I would like to introduce my Rook. Damari Ingellvar 👉👈
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Growing up her closest friends were the spirits and wisps in the Necropolis. Like Taash mentions during her argument with Emmerich, Rook’s necromancy is more focused on spirits rather than raising corpses, but her research is actually very musically inclined. They say music is the language of the soul so of course she has to find out how and which spirits react to certain pitches and musical compositions. Naturally this has led her to learn how to play a few instruments. So she’s often found in the Lighthouse’s music room and that elven bass in her room isn’t just for show. It’s not uncommon to hear her humming a new tune to herself especially when she’s in a good mood and is completely focused on a task. Of course depending on what that task is, her humming might come off as endearing or creepy. Kind and optimistic she’s usually supporting her team and allies wholeheartedly and tries to lighten the mood with some sarcasm and jokes. That said she can be surprisingly daring sometimes. Probably why she was so interested in a certain demon possessed assassin. She always did like dancing with demons.

here friend, I'll help you: when you realize the characterization isn't to your liking, go ahead and do me a favor -- scroll up to the top right of your screen and hit that big red X button. there, problem solved.
also don't bookmark it. I'm so freaking tired of having this conversation.

I love Star Trek, but It’s one of those shows that to truly love it, you have to realise that it can be a BAD show
Don’t get me wrong it’s such a great show in terms of characters and storytelling MOST OF THE TIME!!! but if anybody comes to me and tells me that “Sub Rosa is a secret classic” or “a night in sickbay is so misunderstood” I will throw them so far that astronauts will get whiplash
Not only that but there are so many episodes where I just wish they could’ve done the characters more justice…example, not underusing women characters, especially in TNG, or not randomly switching up someone’s personality because you really want to tell a specific plot that would need them to act like that.
And the more you learn about the behind the scenes of Star Trek, the more I want to go back in time and rip the Star Trek franchise straight out of Gene Rodennberry’s hands and claim it as my own, because some of the stuff that happened off camera is actually horrible! (Go look up the things that he and so many people who worked on the show did)
I mean in the end Star Trek is a usually fun franchise! But it is a FLAWED franchise, and to love Star Trek is to question the choices of Star Trek or something

Just to clarify my thoughts (since I've had a number of people ask me about it) re: Job and cursing God. There's a big difference between cursing God as used in Scripture and how we generally would think of cursing at God today.
Cursing someone, in the Bible, has a lot of depth to it. It's not just saying "screw you " in anger, it's got a sense of forsakenness to it. It's the opposite of a blessing, a removal of blessing. If the blessing is presence, your face shining on the person you're blessing, then a curse is absence. In some translations, Job's wife tells him to "renounce God and die," which I honestly think makes a lot more sense to modern ears.
Job says a lot of unpleasant things to and about God in his anger and grief. So do the Psalmists. A number of the Prophets. So can we. God can take it if we come to him with honest expressions of our emotion, including those not-so-nice ones directed at him. I don't think there's anything wrong with getting mad at God and saying, "How dare you, you bastard" when you suffer unjustly. You can say much worse, I think, without sinning, though I don't feel particularly inclined to give examples. But as long as it's an honest expression of your heart, I think you're doing exactly what prayer is for. You're presenting him your heart with an open hand. He can use that. Opposite of love is not hate but indifference, etc.
Job doesn't renounce God. Neither should we. But I think when you're truly suffering, you're gonna have those feelings toward God either way. He'd rather you address them with him directly than try to avoid them. Cursing at God in the modern sense is actually a great way to keep the relationship strong and not end up cursing/renouncing him in the Biblical sense.

It feels so weird seeing my Tumblr and Twitter tls going crazy over the Riptide hiatus update and PD being on break still meanwhile I’m here like “the last thing Apotheosis related we’ve gotten has been the Thanny Nation shirt. While back they said they would do an Apotheosis bad ending What If but it has yet to exist. Omg Total Monster Kill soundtrack I still need to listen to that.

