Kalim, Vil: Pyrite, Prince, and Pauper
Wah 😭 I really love the initial art!! The water shimmering and making a rainbow… ✨ (Not used to seeing Kalim without his headscarf though, feels weird to see him bare!)
A Tale as Old as Time.
If Kalim had to pick one word to describe what he was looking at, it would be celebration.
It was both humble and extravagant at once—the city streets, the venue, livened up with flags, confetti, and fanfare. A large elephant fitted with a vest and hat towered over the gathered townsfolk. Seated upon him was a young man in a turban and glaringly white robes, an arm extended to the sky.
A grand party for the public, and all were invited. Children and adults, animals and humans, nobles and street rats.
Kalim broke out into a wide smile. “Wow, it looks like everyone’s having so much fun!”
“You never seem to tire from the idea,” Vil commented dryly.
The supermodel patiently tapped a manicured nail against his arm. “I suppose a host showing his best face to the public is far from undesirable. I’ve certainly been to my fair share of events where the host was less than that.”
“Gahahah! You’re famous, so it makes sense you’d be in high demand at parties. Jamil told me about that red carpet you walked a little while ago. I managed to catch some of it on TV!”
Kalim’s garnet eyes glinted with excitement.
“You were all sparkly and the crowd was so happy to see you! You’re like the prince in this painting, hyping everyone up.”
“My, thank you for your support.” Vil’s lip curled. “I’m sure you’re in high demand as well… albeit for different reasons than I. Many would love to have the attention of the Asim heir on them.”
The third year chuckled, a hand tucked under his chin. “It’s only natural for people to be attracted to that which shines.”
“Shines, huh…”
Kalim folded his arms, inclining his head to one side. His mouth pinched slightly, disrupting the arc of his smile.
“… Hey, Vil. Can I ask you something?”
“You need not request for my permission.” Vil waved a hand. “Continue.”
“Do you really think I shine? Like, on stage.” A pause, then he quickly added, “And you can be honest with me. Please… be honest with me.”
“What’s this now?” Vil planted his hands on his hips. “Certainly, you’re not ordinary by any means, but I’d hesitate to call you a refined gem. A one month boot camp isn’t enough to polish your singing and dancing skills to that of a pro—but you’re not talking about VDC, are you?”
“Ahahah… Looks like you caught me.” Kalim let his arms fall to his sides.
“You can’t fool this actor’s eyes,” Vil said simply. “So? What is it that you’re actually after? It’s not like you to talk in circles.”
“It’s nothing. I… A lot’s been on my mind since winter break. Too many things. When I think about it for too long, I start to wonder if I’m really what people say I am.”
You’re so talented, Kalim-sama.
So handsome.
So smart.
So kind.
The very best.
“Sometimes...” He tugged at his collar, watching how it sparkled and shifted as he maneuvered the fabric. “it feels like I'm all dressed up with nowhere to go. Or like my clothes don’t fit me right.”
The golden boy, the prince to make way for, the sun all looked to. They were the roles he wore, but suddenly they felt hollow.
Lies set adrift on an errant wind.
Dust of pyrite, fool’s gold.
Am I pretending to be something I’m not?
“… I’m not making a lot of sense, am I?” Kalim laughed softly, forcing a smile. “Sorry, I shouldn’t have made today feel sad.”
“On the contrary,” Vil tutted, “I understand all too well. All the makeup in the world, the nicest clothes, and the most skilled stylists cannot make a pauper become a prince. A pauper is a pauper, no matter how they present.
“However… a perfect little prince is not all that has value. I’ve played enough parts and been in enough productions to know. There are swash-buckling pirates, daring space heroes, dastardly villains, and, yes, even clever, honest street rats who find themselves in the public eye. Perhaps they did not start off as diamonds, but in the end they proved themselves to be diamonds in the rough.”
Vil lifted his chin—indignant.
“Regardless of how others perceive you or what ensemble you wear, you remain yourself. So long as you hold true to your own moral compass and principles, you shall always be someone who shi… Ough!!”
He could scarcely finish his sentence before he was tackled. Kalim was embracing him tightly, only pulling back when Vil muttered that he was creasing both of their suits.
“Thanks, Vil!! Talking with you made me feel so much better! You’re really not as bad as they say you are.”
Vil frowned. “I’m aware that I have my detractors, but you must learn to be more tactful with your choice of words.”
“Tactful, right! Got it! I can do that.”
Kalim released him and spun around, splaying his arms out. He pretended to present the painting with a flourish, looking back at Vil.
“Someday, maybe I’ll be as sparkly as he is here!”
So I can meet everyone’s expectations. Talented, handsome, smart, kind, better.
But no matter how I might change, I’m still me.
Still Kalim Al-Asim.
And that was something worth celebrating.

HE IS SIMPLY PERFECT. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH 👁‼️‼️‼️
I have a lot of nonsensical or silly theories. But I believe that Harley is not completely evil...? I mean, yes. He is probably a horrible "person", but who would do something good for the player and Poppy if he wanted to ( I believe he wants us dead ).
I don't know exactly what Harley's objective is or what he wants, but I believe he can use us during the chapter. I don't know, maybe he has realized the player's potential, and thinks it's a good idea to use him for his own plans ( ? ).
I really can't think of anything. I saw several people saying that Harley wouldn't be the main villain of this chapter, but rather an ally. And this possibility makes me very sad... like, where is the extremely cruel Harley Sawyer that they feared so much? I want to see this man committing crimes, deceiving us, betraying us!!
Even though I love the possibility of Harley being an ally, there aren't many things that prove it. I don't hate this theory, but no one has ever thought about the possibility of Harley at least caring about anyone. He didn't even care about the experiments, so why would he care about the player? If he does this, it's probably because he has his own reasons. I think it's pretty hard for the doctor to help us of his own free will ( but we don't know how he acts and thinks at this exact moment, so maybe he really is an ally ).
but regardless of his plans and goals, I'm sure he'll be the best character in this chapter. I'm not exaggerating, this doctor will be the best thing in this chapter ( I love him more than anything ). And I waited a long time to see him ( thanks to those who didn't take my theories seriously ) but I always said he was alive. AND THAT'S VERY GOOD!!! ( harley pls dont die )
now about this here
I have two theories about what these things are:
first: bodies that harley created for himself. probably extra bodies ( imagine he can go from one body to another. i don't know how this robot thing works )
second: followers ( ? ). I personally discarded this theory because it was very silly. but they would be like cheap copies that work for him.
but to be honest, it would be really interesting if Harley really was an ally. and it would be amazing if the one responsible for the hour of joy was actually him ( it may not make sense, but it's a really interesting concept to me, especially because the experiments are his creations. if anyone could free them. wouldn't it be him? )
Hm. That's it... I love Harley Sawyer. And he's going to be amazing regardless of whether he's an ally or a villain. And I've waited so long to see what he looks like. So it's really cool to see that he's getting a chapter where he'll be featured!!
and also, please don't die. you are my favorite character.

