People who don't know dog body language who have pushy sketchy dogs are so awful to be around. I told our housemates that their dog Klaus doesn't like me when we went out to watch the eclipse earlier today because I didn't want to go in the fenced yard with him out and they were like "oh no he's fine don't worry." When he saw me he charged up to the fence, high flagged tail, snorting and barking and jumping at the fence and they still were like "oh he's friendly, he just wants to smell you, see his tail is wagging". Like my dude... tail wagging does not mean friendly, and what about the noises he's making rn sounds friendly to you?
Selene's sister grabbed him and I thought she was going to take him inside because she acted like she was going to, but instead she stopped halfway and just held him back while I came into the yard and then let him go to run up and sniff me, which he had very stiff body language the entire time he did so. For a while after that he ignored me because of the kids calling him away and was chill, but still kept coming over and sniffing me occasionally and was very tense each time so I just tried to stay calm and sweet talk him and didn't try to touch him to help defuse the situation.
Then I walked a little away from the group to point out a plant in the yard to Selene's mom which was a mistake because once I was out of the little circle we were standing in he started body blocking me, tense face, stiff body, whale eyeing, and then jumping at me and barking. They tried to call him away and were like "oh he's just trying to get you to play, sorry he's so demanding of attention." I started trying to walk toward the gate to leave because he very much was NOT trying to get me to play and I did not feel confident in their ability to control him, and he immediately did it again. And again they tried to call him away. And I got maybe another two steps before he turned right back around and did it again. And they called him away again saying he was just trying to play. Rinse and repeat for a total of like six times of him body blocking me, tense and whale eyeing, and then jumping at me and barking. All while they're just laughing like "Sorry, Klaus just really loves playing". Dudes your dog is actually behaving aggressively toward me right now, please get control over him so I can leave he is NOT TRYING TO PLAY WITH ME.
This is the second time I've been invited into the yard while Klaus was out and the first time they kept telling me the same thing but he was actually following me around growling at me then and they were still like "oh it's just cuz he doesn't know you yet, he'll warm up to you, he's friendly". YOUR DOG IS SKETCHY. I DONT WANT TO INTERACT WITH HIM. HE DOESN'T LIKE ME. PLEASE JUST PUT HIM INSIDE WHEN I'M IN THE YARD WITH Y'ALL. And PLEASE learn some dog body language because nothing about his right now says "friendly" at all!!!!! Not even a little!!!! TAIL WAGGING DOES NOT MEAN FRIENDLY, ESPECIALLY A HIGH FLAGGED TAIL.
#i will not be going back into the yard while he is out#i only did this time because they made it seem like they were going to put him inside#but then didn't#i do not trust that dog#and they are oblivious and just laughing while he is actively menacing me#cant tell them shit about it though because they act like we're criticizing their parenting if we do and get offended#and then be like 'well your dogs are out of control so what do you know' because my dogs bark at strangers#like... okay your dog growls at and menaces strangers???? mine just bark at strangers who talk to them and try to rile them up#and i dont correct them for that because its not worth correcting and also not their fault#your dog is actually dangerous and you dont have control over him#my dogs are not dangerous and when i tell them to be quiet and get inside they do#so who doesnt have control huh????#theyre just mad because theyre the strangers my dogs bark at sometimes and since i dont like how they interact with my dogs i allow it#because they are rude as fuck and do not respect my dogs' boundaries at all#and think that dogs shouldnt be allowed to have boundaries because they should be 'kid safe“ which really means shut down from punishment#thats how they are with klaus which is a big part of why i dont trust him too#because they have created a dog who gets punished for setting boundaries so that the kids can 'safely' climb all over him and annoy him#and to me that is a recipe for a dog that doesnt give a lot of warning before becoming aggressive because hes been punished for it#i do not trust dogs who have been punished for having boundaries#and i dont trust their owners either#also them doing that means their kids think they can do whatever they want to dogs and interact very rudely with them#so i dont let their kids interact with my dogs at all now because even with me constantly correcting them they ignore me and are rude#and that definitely is something theyre also salty about because their kids want to play with my dogs#and they also want my dogs to play with Klaus and there is mo way in hell I'd allow that which they also dont like#hes an intact bully who they have admitted can be 'really fiesty' with other dogs#and Hermes is an intact male who seems to have a 'kick me“ sign on him for other dogs and i just wont risk it#and it drives them crazy that i dont trust their strange dog not to be aggressive to my dogs and wont let them all be 'friends'#DOGS DONT NEED TO BE FRIENDS WITH STRANGE DOGS THEY DONT KNOW OR LIVE WITH#I hate ignorant pet owners that make their ignorance my problem#rant

| milf (man i love fish moms)
synopsis: kim minji who works at a cafe develops a crush on a girl who she saw in a pet store, that girl is her neighbor — minji doesn't know.
