i started playing spider-man ps4 in like. 2018. and i didn’t get super far into it but then i just kinda didn’t really use the ps4 until this week, and i’ve gone back to play (and hopefully finish) it, and either i don’t remember 80% of it or i just missed SO much last time lmao

Okay, I haven’t seen The Hollow in upwards of like 4-3 years and generally I do not think about it very much, but this thought popped into my head like a month ago out of nowhere and I feel like a fucking moron for not realising this immediately let alone several years after watching the goddamn show. (In my defence, I was like. A child.)

Everything in the show actually suggests Adam was not very strong at all in real life rather than the other way round. He’s a gaming nerd who obsesses over this niche competition, his biggest fear is his bullies that beat him up when he was like 10 and he has trouble judging/controlling his own strength in the first season.

Like I’m only posting this because I want to let the world know how much of an idiot I am, but it also gave me a lot of thoughts.

Something about a kid who’s been kicked around and beat up and singled out for most of his life immediately choosing strength as his ability in the tournament, man. Sort of reframes the ridiculous scene where a much older teenager who could probably snap their spines without breaking a sweat is terrified of a few ten year olds. Especially with how Adam seems so relaxed once they get into the game, but once he’s in his hometown in the second season (look I know it’s technically not the real Adam shut up) he’s suddenly on edge all the time. Get this guy to therapy please.

And also y’know the comedic value of Adam going “Uh maybe I go to the gym or something.” now realising Adam probably is only vaguely aware of the concept of a gym because he’s a nerd who probably needs to touch grass lmao (same though).

From Predator to Prey

AN: as y’all can probably tell, I’m caught up on tickletober & posted all the ones I’ve already written. So things might be a little slower the rest of the month lmao. Enjoy some goofy Tinkoffski fluff for day 16!

Ted was running for his life down endless yellow halls. Sometimes, he would get lucky enough to be released back into the real world, but no matter how much time has passed, he always ends up back here.

"Oh Teddybear, where'd you goooo?" the yellow goat monstrosity's voice echoed down the halls in a singsong tone. "You know I'll just find you again. It's inevitable."

The walls stretched in front of him, making the next exit seem miles away. Ted wasn't as fazed as he was the first few times, but he knew going that way would be pointless. He also knew that that... thing didn't plan on hurting him, but he honestly wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not, given the circumstances. Apparently, he'd broken too many "toys" in the past, and was trying to "be gentle" with him.

Of course, his version of gentle apparently meant tickling him past the point of delirium, and then some.

Ted caught his breath around a corner, heart pounding in his chest as he listened to the beast of a man get closer.

"Come on out, I promise I'm not gonna hurt you!" He sounded close now, and he could hear the loud rhythmic clack of his hooves. Ted pressed his back against the wall, wishing he could just disappear.

"The longer you hide, the longer I get to tickle you," he taunted, dragging out the last two words as his voice jumped in pitch. Ted felt goosebumps race down his skin as nervous butterflies filled his stomach. He forced himself to slow his breath; he could not let himself be found.

He could see his shadow looming around a corner, and Ted mentally prepared himself. He could do this. Easy as pie. Nothing to it. Just get him before he gets you.

If Ted was going to act, he needed to do so now.

Tinky had shrunk to his more human form, intent on dishing out a more humane form of torture. He wanted this toy to last, not like the countless others. He was starting to... feel things for this pathetic little plaything, and despite Nibbly's incessant warning, he stopped wanting to hurt him. And so he shifted to mind games within the maze, torture him with his own fucked up memories until he's gone mad.

And then that got boring, but if he were being honest it... upset him seeing him like that. And suddenly he didn't want to scare him either.

He wanted Ted to like him. Fuck, he wanted Ted to like him so bad. He needed it. He wanted to trap him in his box forever. He wanted to hug him so tight he pops. And yet, he refrains. Instead, he gives him the gift of endless laughter, and Ted still looks at him with nothing but fear in those dazzling eyes. He still screamed and ran every time he saw him. Why couldn't he see just how nice he was being?

