Robin is a unique thing only to Dick. So Lark is the mantle's name! The Lark name was given to Duke by Batman. The name itself is based off of one of Bruce's hallucinations.

Duke would adopt the name Flamebird instead of Nightwing. Cause y'know... Signal. When he adopts the name he would start going out in the day instead (back when he was Lark, he went out at night).

Steph goes from Batgirl to Oracle. Self explanatory. She does not have a romantic relationship with Duke btw lmao. She's young enough to the point she and Tim have had a relationship.

Cass is never Batgirl here. When Bruce adopts Tim, she switches to Black Lark voluntarily. She thinks she's funny. It's similar to Tim and Damian's thing, but the execution is different (like Robin to Red Robin).

Tim was Spoiler first, then went by Lark when Bruce adopted him, then went back to Spoiler when Jason came into play (still not too sure if i should make him go back to Spoiler or give him another name).

I'm still not too sure about Jason going by Black Bat.

Barbara is Batgirl. Self explanatory.

Dick goes by Robin because that's what his mom used to call him.

I'm still workshopping the timeline so things may change.

Batfamily Headcanons - 5

-Their accents are soo different from each other, Alfred speaks with a slight English accent. Bruce, Dick, Barbara, and Tim speak with a slight Gotham accent. But Jason and Stephanie's Gotham accent are thicker than the others, and their accent automatically gets, even more, thicker when they are angry. Lastly, Cassandra and Damian, their accents are soo complicated because while they growing up they spoke different languages with different accents, I mean while they were in League, Cassandra, and Damian spoke Chinese, and personally, Damian spoke Arabic, so of course, it did affect their accent.

-They like to do activities/sports together, and of course, there are their special ones. So let's start...

Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian all like to play basketball together, and they are really good at it, they play it at least once a week and it's one of their favorite time of the week. They also like hiking together sooo sooo much. It helps them to relax, at least for a day. Bruce likes to play chess with them too, and he always beats them.

Without Bruce, the boys like to play bowling and billiards together.

Dick and Jason, especially, like to play darts together. While they went to drink they always find their selfs playing darts.

Dick and Tim like to cycle, they always ride to the city center and drink some coffee or eat some dessert.

Dick and Damian like to do acrobatics, they like to warm up together and do some acrobatic challenges.

Jason and Tim like to do winter sports, like skiing, snowboarding, and skating. Winter is their season.

Jason and Damian got a lot in common, they like riding horses, swimming, diving, and surfing together. Soo, summer is their season.

Tim and Damian like to skateboard together, they even race sometimes. Gotham got sick places to skate and race.

-The family, mostly, stays and live in Gotham, yes, but they love going to Bludhaven. That city is like a small Gotham but only less dangerous and less noisy. They like that part of Blud, also Dick mostly lives there, and they like going to Dick's apartment and hang out there, for days.

-About Housing;

Everyone got Wayne Manor, but only Bruce and Alfred live there, the others are mostly just long-standing guests.

Dick got two apartments, one in Gotham center and one in Bludhaven. So he just comes to the manor for family time and business.

Jason got one apartment in Gotham. But in his 30-40's he also buys a farm outside of Gotham, and he lives there with his animals.

Tim's housing is a little complicated, he got his dead family's house and Wayne Manor, but does he always live in these places? No, not always, sometimes he stays in Dick's apartment in Gotham, and Stephanie joins him whenever she wants to. Btw Tim stays there because Dick is not in Gotham, so someone needs to watch over the apartment, and he loves to spend time alone. But again, when he is like 25-30 he buys another apartment too, which he shares with Stephanie.

Damian got a lot of housing, and the first one is obviously Wayne Manor. Until 15 he normally stayed there but then he started to stay at different places, like, he was staying in Jason for one week, and then he was going to Tim for another week, and if he wants to, he was going to Dick, to Bludhaven. Lastly, sometimes he was going to Titan Tower, only if he misses the Tower and the city. Btw again when he is 19 he buys an apartment in Gotham. Yes, at age 19...

Stephanie got her mother's apartment, she does not stay there all the time, but she still spends a lot of time there, and she got an apartment in Gotham which she shares with Barbara and Cass. She mostly stays there.

Cassandra only got the house she shares with Barbara and Stephanie. She mostly stays there as she likes to spend time alone.

Barbara first got his father's apartment and the apartment she share with Cass and Stephanie.

-Most of the fam works for Wayne Enterprises.

Dick works for the Entertainment branch.

Jason works for the FoxTech branch.

Tim works for the Technologie branch.

Damian works for the Biotech branch. (after he went to college and everything)

-About Food;

Damian is not vegan or vegetarian. He just likes vegetables, fruits, and legumes more, so he eats them more than animal products, I mean, he eats egg, honey, and milk products too, but only once or twice a week, yet he does not eat meat and poultry that much, only oncerob or twice a month, also he hates fish/seafood. It makes him want to puke.

Bruce is not a picky eater, and he always eats a balanced diet. He loves meat, and vegetables the most, but poultry is not kinda his thing. He would rather have a good broccoli salad over a chicken salad. And he is a soup lover, any kind of soup, it does not matter to him. Lastly, he loves fish/seafood, but only if Alfred or a really good chef makes it. If it is made badly, it makes him want to puke too.