I normally don't post anything about controversial subjects, but this time as one of the member in Love and Deepspace community, I wanted to speak up about this horrible issues going on currently.
I've been in the LnD community for a while, from February 2024 till now, it is sad that CN server is spreading hate about Sylus just because they think Sylus 'plagarized' Zayne. While in reality, I know damn well they most of them came back to the game BECAUSE OF SYLUS
Be fucking for real, no ML has been plagarizing any ML. I'm Malaysian Chinese, even me myself felt so embarassed for yall CHINESE PLAYERS to spread hate about one of our beloved. Imagine how devastated Sylus will be if he's real and when he knows this.
Fuck yall mean Sylus doesn't deserve to be famous because he was released late?? This is something that an uneducated people sounds like. I don't see yall hating on Caleb? Cuz tell me why yall want your ADOPTIVE BROTHER to be one of your love interest, its fucking weird. Not to be racist, but yall Chinese glorify that indirect sibling relationship as romance so much.
I will stand for Sylus bcuz he loves us just as much CN Sylus fans loves him. Imagine it's your fave ML, Zayne, Rafayel, Xavier getting hatred, would you guys want that? Seriously isn't Confucius our ancestors? What did he taught us? Yall should be ashame. TRULY AND REALLY, REALLY AND TRULY ASHAMED.
Sylus is the fucking reason LnD blows up. Yes, before he was released, we thought he is the villain in the storyline, but as we play through the game, we do realized he's actually a sweetheart, he is our beloved. But no, yall clearly wanna headcanon him as a red flag, he's a bad guy, he doesn't love MC. Excuse me, are we playing the same game?
It is clear, as we play the game, our first impression on different LIs is different, Sylus looks like he's a bad guy, a villain that likes forced love but actually someone who will do anything to us, no forcing us.
Zayne looks cold outside, but deep down he cared for MC so much, he's willing to love us in every single universe no matter Astra cursed him to not love us. He's warm inside.
Rafayel carefree and often bratty and petulant personality on the surface, but when he's with MC, his beloved, he can be childlish, whiny and all pouty.
Xavier looks like an honest boy, a golden retriever, acts clueless but he's the most possesive LI ever.
From all of this, didn't we already know, or obviously know that all LI have something beyond the surface? Don't villainize any of them for fuck sake. Pls use the brain.
No one is forcing anyone consume other's content, if you love Zayne, then look at Zayne's content, but if you love Sylus too, you as a Zayne main can go look at Sylus's content too, IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
Sylus didn't ruin us, as a Zayne main before, I can assure you, he didnt ruin me. It's just that I prefer Sylus because he is my type, I love his reassurance on Mc's insecurities, I wish I have someone like Sylus beside me, I still love Zayne regardless. It's called OTOME GAME for a REASON.
Please don't give up on defending our beloved as Sylus's fans. We love him and seems like we are the only one that knows him deeply.
If you're a player in LnD, we should stand together, no matter which character we love.
fuck CN antis
Humans doesnt want each other to enjoy A GAME in peace clearly speaks about how childlish we are as mankind. I don't see yall fighting for women's right that much since yall CN people likes Trump.

A common trope in fanfics is that Izuku could become a Quirkless Hero via an Iron Man-type armor. But while it doesn't work at all for the ending, it works in fanfics. You know why? Because in those fanfics, HE MAKES THE ARMOR HIMSELF. It's not handed to him on a silver platter. He goes though many amounts of trial and error to continuously improve his suit, and is allowed to feel emotions and thoughts from his point of view. He's allowed to be spiteful, angry, sad, and conflicted. The fanfic "I Am Not Done" by JayDeeKay on AO3 is one that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND because it did all those things and more, depicting Izuku as a victim of both Bakugo (who crippled him) and Hero/Quirk Society for wanting to become a Hero, with many people from different angles coming at him because they fear that his attempts will rightfully shake up the status quo. Love that fic.
Iron Might in canon shouldn't have even worked in the first place because Horikoshi conveniently forgot that AFO has a Radio Waves Quirk that can disrupt all kinds of electronics. Why the fuck didn't AFO use that? As Deadpool would say:
Hi @patrickowens86 👋
Iam going to be honest but I love quirkless izuku and he honestly doesn't need to be OP just quirkless izuku who changes the definition of what it means to be a hero works really well in a story because like you said it's a journey that izuku must take. This journey allows Izuku to feel certain emotions, grow as a person, allows his beliefs to be challenged and changed by his experiences in society and it also focuses a lot on Izuku's intelligence which I love.
The reason iron Izuku doesn't work in the manga ending is because he never made the suit it was given to him. Izuku also never goes through the journey of trial and error the journey of challenging his beliefs and overall development it's just a little thing hori gave izuku so he can still be a hero.
There's also the depiction of canon iron Izuku or iron might as the suit being powerful enough to beat many villains but to be a hero you don't need to beat villains you need to SAVE people not BEAT them. Like I said izuku doesn't need to be powerful enough to go against villains like all for one or shigaraki but his intelligence and influence can change society and allow for him to connect with others.
Izuku becoming a quirkless hero is also one way that he breaks the status quo so there's that.
Going on a tangent here but one of the things I don't understand is the belief that izuku can't be a quirkless hero when heroes like wash (a flipping washing machine) can be a hero or someone like lunch rush is a hero. The term hero doesn't mean that someone needs to physically fight villains.
I don't like iron might. To me it hinders all mights own development of him learning to leave stuff to the younger generation and also learning and finding his own self worth outside of heroics and being able to fight or save others. Also I must say that I even forgot that all for one had a radio wave quirk and I suppose hori just ended up nerfing all for one because he made him too powerful in the first place for anyone to beat.
The link to the fic that you mentioned is here Iam not sure but I think I might of read it but I forgot so Iam definitely gonna read it anyways.

I am having a lot of fun making my own rewrite of Wish right now. It is a sandbox for me to do whatever I please <3
Sketched out a redesign for Asha to better fit my own spin of things- for narrative purposes I think she’s going to be the adopted daughter of Magnifico and Amaya. She’s a bit more anxious but very optimistic and just wants to do her best and feel like a worthy heir to Rosas’ throne and magic.
I wanted her have a bit more a moon motif along with stars, but I really struggled to get those crescent shapes into her design. I also changed up her colors a bit to be a more reminiscent of the sky at dusk and dawn. I like the idea of Magnifico and Amaya being more sun themed also!
Just getting some ideas on paper and out of my head. Wish has quickly become one of those medias where I actually love the ideas presented but was ultimately disappointed by the execution. But I’m a creative who can do whatever I want so I can just make my own fun little au all for myself <3
I might try to throw together some designs for human Star tomorrow. I’ll be honest, I’ve never felt so disappointed looking at a story’s concept art before. I know that ideas get cut for one reason or another- but everything with a more traditional fairy tale, a villain couple, and Star and Asha being soulmates was the making of a story tailor made for me- and I’m kinda sad it never saw the light of day.

yeah, reverse 1999 2.2 is probably the worst patch this game had, about the way they represent the location i mean. I am kinda sad about how terrible this patch is, because even with anjo nala slowly becoming my favorite character of the game, this still is the worst chapter yet. I haven't finished yet, i am probably in the middle of the chapter, but shit, the way this chapter show brazil is so bad, so, so bad.
Anjo Nala is a great character, but she is not brazillian sadly (i would love if she was brazillian), she is the best character in this chapter and she is so cute, she acts like a cat. Despite being a Succubus, she is not only about sex, this is something new to a succubus character, often reduced to just sex, sex and sex. She is sexy, a lot, but she don't have sex as her personality, she is, to be honest, really, really cute, her interactions make her look so precious. And a bit tragic too.
Lopera i don't really know what to think about her, she is not bad, kinda the opposite, i am still in the middle in the chapter and her character still is being build. She is from colombia, she looks like a cool character, might pull for her because meta reasons and her design is cool.
Now Mr. Duncan, he makes me uncomfortable, he kinda represents everything wrong with this chapter, something clearly made with little to no study about brazil, about the events that happened here in history. His skin color is only a problem because they put him in that white savior bullshit, the white dude that saves the people from the favelas (that is usually represented as people of color, with is kinda accurate, sadly). The worst part of his character is that he is a veteran brazillian soldier. This decision was taken probably without knowing about the dictatorship that happened here in brazil leaded by the military 5 years before the events of the chapter. If not the white savior bullshit, it would be totally fine if he was white, his skin color is only a problem because of the choice they made with his character.
The way they represent são paulo, one of the biggest cities in the world, is terrible, the clothes of the npcs don't look like someone would use it in their daily lives anywhere in the entirety of latin america in the 90s. The setting of the chapter looks like they wanted to make it in mexico, but was too much offensive stereotypes together, so they put favelas on it and called Brazil and são paulo, without any study or thinking. And the fact that they keep talking about how ABSOLUTE SHIT IS TO LIVE IN THAT PLACE is worse, they made it worse.
I am disappointed with bluepoch and will put that on the survey, usually never do them, but this time i will, shit like this cannot happen again. I don't have plans to stop playing the game, it is one of my favorite gacha games that i play and i have no plans to stop playing because of 2.2, but i am disappointed, a lot, and i hope they never do this shit again, for the gods, please, i really hope they never do those mistakes again.
Also spoilers of 8TH-14. A chapter foccused in the military, on brazil, in the 90s is a shit ideia, after all, the connotations of a chapter focused on the military that happens only 5 years after the end of the military dictatorship could be terrible, but looks like Zeno are the villains in this chapter, with Igor being a villain and all, working with Manus, so it makes less bad, i will discover more as i read the rest of the chapter, in a hope to get out less angry, if the chapter give me enough of Anjo Nala i will probably end more happy than angry if they don't do something worst than they have done yet.
#reverse 1999#2.2#this chapter is so bad#in the way they show brazil#it could be such an amazing chapter#it could atract so many brazillians to play this game#we kinda love when our country is represented in a cool way#by foreign works#but no#they messed up so bad#so#bad#this game is probably hated now by a lot of brazillians#i am really sad and angry#i don't hate reverse 1999#but i am angry with bluepoch right now#Anjo nala is the best thing in this chapter#she is so lovely#and amazing#and cute#but i am angry

