Eh, I'm not super well versed on them these days because I mostly use them to respond to notifications, post and disappear, plus I have notifications filtered everywhere so I don't keep track of engagement. ESPECIALLY with bluesky, I've never even opened the general timeline there 😅

Twitter is still my favourite social media and the one I use more seamlessly. I think I see value in it because it's not primarily meant for visual posts and there's people from a bunch of different fields and industries engaging with whatever all at once, plus the line between commenting on a post and making a post yourself is blurred which gives for some funny interactions. It used to intimidate me but now I'm just chilling.

Bluesky I guess is supposed to be the same thing? But I can't bring myself to engage with it idk. Back when it started I could see that the most active people there were the ones actively hating twitter, while.. doing the exact same things on bluesky they did on twitter 🤷‍♂️ so I think Elon Musk aside it's basically the same thing with less users.

I used to be big on instagram but basically stopped using it when they introduced reels, now I just post and disappear. I hate that they couldn't just leave it simple and uncluttered and the fact that reels became so popular pissed me off lmao.

Tiktok is a tricky one for me because I go "viral" easily there and it's my biggest platform BUT it's very addicting and you sorta have to scroll through the main page to find content to make + a lot of the time you need to make content specifically for it. Which is a time sink for me in a lot of ways :') I tend to open it every other month to maybe post something then ghost again

Tumblr is... fine? Idk tumblr definitely feels like both the most useless and the easiest social media to use. Useless in the sense that I never expect anything that happens on tumblr to materialise into anything outside of it. Easiest in the sense that it's just chill for me to post and engage with what people send me without needing to think about it too hard. Trying to get original content to take off here was in vain but fanart does particularly well as expected.. which means it only started being fun for me when I got into BG3 as I'd never been in a fandom before lmao. I like that, just like twitter, it's not only for visual posts, but get overwhelmed at the idea of blogs and formatting and sorting posts, so I only use it barebones and tend to not engage with the main page/timeline either

Engagement-wise, I honestly couldn't tell ya. I think that comes down to you paying attention to each social media's trends and how people interact with it. Personally I'm (very luckily) at a stage where 99% of the time I don't care about whether a post makes numbers or flops, and my platforms are big enough that if I REALLY needed something to do well I could probably find a way to make it loud enough so yknow

What are your thoughts on peafowl being in zoos? I've gotten super into your blog lately and it made me learn a whole bunch about peafowl I never really knew about but learning about how much space peafowl need and how they can get stressed due to environments made me wonder about the ethics of them being in zoos? Them being around stuff like tigers, lions, bears (even if separated) and on paths with 100s of people daily can't be the most relaxing for them, right?

I actually believe I answered this once before. It's a grey area. The birds (at least in my local zoo) receive bands and medical attention as needed, and I've seen evidence of them being weighed and stuff at other zoos. I know that if they are having a problem, there's a vet on staff that will see to them. That's honestly better than 85% of keepers out there, who will watch a bird's health tank and refuse to take it to a vet while trawling facebook for medical advice that is super wrong and just kills the bird faster.

I also know that they do get killed sometimes. I haven't heard specifically of other zoo animals doing so, but I have heard of carcasses being found when things like raccoons get into the zoo. They're free range in the zoos that have them, and that comes with all the same dangers as free ranging normally does.

The people factor is fairly negligible in this setting- the birds raised on the grounds are going to be used to seeing loads of people, and so they're not typically going to stress about that the way a home bird would if you tossed them into the same situation. Since they're still fully flighted and quite fast at running, they're able to excuse themselves if they don't like the situation they're in.

Unfortunately, they're fully flighted, and that means sometimes they leave the zoo and end up being a nuisance locally, as well as getting into trouble with eating things they shouldn't and being in dangerous situations (like traffic). They also have the ability to interact with the public, which means a) plenty of opportunity to be given things to eat that are absolutely not for peafowl, b) free access to trash on the ground that they may decide is food even if it's not directly given to them, and c) the potential for injury to the public, if a bird is TOO used to humans and gets annoyed and flogs someone.

So in all, I don't really care for it. I like that people get to see them, I am excited any time I see one, but if a zoo wants to keep them, then they should be enclosed where they can live in actual safety- and zoo-goers can be safe from them as well.