He just barely rounded another corner when he was tackled from the side. He landed flat on his back with a weight settling across his waist. What the-

"Teddybear? What's the meaning of thihihis? Hehehey, wahahait!" he giggled in surprise as wiggling fingers plunged under his arms.

“Don’t call me that! Now listen up asshole, you’re gonna let me go, or else,” he threatened. He drilled his thumbs in the center of his hollows, drawing tight circles. Tinky threw his head back with a snort, followed by a string of loud, frantic cackles. Ted paused to let him answer, partly shocked by how effective his touch had been.

Tinky gasped for breath, staring at him with a dazed smile, eyes sparkling. “O-or else what?”

Ted sighed and made a show of cracking his knuckles. “Or else I’ll tickle you for all eternity or whatever. Or until you break and decide to let me go. Your choice,” he flashed a condescending smile, settling his hands right on his ribcage.

Tinky jumped at the movement, nervous giggles pouring out. Ted cocked his head in amusement. “Really? I haven’t even done anything yet,” he taunted, letting his restless fingers twitch. Tinky flinched with a whine.

“B-but I cahan’t just let you go! It doesn’t wohohork lihike thahahahat!” he pleaded even as he broke down in giggles.

“Sure it does! You can let me go whenever you want; you just don’t want to. But that’s okay, I’ll change your mind,” he spoke casually as he began kneading into his ribs. Tinky sputtered and burst out laughing, arching into the touch. “I mean, I literally have nothing else to do except tickle the hell outta you. How long do you think you can laugh before you tap out? Whatever you are, your stamina’s gotta be crazy! I bet you can go a week, minimum!”

“A week? Nohoho! Plehease, you cahahan’t!” he cried out through helpless shrieks and squeals. He cackled and thrashed beneath Ted when his hands lowered to squeeze his sides and belly. He tried to grab the offending hands, but wasn’t able to keep his grip. He screeched and kicked his legs out when he hit a bad spot.

“Pretty fuckin’ ironic how the tickle monster is deathly ticklish,” Ted taunted, vibrating a clawed hand over his tummy.

Tinky felt himself honest to God blush at his words. “Noho I’m nohohot!” he denied, shaking his head as he bucked his hips. That only drew his attention.

“Oh, what’s this? Are your hips ticklish too?” he asked, latching onto the bone and squeezing relentlessly.

“OHOHO SHIHIHIT! Stohohop! Thahahat’s sohoho BAHAHAD!” he wailed as soon as he grabbed his waist.

“Oh, it’s bad? Well it can’t be worse than any of the times you got me! I don’t even know how long you kept at it, so I’ll be honest, I really don’t feel sorry for you! So I think I just might keep at it loooong after you finally give up, just to teach you a lesson.”

Tinky giggled and squirmed on the ground. “Thahat’s nohohot fahahair!” he whined, hiding his face behind a hand. “I-I just wahahanna hahahave sohome fun! I dihidn’t dohoho ahahanythihing!” he tried to insist his innocence. Ted scoffed and barked out a laugh.

“Uh, yeah, sure,” he said in a mocking, condescending tone. He scribbled across his tummy, relishing in the squeal of shock that followed. “You have to know to deserve this,” he taunted.

“Nohoho I dohohon’t!”

“Mmm, you’ll have to try harder than that if you wanna convince me. But hey, for all I know, you’re probably loving this-” He was. “I honestly see the appeal, think I might just have to do this every time you drag me here.”

“Noooo!”

“That was such a yes no,” Ted chuckled at the strange monster’s endearing reactions. He really could get used to this.

“Ohohokahahay fine! Maybe I dohoho deserve aha little punishment,” he admitted through giggles.

“Glad you agree. Now, let’s see how long it takes for you eldritch motherfucker to tap out.”

“Wahahait, Teheheddy don’t! I’m sorry, I-I won’t do it again! AHA NO! Not there, please! I’m like, crazy ticklish, you cahahan’t!”

“Aw, that’s good to know and really fuckin’ cute! Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to put that information to good use.” Tinky felt his heart racing in his chest; Ted was flirting and teasing him, and he fucking winked at him when he pinched his waist, and he couldn’t stand it.