DIVINITY: PROLOGUE ~ SUKUNA X READER

a/n okay I'm very excited about this!
I'm planning on splitting up the story into a prologue, fight, smut, then epilogue. I love build-up and world building, not just the smutty stuff, so be prepared for more of a plot w/ porn set up- plans may change though and upload schedule will be chaotic so be prepared
hope you all enjoy!
pairing: True Form! Sukuna x Curse! Fem! Reader
word count: 2.9k
summary: Sukuna is feared and respected, a self-proclaimed "natural calamity". Shrouded in power and mystery, not much is known about him, other than the fact that if you bore him you'll likely face a gruesome demise.
Now where does that leave you? A powerful and new "natural calamity" as Sukuna would say.
content warning: no smut, fem! reader, canon-typical violence, descriptions of violence, blood, death, swearing, kind of anti-hero/villainous reader, canon! sukuna , slightly non-canon setting
credit to @cafekitsune for all the amazing dividers!!!

The Heian Era- a time that would later be recognized as the 'Golden Age of Jujutsu'. A period full of strong sorcerers- and curses.
Yet, no matter their strength, no one stood a chance against the reigning king: Ryomen Sukuna. The very mention of his name sent fear into those who heard it. While he stayed on top of the food chain, there was nothing to be done.
If a village wanted a chance at survival, they had expectations to uphold.
First: respect and fear the King of Curses. Even if he's miles away, when he is spoken of, it should be with care and respect. No one is sure if it's true, but there are tales of villagers speaking of Lord Sukuna in a lowly manner- only for them to be cut in-half before they could finish.
Second: his arrival should be met with offerings and praise. Not to feed his ego, but to give him a reason not to burn a town to the ground. If, for some terrible reason, a village has Sukuna housed within it, he is to be treated like a God. Anything less would mean the death of hundreds, such an easy act that Sukuna would do it with his eyes closed.
The third, and final, rule: everyone is beneath him. No one is allowed to look him in the eye, talk to him, or even breath too close to him. Weaklings are expected to know their place. If they forget, Lord Sukuna happily reminds them of his strength by crushing their windpipe with one of his four hands.
No village has ever really strayed from these rules after they were made- not if they wanted to live. Due to this, Sukuna's arrivals come with a sort of schedule: an invitation made in hopes of gaining his favor, offering and celebration preparation, the 'festivities', and finally, his departure.
The latest, pitiful town Sukuna has found himself in is in their third stage. He's seated comfortably on a pedestal of sorts, with Uraume close by. If Sukuna were to be honest, he finds these kind of events boring and tacky. He can't help but sneer when he looks into a sea of sad, lowly, humans giving him hollow praise to stay alive.
As Sukuna sits in his head, he thinks that maybe he endures this because there's nothing better to do. Pillaging and bloodshed isn't fun if don't give yourself the chance to relax, ready yourself for the next venture.
Another perk of being invited to these celebrations: hearing gossip. It's no surprise that Sukuna is not a very social man, and Uraume is no better when they spend all of their time with him. So these short instances give him a chance to hear the latest news.
It's not like he would be ignorant to anything if he truly wanted to know. He just finds more excitement in finding things out when villagers whisper their gossip to one another- it also gives him something to do.
Lucky for him, the townspeople are bustling with news. Their voices are full of fear and concern. They try to hide it, try to keep Sukuna's attention on the various gifts they offer him. It's not enough, sadly, and he's becoming intrigued.
This distress isn't being caused by him, from what he can hear and tell. None of them have verified or given a name to what is on their minds, so Sukuna decides to wait it out.
Night falls by the time Sukuna finally knows what's going on. By now, the offerings have been made, the praises have been given, and this meant it was time for him to take his leave. Both him and Uraume can see the sweat bead on the elder's heads as Sukuna remains seated.
Uraume is confused as well, but is wise enough to not question or make a fuss- Sukuna does as he pleases, sometimes with no rhyme or reason. Their job is to serve him, and right now that meant refilling his cup.
Just as he's about to call it a night, fed up with waiting for something interesting to happen, Sukuna hears it. Some young, quiet girl was speaking with her friend as they cleaned up. Their conversation was of some new curse- 'if you could call her that' as they said- was causing chaos in a neighboring village.
As Sukuna continued to listen, the girl shared more. She informed her friend that the curse seemed to appear out of nowhere, one that no one recognized. The rumors are that she looks human, beautiful even! But she's really a cold-hearted monster. When her companion scoffs and claims this to be false, that if this were true more people would know about it, the girl argues back. She explains that this has all happened within the span of a day or two.
Sukuna quirks his brow, slightly surprised by this news. He didn't sense any new cursed energy, at least to the extent that this girl is speaking of. If some curse were to be close by with this much power, he would know. But, it would bring some much-needed entertainment if this rumor were to be true.
Just as Sukuna was about to rise from his seated position, he felt something shift. It was as if a balance inside of him tilted. He tensed up and looked to the source, sensing it's placement. Uraume turned to the direction, having picked up on the intrusion as well.
Within seconds, a shriek was heard. It was quickly cut off by the sound of clatters. The shift Sukuna felt morphed into a detection of cursed energy just as the scream died.
As if the yell was some kind of alarm, the village quickly fell into disarray as people ran away. Families held each other tight as they rushed to the center of town, right where Sukuna was seated.
He watched as their determined faces fell, filling with fear and despair as they were met with the sight of the King of Curses. It was easy to see that the villagers were now stuck between two deadly curses, having to chose which death they'd prefer.
Without hesitation, Uraume calmly creates a rush of ice that destroys all of the obstacles between them and the curse that's entered the village- leaving behind a small pile of dead bodies. It was a simple and effective move, the opponent is caught off-guard and usually frozen in the ice. Oftentimes Uraume freezes the curse until they're veins are frozen solid, an easy victory.
So Uraume is left shocked when they watch the ice fly back towards them. It's wasn't too fast, they're able to create a wall that protects both them and Sukuna. They try to analyze the curse, but it's hard to see them through the ice.
Before Uraume could speak, a joyful laugh rang through the silent village. To any human, it sounded innocent and childish. But Sukuna and his attendent knew better, they sensed the power oozing from the curse, the malice behind that laugh.
With his interest peaked, Sukuna stood up, towering over the wall of ice after he cuts it away. He's left intrigued for the second time that night when he sees a woman standing before him, now only about 300 feet away.
She looks to be about 20, but appearances can't be trusted when dealing with immortal cursed spirits. Her body is adorned in a loosely fitting, silk robe. It's large and ill-fitted on her, falling off one shoulder, showing off soft skin. There are unmistakable dots and splashes of blood that stain the front of the pristine and bright fabric.
Her laughter dies down as she wipes away a tear. When she looks up, her eyes lock onto one pair of Sukuna's. An amused smile spreads on her face as she stands tall.
"Well, I knew there was something interesting here. I could feel it," she spoke carelessly, twirling a strand of hair and cocking her head to the side, "I didn't think it would be this fun."
By now, the rest of the villagers have snuck away. This left an empty town, with only the sounds of fire crackling and the curses to fill the night.
Sukuna can hear Uraume sneer, disgusted by the disrespect coming from this uncivilized curse, "Have some decorum." Their voice is full of malice, as they ready for another attack.