— nonidol!kminji × nonidol!femreader
くコ:彡くコ:彡くコ:彡くコ:彡くコ:彡
kim minji vividly remembers the memory of when she first saw you, it was in a pet store located near the apartment complex she lives in. it sat in the middle of two restaurants, one is a fast-food restaurant and another one is a cafe, where she works as a cashier. she remembers how you stared at the fishes with so much adoration, your eyes were wide — sparkling like you had the universe inside of them.
minji remembers standing there, wearing her uniform and having to slap herself back awake when she realized she's been staring at you for quite a long time. because why the fuck was she there staring down an innocent girl gawking over fishes in a tank instead of doing whatever job she had? she literally only went to the pet store to bring the owner a box.
minji felt like a weirdo, for a moment only.
then she started thinking of you more often, not realizing that you lived in the same apartment as she did, the same floor and all. it's not like minji liked making friends, yeah she's sociable and all but she hated dealing with landlords and annoying neighbors.
so the door next to her apartment was always ignored, she never really had gotten a chance to know who the person living inside was. minji only got to know pham hanni, the girl who lived on the lower floor. they were friends, they also took the same classes.
meanwhile, you were stuck inside your apartment, which turned out to be the apartment next to minji's. you lived quite a comfortable life, you were content with whatever you have today, there's no point in looking for more.
you work at home, study online — play video games, eat, walk around the house and then take care of your fish, sometimes stare at them with your mouth wide open, amazed.
there's nothing in this world that you love more than fish, you study about them, you watch videos about them — you are practically obsessed with fish and there's nothing changing you. you see these fishes as your own, you bought them all the things they need, spent money on corals and bigger tanks, oxygen and fillers.
whenever you can, you'd research about a new fish and you try to look for them around every pet store that exists near your place.
you also have a turtle in a separate tank, you named him sheldon — which your brother didn't quite like.
your life revolves around these things only, and you could never be thankful enough for it. you never see a space in your life for love life, it's always unavailable because you care about things that you have now more than what you wish for.
but sometimes, there are people who are not content with your life — like your mother!
she finds your fear of stepping out of your comfort zone a not-so-good thing, it may affect how you live for the next few years, your confidence and more, and one of the things she hates is a kid who is fearful.
"honey, when will you find a partner? i'm worried you're not able to take care of yourself alone there." your mother sighed, for a thousand times already. it gets tiring but you understand that she's just worried, i mean you have no other sources of happiness, you have no one to lean on when there are problems.
you never saw that as a problem, it gets hard yeah but it's all good, right?
"mom, thanks but look — i don't think it's the right time for that. i'm still young and i have a lot of things on my plate right now." you answered, the phone on your hand and the other is wiping the moss away from the tank, it's not necessary to do that but you want to see your kids better.
"but who will you talk to when we're not there? y/n, you need a shoulder to lean on. you need someone to share sentiments with, to care for. you need to create more relationships, it's good!" seriously, you love your mom but sometimes she can get a little pushy.
but she did have a point.
"I'll think about it." you replied, trying to fight the urge to sigh in defeat. you hear your mom hum, a sign that she's satisfied with your answer.
the next day, you find yourself inside a cafe, beside the pet shop you visit all the time. you sat at a table near the counter, scrolling away on your phone to a website showcasing various species of fishes.
to be quite frank, it is your first time visiting here — you never paid much attention to this place, you eat by ordering and making foods yourself at your place. you liked it that way, you hated engaging interaction the social anxiety just isn't good.
you found the strength to stand up and make an order to the counter and as you walk — a certain cashier has her eyes on you. minji felt a tension arising from her, as you got closer and closer, minji got more skittish. she doesn't understand why but when she made eye contact with you, her knees felt weak.
"good morning!" minji greeted you, with a gorgeous smile on her face. you blinked at her and tried to smile back, but you screamed mentally realizing it might have looked forced and awkward. "good morning." you greeted back.
"may i take your order?" your eyes shot at the menu on the screen above, darting at the selection of food and drinks. there's this familiar feeling in your stomach, the same feeling you get during a class presentation when you're about to present your work or when you know you fucked the exam up.
erm, what do i want again? you ask yourself.
finding it hard to choose and to speak, afraid you might make any mistake and forever embarrass yourself. you remembered this one technique your brother taught you.
he said: "if you ever find yourself stuck in front of a pretty cashier and suddenly forget the basics of how to order food, just say — hey what's your recommendation? it works!"
your brother knows damn well it doesn't, and you yourself knows that too. everyone knows your brother is an airhead, he probably thinks it does wonders to literally anyone, then again he managed to be in a relationship with someone.
but alas, you were desperate.
"hey miss, what do you recommend here?" you were quite surprised, it went out smoothly, you didn't stutter and was able to hold eye contact for more than five seconds. minji smiled and pushed strands of her hair behind her ear.
honestly, minji has her own favorites, she has a lot of recommendations in the menu — there is a lot of good stuff in here but… she looks at you and sees quite an expectant look on your face (in reality, it's just you looking constipated and wanting to cut this social interaction quickly).
"i guess kombucha and cinnamon rolls, i think you'll like them." minji stated, her gummy smile looked pleasant to your eyes and you loved her energy, weirdly enough you were able to calm yourself down. with a nod, you bowed your head. "thanks, i'll take them." after paying, you're first thought is to leave the counter but —
"what's your name?" the cashier asked. you raised your eyebrows, there's this awkward twitching on the corner of your lips — you let out an airy laugh. "uhm, y/n." you see minji writing it on a paper before giving the receipt to you.
god, that was hard.
minji smiled, she really cannot help it.
you went back to the seat you were at a few moments ago, then started contemplating about your life, wishing you were sitting in front of your fish tank so the thoughts go 'round your head faster. it's hard to concentrate here, there are too many people.
your phone vibrated in your pocket, you dug your hand in and pulled your phone out to a message from you mother.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
y/nnnn my daughter
i still remember what you told me
so, do you plan on meeting someone?
i am excited to hear about your thoughts
seen.
ah of course, your mom again. you knew she's not gonna give up that easily — but there was no way you can convince her, you've already kind of… promised her a positive answer so it's hard to turn back. at this rate, you'd have to get on with it, get a date or something.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
erm
hi mom
i need more time,
i promise!
