she did not want to make it unfair for you.
-Celegorm sent you a glare that did not go unnoticed, and it was now more clear to you that the elven prince had something else in his mind than aiding Luthien.
-Despite his insistence, Luthien declined and walked with you to Nargothrond, becoming more suspicious of their words.
-You faithfully defended her when beasts ambushed from the shadows, resulting in your sword losing its durability and breaking after the fight.
- When you reached Nargothrond, Curufin offered to have your sword patched by the kingdom’s blacksmiths, and despite your reluctance to leave Luthien alone with the princess, you complied when she insisted and convinced you to have your gear fixed.
-If you had found a bonfire, you could have repaired your sword and gear with its flames, but since you were in another world. You were unable to do so.
-You met Curufin’s son, Celebrimbor, who seemed intimidated by your presence but agreed to repair your sword and some of your gear.
-You concluded Celebrimbor was not bad like his father after watching him repair your gear and listening to him talk about things. He seemed to be rather naive to his father’s secretive nature.
-Celebrimbor was intimidated by your silence and how you watched him but then found an odd pleasant time talking with you.
-He was impressed by your gear and fascinated with your weapons since they seemed to be enchanted with ores he was not familiar with.
-He took you for mute since you only answered with nods and shakes, but you gave a different answer by drawing the name of the blacksmith who enchanted your weapons to the ground.
-The uneasy feeling about you within him vanished, and he even talked about personal things such as the ongoing thing with his family and how his life seemed to go so far.
-You didn’t know how to feel, but you offered comfort by awkwardly patting him on the back.
-However, when he mentioned a mortal man named Beren recently arriving in Nargothrond to seek the aid of King Finrod, who had left Nargothrond in charge of Orodreth — you became alerted.
- The realization that the two princes had indeed lied about Beren ever coming to Nargothrond sparked a flame of anger and fear since it meant Luthien was in danger.
-Celebrimbor was startled when you suddenly grabbed your repaired gear and weapons and marched out of the forge.
-You walked through the stone halls but hid and carefully listened in the shadows when the two Noldor princes came to your sight.
-They talked about having Luthien’s hand in marriage and gaining her father’s alliance for their war against Morgoth.
-Celegorm was certain he could gain her affection even though she had greatly refused. He would even do it by force, but in the meantime, he would allow time to soften her up while keeping her locked.
-They had however one problem, which was you. They had to find out how to get rid of you since you would no doubt help Luthien escape if you found out.
-You were infuriated by their plans to force Luthien into an unwanted marriage and the realization that they had tricked you into separating from her by having your gear fixed.
-You wanted to spill their blood and see their pathetic life leave their very eyes, but you knew that you needed to be smarter and free Luthien first from her captivity. It will be difficult since you can’t kill like you could in Lordran. The elves were living, not undead.
-Not only that, you needed to find out where Luthien was kept while not alerting the princess since you had already left the forges.
-You became cautious when Huan appeared to you from the shadows. You were ready to kill the creature, but when the dog laid down in submission – you hesitated. There was something in its eyes that told you not to kill it, not yet, at least.
-You had an odd feeling that the beast was on your side instead of its master. However, since dogs can’t talk — you decided to break your silence and ask where his masters had hidden Luthien.
-The dog stood up and motioned you to follow him. Reluctant but in haste, you decided to trust the dog— after making it clear what you would do to him if he betrayed you and Luthien.
-You guessed the beast took your warning seriously as he then led you through secret paths to the room where Luthien was kept.
-You knocked on the door to confirm her presence and were slightly relieved to hear her voice.
-Luthien was glad to know you were behind the door and worried since the door was locked and said you had to find a key, which was most likely with Celegorm. But little did she know that you possessed a set of keys to everything.
-You grabbed your master key from your bag and opened the door without a hitch, surprising Luthien and Huan on the go.
-Luthien did not expect you to open the door quickly but was glad to see you, and you three then made your escape.
-Huan decided to come along despite your obvious dislike toward him, but then you were found by the two princes, who quickly learned about your disappearance and Luthien’s escape. You picked Luthien up and set her on Huan’s back so you could run.