Tinky laid there, trapped beneath a monster of his own making. And he didn’t mind one bit.

apologies for my absence- holiday periods are tiring lmao how were they for you? unfortunately we have yet to watch the fnaf movie, as our group is one that is exceedingly difficult to make plans around because we're all busy 💀 but then there's the one guy who doesn't want to leave his house lmao luckily, iv'e been pretty good at staying away from spoilers, so i've got that going for me. on the other hand, i'm planning to go see Trolls 3, and my mother and sister recently went to see the new Wonka movie. Though from what i've heard from a friend, Wonka's no good :// Yeahhh, if i actually commit to the mod, i'd have to learn pixel art and reteach myself code and programming 😭... i used to be somewhat decent at it. oooo yes i love a good choose your own adventure! they're so much fun and i've actually coded 1 of my own :,) it was through Visual Basics though, so the formatting was a bit weird for me lmao if you're going for a visual novel type of look and playability, I'd probably recommend Unity or itch.io? in my experience, Unity is probably easier to use.. theres another website/app i used but i can't recall the name sadly :( if i do i'll get back to you though! i don't have that much of a detailed request this time, but perhaps some fluff and love languages between rasmodius and the reader? or like hcs of rasmodius's evolving interest/thoughts arund the reader before finally getting together? i'd perhaps request nsfw/smut stuff too but tbh i just don't have any ideas 💛 tysmm :D -🔮

Okay so there are five main types of love languages.

Physical touch, Words of Affirmation, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Quality Time.

I would also like anyone reading this to remember that these love languages are how you want to be loved/receive love not how you show love to others.

I do think that Rasmodius is very connected to himself

And by that I mean I think he knows himself very well, or at least he thinks he knows himself very well.

And for a long time I think he probably thought that Quality Time and Physical Touch were his main two love languages.

I mean idk if it’s canon but in my opinion I do think he cheated on the witch with Caroline

And I’m not gonna go into it here because this isn’t about them, but I think it might’ve had to do with that and his own struggles with temptations.

And I also think gift giving is canon for literally every single character in stardew because that’s the main way to befriend someone.

But I think that after marrying you/beginning to date you he realizes that his actual love language is words of affirmation.

While Physical touch and quality time are still very important to him, being with you makes him see that he really does like being praised.

Like whenever you say that he has done something well, or that you like something he has done his heart flutters as if he were a teenager again.

Especially when it comes to his magic

Like I feel like the townspeople aren’t really fond of him

And they never thank him for the things that he does whenever they actually need him for stuff

It was also filmed the same day as DIL CLONES A SIM which was the video posted before this one. (Also chaotic, and the source of my most meaningless DNP theory).

They left Vancouver on August 16 (1, 2), so this video was posted once they were already in Australia, the same day as one of their shows in Brisbane. (Can we talk about what else they posted from Australia? That month was extremely…something 1, 2).

This was the fourth (and ‘final,’ obviously 😅) of their videos playing Google Feud. ‘Excitement mixed with terror’ indeed.

WHAT were they thinking when they edited and posted this?! I mean...it is a lot. They must have looked at the footage and then decided to just really lean into it with the edit as well. And I love it. During the Cambridge WAD preshow, Dan was asked if they were high during filming. 😂 A very common theory, but at least during the 2018ish era Dan always seemed pretty ‘meh’ about weed, so I tend to believe that they were just really really tired and horny. 🤐 Or I could see maybe a bit drunk.

We were living on DAPG content (and tour insta stories and Rize 😅 live shows I suppose)—the last main channel video was What Dan and Phil Text Each Other from mid-July, and there wouldn’t be another until the mukbang video in October after the tour ended. The next DAPG video was Dumber Ways To Die, filmed in Sydney, Australia after the (in)famous ‘or perhaps in Sydney’ live show. This was truly prime glass closet era and I think the DAPG videos they filmed during II are some of their best.