i need to get to know people more
sent.
you clear your throat when you feel the waiter approach your table with your order. minji stood by the counter, watching over you with a smile on her face.
the easiest way to find the perfect match for you is either through an app (which you KNOW you would hate) or through a mutual friend, which would probably be a safer option rather than being abducted.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
well, i am expecting a good news by the end of this month
i know my amazing daughter would never disappoint ;)))
and plus i want you to be happy with someone
i can't stand you being alone there
seen.
well you are quite miserable, you wouldn't deny that but hey — you are trying! at least, that's the second best thing you can do for yourself.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
alright i know mom,
don't worry, you'll meet the perfect person by the end of the month
they'll love fish too
sent.
your mother's reply came soon after you sent your message and you can't help but sigh playfully.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
they better love fish!
my daughter can't be with someone who isn't willing to be a fish parent
>:(((
seen.
you still love your mom even if she's annoying.
when minji came back to her apartment, she didn't expect a visitor — which turned out to be her best friend; pham hanni. "hi bff! did you miss me?" hanni grinned at her friend, walking her way to the dining table and taking a cookie from the bowl.
minji rolled her eyes and smiled. "i see you everyday, pham."
hanni laughed and stood with her arms crossed.
"hey, remember when you used to complain about being lonely and sad?" hanni spoke, making her way to the living as minji went ahead of her. minji sighed and nodded. "oh yeah, i was drunk that time pham, forget it." minji responded, getting a scoff from hanni.
"just as i found a solution!" minji looked at hanni as they stood in the middle of the living room, her brow rising at the bold claim from hanni. "and what about it?" hanni pushed her friend lightly by the shoulder. "oh, don't act stupid! look, i'm setting you up on a date." hanni shrugged when minji looked at her with a "are you serious?" face — not forgetting the pout on her lips.
"and with who?" minji snarked.
hanni shook her head, raising her index finger and shaking it. "nuh-uh! can't tell, jihye said it's a secret." she proceeded to giggle over the mention of her girlfriend, which made minji fake a gag to mask her jealousy.
yeah, i definitely DON'T want a girlfriend for sure.
"thanks to your girlfriend i guess." minji sighed. she really wanted to bite the offer, but the fact that she's currently into someone else (which happened to be you) remains, how is she supposed to be there and act all interested?
that's gonna be harsh.
but then, it's not like she's gonna lose something.
"so? deal or no deal?" hanni nudged her friend. minji rolled her eyes playfully and said: "deal, gremlin."
and you found yourself fiddling g your fingers as you sat at a different restaurant that your friend, jihye reserved for you and your supposedly blind date.
you hope whoever that is jihye decided to set you up with wouldn't be an asshole, that's too much to ask for but hey — that has to be at least someone jihye knows of.
you were nervous, to say that you felt confident would be an understatement — you lowkey wished the restaurant had a tank with fish for you to stare at, but all they have here is a tank of lobsters that are on their life sentences, to be served as a dish.
this isn't good. you told yourself, feeling the same bubbling feeling inside you.
"hey," your head turns and you see a familiar face.
minji?
minji!
or to you, is the cashier from the cafe.
"y/n?" she muttered, looking at you. your eyes twitched, but gave her a small and shy smile.
a part of you is thankful it was her, rather than anybody else it had to be that pretty cashier from the cafe.
minji was happy, rejoicing inside her head when you stretched a hand at her.
"l/n y/n." you cracked a smile, this time it felt natural. minji chuckled a little, feeling her face burning up with the sensation of your palms on hers, the soft skin rubbing on her calloused one.
"i'm kim minji."
then all your worries were washed away when minji helped you get through the conversation, you liked her caring personality. it seems like she finds it easy reading people's moods and is able to choose her words very well.
you liked that.
you like her enough to let this little date be more than just a one time thing.
"i study marine biology! i like the water and i used to live near a shore at busan. i have a lot of pet fish and a turtle named sheldon." you watched as she listened attentively, her eyes darting at your face and to your lips — you like that, her way of showing interest. you like it when people care about what you say.
minji doesn't really care about fish, but she cares about the ocean, hello? — she was the one who suggested the use of papers in their cafe.
but it wasn't as intense as your interest, you seemed deep in the ocean studies (no pun intended, really). it didn't bother minji, as long as a pretty girl gets to say what she wants, minji's fine with that.
"that's cool! you know marine and like bodies of water are interesting." minji sees the glimmer in your eyes, it's like the skies at night are nothing compared to the blinding light in your pupils. you nod at her. "i want to say more, but there's not much time left. if you want, here's my number. i can invite you to my place anytime you're free." you passed her a card, it's your phone number.
minji looked up at you with flushed cheeks, you looked down and laughed softly.
when you got back home, the first thing you did was get your phone and message your friend.
mo jihye U ´꓃ ` U
hey
it was great
it went soo well
thanks
sent.
then your mom, you think of minji with a smile — feeling the excitement rush inside of you.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
moommmm
i think i will be able to introduce you to someone
don't get too excited but,
she's great!
she likes the ocean too
sent.
your phone vibrated to messages of your mom, jihye then an unknown number.
mo jihye U ´꓃ ` U
oh my god???
really??
you like minji???
that sauurrrr amazing!
seen.
you laughed, kicking your feet by the edge of your bed.
mo jihye U ´꓃ ` U
i get it now,
i'll invite her idk when but i will
sent.
you scroll through the messages.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
oh that's amazing!
i can't wait to meet her!
is she pretty?
does she have a job?
what's her hobby?