Dick is not picky either, but he does not like very spicy food, and he got a lactose intolerance. Fast food is his favorite kind of food.

Jason is a chef himself, and he got good taste in food. He tries to eat a little of everything. Mostly he cooks for himself, even if he is in Wayne Manor. He is crazy about meat and vegetables, especially mushrooms and potatoes.

Tim is a picky eater. He hates most vegetables, fish/seafood, lettuce, and black olives. He can not eat egg yolk or many types of cheese. He loves noddle, pasta, potatoes, croissant, and poultry tho.

also, I included Cass, Steph, Jason and Duke because even though they're not in the dcamu or young justice tv show (well, they are but we haven't seen much of them as people yet) and I haven't read many of the comics (basically none), I included them because I know what their stories are and I know their personalities. I originally thought about leaving them out but it felt wrong and very dry since they bring a lot of personality.

"Damian?" You asked, looking at your boyfriend whose head laid in the crook of your neck.

"Yes, Beloved?" He asked, pulling his eyes off the movie on the TV in front of you and lifting his head to turn his attention to you.

"Am I ever gonna get to meet your family?" You asked quietly, the noise from the movie drowning out as you looked into each other's eyes.

"What?" Damian breathed out. Although you had been together for almost a year, Damian had no intention of introducing you to his family any time soon.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to be pushy, it's just...well, it'd be nice to meet the other people in your life. If you don't want me to, it's okay." You smiled at him and Damian sighed before beginning his explanation.

"Initially, I didn't want you to meet my family because they are rather...strange." Damian started.

"I was afraid that they'd scare you off, so I put it aside. Of course, I knew it would have to happen someday, but I forgot about it. I wanted you to myself for a little bit longer." Damian said, and you chuckled at his confession.

"Even if your family hates me, I'm not gonna leave you." You grinned.

"They won't hate you, Beloved. I don't think anyone could." Damian smirked.

"Yeah right." You rolled your eyes.

"As of right now, my family doesn't know you exist. Maybe I could introduce you slowly." Damian said.

"What is that supposed to mean?" You grinned.

"You'll see."

"Oh hey, Demon's back. Where've you been?" Jason asked as Damian entered the living room after returning from your place. Jason and Steph sat around the coffee table while Tim and Duke packed up some Uno cards, deeming the game too dangerous to play in their household.

"Out." Damian said simply. Usually, when his family asked where he had gone after visiting you, he would tell a convincing lie. A vague answer like this, however, might give them a hint about his lover.

"Out doing what?" Tim asked.

"None of your concern, Drake." He said, slumping on the couch and petting Titus with his right hand.

Cass entered the room and as she sat down, noticed the rings on Damian's right hand. Three silver rings with simple but pretty designs on them. Two were stacked on his middle finger while the third sat on his ring finger. Cass stared at them, only stopping when Damian spoke.

"Something wrong?" Damian asked, looking at Cass.

"You wear rings?" She asked, making the other three in the room direct their attention to the jewellery Damian was wearing.

"Wow, I didn't even notice. And they're nice too, I didn't think you had taste." Steph said.

"I didn't think you owned any jewellery." Jason shrugged.

"I've had them for a while. They were a gift." Damian said. You had given him the rings a long time ago, actually. A few months into your relationship, Damian's birthday came up. You saw them and thought they would look nice on him, so that's what you got him (amongst other things). The blush on his face when you flat out told him that you thought they'd look very pretty on him was prominent and adorable, you have never let it go.

Normally, he'd take the rings off and hide them in a drawer or coat pocket when he was with his family, but when he was with you or alone, he wouldn't care who was looking.

"A gift from who?" Duke asked.

"Again, none of your concern." Damian said.

"What are we talking about?" Dick asked as he and Barbara entered the room.

"Damian's hiding something." Steph said.

"What, did he kill someone?" Barbara asked casually.

"No, I didn't. I simply got home and they started pestering me with questions." Damian glared at Jason, Tim, Steph and Cass.

"Got home from where?" Dick asked.

"That's what we wanna know!" Jason said. Damian groaned and started walking towards the stairs, Titus trailing behind him.

"Hey, where're you going?" Dick asked.

"To my room. Will you all stop asking questions?" Damian folded his arms.

"We would if you gave us an answer!" Tim said.

"You know you can tell us anything, right?" Dick asked, looking at him with sincerity in his eyes.

"Right." Damian just nodded and deadpanned at Dick, raising his eyebrows as if to say "whatever" and then disappearing up the stairs.

Damian kept dropping subtle hints that something was up (well, really he just stopped being so careful about hiding your relationship). The Batfamily was frazzled. First, it was just the people who were there in the living room, but that soon extended to Bruce and even Alfred, partially.

"What is he up t--?" Tim stopped himself when he heard Damian's voice. Everyone except him were gathered in the living room, presenting their theories and evidence on Damian's big mystery while Alfred made cookies and pitched in occasionally.

"What else did you find?" Damian asked, holding his phone in front of him and talking to someone the others currently couldn't see on FaceTime.