-your high endurance made it easy for you to keep up with the dog’s speed, and you nearly made it through the front entrance only to be stopped when the two princes alarmed the guards and claimed you were kidnapping the princess.
-You got surrounded, and you had the attention of all who were in the main entrance, including King Orodreth.
-Celegorm boldly claimed you had done something to his hound and his guest, claiming you were doing evil’s work because why else would his own hound assist you.
-Luthien was infuriated and told the truth about how he and his traitorous brother had lied and locked her up, intending to force her hand into marriage, sprouting everything that happened. Why else would his hound betray him instead of helping him with his evil?
-King Orodreth and all the other bystanders shared mixed looks, uncertain of which side to take.
-Celegorm claimed she was confused, and when you saw one of his servants approach her from behind – you acted, taking out your sword and cutting his hand.
-The elves were frightened when the servant screamed at his severed hand.
-Luthien pleaded you not to kill them, but you acted when the other guards came at you.
-You fought all of them furiously, avoiding their attacks and striking back with force powerful enough to send them flying. You did not give them a chance to lay a single wound on you.
-You heeded Luthien’s plea and did not kill any of them, so you only struck them down, too injured to fight you.
-Celegorm and his brother grew pale, and the elves of Nargothrond grew frightful as you fought like an undefeatable warrior in their eyes with the strength and speed of a beast. They could not tell if you were either an elf or a man beneath the helmet.
-You turned your gaze upon the brothers after defeating all of the guards, making them prepare for a fight.
-Celegorm said he had never lost a swordfight even though there was uncertainty in his voice.
-You grabbed something out of your bag, a pouch of paper that seemed to contain dust made out of charcoal.
-They watched as you held your sword before you, wrapping the paper and the charcoal around the metal, before gripping and pulling the pouch across your sword, igniting the blade in flames.
-The brothers were startled as you held your flaming sword, ready to fight. For the first time, they were uncertain if they could win a fight as they had never witnessed such a thing before.
-However, Celegorm had his pride, and despite the odds – he was ready to fight you, unwilling to lose and have Luthien escape his grasp.
- King Orodreth quickly ordered the fight to be ceased, wanting no blood to be shed on Nargothrond.
-He turned toward Luthien and told her he believed her since you had heeded her order and not killed any of the guards.
-He did ask her and you to leave and continue your journey alone since you had severely wounded his and Celegorm’s people.
-Luthien agreed even though she demanded Celegorm and Curufin pay the price for the crime against her.
-You felt disappointed by the outcome as you would have loved to set the two on fire but faithfully followed Luthien along with Huan out of Nargothrond, leaving a forever frightful expression upon the brothers and the elves that witnessed your terrifying might.

Please babes, spare a crumb for chapter 11, anything, I’m dying to know what’s going to happen with my babies 😭❤️
The more time went on, the more desperate Harry became. While at first he’d just sat next to her bed, he’d ended up crawled next to her by the crack of dawn. If he barely could take in the sight of her at first, he was now scanning every inch of her as if to memorize her better. Barely daring to talk to her at first, he was now whispering right in her ear. Not for fear of being overheard. Again, he couldn’t give less of a fuck of how he appeared to Niall, Lester or any of the nurses who came in during the night to check on Y/N. But as to be as gentle as possible with her, as to not startle her in her slumber, for he knew she was only asleep.
He did hope she could hear him. Because he had a lot he wanted to tell her. Things he was desperate to get out, for fear he maybe wouldn’t get the chance to later on.