I think George has not given any public reason to hate or like him in an over the top way. Like he is just there. His comments are harmless, he is not problematic, he is not doing over the top community work, he keeps it to himself, and his car all year has been top midfield, etc. People often dont put him on top bc he is forgetable, not in a bad way. He is PR trained, but so are the other 19 drivers.
I mean, let me be totally clear, I think George is probably a menace. He probably IS annoying in a bit of a devious and cheeky way, but he's not hurting me when he's doing it, and if he's only using his powers for evil against the other vroom vroom millionaires then... fine. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, because honestly it's of no real consequence to anyone. It's all a game and it's not that deep.
I think the post about George seeing the stewards room as an extension of the race track is spot on and to be perfectly honest, if he's using his knowledge of the rules to make persuasive cases to the stewards then I have no issue with that. Its no different to Max using his knowledge of the rules to report other drivers, George has just extended the usefulness of that skill. All good drivers do have a level of cunning that they employ to their advantage and its honestly funny that the two drivers who seem to have made the most noise about him doing it - Max and Fernando - are the two drivers who themselves use shithousery to their own advantage.
That's personally why I've always been drawn to George, because he IS a bitch, he does fight his corner, he's not afraid to get his elbows out but he's not an asshole with it. The only time I've seen him really lose it - with Valtteri that time - he's apologised profusely for since and taken ownership for.
I think he doesn't get his flowers enough, and that's why it was so nice to hear so much positivity about him after Vegas. I'm not saying he wasn't on one in Qatar, he probably was high on his own supply a bit, but it's been a long season and I can't fault him for wanting to win.
I don't know why some people hate him so much - the criticisms he gets levelled at him are such a contradiction it just feels like he can't win. He's too fake and PR, but he wears his heart on his sleeve and is overemotional...? So we're just hating him for not striking the perfect balance of composure are we? He seems to trigger a very specific type of toxic masculinity within certain F1 fans?
But as you say, for now he seems utterly harmless. Genuinely enthusiastic about racing, eager to please, up for a laugh, even if it's at his own expense. Maybe he doesn't get it right all the time, but none of them do, and despite weird journalists claiming otherwise, he does genuinely seem to get along with all of the other drivers, or at least make an effort too?

anyone interested in talking about the iconic 2000's middle-grade-bordering-on-ya book series gallagher girls??
#okay incoming rant about this series#i read the first book when i was 10 or 11 and i was absolutely obssessed with it. i read it so many times i had the entire story memorized#the issue was that i could not find the rest of the series anywhere. it was either sold out or out of stock#and then i found out that only the first 3 books had been translated into my first language so at that point i kinda gave up on them#anyway#flashforward to a couple of weeks ago#i was re organizing my bookshelf and on the back i found LYKY (is this how y'all are abreviating it??)#and remembred how much i loved it#and since i'm now fluent in english and was stuck at home recovering from a surgery i decided to download the entire series and read it#to find out what the fuck happened afterwards#long story short i read all six books in 4 or 5 days#and i haven't stopped thinking about them since#it's actually so funny how little information we have in the first book#i went all of these years thinking it was mostly a silly series about a boarding school for spies when actually SO MUCH happens afterwards#i can't believe i went all of these years unaware of zach goode's existence#truly character of all time#but also i can't stop thinking about how interesting it would have been if zach had come to hate the circle and his mom during the series#rather than before#make it a true enemies to lovers#and have us witness that portion of his character developement in real time instead of being told about it#like him slowly realizing through cammie and his time at gallagher that maybe what they were doing is wrong#i think it would have been very interesting to read#although let's be real it took me until halfway through book four to trust him and he was fully one of the good guys so..#but yeah i have a lot more to say but these tags are long enough#gallagher girls#okay i just want to add another funny anecdote about my experience with this series#my copy of LYKY has an age warning in the back recomending that readers should be above 13 yo to read it#and i distinctly remember finishing it and thinking the warning was kind of dumb bcs besides a few mentions of death and other heavier topi#nothing really happened#and now i realize it was a warning for the rest of the series not just the first book because jesus fucking chirst everything after

If we are talking about popular ships we dislike I gotta say my biggest is Elias/Peter. It irks me because it's basically treated as canon, probably because their VAs have talked about it, but there's absolutely nothing in canon to suggest they were romantically or sexually involved.
The thing is their relationship is interesting to me. They have a sort of one sided rivalry where Peter is trying to thwart Elias's plans and Elias is pretty easily playing him. Actually as I'm writing this I'm realizing I could get behind one-sided Peter/Elias, with Elias being the only person Peter cares about at all but to Elias Peter is just another pawn in his plan.
But I don't like the fanon version of their relationship because it's so out of character for both of them.
ohh yeah, i absolutely get that. lonelyeyes is a fun ship overall, but it's also the source of some of the more obvious mischaracterizations of both characters.
i hate that so much fanon content just. completely mischaracterizes peter in order to make him this stoic, quiet, easily annoyed figure, when in canon, he's pretty much the opposite. he's overly cheerful in an empty way, he's extremely talkative but never says what you want to hear, he's such an excellent portrayal of what the lonely really is and i hate that people just ignore that in favor of a trope. he's not shy, he just genuinely loves being excluded socially and thrives on others' discomfort. he's not lonely, he's of the lonely. he's the guy at the party that makes you feel like you're not supposed to be there. he's the guy that reminds you, with a wide grin and genuine joy, that you'll always be alone.
peter lukas is an excellent character. the fanon portrayal of peter lukas is a different guy entirely.