"Oh god, this one is bad! People think you're Batman!" The unknown person laughed on the other end of the phone - that unknown person being you.

"Well that's a ridiculous notion." Damian said, trying to hide the smile on his face which didn't go unnoticed by everyone intensely examining him as he walked straight past them, towards the kitchen, and grabbed a cookie, nodding at Alfred in silent gratitude. Damian paid them no mind, focusing on you.

"Right? You're way too tiny to be Batman." You chuckled, making Damian frown and glare at you through the phone.

"That's-- you're being intentionally unpleasant, aren't you." Damian narrowed his eyes at you.

"Joking about your height is just too fun, Dames, I'm sorry." You giggled. Everyone perked up at that - who on this earth is allowed to call Damian Wayne "Dames"?

"That's a lie. You're not sorry." Damian said, beginning to smile a little at your laughter.

"You've grown three inches in four years!" You laughed.

"Four inches, actually." Damian grumbled.

"Oh, my apologies, Damian. Forgive me for my grave error." You said dramatically.

"Wait, you have a cookie? Can I have some?" You asked.

"Of course, I'll just pass it through the screen or zeta-tube it to your home." Damian said sarcastically.

"Asshole." You grumbled.

"What was that?" Damian asked, in a slightly teasing tone. Everyone just stared at Damian in surprise, except for Alfred, who seemed to know something no one else did.

"You heard me, Wayne." You grinned, continuing the conversation as Damian walked back upstairs without giving his family so much asa glance.

"Wh-what was that?" Tim asked.

"Damian has...friends?" Duke wondered aloud.

"One friend. Singular. Don't give him too much credit." Jason said.

"Okay, has anyone ever seen that person before?" Dick asked, and everyone shook their heads. Dick ran a hand through his hair and sighed.

"Why would he hide his friend from us?" Dick asked.

"Because we would tease him and pester his friend." Barbara said.

"Well, yeah but that's just normal stuff - everyone does that. Besides, if it's just his friend we wouldn't be too annoying about it." Tim said.

"Maybe they're more than a friend?" Bruce offered, and there was a short silence before everyone burst into laughter.

"Are you serious, Bruce? This is Damian we're talking about." Jason laughed.

"Yeah. You're his father, don't you know that Damian has no interest in romance, like, at all?" Steph giggled.

"He's eighteen, I'm sure he's at least thought about it." Bruce said.

"He has. He doesn't like it." Cass said.

"Yeah, he thinks it's a waste of time. It's Damian - he likes fighting, animals and insulting other people." Barbara said.

"Mostly Drake." Damian added, entering the room without his phone this time.

"Are you planning a mission? What are you all discussing here?" Damian asked, when in reality, he had heard the whole thing. Yes, he may have thought romance was pointless in the past, but it became very difficult to ignore his uncontrollable feelings for you and he decided to give it a shot.

"Nothing, we just..." Barbara started, unsure of how to phrase what she wanted to say.

"We just wanna know what all that was about. Who was that?" Duke asked.

"Who?" Damian asked, playing dumb.

"Oh, come on, you know! The person you were just on the phone with." Dick sighed.

"(Y/N)?" Damian asked nonchalantly.

"You're on a first-name basis with them?" Duke mumbled.

"Damian, who are they?" Tim asked.

"It's not important." Damian said.

"Doesn't matter, we wanna know!" Jason said.

"Yeah, you were so...nice to them. It was unsettling. Are they your friend?" Steph asked.

Damian stayed quiet for a moment. Should he just tell them? He didn't know. Give it more time, maybe? But you've been together for so long, maybe it'll be fine if he just tells them.

"We're dating." He mumbled, but it was so quiet and rushed that the words were incomprehensible.

"Sorry, what?" Tim asked.

"I'm tired. I'm going to bed." Damian said, walking away quickly so they wouldn't see the red that began to tint his cheeks.

"Wait, Damian--!" He had already ran up the stairs and they heard his door close, meaning that they had done something wrong.

Damian flopped onto his bed and Titus curled up next to him, resting his head on his stomach in an act of comfort. Damian stroked his fur a couple of times, calming down a bit and then pulling out his phone to call you. You picked up almost instantly, smiling before seeing Damian's face. Although he rarely smiled, you could tell how he was feeling through the tiniest chmages in his usually stoic expression. His face was red and his eyebrows were slightly furrowed, making your eyes fill with concern.

"Dames? You okay?" You asked.

"I tried telling my family about you." He said, not bothering with any sort of preface.

"What happened?" You asked.

"It came out...quieter than I anticipated. And they didn't hear me. I didn't want to repeat it." Damian said.

"Hey, it's fine. It's overwhelming, I get it. I mean we've been together for a while. I was stressed telling my closest friends that I even had a boyfriend, and we were like three months in. It's okay." You smiled, and Damian ran a hand through his hair, nodding slightly.

"They kept asking so many questions after they saw me calling you." Damian said.

"Yeah, people do that. But they're not trying to be mean, you know? They're just curious. And maybe concerned, they're looking out for you." You said.

"Look, just forget about telling them for now, okay? It'll come naturally, there's no point forcing it." You reassured him.

"Okay." He replied, exhaling slowly.