NLS:

-Shadowheart notices how nervous Tav gets when they return to patriar events (either to be honored for something or bc Wyll invited them)- and she spends the evening distracting and comforting Tav in whatever ways she can. Holding her hand, sneaking her away to steal a kiss or two, dancing with her, pulling her into the corner to gossip in her ear…she can read when Tav is uneasy and just steps in as her lover and best friend 🥰

-Shadowheart becoming good with kids is so important to me. Not that she wouldn’t be- I think her Sharran past might’ve made her hesitant to show her true colors, at first. She’s inherently sweet and playful, it just takes a while to unlearn the guards she put up as a Sharran. But I HC that there’s a group of kids who play somewhat near the cottage in the spring and summer months. And they are absolutely SMITTEN with her 😭💕 bringing her flowers and toys, trinkets to win her attention. I mean, the pretty half elf lady with LOTS of cool animals??? Emmeline probably bakes just for them, and that wins Shadowheart even more popularity points. I just think she deserves to be adored by all 🥰 and this gets her thinking about having a child of her own with Serena!

-I think Shadowheart might enjoy art! I feel like she didn’t exactly have time for hobbies and self discovery was…not exactly encouraged in the cloister. But Serena notices she’s very meticulous, her dexterity is good…so she gifts her a set of paints and a canvas. And Shadowheart is probably awful, for a time. But imagine the fun they’d have? Paint wars (painting each other 👀), sharing their laughable attempts at painting the landscape outside the cottage. Setting up the canvas outside on a sunny day, wine in hand, Serena lounging a few feet away with Buttons and Scratch under the sunshine? It would be so calming for her. And I think she’d get pretty good, tbh.

Consonance:

-Tav is Shadowheart’s biggest fan 🥰 while I do mean that in the cutesy couple way, I also mean that she was genuinely a fan before meeting her. And now she gets to live with her. So, in everyday pedestrian moments, like when Jen sings to herself in the shower…Tav is trying SO hard to rein in those giddy schoolgirl emotions lmao. Shads just…toweling herself off and laughing softly when she sees that Tav is a PUDDLE in the doorway 🫠💕 the novelty never dies, for Tav. Shadowheart is amused and a little flattered. She loves singing for her girl ☺️

-Not to spoil this but Serena is gonna surprise Jen with an animal at some point in my outline for pt. 2. I’m thinking a kitten 🥹 it will be the love of Shadowheart’s life (alongside Buttons….and Serena😅). She’s going to be so excited and giddy like a little kid. It will be very cute.

-Emmeline knitting some ugly sweaters for Shadowheart and Tav over the holidays!! Tav loves hers and wears it unironically. Shadowheart is always touched by how much Tav loves Emmeline. She hates the sweaters but obliges. She thinks they ruin her cool girl unaffected rocker vibe, and she’s right. She looks adorable 😅

-Jen and Isobel’s friendship is my fave, as we know. Latest development in my daydreaming: Isobel helping Shads pick an engagement ring and helping her plan a surprise proposal 🥹 Isobel telling Shads how proud she is that she got herself out of Shar’s grasp… they planned to be in each other’s weddings as little girls.

-Shadowheart fiercely loathing Tav’s father and being incredibly protective of her. It’s a side of her we haven’t seen yet and I’m so excited. She learned, from her dealings with Shar. And she will protect Tav with her life, just like Tav would for her. I think it adds a really nice depth to her and I’m excited for you to see ferally protective shadowheart!!!

I’m a bit new to Warframe and what time I have spent in the game I haven’t spent a single real dollar or traded with any other players. I was given 475 platinum by the devs in some kind of package or something months ago and I never touched it because I didn’t know what platinum should be used for and I honestly really just prefer grinding for things than buying them.

But I really want Octavia Prime, cuz she’s my favorite Warframe. So I went to the Bazaar to trade for her, and this guy was offering all of her prime parts!! He said he was looking for platinum so I offered 475 because I assumed a Prime Warframe would be expensive right? But this guy goes “what”

And I thought it must have been too low or something, so I said I could throw in some prime parts too if the plat wasn’t enough.

Then the dude goes “no that’s too much bro”

I told him I was super unfamiliar with the currency system in the game and had no idea what the real value of Platinum was.

