I didn't watch the presidential "debate" between Trump and vice president Kamala Harris because fuck having to listen to Trump's bullshit (Trump embodies everything that is wrong and objectionable and morally odious about the United States). What I missed were assertions from Trump that "illegal aliens" are "eating people's pets" and that Harris wants to, and I quote, perform "transgender operations on illegal aliens in prisons". I mean, wtf people? The Democrats have their problems and those problems are numerous but they pale in comparison to the insanity that is the contemporary Republican party with its overt hostility to democratic norms, its push to craft a politics of minority rule (safeguarding the reign of white supremacy to put it bluntly), and it's effort to shear away at the wall between church and state in order to usher in its particular version of Christian nationalism (in direct contradiction to one of the fundamental beliefs held by the countries founders, namely, that the state IS NOT the church and vice versa). I'm not in the mood to write an elegant, prolonged and detailed treatise here when my original intention was just to share a meme I appropriated. In short, fuck Trump and all he represents. Go vote. Don't vote for Republicans. Join organizations working to achieve goals you want to see reached. Take to the streets. Hold politicians accountable. Volunteer somewhere. Lean out your window and scream, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore." Just do something because the people who want to do you harm and who celebrate and revel in your suffering certainly are out there doing something. I firmly believe that there are more of us than there are of them; relatively decent, empathetic people who want to promote a society that assists each of its citizens to flourish in their "life, liberty, and the pursuit for happiness."

A lil bit of lore below the cut.

In my little continuity, the Primes were indeed Primus's firstborn, but they were made from the suffering of their maker as he fought to survive. The Titans though? They were born to give life, made to spread Primus's gifts to all creation. As such, they are naturally gentle and inherently incapable of violence.

They will not fight back if attacked, nor will they rise to the defense of their citizens (although they will provide weaponry and protection in the form of walls and the like). They cannot even comprehend why one would hurt another outside of the natural order of things. It is to the point where those who care for the remaining Titans have labeled them as having the cognitive capabilities of newbuilds. For all their age and wisdom, Titans are, at their core, the only entities in the universe to maintain a sense of innocence all throughout their lives. They hold no anger, no bitterness, and no grudges. Everything, in their optics, will play out as it should.

As such, the Titans have always had guardians to protect them from a reality that would seek to crush them into dust. During the first age, the Primes filled this role. In the modern era, seekers of Vos have taken on the mantle, guarding and speaking on the behalf of the three remaining Titans on Cybertron.

i think there should come a point when yor has had enough of yuri's nagging about loid and says something like "HE MAKES ME HAPPY YURI"

after which point yuri slowly and begrudgingly begins to see the value loid has brought to yor's life, and even if he is still snippy and overprotective, he begins to open up the slightest bit. eventually during a 1:1 conversation he admits to loid that he's only overly critical bc he can't bear the thought of someone hurting the person who gave up everything for him, etc etc

and THAT is when loid feels real guilt for the first time. we already know from passing thoughts that he plans to leave the forgers after the mission is over, and sometimes he has his reservations and moments of 'i'm a hypocrite', but this is when he's truly like shit. Shit. I finally won yuri over but it was better when he hated me because i do not deserve to have this kid telling me that i am worth his sister because i'm not. he was right, i am just gonna hurt her all over again.
