Whenever I watch this scene I always find it so funny because

the situation is this: they have just confessed their long hidden away feelings for each other, that they share dreams and Kim has just run out last minute (literally) from her wedding passing by Kim, Wan, and Marwin’s families.

And here’s Wan being like…so, you wanna go grab some dinner or…?

And Kim is like “For real?” and Wan is like “yeah, for real, why?”

So Wan proceeds to take a seat on the opposite bench. Just two girls, sitting by the barbecue, five feet apart cause they’re not gay.

And the whole situation is too funny because you can tell that Kim is ready to get down to business, but Wan is pushy, and stubborn, and unapologetic for everything except her feelings for Kim, and Kim is uncapable of initiating anything herself, so instead of jumping into bed they have a heartfelt conversation and afterwards Kim asks: “so what do we do now?”

To which we all know what the obvious answer is. Except Wan who is like “let’s grill some food! 😃”

And Kim is like ???? but ok.

Like it’s clear that Wan wants to get down to business as well, but she’s being respectful of Kim. TOO respectful, in fact. But then Kim touches her with one (1) fingertip and she literally loses all resolve.

But when Kim pulls away, she’s already overcome with regret, like “oh, no, I’ve scared my lady with my senseless passionate impulse. Damn, my ardent personality, my fiery heart!"

While Kim says something which is barely code for “let’s take this to the bed.”

Then, Wan, back in her role of gentlewoman, offers to grill her marshmallows while Kim changes into something comfortable. And Kim looks at her like “…are you fucking kidding me rn?”

And it takes all of 30 seconds for the penny to drop for Wan and finally follow her inside.

Okay this scene though? I think about it a lot it’s so good

Like he felt outcasted and felt like there was something wrong with him. He felt like people despised him, making him see people as monsters and he felt like he was below everyone because he couldn’t understand them.

maybe it’s just me but I think this scene gives us a good idea of why Ranpo acts the way he does in this arc. Who could blame him? He thought he wasn’t special and that everyone was just playing a trick on him

Then when fukuzawa gives him the glasses and his world is filled with color?? Yesss