Turns out he was only expecting like ~150?!?!

He linked me to Warframe.market and recommended I browse there to get an idea of the value of things, and he was just generally super helpful.

This is hands down one of the greatest interactions I’ve ever had in an online game. This guy could’ve easily just been a dick accepted the 475 and and ran, but he corrected me and made sure I was only giving him was the item was worth.

I ended up giving him 175 instead of 150 just because he was so fucking nice, sorta like a tip I guess lmao

You know, earlier I was watching a two part video series, where someone took a popular dark romance book, and just shit on it for like 2 hours altogether.

It was super entertaining, but at one point, it made me realize that otome games are just as, if not more so in some cases, fucking absurd, and whack as your average ~controversial~ booktok sensation, and literally NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THEM!! At least, not that I’ve seen.

Do you how much I would love for someone to sit in front of a mic and camera, and rip the plot/love interests/everything of Amnesia Memories to shreds?? (Disclaimer: If you like Amnesia Memories that’s fine, but my god is it a MASSIVE mess LMAO. I love it for that, though.)

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe the reason people haven’t done that, is because most mainstream otome games are like fifty+ US dollars, and doing an all-endings playthrough would take like, a fucking month if you really tried. It took me two+ weeks just to blaze through the good endings of Collar x Malice, and I literally turned the voice acting off so I could get past the dialogue faster. I haven’t even TOUCHED the other endings, yet.

Still would love to see someone do it, though.

Redoing a couple aspects of the OUAT au bc if I make them to the college route here it’s gonna be too similar to the criminal minds au so I am making some tweaks. Also a refresher is nice:

The girls are married before the curse bc it’s what they deserve

Also newly weds. I’m talking they were married for like a month before Rumplestiltskin ruined lives

They’re like 25 so definitely older

Everyone else is significantly older as well since it’s 7 years after the Druun disappeared

Raya works with Belle’s father in the flower shop because she gives off the vibe that she has a green thumb to me. Also helps that Belle’s father hated Rumplestiltskin so that’s just even more reason to to lump them together

Belle’s father already owns the shop so Mr. Gold can’t intrude there

It totally pisses Mr. Gold off that Raya managed to find one of the only places, if not the only place he doesn’t own in StoryBrooke and works there. He’ll still bug Raya about rent and all that when she delivers flowers or helps set up decorations for events but he can’t actually go in the shop

I haven’t completely decided what Namaari does yet but I stand by the fact that she’s rich girl that’s low key out of touch LOL

Whatever her job is, it’s gonna be one where fancy social functions are hosted on the regular, and guess what a social function needs for decoration?

Namaari just likes supporting local businesses! (And antagonizing the pretty florist)

Whenever Namaari actually walks into the shop Raya hides and makes someone else help

Usually Namaari will buy so many flowers to be sent so Raya has no choice but to help deliver them

Constant cat and mouse game between them

Raya was super good at keeping her interactions with Namaari to a minimum until the the clock started ticking again

Henry keeps trying to set them up LMAO

Raya still baby sits Noi since she’s only like 9 here

Boun works at the flower shop part time he’s 17 he’s gotta hustle

Tong is an event coordinator that works with Namaari a lot so he also works with Raya pretty frequently. In fact, he’s usually the person Raya talks to so that she can avoid Namaari

Poor Benja is still in a coma 😔

Other than that, pretty sure everything stays the same as when I originally thought of it

I’ve been going through fake modern names to give them and so far Raya is Roxanne that goes by Roxy, Namaari is Nadia (did not come up with that myself), Sisu is Suki, and I’ve got nothing else tbh

I realize some of these names aren’t the best and don’t exactly align with SEA origins but I’m awful at coming up with names. Plus I feel like it’s helpful to give them names that are similar to the real ones

Raya and Roxy are two syllables and start with R, Namaari and Nadia have three syllables and start with N, I’m doing my level best 😭

If anyone has alternate name suggestion feel free to let me know gang

21. Share your favorite piece of dialogue

This was hard because I'm always afraid my dialogue falls flat, but here's piece of wolf that I really like:

“There are no wild wolves in England,” Lily said with a frown. 