The USDA actually just enacted some new regulations that are kind of a pain in the ass for anyone breeding pet birds (thankfully peafowl fall under agricultural stock), but the regulations cover "exhibition" birds, including shows and exhibits like at a zoo- and "exhibits" covers any bird that is accessible to public view, so I kind of hope it curbs the free roaming peafowl trend at zoos.

First off, the simple chronological answer: breeding is my biggest kink, and trans guys / transmasc NBs are a force on breeding kink Tumblr + the other site. There's a ton of blogs and they often have a lot of intense, personal, original content - so I started following a bunch of them and things developed from there.

The games that are canon to Laser's life are Ruby, Platinum, SoulSilver, and Black! I'm definitely counting other games as having 'happened' but Laser did not live through them, and only sort of knows what went down.

Laser has defeated the Elite 4 in those games, but takes pains to disguise itself in each new region it takes the challenge in, to avoid too much publicity. However, after beating the league, it doesn't care to maintain the disguise, leading to being kind of a famous cryptid type character.

Because of this, it will be cagey about its life, but may let things slip accidentally!

As a side note, I want to play the emotional ramifications of the events of those games somewhat seriously! Laser was in therapy for a good long while, both because of said events and also a tragedy that occurred at some point which it was struggling to cope with.

How can I live like before tiktok / influencers (like current-day ones), bizarre trends and oversharing on the internet was a thing like pre-2014. Social media was just starting out then and things were far less weird unless they were on, like, livejournal or tumblr. People openly OVERSHARE now online, film everything in public and strangers, make bizarre content for ads and their personal brands, and it's like there's no divide at all. People can act like weirdos online and no one bats an eye anymore. For the most part, social media was kind of just normal back before all this. You'd post a photo, see your friends' photos, maybe some funny tweets, and that's it (in typically NORMAL spaces at least). Is deleting my tiktok the answer? Deleting all social media and being on my phone less? I don't have FOMO, I just feel isolated because EVERYONE is always on their phones, ffs. Is there an answer to this? I just want to go back to a normal life again before all these micro-trends, bizarre content, and strange ads etc. before I get anymore immune to it. It's to the point where I watch movies now from like 2014 (I time I lived through) and go, "I miss those days." Like??? Do you also feel this way sometimes or know if it's common? I'd love any advice / help. Thank you bunches.

I do definitely feel this way, and I think a lot of other people share that feeling, as well. There's even a name for what's happened to the internet recently- it's called "enshittification".

As for what to do about it, I think instead of asking "how can I live like before social media" a better question might be "what do I wish I was doing instead?" In general, quitting things is really hard, and it's even harder to quit things when everyone around you is doing them. It's much easier to replace them with something else that's enjoyable and meaningful to you. Maybe that means joining more in-person activities, like an art class or cooking class, sports team, volunteer group, religious organization, or some other kind of club/group. For me, I joined a service that sends me on a surprise real-world activity once a month, and even that has done a lot for my feeling of being present in the real world. (If you follow my Instagram, you might have seen the one for this month- it was a pottery class I went to this morning!)

Maybe replacing social media means figuring out which hobbies you'd like to pursue on your own and putting more time into those- reading, making art or crafts, playing video games, whatever feels exciting to you. For me, writing this blog is one way that I replace mindless scrolling on social media, as is going to real-world meetups, doing interior decorating projects at my house, and doing craft projects.

Or maybe replacing social media just means installing a bunch of ad blockers and aggressively curating your social media experience so that you only see the types of content that feel like they're contributing to your life. You could even unfollow everyone except for people that you know personally. I've curated my social media this aggressively, especially on TikTok, and now most of the content I see there is academics talking about their work, people talking about interior decorating, people putting together outfits, and daily vlogs. This is hard, though, because you have to be super liberal with the "not interested" button, and you have to be able to realize when the algorithm is trying to push you down a rabbit hole of outrage.

In general, I think the more time we spend offline and the more we interact with people who aren't chronically online, the less chaotic the world feels and the easier it becomes to realize that social media isn't real life. A lot of the phenomena that seem so common when you spend a lot of time online are totally foreign to people who don't spend a lot of time online, and I think having that perspective can be really helpful.