Deciding to take this chance to observe the curse in front of him, Sukuna doesn't stop Uraume from using Frost Calm. He watches as the cold air quickly makes it way to their adversary. Both curses are left confused as the blast is halted just inches away from the woman's face.
The smile is quickly replaced by a glare and disgusted look. She glances at them, giving the Frost Calm in front of her little thought, "I didn't come here to fight some insignificant, little snowflake."
With that, she sent the attack right back at Uraume. This time, it was different. It was faster, more concentrated, and dripping with an immense amount of cursed energy. Left with no time to react, the smaller curse is sent flying backwards and into some buildings. Their impact is made worse as the ice encases them.
"Compared to the sheer amount of cursed energy you exude, that little pebble was nothing," the woman takes a few steps forward. Only now does Sukuna notice just how unproperly done her robe is. As soon as the binding at her waist ends, there's a large slit that reveals her legs, just short enough to hide her more intimate parts. Even with a lack of shoes, her feet and legs seem to be clean- in fact everything about her seems to be unblemished except for the blood. It leaves the Cursed King confused, but he easily drops it.
If Sukuna wasn't busy observing her and trying to figure out what exactly her cursed technique was, he would find her attire humorous and immature. It reminded him of Yorozu, her naked introduction still recent. A quick thought crosses his mind: is it some new trend for female curses to walk around half-naked? He knows he has no room to speak but at least he wears proper pants.
Coming out of his thoughts, Sukuna lifts his head and smirks ever-so slightly, "You're one to talk, woman."
Anyone could tell that this lady is a talker, and she returns his smile with a mischievous one of her own. "I wouldn't know, I'm new here," she stretches, raising her arms above her head, "All I know is that when I sense something strong- like you- I find it-" her eyes seem to shimmer as she stares into his own crimson ones, "and I take it."
With a little more time to stare into her eyes, Sukuna was able to detect what that excited gleam was: hunger. Some part of him felt a shiver run down his spin when she licked her lips and lowered her arms, "The stronger they are, the better they taste."
This leaves Sukuna chuckling under his breath, willing to humor her, "Aw, so that's it," in an instant, Sukuna is right in front of the woman, towering over her, "you're a dumb little thing that just came to life, hungry for power."
She held her ground, staring up at him confidently with a sort of excitement in her eyes, "I wouldn't say I'm dumb," in retaliation to his attempt at intimidation, she quickly pokes his chest. It was a gentle movement, something he wouldn't have even noticed. If it wasn't for the shocking strength he felt as he was forced to lean back. "but you would be right about the other thing, I just came to be about three days ago."
For any other curse, they would have been sent flying a few meters back. If she were to have used that move on a human, their chest would have been shot open from the force. This interested her even more as she took a simple hop back, only for her to fly high into the air. She then sat herself on a nearby roof, leaning her head on her knees.
"You're the most interesting thing I've found, none of the others could talk, or lasted that move," she grinned down at Sukuna.
Both of them knew this was just banter. The fighting hasn't quite commenced yet. They seemed too invested in the other, neither ready to kill and miss out on this opportunity to chat.
Sukuna glances up at her, crossing a pair of his arms, "Is that meant to impress me, woman?"
She only gives him a cheeky smile, "Not at all, I can tell that you're powerful, feared. Something like that would do nothing to sway you from fighting me." She closes her eyes thoughtfully, "I am curious as to who you are, you'll be the first thing I've ever cared enough to remember the name of. The first. . . 'curse'- if what the humans call me is true- that makes me need to try out my abilities."
His excitement only intensifies- this woman is something else. Sukuna can tell that this battle will be one for him to remember. It won't be simple, one-sided, and consist of him using his cleave to destroy his enemy in a second. He'll really get to go all out, get to have fun.
A rumble reverberates in his chest, a chuckle, "I'm your king, woman." Sukuna slicks his hair back out from his vision, smirking at and teasing the younger curse which only grows as she furrows her brows in anger.
She raises her hand lazily, keeping it level to her head, "You're getting annoying." The woman thinks for a second, before a smile graced her face, as if a light-bulb went off. She stands up from her seated position and jumps to the ground.
Out of annoyance, and some respect for her confidence, Sukuna averts his eyes from her figure as the wind blows her robe about. It doesn't reveal much, and Sukuna might be a tyrant, but he still likes to think of himself as a chivalrous adversary.
When she's on the ground again, she walks right up to him again. Her hands a clasped in front of her, joyfully. In any other circumstance, she would be a puddle of blood for getting this close to the King of Curses. But, Sukuna must admit that her presence has provided him entertainment for the night. So he allows it.
"I know! If I beat you, you'll tell me your name. If you win, I'll tell you mine. I'd love to continue this conversation, as you're the most fascinating thing I've come across in my short life. But- I'm itching to have a little fun." Sukuna listens to her ramble, rolling his eyes at her proposition.
Now, Sukuna can't help but find this plain hilarious. This stupid, little curse is making a simple bet and placing her life on the line. He could almost smack her on the back of her head from how absurd it sounds- but, if he were to agree, he'd get to truly see her abilities.
With a lop-sided grin, Sukuna extends his hand, imbuing it with cursed energy in preparation for the binding vow. He watches as confusion washes onto her face as she stares at his hand.
"What are you doing?" her voice is laced with frustration and bewilderment.
His brows raise before he lets out an exasperated sigh, "I forgot you're new- this" he nods his head to his hand "is a binding vow. It's a promise made with cursed energy that requires us to fulfill it. In this instance, it makes you're silly deal something that must be upheld."
She nods in understanding, taking an extra second to study his hand. She then shakes it, both of them taking a second to feel the difference in hand sizes. Hers is dwarfed within his, practically invisible when held in Sukuna's. This brief touch is also a chance for them to feel the others cursed energy on a closer level, more personal.
From what Sukuna could pick up on, before he dropped her hand, was that this wouldn't be an easy fight. He's both put on edge and roused by the amount of cursed energy coursing through her veins. What makes it even better is that she's completely unaware of the power she's holding.
He can't wait to be the person that forces her to unlock it.
The two take a few simple steps back. Sukuna grips his kamutoke in one hand, readying for battle. The woman, on the other hand, stands gleefully in place. She has no weapon, isn't readying any chants or dances, hell- she doesn't even look serious.
Even with her immature behavior, the female curse looks her enemy in the eyes with an intensity Sukuna's only seen in few. She puts her hands on her hips and tilts her head, "Ready?"
Sukuna nods with content, watching from the corner of his eye as Uraume finally begins to make their way over again. The look he shoots them is enough for the servant to realize this wasn't something for them to interfere in. Instead, they stand in the background, ready to jump in whenever their master needed.
As both curses begin to emit immense amounts of cursed energy in preparation for the fight, Uraume can't help but notice a new emotion reflect in Sukuna's gaze. It's something they've never seen him express before, though most ordinary people usually experience it many times. It leaves them confused and wondering what the hell conspired while they were incapacitated.
The thing that's left Uraume stumped, that's making it's first appearance in the Cursed King's eyes, is admiration.
Admiration for the curse that's about to battle with him to the death.