seen.
you decided to check out the unknown number.
unknown number
hey,
this is minji
;))
what's up?
seen.
you couldn't help but giggle; it's such a weird feeling but it's nice and you don't mind it.
minji ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ
all good
thanks for earlier,
you're so fun
hehe
sent.
mom (ノ`⌒´)ノ┫:・┻┻
that's way too many questions
still getting to know her more!
but we'll get there
just wait :D
sent.
you keep thinking about minji, it's too fast you think? but she's got that vibes, as long as she doesn't plan on murdering you, you believe it's going to be well. she's interested, and so are you — it's not gonna be that bad, right?
there's still doubt but it's not that bad to indulge yourself for a while, you hate second guessing and you like going for what you want.
minji ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ
nah, thank you too
hey, can't wait to hear more from you ;))
let's see each other often :pp
nice to meet you.
seen.
oh how fast you two have been, but that doesn't matter. you were ready to invite her over to your place, and she was ready to accept it — making sure she guessed a date you'll give her an invite, making sure it's free.
you plan on giving her an invite today, though the both of you have no idea where each other lives — still, it's quite crazy right? you are starting to realize that it's not just liking, or interest, you are fond of her now and it's going to be hard to ignore the way she makes your mind go crazy.
the last time you felt this frenzy was when you first got your fish tank.
her smile, her eyes, her nose, her cheeks, her hands, and her lips. minji is a dream, the type of dream you get in a deep slumber. meanwhile, minji loves you — already, it's a foolish thing to say but she really couldn't get enough, the way her heart gets crazy when you're near. the circuit of electricity running inside her veins your hands touch, your lips look magnetic.
she's desperate for more.
"just finished your shift?" you asked her, your finger twirling on the strand of your hair, the other hand on your phone, pressed to your cheek— you laid on your back, your weight pressed on the soft mattress of your bed. you tried to fight a smile, but the sound of her breath takes you away. "yeah, about to go home actually." she responded. you can hear shuffling from the other line and figured it might be her packing up her stuff.
"can i tell you something?" you asked her, minji raised her brows and stopped from what she was doing. "yeah?"
"can you come over here to my place? whenever you're free." minji felt herself frozen, she looked around the room to see if anyone was there, took a peek behind the wall before smiling from ear to ear. "yes, i don't mind tomorrow." you smiled, practically trying your best to fight the urge not to roll over your bed and fall.
"o-oh, yes! i'll send you my address."
minji chuckled and nodded. "alright."
here's the thing, as minji was walking her way back to the apartment complex, you were inside your apartment — the door next to hers, she doesn't know it's you of course, and you don't know it's her next door. minji walked past your door and stopped in front of hers, then her eyes darted to the door of your apartment.
i wonder who lives here.
must be an old woman or something.
minji then entered her apartment and received a message from you.
minji ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ
hey,
this is my address
×××× bldg. 3rd floor - ××××
see you!
sent.
minji placed her bag on the couch and read your message, her eyes checked if she saw it correctly.
the same building, the same location, the same floor — minji rushed outside of her door and then to your door, there's a number plate, exactly like what you sent her.
minji took a deep breath, then she knocked.
you were staring at your fish tank, heard the door knocking and wondered who it might be, it's not like you had any conversations with the person living next door nor knew anyone in this apartment complex.
as you opened the door, you were greeted by a not-so-much taller girl, your eyes met hers and you were taken back. "minji?" you peek outside your door and back to minji who smiled. "why are you here already?" you asked, with actual confusion in your voice.
minji chuckled and pointed to the apartment next to yours. "i live there. i just found out you live here too." she spoke with that deep voice of hers, sending chills to your spine.
you laughed. "oh my god." you put a hand on your face and stared at minji, her eyes looked so… cute today? you don't know, but you really think it's a precious sight to look at and get yourself lost in, the same feeling you get when you stare at your pets. then you can't help but smile wider, a blush painting your cheeks pink.
your mom will love minji, you'll make sure of it.
minji laughed, her eyes turned crescents, her cheeks flaring red and the tip of her ears are a thousand shades of red. it's music to your ears, you've never felt this happy with a person ever before, you just realized. it's like everything momentarily stops, but you are hyper aware of your surroundings, minji's presence and all — even the loud thumping your heartbeat resonating with hers.
you want to touch her hand, feel her warmth on yours.
"i like you already." minji muttered, her smile never fading. you tried to contain a squeal, something you really never expected.
"me too, i think. i like you too minji."

I did not grow up with cats. I was solidly a dog person. I was never planning on getting a cat until CZ showed up and I fell in love with him. Here are some things I did not know about cats and freaked out about until I learned they were normal cat behaviors (shout out to all my friends with cats that I would panic message whenever my kitty did something unexpected like “IS THIS NORMAL???”)
I knew cats purred, but I did not know how LOUD it was. When CZ got comfortable with me and started purring, I got freaked out thinking he had a breathing problem and was wheezing, until I learned that some cats just sound like little motorcycles.
Cats randomly bite for no reason. CZ bites when I get out of the shower or just for funsies, and I thought he hated me.
Cats like to hide places. He constantly hid under the bed and I thought something was wrong with him.
Cats don’t often pant. For some reason I thought they panted as often as dogs and I thought CZ was constantly going to overheat because he wasn’t doing that
Cats shed like crazy. I thought they didn’t shed like dogs, and I thought CZ had a disease the first summer I had him and his hair started shedding.
Cats are really picky about food. One time I switched cat food brands and he refused to eat, and I thought he was sick and dying. But he ate fine when I bought his old food again.
