Maybe this doesn’t need to be said, but Im feeling awful about it, so -- to any mutuals that might notice Im not following them anymore, I'm sorry about that. I've just seen too many posts on my dash that I have no way of blocking because they're not tagged in any way and they're distressing enough it's turning one of the only places I considered a safe space not safe for me anymore. So for my own mental health, I had to unfollow. I Will refollow in the future and I still love y'all, but I just-- I can’t. Ive been noticing some very worrying stuff about my mental and emotional state and it's just too much currently. I hope it's at least an understandable decision, and I wish y'all are having a good day out there 💗
#personal#I know its important to keep up with current events#but life overall's been a bit too much for me lately#I should prob go back to my therapist#I haven’t seen her since I went back to uni#for one because I didn’t know my schedule when we last meet and we both thought this should balance me#finally having purpose again and doing what I actually enjoy#but I also don’t have a job now so its costs and... I don’t know#but I probably should now that Im thinking maybe its time to actually get medicated for real#tho first maybe I should just visit my family doc and ask for those vit d supplements my therapists talked about#see if thats gonna be enough#autumn (and winter) has always been an awful time for me in terms of mental and emotional health#but it feels even worse these days#like Im battling against depression every day recently and rarely anything works to distract me#which is why its been hard to get back to peels in dms and such too#I was meant to meet with a friend now that Im studying in a city she lives in but I have yet to get back to her#and it feels like I have not only Zero but like Negative energy and motivation#+ Ive been dealing with an upset stomach for Weeks now#no matter what I eat it feels weird and achy and barely anything tastes good for me already so now its even worse#anyway this turned into such a rant Im sorry#I just didn’t want the lovely peeps Ive been mutuals with for a long time to think I stopped liking them or smth#its just certain untagged posts that I would otherwise block if I could#and I dont wanna impose onto anyone like a 'rule' to tag them or whatever#so yeah this is just temporary#hopefully at some point I get better enough to survive the couple distressing posts heh...

SECRETS part 2 - LN
lando x fewtrell!reader
no content warnings in this part, i promise the next part will have some actual fluff to it
previous part -> next part
masterlist the playlist
y/n was easily won over by chicken nuggets and a diet coke - a fact lando knew too well. both he and max had both spent almost hundreds on the food combo every time y/n was roped into one of their plans. whether she was lying to her parents to cover up where max had been all night, or even just being asked to hold a camera or a boom mic for a quadrant video, she was always rewarded with 6 chicken nuggets and a diet coke.
lando had in fact not included max in his late night plans, and very quickly made it known as to why.
“so, how’s uni?” he asked, warming her up for the incoming conversation, turning onto a side road and pulling the car to a stop.
“yea it’s good thanks, how’s driving?”
“could be better, i could be better,” he smiled sadly, but glad she asked about driving as she fell directly into his trap, “why did you stop coming to races?”
“lando,” she sighs his name, almost disappointed in him for even asking, “university’s a lot of work you know. i can’t fly around the world to watch you drive a car. and, i still watch the races - just from home.”
“so it’s nothing to do with me?”
“well ignoring me for a year doesn’t help your case, but no, it’s not to do with you. you know i’ll always be there when i can. when im invited,” the emphasis on invited hung like hot air in the car, and created and unsettling silence.
“lan, can i ask you a question?” she said, breaking the awkward atmosphere in the car.
“mhm, anything.”
“why did you stop talking to me? i know we’re not as close as you and max,” she adds, lando almost wincing at the mention of his best friend, “and i know you were busy being, you know, a superstar and that. but even over your break, i saw you like twice in passing.”
“im sorry y/n, honestly it wasn’t intentiona-”
“bullshit, try again norris. the truth this time.”
lando breathed in deep, as if to lock and load his next statement.
“max he, uh, he told me he’d seen some pictures of us. you remember that club in monaco?,” she nodded in response, remembering the encounter with lando that night in somewhat drunken detail, “he wasn’t happy with me. thought we had something going on behind his back. y/n when i say angry, i mean he was one step away from beating me up and then keying my car.”
“but there was nothi- i mean we weren’t d-”
“i know, i tried to tell him,” lando sighed, “he gets a bit, let’s say ‘over protective’ with you i guess. doesn’t trust me maybe? i don’t know.”
“so instead of letting me discuss it with him, you refused to acknowledge my existence for a year? yeah that’s mint, let’s do that,” she said, the sarcasm rolling off her tongue.
“i was a dick, ok - i’m sorry. but your brother is slightly terrifying when he’s angry. think he’s realised he was wrong - that’s why he let you come to the race im guessing.”
he was wrong - but was he? was max completely wrong to assume what he had? she thought the feelings were mutual but clearly lando had other ideas.
“can i drive your car?” y/n asked, smiling over to lando in the drivers seat. he’s started driving around aimlessly again, deciding to put an end to the conversation about where they stood with each other. his head whipped around to look at her, his eyebrows quirked up in a mix of confusion and immediate refusal. he wasn’t even driving one of his more expensive cars, as they all stayed in monaco. but of course, lando norris needs a high end car in every country.
“please, lan,” she said again, eyes widening in attempt to tug on his heart strings, “please. i miss driving, i haven’t driven since like, christmas since my car died and went to car heaven.”
“y/n, angel,” the nickname wasn’t something new, but it still flipped something about in her stomach, ”if anything, that makes me want to say no even more. besides, it’s automatic - you drive manual.”
“oh come on, it’s literally just a pedal for stop and go. please.”
“not tonight,” he said, looking at her to show his sad frown as if that would make her happy about the rejection, “if i get podium tomorrow, ill put some money towards getting you a new car.”
“lan, please you don’t have to do that.”
“i know i don’t have to. i want to. besides, if i get podium i think i owe my lucky charm something to show my gratitude, no?” he said. y/n knew this was an argument she wouldn’t win, so she smiled up at him, nodding slightly.
the car fell back into a silence, comfortable this time, with only the sound of lando’s music playing quietly out of the speakers, and the odd whooshing of a car driving past.
the car came to a still, the red light reflected on the their faces as they waited for the light to change.
“the stars look pretty tonight,” she said absentmindedly. y/n was never one to sit in silence without at least attempting to fill it.
“yeah, they do,” lando responded, although he wasn’t looking at the stars, moreover, he was staring directly at the light reflecting onto y/n’s face. his own mouth curling up into a smile when he saw your soft features grinning contently at the sky.
it was around 1am when y/n and lando returned to the hotel car park, casually discussing life at university and where y/n saw herself using her degree in the future.
“i think it’s better if we don’t tell max about this,” she mumbled, tilting her head to the side, catching lando’s eyes. her own eyes blinking slowly in exhaustion.
“i think so too. are you going to tell him what i said?”
“not right now. but i refuse to let him believe has any right to threaten his own friends in a bid to control my life,” she says, her body now twisted fully to face him directly.
“just,” he sighed, “dont get violent,” his hand reaching over to rest on her knee.
“me? violent? that is a bold accusation, norris.”
“y/n - i know you. just don’t be too harsh, he thought he was doing what was best.”
“thinking is always max’s downfall,” she responds with a snort. she turns her body back, arm reaching to grab the handle when lando catches her other arm, forcing her to look at him again.
“i’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
“i’ll be there.”
sneaking back into a room was usually y/n’s specialty, but she’d never attempted to sneak past max before. rather, her teens were spent sneaking back into the house with max. unlocking the door and pulling the handle down, y/n pushed softly on the wood, but the creaking was so loud in the silence of their hotel room. the floor boards to her bag of clothes seemed to have a vendetta against her today too, she could’ve sworn they did not creak when she had walked across them earlier.
the bathroom tap decided to splutter loudly and spit freezing cold water down her, and the door to slide back open and allow the stream of light to fall directly on max’s face.
“y/n?” her brother groaned, “you just come back in?”
“yeah, sorry - i tried to be quiet,” she whispered back, turning the bathroom light off and stumbling gracefully through the dark room to the sofa.
“it’s 1am? you were in the gym for 3 hours?”
“erm, yeah,” her voice wavered in the lie, “i got distracted on the treadmill. tired myself out though.”
max grumbled something in response, too sleepy to say anything further.
the next morning max walked down to the hotel lobby, passing the gym in his journey for breakfast.
open 7:00 - 23:00
hang on, he thought to himself, shut at 11?
where had his sister been? she couldn’t have been in the gym till 1am, so where had she been, and why had she lied?