Sirius glanced at her. “What?”

She nodded. “The last wolf in the UK was shot in 1680, and they haven’t been reintroduced.” Sirius caught her eye and tried to convey that she needed to stop talking. She must have finally realized what was going on because her eyes went wide, and she muttered, “...but maybe it was coyotes.”

Poppy just nodded. “Well, I’ve got to get back to my rounds, as should you two.” She turned to leave, but not before saying, “Oh, and Sirius is assigned to coyote boy, and Ms. Evans, you get coyote girl.”

He breathed a sigh of relief, and they each gave her a thumbs up. 

As soon as she was gone, Lily smacked him on the shoulder, wonder in her eyes, and said, “I touched a werewolf!”

“Shh!” Sirius put a hand against her mouth. “You also treated him for internal bleeding, but that doesn’t mean you can tell people about it!” Her bright eyes somehow got even wider and she nodded, so, cautiously, he took his hand off her mouth.

At first, she was silent, lips pursed, then, in a harsh whisper, said, “My hands were in a werewolf!”

If it were anyone else, he would’ve been concerned that she wasn’t more worried about coming into contact with a bloody beast, but since it was her, all he did was gape. “Please, make it sound more sexual. I dare you.”

“Is that what you said six months ago?”

Sirius gasped. “Lily!”

Her eyes twinkled, and she danced away. “Go do your rounds. I’m sure wolf boy will be thrilled to see you.”

I love this part because Sirius is just standing there all kinds of panicking, and Lily is telling them about wild canine populations. I haven't gotten a lot of chances to write their friendship, so it's always fun.

"What the hell did you two do?" Nico asked wearily. Will looked like he was trying not to laugh.

"We brought you food," Percy said helpfully.

Nico gestured helplessly. "Why, exactly?"

Jason started pulling the food off the jacket and handing it to Nico and Will. "In case your bus breaks down again."

"Oh my god." Nico almost fumbled a granola bar. "What the hell are we supposed to do with all this?"

Jason stood and looked at Nico like he was the one being weird. "Tape it to your jackets."

This scene still cracks me up, partially because it's so stupid but it's also so true to marching band. The one year I did marching alto sax, I'd have music in my hat, hot hands in any pockets I could find, sometimes extra reeds. One of my friends would bring a small blanket to wrap around their stomach inside their pants lmao. One time, somebody else marched a halftime show with a chicken sandwich in their hat and ate it during fourth quarter. The other three years, I did color guard and would have hot hands in my bra and would get my friends to hold my wallet in their hats or pants pocket. We all had candy somewhere. One girl was a cheerleader and had her friends each hold a different part of her flute in their pants pocket or hat and hold it for her until half time.

I also just love how their characters came out here, especially Percy and Jason's relationship with Nico.

the appeal of limited characters is generally they are 1) pretty much meta-breaking and have insane gameplay value, especially in endgame content and 2) they have very, very long and detailed events that let you get to know the character in the hopes of getting attached enough to pull. and honestly? it kind of works. deren, the first limited, is super super popular, and shalom, well. maybe a year ago, there was a most popular female character poll on weibo, and shalom was in the lead by a million votes. yao, the most recent limited, had quite a touching event as well. in any case, i have utmost faith in the dev team’s and writers team’s ability to storytell because i swear they haven’t dropped the ball since the game started (looking at you, hyv) so yeah, tldr, aisno’s strategy with their limiteds work because they’re good enough to make it work LMAO

im so bitter likejtjgkdkektmy theyre popular for people who’ve played the game obviously but if i spend 6 months on it and some of them never reran what would i know about them to have them be my favourites..? they’re mentioned in the story but apparently all the depths come with the events so now what

what am i supposed to do like when characters rerun do the same events happen over and over? because if that’s the case then fine i suppose… if they don’t, cause i can see how that could be repetitive for seasoned players, does all that depth and character development just disappear?… it is kinda lame that they’re for a limited time only cause you start the game with little knowledge of these characters and can never truly keep up unless they’re rerunning. you cant show me a kafka expy and be like “oh yeah you’ll only get to know whenever her banner reruns idk when that is tho” um… should i die then? LIKE WHAT, make these story quests and end it here omg. i dont doubt the writing at all but it is a little crazy to have important stuff be only available for like 3 weeks

i’m trying to finish one last book before my year-end book post goes up so i’m gonna talk about games and tv first. not too many of either to talk about this year tbh but i apparently still have so many words.