Cats WILL find a way to entertain themselves even if they have designated cat toys. I learned the hard way that I had to hide my yarn and my rubber bands for bracelets or he would get into them and make a huge mess.
Cats don’t “go to bed” like humans and dogs. I was used to putting dogs in a crate or making them lay on their beds at night to go to sleep. CZ would just stay up all night catting around while I slept.
I didn’t know that cats usually don’t come when their names are called and you can’t teach them obedience like dogs (sit, down, stay, etc). I tried to train him like a dog, and he’s smart enough to know the commands, but he just doesn’t care about doing them.
Cats aren’t as food driven as dogs. He doesn’t like any cat treats, so teaching him tricks is difficult.
Cats don’t care about positive reinforcement in terms of training. No amount of petting and kind words would make him sit or down or do tricks for me.
Cats ATTACK when you touch them certain places. CZ would lay on his back like he wanted me to pet his tummy, but when I did he would bite and scratch and kick me. It is fun for him to trick people like that.
Cats aren’t as owner oriented. The dogs I grew up with (my mom is a professional dog trainer) will hang around you and cling to you, waiting for you to tell them to do something or pay attention to them. CZ would just do his own cat thing and ignore me most of the time, and only occasionally would approach me for cuddles or pets.
Cats will do shit just to see your reaction. CZ will climb up onto the shelf where I keep my pants, wait for me to look at him, and then make eye contact with me and knock all the clothes off the shelf.
Obsessed with eating bugs. Maybe this is just my kitty because he was a homeless feral cat for a year before I found him, but if there’s a spider or something in my room, he will hunt it for hours and then eat it LOUDLY.
Cats will attack anything that moves. Before I cut my hair and it was long, if he was in play mode and I wanted to play with him, I would have to put my hair up or he’d attack it (and usually scratch my face or neck in the process)
Cats are LOUD. The dogs I grew up with were trained not to bark unless it was for a good reason (like if they were a service dog who needed to alert their handler of something) so I wasn’t expecting for CZ to SCREAM meow at me if he ran out of food or if I was gone for too long. He will scream at the top of his kitty lungs if I’m gone for more than 10 minutes without filling up his food bowl.
Cats are dramatic. One time the guy setting up the internet had to come into my room to put something in there, and CZ hid for THREE hours.
Cats will wake you up for no reason. If I’m sleeping in, CZ will bite my toes very hard until I wake up. For no reason other than for funsies.
Cats don’t care about your personal space. I had to move my bed away from the window because he would use my stomach as a launching pad to get to the window to look at my stepdad leaving for work EVERY morning at 5am.
Cats have strange hiding places. CZ likes to wiggle his way into my dresser, and on MANY occasions, has climbed into the washer or dryer and bites and scratches anyone who tries to get him out so they can do laundry.
Cats hold grudges??? My mom and I had to syringe feed him for a while when he was sick and wouldn’t eat, and he gets angry and attacks my mom or hides if she walks into my room with any kind of thing resembling a syringe.
Cats DO NOT like car rides. CZ scream meows and complains every time we take him in the car to go to the vet.
Here’s is the famous Collector Zoloft:

As a response to your cat post about people ignorance when it gives to petting:
I HATE THAT SO MUCH
As a cat owner, it really upsets me that people do this - to any animal really, but especially cats because they tend to be more obvious in their dislikes than say a dog who are usually bred to do whatever you say and as a byproduct have more subtle signs of discomfort before they get aggressive
But cats are usually very vocal and obvious from what I've seen
Like my girl, who's name is so lovingly Fat Cat, does NOT like to be pet
She's old enough now to where she's grown more accustomed to this and I'm not the only one who can pet her anymore, but any longer than a minute and she starts growling and trying to move away and gets obviously overstimulated - most times, anyway
But often times family will visit who just, for the life of them, do not understand that she is a bitter bitter old woman and DOES NOT like to be handled by anyone other than me and then they get scratched and get mad at her and me for it like I haven't told them every time they visit to not pet her because this would happen
It's very upsetting to see people view pets as objects like this :( they have feelings and emotions and are living creatures, not a toy you get a kid for their birthday only to drop at a pound later in the year because the kid was too young to understand that (to no fault of their own)
Sorry for the rant I'm very passionate about cats
YEAH NO THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN YOU’RE SO RIGHT JAY.
My whole life I have always adopted or rescued animals, and usually they came from homes who outright hated them, didn’t even want them, or just completely abandoned them. So I’d like to think I’m a bit more sensitive to an animal’s likes and dislikes.
Cats especially, I grew up with a lot of strays and adopted cats, they ALL had different personalities and their own boundaries, of course they do, and I wouldn’t fault someone who may not be familiar with cat behavior stepping over a line by accident, but when you CONTINUOUSLY make them uncomfortable/disrespect their boundaries, THATS when I have a problem, especially when someone tells you that the cat outright doesnt like whatever you’re doing.
You’re absolutely right about them not being toys, they’re a responsibility, if you choose to take in a pet you are their whole world! They rely on you for so much and you don’t even NEED them (excluding working animals) but they need you.
Taking them in might just be a small thought for us, but to them it could be life or death. I’m so serious about this.
Anyway, respect their boundaries, thats all. It’s like making a new friend, you learn about them the more you spend time with them.