"Okay, well, I should probably let you go to bed--"

"I'm not tired, stay for a little longer?" He pleaded, before realising what he had said and turning bright red.

"I-I mean, if you're tired--"

"I'm not tired either. Besides, I like talking to you." You smiled, before gladly taking all the stress and worry off of your lover's mind.

Damian sighed, standing off to a side of the large hall in a black three-piece suit with a freshly groomed Titus beside him. His father's galas were boring to him, and the only reason he showed up was to keep up appearances. The whole Wayne family had to be there, or the press would make some big scandal out of it.

But things were slightly different that night. As Damian scanned the room, he noticed that his siblings, father and friends were all together instead of in various areas of the hall, mingling with guests. Curious as to what they were all talking about, he approached them quietly. Before he could make his presence known, however, he recognised the back of someone and his eyebrows automatically furrowed as his hand went to tap their waist.

"Bel-- (Y/N)?" He asked, catching everyone's attention. He noticed how everyone was grinning or smirking at him, which unsettled him slightly.

"Damian!" You smiled, immediately wrapping your arms around him, prompting Dick, Barbara and Duke to chuckle quietly while Jason's eyes widened, Cass smiled even wider and Tim and Steph laughed loudly at the surprised and dumbfounded look in his face.

"What are you doing here?" Damian asked, not so subtly ogling you, which made Bruce grin along with his kids and their friends.

"Well, you were stressed out about telling your family about us, so...I told them for you. Is that okay?" You asked, looking at the floor in case you had made a mistake.

"Yes, that's-- I mean...of course, it's okay, I just-- what?" Damian stuttered out, before glaring at his amused family.

"You were worried about it. So I handled it. And now everything's fine." You smiled, ruffling his previously perfectly combed hair. He frowned slightly as he gently pulled your hand away from his hair and allowed it to drop, but he didn't let go of it. Instead, he stepped slightly closer to you and discreetly hid your intertwined fingers behind you both.

"How did you get here?" Damian asked, hoping his family doesn't notice the uncharacteristic affection he was displaying (but they did).

"You left your invitation to this event at my place. I was gonna return it, but then I thought that you wouldn't need it since the guy at the gate would recognise you, so I used it to get in and surprise you. Surprise." You smiled sheepishly, making Damian pinch the bridge of his nose with his free hand and sigh, but not without everyone noticing the small smile on his face at your antics.

"And what would you have done if I hadn't been let in?" Damian asked.

"Me? Nothing. You, on the other hand, would grab katana out of thin air and fight your way in, willingly ditch, or pull a Draco Malfoy and get you father to handle it, since he organised the event." You said. Damian, forgetting he was surrounded by people, chuckled with a genuine smile on his face, surprising his family even further.

"Y'know, I actually didn't believe you at first when you said you were dating Demon Spawn, but I do now." Jason folded his arms with a grin.

"Todd." Damian growled, smile immediately dropping.

"Oookay, it was nice meeting you all but I am going to pull Damian away before things get violent. Come on, Dames." You grinned, dragging your boyfriend to the opposite side of the room. He continued to glare at his family, who were clearly teasing him even from a distance.

"Damian?" You asked, drawing his attention away from them and to you.

"Beloved?" He replied.

"Don't get worked up over they're jokes, they're just having fun. I mean, it's the first time I'm at one of these galas with you, don't you wanna have some fun? Maybe a little bit of harmless trouble?" You grinned. Damian smiled slightly before disconnecting your hands and placing one of his on your waist while the other cupped your cheek. Surprised that he was willing to kiss you in public, your eyes widened. You were gonna be front page news if he actually did this. Screw telling his family, the whole world would know!

"Damian..." You said, tone becoming a little nervous but also excited as he leaned closer.

"Trust me." He mumbled, before pressing his lips to yours gently. He didn't do too much - you were in public, after all - but it was enough to make people start gasping and cameras start flashing.

When you pulled away, people were stealing not so discreet glances at the two of you, giving you small smiles and giggling at yours and Damian's flushed faces. You heard an older woman mumble the words "young love", almost in admiration of your relationship. The few paparazzi in the gala were rushing to the scene, but Damian just whisked you away to a private balcony that they couldn't follow you too.

"What was that?" You asked, smiling and chuckling breathily at your quick escape.

"Harmless trouble, right?"

Dragon Age: Absolution creator Mairghread Scott posted this update today on her website, Mairghread Scott Writes. It confirms Rezaren's surname as Ammosine (see source link, it's contained in an image caption) and mentions that the development of the show began in Spring 2019, when Mairghread pitched several ideas to BioWare and Netlix. Maighread says that the show has been a huge passion project for her, that to prepare she spent weeks immersed in DA lore, and that they wanted to make something fans could be proud of. She describes the new characters as wonderfully flawed. She also mentions that "BioWare was committed to excellence every step of the way" and "everyone from the recording studio, to the post house, to the marketing team brought their A-Game" -

Hi everyone. Happy November! We’ve got news!

Netflix just released the official trailer and poster for my show, Dragon Age: Absolution and announced that all six episodes will premiere on Netflix, December 9th. Watch the trailer here!