I did, and it's the second almost identical one ive gotten in the last few months, also by an account that only existed for one day before posting the help request (who had never interacted with my blog before, either).... basically, this is 100% a scam.

They ask you to reblog their post *but not answer their ask* so that anyone who follows you thinks that you know this person is legitimate (which is exactly the opposite of the real situation). They ask you to use 'friends and family' on PayPal so you can't get your money back if you figure out it's a scam (always be suspicious of people who do this!)

Where is ____ fic? Why can’t I see it anymore?

Because of reports of AI scraping AO3 works, I’ve locked down a lot of my fics. This means that you need to be logged into an AO3 account to view the fics.

If you’re logged in and you still can’t see it, I might’ve hidden it. Sometimes fics get too much attention or I really don’t like them anymore so I put them in time out (a private collection). They’re not deleted off the archive, but only I am able to view them. I have the option to restore them but may not. It just depends.

Why can’t I comment on some of your fics on AO3?

Some fics on there were magnets for comments that upset me. I turned those off, and then realized I was happier and less stressed out when most of the comments for my fics were off. I left the fics themselves up there because I still want people to be able to enjoy them, but if the comments are turned off it just means its easier for me to not have to think about that particular fic.

I tried to put one of your fics in a collection and you rejected it. Why?

Collections are designed for moderated events like big bangs etc., not necessarily personal collections of fics (that’s what the bookmark function is more designed for). So it gives collection owners a lot more privilege over the fics than they should have unless they are intending to use the collection for an event. I have seen authors have hugely popular fics get privated bc they allowed them into collections where the owners didn’t realize that their settings affected the visibility of the fic, which is why I always reject the request!

Why don’t you talk about PJO anymore? Did something big happen?

Nope! Just lost interest and was not enjoying my interactions within the fandom. There was no big dramatic event that made me leave. If anything, it was just a lot of small things over a long period of time that were making me unhappy. When I turned the comments off on most of my PJO fics, I realized I was a lot happier and less stressed out and that made me realize it was better for me to just not interact with the fandom anymore.

Why don't you answer asks about PJO?

90% of the questions I get are answered here, and whenever I answer one it spurs a bunch of people sending more asks with basically the same questions and it's just a mess. I just ask everyone to respect the fact that I don't really want to talk about it anymore.

Do you hate PJO now?

No. I’m still proud of the fics I wrote for PJO but I’m not interested in engaging with the fandom anymore for the above reasons.

Are you ever going to write for PJO again?

Carrie and I have some plans for NSWD that we hope to follow through on. That is the only writing I plan to do for the fandom again.

Why is your blog minors DNI?

I’m in my 20s and I write mature and explicit content. I also reblog mature and explicit content. Also I tend to find that minors are on a different vibe than I am (which there is nothing wrong with!) but it’s not the energy I’m trying to engage with on here. Ty for understanding <3

Keep going, I was just speculating. Anyway, PR stands for Public Relations, and what people like moi do is try to present a good, positive image of the company and its members, and also, through media and connecting with other businesses, good relations with the public. Hence the name!

There's actually many different types of PR because of the many different groups a company has to interact with, but to keep it short and sweet, I mainly specialize in media relations. Hence my idea for Clay's little blog here so you could get to know him better!

That's her main wheelhouse anyway. She does keep 'n eye on the other branches a' PR, like government relations, investors relations, an' so forth, but she's best with media so we also have specialists there ta maintain those.

I’m going anon cause I don’t want to get harassed on my main blog for what I’m gonna ask here. Why is it so important to know if two celebrities are dating? I love Shayne and Courtney but I don’t ship them or any other real people cause to me it feels invasive, but I kinda would like to know what goes through fans who do need this kind of go out of their way to confirm that they are right. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really affect us and it probably makes the cast be overly cautious of what they post in fear of being misinterpreted or getting their actual relationship outed when they aren’t ready for it to go fully public.