Also heres Parm-o with his uncle Ham. They’re actually asleep rn but I like this pic of them together <3
also cartoon parm lmao cause he usually looks like this
I love you my sweet baby boy 😭
#asks#yoinkschief#I love parmesan hes such a sweetheart#people thinks he’s a hateful little cat just cause he doesn’t like being touched#He doesn’t do leg rubs either he does leg bumps#like he bumps into your leg then backs up lmao#I know thats his version of leg rubbing tho cause he purrs#JUST LEARN ABOUT YOUR PETS MANNNN#They’re so funny and interesting when you do#thats a whole ass personality you just took in bro#might as well get to know them#SORRY ABOUT THE LONG RESPONSE BTW I TOO LOVE ANIMALS

clanhart story
ok so i came onto tumlr today to talk about a story i still enjoy from clanheart. i was pretty active in the clanheart alpha because tbh i thought the concept was neat and i wanted to see it get somewhere. i was pretty actively posting threads and giving feedback. then i noticed the dev and owner stopped replying to me. keep in mind the dev replied to EVERY bug report thread made within a few hours during regular working times (aka not overnight). but i noticed mine starting to go under the radar. not be responded to when 5-10 threads would be answered. someone else would post my problem and it'd be acknowledged very quickly. i was like... am i cr*zy? am i analyzing this too much? but then it happened a few more times and i'm like hmm. hmmmmm. that's weird. granted i was also a little clout chaser that responded well to praise also but i'm fairly certain i wasn't overt about it. i just like being given gold stars to show i did good today ok
eventually the site kinda slowly dies because shit keeps happening, the dev leaves, etc etc it's a mess. however true to pet site tumblr there was a drama blog. and there was a post on the drama blog mentioning slash as the owner of the website. if you don't know slash he's made several pet sites over the last 15ish years and they're all kinda notorious for flopping or not delivering on certain things.
anyway that's when it clicked
well at first i was like, no fucking way, i actually like this person, how could it be slash. then i went on whatever the big petsite forum was and found the thread about it. and yup. slash is the owner. this is his idea. i'm over here pissing myself. why? because at some point within a week or two prior to me noticing i was being ignored, someone posted a thread titled "what pet sites do you not like?", paraphrased. and i posted a whole got damn rant about aywas. how much i fucking hated aywas for being a trash site. (i still hate aywas for being a trash site, if it's even alive still.) if u don't know. aywas was slash's biggest success. i straight up talked shit about this man's work to his face and i didn't even fucking realize. and believe me he was very active on the forums and reading every thread posted, because it's not like there was much being posted between like 30-50 people. and i thought to myself well gee that makes sense now and i don't necessarily blame you for ignoring me but i'd still appreciate if you weren't petty to someone actually trying to help you
so yeah i still think about that from time to time. once every 1 to 2 years. and get a good laugh out of it every time

“osamu, what the hell is your problem?”
osamu miya isn’t one to act out like this, he’s never one to run head first into a fight with no armour. he’s not brash and unreasonable like ‘tsumu. he’s supposed to be the better twin at this compared to the blonde scrub he should have eaten in the womb.
but when it comes to you, he loses all sense of rationality— the slightest change in your emotions still has osamu acting a fool after all this time.
“i was defending yer honour!” he announces adamantly, slur heavier than usual as he flinches away from the bag of frozen peas you have pressed into his swelling cheek. osamu hates frozen veg, it ruins the quality and taste of his product, so he prefers to start afresh every time to make sure everyone gets the very best of what he has to offer but boy is he glad that he kept the bag in his kitchen’s freezers from when he first started out.
he still can’t believe he got punched in his own damn shop.
your face twists as you peel back the defrosting packet, analysing the tender area on the younger miya twin’s face. still handsome, even when bruised like a softly ripened peach. “osamu miya,” he hates how his full name sounds on your tongue, bitter and still slightly resentful— nothing like the ‘samu’s he’s used to. “i do not need defending! god…you don’t change. you never do!” frustration sits caked on your features like a layer of sweat after a gruelling day in the kitchens. “when will you realise that i can be my own person outside of you? i can take care of myself. i don’t need you to back me up, tell me to sit this one out like you do with ‘tsumu. i don’t need protecting.” you shift awkwardly on your knees, the tiled floor in onigiri miya’s kitchen cutting into your skin. “and besides…i like him.”
osamu pushes the peas from your grip, brows knotted together as he scowls at you like what you’ve said isn’t true. you could tell him those words a thousand times and he’d selfishly ignore them because you’re way too good to go unprotected in this world.
“yer still s’fuckin’ naive,”
the curse word slipping from the restaurant owners lips surprises you— it upsets you, the hurt sweltering in your chest. “‘samu that’s not fair…”
“i don’t care if it is! i see the way ya grimace when he touches ya, the way ya avoid his gaze. how he treats ya like a fuckin’ pet rather than a human being!” the miya twin roars back, and if he was loud enough you’re sure he’d rattle the pots out to dry on the dish-rack. “that’s not love. you know that.”
your face scrunches up, expression foul and osamu knows he shouldn’t have said that.
“and you do?” he can hear the tired tremble in your voice, you’ve both been here before, stuck in a loop of the same argument. osamu shouldn’t cast judgement on the people you date, not when he ruined the concept of love and happiness for you in the first place. he gave you up when you’d done nothing but cherish him for years after the team went their separate ways.
he was the one to let you go.
he was the one desperate to see you again, dropping hints to kita to invite the old inarizaki manager to the reunion at his precious store in osaka after atsumu’s big game.
he was the one who threw the first punch at your now fiancé because the way he held you wasn’t right.
it was too tight, too rough for someone who deserved the world like you. osamu could read the twitch of pain on your face probably before you even felt it…because he still loved you, he still knew everything about you and he didn’t even have the right to. he probably deserved to get his shit rocked before aran and suna dragged your fiancé outside the shop ( atsumu would have ripped the guy’s head off too for hurting his brother…but kita was there and you’d pleaded with him not to ).
so osamu miya stays silent, becomes a little more reserved unlike his bastard brother and zips his lips once more— throwing away the key while he avoids your desperate gaze. “nothin’.” he mumbles simply, looking away from your wounded puppy dog eyes.