“That is not going to fit!”
He scoffs, already annoyed. “Yes, it is! Just move over a little.”
“A little? I’m already stretched the fuck out! What more do you want from me?”
“Seohyun, I swear to fucking God – “
She yelps, most likely cramping. “Just pull it out, you dumbass – “
“What the hell is going on in here?”
You and Chan stop dead in your tracks, confused at the scene currently playing out in front of your very eyes. You were gone downstairs for less than ten minutes to get the rest of your stuff, with you and Chan carrying a box each that held the essentials to ensure this move went smoothly. And in that time frame, your two other best friends have already managed to be at each other’s throats.
The front door of your apartment was wide open, with dumb and dumber currently looking like two deers caught in headlights on opposite sides, separated by an old armchair whose springs had become a death trap over the years. Last year, when you held parties here, someone was always left standing — it was either the cursed chair or the floor, with most guests picking the latter once they were drunk enough.
“Uh, hi?” Jisung greets, forcing a smile onto boyish features that haven’t changed much since you met almost seven years ago, in high school.
Bewiled, you set the box down by Chan’s feet and approach. “Are you guys, okay? What happened?”
Whistling, Jisung tries to pretend he has everything under control. He doesn’t, he never does, that’s just the type of guy he was. “Duh, we’re fantastic! Everything is under control, don’t even – “
Called it.
“For the love of god, just shut up and let them help us already!” Seohyun barks from the other side, prompting you to peek in to see her straighten her posture, rubbing her wrists in obvious discomfort. With a sigh and a glare from Jisung who steps back to allow Chan to take his place, she explains. “We were trying to get this chair out to make room for the new one.”
Chuckling, Chan inspects the door frame while you pass Seohyun one of the boxes right over the ugly, red chair that’s seen better days. “And it got stuck?”
“Yes, because Jisung didn’t want to listen – “
“Or maybe because you started pushing when I wasn’t ready, like an idiot.” He counters instantly, never one to back out from a fight instigated by Seohyun. Not to be fooled, these two were as close as can be, the bickering reflective of their special bond.
You and Chan share a look as they start again, amusement clear in gentle, doe eyes that have comforted you numerous times over the years. Meeting back in the summer before high school, you and Chan have been attached at the hip ever since, clicking as pre-teens and growing up together, maturing down the same path that’s led you to the same university, and even the same major you also shared with Jisung. Music production has always been a passion of yours, so getting to fulfil that dream with your absolute best friend by your side was a blessing you couldn’t be more thankful for.
“Alright.” Chan stops their bickering, one hand landing on Jisung’s shoulder to get his attention. “Stand on it.”
“Pardon?” Jisung blinks at him, as confused as you and Seohyun were, not sure he heard Chan right.
Smiling, Chan squeezes his shoulder. “So, you can step on the backrest and make it fall over. It will be easier to move afterwards.”
“You think so?” He asks, biting down on his bottom lip, not confident in the slightest.
Your best friend nods, giving his bottom an encouraging pat. “Positively. Now go on, I don’t want to spend my whole day in this hallway.”
Seohyun scrambles back, unwilling to get caught in between Jisung and the chair, giving him enough room to do what he must to free her exit.
Watching the whole scene unfold has you smiling from ear to ear, struggling to keep your laughter at bay once Jisung realizes the task isn’t as dangerous as he expected. It’s anticlimactic, more than anything, as he gets on top of the chair to step on the backrest, going down slowly without even losing his balance.
He blinks, barely realizing it’s over before making eye contact with Seohyun who bursts out laughing like she’s been holding it in since the beginning. The three of you join in quickly after, your delight bouncing off the hallway walls and lifting the spirits tremendously.
After all, nobody in existence was ever excited for summer to end and classes to start again, with a new, even more demanding schedule than last year. You were in your third year now and things were bound to get difficult the closer you got to graduating.
This silly moment was exactly what you needed to start the new year right, sure it would become a core memory later down the line when you’d all be working adults, with even more responsibilities and nonexistent free time. The sight of Chan dragging the armchair out, without any difficulty whatsoever as Jisung and Seohyun’s jaws hit the floor, incredulous he didn’t struggle like they did, was sure to bring a smile to your face for years to come.
When your only access to the apartment was finally free, the four of you gathered inside with the remaining boxes.
“You weren’t kidding, you do have all of your stuff here.” Seohyun hums, scanning her surroundings, and her new home. The apartment was yours. You moved in just last year and you’ve lived by yourself until now, when you welcomed her with open arms and a little too much excitement.
“Yeah.” You nod, already moving around to put the scattered things back in their rightful places. “Sorry about the mess. I didn’t bother cleaning up before leaving.”
The living room was fine – your bedroom was the one that suffered the most, already dreading the thought of having to dig through all the mess to find most of your things.
The apartment was a gift from your parents, after successfully finishing your first year of university living in a dorm. Sure, having your own space was great, but you’d never trade that first year for anything in the world. That’s where you meet Seohyun after all, growing closer and closer with every sleepless night you spent together giggling and talking about everything under the sun, not feeling the hours tick by until one of your alarms would ring, signalling the start of a new day.
It was big, too spacious for only one person to live in, with two bedrooms and a bathroom straight out of an interior design magazine. Even though Seohyun didn’t move in until now, you were never truly alone with Jisung and Chris living right next door. Someone was always keeping you company, which you were thankful for, in more ways than one.
Already moving about like they owned the place, Chris and Jisung were helping you tidy up, with the latter moving to check for anything rotten in the kitchen. With four pairs of hands on deck, it didn’t take more than fifteen minutes for everything to be back to normal, leaving you to take care of the dusting.
“Alright.” Chan stands, carrying two trash bags. “Ji, let’s go get the armchair.”
Jisung follows before Seohyun calls after them. “Right, is it in your car?”
“I thought it was in yours?” He turns around, stopping in the doorway while Chan is already busy calling the elevator, further away.
You see her brows furrow, setting the duster down before grabbing her car keys. “Nope.”
The ding of the elevator gets your attention, and they share a look before hurrying after Chan, in search of said armchair, the door closing behind them with a quiet thud. You lived high up, on the 10th floor – nobody was ever willing to take the stairs and waste that much time.
And so, in the blink of an eye, you are left alone in the apartment that held so many of your memories, beautiful moments you wouldn’t trade even in exchange for forgetting the sad ones.
You feel a little lost, staring around like you couldn’t recognize your own home, shoulders slumping with a deep sigh. Your gaze moves towards your closed bedroom door, feet following before your hand twists the doorknob and you’re engulfed in sunlight, blinking rapidly to adjust to the change in lighting.
Inside, the sight that greets you seems frozen in time, transporting you back in June to the last moments spent in this room, where you were running around to pack in a hurry. You don’t dare move, just taking it all in as memories flood your mind and make your heart ache in your chest, what still remains of it, anyway.
All of your stuff thrown around haphazardly painted a picture you didn’t enjoy, yet couldn’t look away from either. Your bed remained unmade, with piles of clothing, bags and random objects occupying all the space. Framed photographs were thrown everywhere around the room, just so they would stop glaring at you from their place on your nightstand, face down and most likely damaged by the broken glass. The vase on your dresser, which used to stand tall with beautiful, healthy flowers seemed to have lost its color, struggling to fulfil its purpose because of the dried, mouldy peonies you didn’t bother throwing out before leaving.
But what’s even worse than the mess is what tipped you over the edge back then, falling to your knees on the fluffy, white carpet as you sobbed uncontrollably – the things he left behind were still here, in the exact same spots, in pristine condition. Your room looked like it barely survived the hurricane that shared your name, yet his red cap was still resting quietly next to the flowers he got you. One of his sketchbooks, still opened on that drawing he never got to finish as he got too busy with school, was on the other nightstand, on his side of the bed. A pair of his dancing shoes were by the door, right next to your comfy slippers. They have been there for so long, that you couldn’t enter your room without tripping over them and be reminded of his presence every single time. Hell, you bet if you checked right now, his toothbrush will still be next to yours in the cute holder you bought together, his razor not far away.
There were traces of him everywhere you looked in this apartment, clothes and necessities he left behind on his many visits. Like his football jersey, lucky number 20, you’ve worn more times than him, hung in your open closet among empty hangers that barely held on.
It wasn’t fair, how you seemed to crumble along with everything around you while he, and his stupid things, remained intact. The world shattered beneath your feet, freefalling to your doom of self-doubts and regrets while he continued with his life like nothing even happened. Like you never happened; like you weren’t such a fundamental part in his life in the exact same way he was in yours.
Your ex boyfriend moved on in the blink of an eye, while you were still here, crying at the sight of a stupid toothbrush.
This will never be fair. Why did you always seem to draw the short end of the stick?
New beginnings were usually your favorite. Starting another book, turning a new leaf and switching up your wardrobe for a change, getting the inspiration for another song – these were all activities that brought you joy. Now, returning to campus at the end of summer vacation to begin another school year? For the first time since starting university two years ago, felt like an impossible task, one you weren’t ready for in the slightest. Because how could you ever be ready to start your junior year without him?
How could you possibly embark on a new journey without him holding your hand and guiding you through it all, navigating around every hardship with ease like he was the most experienced sailor in existence?
You had no answers, only questions. Too many that were also too loud, bouncing off of the sturdy walls of your mind that were threatening to crumble with every thud, remaining standing only thanks to the unbearable headaches that reminded you to take a break from all the overthinking.
Your mind went quiet as another voice made its presence known, bringing you back to the world outside your bedroom while shooing the dark cloud above your head out the window with ease.
“Oh my god, we lost the goddamn chair!”
A wet laugh escaped your lips, more tears rolling down your cheeks as you desperately tried to wipe them all before joining your friends in the living room. You weren’t stupid – they were worried. That’s why Seohyun was moving in, in the first place. To keep an eye on you at all times, when the other two couldn’t be there and provide the much needed support you craved so badly.
Not like they knew you were aware of their little plan, having them figured out from the moment they showed up at Chan’s doorstep in Australia, last month. They’ve been tiptoeing around you since then, not knowing what emotional state you were in or what’s changed or hasn’t in the two months you spent apart. Sure, Chris might have filled them in, but they were still afraid. Afraid they were going to mess up somehow and have you slipping through their fingers and shatter at any moment, like you were nothing more than a fragile package, all progress lost the second something that reminded you of him jumped into your path.
And, you hate to admit but they were right.
They failed to take into consideration that even though your ex never actually moved in, the apartment was his as much as it was yours, quickly becoming your shared home as you fell into a routine that involved the other at every step.
Your three close friends were the only people present, but all you could see was him, a ghost roaming around and haunting every corner of the house you now despised, his giggles caressing your ears gently every time you moved from one room to the other.
Just being here felt like torture. How were you supposed to spend another two years sleeping in the same bed you shared with the person you thought was going to be your forever?
“Sweetheart.” Chan’s gentle voice coaxes you out of the room as you manage to pull yourself together, no sign of crying or distress still present on your features. If anything, they looked worse than you, crestfallen and a little embarrassed.
“We have something to tell you.” Seohyun steps closer, gently taking your hands into hers and intertwining your fingers loosely.
Jisung nods and is by your side in a second, throwing an arm around your shoulders as he lowers his mouth to your ear. “Chris lost your new armchair.”
“What the fuck?!”
Your laughter joins theirs, a beat later, as Chris remains the only one standing there, arms crossed over his chest with his words falingl on deaf ears, nobody paying attention as he begins defending himself.
When you’re pulled into a warm embrace, with Jisung’s cologne enveloping all your senses, you can’t help but start wondering. Is this a good time to finally reveal you never actually ordered a new chair or…?
︶︶︶︶༉‧₊˚.
Saturday slipped away into a moment in time, and before you knew it, Sunday was upon you. Your last chance at relaxing before the craziness began, and you’d be thrust into a series of new projects, classes and assignments that were already giving you a headache.
Despite spending the previous night celebrating a new beginning with your best friends, having an intimate pizza party with karaoke and a little too much alcohol, you wake up bright and early to get to a previously made appointment. Usually, you wouldn’t go anywhere for the summer, for the first two months anyway. But since you flew out of the country as soon as your exams were over, you didn’t get to help the animal shelter you have been volunteering at since your first year. It left a hole in your heart, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t feel guilty for disappearing into thin air, with nothing more than a text sent to the owner to let her know you’ll be going away for a while.
Hopefully, they’re willing to forgive and forget and let you make up for it by spending the next two months as involved as possible.
“Good morning, sweetheart.” Comes Chan’s groggy voice, still husky from all the singing he did last night, stumbling out of your spare bedroom with barely open eyes.
You startle, losing your balance while putting on your other shoe and crashing into the wall by the front door. You were hoping to make a swift escape and return before any of them rose since nobody in their right mind would willingly wake up this early.
He appears from around the corner, tank top slightly raised as he’s trying to scratch at his back. “You good?”
“Yep, everything’s just peachy.” Regaining your footing, you manage to put your shoe on and turn your back to him to get a jacket, feeling too awkward to make eye contact right now, which Chan would have laughed about if he wasn’t so sleepy.
“Where are you going?” He yawns, turning to squint at the clock on the far wall, above the couch. “It’s literally 7 am, too early to even be alive right now.”
For some reason, you hesitate to tell him, too out of it for your, and most definitely his liking. Being here was certainly not doing you any good, the walls closing in every time you tried to breathe and lift all the broken pieces of your stupid heart off of your lungs. It felt suffocating, especially when you were left alone with your thoughts as you zoned out one too many times.
Still, you mumble under your breath, reaching for your keys as silently as possible.
“Huh?”
With a sigh, you finally face him, eyes downcast. “Furry Friends Rescue.”
The smile that stretches across his features as he processes your words is so wide and contagious, it brightens up the whole room like he was somehow related to the sun itself, light radiating off of him in waves. It wakes him up instantly, and before you know it, he slips into a pair of slides left by the door and flies to his apartment.
You look after him, confused, and step into the hallway at the same time he does.
“Alright, let’s go!” He beams, locking his door before reaching for your arm softly. “I’ll drive you!”
“Wait, are you sure? I can – “
“Yes, I’m sure!” He frowns, shaking his head and pulling you after him with his newfound energy. “You love it there, and I know you already miss Berry. The least I can do is offer you a ride, are you kidding?”
You can’t help but smile at the mention of his puppy, spirits lifted in an instant. She was such a special little lady and you really bonded in these three months you’ve spent at his parents’ house.
Your parents never allowed you to have a pet, with your mom being allergic, so you did what you could to fill the space that remained constantly empty in your heart.
The drive there is full of laughter and even more singing, with Chris bringing back one of the activities you loved doing since he first got his license back in high school. Carpool karaoke has always been a must in his car, and that’s why you rode with Seohyun on your way back from the airport yesterday. You were a fool because nothing was quite as therapeutic as being silly and singing Disney songs at the top of your lungs with the only person who’s watched you grow into the adult you are today.
The drive to your destination isn’t long, but you still manage to squeeze in five songs before you get off and Chris speeds off. Only after wishing you a good day and making you promise you’ll call once you’re done so he can come pick you up, too. He was too kind, willing to do too much for you sometimes, but you were just the same. You’re afraid you might try moving the moon if he asked, one day.
Your annoying, overprotective brother who wasn’t really your brother, who’d push you into the pool before jumping in to save you in the same breath. He was such a guy.
Approaching with a prep to your step, the shelter’s surroundings have changed drastically since your last visit. The trees in the back have dyed their leaves in warm shades of orange and yellow, scattering some on the ground in hopes of attracting more pet lovers. A beautiful background always pulled people in, just like all pretty things did, and this autumn is particularly beautiful, with sights straight out of famous paintings. Seoul was truly a special city, one that’s nurtured and taught you the meaning of the word love that’s being thrown around too casually for your taste, these days. The city you grew up in, where you found your love for writing and composing, and where you met the most amazing people on this planet.
No other city could compare to your birthplace, no matter how pretty or modern it was.
Just as you make to try the door, with your apology speech all ready to go, it suddenly opens and forces you to take a few steps back in surprise.
“I’m sorry, we aren’t open yet.” The apology comes from a tall man, whose delicate features would have fooled you into believing he wasn’t older than a high schooler. Yet his physique begs to differ, you could tell even from beneath all the layers. He’s wearing the shelter’s apron with the logo you’ve had Jisung design a few years back. A new employee, perhaps? You don’t recognize him, so that’s most likely the case.
Your gaze travels upwards until it meets his brown eyes that fidget at the sudden contact. “Sorry, I’m here to see Mrs. Jeon?”
The stranger shakes his head, bleached blond hair hiding an undercut following his every move. “Mrs. Jeon is out of the country.”
You wait for him to continue, provide more details but when he doesn’t and only raises a brow that almost asks ‘what are you still doing here?’ you sigh and turn to leave. “Right. Will you please tell her Y/n has stopped by?”
“Wait, Y/n L/n?”
You turn right on your heel, both of your eyebrows raised as if to challenge his. “Do I know you?”
He brings his hands up, showing he means no harm as a smile finds his rosy lips, one you don’t truly grasp the meaning of. “No! But I know you.”
Alright, now you’re properly creeped out. Noticing the look on your face, the man quickly corrects himself, letting out an awkward laugh as he rubs the back of his head. “I’m sorry, I’m not good with strangers. Mrs. Jeon does! I was recruited in your place when you didn’t come back in June.”
Oh, so he was your replacement. Great. You had no idea you’d entered a race to see how fast people and places you frequented could replace you during the summer. Very motivating and uplifting. You should have stayed home.
“Oh.” Despite all the thoughts overlapping each other in your head, you only manage to sigh, properly exhausted.
His eyes widen slightly, and without thinking, he grasps your elbow when you turn around to leave for good. “Please do come in! Mrs. Jeon has been waiting to hear from you. She left a note.”
“A note?” When he nods, you shake off his hand and accept the invitation, stepping inside filled with curiosity.
All of the furry friends were in the back, in a separate space away from the reception. The place was modern, decorated in warm, pastel colors that seemed to welcome you with a fuzzy hug, the surroundings pristine. Furry Friends Rescue was built from the ground up by Mrs Jeon’s late husband, who passed away a few years back, right after you started volunteering here. To honor his life, she kept this place running, making it her mission to find loving homes for all the animals that were brought in, investing most of her resources into modernizing the place and treating the animals like they deserved to be treated.
The shelter housed a veterinary office and a pet salon, run by other volunteers who were experts in their fields, students alike and even working people who would come by to offer a helping hand whenever they could. Mr Jeon was a vet – he used to treat all of the animals before he fell sick and became unable to work.
Making his way around the reception desk, which truly resembled the entrance of a corporation, even with all the pet pictures plastered on all the walls, and the dog pattern on the couch, the man picks up a note that was next to the bone-shaped phone.
“Here.”
Your fingers brush his as you take the small paper from him, but you don’t pay any attention to the slight color that appears on his cheeks.
Dear Y/n,
I hope your precious heart managed to heal during your trip
What fitting words for someone who had no idea why you left in the first place. Guess Mrs. Jeon knew you better than you thought, after all.
If you’re reading this, it means I have not yet returned from visiting my grandbabies. It also means Jaemin is the one looking after the place
Please work together until I’m back. He’s a nice kid and I believe you’ll get along well
That is if you’re still willing to return. Always put yourself first. If quitting is what you think is best, just know I’ll never hold it against you
With love, grandma J
P.S. there’s a surprise on the other side 😊
Curious, you flip over the page, eyes scanning the familiar handwriting to decipher what has she left you. A giggle escapes you soon after, shaking your head with fondness spilling from your eyes at her antics. You’re glad that after everything she’s been through, Mrs. Jeon has never changed.
“Is something funny?” The guy you’ve come to learn is named Jaemin asks from the other side of the desk, head tilted slightly in wonder making him resemble an actual puppy.
You dismiss him with a wave of your wrist, pocketing the note. Mrs. J’s brownie recipe you could never get enough of wouldn’t interest him anyway.
“So, you’re Jaemin?” You finally ask, giving him a once-over. He was tall, wearing a denim-on-denim outfit and smiled a little too brightly for your liking. Still, he did look like a nice guy, so you might as well give him a chance, even if meeting someone knew was the last thing you wanted to do.
As expected, he beams, thrusting a hand forward over the desk. “That’s me! Nice to meet you, Y/n. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
You give him a small but genuine smile and shake his hand. “I’m a third year at SNU so I usually volunteer here during summer vacation. I hope we get along.”
He nods, listening to your every word. “Yeah, Mrs. Jeon mentioned we go to the same university. I’m a second year majoring in dance! I’m also a part of the football team so I apologize in advance if I ever end up leaving you here all alone when the season starts.”
Oh, what were the odds?
Your smile drops despite your effort in not reacting, retracting your hand a little too quickly while nodding and trying to act as normal as possible. “Cool.”
Turning around, you begin walking in the opposite direction to escape from this awkward situation Mrs. J has unknowingly put you in.
“Shall we go see the animals?”
He’s on your tail soon after, grabbing another apron on the way for you with that ever present sunny smile of his. Jaemin reminded you of a hyperactive puppy, a golden retriever who would do anything to make you happy, pulling silly stunts and stumbling over his own feet.
Turns out, his bright personality isn’t the only reason Mrs. J has hired Jaemin. You spend the next four hours together, taking care of the animals and talking, to your surprise. They all seemed to love him already, causing a ruckus at the mere sight of him, excited to be let out and greet you both properly. The puppies especially as they’d run back and forth from you to him without stopping for a while, barely managing to bottle feed them in their excitement. Jaemin was nice, and easy to talk to, happy to get to know you but also talk your ear off when sensing you might need a laugh, managing to make everything funny. A great pick me up, you ended up agreeing with Mrs J’s statement – he was a good guy, the best that could have replaced you and helped her and all the staff in your absence.
For some reason, he felt comfortable opening up to you, and in turn, you told him some things about yourself too.
“What made you want to volunteer here?” He suddenly asks while cradling a noisy kitten, the sight comical.
You barely think before answering, gaze still trained on the bichon that has fallen asleep in your lap while you were brushing her. “I wasn’t allowed to have pets growing up, and I’ve always loved them. I was lucky my best friend had the most adorable puppy in the world right next door, but it wasn’t the same as owning one, you know?”
Jaemin nods, finally calming the kitten, eyes on you. “Oh, that sucks. I couldn’t imagine life without my two babies at home.”
You look up, curious. “You have dogs?”
“Two cats.” He throws a peace sign, chuckling when you smile. “I’m from Busan, so I only get to see them on holidays. I thought coming here and helping out four days a week might help me miss them less.”
“And? Does it help?” You point to the kitten that has fallen asleep in his arms, head crocked to the side weirdly. Looking down, he laughs and sets her in his lap, using his knuckles to gently pet between her ears, one of his hands as big as her whole body.
“It does, actually.” He smiles absentmindedly, most likely reminiscing about his fur babies. “But only momentarily. When I’m back in my dorm room, I still feel their absence.”
“I’m sorry.” Is all you say, a deep pang of sadness hitting you out of nowhere. You guess this is how Chris and Jisung feel as well, both away from their respective dogs they’ve more or less grown up with.
Jaemin shakes his head, still smiling and not as sad as you’d thought he’d be. “None of that. I facetime my mom every night just to see them.”
“That’s cute.” A smile finds its way on your face as you imagine him using the same baby voice he uses with the animals here on the phone with his mom, cooing at his cats.
“You’re cute.”
An uncharacteristic silence falls upon you as Jaemin searches for your gaze, dying to understand your reaction. It wasn’t uncomfortable, just weird, making you feel like you were doing something wrong. Which made no sense. Jisung and Chan called you cute all the time; not out of nowhere, but when the moment was right. Heck, Seohyun would write entire pages praising your beauty whenever you posted on Instagram – you knew you were cute. But this was different, this was someone that meant it romantically, you could tell. He was flirting with you, shooting his shot and seeing where it landed.
That wasn’t something you could reciprocate, especially not now.
When he notices the look in your eyes, the storm brewing behind them, he adds. “I was talking about Belle over there.”
You look down at Belle, the fluffy bichon in your lap, who is currently sleeping soundly on her back, tummy up and randomly kicking her feet once in a while, dreamland surely rowdy.
“Shut up.” You laugh a moment later, appreciating how fast he took the hint and backed off, leaning over to softly push him on the doggy mats, to which he pretends to fall just for your amusement.
With that out of the way, things return to normal quickly and before you know it, the other volunteers arrive and you’re biding Jaemin goodbye and going on your merry way, back to your apartment.
It’s afternoon now, hopefully your friends are awake by now.
︶︶︶︶༉‧₊˚.
They were in fact, not awake. Jisung just moved himself from the spare bedroom he shared with Chris for the night to the living room couch to sleep some more, without having to deal with the other’s snoring. Seohyun was buried in your blanket, hiding from the world, in the same position she was in when you left that morning.
Like it or not, it seems their bodies were incapable of pulling all-nighters after doing it for so many years without suffering the day after. Hopefully, you all manage to fix your sleep schedules before your classes start properly, not wanting to miss too many and be left behind, confused out of your minds and barely figuring it out by the time exam season rolls around.
︶︶︶︶༉‧₊˚.
“I’m sleepy.” Seohyun complains, reaching up to rub her eyes before remembering the pretty eyeliner currently gracing her eyelids and stopping at the last second, groaning.
You giggle, full of energy from the coffee Chris made sure got into your system before your first class, swirling the ice in your cup absentmindedly, mind somewhere else.
Busy on his phone, he doesn’t even look up as he responds. “You barely made it to class this morning and you’re still complaining?”
Monday, 10:15 am. Your first class of the day officially ended fifteen minutes ago and as you’ve been doing for two years now, your friend group meet up at your favorite location, the diner closest to campus that has become some sort of sanctuary by now.
Seohyun was majoring in communication so she did not share your classes yet somehow, the four of you have started the new school year in the same way – with a boring, way too long 8 am lecture that almost erased your will to live.
She shoots him a dirty look he doesn’t notice, but otherwise doesn’t respond, too tired to bother with Chris and his top student agenda. Because being popular, good at sports and everyone’s friend wasn’t enough for him; your best friend was the academic weapon every freshman aspired to be, without trying too hard either. Hands down the most gifted and smartest person you know.
“You did go to bed super late last night.” You reach for her hand across the table, gently massaging her palm in hopes she’ll feel a bit better.
Just then, Jisung returns with your drinks, handing them out one by one like he was a barista himself. When he’s done and you all thank him, he takes his seat across from you and Chris, next to Seohyun. “What did I miss?”
“Seohyun was complaining.” Chris responds instantly, fingers typing away. What could be more interesting than spending time with your closest friends?
“Oh, so nothing new.”
At the same time, you softly smack the back of Chris’ head while she smacks Jisung, with a little more force, only the latter reacting loudly.
“Stop being mean.” You reprimand, and Chris puts his phone down with a sigh, leaning back in his chair to stretch his arms above his head.
“For your information, being late was not my fault.” Seohyun chimes in, finally in the mood to explain herself after taking several sips of her coffee. “This random guy ran straight into me, I was tackled to the ground!”
Concern flashes over your features. “Are you okay?”
She nods. “Yeah, don’t worry. He helped me up and gathered all of my books while apologizing. Then I met up with Ji and he carried my bag to class.”
Both you and Chris shoot Jisung a curious look, not convinced he went through all of that trouble out of the kindness of his own heart.
“In my defense,” Jisung shrugs, his arm thrown over the booth behind Seohyun’s head, “I really did not want to come to class.”
Chris chuckles and sips from his strawberry milkshake while you shake your head, smiling and pinching the back of Jisung’s hand that was resting on the table, to which he retaliates by throwing the straw paper in your face.
“To be honest, I wasn’t paying attention either so he’s not entirely to blame here.” She continues like neither of you has said anything, resting her head in her palm with a dreamy look in her eyes. “Besides, he was fucking gorgeous. I swear I’ve never seen such a beautiful man before. And his freckles? Literal constellations right on his cheeks, oh my god.”
“Okay, Juliet, pipe down.” Jisung flicks her forehead and she swats his hand away, glaring.
Amused, you lean closer with interest. “Did you get his name?”
She shakes her head. “No” Then, her gaze moves to Chris. “That’s why, I need you to find him for me.”
Raising a brow, he reaches for your drink to have a taste before responding. “What am I, the local newspaper? You’re the one who bumped into him.”
“Yes, but you literally know everyone on campus.”
He makes a face, deeming your drink too bitter for his taste. “So do you.”
That was true. Seohyun was the definition of a social butterfly, mingling with all cliques and being liked by everyone she came into contact with. However, she was also very perceptive so if someone’s vibe seemed off, she could come across as cold and aloof, not giving them the time of day.
“Please?” She continues, resorting to the infamous puppy eyes. “This guy might be the love of my life, Chris, please help me.”
“What about Mark?” Jisung buts in, giving her a questioning look. Immediately, you and Chris signal for him to cut it out, abort the ship and never utter that name for as long as he draws breath.
Seohyun’s gaze drops to her cup, manicured finger moving back and forth on the edge, pretending she didn’t hear any of the words that have left Jisung’s mouth. To his credit, Jisung looks a little guilty, arm sliding over her shoulder and squeezing briefly in a silent apology, hoping it will be enough to fix things.
The probability of this mystery guy being the love of her life was low, but Chris seemed to feel bad enough to give in, exhaling deeply. Seohyun’s track record wasn’t great – for some reason, she always fell for emotionally unavailable guys, with her latest situationship ending not too long ago once she realized Mark did not want anything serious.
She didn’t deserve all that. Seohyun was the sweetest, kindest person you knew, with a heart of gold. If anyone deserved to find true love and grow old with rosy cheeks, still feeling butterflies at the mention of her beloved’s name no matter how many years passed, it was her. And you’d be damned if you didn’t try to make that happen.
“Let’s find this pretty boy of yours.” You smile as Chris nods, enjoying the way her face gradually lights up.
“Really?”
“I’d feel like I kicked a puppy while it was down if I didn’t, so what the hell. We’ve done crazier things anyways.” Chris adds and she squeals, getting out of the booth to come over and hug him, suddenly excited.
“Oh!” She rushes back to her seat, instantly rummaging through her bag. “This is his. I think it got mixed up with my books when I dropped them. He was in a hurry.”
The three of you huddle together as she places a small notebook on the table, curious about its contents that might reveal the identity of Seohyun’s prospective new…something. Let’s hope boyfriend, and nobody that treats her less than that.
Chris is the one who dares open it, flipping through the pages in wonder.
“These are…recipes?” He blinks, drawing a blank as the measurements for the perfect ‘gooey brownies’ stare him right in the face.
None of you says anything for a moment, the gears in your head turning and working simultaneously before Jisung breaks the silence with an unexpected outburst.
“Oh my god, he’s a fucking loser!”
Safe to say, he got smacked a couple more times before your next class of the day. Lovingly, of course.
︶︶︶︶༉‧₊˚.
With everyone promising to ask around for Seohyun’s prince charming, you go on with your day until your last class, when you established to meet again for a little get together with all of your other friends.
The sun was starting to set, casting a warm, golden hue that extended throughout the whole campus, creating mesmerizing surroundings you could barely look away from. Thankfully by now, you’re outside, enjoying the warm breeze and nice weather that might not return any time soon as the days will only continue to get shorter and shorter as time passes.
You’re currently near the football field, cutting through near the bleachers to get to the other side where Chris and his swimming team are currently meeting. Seohyun is skipping a few feet in front of you, obviously in good spirits.
“Didn’t know Chris needed a chaperone.” She teases, turning to you with a smile as she starts walking backwards.
You chuckle. “Well, he is our ride.”
“We could have walked.” She stretches her arms as if to prove a point. “It’s such a beautiful day! It’s a shame we have to miss out on the rest of it, too.”
You were on your way to a bar, a new one that opened all the way in Hongdae. The owner has invited 3racha, Chris and Jisung’s music group personally, so it would be rude to not show up, even if you did share her sentiment. If it were up to you, you’d be in bed, snuggling already, but your friends have made it a point to keep you out of the house as much as possible.
“Just say thank you, Seohyun.”
“Thank you, Seohyun, for being the hottest girl around!”
You both laugh, enjoying each other’s company before she turns back around and resumes her skipping, long, bleached hair flowing freely behind her in the prettiest way. As you reach for your phone to record her for memories, a speck of red gets your attention in an instant.
You keep walking but your eyes are glued to the field now, to the eight or so guys dressed in the white and red uniform of your university’s American football team. Your heart rate picks up in an instant, scanning their jersey numbers in a hurry.
Relief floods your system when you don’t find what you’re looking for, slowing down. These guys looked young, most likely freshmen trying out for a spot in the most famous football team your university has had in years. You didn’t know how that worked, your memory failed you as you tried to remember when tryouts took place. It seemed a little too early for all that though, too soon to be looking for new people when the season kicked off somewhere in October, a good month and a half away. You couldn’t help but wonder why the hurry.
“Y/n! Watch out!”
Seohyun’s screaming startles you out of your thoughts, your eyes coming into focus to see a football flying right in your direction, quickly approaching your head. Before you know it, you’re ducking and running, feeling bad for snoozing and interfering with practice. Of course, this had to happen, you were cursed after all. You could never be near a sports field without something hitting you, no matter how small or insignificant the object, it always had to make contact with your face.
However, you don’t make it very far before you come to an abrupt stop as you collide with something or better said, someone, the impact causing you to stumble a few steps back until rough, gloved hands stabilize you by the shoulders.
When you regain your footing and finally look up at your saviour, your heart actually stops.
Because the one looking back, right through you is none other than Hyunjin. Your Hyunjin.
Or actually, he wasn’t yours anymore, now, was he?
Hyunjin who’s written his name across your heart in golden letters, that suddenly lit up at the mere sight of him. Your ex-boyfriend looked almost unrecognizable, his short black hair replaced by long, bleached locks that were pushed back, away from his face in a little ponytail.
You were a fool to think he wouldn’t be here. He was the captain after all and the coach was nowhere in sight.
The air wasn’t entering your lungs anymore, yet somehow you were still breathing, being kept afloat by his familiar hands on your skin, so overly conscious of his touch that you barely registered the shiver running down your spine.
After three months apart with no communication, Hyunjin was finally looking at you, forced to acknowledge your presence. It felt a little surreal, bumping into him so soon. Sure, you were expecting it, but not on your very first day back to campus, not when you still haven’t processed the fact that you weren’t together anymore. Everything in you longed for him and all his endearing quirks, even after all this time; even after he broke your heart.
You don’t dare look away, and neither does he, enthralled by those beautiful eyes of his that used to watch your every move with so much love and care. Now, you don’t see any of these emotions, but there is an intensity to his gaze that you can’t quite put your finger on. Time always seemed to come to a stop when you were with him and right now it was no different. All of your surroundings faded, leaving him the sole object of your attention.
There was a new piercing adorning his face, right under his bleached eyebrow. It looked good, like everything he deemed worthy enough to leave a mark on his body. But that wasn’t what got your heart beating again, pounding against your ribcage at an alarming pace he was sure to hear even from afar.
Without looking away, his hands slide down your arms slowly, and for a brief moment, you think they’re going to find solace in yours, just like they’ve done for all these years. By the surprise flickering in his eyes, you believe he thought of the same thing, catching himself at the last second and taking a step back, arms falling to his side heavily.
“Yo, what the fuck was that?” A new voice has you both snapping out of it, finally allowing you to look away and escape the staring war neither had the resources to win. It’s familiar, and as someone stops right by your side, seemingly out of nowhere, there’s no doubt in your mind about his identity.
“Y/n, are you okay?
You blink, and the magic from before finally dissipates completely, almost like the spell Hyunjin has got you under broke the moment he made himself busy by reaching for his helmet on the ground. When you manage to tear your eyes from him, Yeonjun, one of his friends and teammates, comes into view and places a hand on your shoulder in concern. The ball that almost collided with your head is under his other arm, and you notice that he’s not wearing his gloves as he should be.
Eventually, you nod, looking straight into his eyes while mustering your most convincing smile. “Yeah, don’t worry. Nothing even happened.”
“It almost did.” He states, glaring towards the group of men who seemed glued on the spot. “If it weren’t for Hyunjin, things might have ended badly.”
You look away, not knowing how to act around them anymore. Hyunjin doesn’t respond either, just moves out of the way as Seohyun sprints to your rescue, pulling your body into the tightest hug and putting some distance between you and the two men.
“Are you okay? You’re not hurt anywhere, right?” She’s instantly checking you all over, dusting invisible dirt off your clothes before patting your head lovingly, just like a mother would do to comfort her sobbing child. Truthfully speaking, you weren’t far from turning into one, but the mortification of bursting into tears in front of all these people kept your emotions in check. You reckon a football to the face would have hurt less than having Hyunjin treat you like a stranger he’s meeting for the first time, barely reacting to your sudden appearance.
In hindsight, him reacting differently was almost impossible. Especially in the way you’d want him to react. Hyunjin had changed right before your very eyes in the last months before your relationship ended, burying his sweet and sensitive nature so deep down that you feared it might have gotten erased permanently.
Grasping her hands, you nod to calm her racing mind. “I’m fine, mom.” Then, you turn to Yeonjun again. “Sorry for interrupting practice like that. I should have been more careful.”
You hear Hyunjin scoff from somewhere behind you, still not brave enough to show his face, while Yeonjun shakes his head vehemently. “Nonsense. You did nothing wrong. Those guys though? They did plenty.”
He squeezes your shoulder reassuringly before excusing himself to join said guys, voice loud and annoyed. “Who were you passing that to? Are you fucking blind or just stupid?”
Yeonjun had no authority over them, not like Hyunjin did anyway. But he was still a seasoned player, one that’s been with the team for two years, so his words carried significant weight. He was a year older than all of you yet only decided to give football a chance in his second year, joining the team at the same time as Hyunjin. Their roles on the team were the opposite of each other – while Hyunjin was on the offensive, Yeonjun was a defensive player in charge of keeping the other team as far away as possible. Yet, they clicked and worked so well together that the probability of SNU losing a game with both of them present was close to none.
Bonding outside the field proved just as easy and before you knew it, Yeonjun became one of Hyunjin’s treasured friends, bringing their envied teamwork to more events than necessary.
For these guys to have a chance before the coach, they first needed to impress these two. And one thing about Hyunjin was that he was very hard to impress, especially in the areas he excelled in.
Your eyes naturally gravitate towards him along with your thoughts, his magnetic field still as strong as always. To your utter surprise, he moved to stand a little further away, facing his potential new teammates.
“Who threw that?”
The sound of his voice alone is enough to overwhelm you, suddenly way too emotional to keep still, to manage to keep your cool and act as nonchalant as he was. You haven’t heard that voice in so long, you’re sure you’d have collapsed if he as much as uttered your name.
Your name on his tongue has always been your favorite sound, no other word ever coming close to having that same effect.
Sheepishly, one of the guys steps forward while rubbing the back of their necks, visibly taken aback by the coldness in Hyunjin’s voice.
Hyunjin’s eyes narrow just as Seohyun links her arm through yours and tugs your body closer.
“Apologize.”
“Yes, captain!” He nods instantly, bowing repeatedly in Hyunjin’s direction to show exactly how sorry he feels for disappointing him. “I’m –“
“Not to me.” Hyunjin crosses his arms over wide chest, shoulder blade plates making him look even more intimidating as he stands to his full height, rolling his eyes. “To her.”
Your eyes widen as the guy looks up, searching for you with confusion visible even through his big helmet. Hesitantly, he changes targets, stopping before you and Seohyun.
“Hyunjin – “ You manage to squeak out, hating the way your voice almost gets caught in your throat, heat rushing to your face.
“Let him apologize.” His gaze travels to you leisurely, impatience clear in usual doe eyes.
But you aren’t far behind, a little annoyed by his insistence, managing to pull yourself together to counter. “I don’t think that’s necessary.”
“And last I checked, I didn’t ask for your opinion.” As quick-witted as always, Hyunjin isn’t even looking at you anymore, not bothering to react in any other way, like you weren’t even worth getting annoyed at. “He made a mistake that under normal circumstances, could have cost us the game. He needs to own up to it and apologize not only to you but to his teammates as well.”
Then, the guy seems to get smaller under his sharp gaze, instantly dropping into a deep bow and obeying Hyunjin’s words to a T. “I’m so sorry for throwing the ball in your direction!” In the next second, he’s spinning around and bowing to the other guys as Seohyun struggles to keep in her laughter at his next words. “I’m sorry for being an idiot!”
To his credit, Hyunjin hasn’t addressed him as such, always one to keep things professional. Yet, you notice the slight twitch of his mouth, obviously pleased and amused as Yeonjun bursts out laughing.
The guys bow in return, and suddenly they’re all shouting apologies at each other, owning up to all of the little mistakes they’ve made up until now that might’ve inconvenienced the other in some way, feeling bad for possibly giving anyone a hard time.
Not being able to hold it in anymore, your best friend almost collapses from laughter, needing to walk it off to calm down, only to start again as she locks eyes with Yeonjun a little farther away.
You’re so taken aback that you don’t even know how to react, watching the scene before you as flabbergasted as one could get. It was wholesome to see these kids already acting like a team but a part of you couldn’t help but feel bad once it remembered none might actually get to play and represent their university on the field. Hyunjin was trying to instil some discipline into them, but at what cost? What was the point?
Just as you’re contemplating everything that happened, the eight guys suddenly stop and turn to bow in Hyunjin’s direction as well, apologizing at the same time like it’s an activity they’ve rehearsed beforehand. It gets quiet as they wait for an answer, not even daring to raise their heads and see Hyunjin’s reaction, just patiently waiting for the go ahead so they can go back to practice.
Since when was Hyunjin running this team like the fucking marines?
Despite not looking at him, when Hyunjin nods they all stand to their full heights before him, awaiting further instructions. The mood shifts, all tense and serious like they weren’t sweet and wholesome just a moment ago.
“Since none of you seem able to handle one of these yet,” he barely finishes his sentence before Yeonjun passes him the ball, catching it with ease to hold up for the others to see. It all happened so quickly and naturally, that the others most likely didn’t notice, but you did. Hyunjin isn’t using his dominant hand. “you’ll be running laps until the coach gets here. Whoever is not up for it, drop your gears – you’re out.”
You’re expecting complaints and groans in protest but instead, they all nod and succumb to their miserable fates, doing exactly what Hyunjin has instructed. A little further away, you notice Yeonjun laughing without shame, having a blast at their expense.
“Asshole.” Seohyun murmurs, rolling her eyes, and you’re unsure who she’s talking about. “Let’s go. Any more time and Chris will send his speedo wearing army out in the wild to look for us.”
You want to laugh, to agree, and turn your back on this incident and leave without a word. But you can’t, feet lodged into place like you were standing on the biggest patch of mud around.
Hyunjin’s back was already to you, form cladded in that familiar uniform you’ve felt under your fingertips for years. The 20 under his surname written in capital letters on his jersey were almost mocking you, mad for holding their twin hostage in your mess of a closet. It doesn’t matter – in a month or so, they’ll be replaced in favour of a new design that comes around every new season. Just like your presence in his life will inevitably be filled by someone else; someone better, capable of loving him at his worst.
You had so much to say, so many words eager to escape and latch onto him, to get his attention and feed from it, growing bolder and more desperate with every second spent by his side. Hyunjin always brought the best out of you – until he broke things off. Then everything just came to a stop. Like someone lifted the stylus off of a vinyl before the song got the chance to come to an end, damaging the record and your ears in the process.
You loved music but suddenly, your life was quiet.
Hyunjin has been your muse for the entirety of your relationship, all of your songs based on him and the love that managed to blossom thanks to your shared effort. The butterflies and the fireworks all faded without a trace, making your music sound bland and meaningless, off-key since the one who inspired it was no longer there.
You wanted to call out his name, get him to stop and not leave you behind again but you didn’t know how, unable to without bursting into tears and breaking down for everyone to see. Hyunjin has been a part of your life for so many years, how were you ever supposed to start acting like he never was? Erasing him and the mark he left would surely be impossible without a potion of sorts, some Eternal Sunshine mechanism that will ensure your brain will be tricked into believing he was never here, to begin with.
Seohyun is off to the side, giving you the space needed to put your thoughts in order, for your next move. This was your chance, the moment you’ve been waiting for.
But you couldn’t do it. You couldn’t run after him no matter how loudly your heart was screaming in protest.
So, you turn around and latch onto your best friend as she begins pulling you along, quick to come to your rescue as always. Struggling to keep it together, with tears welling up in your eyes, you miss the way he turns to look in your direction one more time. One last time.
You’ve always believed Hyunjin was the love of your life, the one you’d grow old holding hands with.
Now, your perspective has changed, as did the main character role he has played in your story for the past five years. No longer was he the charming male lead, the prince coming in on a white horse to swoop you off your feet in a grand gesture of romance.
Hyunjin was the loss of your life. The one that managed to get away even with the tight grip you’ve tried to keep on his heart.
Hyunjin transformed into a background character that won’t be there for the ride, and won’t get to witness the new developments happening from now on in your life.
You would have rather been the one written off the story if it meant keeping him. Unfortunately, that was not a possibility since without you, there wouldn’t be a story to begin with.