It wasn’t ideal, this wasn’t how he wanted this to happen. But he couldn’t hold it in any longer. “My love, please come back to me,” he murmured in her ear, not for the first time, not for the last time. “Please, I want to look into your pretty eyes again. Wish I’d told you how much I love your eyes before. I get so lost inside your eyes. Would you believe it? Or would you scoff and look away, thinking I was taking the piss? I don’t think you ever knew how far gone I was. I never showed you what you do to me. Not just my body, but my heart. Was too afraid to. Like a fucking coward. I wish I could take it back, wish I could show you just how much you’ve meant to me all along. Wish I could’ve seen your eyes when I first told you I loved you, no, when I sobbed it, when Niall brought us in and finally left us alone after he poked at my injuries for what felt like hours. It’s not that I didn’t want him to hear, hell, I’ll shout it from the rooftops. Mountain tops. I’ll howl it to the moon. I just… I wanted your ears to hear it first. I love you. You’re my mate. I’ve known from the start. I wish I could’ve told you. I wish there’d been a better way. Wish I’d been braver. Anything. Anything but this. Anything but you in this bed. Anything but you so weak and in pain, and–”
Harry buried his face in the crook of her neck and allowed himself to sob once more. He’d not cried since he was an infant, as children do, but he could physically feel his heart breaking. It was unbearable. If he held onto her tight enough, she couldn’t leave him. Right? “Everyone left. My parents. My brother. Don’t leave me too. Not when I finally found you. Not when you finally know. Not when I know that… you love me too… I know you do. Tell me you do, Y/N. Please. Please open those pretty eyes, and move those pouty lips and tell me. I swear I’ll not want for anything ever again. And if you don’t… That’s… that’s ok, too,” he sniffled, pulling away a bit and wiping his tears away from her skin. “Just wake up. If I’m wrong, and you don’t want to see me again, if… if seeing me was too much, is too much… I swear I’ll understand. I’ll do whatever you want, I’ll get lost forever if that’s what you want. Just please… wake up. Please.”

Day 4
Thanks to the wonderful @agirlandherquill for hosting this lovely challenge and inviting me to join along with many others! Please join yourself if you would like to!
This is for all of my J&R loving friends, Enjoy! <33
Prompts:
|"You've never looked at me like that before."|"One more word... See what happens."|The knife trembled in their hand.|Aching|
-
Ronan yanked at the chains in a vain attempt to find a weak point, gritting his teeth as he struggled, gasping in desperate sobs as the cuffs dug into his flesh. “C’mon… come on! Come… ON!” The Elf yanked even harder, ignoring the furious pain burning in his wrists as the metal scraped through his skin.
“Well, well, well!” Aseiri slammed the door open, her sharp laugh ringing through the air. Ronan froze when he saw her. She wore a combination of rich hazel leather with intricate pressed patterns, Chainmail, and flowy red silk that swished around her ankles and wrists when she moved but didn’t restrict her movement.
Silvery Steel plates twisted over the top of her chest, another solid piece resting in the center right over her sternum, chainmail hanging from the plates just low enough to brush her hips where the silk flared. Strapped to her back was her battleaxe. He’d seen it cleave a Mahogany dinner table clean in half with one swing, and he dreaded what it would do to his bones if they ever came into contact.
But she didn’t reach for the axe as she stalked up to him, dropping to one knee and cupping his chin in one of her slender hands, forcing his face on level with hers. “Hello, little Wolf.”
Ronan stuffed his terror to the back of his mind and flashed her a winning grin as his wrists and ankles ached from the chafing. “My my, what a lovely Foxglove my host has so graciously gifted me the privilege of laying eyes on!”
She roughly dropped his head, backhanding him across the cheek in less than an instant. Ronan’s head snapped to the side, and he coughed, gasping for air. “You’ve never looked at me like that before, love. Is it a special day?”
Aseiri flicked a knife from her belt, trailing her finger delicately along the flat edge as she stooped down to his eye level, snapping it toward his neck quicker than he saw the lantern’s flame shine on the metal. “One more word, Wolf… See what happens.”
“Now, now! Is this how you treat your guests?” Ronan faltered for a moment and his voice cracked, lightheaded in suspense as he forced the smile back onto his face and cleared his throat, eyes betraying him as he shrugged. “Because if it is, I shan’t like ever to come back!”
Aseiri narrowed her eyes, the knife drawing a thin line of blood from his neck before she spun it away from him. “Ha! As if you’re ever leaving!” She grinned. “Lucky for you, little Wolf, I’m only here to bring you your dinner. Don’t want you dying before I can have a little fun with you, now do we?” She stalked to the door, lifting the tray from a side table and sarcastically throwing it across the room toward him, scattering the items across the floor. “There. Eat like the dog you are.” And slammed the door shut.
As the bolt clicked into place, Aseiri slumped against the door, knife trembling in her hands. The crack in his voice, his eyes. Now that she thought about it, he couldn’t be any older than she was. Could she really hurt him? She’d disregarded screams for mercy a million times before, why was this different?