“of course,” you say quietly, even though he can hear the crack of tears in your voice. “because you could never love anyone outside of this stupid shop.”
and as you let it slip you’re crying up, and back away from him on the kitchen floor of onigiri miya, osamu realises…there’s no starting over with you. it’s far too late for that.

You Are Coming To SmackDown One Way Or Another- Roman Reigns X Fem!Reader
Warnings: None
kaikamahine nani means beautiful in Hawaiian.
a/n: This may be a two part series! This one being the main part then the next part being the smut.
_________________________________________________
Pissed? No that’s not what Roman felt at the moment. He was livid at the moment. His girlfriend Y/N was being drafted to RAW!
Paul tried to negotiate with Adam and Sonya but, they wanted to give Y/N a push on her own! Roman didn’t like that at all.
He felt that they are trying to take his girl away from him just because they think she can do better without him. He is aware of what she can do hell she won the SmackDown and RAW Women’s before they started dating!
He wanted her to be by his side only! Not on raw where he wasn’t at he hated every thought of it
Y/N though, didn’t see this as a problem! She saw it as another brand to go back to and remind people that nothing has changed. I mean nothing was wrong with being drafted to a different brand…right?
“Roman, If you are worried I’ll get hurt or whatever it is I won’t! I’ll be fine On RAW. We will still be together and in the same company.” She said trying to make it better.
“Y/N, we won’t see each-other ever. We will travel with different people, be in different cities, countries, and states without each-other, we will have a different schedule. Everything is wrong with that! I don’t like- no. i don’t trust you on a different brand. I need you everywhere with me. People are gonna think I don’t own you anymore-“
“ Woah now. You don’t own me, we’ve been over this before. We are dating IN A RELATIONSHIP You aren’t a pet owner and I’m not a pet. There is nothing wrong with being in a different brand. You don’t trust me? No you just don’t like the fact that I can do more without you by my side all the time! You think I’ll make a mockery of your little Bloodline huh?”
Roman sighed and sat down. “ Its not that I don’t trust you, I don’t trust the idiots around you! They will make you slack off at your task. You won’t focus-“
Y/N cut him off again and he sighed with irritation. “Roman just cut the crap, you don’t think I can do anything without you. You trust me because you don’t believe in me just say it Roman gosh stop betting around the bush!”
He stood up and grabbed his belt. “ You aren’t going to RAW and that’s final. If I had to force them to change Jimmy and Jey back here don’t pretend I can’t do it for you either.”
He said and as if it was on cue Paul walked in and felt the tense air. Paul looked at me then sighed.
“I’m sorry my tribal chief but they said she has to stay on RAW. I tried to beg them my tribal chief but nothing worked.”
He said trying not to get yelled at by Roman again for the 12th time today.
Y/N got up and walked out ignoring Roman and Paul shouting her name.
She was heated she doesn’t understand what’s the problem with being away! It’s not like she was gonna cheat, mock his Bloodline, make him look weak, etc etc. Of course she went to Naomi she just needed to talk.
She saw Naomi next to Jimmy and Jey chatting. She sat next to Naomi and it got silent.
“ Dont tell me you guys heard about him being pissed about me being drafted to RAW as well?” She said and they looked at each other then nodded. She sighed and put her head down.
“ Uce is just looking out for you ,Y/N. I know he may come off as obsessed or possessive but he feels like you aren’t protected and that’s his job. He wants to protect you from any harm and protect you with his love. He feels he can’t do that when you are so far.” Jey said looking at her.
“We all know Roman would never take any opportunity from you, EVER. He feels like this is just you being stolen from him. After all you both been through he just wants you to himself not on a different roaster. He means well sis” Naomi said patting her back.
“ Big Uce wants the best for you even if it’s like this..” Jimmy chipped in.
Y/N nodded and looked at them, understanding them.
“ It’s just that he’s gonna have to accept this. They aren’t changing this I won’t allow him to take this away from me.” She stood up and went to her lockerroom- well Their lockerroom.
She walked in and was expecting to see both Paul and Roman but, instead she saw her new ring gear which was red.
As she picked it up she saw a note fall out of it. “I’m sorry Babygirl for my actions. I just really don’t want you to leave. I love, adore and need you by side. I need you to function and if you aren’t there I feel so lost. Please forgive me, Love Tribal Chief” She read out loud.
Y/N scoffed and put it down. She looked at her gear and saw a little flower, looking closely and saw it was a Lotus Flower, her favourite flower. Slowly she heard the door open and turned around seeing Roman.
He stood there holding a big bouquet of them. “ These are for you, Kaikamahine Nani~” He sighed and put them on the table.
“I know earlier what I said was just not needed.. but I was scared I was going to loose you and I couldn’t stand the feeling of it. It sucked really it did..” Roman looked down then at her.
“ Roman I understand but that doesn’t give you the right to make it seem like you own me and you are the reason I’m here. I love you and you know I will always love you. Nothing can take me from you and I know you are aware of that but just please Roman please, remember that.” Y/N walked to Roman and smiled pulling him to a hug. “I accept your apology. I’ve got 2 more weeks with you until we officially switch now let’s make the most of it.” She looks up and sees him smirking.