“Can you get off my Hinge already, Y/N?” George's annoyed voice cut through the blaring music of the pub as he tried (and failed) to snatch his phone out of your hand.
“I'm trying to find you a girlfriend, Georgie,” you retorted, laughing as you dodged his attempts.
You were currently squished into a booth in the pub, sitting next to George, both of you a few drinks in (though you were definitely more drunk than him), swiping away on his Hinge profile and bickering like you two used to back in uni.
Having just moved to London a few weeks ago, tonight was a reunion of sorts. You were meeting up with George and a bunch of other friends from your uni days.
You and him had met in the first week of school, initially sitting next to each other in class, which turned into late-night study sessions and eventually blossomed into a close friendship.
George rolled his eyes. “Oh please, like you’re any better at this than I am.”
“Better at what? Being single or being hopeless at dating?” you shot back, smirking.
“How long has it been since your last relationship?” George challenged, raising an eyebrow at you.
You scoffed and looked back at him. “And how long has it been since you’ve been laid?” you teased, swiping left on yet another profile.
“Oh, trust me, Y/N, I get action,” George shot back, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Oh please, the only action you’ve seen is from your right hand,” you said, laughing at him.
“Well, that’s a lot coming from you,” George countered. “You haven’t dated since that prick from uni.”
“I actually enjoy being single,” you said, shrugging. “All you do is cry about it. You always say you want a girlfriend, but you turn down every girl that approaches you.”
George snorted. “Say that to the pint of ice cream you finished last week in under an hour while watching that chick movie and bawling your eyes out about wanting a boyfriend.”
“Whatever,” you huffed, turning back to his phone. “Oh, you got a match! I’m gonna message her.”
“Absolutely not!” George exclaimed, finally managing to pry his phone out of your hands. “Maybe if you were a little less picky, you wouldn’t be single.”
You looked at him in shock and surprise. “Really? You’re gonna talk to me about being picky?”
“You say that, but you’re the one with the mile-long checklist, not everyone can be as perfect as me, Y/N.” George retorted, shaking his head.
“If you’re so perfect, then maybe we should just date, Georgie,” you said jokingly, nudging him with your shoulder.
The both of you went silent for a moment, staring blankly at each other. Then, simultaneously, you shuddered at the thought. “No!” you both said in unison, laughing.
“God, that’d be like dating my sister,” George said, acting outwardly disgusted at your joke.
You stuck your tongue out at him, making a face.
You two continue your bickering, the atmosphere in the pub buzzing with laughter and chatter from your group of friends. After a while, your friends scatter around the pub, leaving just you and George in the booth. Just as you're deep in banter, an unfamiliar voice interrupts you two.
“Hey man,” a voice said, and you looked up to see a man with blonde curly hair approaching your booth. George got up to greet him, and from where you’re sitting, it’s very obvious that he was quite drunk himself.
"Chris, mate, how drunk are you already?" George asked, as if he had read your mind, with a chuckle, clapping Chris on the back.
Chris laughed, his grin widening. "Chip's pub golf videos always destroy me," he replied, his words slightly slurred as he swayed a little.
Chris glanced over at you, his eyes momentarily focusing as he took in your presence. "Hope I’m not interrupting," he said teasingly, turning back to George, flashing a mischievous grin.
George chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, mate, you're good. Go get yourself a drink and join us." Chris headed off to the bar, and George sat back down.
Chris returned with his drink and slid into the booth, his easy smile and sparkling eyes catching your attention.
“So, who’s your friend?” Chris asked, nodding towards you with a playful grin.
“Y/N, this is Chris, the flatmate,” George introduced, gesturing between the two of you. “Chris, this is Y/N, the best friend.”
“Hey, nice to meet you,” you greeted Chris warmly.
Chris grinned back at you. “George is wrong, you know. I’m the best friend.”
“No, you’re wrong. I've known him longer, so I am his only best friend,” you say, as you laugh at him.
“Don’t need to fight, guys,” George interjects, “There’s enough of me to go around.”
“That’s just not right,” Chris replies, ignoring George. “I live with him. Do you know how much shit I put up with? Surely that makes me his best friend.”
You chuckle, “Okay…but have you had him shotgun a can an hour before a final, puke all over your bed, and then have to clean it up and make sure he gets to campus in time?”
Chris grins, “Alright, but have you had to deal with his shit love life? Or lack thereof? And like have had to listen to him complain all the time.”
You exasperatedly add, “Yeah! Actually, I have,” you say, nodding at Chris.
You turn to George. “Honestly, George mate, you're a mess. I don’t even want to be your best friend anymore.”
Chris nods in agreement. “Yeah, man, you’re kind of a pain in the ass.”
George looks between the two of you, bewildered. “What the fuck is happening?”
You and Chris exchange a look. “Maybe we should become best friends and ditch George,” Chris suggests, winking at you.
“Guys, can we go back to both of you fighting over me?” George says, and you and Chris burst out laughing at him.
You find yourself feeling instantly drawn to Chris's charm. After a bit of small talk, you learn that Chris had been out for a shoot and decided to drop by the pub where George was once he finished. You had heard George talk about Chris before and all the antics they’d gotten up to, but you hadn’t paid much heed to it until now.
And as the night went on and you got increasingly drunker, you found yourself sitting closer to Chris. George already knew this about you; you always got increasingly flirty and bolder when you were drunk—a stark contrast to your sober self.
Usually, George was always one of your victims, jokingly hitting on him to piss him off, and he also always had to keep you away from creepy men when you were drunk. But now, with Chris in the mix, George honestly did not know what to say at the scene in front of him.
(A/N: I have no game whatsoever. Even if I did pull in the past, I was so drunk that I genuinely don’t remember. I did my best I promise)
“You’re pretty cute for someone who’s friends with George,” you say to Chris, a playful smile on your lips as you take another sip of your cocktail.
Chris grins and leans in closer. “And you’re pretty hot for someone who hangs out with him.”
You laugh, inching closer to him and playfully touching his bicep. "I know, I'm just naturally irresistible," you tease, giving him a sly look that hints at something more.
Chris chuckles, his eyes twinkling. “Well, I believe it. If you weren’t George’s friend, I’d have made a move on you the second I walked in.”
You raise an eyebrow, leaning in so your lips are just inches from his ear. “Who says you can’t make a move now?” you whisper, your breath warm against his skin. “Who knows, tonight might be your night.”
Chris’s breath hitches, his gaze darkening. “Is that so?”
George groans. “You two are disgusting. Chris, stop hitting on her. Y/N get away from him!”
You brush off George, leaning even closer into Chris’s touch. “Ignore him, he’s no fun.”
Chris says, "He's just jealous that I’ve got the attention of someone this beautiful," he murmurs back, his lips brushing lightly against your earlobe, his voice low and you hear George scoff in the back.
George rolls his eyes dramatically. “I can’t take any more of this. You two are unbearable.” He stands up, shaking his head. “I’m going to go close out our tab. You better be five feet apart when I get back.”
As George walks away, you and Chris are left alone, practically glued together at this point. “Looks like it’s just us now,” Chris murmurs, his hand migrating to your thigh, his touch sending a shiver down your spine.
You smile coyly, leaning closer to him. “And what do you plan to do now that it’s just us?” you tease, your voice laced with playful anticipation.
Chris chuckles softly, his breath warm against your ear. “When George told me about you, he didn’t mention how incredibly sexy you are. If I had to be around someone as gorgeous as you, I wouldn’t be able to control myself.”
Your heart flutters at his words, and you feel a rush of desire. “Well, it looks like you’re doing a pretty good job of controlling yourself so far,” you reply, your fingers playing with the collar of his shirt.
Chris’s eyes darken with desire. “Who says I’m trying to control myself?” he murmurs, his lips hovering just above yours, lips so close that they are almost touching.
Before things could escalate further between you and Chris, George returned, breaking the intense moment. "Okay, I think it's time to get you two home," he announced.
Despite your protests, he manages to pull you off of Chris. As you stood up, the effects of the alcohol hit you, causing you to stumble. George quickly steadied you, his arm wrapped around your waist to keep you from falling over.
Realizing it was late and knowing you were in no state to go home alone, George insisted you crash at his place, which was closer than yours and the three of you hailed a cab back to the boy’s flat.
Once there, George quickly dumps Chris in his room, before he sets you up in his own bed. He offers you some of his clothes to change out of your outfit and he opts to sleep on the couch for the night.
As you drifted towards sleep, the alcohol slowly wearing off, you couldn't help but rethink the events of the night. All your actions start to blur now, though a wave of embarrassment washes over you. You knew there would be consequences to face in the morning, but for now your body needed sleep.
-------⋆✧⋆-------
The next morning, you wake up with a pounding headache, the hazy memories of the previous night lingering in your mind. As the realization of your interaction with Chris sets in, all you wanted to do was bury yourself six feet under.
You stumble out of George’s bed, groaning softly as your head throbs. Dressed in George's oversized clothes, you made your way to the kitchen, clutching your head, desperately in need of coffee.
As you enter, you freeze at the sight of Chris, who’s already there, shuffling around in the kitchen.
He’s dressed in grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt, his hair tousled and the hangover evident on his face. You catch a glimpse of his abs when he reaches up to a cupboard, and despite your headache, you can’t help but stare for a moment, your brain going to dangerous places.
Chris turns around and spots you, offering a weak smile. You look away slightly embarrassed, fearing that you were caught staring. “Morning,” he says, his voice hoarse as he clears his throat.
“Morning,” you reply, trying to muster a smile despite the awkward tension that has settled into the air.
There’s a long, uncomfortable silence as you both avoid each other’s eyes, the memory of your flirtatious behavior lingering between you. Chris pours himself a glass of water, and you take the opportunity to grab a mug for coffee, hoping the caffeine will help clear your head. “Do you want a cup as well?” you ask, trying to break the silence.
“Huh? No, thanks,” he responds, clearly drawing himself out of wherever he had zoned out to for a minute.
“So, uh,” Chris begins hesitantly, stopping for a moment when you both hear George stirring on the couch. Chris gestures toward the balcony, and you grab your coffee and follow him outside. Once you two are there, you lean against the railing, both of you awkward, neither knowing what to say.
Chris is the first to break the silence, rubbing the back of his neck. “…last night…was something...I guess we were pretty drunk.”
“Yeah,” you agree quickly, trying to downplay your embarrassment. “Pretty drunk.”
He chuckles nervously. “I don’t usually… you know, act like that.”
“Me neither,” you admit, feeling a blush creep up your cheeks. “It was just the alcohol, I guess.”
“Definitely,” he nods, relief evident in his expression. “We can just, uh, forget about it, right?”
“Absolutely,” you say a bit too quickly. But, you feel your heart drop a little, though you don’t know why. Him wanting to not acknowledge what happened yesterday (though it was nothing) makes you slightly upset, but you don’t let it show on your face. You bury your face in your coffee, avoiding his gaze.
It was insane how comfortable you two were around each other last night, and now the air was replaced with this heavy awkwardness that neither of you knew how to break. And the worst part is you couldn’t even remember all that you did yesterday (But you're sure George won't let you forget).
“So, um, any plans for today?” Chris asks, trying to make small talk and pulling you out of your thoughts.
“Um, what? No, nothing. Just gonna get back to my place and crash,” you say, shaking your head. “You?” you ask him.
“Same,” he says. You nod in response, but neither of you knows how to continue. You both stand there, sipping your drinks and stealing glances at each other, the awkwardness palpable.
“So I should go,” you say, trying to get out of that situation as quickly as possible. Chris just nods, and you step back into the apartment, making a beeline for George’s room, just wanting to get out of there and back to your own space as quickly as possible.
All you can think is, what the hell is wrong with you? You weren’t usually like this with people…what is happening?
-------⋆✧⋆-------
After that day, George teased you endlessly about what happened with Chris. Each time, you brushed him off, ignoring his jabs, saying you didn’t want to talk about it or that you didn’t remember what happened, unwilling to revisit the embarrassing memories of that night.
You’d run into Chris a few times when you were over at the flat with George, but those interactions weren’t any better. Your interactions with Chris went from awkward to him just plain ignoring your presence now, and you didn’t know what you did wrong. Combined with how embarrassed you still felt about your actions, you decided it was better to just ignore him as well.
George would drop you knowing looks whenever that happened, but when he saw that you really didn’t want to talk about it, he eventually dropped the topic.
Until today, that was.
“I’m not feeling up to it,” you tell George, speaking with him over the phone.
“Come on, it’ll be fun. Just a movie night with some friends,” George tries to persuade you.
“I don’t know, George. I’m just not in the mood,” you reply, feeling a mix of anxiety and reluctance.
George sighs, knowing exactly why you’re hesitant. “Look, I get that things are awkward between you and Chris. But avoiding each other isn’t going to make it any better. We’re all friends here. Just come over, watch a movie, and relax. You don’t have to talk to him if you don’t want to.”
You hesitate, biting your lip. “I just... I feel so embarrassed about everything. I don’t want to make things weird.”
“See, I don’t know exactly what’s going on with the both of you, but I can tell you’re overthinking it. Things are only as awkward as you make them. We’ll have a good time, I promise. And if it gets too much, you can always leave. Just give it a chance, yeah?”
You sigh, feeling the weight of his words. “You’re right. I’m just overthinking. It’s not a big deal. I’ll see you in a bit.”
“Great! I’ll see you soon,” George says, the excitement evident in his voice.
And that is how you found yourself sitting on the floor in George’s flat, leaning up against the couch with "The Hangover" playing on the TV.
You were bundled up in a blanket, surrounded by scattered cushions, with the smell of popcorn in the air. George was sitting on the couch just behind you, lazily flicking popcorn at your head, which you returned by swatting him on the knee.
“Seriously, George, you’re worse than a child,” you scolded, turning around to look at him as another popcorn kernel hit you on the forehead.
“Can’t help it,” he replied with a grin. You whacked him on the thigh this time, but he still threw another piece your way.
It was just George and the Arthurs for now. Despite your cold conversations with Chris, you couldn’t help but feel a tiny bit disappointed when George mentioned that Chris would be running late. Even with the weird energy between you two, you were kind of maybe hoping to see him today.
You were enjoying yourself, though. You’d met Arthur Hill a few times before and got along really well, and this was your first time meeting Mr. Television (as George liked to call him), and you were having a great time with the boys.
You pull your focus away from George and instead decide to just watch the movie when you hear the door open, and your eyes dart to the entrance. Chris walks in, dressed in dark cargos and a black sweatshirt, his curls messy from the day and it made him look a little rugged, and all you could think about was how good you thought he looked.
He swings his backpack onto the floor and starts taking off his coat, before he greeted everyone.
Your heart skips a beat at how effortlessly attractive he looked. Despite the cold vibes he had been giving you this whole time, you couldn’t deny your attraction towards him.
Outwardly, you were trying to be cool about it, but inwardly, you were itching to know why he was acting like this. You give him a tight-lipped smile as you make brief eye contact, but he quickly looks away, heading to his room.
George noticed the exchange and shook his head slightly. You shot him a look that said ‘stop it’, but you knew he’d bring this up later.
After a few minutes, Chris joins you all, settling on the floor next to you while the others remain on the couch. Other than the occasional instances where you pass him the popcorn, he avoids eye contact, but you can sometimes feel his gaze on you, especially when you and George bicker in loud whispers.
You reach for the coffee table, grabbing a can of seltzer, about to take a sip, only for George to snatch it out of your hand. “George!” you exclaim, swatting him on the arm before you wipe away the few drops of the drink that he managed to spill on your shirt.
You think you hear a chuckle from Chris, but when you turn to look in the direction of the sound, his eyes are glued to the TV.
After a bit, Chris gets up and heads to the kitchen. When he returns, he silently hands you a drink. You take it with a small, surprised smile, touched by the sweet gesture even if things between you two are still a little awkward. "Thanks," you murmur.
He nods in response, his genuine smile making your heart flutter before his eyes flick away from yours, and you feel yourself melt.
As the credits roll on the third film, George nudges you and suddenly pulls you into his room.
“What the fuck is going on with you and Chris?” George asks bluntly, shutting the door behind him.
You sigh, running a hand through your hair. “Honestly, I have no idea. After that day at the pub, it’s been so weird. I don’t even know the guy, and I feel like he hates me or something. Is he like this with everyone he just meets?”
George frowns, looking apologetic. “Not really… Normally, you can’t get him to shut up.”
“I get such cold vibes from him,” you admit, frustration seeping into your voice. “What did I do wrong?… Whatever, I don’t care, but its annoying.” You pause, then add with a small, reluctant smile, “It doesn’t help that every time I look at him, I drool.”
George responds, slightly shocked, “I—I’m sorry, what?”
You roll your eyes and say, “I’ve been single for so long that I’m even attracted to your shitty friend.”
George laughs, shaking his head. “He can get on your nerves, but he’s not that bad. But, he can be a little socially challenged around people he—”
George stops mid-sentence, seeming to have a moment of realization, his expression shifting. “Huh.”
“What? What’s wrong?” you ask, confused.
“Nothing, don’t worry about it,” he says quickly, disappearing out of the room before you can press further.
You stand there confused for a second before you return to the living room, where Arthur Hill and Arthur TV was tidying up. You decide to join them, looking around, wondering where George and Chris had suddenly disappeared to.
You help them gather the empty bottles and snack wrappers, making small talk. Just as you're finishing up, George and Chris reappear, both looking shady as hell, whispering to each other.
You look at George, giving him a pointed look. "What was that about?" you whisper, nodding toward Chris, who was leaning against the kitchen counter with the Arthurs, laughing about something.
George shrugs, trying to play it cool. "Nothing, just guy talk."
You give him a look. "Tell me."
"Really, it was nothing," he insists.
You roll your eyes, annoyed. "Fine, whatever, don’t tell me. I need to get home anyway, it’s getting late."
George quickly checks the time on his phone. "It’s almost midnight. Why don’t you just sleep here?"
"I just wanna be back in my own bed. At midnight is not that late, and I barely live like a 15 min walk away," you explain to him.
"You can just as easily walk home in the morning," he says.
Before you can protest, he continues, "You know what, fine. But I don’t want you going home alone." He turns toward the kitchen and shouts, "Chris! Do you mind driving Y/N back home? I would do it myself…but can’t drive mate."
Chris whips around, looking between the two of you, clearly flustered at George’s request. "Uh, sure, no problem."
You quickly interject, "It's okay, I can get home on my own. I don’t want to trouble you."
Chris clears his throat. "It's no trouble," he assures you, grabbing his keys. "Let's go."
You grab your stuff and walk out the door with him. The ride down in the elevator is silent. You play with your nails, trying to avoid his gaze, while he shifts uncomfortably beside you. When you reach the car, Chris opens the door for you, and you thank him. "Thanks, Chris."
"Don’t thank me yet," he jokes as you both buckle up. "I’ve only had my UK license for a month now, so we’ll see how this goes."
You look at him, slightly alarmed. "Seriously? Get me out of the car."
He laughs, and you join in. "I know how to drive, I just haven’t driven much since I moved to London."
Some of the tension eases, and you both relax a bit. He hands you his phone. "Can you enter your address into the GPS?"
You do, and as he starts driving Chris glances at you, "So, why did you move to London?"
You smile, happy to have a conversation starter. "Work, mostly. And also ‘cause I have friends here.”
He nods. “So, you liking London so far?”
You nod, looking at him as you speak. “Yeah, I like it. But the city gets overwhelming sometimes. Sometimes I just wanna run back home.”
Chris nods in agreement. “Same, especially when I miss my family. And I get it, sometimes you need to get away from George.”
You chuckle, wanting to keep the conversation going. “Be honest with me… how have you not killed him yet?”
He laughs, responding, “I won’t lie, I’ve plotted his murder many a times.”
You both laugh, and the conversation continues, light-hearted and easy. For the first time in like a month, the conversation between you two feels natural. And before you know it, you’d reached your apartment.
"Thanks for the ride, Chris," you say, unbuckling your seatbelt.
"No problem," he replies, his smile genuine. The air goes silent as you both stare at each other.
"Umm... goodnight," you say, quickly getting out of the car, feeling a tad bit awkward.
"Goodnight," he responds, and you gently close the door.
He waits until you're inside the building before driving off, and for the first time, you feel a warm, hopeful sensation in your chest and you can’t seem to wipe away the smile on your face the whole way up to your flat.
-------⋆✧⋆-------
The next day, you and George meet for dinner after you’re done with work. “I can’t believe he’s engaged”, you say as you move your food around on your plate, letting out a frustrated sigh.
“Why do you care?” George asks between bites of his burger. “You hated him by the end of your relationship.”
“I know, but why does someone like him get to be happy?” you sighed. “I’m just tired of being single. Why is it so hard to find someone half decent?”
“Maybe you’re looking in the wrong places,” George says, trying to sound all philosophical.
You raise an eyebrow. “What are you on about?”
He shrugs, laughing as he says, “Maybe you should date Chris.”
You almost choke on your drink. “Chris? Really? Chris? We can barely hold a conversation!”
George smirks. “Didn’t you say you guys got along fine last night? And don’t get me started on drinks last month. And don’t lie to me…you think he’s hot,” he says, making a fake gag face.
“What? No, I don’t,” you protest. “I might be desperate, George, but not desperate enough to date your friends.”
“What’s wrong with dating one of my friends?” George mocks hurt.
“I was kinda hoping that once I got a boyfriend, I just wouldn’t have to see you anymore,” you joke.
George clutches his chest dramatically. “Ouch!”
The drive with him the other day was fine, more than fine and he was kind of sweet actually. You laugh, but the thought of dating Chris stays on your mind, an idea that you might not be all that opposed to. -------⋆✧⋆-------
A week had passed since your conversation with George, and despite trying not to let it affect you too much, you couldn't deny still feeling on cloud nine after that drive with Chris (even if it was barely 10 minutes long).
You and Chris were now following each other on social media. You'd occasionally chat or reply to each other's stories, gradually warming up to each other. You found yourself craving more time alone with him, curious about what it would be like to get to know him better.
But right now, you were looking forward to a quiet weekend in, finally getting to that book you had been putting off for weeks now. With a cozy blanket wrapped around you and a hot cup of tea, you settle onto your couch, eager to dive into your book.
Just as you start to get lost in the pages, a notification pops up on your screen. You peek over at your phone and see a text message from George.
George: Hello best friend Y/N: What do you want? George: Wow. Warm welcome Y/N: Fine. Hiii Georgieeee….What do you want? George: So you know how you are the smartest, strongest person I know 🥺 Y/N: Just spit it out 🙄 George: Can you please come over and help me build that dresser I ordered for my room? Y/N: And there it is... George: So..? Y/N: No, don’t want to. George: Pleaseeeeee….I’ll buy you food Y/N: No George: Come on, please 😩 Y/N: No….you’re gonna make me do all the work George: I won’t...and I’ll throw in dessert Y/N: You’re impossible George: 👀 Y/N: Fine….See you in 10 George: 🫡🙇
With a sigh, you set your book aside and started getting ready to head over to George's place. Not bothering to change out of your comfy sweats, you threw on a jacket and made your way out.
When you arrived at George's flat, you knocked on the door and waited. To your surprise, Chris answered, looking equally surprised to see you. "Hey, Y/N. What are you doing here?"
“George asked me to come over, said he needed help building his dresser”, you explain, and Chris steps aside, letting you step inside.
Chris says, “Hmm, he asked me to help as well, after complaining for a straight 5 mins about not wanting to do it on his own.”
"That little bitch," you huffed, pulling out your phone from your pocket.
Y/N: Where the fuck are you!!??? George: Sorry emergency Y/N: What? George: Please help a guy out Y/n: Why!? It’s your dresser! George: Chris will help Y/N: Wait George: Bye
You breathed out in frustration, realizing all too well what George was trying to do. Deep down, though, you were somewhat glad to have some time alone with Chris. Fingers crossed you'd be able to hold a conversation today.
You huffed and shoved your phone in your pocket, then turned to face Chris. "Yep, he's ditched us, the bastard," you said, looking back up at Chris who was watching you with an amused expression.
Chris chuckled, and you felt a bit self-conscious. "What?"
"The Powerpuff Girls?" he asked, a small smile curling up on his lips.
"What? I'm here to build furniture, not walk a red carpet," you replied, glancing down at your pajamas, trying to appear nonchalant but secretly cursing yourself for not dressing better. Chris just laughed, shaking his head.
“Great…it’s just the two of us." you said, catching Chris's attention as he looked at the unpacked table pieces that George had left for you.
Chris raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk on his lips. "You act like it's a bad thing."
You chuckled, picking up a screwdriver. "Let's just survive this project together first."
"Survive? Geez…It's just an Ikea dresser," Chris teased, walking towards the scattered pieces.
"Yeah, but have you ever tried assembling furniture with George? He pulls everything out of the box, doesn’t organize anything by the way, then he just gives up and leaves you to figure stuff out," you vented, holding up a loose screw you found on the floor a good distance from the table for emphasis.
Chris laughed, shaking his head. "Can't say that I have. Lucky for me you’re here to pick up the pieces," he joked lamely, and you couldn't help but roll your eyes, letting out a small laugh at his attempt.
"Let’s just build this stupid thing," you said, walking towards the mess.
Chris chuckled. "Yes, ma'am," he replied, looking around for the instruction manual.
Chris sighed in frustration, looking through the jumbled pieces. "Damn, where did George put those instructions?"
"Knowing George, he probably already threw out the instructions with the outer box," you said, half-jokingly. You fear you might be right, shuffling through everything and not finding the booklet.
You sit on the ground and try to organize the pieces, placing everything into neat piles. Chris picked up a piece and moved to place it in what he thought was the right pile.
"No, not that one," you said, pointing to a different pile. "Put that there."
Chris chuckled. "You're a little type A, aren't you?"
You grinned. "That's not the insult you think it is." You laughed lightly, enjoying the banter.
The two of you get on with trying to put the piece of furniture together.
Chris was completely engrossed in screwing in the legs, his brow furrowed in concentration. You couldn’t help but notice how his features hardened with determination, and you find him extremely attractive in this moment.
"You're really into this," you teased lightly, nudging him with your elbow as you passed him the next piece.
Chris glanced up, a playful glint in his eye. "Of course. Gotta impress you with my handyman skills."
You chuckled, kneeling down to align a set of screws. "Impress me, huh? Well, if you can get through this without instructions, color me impressed."
“Prepare to be amazed, Y/N,” Chris replied with a grin, returning to his task.
Your eyes involuntarily lingered on his arms, noticing how his t-shirt hugged his muscles snugly. You found yourself imagining running your hands across his arms and over his chest, remembering how you felt that night when inhibitions were lower.
Chris's voice snapped you out of your daze. "Sorry, what was that?" you asked, needing him to repeat his words.
"No, I was just…" Chris paused for a moment, sitting on the floor, pausing the task at hand. He hesitated as he looked up at you.
"Go on, what is it?" you encouraged him, curious about his question.
He started cautiously, "I've always wondered, why did you and George never date?"
You laughed softly, surprised by the question. “George? I don’t know, it’s just something that never happened. I don't even think either of us ever even considered our relationship to go that way”
Chris gives you a skeptical look, "Really? Not even once?"
"Not even once," you confirmed, shaking your head. "George and I have always been more like siblings."
Chris nodded softly, as if processing your answer. "Good to know."
Though slightly taken aback by his reaction, you chose not to dwell on it for too long.
“How did your shoot go this week?” you ask him.
Chris perks up a little, clearly pleased by your interest. "Oh, it was great! But it did go a lot longer than usual. I'll blame that on Arthur and his terrible football skills. But the audience will never find out. I should probably pay my editors more for making him look somewhat competent at football."
You both laugh, and Chris continues to talk about YouTube and some of his ideas. You can't help but smile at how passionate and happy he sounds when he talks about his work.
After a while, you two pull yourselves out of the conversation and get back to finishing the dresser.
"So, if you had to rate my IKEA furniture-building skills, what would you give me?" Chris asks, a playful grin on his face as the two of you now sit on the couch.
"Hmm," you ponder, pretending to be deep in thought. "Solid seven."
"Seven!?" Chris asks, feigning outrage, leaning in a little closer. "I thought I did pretty good."
"It would be higher, but you get distracted easily," you tell him, the space between you and Chris now barely a breath.
"Well, you were the one distracting me," Chris says, and you're taken aback by his comment. Your mouth falls slightly open, suddenly very aware of the proximity between you two.
Before you can respond, the door swings open, and George walks in, looking between the two of you with a mischievous grin. "Well, you two seem to be getting along well." You quickly get up from your place next to Chris.
You stare back blankly at George, arms crossed over your chest. "How was your... emergency?"
George's grin widens. "All sorted," he replies nonchalantly, before turning around to enter his room. "So which one of you is gonna help me move the dresser into my room?"
You and Chris exchange annoyed looks, then smile at each other, his smile exceedingly tugging at your heart, before you both scream, "Do it yourself!"
-------⋆✧⋆-------
Over the next few weeks, you and Chris had become friends, finding yourself spending time with him more often. You still couldn’t believe that just a few months ago you two couldn’t even look each other in the eye.
However, it seemed like every time you made plans with George or any of his friends, Chris was always there, and you two would magically end up alone together. You didn't think much of it, knowing that as much as you loved George, you hated him meddling in your love life, and he knew that as well. So, there’s no way he was involved, right? (Or maybe, deep down, you hoped that all the time you’ve been able to spend with Chris was somewhat of a sign and not your nosy best friend getting involved.)
You were at George’s place yet again (where else could you be? You only had like two friends) and helping him clean out his closet, stuffing his old clothes into donation boxes.
Slyly, you asked, “Where are the rest of your flatmates?”
George replied, “You know…they’re around,” without making eye contact, his back turned to you.
“And Chris?” you asked, slightly hopeful.
George looked up at you, almost as if he was wishing that you hadn’t asked that question.
You caught his expression, furrowing your eyebrows in worry. “What’s wrong?”
George placed the T-shirt he was folding gently into the box before turning to look at you. “Okay, so don’t get upset.”
“Why would I get upset?” you asked, a little concerned.
“Before I tell you, know that I told him not to do it,” George started.
“George... speak,” you demanded, poking him in the chest.
“Chris is out on a date,” he finally said.
You feel your heart plummet to the pit of your stomach, “Oh, good for him.”
George looked at you, clearly noticing your attempt to hide your disappointment. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m okay. Why wouldn’t I be okay?” you said, trying to brush it off and distract yourself by placing more clothes into the box.
“Y/N, come on. You really don’t think I know you better than you know yourself?” he looked at you matter-of-factly and you were struggling to maintain eye contact with him.
“I’m fine, George,” you tell him, trying to get him to drop the topic, but he only looks at you like he doesn't believe you.
“Y/N. I know you like Chris”, he states and you feel your whole body freeze.
“What? No, I don’t,” you retorted, and honestly, even you couldn’t believe the words coming out of your mouth.
“Y/N—”
“George—”
“I see the way you look at him, Y/N, and when he speaks, you hang on his every word,” he interrupts you.
“George, no... Chris and I, we’re just barely friends,” you try to explain to him.
“I know you two had a rocky start, well, a drunk and touchy start,” he teased, dodging the T-shirt you threw at him, “but you’ve grown closer over the past few months and I think you’re just in denial about your feelings. Plus you look like you wanna jump him every time you look at him.”
You sat there on the edge of the bed for a minute, thinking about what George had said. Yes, things were a little iffy at the start, but you had grown to like his company. He was funny, quite sweet, and in recent times, easy to talk to. Not to mention, every time you looked at the man, it was like your brain short-circuited at how hot he looked.
George carefully considered his words before continuing. “You’ve always been like this, Y/N…cautious.”
As his words sank in, it dawned on you.
“Holy fuck, George! I like Chris,” you exclaimed, falling back onto the bed. “How did this happen? I feel like I’ve gone insane. When did I become so blind to my own feelings?”
George watched you in amusement, a small smile playing on his lips. “Took you long enough to admit it.”
“But–-,” you sat up, turning to George who was now sitting on the opposite corner of the bed, “there’s no way he likes me back.”
“Eh?” George responded, confused. “Why would you think that?”
“Because the guy is literally on a date right now,” you say, exasperated.
“So?”
“What do you mean, “So”? If he liked me even a little bit, he wouldn’t be going on dates,” you say, throwing your hands up in frustration.
“Probably because he doesn’t know you like him. Just tell the guy,” he suggests, his face soft, laced with concern.
“I can’t do that,” you look at him, your voice coming out almost broken.
“Why?” George comes to sit next to you, placing a comforting hand on your back.
You take a deep breath before you continue, “Because things just got somewhat good with him. We’re finally past that awkward phase and are friends now. I don’t want to go back to that cold phase when he ultimately rejects me.”
“He’s not gonna reject you, Y/N,” he says, throwing his arm around, pulling you into his side.
“How do you know?” you look up at him.
“For Christ’s sake, Y/N, just tell the guy how you feel.” he says, as he pulls away from you so that you’re both now facing each other.
“No, I can’t do that,” you said, getting up off his bed and heading out of his bedroom.
“What, Y/N! Where are you going?” he asked, following you.
“Home,” you said, making a beeline for the door.
“Why?"
“So that I can go to bed and wake up and forget about all of this,” you said looking back at him, hand now on the door knob.
“Y/N…”
“Bye, George,” you said, before opening the main door and closing it behind you, confusion and uncertainty swirling in your head.
-------⋆✧⋆-------
“Here,” Arthur Hill handed you a drink, and you threw him a quick thanks, quickly gulping down the liquid. Arthur looked at you, concerned. The party was lively around you, the usual chaos of a house party at George’s place.
George had convinced you to come to the party, saying it’d be a good distraction, to get your mind off of things—things being Chris.
George had promised you that Chris was busy tonight and wouldn’t be here, so you reluctantly agreed (though George had to beg a lot more than he was hoping he’d have to).
You had only arrived a few minutes ago, and you already wanted to leave. You just wanted the peace and quiet of your room to contemplate about your doomed love life and drown your sorrows in a pint of ice cream.
“You okay?” Arthur asked, pulling you out of your daze. “You look distracted.”
“Hmm? Yeah, I’m fine,” you replied with a half-hearted smile and you were grateful that Arthur didn’t push any further.
"I'm gonna get myself another drink," you said, and Arthur nodded in response before you navigated through the crowd toward the kitchen.
You made yourself a drink, pouring whatever bottle of alcohol was closest to your reach into your cup, wanting something strong. If you couldn’t drown yourself in ice cream, alcohol would have to do. (Not your smartest idea, but oh well.)
You took a sip of your concoction, the liquid burning as it flowed down your throat. You turned around but just as you were about to head back to find Arthur, when you spotted him. Chris.
He was the last person you wanted to see right now, but you couldn’t take your eyes off him. How did he manage to get even hotter than the last time you’d seen him? (Honestly, it was torture.)
But there he was, talking to some girl you’d never seen before. The sight felt like a punch in the stomach, knocking the air out of your lungs. All you wanted to do was leave. You placed your drink on the counter and set your sights straight at the door. In your haste, you didn’t pay much attention to your surroundings and bumped into someone. Looking up, you saw it was George.
"Whoa, where's the fire?" George asked, blocking your path.
"George, I need to leave," you said, trying to sidestep him.
“Why? What happened?” he asked, but before you could answer, he glanced over your shoulder and saw Chris. “Oh, I see.”
“Just talk to him, Y/N,” he tried to persuade you. “Whatever the outcome, it’ll make you feel better.”
“George, are you crazy? I can’t” You looked up at him, and the vulnerable look in your eyes made his heart break.
“Fine, but please don’t leave. Just take a breather for a minute. You should at least stay and enjoy the party,” he insisted. You opened your mouth to protest, but he cuts you off, “Just stay in my room for a bit. You can come back out after a while.”
You agreed, knowing he wouldn’t take no for an answer, and turned towards his room. “Good,” he said, pushing you gently by the shoulders.
Once you were in his room, you turned to look at him. “Now stay put, I’ll be right back.” You nodded, and he headed back out of the room.
You took a seat on his bed, and before you knew it, you heard the door open. Expecting to see George, you froze when you found Chris instead.
“George, what are you doing?” Chris protested as George pushed him into the room. “Stop, bro!”
You got up and shout, “George! What the hell?”
“You two talk,” George said, pointing at both of you before quickly shutting the door. You heard the lock click.
You rushed to the door, trying to turn the knob, but it wouldn’t budge. “Bastard locked us in,” you said to Chris.
“George! Let me out!” you protested, banging on the door.
“Not until you two talk to each other,” George yelled back.
You turned to find Chris looking just as surprised as you. “Well, this is awkward,” Chris said, rocking back and forth on his feet with his hands shoved into his pockets. “I might be wrong...but I think George wants us to talk.”
You sighed, leaning against the door. “Yeah, he’s a lot of things… but subtle, he is not.”
Chris chuckled. “What gave it away?”
Your suspicions were right. That motherfucker had been playing you this whole time, getting Chris to drive you home, finding ways to get the two of you to spend time alone, locking you in his room. And you’d walked right into it. Idiot.
“That slimy little shithole,” you muttered to yourself.
You laughed out loud. “So George seems to think we would make a good match.”
“What?” Chris said, looking nervous.
“Did you not realize?” You looked at Chris, and he was staring at you with an unrecognizable look on his face.
“Well…” he started sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. “I kind of knew.”
“What do you mean you knew, Chris?” you asked, confused.
“I mean, I knew George was trying to set us up, he sort of told me he would, that day that you were over at our place for movie night.” he admitted.
“I’m sorry…?” you ask him again, arms crossed.
You raised an eyebrow. “And you were okay with it? Why didn’t you say anything?”
Chris sighed. “I promise, I told him not to! And I just didn’t know how to bring it up..... But honestly, I didn’t mind. I liked spending time with you.”
You felt your heart skip a beat. “What? You liked spending time with me?”
He nodded. “Yeah. I’ve kind of liked you since the day we first met in the pub.”
“But that was months ago,” you said, incredulous. “Why didn't you say anything till now?”
He sighed, looking down for a moment before meeting your eyes. “I don’t know. All I know is that every time I look at you, it’s like the words leave my mouth. Of course, I wanted to talk to you after that night, but I didn’t know what came over me every time. You’re literally the most gorgeous woman I’d ever laid my eyes on, and each time I wanted to ask you out, I’d choke up.” “But what about that date?” you asked, trying to process everything. “If you liked me so much, then why did you go on a date?”
Chris looked a little guilty. “George told you about that?” You nodded before he continued, “You can’t blame a guy for trying to move on, especially when a girl like you couldn’t possibly like me back,” he said softly.
You shook your head. “Chris, I… I’ve liked you too. I think I’ve liked you the whole time. But I didn’t think you did, especially after how everything was after we got drunk that night.”
Chris stepped closer, hope in his eyes. “You like me too?” he asked again, making sure he wasn’t wrong about what he heard.
“Yes, Chris, I like you too,” you responded.
“So we’re both hopeless in the love department?” he asked.
“Yep, looks like it,” you said, laughing. “So hopeless that we needed Cupid Clarkey to get us to finally admit our feelings.”
You both stared at each other for a moment before bursting into laughter.
Chris stopped to look at you, stepping even closer. “God, I love your laugh,” he said softly, and you looked at him shyly.
“And you have the most amazing eyes I’ve ever seen,” you stepped closer as well and he flashes that gorgeous smile of his, the kind that gets your stomach in knots.
He said, “You know, I regret nothing from that night.”
You replied teasingly, “Really?”
He nodded, “Well, there’s only one thing I regret.”
You asked, “And what’s that?”
He said, “That I didn’t get to kiss you,” as he tucked a stray strand of your hair behind your ear, his eyes go dark and intense, piercing into your soul.
“Well, what are you waiting for?” you whispered, and with that, Chris crashed his lips onto yours.
The kiss was everything you’d dreamed of and more. His arm snaked around your waist, pulling you closer, while your arms made their way around his neck and your hand tangling into those perfect curls of his, tugging slightly, earning a groan from him.
The kiss was filled with so much emotion, both of you pouring everything into it—all the pent-up feelings from the past months. It was intense, and full of passion and tenderness, leaving you breathless. You could feel his heart pounding in sync with yours, the heat between you two electrifying. It was as if the world had melted away, and there was nothing but this moment.
Chris pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against yours. “I’ve wanted to do that for so long,” he whispered.
You smiled, feeling the warmth of his breath against your lips. “Me too.”
Before either of you could say anything else, you heard a slight thud outside the door. Chris gave you a knowing look, and you raised your voice intentionally louder. “Well, George’s bed looks nice doesn’t it? I think he just put new sheets on.”
Chris chimes up, “Maybe we should use it. We’re locked in here anyways. Might as well make the most of our time.”
Immediately, you heard George unlocking the door, bursting into the room. “Okay, get out, both of you. I don’t want you two fucking on my bed.”
You and Chris burst into laughter. Chris scooped you up playfully and ran off to his bedroom, shutting the door behind you two.
Once you were in his room, he slowly placed you on the ground, then pulled you onto his lap as he sat at the edge of the bed.
“So... I think I should ask you properly,” he said, looking up at you.
Chris leaned in, his forehead resting against yours. “Now that you know how I feel about you, what do you say we give this a shot? Will you go out with me?”
You nodded, heart pounding in your chest. “I’d like that, Chris.” and he flashed you a smile.
“We really should be thanking George,” he said.
“Yeah, normally I hate him meddling, but this time I don’t mind. But please don't tell him that, or I'll never here the end of it,” you said as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
Chris grinned. Forget about it then, I just want to kiss you again.”
You laughed, and with that, you closed the distance again, letting yourself melt into his touch. The feeling of his soft lips sent a shiver down your spine.
This moment felt perfect, like you fit together in a way that was always meant to be. His arms wrapped around you securely, pulling you closer, and you could feel the steady beat of his heart against yours. You hated to admit it, but George playing cupid had turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to you and Chris.

