You know when you’re feeling pretty good, but technically it was or is a bad day?

I’m feeling good, I’m not angry or sad, but today has kind of sucked (and will suck more)

For the past few weeks I’ve been getting over a (mostly annoying) sickness, and I finally got better. I got sick again, but now it’s a fever and I’m too cold to leave my bed (it’s also a beautiful day and I was hoping on enjoying the outdoors bc I’ve been stuck in classes for 15 hours a day all week).

About a month ago, my cousin had a baby, but I haven’t been able too meet him yet because we didn’t want to risk getting him sick. I WOULD HAVE been able to meet him tonight at the family SuperBowl party, but I CANT BECAUSE IM SICK.

Said cousin is married to a man from Ukraine who was living in America for school when the war started. He managed to bring his mother, sister, and niece around the start of it. (This was three years ago btw) a few months later the sister WENT BACK TO THE WARZONE (WITH HER DAUGHTER) because she MISSED HER BOYFRIEND (who no one likes and everyone thinks he’s bad for her) and lost both their green cards in the process.

After 3 years (last September) we finally managed to get them back to the US. She is may favorite kid in the whole world. I’ve been trying to learn bits of Ukrainian so I can talk to her a little more, but we usually just figure it out with body language. We draw together at family dinners. She’s been working really hard in school and I’m excited to see her grow up.

She and her mom left for Ukraine today to see her boyfriend again. I never got to say goodbye, and I’ll probably never see her again. It was already super lucky to get them back without their green cards, and we won’t be able to do it again. A few weeks before they came back, they had been at a playground ten minutes before it got bombed. She might die there.

I take back my later statement, after typing all this I’m crying.