This has been a huge passion project for me. I loved DA:I from the moment Cassandra accused my Inquisitor of being a terrorist (BTW, rude! But I can’t stay mad at Cass). Back in Spring 2019, I pitched several ideas to Bioware and Netflix, and this was the one I NEVER expected them to pick. This was the pitch I did just for me, sure no one else would believe in it. I’m so glad I was wrong.

When I got the job, I replayed and rewatched everything I could get my hands on. (Thanks to all you YouTube DA Lore Keepers out there!) I spent weeks scribbling weird insights on my office walls (they were glass at the time, don’t panic), and listening to songs on repeat for hours. Then in Fall 2019, I got to bring on the incredibly talented Tim Sheridan and Mae Catt, and our amazing writer’s assistant Grace Deppe-Waldschmidt. We brought so much of ourselves to this story! We wanted to make something fans could be proud of. Netflix was a dream to work with and Bioware was committed to excellence every step of the way. Then in 2020 Red Dog started bringing our show to life, and the last several years have been full of late night meetings with Korea, art approvals, and finally animation. (Bae, if you read this, you’re the absolute best!) So many people worked so hard throughout the pandemic on this. Our amazing voice cast recorded the whole thing from their homes over video conferences. (Best Zoom meetings EVER!) And everyone from the recording studio, to the post house, to the marketing team brought their A-Game.

It’s funny that in writing a show about such wonderfully flawed characters, I got to meet so many flawless professionals. I’m truly the luckiest showrunner in the biz. Now, three and a half years later, it’s all come together and we can share this with you. Whether you’ve played from the beginning or are brand new to Thedas, I hope you’ll watch on December 9th and fall in love with these characters as much as we did.

Ok I rbd this w/ tags saying I might've found damning evidence in the batman 149 solicit but, upon closer inspection, the description is not nearly as incriminating as previously thought. Although between the old Bruce (but not so old as to be definitively a flash forward...) staring at young Bruce on the cover, holding the suit but not wearing it + the phrase "totality of your life" and the ambiguity of "the batman who is left standing" w/o name checking Bruce or Zur...its all very suspicious.

It's also important to note that this issue comes out just before Absolute Power is set to start, where Bruce (and specifically failsafe) is set to play a role. So if Zdarsky is building up to Bruce retiring, it's probably not this issue precisely. Absolute Power teases changes to the trinity's status quo, although no books have been cancelled, relaunched or have announced/teased a shift in creative team. All appear to be pretty in the midst of their storylines, with Superman only on issue #17 by the end of absolute power, and Wonder Woman only on issue #13 + both writers on those series have said they'd like to do long runs on those characters.

so it wouldn't be appropriate to do mantle transfers over their...with the only exception to that being the batman title. Which has been running for multiple years at this point and is wrapping up its current arc before Absolute Power starts.

I might just be making assumptions based off what Zdarsky did with his Daredevil run (where Elektra takes over the mantle from Matt). I haven't done any close reading of Zdarky's batman run! This is a theory fuelled partly by spite and a "wouldn't that be wild? Lmao" kind of sentiment.

But genuinely, just for a moment, walk with me-

Maybe Tim won't become batman exactly! I swear to god I must've imagined it but I could've sworn there was some kind of interview or solicit that mentioned Tim and an identity named like Blackbird or something. Maybe Tim will get a new identity (EVERYBODY CHEERED!) and start taking on more of Bruce's responsibilities in Gotham.

Which I still don't think would be good btw. If only bc it cuts out characters like Cass as parts of Bruce's legacy, and bc I think Zdarsky has a bad habit of putting down other characters to uplift Tim when he really doesn't need to.

But if I were to speculate what Zdarsky might be building to, as a defining part of what he and DC hopes to be a seminal run on batman...

I think I may just be onto something. And if I am I will eat my own hat bc I desperately want to be wrong.

It is an inch resting thread that Zdarky's been playing with recently that Bruce is potentially getting older and weaker. It may or may not be undercut by scenes like the infamous "Bruce falls from the moon and lives bc He's Batman" but I haven't been an avid reader of the main batman title so I can't attest to that.

Because the thing is, that sort of narrative usually implies a mantle transfer, it foreshadows succession. Of course it's not the only thing it could mean but I'd say that's what's most common.

But I doubt Zdarsky would make Dick batman again. He's clearly a fan of the Morrison era (hence his heavy use of Zur En Arrh) but Dick's title is one of DC's big money makers rn, and while they've announced the end of Tom Taylor's run soon, they've basically said that the nightwing title is going to continue (either at issue 1 or from TT's numbering onward)

And considering how little focus or appreciation Zdarky's given Cass (she usually only shows up for a panel or two at a time and has had one of her most consistent character traits- her spectacular fighting skills- undermined in order to, again, play into BatGod Bruce) I doubt she's the successor he's foreshadowing

Damian's still too young, Zdarsky doesn't care about Duke, Jason's a no for obvious reasons imo

The only batfamily member that Zdarky's given any substantial focus too- and in fact has had a LOT of focus on in his run-is Tim...

And I know it's deeply unlikely, for a lot of reasons. But part of me can't help but quake in fear at the idea...