Across the hall (pt. 2)
Summary: just George and you getting to know each other a bit better.
Warnings: pure smut. Choking kink, Dom!George, and much more.
Words: 4k
A/n: I'll leave this here and go back to my cave. I just finished uni and now I have much more time for writing so let's just see how it goes. Hope you like this very much!
A few days later you two meet at the same caffee of the last time.
“So what about Georgie?”
You flush once again “I mean, he is really nice, I don’t really know much about him”
“It’s not like you have to know an awful lot of someone to want to fuck them” she stated “By the way, I think he likes you too, we went to see him on Tuesday and he couldn’t shut up about you and your paintings, and he isn’t really an artsy guy, you know?”
“But before this , he barely even looked at my direction, I’m sure he didn’t even know I existed”
“Girl! The only reason I went for sugar to your house is because he said you looked nice and didn’t want to go by himself, we weren’t even baking a cake” her answer took you by surprise.
“Lily!”
You kept talking to her as the days went by, you were more similar than what you would’ve thought. But he wouldn’t stop bringing up George, dead-set on getting you two together.
You haven’t seen him since the last interaction at your apartment one week ago. So you were surprised when you saw him knocking at your door.
“Hi” you greeted him, failing to hide your smile “is there anything you need”.
“Not really” he answered “I thought it was only fair to invite you for coffee at my place since you invited me the other day.” he proposed to you shyly.
“Sure I would love to,” you said enthusiastically.
You walked to his flat, very different from yours, sober and modern style, almost impersonal, probably because he has recently moved in. You smiled when you saw some of his helmets and pictures of a much younger him from when he was in the lower racing categories.
“You were cute here” he smiled as a red layer covered his cheeks.
“Well, do you want to sit down? I can put on a movie or something while I prepare the drinks” he muttered.
“Yeah, sure”. After a while he returns and sits next to you, fairly close to you, but not enough. Neither of you started a conversation at first, feeling a bit awkward. It’s him who breaks the silence.
“How is your artwork coming?” you turn to him to answer.
“I finished the piece I was working on when you visited, now I’m working on a personal piece.” he hummed and turned his gaze to the tv. A while after, you turn your head to discover him already looking at you. This man has to be interested in you, right? The looks he’s been giving to you since you’ve entered his apartment screaming “I’m thinking about fucking you right now”. He wouldn’t be smirking and staring at you if he didn’t want to sleep with you. But were you going to act on it? Hell no.
“So, you are a formula one driver” you stated.
“I am indeed” he answered.
“And how is it?” you asked, genuinely curious about it.
“Well, I’ve been racing all my life and formula one is the top of racing, so it feels like an actual dream but it also has its flaws. I don’t really like all of the press stuff and how paparazzis and magazines intrude into your private life, ” he said. You bite your lip while listening to him.
“If you don’t stop biting your lip like that I don't know how much more I could control myself” he mutters so quietly that you almost can’t hear him, but you do. Your eyes go wide as you freeze, watching how he licks his lips as he approaches you “God I want to fuck you so bad.”
All the breath leaves your body, heat rushing to your core. Your cheeks are bright red, heart shaking as you look at him.
He actually wants you. He wants to fuck you.
All you can do is look at him, muttering a quiet “George…” Before he is leaning over you, body pressing against yours, lips so close that you can feel his hot breath, hands gripping your chin. You can feel the slight hardness poking at your stomach so you look down briefly before looking into his eyes again.
George’s blue eyes stare into yours, watching your every movement. Your lips are practically brushing each other. And his hand goes to your hip, pressing you close to him. A moan escapes your mouth before his lips are fully into yours, silencing you.
It takes you a second to respond to the kiss. But then you feel his lips move against your and follow, kissing him with passion. Your hands come up to hold onto him. One pressing against his cheek and the other on the back of his head, so you can run it through his hair. He presses you harder against him as his other hand goes to your hair tugging it, leaving your neck uncovered, so he can start to kiss it and bite it.
He lets out a little moan when you pull his hair to bring your lips together again.
One of his hands moves up to your neck, wrapping around it and adding a light pressure. You take his bottom lip with your teeth , pulling back and biting down lightly before pulling away from his lips entirely.
He stares down at you, hand wrapped around your neck as you pant and whine, legs wrapped around him squeezing while you attempt to grind into him.
“Do you like it rough sweet girl?” A laugh escapes him, fingers pressing into your throat a little tighter for a moment, you moan out, nodding your head.
Right now you feel like you’ve never before, relinquishing all your control to George as your mind goes fuzzy and your pussy gets wetter.
Both of you moan when George grinds his cock straight into you, the friction scratching right against your clit.
He buries his head into your neck befores going upwars, his mouth coming to rest beside your ear.
“I’m going to take you into my room and I’m going to eat this pussy before fucking you raw. Is that alright darling?” your pussy clenches as and your head is nodding before he grabs you under your thighs and picks you up, walking through his apartment towards his bedroom.
You bounce on the bed when he throws you down, giggling while you lay there and stare at him.
He stands at the end of the bed, tall and imposing.
You watch as he takes off his t-shirt, his body skinny but full of muscle, wanting nothing more than to rip the rest of his clothes, but he is quicker as he grabs your legs and slides you down the bed.
“Do you want this sweetheart?” he stares down at you with a smirk, palming his erection through his trousers. You glance at him, nodding your head. “Words, darling”
“Yes,” you mutter.
“Yes what? Your eyebrows furrow, and you take a moment comprehending what you heard before you realise.
“Yes sir” you practically moan.
He lets out a groan at your words, hands rushing to undo your belt and take off your trousers, sliding them down your legs, leaving you in only your panties.
You’re grateful that you didn't choose to wear your teddy bear panties, maybe you knew that something like this could happen.
George moans when he sees your soaked underwear, a hand reaching your covered pussy. You whine and move your hips up, only hoping that he would do something else. “George…” Suddenly he is rushing to pull your pants down your legs, spreading them and throwing them over his shoulders as he kneels in front of you.
You lay there in anticipation as George lays open mouthed kisses on your thighs. He continues to tease you, coming closer to your core before moving away. Your whine at the teasing.
“So desperate for me, aren’t you?” When you look down at him, he’s still looking at you, lips puffy from all the kisses you shared. “If you beg me I might just consider going further love” he says before nipping the skin of your thigh.
Your legs tighten around his head “Please, George, please, I need it so bad”. He scoffs against your leg, a hand going up to caress your ass gently, before laying a smack onto it, making your hips buck into him.
“I don’t think I remember what I told you to call me, was it that?” He says sharply.
“Please sir…” you let out another whine as he licks a strip up your pussy, getting the attention you needed.
“You taste so good, sweet girl” he says before diving back and running his tongue all the way to your clit, sucking it.
You moan out, and your hands fly to tangle in his hair and pull. He lets out a moan and brings an arm to hold your hips down, continuing his duty.
You cannot stop moaning, a pressure building up your lower stomach as he continues with his torment.
He fucks you with his tongue, his nose digging into your clit, one of his hands harshly gripping onto your thighs as they rest on his shoulders. All you can do is look down and watch him, eyes almost closed because of the pleasure.
His hand releases your leg and comes to your pussy, one of your fingers sliding into it, making your grip on his hair tighten.
He puts another one not long after, curving both of them, hitting the spot that makes you see stars. He pulls his face away from you for a moment, his fingers still fucking you as he looks up at you, his chin covered in your slick. Your walls clench around his fingers, making him let out a laugh, motivating him to do it harder.
“Such a dirty little whore, aren’t you?” you tighten around his fingers as he says it, making him laugh again “You like that, don’t you? My little slut” you let out a moan indicating that you are going to come soon.
“I-I’m going to come” you stutter, not being able to form a coherent sentence.
“Yeah baby? Are you going to soak my fingers like the dirty girl you are?” you feel as he adds a third one, stretching you.
You moan as a confirmation, and he leans down again, sucking you hard as he continues pounding his fingers into you.
You feel your stomach pull tighter, as your release comes, moaning his name as you cum. Your legs shake, back arching as the pleasure invades you. That doesn’t make him stop, as he continues licking you through your orgasm.
He pulls away from your pussy, and lets his hand to his mouth, tasting your release as he lets out a moan.
He stands up fully, towering over you once again as you lay in bed, recovering from the orgasm that has just hit you.
You come back to earth as you feel him grab your waist and hike you up the bed, resting your head on one of the pillows that lies there. Then he dives down to connect your lips and your hands go up to wrap around his shoulders, nails digging into them. You continue to kiss as he grinds his erection over your pussy. You shake at the overstimulation, whining when his lips leave your mouth. You open your eyes to see him hovering over you, smirk on his face.
“From the moment I saw you I knew I had to ruin you” he says, eyes dark with lust. You moan at his words.
“Please fuck me George” you mutter, pulling him back down and kissing him fiercely. He pins your wrists to the bed, taking control.
He pulls away, releasing your arms and pulling you up so he can pull your shirt off, admiring your breasts in your bra before removing it. He pushes you back down and starts laying kisses across your chest until he takes one of your nipples into his mouth, sucking it lightly and pinching the other one with his hand. You moan, your hips grinding on him and hands on his hair as he continues to lap at your breasts, switching between them.
He pulls away and stares at you for a moment, “I’m going to fuck you so hard” he says before pulling away undoing his pants so he can push them and his underwear down, revealing his cock to you.
He’s actually bigger than you expected, precum dripping from his tip. You can’t help but moan at the sight as your legs open on their own, almost like a reflex, exposing yourself to him again.
He laughs at your eagerness. “You don’t mind if I fuck you raw, do you, love?” you shake your head quickly.
“Please I need to feel you inside me” You whine, becoming desperate for him. He smirks at you as he climbs the bed, crawling on top of you, getting himself between your legs, dragging his cock across your wet folds, making you leave a moan as he brushes your clit.
He grabs your legs, pushing them up slightly as he holds himself up on top of you, guiding the tip to your hole, pushing it slightly.
Both of you moan, your back arched at the feeling and your eyes closed. But they shoot open when you feel George wrapping one of his hands around your throat, adding a light pressure “that’s right babygirl” he whispers “keep your eyes open for me”.
Then he begins pushing in, your walls squeezing him as you struggle to keep your eyes open, gasping.
He mumbles a “fuck” and keeps pushing in, hand squeezing your throat slightly.
“Oh George…” you whine when he bottoms out, him fully inside you.
The feeling is just amazing. The stretch of his dick and the feeling of his hand around your throat sends you into a state of bliss, making you struggle to keep your eyes open.
George is not much better, his eyes are also closed as he refrains himself not to start pounding into you like some kind of animal, wanting to give you a second to adjust to his size before fucking you fully.
His eyes are open when he hears you mutter a little “please”. And he looks at your face as you stare up at him, begging him to move and fuck you.
He doesn’t waste a second, pulling out of you before sliding back in.
You both moan at the same time and he begins pushing in and out of your cunt, picking up his pace.
Your eyes roll to the back of your head, and your hands come to grab his wrist as he continues to choke you, slowing your breathing in the most delightful way.
The coil is back on your stomach, this time faster than before. The feeling of his cock pushing against your walls is just as good as you had imagined, maybe even better.
You stare up at him as he pounds into you, his pace picking up as your eyes catch his. He slides the hand that was at your throat down your body until it reaches your clit, rubbing it.
“Open your mouth” he suddenly says. You can’t help but be confused, not really understanding why you should open your mouth, but you do it anyway. You watch as he spits in your mouth. “Swallow it”. You do it immediately, your pussy squeezing as he lets out a “good girl” after.
He lets out another moan before pulling out of you.
You whine at the emptiness, hands going to his arms before he’s grabbing you and flipping you over onto your stomach, grabbing your hips and pitching them up, hips in the air and face buried in the pillows.
George grabs onto your ass, kneading it before leaning down and biting you, spanking you after you let a little moan. “You’re just the perfect girl for me”. You hear him mutter before his hands go to your hips and he starts pushing his cock into you again, making you moan happily.
Now he goes pounding into you, pace fast and rough as he fucks you into the bed.
His cock glides in and out of you, the occasional smack on your ass as you moan out.
You feel so close to coming. “Harder George please!”, you call out, painting and gripping onto the sheets tight as his trusts get harder.
He grabs your hair, pulling until you’re leaning up on your knees, your back to his chest, hitting deeper with each thrust. You moan together, and you turn your face to his, your lips connecting in a sloppy but passionate kiss. Your hand cradles his head, the other grabbing his side, as he continues to fuck up into you.
You feel the coil tighten and tighten, bringing you closer to relief. And as if he had read your mind, George’s hand comes to your clit, making you cum all over him.
You moan loudly, body trembling as he continues to fuck you, your hand pullin his hair tightly, even louder when you feel the heat of his cum fill you as he comes inside of you, his own moans mixing with yours as he connects your lips again.
You keep kissing as you come down from your highs. Breaths steadying when you pull away from each other.
You stare into his eyes as he stares into yours, the both of you panting. A smile makes its way into your lips, one forming in his no long after. One of his hands comes to cradle the back of your head, pulling you into him to kiss you again.
He then slowly pulls his cock out of your pussy, making you whine at the feeling, already missing him. He gives you a short peck and helps you lay down on the bed before pulling away from you entirely.
“I’ll come back in a moment, love” he says. You nod and close your eyes as you feel the exhaustion creepin into you.
You don’t even know how long it went until George gets back. You feel him spread your legs a little before a wet cloth is cleaning away the cum that pools your pussy. You half open your eyes and watch him, a dizzy smile on your face at his caring actions.
He glances at you when he’s done, climbing back into bed next to you.
He pulls you into him, pulling you to rest onto his chest. You wrap your arm around him, squeezing harder when you hear his heart beating faster.
You feel him lean down and press a kiss to your head, sighing in contentment at the moment.
After what could have been hours but were just a few minutes settling after your littler encounter, you pull away from him a little bit, leaning up as you look at him, him looking back at you. A small smile rests on his face, and you lean forward to press a kiss to his lips, humming with joy as his lips press back.
When you pull away you look back at him.
It’s now or never.
“Would you go on a date with me?” you ask him, anxiety crippling.
He can’t help but laugh at your question.
“I’d love to go on a date with you”.