final notes okay! wow- i'm sorry this took so long! i'm happy to get this ball rolling though, be prepared for some fighting and more explanation in the next part!
oh- also i hope sukuna isn't too ooc in this- it's hard to get that guy down!
hope you enjoyed!

okay so i was talking to my sister abt this but i'm kind of heated over it now and must share it with the 10 of u that i keep in my echo chamber
i love evil 2012 donnie aus. he's such a creechur and i think he should be able to commit crimes. as a treat.
however.
i HATE evil donnie aus where he's emotionless and/or turns on his brothers.
donnie is emotionally driven and he doesn't hide what he's feeling. excitement, anger, sadness; if he's feeling it you'll know he's feeling it. a lot of his mistakes/the trouble he gets into is because he's having an emotional outburst of some kind or he's thinking with his heart over his head. he's also incredibly anxious and high strung. if something goes wrong it could ruin his whole day. if donnie were to be evil and not hold back anymore, he'd be the most unhinged villain ever with emotions that switch faster than a spirit box surfing through radio channels, and they'd be intense as well. this could be said for rise donnie as well, to be honest, and there's a conversation to be had there about autistic characters who are awkward and standoffish getting turned into emotionless and stoic villains, but that's not what i'm here to talk about atm.
when it comes to why he would snap, i think it would probably have to do with feeling rejected by humanity. donnie didn't ask to be the way that he is, a mutant turtle, but he's punished for it anyway. it's probably hard for him to rationalize. a big part of his character is his insecurity about being a mutant, which is also part of the reason i think he tries so hard to get april's affections. i DO NOT condone his behavior towards april, but it does kind of prove my point here. april rejecting him, to him, confirms that he'll never be accepted by humans. again, not april's fault at all and obviously she doesn't care that donnie is a mutant, she just doesn't like him that way. but like i said, donnie is emotionally driven and it would be very easy to spiral into that line of thinking. some people say that his brothers not appreciating him or asking too much of him would make him snap, hence why they have evil donnie turn against his bros. but i don't think thag would make him evil? to donnie, his brothers are all he has. they annoy him and pick on him and get a little too entitled to his tech skills, but i doubt he'd ever be motivated to hurt them. and if, IF, by some small chance he'd turn on his bros, leo is going first LMAO
raph teases donnie a lot and says mean things sometimes, but at the end of the day, i feel like he's still closer to raph than leo. not only that, but leo is one of the main contributors to donnie's stress. there's a problem? donnie, fix it. make some invention for the team. work harder. don't you know we're all counting on you? you know how much this means to splinter. don't even get me started on the metalhead situation. leo is on screen more often than not telling donnie what he can and can't do. not to mention he can be kind of a hypocrite sometimes. he judges donnie for his obsession with april, but he's just as obsessed with karai, more often than not putting his brothers in danger for her time and time again. i hate leorai with a passion but i cannot deny that it gets brought up in the show frequently. even if you ignore the romantic implications, i would still argue that leo is a hypocrite in this situation. also, through subtext, we can kind of infer that donnie and raph are closer than donnie and leo. i also feel like raph gets got first in these aus because there's an inherent bias against his character within the fandom, but i have a video essay in the works for that.
but again, if anyone were to be the victim of villain donnie's wrath, it'd be humanity. ESPECIALLY after the don vizioso thing (which is ANOTHER thing leo is hypocritical about??? "meh meh meh donnie killing ppl is bad ur stooping to their level meh meh meh" *literally TWO OR THREE EPISODES PRIOR decapitates shredder and carves his skull from his helmet* ?????!?!?!??!!?) he'd grow frustrated with how he can't do normal things. he's punished for something he has no control over. he feels alienated. why not give them the monster people think he is?
obviously ppl can write what they want, but so can i lmao. i usually don't care if something is OOC (it's funny a lot of times tbh), especially in something like a villain au, but when it comes to the turtle bros hurting each other?? that's the one thing i CANNOT stand 💀 of course i'm not telling ppl to stop writing it, but these are just my thoughts! lol i tend to avoid those fics/aus like the plague bc of what i'm personally comfortable with but!!!! i can see how they're fun to explore
i'll probably reblog later with an evil donnie WIP i haven't touched in three months when i have my laptop on me 👍

Ranking teen wolf characters to least favourite to favourite characters (this is all for fun don’t take any of this seriously)
25 : Peter Hale - forever hating his characters and I hate how the Jeff keeps bringing him back I don’t care about his storyline arc
24 : Derek Hale - same with Derek like the shit he did with Isaac still gets me like nasty man and I don’t care about The Hale lore passed season 1 it should’ve ended there with Peter being dead
23 : Cora Hale - again she had some screen time in season 3 but just kinda vanished I still think she deserves better because the writers were trying to put her with stiles but failed since stydia so she definitely deserves better character arc
22 : Eli Hale - not the biggest fan of The Hale and it was clear that Eli was a replacement from stiles character in the movie but the the reason why he was a afraid to transform into a wear wolf Jeff you did good with one thing in that movie
21 : Jackson Whittemore - again don’t really care for his character arc considering the hole Lydia storyline like and him being the movie just felt weird considering he wasn’t there for season 3 so it just felt out of place in general
20 : Chris argent : I feel like he had a good character arc considering I dislike his character with the hole Scott being a wear wolf thing but season 3 his character was good written love the scenes of him finding out that Allison and Isaac kiss and he goes not a another werewolf
19 : Ethan and Aiden : idk like I feel like the writers could done more again I can’t really remember from both of the twins characters but like to be honest I don’t remember the twins that much
18 : Hikari Zang - she was replacement for Kira and all we know that she dating Liam other than it was just a replacement for Kira character which is sad
17 : braeden - I love her character and I wish the writers did more with her because she was just gone from season 5
16 : Boyd : I love Boyd and Erica character but Boyd deserves better like I feel like if the writers let him on to season 4 he would have been part of the McCall pack
15 : Erica - love Erica character with the lather jacket gang same with boyd miss storyline arc of her becoming part of the McCall pack “she was trying to kill Lydia” meanwhile the pack letting Theo join their pack during season 6 so i don’t care
14 : Hayden Romero - deserves better than being just Liam girlfriend
13 : Mason Hewitt - I love his character Liam / Mason saved season 4 and it’s sad that the movie barely mentions the dynamic and the fact that Mason became a police but yeah love mason must be protected at all cost
12 : Liam Dunbar : can’t do no wrong the movie fucked him over with nothing to do but Liam will always remain my favourite part about season 4/5 and kinda save season 6 with his screen time with Theo but kinda wish Jeff explore the alpha bond with him and Scott a bit more
11 : Noah Stilinski - out of all the parents he a few of the goods one but yeah I did like when stiles told him about the supermarket elements but yeah nothing much to say
10 : Melissa McCall - honestly genuinely one of my favourite characters like it’s kinda rare from teen dramas that we get a bond between mother and son normally the parents are either shit or the main villains kinda vibe so it was nice to see Melissa like into the grp this is a Melissa Mcall Stan page
9 : coach finstock - honestly genuinely one of the best characters from the show like he kinda saved the movie but yeah perfect comedy timing and nothing bad to say
8 : Malia Tate - I do like malia but it’s just that the writers don’t care about her anymore and it’s sad because she had such a great story arc but after she got with Scott it just went straight out the door considering he was still in love with Allison but yeah the movie doesn’t do her character justice like let me in that writers room
7 : Isaac Lahey - DESERVES MORE THAN TWO SEASONS I love him so much and I’m so sad that the isacc didn’t appear in the rest of the show, but yeah his scenes with Scott iconic “I came to win” Isaac lahey deserves more but kinda glad he wasn’t i in the movie because Jeff Davis would’ve destroyed he character even more
6 : Lydia Martin - in like 50/50 with her character like I’m always confused with the banshee shit like the writers just add shit in there especially within the movie, but her character development though season 3-4 but like season 5/6 is just out the door to much banshee shit that I don’t care about
5 : Kira Yukimura - my best girl who deserves so much better one of the best supernatural lore characters and the way the writers wrote her character in season 5 Still pissed me off like she the main reason why we got season 3B with her family background like treat her with some respect and Arden Cho deserves better also Kira really did have the best supernatural lore but the writers were to busy exploring lydia banshee powers but Kira was definitely a stand out to me during season 4 and I’m sad that the writers brought Peter back AGAIN but couldn’t bring back Kira
4 : Allison Argent : I know a lot of people don’t like Allison (but I do) and I’m upset about the movie but I love her character and I’m forever sad about her death the scene with her crying in the elevator with stiles dad genuinely in my top 5 favourite scenes and i kinda like the development of her character arc with her dad also
3 : Theo Raeken : one of the best aspects about season 6 like season 5 he kinda ruined it for me not the worst villians just the wrong script ( it’s Jeff Davis) but I do like how he tries to spilt the McCall pack up I always thought that was a very interesting arc for season 5 (in my opinion) but yeah Theo character kinda saved season 6 what can I say he was fun to watch
2 : Stiles Stilinski what can I say like he genuinely made that show what it is love him or hate him teen wolf wouldn’t be the same without him and he a fan favourite for a reason and Dylan o Brien deserves every bit of credit for bringing his character to life on screen
1 : SCOTT MCCALL one of my top five favourite tv shows characters of all time y’all just don’t get him “my mom does the grocery shopping” “I’m the hot girl” “Liam were brothers now” iconic like genuinely my comfort character
Also these are my opinions feel free to comment down your opinions on these characters (just be nice in the comments) I got the characters on teen wolf wiki from A-Z to which character shows the most in the show but yeah like I do love all the teen wolf characters to their own but the characters in my top 5 will never change for me but yeah can you tell I’m not the biggest fan of The Hale characters sorry not sorry