Was it because of the fear in the eyes of the others when she’d taken him? His own facade of confidence to hide his terror so similar to her own? Was he also afraid of failing someone he loved? Afraid of being replaced? Was she, by proving her worth to her master, making him a failure to his?
“Aseiri.”
The guard snapped to attention, brandishing the knife before she recognized Jatár and instantly dropped to one knee. “Sir!”
“What are you doing? Have you interrogated the prisoner as I asked?” His eyes narrowed.
Aseiri knew of the consequences, but the lie slipped between her lips faster than she could hold it back. “Yessir. He refused to comply. I shall resort to blood. I will no doubt have no trouble breaking his resolve tomorrow evening.”
“Good. I’m proud of you, Daughter. Don’t fail me.”
“I… I won’t sir. I swear it.”

Hey so after thinking about the party as "people who come together to all get brain surgery," now I'm thinking of a modern AU where people from all walks of life all have the same deadly illness and they're all in the same surgery ward or whatever like The Fault in Our Stars.* Or maybe not the same illness, but it's all deadly.
*[Disclaimer: I have not read The Fault in Our Stars]
Karlach and Gale have the most immediately applicable situations; Karlach is dying and Gale's pain medication is becoming less effective with every dose.
Maybe Karlach was drafted, sent to war, and was theoretically honorably discharged when her disease came to light. But she can't get veteran's benefits for whatever reason (or if she can, it barely helps), and she's furious that the past ten years were wasted.
Gale used to be wealthy, but his incredibly expensive medication forced him to pawn almost all of his worldly possessions, and now he's reduced to begging his friends for money. He's also determined not to die because he's the head researcher for some really important project that would solve world hunger or something, and his death would set them back decades.
Lae'zel starts out rather blase about everything because she knows that her people have the real cure. When it turns out to be euthanasia, she's devastated, and vows to bring modern medicine back to her homeland if she survives.
Shadowheart is super determined to make the most of her remaining life by accomplishing this great thing for her church, and is distraught when she realizes that they aren't worth it.
Astarion was in some kind of situation where he was chained to his soul-sucking job, and his imminent death makes him realize that he can quit his job and do whatever he wants with his life. Might go the Breaking Bad route.
Wyll wants to reconcile with his father in his final days. But he's afraid to, maybe because it might seem like he's trying to take advantage of his fortune, or he doesn't want his father to worry about his dying son.
Durge is trying to be a good person, but whatever they have is causing aggression and memory loss, much to their dismay. They can't remember their ex, Gortash, and their sister Orin is trying to screw them out of treatment so she can get their inheritance.
The game doesn't really touch upon Minsc's tadpole, but I can see that he doesn't qualify for treatment until Jaheira threatens the doctor. Jaheira also was in a situation where she could have nipped Minsc's illness in the bud, but she chose to do something to save more lives instead.
[Sorry, Minthara; I haven't gotten you yet.]

Be still, my foolish heart part 5
@steddie-week day 5
together: 1144 words, kas!eddie so blood cw
part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4
When Eddie feels human again, feels like he’s not dying of starvation, the reality of the situation sets in.
He’s been denying himself this, denying himself everything, because he wants Steve so much he doesn't know what to do with himself.
He let himself become a shell of a person, less human than even drinking blood makes him, because he’s so deeply obsessed with Steve that he couldn't fathom, still can't fathom really, drinking blood from anyone else. He knows it’s not sustainable. He knows it’s stupid. He knows.
But in his head, when he was getting worse and worse, weaker and weaker, he couldn't do anything about it. He couldn't go out and find a deer, he couldn't even accept the squirrel Dustin brought him (and seriously, how the hell did Dustin even catch a squirrel?) because he felt like a fucking failure. He drove Steve away, with his wanting. He drove him away and he didn't think he could ask one of his friends to be put in that situation too. He’d drive them all away.
But Steve is here now.
Steve came back.
So there must be some hope.
“Thanks. For this,” Eddie whispers after making Steve lay down, because he thinks he took a lot of blood and Steve looked a little woozy.