no movies post bc i don’t log my films anywhere and i simply cannot remember what i watched. maybe i should make 2024 the year of using letterboxed. not enough to talk about with new music either. 2024 can also be the year of getting back into music.

games: i actually haven’t played much ffxiv this year. well in the first half i sorta did but i have barely touched it since like. august. except to keep my houses from getting demolished. i did finally finish myths of the realm last week, since they wrote that entire storyline for me specifically. i need the minion so bad yoship help.

in march capcom gave me a birthday prezzie with the release of the resident evil 4 remake which i’d had preordered since last year (the only games i’ll preorder and pay full price for are resis and ffxiv expansions). i don’t need to explain this to you. it’s incredibly good, the best of the extremely good remakes so far i think. i haven’t played the dlc yet but i’m excited to think there is more of this game i still have to play. btw ashley defense squad. i’ll brook no ashley slander in my house.

i can’t remember exactly when but i think it was some time in the summer that i finally, finally finished breath of the wild! i’m so behind the curve on this one, but i did at least get to start tears of the kingdom in the same year as everyone else. umm, i have to admit i remain ambivalent to this approach to zelda. i have to challenge myself to figure out how much of that is because iT’s DiFfErEnT but genuinely i think the things i dislike about it, i would still dislike even if i had nothing to compare it against. i really wish i thought it was the best zelda ever like so many do but i guess i just struggle to find a flow state with either of them which is why it’s taking me so fucking long to finish them lmao. still obviously extremely good and beautiful! like still head and shoulders above most games, easily, a good time overall!! (wish nintendo wasn’t the way that it is.)

i should mention that one day in july i fucked around in catlateral damage while streaming for bella. this is a very basic game, literally you are just a cat’s paw knocking things over, but man when you just need a brain-free giggle? it did its job.

also in july i played the sequel to oxenfree, which is a game that i love. this game didn’t click with me quite as much, i haven’t revisited it since i finished it, but there are probably also other reasons i shan’t get into that aren’t the game’s fault. idk i feel a bit unqualified to give a final verdict without playing it to completion but i guess the fact that i’ve had it for months and not bothered to do that yet is a kind of verdict in itself since with oxenfree i went straight back in till i got that final ending and platinum trophy.

for basically all of autumn i of course played baldur’s gate 3. i’m very sad that my extreme anhedonia has hit before i could play the new epilogue. i tried to load up one of my finished games but i ran into a problem because the only way to back up your saves is in the cloud so you can’t shuffle files around or make copies, only overwrite, and don’t get me STARTED again or i’ll start spitting i’m so SICK of PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT AAAAAHH. anyway it’s a pretty good game. i won’t be surprised or mad if neil wins the bafta but it really really should be samantha please if there’s justice in this world.

tv: season 3 of only murders in the building. umm, idk. it’s not a revolutionary show but it’s comforting, it doesn’t feel stale yet, and there’s just a lot of talent at work here. just fun to watch.

i watched almost all of neon genesis evangelion but couldn’t finish it because i decided to have an (unrelated) emotional breakdown instead. i’ll finish it eventually if for no other reason than i owe it to phil. shinji is baby.

finally got to the first season of our flag means death. just a delight. i love fun pirate adventures and i love the queers. unfortunately watched it right before the second season released and haven’t gotten to that yet.

did watch the second season of good omens though. i think they made the right choice to scale it back because honestly once you’ve averted the apocalypse trying to outdo yourself becomes a fool’s errand. also, jon hamm’s butt what who said that.

that’s it i think. as i said no season 2 of ofmd, not even the new flanagan yet which i had really been looking forward to for a long time. i dunno ya girl is struggling to find any pleasure in life atm.