...that Zdarsky is setting Tim up to be batman after Bruce

Girls Night started with Babs, Carrie, Kate, and Bette needing to escape the boys every once and a while

Then, they acquired Steph, who had to be in on the fun.

I imagine Cass being very slowly introduced to girls night, but eventually she fucking loves it and reminds everyone when it is.

Speaking of Girls night-

Selina originally didn't think she had a place there. She wasn't their family. not really anyways. She didn't wear the bat, she didn't live in the manor half the time-

i have thought about this just a tad because i hc that bob and fanboy love comics, but i never thought specifically about a topgun!batfam, so here's the little bit i've got for you!

iceman

okay you can't convince me that ice doesn't remind you of either clark (yes he isn't in the batfam but im putting him there as an honorary member) or alfred and lemme explain why-

ice as clark: boyfriends with mav aka batsy, tries to keep his bf in check, fails most of the time, very by the book and follows the rules

ice as alfred: keeps mav/bats in check, looks out for his well-being, the actual one in charge of the family but lets mav/bats believe he is

2. mav

mav is bruce through and through to me. i think this because he basically adopts all the pilots as his own children and wants to keep them safe by teaching them how to protect themselves (like in the air w/ dogfighting) like how bruce does with his vigilante kiddos. also i imagine the tough love and strained relationships bruce has with some of his kids is just like mav and rooster- also not to mention the lasting trauma both bruce and mav have from their early years still haunts them both every day.

3. rooster

i was on the fence about who bradley would be, but i think he would be a great dick grayson and lemme explain why- dick is bruce's first kid that he's ever taken care of. of course with being the first, it's a different experience compared to those who come after you. there's pressure on both the parent (bruce/mav) and him to be the best and live up to expectations. besides this, he was the experimental kid and also holds a personal responsibility over the others (also fitting since bradley's callsign is rooster). dick is also consistently good natured and reliable in most iterations of him and i think this is fitting with bradley. he is kind natured and naive and sometimes doesn't think things through before he does something. there are times he can be scary when he's angry (def rooster vibes) and he's def the type to hold grudges, kinda like how rooster held one against mav for the papers incident.

4. hangman

i was also unsure about who jake would be, but i think i'm going to say he reminds me of jason. theres a lot of iterations of jay and how he behaves and how his relationship with the family is, so imma just keep this pretty general concerning his personality and also say hes on shaky ground with the others. as we all know, he is considered one of the black sheep in the family. after dying and coming back as red hood, things have been difficult to say the least. however, he still is just as strong, brave, selfless, impulsive, and smart-mouthed as he was before he died. i think these traits are fitting for jake. considering his callsign is hangman and the story we all know behind it, he also relates to how jay is a lone wolf more than half the time, but they both are becoming better at playing on a team.

5. phoenix

i think phoenix would be cass. needless to say, cass had a rough upbringing (we will not go into detail). i definitely think phoenix would have a hard upbringing as well as being the oldest sister of two younger brothers trying to help her mother after her father's tragic passing (this is my own hc btw). besides this, cass upholds bruce's moral code and is determined to prove herself to her newfound family and especially to bruce as she wants to take up the mantle later on. concerning phoenix, i think she also holds herself to a high standard especially with being a female pilot in the navy. she is also fiercely loyal and protective of her crewmates. i also think these two are just badass women.

6. bob

it took some deliberating for bob here, but i think he would be tim. tim is not only incredibly smart, he is a great detective and is also pretty gutsy as well. he is a passionate person and works extremely hard to prove his worth (he is a huge workaholic). with all these traits of his, i think bob would fit him really well. bob is definitely perceptive of others and in tune to how everyone is feeling (my hc and also just comes with the fact he is a "stealth pilot" lmao).

7. fanboy

i think mickey would be duke. duke is like the light of the family in my opinion. though i havent read much of his content, i do know that hes like an empath. when he works as a vigilante, he goes out there and uses his emotions to guide him unlike some of the other members. he is also lowkey self-sacrificial and willing to do anything to protect others and his family. i think fanboy behaves the same. he cares about his family and would do anything to protect them. he definitely brings smiles to the crew and keeps morale up in my opinion. in conclusion, fanboy is a blessing and so is duke.

8. payback

payback would be lucas. lucas is no doubt extremely intelligent like his father, strong, and he is also a great fighter considering he is a boxer, as well as being trained in mma and cage fighting. besides this, he is great at tactical analysis and engineering. i totally think payback fits the vibes luke exudes and he is also just as capable as him. both of them are like the rock in the team. they're there for anyone who needs them. (i also think they're both pretty mentally stable or as much as you can be as a crime fighter in gotham)

9. coyote

coyote reminds me of steph. steph is incredibly athletic and talented, but she also has trouble regulating her emotions. she sometimes lets her emotions get the better of her and she is also one for feeling an adrenaline rush. i feel like javy could definitely relate with her. however, despite her weaknesses, she is a great vigilante and very street-smart and pragmatic. when she does something, it has meaning behind it and i think javy does the same. when he flies, he's a team player and is strategic as to how he can lead his team to victory and get them home. both him and steph are also sarcastic and witty, often throwing out some quips at others who provoke them as well lmao.