There's a flush high on Steve's cheeks and he looks so fucking good laying in Eddie’s bed. He shakes himself out of that thought because that’s what got him in this mess in the first place.
“Can I get you water? Or something to eat?” he asks, desperate to help Steve feel better.
“Water would be good,” Steve says, his fingers stroking over the bite marks on his wrist. “And, and maybe something to eat.”
Eddie nods and rushes to the kitchen to find something.
He thinks that maybe they can salvage this, maybe he can make things better and they can be friends again. Maybe Steve will let him drink from him if he doesn't make things weird between them again.
He pours Steve a glass of water and grabs a couple granola bars and a bag of chips from the cabinet for him.
Back inside his room, Steve is sitting up against the headboard of his bed, looking a little worn out.
Fuck, Eddie’s missed him.
“Here you go,” he says, handing him the handful of snacks and the glass of water. “You can stay for as long as you need.” He bites his lip, suddenly afraid that Steve’s going to bolt as soon as he can.
“Thanks,” Steve says, a small smile on his lips.
Eddie watches as he drinks the glass of water down and opens up a granola bar.
He doesn't know if he should say something else, if he should explain that yes, he wants Steve in ways that he can't have, but that doesn't mean they can't be friends. It doesn't mean that he’s going to ask for more than Steve can give him. He can be content with just this, just drinking his blood and taking care of him after, if that’s something Steve wants.
He’s saved from blurting all that out by Steve asking, “Why did you let things get that bad?” He has a contemplative look on his face, but he doesn't look like he’s judging Eddie, which helps Eddie find the words he wants to say.
“I just. Things got so messed up between us after, after I first drank from you. I couldn't stomach going back to animal blood after tasting human blood and I didn't want to have anyone else avoiding me.”
Steve sputters around his granola bar. “You were avoiding me,” he says indignantly.
Eddie’s hand comes up to rub at the back of his neck. He says defensively, “Yeah, because you looked like being in the same room as me was physically painful for you. So I wanted to give you space. And then you stopped showing up altogether which made me feel even worse about this whole situation.”
Steve sets the wrapper of the granola bar down on Eddie’s nightstand. “I was feeling awkward, which I think was obvious. And it seemed like you didn't want me near you, which made it more awkward for me. That's why I stopped showing up.”
Eddie crosses the room and sits down on the bed, a healthy distance between them still. “So we’ve been avoiding each other, thinking we both don't want to be around each other?” he asks, something close to hope blooming in his chest.
“I don't not want to be around you,” Steve says, and then furrows his eyebrows. “I don't know if that double negative worked there. I, I want to be around you still.” He breathes out a shaky breath, like he was afraid of the words leaving his lips.
The hope in Eddie’s chest burns bright for the first time in weeks. “I want to be around you too. I didn't realize it wasn't obvious. Your blood is like, maybe the best thing I’ve ever tasted. And I don't want to burden you with, or bully you into, being my personal meal. So I kind of freaked out about, you know, many things and it spiraled. To answer your question.”
Steve nods, drawing his knees up to his chest. “I don't think you could bully me even if you tried,” he says, a tentative smile pulling at the corners of his mouth.
“Yeah, yeah, super jock, you could beat me to a pulp without even trying, I get it,” he jokes, looking over at Steve where he’s opening up a second granola bar. “I’m sorry I let things get so bad. I’ll drink animal blood again if you don't want me to drink from you. I was just being stubborn and then it was a matter of my pride when Dustin brought me food. I won't let it get like that again.”
Steve nods. “You really scared him. And me. I don't want you to have to drink from animals if it’s, like, gross for you. You can drink from me. We’ll figure it out together,” he says before drinking the rest of the water in his cup.
“Okay,” Eddie whispers back.
He’s feeling better, from eating for the first time in week, but also because of this- sitting here with Steve, watching over him as the flush on his cheeks settles down and as he regains his strength.
He thinks they’ll be okay.
They're in this together, it seems. They’ll figure it out together, even if they want different things. Even if Steve is only doing this because he’s a good friend. Even if Steve is only doing this so that Eddie will stay alive, because Eddie’s apparently dramatic enough to let himself waste away if he can't have Steve's blood.
So they’ll figure it out, together.