✨️Monaca's fate Yappatron session time✨️
Subject of the Day: The reasoning of "She got annoyed by Nagito into quitting is bullshit"
Man I want to accept that it is, like it's funny. Annoying a villain into straight up quitting is funny. However, not only do I find it not satisfying to Monaca's story, it doesn't make sense as she doesn't seem THAT weak minded to just tilt out of annoyance. To be honest I think they just didn't feel like expanding on her which, yeah while only a small minority of the fanbase gives a shit about the udg kids I do feel like there's a missed opportunity.
They gave the woh a cameo, mentions that they are helping with capturing Monaca. But that's kind of it???? I wish they instead made the WOH have a confrontation and be the ones to defeat Monaca, none of this "I'm bored. Lol" reasoning. (‼️OH btw I'm not saying they have to "KILL" Monaca, if you're here because you wanted to read about wanting Monaca's demise get out, this is a mostly sympathising with Monaca household‼️).
Anyways, if we do avoid Monaca quitting without a "beatdown" I think there could've been ways for her to quit without the "I'm fucking bored lol". For instance her launching herself to space to be lonely despite the fact she dislikes being lonely is sad, but I feel like that part can be further expanded on. She was already lonely by that point aside from having Servant by her side. She pushed the few people alive that genuinely did love her, all this for Junko. Her reason for continuing was because of Junko. For her idol's vision of despair, and yet at some point she made the realisation that despair wouldn't really win in the end. But they could've had a moment of her being upset about it. In UDG she was literally begging her brother to kill her because her big sis Junko wouldn't want to end it like this. So she pushed people away, tried being THE Junko 2.0 as a homage to her late big sis, but in the end when she realized it was all for nothing, shouldn't she have a stronger reaction over it?
This is why I want a WOH confrontation to happen, they could defeat the bots n stuff then point it out to her (even if she does already know). I am unsure of what her aftermath fate is at the hands of them to be honest, but I guess I just wanted something much more than just "WE'RE GOING TO SPACE‼️‼️‼️" it leaves alot to be desired.
I'd make a fanfic for the woh confrontation but like, I can't write it cuz I'm biased and will probably downplay how hurt the woh are, and I can't just pass it off to some other person cuz with the way most people talk about Monaca they'd over exaggerate their reactions. I'm unsure about Masaru, but the woh does still love her to some extent (Jataro literally stayed loyal even if Monaca didn't give him much he'd probably still be loyal to her, Nagisa mentions he still considers her as a friend, Kotoko admitted she loved her inspite of what she did tho admittedly she'd probably wouldn't hesitate to hurt Monaca ie. Leaving her to die in the game).
Anyways thank you reader for reading, I hope it's clear. My mind is very blurry and my head aches so I'm unsure how understandable this post is.

Re:Celestia Ludenberg, GOD DAMN IT!
So this happened again over 5 years later, this time on a short video centered around Celeste's character. And while I am glad that we're at a point where damn near every commentator is able to say "No, that's wrong!" since Character Perception Evolution toward her has become widely spread toward what I said also 5 years ago, I also wanted to spare some thought as to why the misunderstandings even occur among people. Whose fault is it?
The answer: half Kazutaka Kodaka's fault and half the people themselves' fault.
I think Kodaka writes Celeste in the original Trigger Happy Havoc game wonderfully. But you know what he didn't write wonderfully? Chapter 3. It started "Chapter 3 syndrome" and why I'd argue it's the best of the lot, that still doesn't make it good. And this sadly extends to how he ended up depicting Celeste's role in it. Beyond leaning way too hard into her not being as competent as she would like to be to the point where the case itself is too easy to solve and thus frustrating to go through for players after the legitimately spooky set-up, there's the matter of the girl behind the facade. We have seen glimpses of Taeko Yasuhiro in the prior chapters and Celeste's FTEs, but now when it really needs to shine through to clarify how twisted yet tragic a character she is, it mainly just comes through in her raging breakdown. Thus while we do also get her humbled acceptance of defeat and her whole parting words that hint at deeper reasons than greed for her turn to villainy and buried affection for her classmates despite trying to get them killed, it's overshadowed for many by how pronounced the crazy side of her was, and so the impression that makes + her lies as she tries to remain in-character as Celeste to the end = the "she's just a fucking psychopath" misinterpretation. Tellingly, the manga, anime and stage show versions all pronounce the true sad reality of Taeko more, and all without losing the fun of her crazy side, so I definitely prefer those here.
But as for how it’s the people themselves' fault? Beyond many of them just being dumb?
Umineko's motto fits perfectly here. Celestia Ludenberg is egocentric, condescending, and all-around off-putting, and that's before she becomes a villain who tells some truly heinous lies and works some insidious manipulations in a plan that leaves two dead and with more intended just to achieve a ridiculous, shallow dream. Her design, voice and manner of speaking are all pleasant, but otherwise, let's be honest - she's a difficult person to love.
However, almost every other character in the game is the same. Chihiro and initially Sayaka aside, all the students have truly glaring personality flaws that can easily turn people off of them...heck, three of them (Byakuya, Toko, and "Junko" once the truth about her is revealed) are even worse than Celeste. But the game still invites you to love them; to learn to love them through FTEs and interactions during trials, to say nothing of School Mode (which btw wasn't in the original Japanese PSP release of the game and is thus an absolute God-send.)
You really do have to love Celeste, or at least want to, in order to be motivated to put in the work of uncovering the truth about her. Makoto gets halfway there, but the rest is on you. Kodaka has been open about that: as the Queen of Liars there is almost always different thoughts and feelings that contradict her words and actions, and you have to actively engage with her as a character in order to sort those out, with the end result being a regular, introverted, socially awkward and somewhat childish teenage girl with no self-esteem who desperately wants to live as what she believes to be a more interesting, important and memorable (even if bitchy) character, and whose fears and insecurities surrounding the environment she was trapped in did more to push her into villainy than the allure of money.
Without love for Celeste, flaws and all, Taeko cannot be seen.

Hey guys I want to say something thats been on my mind for a while now.
Warning for ADHD rambling.
Ok so this is mostly about Alastor since he is my favorite character but I'll mention others too.
1- Why is Alastor my favorite character?
So to be honest he wasn't at first when the pilot came out he was my second favorite character but my first was Angel dust. I still like Angel but he is now my 4th favorite as opposed to first. I think the reason is because in the pilot for time is given to him and Charlie. So you either liked Charlie or Angel. But now the show has happened it seems like Angel has taken a backseat. And Alastor and Charlie have taken the front seat. Does that make sense. I fell in love with Alastor sassy attitude too.
2- I don't want Alastor to be the villain.
Ok I have 3 reasons for this
: Alastor is VIZIE favorite character ( Charlie is her second least favorite that's sooo hilarious when your main character is someone you don't even like 😂. Anyway if Alastor becomes the villain. HE WILL HAVE TO DIE CAUSE THATS WHAT HAPPENS TO VILLIANS THEY DIE.
look if you like a villain character that's fine. As long as it's not your own character cause In the end generally your going to have to kill off your favorite character. I'm sorry that's just messed up.
Second reason.
It would be another surprise villain and I don't know about you but.
IM SICK AND TIRED OF SURPRISE VILLAINS. Or villains with a redemption or sad backstory. Please can we get a villain that's just evil to be evil. We are supposed to root for the good guys not the bad guys. And if Alastor turns out to be the villain it would be another surprise villain and it would be so infuriating cause we spent so much time with him. Which brings me to my third reason.
We bonded with Alastor as a character.
Alastor started out in 2013. Then was shown in 2019 to 2024.
Between those years people have made him this lovable goofball and we all fell in love ( platonically of course ☺️) with him. Now I'm sure there were people out there that made him evil but those were extremely few. Alastor had become part of the Hazbin family and I think if he becomes the villain it would destroy the way we see him.
It's not like with Valentino where we know he is the bad guy. That's messing with our brains. And it's not cool. Especially since we spent YEARS with Alastor being part of the Hazbin family. Look if it was days I'd understand a bit. That's not enough time to bond with a character. But when it's been 11 years that's kinda hard.
3- What I want to happen.
Ok so I said I don't want Alastor to be the villain. But I still see him betraying the hotel. Except he is forced to by his owner. She gets tired of him stalling so she basically tells him. Either do as I say or you're never getting free.
So he betrays the hotel. A huge battle is had. He wounds everyone and is fighting Charlie. However Charlie suddenly blurts out. " I forgive you Alastor ". Alastor is actually moved. And realize despite everyone seeing him as a monster Charlie was the only one besides his mother to love him genuinely.
So he can't bring himself to kill her. Lucifer takes the opportunity and takes Alastor down. Alastor powers are stripped by Lucifer for hurting his daughter ( understandable)
Charlie tells Alastor he can stay but Alastor refuses saying he doesn't deserve redemption at all.
Time passes and Charlie and the others even husk begins to miss Alastor so they go to see him. Except he has changed dirastlyc ( I don't know how to spell the word 😭)
He lives in an apartment wears sweats eats microwave food. Basically HE IS DEPRESSED. so Charlie " kidnaps" him back to the hotel and he lives as a guest there now.
I AM SOOOOO SORRY FOR MY RAMBLING THIS HAS BEEN IN MY MIND SINCE I SAW THE TIK TOK LEAKS 😭😭😭
thank you for your patience
---
#alastor#viziepop#please vizie dont make alastor the main villain#Alastor is going to betray the hotel though#Alastor does care for charlie