pairings: gunil x virgin fem!reader
genre: smut wc: 4k
summary: your brother decides to invite his best friend who studies abroad over for christmas - the one that ruined your 19th birthday, and has gotten only hotter since you last saw each other
contains: sub!reader, virgin!reader, brother’s best friend trope, enemies to lovers trope, banter, nipple play (f!rec), oral sex (f!rec), pet names, praise kink, gunil acts like a sneaky perv a little, dirty talk, sex toys (use of vibrator)
You pull your brother into the bathroom, making sure no one has seen or followed you. The pure terror that glows in your eyes pierce right through his own, as you lean back on the door not letting him escape.
“What is he doing here?”
“What, you can invite your friend over for Christmas, but I can’t?” He raises a brow suspiciously.
“My friend is not a rude, inconsiderate asshole that goes through people’s stuff behind their back!”
“Are you still not over that shit? It was a joke.”
He attempts to push you away, but you do your best to stay still.
“He embarrassed me in front of all my friends! On my birthday!”
“Jesus Christ, I’m surprised you still have any friends left.”
“You should’ve at least told me he was coming!” You shout in a whisper, while your brother’s already pushing the door handle, only rolling his eyes at you.
“Hey,” Gunil follows your body movements, as you take your seat.
He sat next to you. Of course.
“Long time no see.”
“You’re back,” you’re just able to note through a crooked smile.
“Yeah, you don’t seem very excited about it.”
“I’m… surprised.”
“And even more beautiful than the last time I saw you.“
Although giving constant compliments to girls is a pretty known fact for your brother’s best friend, this still catches you off guard, and you feel your insides twist.
“Don’t even mention that day.”
“Why not?” His surprise almost feels sincere, forcing you turn to him.
As you remember the contours of his face, that still feel so familiar even after four years, you realise your memory is wrong. The last time you saw each other was actually when you went with your brother to drop him off at the airport for his second semester at university. You were successfully blocking out this day from your mind, as it was spent in you soaking your pillows with tears till you fell asleep. After that you decided to stop tagging along.
“You turned my nineteenth birthday into a total nightmare, remember?” You try to play it off, not expecting him to catch a thing.
“That wasn’t the last time I saw you though.” His lips slid up for a slight moment, but fall down quickly.
“Maybe it’s not, but it’s the one that’s engraved in my brain forever.”
“We made a pretty fun show, don’t you think?” He grins, turning half of his body at you.
“What are you talking about over there?” Your brother asks from across the table.
You look at Gunil challengelly giving him the opportunity to answer.
“I was just asking her about…” His lips slid upwards, as you shoot him a more warning look. ”How’s uni going.”
“Booooring.” Your brother whistles, piling his plate with food.
“I would be more than happy to drop out of the conversation, so please continue with whatever topic you like.”
“Me and your brother talk every day, but you on the other hand…” Gunil stops mid sentence, looking in another direction for a change. “You haven’t called or texted me once since I left the country.”
With eyes down in your still empty plate, because your appetite was long gone, you pray for your brother to speak up, and change the subject. But just at that exact moment you watch how one of your cousins decides to pull him by the sleeve, stealing his attention.
It starts to weigh heavy on you - the realisation that you’ll always have feelings for him. Your first crush, that started as a silly innocent possibility, but grew to be something out of control, that he’d never take seriously.
You’ll forever be his friend’s silly sister that’s so fun to mess around in hours of boredom.
“Aren’t you gonna ask how long I’m staying?” Gunil plays with his glass cup in one hand, deciding that maybe it’s time to change the direction of your poor conversation. “Your room hasn’t changed at all. Still very… pink.”
“You were in my room?!”
“Can you blame me?” He leans back in his chair, locking eyes with you. “It’s been years since I last saw you. I want to know what’s new.”
“Yes, I can blame you actually for a lot of things.”
“Such as?” His brow raises provocatively. “Wait, I know… for being too fucking handsome.”
“Oh, please just…” You turn around, trying to ignore him.
“Your neighbour told me I had a glow up.”
You scoff, pretending you just heard the biggest lie in your life.
“Got a boyfriend?”
“None of your business.”
“So still a virgin?”
Your fork falls down from your grip loudly. When did you even pick it up to hold it so intensely?
“For god’s sake… You haven’t changed at all, huh?” You glare at him and seeing his amusement makes you even more pissed. You continue your tirade, trying to speak as quietly as you can. “Still the same pervert who read my diary for fun in front of everyone. You disgust me.”
You take a sip of water, as your throat becomes dry in seconds. A sudden touch on top of your thigh makes you almost spit it out.
“Is this the only thing I make you feel?” Gunil leans close to your ear, so you’re the only one that hears him. “Are you not forgetting something?”
His fingers squeeze playfully when he catches you looking down in your lap. You immediately return your attention to the table, secretly looking around in case someone is watching. What is he thinking?
“I’m sure I’m not.” You try your best to sound cool and collected, but fail at it miserably.
You expect to hear another joke about one of the many passages you dedicated to him in your old diary, but he only removes his palm in silence.
It makes you regret for not doing it earlier yourself, but you couldn’t find a way to move a bone.
“I left you a present,” he speaks out after clearing his throat. “Thats why I was up in your room.”
“Why didn’t you just leave it under the tree like normal people do?”
“Cause it’s just for your eyes only.”
What kind of a sick joke does he have for you now?
You feel your chest and face flaming hot, as you excuse yourself.
“I have to go to the bathroom.”
Gunil watches you leaving the dinner table barely hiding his satisfied smirk.
He finds your small figure sitting on the big bed, and softly lit by the yellow string lights hanging from your window.
When you look at his direction your face looks scandalized.
“What is this?” You hold back to urge to cuss at him, as you close the box. You can’t look at this in his presence.
“Do you like it?”
“I can’t believe you’re still mocking me.”
“I’m not mocking you,” his brows shift in a confused gaze. “This is what you wanted and I got it for you. We both know you’re too scared to do it yourself.”
“Well, you’re wrong, I don’t want it and I never did. Thank you for thinking of me though.”
Still at the same spot in the middle of the bed, you reach at him with one hand, waiting to get rid of the pink box as quickly as possible.
“I doubt those small fingers do the job.” He says bluntly, not missing a single flinch of your stunned face.
Your eyes widen, as your cheeks begin to burn. His audacity to come here and entertain himself by making fun of you leaves you speechless.
“I know it’s probably a shock to you, but I go out with boys,” you speak the words slowly one after another, so they can slide in clearly in his brain. ”I’m actually currently seeing one, so this… you can return it or gift it to some of your hook ups. I’m sure you have many to choose from.” You force a smile.
Gunil chuckles, processing everything you just told him, before speaking in a more suggestive tone.
“Who is he?”
“Just… a guy I share a few classes with,” you reply, avoiding his gaze.
“Is he any good?”
You shake your head, feeling almost exhausted from his attitude. Just when you think it can’t get any worse he spits out another question.
“How many times has he made you cum so far?” You blink at him rapidly in disbelief, while he steps closer, sitting at the edge of the bed.
He doesn’t need to look at you to know you’re making this up.
“H-he is… good.” you stutter, thinking of a response. “That’s all I’m going to say, cause anything else is none of your business.”
He grins, feeling your flustered gaze roaming all over his back. Your voice began to tremble, leading him to think that you’re either seeing someone you’ve done nothing with yet, or you’re not seeing anyone at all.
“There’s no need to lie to me, sweetheart.” Gunil turns to fixate his eyes on your flushed cheeks. Your skin is warmly colored from the fairy lights, but he could still see that you’re blushing. “Do you want me to show you how to use it?” He rests on his side, crossing fingers in anticipation, but you just roll your eyes, dismissing him.
Before you have time to react his hands remove the lid of the box, letting everything fall down on the mattress. The pink toy appears where you did not want to see it the most - between you and Gunil.
Blood rises to your face once again, as you watch his fingers wrap around the handle, pressing a button. You almost jump when you hear its sound. The fear of someone passing by your room and hearing it causes you to instantly steal the vibrator from him, but his grip is stronger.
“Relax,” he cackles at your startled expression. “It’s not that loud, see? People think about those things.” His eyes quickly glance at your hand on top of his. The fact it took you some time to pull it away even after he silenced the toy felt like a little reward to him.
“You didn’t give me an answer.” Gunil runs his heavy palm over your knee.
Your lips part, as you want to say something, but you’ve run out of words the moment he came to lay beside you. You really don’t want to just stay silent and so obviously embarrassed - it’s humiliating how every little thing he does has such a big and vivid effect on you. But the only thing you could do right now is go number under his touch.
“I-I…” You stutter under your breath. The higher his hand goes, the harder it becomes to pretend. You want this. You want him. You’ve always had. “Yes… you can show me.”
“Show you what?”
He chuckles when you look away frightened at the thought of having to say the full sentence.
You watch him moving the box and the wrapping paper aside not expecting him to come on top of you straight away. The weight of his body falls on top of yours, as his mouth instantly finds your neck. The texture of his tongue burns your skin, leaving warm and wet traces up to your ear, causing goosebumps. Before you realise, your fingers are lost in his soft hair, pulling him closer.
“You took so long to answer, sweetheart, I forgot what my question was.” His lips follow along the line of your jaw, moving to your parted mouth. “You have to refresh my memory before I go any further.”
His hot breath sticks all over you, as he speaks through his signature cocky smile.
“I want you t-to teach me… how to use it.”
“Why are you so shy?” He swipes his tongue along your bottom lip. “I’ve read your little fantasies about me there’s nothing to hide anymore.”
You’ve always wondered what Gunil’s mouth feels like. You’ve written in your diary all of the possibble ways he kisses so many times you’ve lost count. However, this doesn’t come close to any of them. He is gentle and rough; erotic and soft at the same time. The way he guides your lips radiates confidence and lust you’ve never felt before from any of the few guys you’ve been on dates with.
He takes your chin with his thumb and index finger, so he can make you open your lips wider for his tongue. The astonishing feeling of your tongues meeting makes your spine arch, begging to feel more of his body as possible.
He doesn’t break the kiss while the fingers of his right hand swiftly unbutton your cardigan.
You put a cardigan tonight, because you hated wearing bras at home, but if you had even the slightest idea that something like this was going to happen, you would’ve worn one - a pretty one that would match your panties. You gasp for air when he breaks the kiss for the first time so he can take a look of what was underneath it.
“Is this what you wear at home every day?” He asks and you swoon over how deep and intense his voice has become.
“Pretty much, yeah,” you breath out, as he keeps staring at your thin revealing top. One strip is hanging loose from your shoulder, while your nipples are poking lightly through the fabric.
He takes one boob in his hand and goes over its nipple with his thumb. The slow circles around it turn into a squeeze when he attaches his mouth against yours for a long wet kiss which he takes down your neckline.
Your lips part in awe from being suddenly struck with lost for words from how aroused you feel already.
Unconsciosly you humm in bliss when he runs his tongue over your top. Sucking harshly on your breast, he forces your sensitive nipple to perk up, which he takes as a sign to put even more pressure through more licks and bites, soaking the fabric with his spit. You grip on the cushion, as he holds your boob and quickly circles the tip of his tongue around the clothed bud.
The cute squirming of your body forces his cock to twitch eagerly every second.
“You’re so sensitive, princess,” he whispers, letting his spit drop down over your nipple before taking it between his lips again. A long muffled groan escapes his throat when you grab a handful of his hair, as he still holds it between his teeth. “Feel like you can cum just from having your nipples sucked.” He pinches the bud and you whimper, feeling the rush of it coloring your face.
Gunil pulls back to take off your pants, tossing them to the floor. He smirks approvingly when you sit up to remove your cardigan.
“Good girl.”
His hand caresses your cheek, sliding down your shoulder, before pulling away to find the vibrator.
When you hear the toy turning on, your body tenses again from the overwhelming excitement and nerves clouding up your mind. The buzzing sound fills the thick air, as the head moves towards your intimate place, making your heartbeat race. You won’t be surprised if he could hear that too.
You instantly respond to the unfamiliar thrill the moment it sneaks through your panties. The sensation lands on your clit, shooting waves of pleasure, as Gunil holds the vibrator steady in one place. The sudden contact makes you gasp vocally while clenching your tummy.
“Mmmm,” Gunil wets his lips at the pretty view of your bare plush thighs spread apart for him. The sight of your expressions changing rapidly from how good you feel turns him on even more. “Feels nice, doesn’t it?” He leaves it over your clit for a while, waiting for the feeling to take you over. His fingertips are travelling on your left inner thigh, scratching and wishing they could feel more of you already.
You shut your eyes only humming in agreement. As the vibrations sink into your pussy your legs begin to slightly move around from excitement, your toes rubbing against the fabric of Gunil’s pants. You can feel yourself get wetter from how your underwear is now sticking to your folds, and your hole is starting to clench. It feels warm, energising, and like nothing you’ve ever felt from playing alone with your fingers.
Gunil removes the vibrator without saying a word and that makes you yap from surprise, but also from desperation. You swallow down the urge to plead to put it back exactly where it was, but that doesn’t seem to matter much when he grins at your hazy eyes and pouting mouth.
“What, do you start to like your new toy?”
You rub your thighs together cause you couldn’t stand the high temperature down there anymore.
Gunil catches that in time, immediately seperating them again.
“P-please…” you mutter, going over your panties with your hand, hoping it’s going to make him put the toy back sooner.
“Fuck, you’re so gorgeous.” He pushes your thighs towards your chest, as you’re still in a sitting position just holding yourself on your palms. “Show me your tits, princess.”
You pull the straps of your top down your shoulders, leaving it around your stomach to expose your breasts for him.
He cusses quietly under his breath, placing back the vibrator on your clit, but this time pressing harder.
“O-oh… G-Gunil…” You moan towards the ceiling, as the rush floods back through your body, but ten times harder.
“You’ll learn to love it even more, sweetheart.” He says, while slowly moving the vibrations in circles, stealing even more delicate sounds from you. Watching you chew your lips almost violently in attempts to keep your pretty voice down grows his erection, making it difficult to keep it in his pants.
He brings the vibrator down to your wet hole, then brings it up again, leaving it to sit on the sensitive place. Meanwhile, the fingers of his other hand grips your leg, so his lips can travel freely on it. He starts placing wet hungry kisses all over your skin, unable to resist you.
You throw your head back with your face all scrunched up from the ecstatic delight. Every time Gunil shifts the vibrating head a scream creeps up in your throat from how amazing it feels, but you fight it back. As you tug on the sheets for support, you begin rolling your hips against the toy, reaching for your peak. That instantly pulls his attention away from your leg.
“Fuck, you’re so hot, Y/N…” He groans, running his hand over your lower abdomen, imagining the way his dick would touch your cervix. “Wanna give you my cock so fuckin’ bad, you’ll take it so well, sweetheart..”
“G-Gunil, I…” You fall on your back, as you feel like breaking down any second now.
“Princess… need you to cum for me…” Gunil pants, holding your thighs apart.
As if his words were a charm, the second they sank into your mind, your figure begins to shake, forcing him to get a hold of you in a way the vibrations won’t escape your clit.
“Yeah, baby, let it out. Good girl.”
Your hands fly to cover your mouth, but as the orgasm gradually fades out, you hide your burning face too. You can hear Gunil’s chuckles, teasing you for not being able to comprehend what just happened.
He provokes you to peek through your fingers by kissing around your bellybutton just so he can reach lower, biting on the waistband of your underwear. The sudden slap of the fabric against your skin after he drops it from between his teeth makes you flinch.
“Fuck, what do we have here?” He grins amused after he settles between your thighs.
You could feel his warm breaths coming at your leaking pussy. Subtle, yet so effective in waking up a new wave of arousal in your body, that maybe just never went away. Instead it just keeps growing stronger.
“You’ve made a big mess, princess.”
Feeling his index finger slide down between your lips, pressing into your tiny hole has you break a whimper.
“Gunil, I…” You stutter around your words, still regaining control of your breathing. “I’ve never done it before.” It would’ve took you a lot longer to admit it if you had to look at him, so you stay with your eyes squeezed shut.
“I know, sweetheart.” You sense a smile that doesn’t have the usual perky ring to it. It actually feels comforting. “It’s okay. I’ll teach you everything you need to know.”
He sucks the soaked patch of your panties into his mouth, savouring the sweet taste. The muscled tip of his tongue sends a strong rush through your core after it moves between your folds.
How is it possible to feel so intense even through the fabric?
“I’m afraid we have to return downstairs soon. People will start looking for us.”
You look at his hair, that was so neat and put together when he got here, and now is a mess; his eyelids dropping heavy like he’s intoxicated; how are you supposed to leave the room pretending like nothing has changed?
Your chest that just calmed down minutes ago begins to rise quicker again, as his palm rubs you gently while he speaks.
“I want to give you my cock nice and slow when it’s only the two of us, sweetheart.”
You shiver, but your body burns from his voice, as if you’re having a fever. Chilly air brushes at your entrance when he pulls your panties aside, exposing the view he’s been craving.
“I want to listen to your pretty moans…” his sentence stops from the way he concentrates on sliding a finger through your tight dripping hole. He sighs from relieving pleasure when it goes in, and continues his thought. “How they rise higher and higher as I fuck your silly brains out.”
Your head rises up to see his mouth going into your cunt, making its first laps at your slickness. The sudden contact makes your bones tremble, and your eyes roll back at your skull. When he suddenly moves his head left to right, teasing your clit with his tongue, you let out a deep groan, that you realised was dangerously loud way too late.
You hiss at the stimulating combination he creates between fingering and swiftly playing with your clit. His tongue caresses the nerves with strong forceful moves that at one point make you shift your hips up for even more friction.
“Ahh, s’good…”
His lips suck loudly on your clit one last time while looking into your eyes. His attractiveness in that small moment almost blurs your vision.
“Princess, you have no idea how sweet you taste…” He spreads your pussy nicely with both hands, giving it a nice look as if he wants to memorise every little detail about it. “Just like candy,” he adds, feeling his erection throbbing painfully at your tiny cunt pulsing from cute sensitivity; from needing to be filled up; needing to be stretched out.
You don’t even realise until you hear it, but the vibrator is back into his hand.
“Here, try it yourself now.”
When you take it from him without saying a word, Gunil quickly moves you in another position with ease. He guides your hand that’s holding the buzzing toy between your legs, as you’re standing on your knees. He presses your head into the mattress, then lifts your butt up in the air.
“Good girl, you look so pretty spread out like this for me.” He strokes your spine, your hair, your ass cheeks, while his hips push his huge boner into your behind. “F-fuck…” he pants, as you start to whimper in sync with his thrusts. “This is how I’ll fuck you, baby… This is how I’ll ruin that sweet pussy of yours.”
He teases your clenched hole, as you already struggle enough to hold the vibrations on your clit from being close to orgasm again. You repress your noises into the sheets when two of his fingers manage to insert your tight entrance. Slowly, but steadily they begin to stretch it out, massaging your gummy walls.
“Let me strech you out a little, sweetheart. You cannot fit even half of me in there.”
Your thighs begin to jiggle from not only the sensations that go through your core, but now from his curled up fingertips too, while the rest of your body moves back and forth from his lower body humping you.
The feeling of his rough clothed bulge pressing into your flesh makes something inside your chest flutter. He moves exactly how he would if he was gliding his dick in and out of you. Airy moans escape his mouth, echoing into your mind, as the sound of them is one of the most hypnotising sounds you’ve ever heard. You wish you could see this intimate, but filthy image of him using you as if you’re a pillow, but you can’t.
“Damn, princess.. so fuckin’ tight around me, fuck…” He cusses behind your shoulder, forcing you to melt on the mattress with his groans. “You barely let me move, baby.”
His sounds alone can make you come undone, and with the strong buzzing coating your pussy, it doesn’t take you long to whine his name over and over again.
His wrist begins to slam into your ass, as you squeeze his fingers tightly, soaking them with so much moisture.
“Cum on my fingers like the good girl you are for me, princess, come on…”
You suffocate from digging your face into the sheets, meanwhile your legs gradually collapse with your toes curled from pleasure. After you roll over on your back, feeling completely washed out, Gunil cannot resist. He spreads the sticky wetness all over your skin, watching it glisten everywhere under the yellow lights coming from the window. He swipes one finger once between your messy lips, chuckling at your legs instantly closing.
You both stay in silence for a while. If the noise of every single person of your family over talking the others counts as silence.
“So…” You whisper, glancing at him. “How long are you staying?”

