it quells the stinging on his chin - the edge of his lip, bloody. a back-alley brawl that's left the former-general with a swollen smile and purple tainting red. his drink does well to ease any pain; the edge of a fifth that sees bitter whiskey be medicine. with a grimace and a suck of his teeth, he holds a hot breath before he asks for another.

only as his attention's turned from drink for a second does he see the man across the bar; another brawler? another lost soul? just like him-

whatever or whoever the man; he's caught the eyes of a warrior, once savage. a man whose name would have been in the paper yesterday; who, today - is nothing more than anyone else. just another night time face, sitting at the bar, crimson on his lips and liquor waiting to be shared. despite his drink being delivered, he holds his gaze on the other long enough for him to surely notice - and then -

a smirk; the smallest curve of his lip, the bare of fangs between plump lips. a look that dares not look away from desire - a look that simply dares.

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)

the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)

all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)

She wasn't going to cry. So what if they'd taken the first chance they’d gotten to kick her out of the tower that had been allotted to her kind after they'd arrived. She didn't need them; she was fine on her own...

If that was true, why did it feel like this?

Lips pressing into a thin line, she crossed the rampart to nearly the other side of the hold and made her way down the stairs and into the garden. There was a small tower there that had yet to be claimed, perhaps the Inquisition allow her to use it.

Or maybe one of their templars would be stationed to watch her like in the circle? Or would they just tell her to leave?

It took some effort to push the door from it's frame, and a good deal more to force it open against the junk that had been left inside to be forgotten. Broken brooms and dishes. Pots and pottery. Shelves and chairs and tables and all manner of odds and ends that looked like they needed to be burned long ago.

She was staring helplessly at the mess before her when someone stepped around her. Ansal said nothing as he started to tidy the space, offering a smile as she watched him with what was likely confusion on her features. Here to help whenever she needed it.

It was the smile that undid her. A sign that their friendship hadn't been severed by her ejection from the tower--the only one that had proven so, it seemed. So, with tears escaping down her cheeks, she stepped into a waiting hug and sobbed as he murmured a gentle reassurance that he somehow knew she needed to hear.