thank you for the analysis on Thomas' character! It was very insightful. He's my favourite character in the movie, but there's so much ungenuine readings of his character it's frustrating 😞. From people who think he's a villain in this story (wtf) to people who believe Ellen never actually loved him (lol). A lot of people also completely disregard his character (mainly for shipping purposes, but it's not any less annoying) or can't even tell what his issues are and make stuff up that's not even supported by the movie itself. As if he's not one of the main characters and the entire first half of the movie isn't about his victimisation.
Hejhej Anon, it was my verbose pleasure. ;D
To be quiet honest, shipping discourses do sour every fandom experience, mostly because some discussions retreat into juvenile instincts charading with grown-up language.
It's then more about playing goth Barbie's dream date with differently style Kenndolls, and so the characters get projected on different traits fitting into the story the play should represent for the player. Well fine, but I don't think ever was that subtle or deep with this movie. (And the amount of takes uninterested in looking a bit further -ironically, in spite of Eggers being known and executing very carefully historical accuracy whereever possible- shows by not even paying attention to the fact that the cast are and movie in German Biedermeier society but get called and treated like British "Victorians". Thus leading to inaccurate analysis.)
Safe to say, that I currently don't really like to engage with the fandom or discussions about the movie, mostly because I bought my theater ticket for very different reasons than "the Gothique". For all who enjoy monster romance, please enjoy them. My primary interest was that I like Eggers skripts, and his atmospheric horror, and historical detailed research, and I'm a big fan of Babelsberg era movies. (German expressionist cinema was so unbelievably influential on movie history. Not only for the many creative workers fleeing the Nazis and bringing their talent to Hollywood, Disney's most iconic animation sequences were stolen from largely inspired by Lang's work with lightning. By any means, watch "M", and it turns out every thriller after it hits the same plot beat, the same themes (for better or for worse), just the filming style changed.) And boy does Eggers play Easter Egg hunt for fans of the original in this movie! But I'm also wary of changes Eggers made, and in the over all context of the movie, it's history, it's screening time, especially the context around it, kinda missed the mark. Most of all, I'm a bit disappointment how linear the dialogue is. It leaves little room for ambiguity, lingering unease of the grander sphere of Wisborg, the world getting threatened by Orlock's presence. It also looses the poetic cinematic language from 1922 in which the image, or better the symbolism the image creates, speaks for itself. In 2024, Dr. von Frantz, and the Schema-nun couldn't have duetted more what kind of fearsome fiend Orlock is.
To say, many watched the movie for being a 1830s setting horror film (period aesthetics), they like vampires, Lily Rose Depp has the face and role to make sad girl coquette posts about - super fine reasons to watch a movie because different interests pull different people into the cinema. And I really hope the success will guarantee Eggers continuing his work. Where I see interpretations fail is not realizing that this movie is primarily a remake, and Eggers was still working along a story structure of a monster that breaks apart modernity as well as the assumed safety of the domestic sphere. In his movie, Eggers flips the idyll of imagined domesticity on it's head by having the home be unsafe in the first place. Moreso, Eggers was interested in exploring the character of Ellen Hutter who, in 1922, dies a noble yet unheroic death because in times of plague or social collapse no heroism can truly exist. And here's also a friction between Eggers' re-imagined domestic horror and the 1922 original which was about a structural social collapse, echoing the immediate trauma about surviving WWI, Germany being in an absolute state of mess after it, the abdication of the Hohernzollern family, surviving the Spanish flu pandemic, and being in the midst of a inflation that skyrocketed beyond the stratosphere. And all these fears of that time influenced the story functions of the changes Henrik Galeen made to the script, and in creating their own story. (That's why I resist very much the idea that Nosferatu 1922, or Nosferatu 2024 are "another Dracula interpretation" because it works on very different themes, Orlock represents different fears for a German audience in the 1920s, than Dracula to a British audience in the 1890s, the ending is massively different because they follow different themes, and Orlock is massively desexed to signal his monstrosity lying in death and decay he should represent. I mean, for everyone getting hot and bothered over Max Schreck, or Bill Skarsgård in their costumes respectively, seriously have fun, I genuinely mean it. But let's be real, the creative team did very much intended to make Orlock look repulsive.)
Oh, last but not least, Eggers movies are strongly contextual within their historical background. Katherine in "the VVitch" is the perfect victim by the devil to be groomed because she grows up in a zealous, oppressive community - with her father exiled she basically has no future prospects. (Hence her ending being tragic for her, not liberating.) "The Northman" is a straight up attempt at a saga version of the Danish myth of Hamlet. Hence why themes of fate and providence are concepts people take so seriously within this story.
So that's a long round-about way to get to Thomas: Thomas is never set out to be the hero, but Orlock is definitely the monster as harbringer of death, collapse, and pandemic. The horror in 1922 lay in the tragedy of a young couple wanting to start their life together yet the forces of nature and death rip them apart. And I tell you, in 1920s Germany, Ellen and Thomas were kissing and hugging at every occasion. But most of all, Thomas was an easily understandable protagonist to follow in 1922. He too was full of hope - and in dire need for money. The original movie stresses in an exposition card how well Knock pays his employees, no matter how much more ostentatiously "weird" Herr Knock's entire appearance is. To a 1920s German audience, a young man needing to leave his wife for making money would have made much more initial sense. And you know, in 2024/25 with rising inflation levels, and job insecurity, it does strike me as weird how many takes on Thomas do not take the financial insecurity into account in Thomas' actions. No, he's not career jockey. In fact the movie exposes how Thomas is financially indebted to Friedrich Harding (although Friedrich is being gracious about that matter), and at the bottom of the pecking order at work. There is so, so, so much more to say how the political landscape informs the human characters' values - and how the strain of fiances strain or ease their circumstances. @abbenai has written a wonderful post about how the historical context webs in the characters in regards of politics and finances which I highly recommend to read. X Finances, existential worries about money can gravely interfere with time and possibility for love, care, and affection. That already is a worrying factor for the Hutter household.
Everyone is confined by their times. Even Orlock is the creature of a time in which nobility had absolute rule. Hence he sets up a contract over Ellen's body not letting her voice count. He wants, he receives. He also bosses Herr Knock around without hesitance. The entire movie is very clear that living in the real world is an arduous fight for Ellen, especially when Thomas is gone. (At some point Anna and Thomas have split function, hence the "Harold, they're..." vibes between her and Ellen.) Thomas and Anna are also limited in their time in which, unlike Friedrich and Dr. Sievers showcase a lot of love for Ellen - Ellen's nervosity, breakdowns, and moodswings aren't to be scorned but the tended for.Husband, and best friend can not make anything better because they only can think of consolation. Behind it their intention to see Ellen cheered up. Their ignorance stems from them living relatively adjusted lives (Anna is almost a caricature in her hyper gender performance, looking angelic, pious, endlessly loving, having given birth twice (Louise and Clara seemingly children that did survive their infancy), eagerly awaiting birth of child no.3) who can't fathom anything that could shake up a person so deeply even echoing in their adult life. Yeah, with faults but well-intentioned. And Ellen often clings onto these too when feeling lost because they do actually help her to calm her down.
The turn comes after Thomas himself lives from the almost same horrors with Orlock. Now he truly understands what Ellen went through that she's haunted, and why. However, For him it's even more reason to care for her because now he finally understands her. "Let me go. I'm unclean." "Never."
By all means, it's questionable how easy life would have been for Ellen had she survived with Thomas in the real world burdened with the death of their friends, a society in which women had no perceived personhood, even less so any rights, Ellen getting bombarded with intimate questions about pregnancy and child bearing just shortly after Thomas and her got married. The alternative would be to be eaten away by an entity that openly states that it can not love, and wants Ellen to submit. In contrast Thomas is a relatively chill guy for his time, not pressuring Ellen to have sex or children (in fact Ellen initiates sex), and unlike man-of-his-time-peak-performer Friedrich, doesn't get annoyed with but stays loyal to Ellen. In life Ellen had Greta, had Anna, palyed with Louisa and Clara. And even when disaster struck, Ellen found unexpectedly understanding in Dr. von Frantz. In many ways, life was hard but not void of joy or worth to Ellen. Even in the most dire, insecure, harrowing times, having been badly scarred before, Ellen still finds a lover, a friend, a cat, and a an unexpected stranger that don't make her feel lonely and abandoned. That's the entire worth of Thomas Hutter and Anna Harding.
But yeah, shipping discourse is not really worth getting into. And at some point I think the movie doesn't hold this much substance to be discussed so thouroughly, especially not in it's love triangle dynamic. There, the discussion material exhausts itself quickly as the movie is not subtle about the characters' actions, Orlock's symbolism, and their intentions.
#I came here to have a good time talking about the Orlock shadow tribute#and I feel honestly attacked by the same of twilight level of lover boy team discussion right now.#Not you dear anon I'm trying to be funny...#Nosferatu 2024#Thomas Hutter#Lewis' ask box management