Hi love,hope you’re having a beautiful day.
I feel very much at home whenever I’m reading anything you write.guess that’s what lead me into asking you this question.I’ve been struggling with socializing quite a lot.it’s my second year in uni and I haven’t managed to make any friends.I was just thinking how you got through your uni days and did you struggle as well. Please ignore this if you feel uncomfortable talking about the subject.
Hi darling anon!! I had a really lovely day, I hope you did too!!
I'd like to start this answer off a few different ways, and I'm not sure which is best. I'm glad this feels like a safe space for you to talk about some things that may be really sensitive, and I'm sorry you're going through such a struggle. It's hard feeling like there are milestones or expectations you're meant to hit but "missing" them, and it's even harder when you don't exactly know what you've done wrong.
This ask made me reflect on my own time in college. I went to a school on the other side of the country where I didn't know anyone, so I felt immensely stressed about finding "my people" -- especially since I came from an inseparably tight friend group back home.
And, for most of college, I didn't feel like I managed that.
I had friends in the sense that I had people to like... wave to on campus, maybe people I would passively text to hang out, but I didn't have many who understood me deeply. A feeling that lingered a lot during those days was that I was somehow doing college incorrectly -- that I was wasting the years where people built forever friendships.
I was lucky in the sense that I had one phenomenal friend I made as a fluke (we met during orientation and ended up being neighbors in the dorms), but I think a lot about what I would have done if I didn't have her.
I wish I was able to give you some advice here beyond the generic "join clubs!", "find a study group!", "talk to people in your classes!". But I never really solved this problem myself. However, reflecting on my university years now (as someone 5+ years out of university), it would be this:
Sometimes you have to push someone from being a classmate to a friend, a coworker to a friend, an acquaintance to a friend. Sometimes it doesn't happen naturally. You have to be brave and ask someone to get coffee after class, even if you've never talked to them one on one before. And sometimes that won't result in anything -- sometimes they won't click with you. But that's ok.
I look back at college Liquid and wish that they were brave enough to get dinner with the coworkers that they liked. Those coworkers stayed coworkers, but maybe we could have been more if I had been willing to endure the embarrassment of being seen trying.
#sorry this is more of a ramble than anything#There were a lot of nuances as to why I felt little socially mixed in college (one of them being that I'm neither a partier nor a drinker)#and idk if this is even advice but like#free yourself from the looming feeling of time passing you by. Ur so young and you have a lifetime full of new environments and ppl to come#Sending you a big big hug anon#ask me :)

Day 4 - Prompt: Evoke @pandalilymicrofics
February Daily Series - 963 words
<<<Previous Part OR Start Here
Lily eyed the four blokes blocking her way suspiciously. This impasse started about ten minutes ago and three aisles over with Remus distracting her from reshelving the returns with a long-winded story about a pair of “lost ships.” He clearly thought that it was the perfect allegory for missed opportunities, but it sounded particularly absurd to hear from his lips.
Then, Sirius appeared from nowhere and steered the conversation toward social media stalkers, which was apparently a little too on the nose for Remus. When she’d finally slipped past them, James stopped her in the next aisle to ask if she was attending the Yule Festival tonight, and when she said “yes,” he proceeded to incorporate her into their collective plans. Lily managed to duck into the last aisle and reshelve the remaining four biographies in her hands, only to find all four of them blocking her exit afterwards.
“What‘s this then?” she demanded, propping her hands on her hips. “I haven’t seen you here in weeks,” Lily pointed out to Remus before eyeing Sirius and James, “and the two of you are rarely indoors for more than twenty minutes.”
She gestured vaguely at the small stack of books in Regulus’s hand. “He’s the only one who seems to know what a bookshop’s purpose is.”
“I don’t know why they’re here, but I wasn’t going to turn down a chance to buy books,” Regulus admitted with a shrug. He glanced between Sirius and Remus curiously. “Why are you here?”
“We,” Sirius said, gesturing between himself and Remus, “are here to visit with Lily. Since I’m only in town for a few more days, I thought it would be nice to spend some time together. Evoke a little friendly comradery.”
James nodded avidly, which wasn’t at all suspicious. “Right, and I’m here to buy Regulus books for the ride home. I just figured you might want to join all of us tonight.”
“All of you? And how many is that meant to be?” she checked.
“My parents, Sirius, Remus, Regulus, me, Peter, and Pandora,” James replied, ticking the names off of his fingers. “Yeah, I think that’s it.”
Lily frowned as she went through the list internally. “So, is that four couples? And me?”
“Oh, no! Pandora is my flatmate from London, and she’s coming to meet James,” Regulus assured her. “I haven’t even met Peter yet.”
“He’s a friend from uni,” Sirius replied quickly. A little too quickly.
“Remus? What’s going on here?”
Remus rubbed the back of his neck and grimaced. “A coincidence?”
“If you say so.” Lily flailed her hands at the blockade until Regulus ducked behind James and Remus stepped out of her way. “I have work to do. Can whatever you’re plotting wait until tonight?”
“So, you will join us?” James asked, rocking on his heels like a small child.
“I’ll be at the festival. If I run into the lot of you, so be it, but I’m not committing to wasting my whole night following you idiots around,” she said, rolling her eyes at Sirius’s scoff. Spinning on her heel, she glared at Remus pointedly. “If I find out you’re trying to set me up again, and I will find out, you will not like the consequences, Remus John Lupin.”
“Definitely not,” he agreed.
Sirius looked gobsmacked. “John? Remus John?”
Lily strode away with her head held high and her arms swinging at her sides. She was confident in two things after that confrontation: Remus wouldn’t dare attempt to replicate the Gideon and Fabian incident from uni and the combination of James and Sirius was asking for trouble. As if she didn’t already know those two were as brilliant as they were foolish. She just wished that they didn’t drag Remus into their nonsense.
And me. Leave me out of this. Whatever “this” is.
She busied herself straightening the display tables out front until the quartet of chaos left. The last thing she needed was to be caught up in one of their “incidents.” The Potters may be dear friends of Mr. Lupin, but their son and his friends set off her red flag alarm. Individually, they were fine, but together? Pure chaos.
“Lily? Phone call for you!” Alice called, waving from the back office.
She waved back as she reached for the handset at the register. “Thank you, Alice!”
“Hello, this is Lily, can I help you?”
A long silence followed. It wasn’t one of those creepers that breathe into the receiver, or even the empty mechanical silence of a telemarketer who hadn’t connected yet. This was…shy.
Lily toyed with the old, misshapen cord that connected the phone to the wall. Mr. Lupin refused to replace it with a cordless or headset because he was afraid they’d lose it. The man could be such a dinosaur for only being fifty-five.
“Hello?”
“Oh, sorry. I wasn’t expecting…I mean, you caught me off-guard, that’s all.” The voice was both timid and defensive, but slowly lifting in volume.
“Alright, what can I do for you?” she repeated, keeping her tone as professional as possible.
“I was looking for a book about…never mind, you probably don’t have it.”
The call ended abruptly and left Lily staring at the archaic device in confusion. It stung a little to be dismissed so quickly, which was stupid. She hung up the phone and shook her head clear.
Leave it. Just a weird one, that’s all.
Except it nagged at the back of her mind the rest of the day. The woman’s voice was strong, but she’d rambled as though her thoughts were scattered on the floor and puzzling them together was too much effort. The hang-up was likely from her own embarrassment for being caught daydreaming, and yet…she couldn’t help wondering who she was.