Hey! it’s chill here. Most of the ask here is anon anyway. Let me start by explain a bit of myself first:

So I'm super recently know Smosh and both Courtney & Shayne. (I'll called them C & S) My first exposure to Smosh is on TNTL#106 (Released on Oct 26th 2022) because of Funhaus collab. Which I watched them regularly.

After that, I start watching others Funhaus collab and saw both C & S and instantly found that they have a very unique chemistry. So I decided to explore further more and start falling in love with them. At first, I thought that they're already couple until I found "Sucks At Dating" video series that make me realized they're singles back then. lmao

Then, I start follow C & S on their social to get to know them better and saw that C has YouTube channel and just restart posting vlog after 3 years hiatus. Of course I jump in and watch. After watching S's TikTok and C's vlog, I start seeing the same room all over their video. That's when I first realized that Shourtney might be real.

Let's explain the origin of proof post. I'm mostly using Tumblr as my fandom expression. When I arrived here, Shourtney tag is basically a graveyard. Not a lot of people rarely using it anymore. So I decided to create the post after I saw that Tumblr post:

At first, the post is just this photo and bunch of things that I noticed in their video. But somehow there's still people checking Shourtney tag and found my post. They start sending me to fans IG that post even more proof and stuff. (Which from my standpoint, I really don't like that they put it there because both C & S used IG regularly.) Then it became what the post is today. Which I will ONLY posting the photo or video that they're will to share.

Q: Why is it so important to know if two celebrities are dating?

A: So, after spending time in this fandom. A lot of people here just loved their chemistry and their interaction together and want them to be happy. But in the back of our mind, if they're not dating we should respect their decision and just appreciated those moment that we can see in the video. So when we finally know that they're really dating, we just happy that they're happy and looking for more thing that they're willing to share with us. (Which they recently do btw)

Q: I love Shayne and Courtney but I don’t ship them or any other real people cause to me it feels invasive.

A: Yeah at first we don't really do shipping because real people shipping is MOSTLY IMPOSSIBLE to happen and we want to respect them. But if you watch old SmoshCast. There's a discussion about Shourtney shipping that they talk about. Synopsis is below:

They basically doesn't care if anyone ship them and C was also in shipping situation also. Also, if you're watching C anon Q&A that just released recently. She answered the question that is Shourtney fans annoyed her or not. Which she answer that it's not. (There's also a comment about cyberstalking which happened before my time here. I can do some recap from what I know if anyone interested.)

A: After spending time in the fandom, you will find people who love Shourtney but they don't know that it's real and I hope my post can be of help in this fandom.

Btw, there's also a Shourtney denier. Which they cannot accept that they're really together. They lurked around social and try to shutdown the discussion about them. Even if they start not hiding anything anymore.

Also, they start to don't give a fuck about sharing now. Like last 2-3 weeks. She started posting their selfie like 2-3 photos in the photo dump and another double date selfie with Shelby and her boyfriend. If you look back to last year. You will NEVER see this kind of content from them ever.

Finally, If you watch her community Q&A. There's a question about if she's willing to share her dating life or not. She answered that she's mostly an open book but right now she's on her own pace and everything that she post is for the reason. So you can get that she start to get comfortable to share with us now.

What is the muse that you write for the longest?

By most definitions this would be Wylan, as he was my first OC and he is over here on tumblr. But to give a different answer, we'll go with my OC Zeyrfial. Why? Because he was the first character I added to my first tumblr RP blog! In fact, my first url when I began on here was just-beyond-the-mist in reference to his mist-aligned abilities!

Sadly, he got little traction outside of fantastic interactions with both my wife and my friend Abby. I have no intentions of retiring him, but it's a shame that his peculiarities make him difficult to interact with for most people. Same case with my other OCs. They're not widely appealing or are too overpowered (for me).

Good times though. Love this guy.

Do you have developed dynamics with the OC of another mun that has influenced your OC or Canon muse?

Bird ( @sabuleum / currently most active on @mielmoto ) has had an unmistakable influence on Wylan's fantasy verses. It's to the point that, like they've done, Wylan and Emke have this unforgettable link between the two of them. I've rewritten his backstory because of Emke and frankly? His modern verse has had a tuning as well because of the interactions he had with their other OC, Mari.