Sick day headcannons!!!!!!!

Hell yeah, I do have a post on this already (linked here) but sick day headcanons are some of my favs so let’s do some more! (Just btw there will be some repeats but that just means I rlly like that headcanon)

Dick

Dick: Oh no, god no!

Wally: What’s wrong?!

Dick: I’m dying!

Wally, suspicious: Okay…

Dick: Please Wally this is serious, I need help!

Wally, deciding to take Dick seriously: Okay, what’s wrong? What do you need?

Dick: Just a coffin. Made of maple- no oak! And roses, preferably white, oh or blue! With baby’s breath. And-

Wally: Dick, what’s wrong?!

Dick: I burnt the roof of my mouth.

Wally leaves.

A good rule of thumb for Dick is the more dramatic he is the less serious the situation. The less dramatic he is the more serious the situation.

He will go into work with a cold and complain the entire day.

If he has something serious that’s contagious he’ll call in sick but just say it’s a slight stomach bug.

If it’s not contagious he will act like everything is completely fine.

One time he did this after getting an injury on patrol and ended up passing out and spending that night and the next day in the ICU.

He has become a bit more responsible over the years, mainly bc he thinks it’s adorable how sweet and cuddly Damian gets.

His favorite sick day activity is eating junk food and watching rom coms under a fuzzy blanket .

Babs

Dick: Please go to bed!

Babs: I am, I am, just one more line of code.

Dick: You’ve said that for the last three hours!

Babs tries to relax when sick but she has trouble actually taking a step back to rest.

Most of the time she’ll take a nightquil then get distracted by something and ends up falling asleep in front of her screen.

Usually Cass or Steph will come over and take care of her.

Steph always makes the best comfort food. And usually Cass will tuck Babs into bed.

Babs loves dozing on the couch to the sound of Cass and Steph laughing in the kitchen as they make her soup.

If Cass and Steph can’t come over she loves talking to them over discord while eating take out. Usually she and Cass just listen to Steph babble or she watches on of them stream something.

She also usually ends up falling asleep.

Jason

Bruce: Are you sick?

Jason: I’m legally dead.

Bruce: That doesn’t-

Jason: So,legally, no. I am not sick.

Jason will forever and always argue that he can’t get sick since he already died.

When he was little he was rarely able to get extra rest when he was sick. Because when he was really little he wanted to go to school to avoid Willis. After Catherine died he was too busy just trying to survive to focus on being healthy.

But when Catherine was alive and Willis was away Jason would stay home from school, and if Catherine was sober she would read to him and sing lullabies. This only happened like twice but Jason cherishes those memories of Catherine.

As a kid if he was ever sent home for being sick he’d get in huge trouble with Willis.

After being adopted the first time he was sent home with a fever he begged Alfred not to tell Bruce and hid in his closet until he stopped crying being sad. Alfred sat by the closet door with soup, a grilled cheese, and tea, reading The Princess Bride aloud until Jason came out. It took two hours.

Jason’s favorite sick day activity is drinking tea and rereading The Princess Bride (with the movie playing quietly in the background) while wearing his Wonder Woman hoodie.

Cass

Steph: Cass why are you patrolling while sick?!

Cass shrugs.

Steph, with a sigh: You’re allowed to take a sick day, okay?

Cass looks unsure but nods.

Steph: C’mon, let’s get you a bath and fuzzy blankets.

Cass forgets that she’s not just a weapon/tool. She forgets that she’s allowed to rest when sick.

Because of this she will keep going no matter what and tends to view ‘taking a sick day’ as a failure.

Steph, Tim, and Babs have been working on this with her. She’s improved a lot now that Tim lost his spleen and gets sick easily.

Now usually Steph cooks for her while Babs lays with her.

Cass isn’t against taking medicine but she never feels like the situation is severe enough to require medication. So someone in the fam has to convince her to take her meds.

She becomes extremely cuddly when sick and will cling to anyone near her.

Her favorite sick day activity is watching old horror movies with Steph or Babs.

Steph

Steph: I’m fine.

Steph: I’m fine.

Steph: I’m fine.

Steph: I’m- I have a fever of 104, I should rest.

Stephs mom is a doctor, so she’s used to being told “it’s just a cold, you’re fine”.

Usually she keeps going until she can’t then sleeps for like three days.

But it’s less out of stubbornness and more out of habit. So if someone tells her to rest she’s immediately like “okay!” and takes the sick day.

Babs always calls or comes over to check on her every day that she’s sick.

Cass has been learning how to cook and loves making Steph food when she’s sick.

Tim used to come over but now he always calls.

Stephs favorite sick day activity is sleeping with an ice pack or heating pad, depending on the sickness, with a giant cup of ginger ale and Cass curled up beside her.

Tim

Jason: Tim, are you sick?

Tim, tiredly staring at case files: No I-

Tim is interrupted by a violent coughing fit.

Tim: Oh, I guess I am?

Growing up Tim loved getting sick because it meant the house keeper would come over and take care of him and he might even get a hug.

But she stopped coming over when Tim was ten, his parents thought he was old enough to handle being sick on his own.