This took a bit but I hope it succinctly explains my feelings on this matter.
Without further ado-
Let's discuss Kazui
He's such a lady killer, isn't that right~
Though he's also finding the time to kill the truth as well.
I'm not saying this is the woman at the bar. However, I am in a very impolite way asking where the fuck did the woman at the bar go? We never see her eyes in Half and this woman didn't have a face there. That is notably odd.
A woman that didn't have a face before has a face now and the woman who had one in his first video is nowhere to be seen. That's just odd.
We see Kazui doing some of his favorite pastimes during cat. Drinking and smoking.
Portal Timeline
20/06/11
Mikoto: Kazu-san, do you have any hobbies? I kinda want to get into something that’s a bit more mature. The sort of thing I could still be doing 10 years from now.
Kazui: Ahh, hobbies, huh. I wonder…… Hm, I guess trawling? I have a friend with a boat, so we went out on it a lot. Other than that, I guess when I go out drinking sometimes I play darts…… On that note, do you drink?
Mikoto: Ahh, I’ve tried darts before too. Drinking, huh. I guess I can probably hold my alcohol a bit better than the average person. Back when I was a uni student I drank a lot. But…… you look like you drink a lot too, Kazu-san.
Kazui: ……can you tell? That’s probably my biggest hobby of all of them. I like drinking anything. Beer, wine, shōchū, the lot.
21/08/05 (Kazui’s Birthday)
Kazui: Oh, Shina-chan? How scandalous, coming to a man’s room in the middle of the night like this. Well, not that it’s really a room, just a cell. ……just kidding, since you brought some drinks with you, I’m assuming you’ve come to wish me a happy birthday, right? Thank you.
Mahiru: Yep! Happy birthday Kazui-san~ Clap clap clap! But as well as that~ ……I also just maybe wanted to use it as an excuse so I could ask you for some advice over drinks, I suppose?
Kazui: Advice, huh. Well, you’re more than welcome, but I don’t really know what advice an old man like me could give you. I haven’t got the first clue about what love is like for a young girl nowadays.
Mahiru: Ahaha…… Don’t worry, much as I’d love to talk about that too, um…… er, Kazui-san. You know, recently I’ve been having the same dream every day. Lots of people were denying my actions…..Denying my thoughts…… that sort of dream.
Yet, for some reason in Cat,
"Phew, oh wow I’m drunk- Hey, so what if I said I liked-liked you, what would you do?"
He presents himself as having a low alcohol tolerance using being drunk as a convenient excuse for his confession in case it goes poorly.
We later see that when with his wife they've both downed half a bottle of champagne, a beverage that ranges between 11.6% alcohol to 12%. Whiskey what he's drinking at the bar ranges from 40% to 50% if it's apple whiskey like implied then it clocks out at 35% alcohol at the least.
Shōchū one of the alcohols he mentions by name ranges from 25% to 37% alcohol. So, tripping up over one glass of whiskey that isn't even finished is noticeably odd for him considering his previous statements.
However, considering his posture and staggering in the middle of the mv he does seem to have had a rough night.
Possibly drinking more than he usually does for one reason or another. However, I don't believe he was that drunk when he asked that question. I think he just drunk more after whoever he asked gave their answer.
It's also kind of odd that the bartender and possibly the girl from the bar both seem to be attending Kazui's wedding.
I'm not so certain about the girl at the bar because she just doesn't have a face here, but I wouldn't be certain even if she did as we never see her eyes just her face in Half. The guy in the middle on the other hand definitely looks like the person we see behind the bar in Half.
20/08/05 (Kazui’s Birthday)
Haruka: ……Kazui-san…… um…… Are you, happy…… on your birthday……?
Kazui: Hm? If I’m being honest, at this age I don’t really think much about birthdays any more. But…… it can be nice to have as a means to start something. Like, for a friend you haven’t seen in a long while, it’s a good excuse to suddenly start up a conversation, you know? Being able to hear from a bunch of people like that makes it fun.
Haruka: I-is that, so…… That’s… nice…… I’m, kind of… jealous.
But, I’d also, want to hear from people…… e-even if, there isn’t a reason……
Kazui: Haha, but it can’t always be like that. You know, for us adults…… we always want a reason or an excuse for everything. ……hm? Wait, is today my birthday? So is that why you went out of your way to talk to me yourself for once, Haruka?
"There was a widow who, at her husband's funeral, fell in love with his colleague. She killed her son the very same night. Why? She'd see that man again at her son's funeral." - Caligula Effect Overdose Sun Temple Riddle and Answer.
If someone could use a funeral for that sort of thing who's to say another person couldn't use a wedding.
"I just wanted to ask, so it’s out in the open. I just got a little greedy." "I realize the futility, but I still can't help but dream."
We see a green apple roll beneath Kazui's foot before getting a glimpse of a familiar visage. Now with an apple adorning their head instead of a mask.
As the divide between truth and lies grows thinner.
"All those things I wanna do that I can’t say out loud I gotta keep it inside and act."
We see him become less and less capable of sustaining the act he's been putting on up until-
It snaps.
"Let’s take a breather; Love (plus) Destiny = Crap, smash it, shatter it, bye-bye. To be caressed by you, that would be perfection."
"I wanted to be loved, just like a cat. Maybe act capricious, on my word and at my fancy."
Man admits he wants to be for the streets and gets judged for it.
I want a relationship like a cat's- I want to be able to leave and come home whenever. Be a bit capricious- Change my mind and mood whenever at my own discretion. Try a little bit of everything eat birds on the street, chase red dots, push glasses off tables, be the predator instead of the prey!
Because-
"It's better to be a let down than be let down."
Is it so wrong to want something casual to come back home to?
To just want to-
For appearance sake.
"So, it’s wrong? Oh, shove that! INNOCENT, isn’t that right?"
To want to avoid getting greedy and complicating things with unnecessary honesty.
Imposter Boulevard Trial 2 Voice Drama
"Isn’t it unusual to openly reveal a personal dislike as a personal dislike?"
-Later-
"You said I was unfaithful – in other words, that I cheated or committed adultery of some kind."
"Yeah. That’s what I deduced from your footage."
"It’s not true. It didn’t even turn into infidelity. It didn’t turn into anything like that. For me… In my case, you see."
Cat
"Phew, oh wow I’m drunk- Hey, so what if I said I liked-liked you, what would you do? I just wanted to ask, so it’s out in the open. I just got a little greedy."
"The beating of this heart... see... it’s no longer about good and bad... it isn’t. I realize the futility, but I still can’t help but dream."
Being honest, telling the truth, speaking candidly, none of those things are about being viewed as good or bad. The only thing that's about is telling another person one's genuine beliefs and feelings.
It's right after this line the mask and gimmicks fall away, he takes off his ring and tells his wife "Let's take a breather."
An old-fashioned way of saying let's end things here whether it be for a bit or indefinitely.
Half
"All this time till now has hurt me, the scales of my heart has decided to sway. If continuing to hide is called unhappiness, not even one word will get to you."
Cat
"All those things I wanna do that I can’t say out loud I gotta keep it inside and act."
"I can’t stop, I can’t be normal. This feeling, it can’t be gratified. I can’t stop, I can’t be normal. This feeling, it’s yearning to be satisfied."
Finally saying those things left unspoken and literally dissolving their marriage.
Oh, then there's the more than casual lyrical similarities between Kazui's and Mahiru's songs.
"Since when have I ignored my feelings? It’s better to be a let down, than to be let down yourself. I just wanted to touch, to caress. I just wanted to be touched. So, it’s wrong? Oh, shove that! INNOCENT, isn’t that right? Maybe, perhaps... or... could it come true... like. It’s for the sake of true love, who wouldn’t lie for that?"
"This can’t go on, something’s got to give, I even love saying the words, “I love you” My emotions are out of control, that’s inconvenient? I don’t care! Tell me, oh tell me why, won’t you just accept me?" - "Mon-mon-monstrously in love in love. Mon-mon-monstrous, cuz I love you so much."
"Love (plus) Destiny = Crap, smash it, shatter it, bye-bye. That sticky-sweet sequence: Dinner + Camouflage + You-Know-What. Loving Affection (minus) Love, it’s tacky, this two-way deceit. Victim and Perpetrator, let’s keep it simple."
"Clothes Food Shelter + Love and Miss you. “See you next week?” sounding in cadence. The meaning of life while guilty, I can’t even breathe anymore. My lethal weapon: “This is how to be in love with you”. Clothes Food Shelter - Love and Miss you. This adorable, earnest, sincere ♥ Is bleeding, wailing, this is the end- What you trampled is my, “This is how to be in love with you”."
They're just two cheaters who people suspect were not directly involved with their victim's deaths. What's the matter with stating what one likes or dislikes in this situation? What makes one better than the other? It's simply perspective~
So, let's keep it simple and fair, alright?

‘Times, they be a changin’
After a drop off due to Golden Kamuy ending and my overall disappointment with the last arc. And of course, Ogata’s death, I’ve been wondering where I want to go with these things. I put a lot of GK content out and I don’t want to just shelve it but I don’t want to split myself between fifteen thousand side blogs. I’ve decided that I’ll keep my live action meta over on my ‘I don’t want to be exterminated, upgraded, turned into pudding’ side blog and I’ll keep all my anime and manga opinions here. Since I have been reading manga for a long time and watching anime for even slightly longer.
To reflect this, I’ve removed my last previous Ogata icon and I’ve jumped straight to God; Kuroneko-sama that is. It isn’t that I’ve stopped reading manga or watching anime either and I have just one of the many opinions on the internet.
Let’s go with an easy current on topic target for some mild-meta. Trigun.
Many moons ago, my best friend from undergrad introduced me to Trigun. She had a Vash poster in her dorm room in university that she picked up at Katsucon, which was the first con I ever went to with her. She’s quite the influence!
I watched all of the original Trigun anime on fan subbed VHS tapes that were passed around the anime black market of the 90s and early 2000s before they’d be bumped out of the way by file sharing services and online fansubs. Honestly, I can’t even remember when I first watched it, but I do remember crying at a character’s death and just rolling with some of the more hand wavy sci-fi elements.
Not surprisingly, as someone who loved Ogata as a character, my favorite character from Trigun was none other than Nicholas D. Wolfwood - wandering man of the cloth toting around his cross which is heavy b/c it is full of ‘mercy’.
How much of a Wolfwood fan was I? Enough of one that I paid likely waaayyy too much money in a dealer’s room at either Otakon or Katsucon for this capsule version of Wolfwood with Kuroneko-sama.
I used to have him up on my desk when I was in uni, but he always fell over and at some point, I popped him back into the bubble and shoved him under a bed at my parents’ house forgotten for over a decade or so. He moved to the desert (still in that capsule) and I just dug him out after moving to my current location along with two Ruroni Kenshin figures that are back in a box.
What is with this path down memory lane all about? I was at Anime Expo in 2022 (with exact same friend mentioned above) and we didn’t make it to the Trigun Stampede panel but, I did get an awesome photo of an amazing Vash cosplayer.
With the Trigun 2.0 on the horizon and the Sony merger stuff, all of the older anime titles that were on Funamation have moved back onto Crunchyroll - meaning a lot of titles I loved when I was younger could be rewatched.
And that’s what I did last month! I dusted off my little Kuroneko-sama and Wolfwood and sat down to watch Trigun for the first time in over 20 years, I think.
I was both surprised by what I remembered and what I did not remember. Plus, rewatching something you haven’t seen in years allows you to have a sort of fresh pair of eyes.
First off, for a manga that started in 1995 and had the anime in 1998, it has great female characters. Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson wear normal clothing, have professional careers and are packing heat in a wild west environment. These are the least sexy main character ladies! Milly wears a dress shirt, tie and pants with suspenders along with her long coat. Meryl wears boots, tights, skirt suit and then a cloak (with all her guns) as well.
Meryl is the older skeptic/pragmatist and Milly is naive yet if the most obvious thing is the best answer, then accept it as the truth. They are great characters and I love how they are a great perspective and point of view into the events. Sure, they are completely overpowered by Vash or Wolfwood, but they are neither a non-human-pseduo-angelic being or a man who had his entire body altered [manga] to be a better killer or just a much more on the job experience [anime] soooooo yeah. I’m okay with Meryl and Milly not having to hold their fighting prowess with the boys.
I finally decided to break down and read the manga. Little did I know that Darkhorse owns the current rights and the series is out of print. Gah, I was hoping to score the series cheap used but that will not be the case. I’ve read the original Trigun from the shounen mag that went belly up (3 tankobons, 1 volume via Darkhorse) and the moved into a seinen publisher for its continuation as Trigun Maximum. I went ahead and purchased all the way up to Trigun Maximum volume 5 and have read it all as well.
As someone who enjoyed the anime, I can appreciate the way the anime ended at the time. They were years away from the end of the manga’s run and the anime team needed to come up with a nice way to tie things up. Honestly, I’m fine with how things went in the anime. Well, other than Wolfwood’s death, which made me cry and still pulled at my heartstrings on the recent watch. So far the manga has more details, and is taking the time to fill in motivations of characters like the Gung Ho Guns (why would you willingly sell your humanity to destroy it?). It however, still keeps an air of mystery about Vash’s past and the exact reason why humans got stuck on the planet.
The two major differences I see between the anime and manga are as follows:
Anime Vash has that sort of 90s MC perv side being a ham towards women early on when it later has him questioning who’d love him anyways. Manga Vash doesn’t even go there which is something I like - dude’s got a lot more problems. No space for chasing skirts and hitting on ladies.
Life on the planet Gunsmoke is fucking terrible in the manga. You think it is pretty shitty in the anime? Pffftt, that’s nothing compared to the manga. People are worse, humanity is more like how Hobbes would view it and less like Locke. I honestly, don’t know all of the differences yet, since I’ve barely cracked the manga story line but it is clear it is only going to get darker. Yet at the same time there is more hope since the humans who’d kept themselves ‘above the fray’ were able to contact other people and they are supposed to possibly be rescued. If Knives doesn’t throw a giant bloody wrench in there.
In a way, these differences do reflect the shift that the anime gives us. We go from a goofy guy who is overly competent trying to bumble/drift through life and has biblical levels of trials/tests of his faith in his own belief system to come out with a resolution and faith in the future. You feel it when you get to around episode 13 and you realize that shit is gonna get serious and you can’t just go back to zany antics.
What I like about the anime is that we have a range of how characters act and view humanity. Vash will punish himself to not harm others as he sees it as the unalienable right that every living thing has the right to life and it isn’t right for you to take that away from anyone. Not sure how he resolves eating those salmon sandwiches with great vigor unless it is artificial salmon (desert planet out?). Milly is the extremely naive and optimistic, Meryl is sarcastically pragmatic. Of course Knives is the exact opposite of Vash, thinking humans are a scourge and no one is worth their own lives.
And in the middling grey area we have - Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Yep, is it shocking my favorite character straddles the moral grey line? Seeing that it is a rhetorical question, we all know that yes, I love my characters that move between different philosophical spaces. Is Wolfwood a good or bad character? It depends; the narrative and other relationships tell us in the anime that we should see him as more good than bad character. He is a friend to all children and uses it as a rationale why he has to do his job. Without him making money from being a traveling clergyman/gun for hire the children would not have financial support. However, we can see that the closer he gets to Vash the more conflicted he is and keeps verbalizing why he has no option but to kill; or else someone else would be killed.
What I like about him is that his observation skills are top notch. When he first meets Vash, he get straight to the point that Vash is wearing a mask in front of others. He’s trying to get by, not die, but has a lot of anger at the shitty hand he was dealt in life. It is the classic example of I had a crap childhood and ended up stuck in this less than ideal path but I want to protect others from it.
He’s one of those characters who really compliments Vash both visually and personality wise. Vash could never haggle down the price of anything but Wolfwood squeaks by talking his way out of pay full fare for the bus or trying to run a tab (as a drifter). Yet at the same time those two idiots are as thick as thieves getting in petty arguments over stupid shit and feeling resolved to deal with each other. I also like how he’s one of the few characters who pushes back at Vash’s need to take on extreme burdens and that sometimes you have to accept all your options are going to suck.
We are going to get in a stupid fight about how Wolfwood’s motorcycle broke down again. Which he named Angelica II. RIP Angelica I.
We just tossed our water bottle over!
And just this. Like sticking out your tongues at the same time will allow you to capture that last bit of water . . .
Does it end here? God no, it continues to the extent that man who saved them is ready to toss them off his truck.
The manga has a very similar visual dynamic between them. They are two guys with rough pasts and are navigating the present in very different ways.
Anyways, I’m still not sure where I exactly want to go with things, but a deep dive into Wolfwood (anime & manga) may be a worthwhile endeavor. I’ve got a ways to go in the manga and I’m not rushing through it or anything like that.
What I am worried about is the remake/reboot/re imagining of Trigun as Trigun Stampede.
I first watched the preview videos about it. I’m not here to argue if CGI is good or bad. What I do have an issue with is the general character designs - I get it, Trigun is a 90s manga/anime and it looks like a 90s series. I really like the Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, for me it has less to do with the character designs and for how the storytelling perspective is more people driven and less sterile/historical documentary style. I’ve read most of the novels and LOGH:DNT leans much more on the novels/format than the original epic long OVA. The creative team behind LOGH:DNT are really giving it their all.
But for Trigun Stampede the new character designs are seriously rubbing me the wrong way.
Vash: I get that Vash would be considered ‘best sad boi’ if the series were new, but the lack of spiked up hair is baffling to me. His prosthetic arm is obviously not of this world in origin/tech and it really kills the slow reveal of what it can do. Wearing a jacket with the Project Seeds logo on it - sure - most people on the planet aren’t the most educated about all that info. We also have the changing of his type of firearm, which any detail nerd is going to be up in arms about the switch from a long colt .45 to a .22 caliber revolver style handgun. I blame Ogata and his love of the Type 38 over the Type 30 rifle for sniping.
Meryl Stryfe: not only gets a tomboy look but a career change and a shit mentor/supervisor. Let’s give her a newsboy hat, shorts with her old suit coat and a large parka and random gloves with chunky sneakers. Oh and she’s the underling of a chain smoking whiskey drinking misogynistic asshole whose job is to treat her like shit and insult her. She neither looks nor acts like a young twenty something professional. In the anime and manga she’s just a petite woman. But episode one of stampede has me concerned.
Milly Thompson: does not exist? Information about this is vague at best and I’m not going to troll the internet for what the creative team may have told the Japanese press. Milly’s character design was top tier. Her character added great value to the anime and manga so far. She’s not on the promo artwork and Roberto De Niro is - which is a bad sign.
Nicholas D. Wolfwood: Looks like a hipster from Tokyo. And any other ikemen type of character. Or from a Jdrama. Really, he looks like if you took a fashionable guy off the street and threw him into the mix.
We see here, an unbuttoned jacket. His dress shirt is unbuttoned at the top, but also not tucked in. He’s got skinny/tapered pants and exposed ankles. And those black shoes that might be sneakers or loafers?
Now, you live on a desert planet my man. You know what absolutely sucks when you live in the desert? Getting sand and shit in your shoes! How do you do that? Don’t wear shoes that aren’t covered by your pants. I can forgive the lack of hats on the entire main cast b/c they are the main characters and we want to see their faces. But if they actually lived on a twin star planet, Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl and Milly would all be wearing hats; you want to keep that sun off your face and block a lot of the crap floating by. Honestly, that’s one design element which is spot for the characters except for the lack of hats - the long sleeves and layers. You wear layers and long sleeves and pants when you live in the desert to protect yourself from the elements.
Sadly, not only does his wardrobe suffer from the ‘upgrade’ but his hair as well as a lollipop instead of his hallmark crumpled cigarette. Smoking kills but Wolfwood is going to die young anyways so do you think he cares that much?
His hair is tamed down the long locks in front of his ears are gone and I’m guessing his nose will be shrunk as well. My most recent watch had me appreciate a few elements of his character design. First off, he’s got a rather ‘normal’ looking nose that doesn’t make that weird point. I like this it gave him a more unique appearance without doing too much. We can also see the long shaggy bit of hair as well as the much messier overall look.
Looking at him more closely, it really seems as though he had a sort of almost retro (for the 90s) 70s look with a scruffy chin. That sort of makes sense since he was designed in the 90s, his style might refer back to the previous 20 or so years for his overall look.
I am a huge fan of the added rough around the edges look with the lines on his cheeks which are more pronounced in the manga.
I also visually read this to be an indication of age. Which in the anime, I read him to be the oldest human of the bunch, over thirty. His observational skills, the way he talks to others, how he rationalizes things at least in the anime. Wolfwood has seen more of life and some of his solid statements really make me think this. I haven’t gotten to his whole backstory in the manga yet which from what I’ve seen - is vastly different than that with him being much younger but appearing older. Which is why he gets the scruffy/blushy lines all the time? Maybe? I’ll get back to this. However, this point doesn’t sit well with me since some types of wisdom require one to reach a certain age to get them so I’m not keen on the concept for appears old but is much younger Wolfwood. But I’ll see how it plays out in the manga before judging it.
I’m not the type of person to get my knickers in a twist over logical updates to characters and their design but the creative team for Stampede went hard.
Honestly, I already found a much more professional review that really highlights a lot of the issues I had with episode 1. The reviewer never saw the original and still highlights a lot of the things someone who’d watched it before would or could be bothered by.

This article completely captures why I hate Roberto De Niro and why if he dies as a character I will be happy. But not happy enough without Milly!
Anyhoo, I’ll give Trigun Stampede the college try, but they are going to have to work very hard to convince me it is a worthy remake. If only to see Roberto De Niro to die and try not to ask Tanigaki why he’s toting around Punisher - which is a heavy cross b/c it is full of mercy.

xiaolumi: sharing a mattress on a chilly night
happy valentines day !!summary: xiao invites lumine to join his team during a gamejam* since their previous artist dropped out last minute. some poor organisational skills lead to some great cuddles. tags: modern AU, uni AU, gamejam, gamedev!xiao x artist!lumine
* a gamejam, to put it simply, is a game-making marathon during which the participants focus solely on making a game. the criteria for the game depend on the jam and usually change up every time
feel free to drop by and say hello to me on twitter! this ficlet is also posted there. :]
this is Lumines first GameJam, and, to be completely honest, she’s here only for Xiao. he asked to join last minute since his team's original artist dropped out a few days before the event, and she agreed. after all, even if she doesn’t enjoy making a game, she will always enjoy her best friend's company, and some new experience comes as a bonus, too.
the first day went surprisingly great – everyone was very nice, Lumine befriended an artist from another group during a lunch break, her own team has a wonderful game idea that she’s very excited about, and she got to see Xiao working on something he’s passionate about. they do study together, but never has she seen his eyes sparkle the way they did when they talked about their game. sure, his face seemed neutral, but after being friends with him since they both were in diapers, she can see that little smile whenever he gets his hands on something he enjoys.
all’s well on the game-developing side of things, however, in their haste, they forgot to figure out the sleeping arrangements, so the team ended up with one less mattress than needed. Xiao, being the way he is, offered up his own to her the moment he realised his mistake, but Lumine is not letting that boy sleep on the floor and get a cold, or maybe not even sleep at all. they all will get their beauty sleep, one way or another.
– what if you two just share? i don’t believe you haven’t shared a bed before in all the years you’ve known each other! – and, honestly, Venti was absolutely right, they have shared before, even if it was quite a while ago.
the thought of sleeping together (literally, get your head out of the gutter!) with Xiao isn’t making Lumine uncomfortable, and the guy seems to be okay with that as well, so that’s what they decide on – squeezing together on the same mattress, under the same blanket. she wasn’t able to talk Xiao out of giving her his pillow, but it’s okay. at least he’ll sleep.
but, oh, the room was actually quite chilly, and Lumine was always prone to freezing even in relatively warm temperatures. as much as she tries not to shiver, lest she troubles Xiao, he knows. Xiao has learned to read Lumine just as well as she’s at reading him, if not better for the fact she is far less reserved than the boy.
– Lumine.
she almost yelps, getting jumpscared by Xiao’s half-whisper, hot breath right on her ear. when she turns to him, lying on her back now, with Xiao partly hovering over her, propped on one elbow, Lumine can’t help but blush.
her best friend is extremely attractive.
– yeah?
– you’re shivering. are you cold?
– sorry, i just, i didn’t think it would be that cold…
Xiao sighs, though, not unkindly. he’s quite used to her shenanigans, even allowing himself a small smile that he hides in the dark of the room. – come here?
– where? – she doesn’t get what he means at first, but when he lays on his side and opens his arms up, basically non-verbally inviting her to cuddle with him, she can’t help but ask. – are you sure?
– i don’t want you to catch a cold because of my poor management skills. – Lumine could swear she can see him pouting, but there are no light sources, and she can’t tell for sure. – just let's warm you up, okay?
Lumine hesitates only for a few moments, before moving closer to the boy, just as he puts his arm under her head for a pillow, and holds her close, just a little above her waist. – comfy?
and, to be quite honest, yes, she is very comfy. and so-so warm.
she lets him know that much. the only reply she gets from him is a quiet snort.
they lay in silence for a while, in a few minutes Lumine is all warmed up and cozy, slowly drifting to sleep, sleepily nuzzling into Xiao’s chest. – thank you, Xiao.
– it’s nothing. rest up now, we have a lot to do when we wake up.
– good night, Xiao.
– sleep well.
the kiss on her hair that followed was probably just her imagination.