No one asked but here's some thoughts about Stephen's current and future life.
First of all (and to be completely honest), before Blood Hunt, I do think Stephen was starting to find joy in being the Sorcerer Supreme now that things were seemingly going well in his life.
Just to name a few, he befriended his general self, his marriage was rekindled, Mordo was finally locked down, Clea and Umar were starting to find a common ground (at least, they were not enemies anymore) and Donna II happened, blessing their lives. Stephen was finally thriving. He was executing his duties just fine despite the challenges of being Earth's magical defender. Conflict was obviously expected but it was far from the struggles he faced in v4, for instance. There was optimism.
The fact that he seems sad in that Pasqual's post could be about anything but if I was to predict why, I'd say it's because 1) he didn't want to pass the mantle down at this point in his life and 2) he didn't want to pass the mantle down to Victor specifically because well, it's Doom. And let's be real, Jed's interpretation of their relationship is not similar to T&T or Infamous Iron Man or even Secret Wars. Even if Victor is rarely portrayed as a villain these days (more like an antagonist), there's still a certain dread whenever he shows up in stories. So it's only natural for Stephen to be worried about what's coming next.
Personally, I think Victor will not be a bad Sorcerer Supreme. He's competent and incredibly complex. There's altruism in him, especially when it comes to protect Latverians and people in general (Doom 2099 my beloved). And let's not forget about his dramatic ego and petty personality. If anything, I'd go for a gray representation. He will not be the king of altruism (aka Stephen), but he will not be a shallow villain by desecrating the mantle (something I'm pretty sure Mordo would do. Hate that guy). That said... Oh, he's also in for a big surprise, not expecting the burden that comes with such a huge responsibility. But that's just my two cents. Could always be wrong. However, I still remember when he tried to go after Jericho and gave up as soon as the light of the Eye of Agamotto hit him, so... This idea does have canon support.
(panel merely illustrative; from an alt future/reality)
As for Stephen and Clea, what comes next for them? I know the fandom is desperate for domestic vibes and a peaceful era for them. But let's be real, it's Marvel. Also it's Stephen and Clea. For starters, Clea is still the Warlord of Manhattan, which means that area will remain under her protection, tying her to our dimension. As for Stephen... We know him, right? We know he will never stop doing what he does, Sorcerer Supreme or not. We have tons of magic characters doing their jobs. Even when magic was practically dead, he found a way to keep doing good because it's intrinsic of his personality. And let's not forget Wong and W.A.N.D. They still need someone reliable, and I hardly think they'll go for Victor when consulting all things mystical. Oh, and Strange Academy, of course.
Last but not least, every change in status quo hardly lasts more than a year or two in comic books. It happened so many times before: Salomé, Jericho, Loki, even Clea. It was only natural for Victor's turn, given how T&T is such an important book to their mythos.
As for me? I think it's not really fair for me to share my feelings assuming how much I love both Victor and Stephen. I've seen some unhappy fans (and I can't relate, sorry 🥲) and some excited ones.
The reason I'm still kinda blue is merely due to the lack of new announcements, whether it's a new Doctor Strange book or a mini featuring Victor. Also it's almost certain that Jed is done with his work, which hit me like a train. I really don't want to say goodbye to Jed just yet, and seeing his work continue with Moon Knight while going for the X-books makes me a bit bitter. There's still the possibility that he's staying, but it's all conjecture at this point. I mean, I dread that some bad writer comes next, and boi do I have a no-no list. Hopefully, SDCC will shed some light on these dark times of uncertainty.
Well, that's it. Do I ramble a lot? Was not expecting to write such a long post, sorry about that (old testament me comeback?). Just wanted to write down my thoughts since they were making a mess in my head. If anything, I'll still be around for whatever comes next. After all, my love for Stephen knows no shame 🔥

I am glad I found someone that is highly critical of the LOV, because I have to be honest, that’s all these guys needed up being: destroy the world because we want to! If they wanted to prove the glaring flaws in society, I’d be willing to at least understand why I should care about them. But nothing about their actions makes me care about them. Yes they had sad backstories, but that only goes so far.
I wanted your opinion on something.
I have been especially critical on Toga, because no matter how many times I try to understand her, she only seemed to harm and ruin Ochako’s character more. In my perspective, people always seem to criticize Ochako for being nothing more than a satellite character to Izuku (where THAT honor goes to Bakugou), and I feel Toga’s part of the problem for this critique because that is literally their ONLY connection together: their shared feelings with a boy.
People will say both of them have repressed feelings and that Toga helped Ochako feel she can express those feelings.
As if Ochako isn’t surrounded by other characters that are expressive and outgoing or that she doesn’t have alternatives, like I don’t know, her parents, a teacher, Tsuyu, or Mina. People a lot more stable and less murdery in “expressing themselves”. Their whole reason for being foils just seems so forced and it drives me up the wall what happened to Ochako.
And the stans of Toga and the shippers don’t help. Especially when they seem so content on reducing Ochako to being nothing more than a love interest for Toga that is just meant to be her personal food source and to make it all about her.
I don’t hold it against Ochako for wanting to help her as she is a hero, but how it was written and how she feels responsible for Toga when it was in no way her responsibility for Toga’s actions.
Am I wrong for thinking this way?
Absolutely not!
One of the things I criticize most about Horikoshi's writing aside from the contradictory character development lines, is not having a consistency outside of panels when it comes to ALL the characters.
This theme of Uraraka and repressed feelings also enters into Hawks' plot which consists of heroes being able to have free time (i.e. personal lives).
From the first year she represses her feelings and adapts to the current conditions of heroism which are reduced to serving the public as a security tool against villains of all kinds and catastrophes
And she's not the only one, the entire class stops having a personal life and extracurricular activities from the moment they start at UA, and it's something that Horikoshi points out in SBS mentioning that those who enter the hero course can't even enter UA clubs.
In order for Uraraka to realize that what she does is wrong, since the performance of a hero is not tied to his feelings or relationships, I think the right people would have been Midnight and Mic.
And I don't say this only because they, unlike Aizawa, know that students are still children and not soldiers, but because they are already experienced heroes who were unable to properly build a life after graduating.
Furthermore, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if thanks to those two the things changed for class A. In canon, Horikoshi makes the teachers stay out of class A's problems because Aizawa is the Homeroom Teacher, but logically and according to the personalities of the teachers, Aizawa should have been dismissed from his position between the final exams and the provisional license tests.
Having Midnight or Mic as Class A's Homeroom teacher means that they could slowly vent about their responsibilities and worries.
(Yes, Aizawa "helped" Yaoyorozu with the trust issue, but other than that it was a "fix your own problems" thing.)
With them being treated like people her age, Uraraka would realize that being a hero doesn't exclude you from having at least a moment of life and lets her feelings be free like her whenever she can, and this triggers the doubt in Uraraka's head about "who saves the heroes if they are also people?" little by little transforming into "how is a villain born?"
This is shared with Midoriya (at this point you can imagine that they are a couple in their first steps or that Uraraka is preparing to ask him out) and from here both of them do introspection on the subject to the point where they ask themselves a question that they should have asked since the camp arc:
What happened to the league to end up like this?
I'm not saying anything about them immediately deciding to save them, but that with time and thanks to Tsukauchi and All Might they discover on their own the origin of Toga, Shigaraki, Spinner and Twice, and think about those problems sharing it with the class in their free time or among themselves
You can imagine that over time they both decide to help the league, but with the same result, since as I said Horikoshi has written to the league to point out the flaws in the hero system and still die because his characters don't have the common sense to have a logical evolution.