it's kind of like insanely isolating that literally every aspec or "ace & aro" space I've found has been in actuality, solely for aces. perhaps arospec aces or aroaces who entirely prioritize their asexuality could also find company there, but even as an aromantic person who is also asexual, they're really not intended for me. so I can only imagine how isolating it must be if you're aromantic and allosexual
#I went to this aspec club on campus last fall‚ and cliquiness aside‚ they were literally talking about dating in there. like one guy was all#''I've been talking to this girl.... you think I should get her number?'' yada yada yada#like ok I guess this is just for asexuals then.#I can put up with hearing vague romance talk in other situations but in an allegedly 'aro and ace' club? nah fam#also‚ the first time I went (I gave up after the second meeting lol)‚ we went around and introduced ourselves and then you could say what#kind of aspec you were if you wanted to#and everyone was saying asexual‚ with maybe 4 or 5 aroaces‚ and then when it got to me I said ''aromantic‚ probably asexual'' and they just#all looked at me weird#maybe I imagined that. I'm bad at reading expressions#but cmon. imagine if I'd said aro straight or aro gay or smth#anyway I really do not like how the aspec community as a whole prioritizes asexuality over aromanticism#partially it's likely bc asexual used to mean aroace before the SAM was a thing#but I think its also bc people can imagine going without sex in a relationship (although they may conflate it with celibacy) (and not to say#people treat alloaces well at all lol)#(but the idea of someone eschewing romance entirely‚ whether they (want to) have sex or not‚ is still widely horrifying or confusing or#scary to many people. including other queer people and including asexual people#)#I'd make my tag rant into an actual post if I was sure I could word it right lol#aro#aromantic#aroallo#aroace#non sam aro#o.

Hi I was jus wondering how do you decide which panel you animate.
Also why did you decided to animate this comic? For practice? Simply because you want it? For revenge?
Also do you have any tipp for starter animaters how to start animating what kind of animations should they start with.
Love the comic can't wait for more. Please be healthy (it's good for your health)
Sending lot of love with hugs (if you like hugs)
by vibe, mostly
This is animated kind of for practice, kind of just because I think is fun and intresting to mix comic and animation, and yeah I guess a bit of revange, if thats the right word on this case cause there was another comic I wanted to do this with and chickened out of it (maybe the correct for of it would be avenge?🤔)
Now let me go into story mode:
When I was starting this au I was just gonna do One's concept design and the one scene that got stuck in my head: him dropping down for his introduction, and that was it
So I thought "I could make this an animatic" and I started storyboarding it on my sketchbook and then went "wait this is too much work, I don't wanna do it.... I'm gonna make it a comic" but there was That Shot that I had in mind and so clearly and I wanted to see it in motion so bad
Animation in comics is something that has gotten stuck in my head for close to a decade, long ago (in a galaxy far far away) I saw these zelda comics by Zac Gorman
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it was the first time I saw a comic animated, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then I saw a gifset of the How to Train Your Dragon "Downed Dragon" scene with Hiccup walking on the forest and it was composed as a comic, but they were gifs of the movie, I think that's what settled it in my mind that I would want to tell a story that way at some point
But I didnt know how to animate or make comics
So I started practicing, one step at the time, I decided to start with making comics (I started drawing my httyd fic since it basically was already scripted, but I realized how complicated that was and gave up lmao)
I've used the putting some animation to comics before, in small forms and not that often, really, but I was practicing for that moment when I had a Big Story for me to tell in that medium. Thing I have now and I'm working on!
So I took on httyd comics again and used another au I had to practice long form comics and animation on comics with it. I realized at some point that I was biting more than I could chew and decided to tone it down and keep it to just comic, I would get the oportunity to practice animation-comic making at some other point
And so this au came in taking down my door
I used what I had storyboarded as thumbnails for the comic and decided to make some small bits with simple animation and That Shot fully animated frame by frame (the original idea I could never make it look good so I settled for something simpler, I still want to try and re-do that animation, not to change the comic, but just as a bonus mostly for myself)
So yeah
It's been for pratice when I finally get to do my original story (that I'm working on rn)
Just cause I want to cause it looks cools and I've been mening to do something like this for so long
And I'm avenging that first httyd comic I tried to do and kinda the current httyd comic cause I took out the animation of that one
As for tips for biginer animators?
I should say learn the animation principles since those are your bases, everyone hates doing the bouncing ball cause is boring but is actually a good start.
but honeslty? chose a guy and go nuts with it <- thats my tip of how to improve on anything art related, making fanart of httyd has gotten me this far