October 15, 2019: How was it with Patrick? How’s your grandmother doing?
(previous play)
You can find more information about the authors, translators, content warning and additional information about the plays in the pinned post on our blog.
Tuesday, 8:17 pm:
David: ~has met up with Patrick after uni and they went to eat and drink something~ ~they really had a nice conversation and eventually he noticed that he really felt like there never had been a break in contact between them~ ~never would have thought that they would find back to a normal and usual relationship with each other that quickly~ ~of course they also talked about the time in which they had no contact with each other and he told him a lot about his new group of friends and his two holidays~ ~eventually he gets on his way back to the flatshare, after all - not because he doesn’t want to be there anymore, but because he’s been awake since 6:30 am, had a long day at uni and because he can feel that he’s pretty spent - and also because he misses Matteo, who he hasn’t seen since 7:30 this morning and who he hasn’t really talked to all day, because Matteo was still half asleep when he had to leave the house~ ~so he cycles back to Moabit and hurries up the steps to the flatshare~ ~unlocks the apartment door and first sees that everything’s quiet in the kitchen and the living room, therefore takes off his shoes and jacket in the hallway and immediately goes to Matteo’s and his room~ ~sees Matteo on the bed half sitting half lying against the wall at the headboard and has to smile automatically~ Hey… ~finds it incredible that his heart still does a little jump when they haven’t seen each other for a while~ ~throws his backpack in a corner while he closes the door and joins Matteo on the bed~ ~kisses him briefly but tenderly and then immediately puts his head down on his shoulder and wraps his arm around him~ ~buries his face in the crook of Matteo’s neck and takes a deep breath~ ~murmurs quietly~ I have to recharge my batteries…
Matteo: ~arrived back home at a quarter to 7 as always~ ~knew that David wasn’t there but still found it stupid to arrive to an empty flatshare~ ~didn’t feel like cooking and only made himself a sandwich~ ~retreated to his bed with the sandwich and his phone and called his grandmother~ ~has talked to her for a little longer than usual and managed to waste some time doing so~ ~then tried a new game on his phone and waited for David this way~ ~then finally hears the apartment door and can immediately feel this anticipatory tingling when he recognizes his steps~ ~smiles immediately when he comes in~ Hey, na? ~immediately holds his arms out for him~ ~wraps one arm around him straight away when he joins him on the bed~ ~kisses him back and grumbles slightly when the kiss is too short for his tastes~ ~squeezes him a little closer when he hears his words~ Me too…. ~presses a kiss to his head~ How was it with Patrick?
David: ~thinks once again that it really feels like home when he’s back with Matteo when Matteo squeezes close~ ~can feel himself relax and feels content immediately~ ~grumbles quietly at Matteo’s question and murmurs into the crook of his neck~ Nice… ~but then thinks that Matteo wants a little more detail, presses a tender kiss to the skin on his neck and then emerges again~ ~puts his head down comfortably on his shoulder and tells him~ We were in this pub in Charlottenburg… it was quite cozy… and somehow… no idea… it was almost like it used to be. When I think about it then it really is a little scary how quickly we got back to that point considering how long we didn’t have any contact… but somehow it’s also really nice… so familiar somehow… ~slightly shrugs one shoulder and searches for Matteo’s hand to entwine their fingers~
Matteo: ~grumbles contentedly when he kisses him again~ ~but then slowly turns his head a little so that he can look at him~ ~nods slightly when he talks and then smiles~ But that’s nice… that only shows that the connection is still there… that’s great. I’m happy for you. ~squeezes his hand and then presses another kiss to his cheek~ And Patrick really is pretty cool, very easygoing, I can see very well why he was your best friend…
David: ~moves a tiny bit away from him when he realizes that Matteo wants to look at him, and returns his look~ ~also smiles slightly at Matteo’s words and nods~ Yes, that’s really great… ~laughs quietly~ But somehow also weird and creepy… ~shrugs one shoulder again~ Well, but I shouldn’t complain and instead be happy, that’s true… ~then smiles again at Matteo’s next word and nods~ I think to some extent, it’ll stay that way… well, also if now there’s Alex and the rest of the guys… but I’ve just known Patrick for forever… that’s somehow different… ~slightly squeezes Matteo’s hand and adds~ By the way, he told me to say hi… and to ask you if you wanted to test some game that’s supposed to be released next year… I forgot what it’s called… maybe you could just text him over the next few days…
Matteo: ~also laughs slightly~ Yes, that’s true… you weren’t really expecting it anymore… ~smiles slightly~ But therefore it’s even better that you dared to do it and that it was worth it so much. ~then looks surprised when he says that to some extent, Patrick will stay his best friend~ ~somehow wasn’t expecting it~ ~has a weird mix of feelings that he can’t really sort properly~ Oh really? I wouldn’t have thought so… but yes, of course, you’ve known each other the longest… ~then tries to define again why it feels so weird for him~ ~but then gets interrupted when he hears David’s next words~ Really? How cool! Which one? Man, Schreibner, why can’t you remember? ~briefly has the urge to reach for his phone, but would have to let go of David to do so, and doesn’t want that, either~ I’ll text him later…
David: ~briefly frowns when he realizes that Matteo is really surprised at his words, and tries to explain~ Well, it’s somehow… not better or worse than Alex but just different… you can have several best friends, can’t you!? I mean… you’re my best friend, as well… in addition to being my boyfriend… although you count very differently… and with Patrick it’s just a feeling from the past where I don’t yet know if it’ll stay like that in the future… but right now it feels like it… and Alex… well, I think that it’ll stay the way it is between us… but it doesn’t really matter anyway how you define it, right? ~then has to laugh when he sees Matteo’s reaction to the computer game~ Yeah sorry! Next time I’ll immediately text you about such fundamental life-changing things to inform you properly… although, you don’t really have time at the moment to play anyways… for the next few nights and weekends we’ll be busy with searching for an apartment… ~looks at him curiously~ Speaking of: How’s your grandmother? Did you tell her?
Matteo: ~laughs slightly when David explains and justifies himself~ Yes of course you can have several best friends. It wasn’t meant as an attack or anything… I was just surprised. And by the way, you’re also my best /friend/ and my best /boyfriend/. ~grins slightly~ ~was just about to kiss him when he hears him make fun~ Pfff, /when/ I test it, then YOU are not allowed to play if you only make fun of me. ~but then nods when he says that they don’t have time~ Yes, true, by the way, during lunch I called this one apartment that you sent me, but they didn’t answer the phone whenever I tried… ~but then grins when he asks about his grandmother~ She’s doing great, I’m supposed to say hi to you and yes, I told her. She laughed very hard and asked if I’m doing it to prove something to her. I also laughed and said that I actually make some decisions without thinking about her… she was briefly affronted, but then she was too curious, after all. She was a little disappointed that I couldn’t tell her much more… but then I’ll hopefully be able to tell her more next week or the week after that.
David: ~smiles when Matteo admits that he’s also his best friend and squeezes his hand slightly~ ~can’t really define thins thing with Patrick and Alex himself, but then thinks that maybe he doesn’t even have to~ ~then has to laugh when Matteo says that he isn’t allowed to play~ Hopefully I’ll live… ~tenderly brushes the hair off his forehead and gets a little more serious again~ No… I’m happy if you have fun with such stuff… ~hears his words about the apartment and sighs quietly~ Okay, thanks… then I’ll try there again tomorrow… ~listens when he talks about his grandmother and smiles at first~ ~but then has to laugh quietly, after all~ That would be something… if we only did it to prove something to her… definitely tell her hi back from me next Tuesday. I really hope that you can tell her more by then… ~lets go of his hand and instead wraps his arm around him again and scoots closer~ ~murmurs a little sluggishly~ Maybe I’ll also be there next Tuesday and can listen along a little… since I understand more, it's a lot more exciting to listen to you guys… ~grins slightly~
Matteo: ~pffs slightly when he says that he’ll live~ You don’t even appreciate it… ~but then laughs slightly, after all~ ~nods when he tells him to say hi back~ I’ll tell her… ~then also wraps an arm around him again and scoots down a little~ Oh yes, she also asked about that and I proudly told her that you’re very busy with learning Italian and that you already learned quite a lot. She was really happy about that… ~grins~ Maybe next year you can already have a conversation with her.
David: ~grins broadly~ Of course I appreciate it! But I also know that you would let me play if I wouldn’t survive it… ~kisses him and shuts him up this way to finally put a stop to that topic~ ~then smiles when Matteo tells him that his grandmother asked about him and smiles even more when Matteo tells him what he told her so proudly~ ~then laughs quietly~ Well… /a lot/… I somehow get ahead… probably I’d really have to speak it more instead of only reading and studying it… but I don’t know if your grandmother would be the right conversational partner… ~grins~ I mean… considering how fast and much she talks… I surely wouldn’t be able to keep up…
Matteo: ~grins when he gets a kiss and when that obviously ends the topic~ Yeees, you have learnt a lot! ~then laughs~ No, I wouldn’t pick my grandmother as a practice subject, either… maybe better Mama or me… and sometimes you already text me in Italian… ~shrugs one shoulder~ But if you want to, then we can only talk in Italian from now on. ~grins a little, because he does consider this a little awkward, after all~
David: ~laughs~ You have to say that because you’re my boyfriend and so that I’ll stay motivated… ~presses a kiss to his throat because he can’t reach any other spot right now and because he’s too lazy to stretch~ ~murmurs~ Still thanks… ~hummms~ Yes, but texting isn’t the same… I have enough time to think about it… and to look stuff up if I don’t know something… ~then smiles at his suggestion~ ~thinks that this would probably really be a good exercise - at least sometimes every once in a while~ ~but then stretches a little and says~ Meglio domani. Sono troppo stanco oggi… ~cuddles back into Matteo after his stretch~ I think that this would really be of benefit… you’d probably learn everyday words more easily… or idioms… stuff that Duolingo doesn’t teach you…
Matteo: ~laughs~ I don’t /have/ to do anything… ~also humms~ Yes, okay, that’s true… ~then grins when he really speaks Italian~ Ma per essere stanchi, è stato molto bello. ~also wraps his other arm around David when he cuddles close again~ Yes, we could really do that sometime… so just start and then I’ll join in… ~then looks down to him~ Did you eat anything with Patrick?
David: ~smiles when Matteo praises him and murmurs quietly and a little embarrassed~ Grazie… ~then also humms in agreement~ I will… tomorrow or sometime… ~then humms again~ Yes… fries and Currywurst… was quite good… ~tenderly strokes over Matteo’s stomach and then looks up at him~ And you?
Matteo: ~grins slightly~ Prego. ~humms when he mentions fries and Currywurst~ Yeah, I made myself a sandwich… didn’t feel like cooking… ~puts his head down on David’s~ And now? We could put on Friends to chill out? Or do you still have to do work for uni?
David: ~nods when Matteo mentions a sandwich and murmurs sluggishly~ Tomorrow, we’ll cook again properly… ~humms at his words about Friends and then groans quietly and a little agonized~ I still have to read a text… but I can also do that while Friends is on… ~but still doesn’t move for quite a while and instead enjoys being close to Matteo~ ~eventually they start kissing, but then he pulls himself together, after all, when they are finished to get his laptop to put on Friends and his backpack for the uni stuff~ ~luckily, is finished with the text quickly and can then enjoy the rest of the evening together with Matteo~

so i like i a girl (i think)
well i used to have a big crush on her about a year ago but i think my fear of rejection and commitment is the only thing that’s stopping me from asking her out.
okay so about a year or two ago, i had a big crush on this girl in my college. we have so much in common and we talked all the time. and then during the end of my first year, i asked her out (not like a romantic/date kinda of thing, just as friends going out ykiwm?). so we went to the cinema and then we walked about until we both went our separate ways to go home and then i immediately lost feelings for her. not as in i hated her or anything, i could never she’s always been so sweet to me but i just didn’t feel that romantic interest in her anymore. that’s until i spoke to her recently.
time skip to the present (so two years later from the event above) she’s working full time and i’ve moved to a different college to prep for uni next year. for some reason i had missed her so much and i have no idea why. these feelings came back outta nowhere and then i ended up inviting her to see the fnaf movie with me and omg it was so good to see her again it’s literally been MONTHS since we’ve talked or seen each other face to face. um anyways, i like her again.
btw (if it wasn’t obvious) i haven’t confessed to her at all (bc i’m a coward). i was so close to saying something at the cinema but i didn’t (again, bc i’m a coward). but i feel bad. i feel like i’m leading her on or toying with her feelings. i don’t want to see mom like i’m wasting her time, i just wasn’t ready at first. dgmw i could wait and see what the future holds but i doubt i’m gonna find another person like her. (i’m so sorry this got so long 💀)
tl;dr
i got a big fat crush on this girl and i am fighting back demons to not confess my feelings to her because i lost interest in her a few years ago but those feelings came back recently when i met up with her after so long and i don’t want to seem like a piece of shit
OKKAAAAY THERES A LOT TO UNPACK HERE !!.!:!:8 😦😦
UHM okay first of all EEEEK ik . . . love is hard & (romantic) feelings are hard to fully understand too. it’s much more complicated / complex than ppl think — like it’s described in ur msg to a certain degree. but tbh.,,,
theres this saying that goes ‘absence makes the heart grow fonder’ which is actually perfect for your situation LOL i think the fact that you have realised your feelings for that girl after you spent a long time apart & met up again, says a lot. u speak very highly about her so there definitely must be some kind of feelings involved too
i would say: take time and figure it out before anything else. keep contact with her if yu can, don’t hint or do anything that you’re unsure of or could possibly lead her on when you aren’t sure about your own feelings abt her yet. bcs what if your feelings go from romantic to platonic again? yk it happens LOL figuring out what you precisely see someone as is stressful but yea it has to be done to prevent unnecessary painful consequences
thoooo if you ARE 100% sureeee of your big crush for her, then i will also advice you to take your time & dont rush into anything. i dont think you’ll lose contact any time soon (since you had a 2 year break before) so dont worry abt that. confess if you feel like the time is right / whenever you feel comfortable doing it — no forcing urself to!!!!!!!
u wont seem like a piece of shit if you figure your own feelings out first . keep it at friends until you do! then its all goooood . GL BBY U CAN DO THIS >_< tis nerve wracking but if u take enough time to reflect, im sure everything will work out smoooothly

Flufftober 2022 Drabbles Ch.13 Secret Family Recipe
[Sorry if this is not very good. I haven't written much since the last update apart from essays for uni. My head spent most this chapter screaming at me that I couldn't use joined words I needed to separate them all out *hides face*.]
Grey’s Anatomy Meredith Grey x Addison Montgomery
Chapter 13 Secret Family Recipe
It was well known that Meredith didn’t cook, well more couldn’t cook so wouldn’t cook. However, Addison coming from the background she had grown up in had been shown how to cook from a young age. So when Meredith had taken ill with the flu and couldn’t get out of bed. Addison knew that she had just the right thing for it. She remembered being shown how to make chicken soup and bread from scratch. It wasn’t very often that she would take the time to cook. Especially as she never really had the time to cook and every minute spent off work she just wanted to spend curled up with her girlfriend. But knowing that Meredith really needed something right now she thought better of getting back into bed with the younger woman. Instead choosing to go downstairs to cook.
Wandering into the kitchen Addison looked into all the cupboards, hoping to find the ingredients she needed. As expected for two women who tended to order takeout she didn’t find what she wanted. Looking back towards the stairs Addison hesitated before grabbing her bag and shoes. Debating with herself over whether she wanted to go and wake Meredith to let her know she was heading to the shops or whether to let the woman continue to sleep. Knowing that sleep was one of the best healers for a cold, Addison chose to leave Meredith sleeping. Quietly grabbing her bag and shoes, checking to make sure her purse and keys were inside she stepped outside of the house towards her car. It took Addison around twenty minutes to get everything she needed. Stepping back inside the house she stopped listening to hear if there was any movement within the house from the blonde. Hearing nothing she continued back to the kitchen to unpack the shopping bags and start cooking.
Pouring the soup into a bowl whilst she waited for the bread to finish cooking she looked around the kitchen for a tray to place everything on. Finding one under the sink she placed everything she had so far onto the tray. A glass of orange juice, the bowl of soup and a spoon, as well as the chocolate she had brought. Feeling her phone buzz in her pocket to say the bread was ready to come out the oven, Addison turned and quickly went to the oven. Pulling out the fresh loaf of bread she had made. Leaving it on top of the counter to cool, she filled a hot water bottle before going back to cut a couple of slices of bread. Placing everything but the hot water bottle on the tray, instead choosing to tuck it under her arm before heading towards the stairs. Carefully climbing them one by one and shuffling towards their bedroom in the hopes not to spill anything. Nudging the door open with her foot, followed by her hip she noticed Meredith curled around her pillow - hidden mostly by the blanket. Addison walked in slowly and carefully placed the tray down on the dressing table before sitting down on the edge of the bed next to Meredith’s snoring body. Gently stroking her fingers through Meredith’s hair she started whispering her name in the hopes of calmly waking her up rather than frightening her out of her sleep. Meredith mumbled, turning further into Addison’s pillow. Addison smiled watching her whilst continuing to stroke her hair. “It’s time to wake up now, my love”. Meredith blinked sleepily up at Addison before coughing curling into herself. Addison felt guilty for waking up the blonde seen as she seemed so peaceful in sleep. Unlike now.
Standing back up and walking to the dresser to retrieve everything Addison turned back to see Meredith leaning back against the headboard. Walking back to the bed Addison gently rested the tray on Meredith’s lap. Meredith looked down surprised before taking the spoon and taking a sip of the soup. Moaning in delight at the taste of it. “Where did you get this from?” Meredith watched as Addison flushed.
“I..er..I may have made it for you” Meredith tried not to laugh at the embarrassed look on Addison’s face as she knew that the redhead would be offended. She also knew that laughing would set off her coughing, and she really didn’t want to spill any of the soup.
“Yes, I understand that. But what brand is this? I don’t think I’ve ever had it before” Meredith continued to eat more of the soup. Before realizing she bread next to the bowl was obviously homemade.
“No, Meredith. I made this for you” Addison watched Meredith’s reactions to the food with interest.
“Oh God” Meredith moaned again “you’ve got to give me this recipe Addison. It tastes so good, thank you”
Addison smiled in return at Meredith’s reactions. “I can’t Mer…it’s a family secret” Addison couldn’t resist the giggle at the look on Meredith’s face.
“Well…you’ll just have to keep making it for me then” Meredith smirked before ripping a piece of the bread off dipping it into the soup. “Oh the bread is good too…Addie you’ve been holding out on me.”
Addison couldn’t help the belly laugh that came out of her at that response. “I should have known the quickest way to your heart was through your stomach”.

I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for this blog. I am not really a fan of Jensen or Jared, but I loved the first 5 seasons when it was new and it accompanied me throughout my high school/ uni years. I stopped watching after that and haven’t seen a single episode since then, but in the last few months, I’ve rewatched S1-5. And this somehow made me interested in JA’s life and personality. I’ve read the very beginning of your blog and now the latest post and I feel you are deeply hurt because he is disappointed in him and deeply worried because you love him. I will continue to read all of your posts past and forthcoming because of you. Maybe the SPN brought me here but I will stay because of you. Your answers are articulate, insightful, intelligent and often based on and backed up with psychology, which I love.
Even though I do not really like him as an actor ( he is indifferent to me) I feel his pain and my heart aches if he is truly in marriage with a narcissist. He is not blameless in this situation but no one deserves to be in an abusive relationship. Maybe he is a f*ckboy who would never be in a steady, committed relationship anyway but I truly doubt that. I think he could be a better man, a better actor, and a better father to his already existing kids with a real-life partner. And this is not impossible even if they start their relationship extramarital. Exactly this is what happened to Paul Neman ( divorced in 1958 remarried in the same year they had been together for 50 years until he died ) Gregory Peck ( divorced in 1953 remarried in the same year, had been together until he died in 2003), Johnny Cash (divorced in 1966 remarried 2 years later, had been together until June’s death in 2003. He died after her a few months later). And this is what happened to my grandparents. My grandfather's first wife was a narcissist and had some other issues. He and my grannie started extramarital and had been together for almost 50 years until his death.
I just want to say never give up hope for love. Start with loving yourself and hopefully your true partner will come into your life. This is something that I would say to him and everyone living in a similar situation. Big hug to everyone.
I am so glad your grandfather found a loving relationship despite all the hurt he went theough previously. Thank you for sharing that story, it's an endlessly beautiful message and I fully agree. It's never too late to find true harmony. Ultimately, people reflect back our own energy and we can only love others to the degree we love ourselves. Unconditional love not narcissistic love.
Let's hope Jensen will find his way back into harmony with himself and attract a better partner. I wish that for everyone, to be surrounded by people who deeply love and love has so many forms.
As for your words about me, I am deeply humbled, honored and moved. I think what you perceive in me is what you are: harmonious and loving. Your ask supports my theory. 🧡 Thank you for being an angel. The world needs more people like you which is I hope you know how endlessly valuable you are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this message.

[SPOILERS FOR INTERVIEWS WITH MONSTER GIRLS]
*WARNING*: If you haven’t read Volume 6, 7 and/or 8, it’s best if you don’t read this review.
All good?
With that out of the way, I would like to spell out my thoughts regarding the chapters within Volume 6, 7 and 8:
- I didn’t expect Takahashi to be the younger bro. Quite surprising really. Need to learn more about Takahashi tho 😞
- His niece is apparently a uni student yet Takahashi is in his early 30s, flashback even go as far to reveal that it’s implied that Yoko was born when Takahashi was around middle school-high school meaning that his older bro could’ve been twice of Takahashi's age or something like that.
- We got complicated science stuff regarding dimensions and whatnot but honestly I just want to learn a little more about Takahashi.
- Which we did for what tidbits we learn such as that back during his middle school-high school days, he was moderately build and that along the lines, he started working out because of wanting to be seen as approachable to the students.
- Oh and he is in his early 30’s.
- For the demis, we see Sakie having quite a bit of bonding with Kurtz and it gives me fuzzies cause I want to see those two interact more (yes don’t judge me I’m weak for the intergenerational friendship trope)
- For Hikari, we get to see that she is affected by the succubus power and moments with Hikari in the manga/anime can never go wrong.
- Yuki's resolve of wanting to be a teacher because of the many people she has met and Sakie giving Yuki a speech on how it should be the latter’s destiny is just SO GODDAMN POWERFUL & HEARTWARMING! I literally almost cry in the inside because of this scene.
- Machi. Holy moly. It was one emotional moment for her because of how bittersweet it is. We get to see her confess her crush to Takahashi due to Kaoru (I’ll get to her later) persuading that she should be upfront has a tense kind of feeling. Takahashi didn’t know how to respond to it and after a talk from Sakie about it (despite viewing her one sided subtle rivalry with Machi), he decided to tell Machi about how he feels. We don’t see a full convo on who it went but just a bunch of panels of Machi moving her head (meaning it’s private) and after Takahashi confesses that he likes Sakie, we then cut to the scene where Machi tearfully told Hikari and Yuki about what happened and we see all three girls hugging out and crying together. Kaoru feels a little guilty about this and apologize to Machi about what happened but instead of being angry, the dullahan told Kaoru it’s fine and the latter joined the hug out.
- This got long but I’ll keep this short. The way Machi's school crush was handled was excellent as it didn’t resulted in a badly-handled drama where it made characters OOC nor did it result in a pointless love triangle between two teachers and a student (thank the goddess it never happened).
- That being said, it didn’t mean it’s the end of the world for Machi as she had other things going on for her like studying to be a researcher and her friendship with Hikari and Yuki. In a way I’m thankful for Petos on handling Machi's character as a whole and that for her, romance isn’t an end all be all since if you focus on other things, it can lead to a happy ending such as how other characters noted that Machi has steeled her resolve.
- Onto Kaoru, a demi from Okinawa, who is based on a tree spirit that reads mind. I think she is an awesome addition and while we may not see much of her in later chapters, I think it’s nice that she is the catalyst for making Machi realize her feelings for Takahashi and trying her best to not let the dullahan down. Also her friendship with the main Demi girls rock as well. Oh and don’t forget the dimension moment she has it’s quite funny even if it lasted for a few panels or so.
- We also get to see Machi’s family as well. We learn from both parents that ever since they found out their daughter is a dullahan, they tried that very best to support her in any way they can and are grateful for both Hikari and Yuki's friendship with Machi.
All in all, even though I skipped the later volumes, I get a feeling that Vol 9, 10 and 11 (if I can get my hands on them) would be great and I want to see how the final chapter goes as well.