Sick days in the manor were a shock to him because he was rarely alone, there was always one family member by his side.

Now that he’s immunocompromised he’s always surrounded by people, he pretends to get annoyed with it but really he loves how much they care.

Dick always sings Romani lullabies and runs his fingers through Tim’s hair. Jason, Duke, and Steph will cook for him. Damian stay by his side and bring him tea. Babs will play video games with him. And Cass does a bit of everything, at least everything other than sing to him.

The family also takes Tim getting sick very seriously so if they here one cough he’s immediately being interrogated and getting his temperature checked.

Tim’s favorite sick day activity is laying under a weighted blanket with a cup of tea and playing video games with Babs, Steph, Duke, and Cass.

Duke

Dick, knocking on Duke’s door: Hey bud, why are you still in bed? I thought we were training together?

Growing up sick days were spent at home either resting alone or with one of his parents.

He had to do some fending for himself (like cleaning and making food when his parents weren’t home with him) but nothing extreme or unexpected. So, overall he had pretty normal sick days.

After he parents went missing he was so focused on getting them back and saving them that he never stopped to rest when sick.

Now as a member of the Wayne family his sick days are always spent with someone by his side, at least they are if he tells the family he’s sick.

He’s gotten in trouble several times for not telling Alfred/the family that’s he’s sick. Not because he puts Tim at risk, he like all the family is very cautious about that, but because everyone worries about him and wants to help take care of him.

After several lectures from Alfred he’s finally getting better about telling the family when he’s sick.

His favorite sick day activity is reading Jason’s copy of The Princess Bride while having a bowl of Alfred’s chicken noodle soup.

Damian

Jason: Are you sick?

Damian: N-

Damian sneezes like a kitten.

Damian: No.

Cass, smiling: Sick baby brother, cute sneeze.

Damian tries to be offended but ends up having a sneezing fit.

Steph: That’s so adorable!!

Damian has the most adorable sneezes. He literally sounds like a kitten and the entire family and hero community finds it adorable. Damian hates it.

He used to try and pretend he wasn’t sick and just work through it.

Then he sneezes in front of Harley and Ivy and they cooed over him for an hour.

Now he grumpily secluded himself in his room when sick.

Usually the family will check on him and find that Jon flew over and they’re cuddling on his bed watching cartoons.

When Damian’s sick he really craves spicy food. Like everything he eats he’ll add hot sauce or pepper to. His food is so spicy that only Cass can handle it, like it makes ghost peppers look like child’s play.

His favorite sick day activity is drinking masala chai under one of Tim’s fuzzy blankets while wearing Dick’s old hoodies and surrounding himself with various soft things he stole from his siblings. This is preferably done while eating spicy tomato or lentil soup and watching cartoons with Jon.

while the casting looks great, i am slightly wary of the fact that tim's character is asian- i know that's been a headcanon for a lot of tim fans in recent times, and it's frankly weird and disrespectful (coming from the perspective of an asian person) that they're (those select fans who do this) stereotyping tim as the "uwu smol asian boy" when he is, canonically and always and forever, a white boy (man? at this point? god he's still 17 isn't he?). him being white IS NOT A BAD THING and it makes me upset that fans feel the need to make him into a different race than he actually is in order to almost justify their like of him or better "fit" his personality and skills as a character

so, not harping on the live action too much since they got all the other casting members really well done, but it does worry me a bit that this is only going to increase the popularity of that weird headcanon

Yeah, I get what you're saying. This is a conversation I've seen people have about Tim being Asian as well as Jason being Latino.

Like you said, people will headcanon Tim as Asian and that could possibly play into the Asian stereotype of being really smart. I think people need to evaluate their headcanon to make sure they're not consciously or subconsciously playing into that stereotype.

I'm not sure how many people racebend Tim because they think it makes him more interesting/they think he fits the Asian stereotype vs fans who are Asian and want to view him as Asian because they relate to him or see themselves in him.

Canonically, he's always been White. There's maybe one panel from the DC Bombshells series where I believe Tim was meant to be depicted as an Asian boy. However, that doesn't erase the fact that he was created as a White boy, has always been White in the main continuity, and only has life experiences as a White man.

Cass, on the other hand, is an Asian character who is often pushed to the side. It does get problematic when a character like her who is canonically Asian is forgotten in favor of racebent Tim being seen as the main or sole Asian representative in the family.

Things are a little more complicated when we're talking about taking these characters and having them be portrayed by actors across different forms of media. There is most definitely a need and desire for more POC actors to be cast in movies and TV shows which leads us to Peter playing Tim. (And I don't mean that Peter was cast because he's a POC btw. Obviously, he's skilled in various areas and is being recognized for said skills.)

As for the headcanon becoming more popular in the fandom, I think the only advice I can really give is to either not engage with any content that you feel is disrespectful or to create a dialogue between you and other fans where you can discuss this topic and share your point of view with them.

In Supersons we see a couple of kids that are implied to be Damian and Jon's children and the boy has laser eyes and can fly, so I asume he's not adopted. The girl, who calls Bruce grandpa, can also fly, btw. So it's canon (probably by accident) that Jon can have kids and he must have married one of Bruce's kids.