It's infinitely humorous to me how, in 2025, we're still having conversations and discussions - discoursing, as the children say - about why Jason's on screen death matters more than any of the other on screen deaths within the Bat comics.
A Death in the Family was the end of the road for Jason. He was meant to die and stay dead. This is rare for comic book characters because the medium is serialization taken to its (il)logical extreme. Removing a character from the chess board is a waste. There's always something Deeper^TM.
Not with Jason.
That bitch was dead and he was supposed to stay dead.
The only other Robin who died and was meant to stay dead was Stephanie. And let's be fucking real here - most of you do not care about that girl. You're not thinking about her, you're thinking of your favorite Batboy. And that's fine!! But let's not kid ourselves here.
There's a million reasons why Jason's death is a cut above most other deaths in the Batfam that we can discourse endlessly about but the main one - the one that truly matters, imo - is that he died was supposed to stay that way.
A Death in the Family was supposed to be his curtain call. It is not cruel or callous to say that that was not the case for your Blorbo.
I can imagine that some JT stans are being cruel and callous when they say that, but then again, a lot of Batstans are being cruel and callous when they say Jason's death wasn't that big a deal and he needs to get over it. They're being cruel and callous when they compare their faves' on screen death to his, as if they werent gonna get their fave character back within six months to a year, tops. That their fave wasn't gonna slot their way back into their spot in the narrative, as if they never left.
And, if I may,.it's honestly fucked up to high heavens that some of y'all are okay with the writers killing off your fave for cheap character drama just so you can lord it over JT stans. I know most of y'all don't think of it that way, but how else am I supposed to see that?! You talk about a potentially traumatizing event as if it's just some kind of Gotcha you can use to shut up people you don't like.
Friend, that's fucked.
Anyway, I've said what I needed to say. I don't expect y'all to care for my Blorbo the way I do cause that's not how that works. But can we exercise the baring hints of critical thinking?!
I'm begging.
#Jason Todd#Batsalt#Today's rant brought to you by someone typing an essay about how cruel it is for JT stans to minimize the impact of the other Bats...#...on screen deaths for their specialest goodest boy#Not realizing that they themselves are being a apecial kind of cruel and callous by acting as is a character being dead for less than a...#...a yeah is the same as one being dead for almost twenty#Y'all hate to admit it but 90% of on screen deaths are done with the intent of being reversed#It's as I said in the post - cheap character drama#Jason dying was not cheap character drama#He was not meant to leave that grave#DC spent almost 20 years making sure we knew that he deserved to be there#Shit#Tim Fucking Drake as a character was created to double down on Jason's death being permanent#Is it any fucking wonder that a wtiter got the genius - gag - idea to have them do the vigilante/super hero version of...#...a Denny's parking lot fight to the death?!#Idk#Once again I am preaching to the choir#I only expect my fellow JT kinnies to get this#Cause the other side of this is that DC turned Jason into a character that easy to hate#They greenlit stories of being callous and cruel to not only the Bats#But to other heroes within the community#Post UtRH they literally went I can make him worse#AND PROCEEDED TO DO JUST THAT#Is it any wonder that other Batstans don't hold any empathy for him?!#The narrative spent 20 years victim blaming him for his death#And then spent another 5 to 10 post res doubling down on it#It's fucking diabolical when you think about it#So like#I'm gonna stop now#Jace says

miles truly does love music SO fucking much and he expresses it in the most beautiful ways. like how he throws himself into all sorts of projects, whether it's something he's initiated/was involved in from the conception (like w the puppets and the upcoming mk and the evils) or something he's been invited to collaborate on—regardless of whether this means he's working w big names or lesser known artists—or even just the way he supports & celebrates other musicians. you can see that he delights in all of these; it's so clear that he does it all purely for the love of music. and that's why i find it incredibly upsetting when he's written off as a flop just bc he doesn't enjoy the same level of success as a certain other act. it's awful that to this day, people still have such a narrow definition of success, that they refuse to see beyond sales or charts and that they can't at the least acknowledge that miles is someone who pursues his passion. like yeah i'm certain that he has goals for himself that he hasn't yet achieved, but that hasn't stopped him! bc year after year he still puts everything he has into whatever he does, and he does so wholeheartedly. his work ethic is genuinely inspiring. i just wish people could see that.