I could not be happier or luckier to have met a writing partner quite like them. That Wylan has had an effect back on them in turn feels like a joke if it weren't something I'm honored by. All my blogs have been marked one way or another, and muses too. I would put a dozen chefkiss emojis here if I could.

What are things that you don’t wish to see on here?

Tides are changing on this website. I know it. So do many other people. But some blogs have turned to being more about commentary on what's happening in private discord servers than they are for writing here. I'm not a big fan of that.

Is part of my distaste from FOMO? Yeah. But it's a strange disconnect that I'm not good at keeping up with. So personally I don't care to see it. Power to people who can write on discord! But I lament those who no longer focus effort on writing in public spaces or long form as a result.

What do you think can happen if let's say Wakana exit Space Craft? I want to see Wakana appear on YK events, but I have doubts about their relation. Maybe you have more insights about Wakana and YK's relationship. From my amateur observation I see that YK doesn't follow Wakana on Twitter, so I think they are not on good terms. The thing is, YK follows people like Lisa, Aimer, Junna etc who she just recently work with. She doesn't follow Wakana who she had been working since forever, why is that?

Hello there anon! I am afraid you've hit a sore spot with your ask...I really don't mean to come off as rude but I am so tired of these specific questions. Why is it that I keep getting them on a regular basis? Have you all been living under a freaking rock for the past five years? Are you on my blog for the first time? Is no one bothering to check out my extensive coverage of this topic? Don't get me wrong, I am always happy to answer questions and to help fellow fans out but I'd appreciate it if people actually invested some time to do a tiny bit of research. I've talked ad nauseam about the whole situation with Space Craft/Wakana vs. YK so there is more than enough reading material to satisfy your curiosity. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, it all boils down to Japanese society being very non-confrontational. Instead of dealing with conflicts like sensible adults, issues are simply swept under the rug and everyone just pretends they do not exist. It’s all about keeping up appearances and not losing face. The fragile sensibilities of old men with outdated mindsets are put above everything else because those men continue to hold power and make decisions in Japan. The infamous herd-mentality forces everyone else involved to just ignore common sense and roll with it.

Basically, this all started with a bunch of old dudes in Space Craft’s management being butt-hurt about stupid stuff. One of those old guys (Yasunori Mori - who happened to be in charge of YK’s and Kalafina’s management) decided to abandon the agency and out of loyalty, YK left with him to join him at his new agency. The rest is history as they say. You have to take into account that lifetime loyalty is still very much a common thing in Japan. So when people decide to leave, it can easily be seen as a form of treachery, especially if it isn’t a consensual agreement. We don’t know any of the details of course but it is obvious that some sort of incident has resulted in a rift between Space Craft and Mori/YK.

Seeing as Wakana is still signed up with Space Craft, it would be beyond improper for her to publicly associate with anyone from the YK family and vice versa. I would assume there is some sort of non-interaction clause in Wakana’s contract, or at the very least, some unwritten rule to not openly engage with any of them. I know from an outsider’s point of view, this might come across as grade-school level pettiness but this is literally the reality in Japan. As I said, it’s all about not losing face and protecting fragile sensibilities. For this exact reason, it was possible for Haruna Luna to publicly attend YKs live as soon as her departure from Space Craft had been announced.

Now, we must not conflate public displays with actual relationships. What is being presented to us via official channels is merely a contrived act to keep up appearances. None of this reflects how Wakana and the YK family really feel about each other. It’s true, they don’t follow each other on social media accounts, they don’t openly support each other, there are no pictures of them together, etc...But if you follow any of them closely or just check my blog on a regular basis, you will realise that you can’t just take everything at face value. You have to pay attention to their less official interviews, posts and appearances! You will quickly notice that they still refer to each other with fondness and respect. There is no doubt in my mind that when Wakana finally decides to leave Space Craft behind, she would be welcomed back with open arms into the YK family. Not that she would actually have to be “welcomed back” because let’s be real here, in everyone’s mind she is most definitely still considered an important member. But you know, as far as public appearance is concerned, it would seem like Wakana was the lost daughter returning. On a side note, YK has made no secret of the fact that Wakana has always been one of her biggest muses so I am sure she would be thrilled to work with her again (in whatever capacity).