“ I think I know a couple of ways to make the most of it each and everyday~” He said picking her up and carrying her to the shower.
Oh boy.
——————————————————————————
immmmm back with another Little action! This will be a two part series so, the next part will be the smut. I wanted to do something different.
Also slight warning, I know that I will always get hate and good interaction on my stories but, the negative kinda knocks at me brain. You see I don’t do grammar checks as much and neither is my grammar great to began with. I never asked for the negative so please do not, I repeat do not send me something especially when you hide under anonymous and don’t have the balls to actually go to me to say the shit on your actual profile.

[lying on tummy, kicking feet, staring up at u in wonder] could we please get director's commentary on treading softly? anything that was going through your mind, a scene that was particularly hard to write, how the story developed? anything you'd like to share!
AMES BESTIE PLS thank you for your lovely ask here's a chapter of Treading Softly in My Head that I really wanna talk about!
This part's about Sebastian realizing that the bond is affecting Mark in a much more severe way than it is affecting him. I really did want to highlight Mark in a more vulnerable position in this story (which we know then flips around later on), because it's 2013. 2013 was all Sebastian. Now what was it like for Mark?
Mark looks downright awful. His eyes are bloodshot, his hair in disarray, like he’s been clutching at strands and pulling. Sebastian reaches out without thinking, cupping his elbow, and Mark’s entire body tunes toward him like a compass needle finding North.
“You’re here,” Mark rasps, like he can’t believe Sebastian actually came.
Mark is in disbelief here. He didn't think Sebastian would bother coming over to ease the pain the distance was causing him. And why would he think otherwise? Seb's shown (in multi21) that all he cares about is winning.
“I said I would be.” He sounds sharper than he intended. The media, the fans, his own team, they’d have the world believe he’d be gloating in this position. But Sebastian can’t feel anything but dismay. Such power over his own teammate shouldn’t be legal.
Seb however, is aghast that Mark would think so. Look at how they keep getting their wires crossed. Yes, he might care about winning. But not to the extent that he'd ignore someone suffering over a bond that neither of them has any control over. He's never seen Mark in such duress. It's unsettling. Mark has never been anything but unflappable in Seb's eyes.
Seb made his own decisions and will have protection as usual, that’s just how it goes.
Mark actually says this after multi21. Poor guy.
The irony isn’t lost on him. If it weren’t such a problem this would almost be comical.
Mark straightens himself up, like he’s feeding off Sebastian’s mere touch. He catches sight of Sebastian’s duffel bag, packed enough for a two week stay, and a sort of grateful look crosses his face before he schools his expression into something more neutral. “Come in,” he says.
Sebastian shuffles in, entirely wrongfooted. It’s the first time he’s been over Mark’s place. The first time since they were teammates. Not for a beer, not because they’re friends. For the sole reason that they’re accidentally bonded and Mark’s mentally tearing himself apart over it.
This is Seb, regretting that they could never get to the point where they were friendly enough to do all the things friendly people do with each other. Redbull's environment never allowed for it. They couldn't have lunch. They couldn't hang out. And now Seb's in Mark's home, and he doesn't know how to conduct himself.
He jumps when two dogs bound up from the living room, barking and clambering over themselves to greet Sebastian. “Hallo,” he says, slightly bewildered at their friendliness. A part of him must have imagined Mark’s dogs hating him in equal measure.
Mark's dogs liking Seb is important! I do think pets very often pick out on their owner's stances on another person. And Simba and Shadow so quickly accepting Seb hints to how Mark doesn't actually hate Seb at this point.
“Simba and Shadow.” Mark looks a fraction irritated at how quickly the dogs have taken to Sebastian. “They’re goofballs. The worst guard dogs.”
“I like them,” Sebastian decides.
Mark snorts, but the tight line of his shoulders dips. “You would. They’re like you.”
“Hey,” Sebastian says, but he doesn’t protest too much. They’re smiling at each other now, if only cautiously. The panicked, frothing of the bond has dissolved into a calmer simmer. Sebastian presses a little closer and hears Mark’s breathing even out.
This is me making up stuff about soul bonds. But essentially, when a bond is fresh, distance wears heavily on the users. Unfairly, it only affects Mark, which only further highlights the difference in power between them both. In this situation, and in Redbull. But Seb wants to help, he does. Everyone looking from the outside in could see that Seb wanted to get along with Mark. (Only Mark couldn’t) So Seb leans closer into Mark, even though they would have never done such a thing outside of this, to ease Mark's pain. He goes above and beyond what Mark expects of him.
“Thank you,” Mark says quietly.
Sebastian can only nod in response.
Mark points out the guest room, made up hastily like he’d been there the entire morning, flipping between duvet cover colours. There’s a vase of fresh flowers on the drawer. Hand-picked.
This is from Seb's perspective, but he does note that Mark's made out the guest room hastily. And Mark did. He probably spent the morning panicking, because just as Seb doesn't know how to conduct himself in Mark's home, Mark doesn't know how to host Seb as a guest. So he runs out to the garden, and picks a mismatch bunch of flowers for Seb's arrival, and hopes that's enough.
“You didn’t have to,” Sebastian says, exasperated.
Seb's like, painfully endeared at this point.
“I couldn’t think of anything else to do while waiting for you. I tried.” Mark stops abruptly. “I could only manage that. Simple things.”
“You tried,” Sebastian says slowly. “Tried what?”
Oh here we go, one of my favourite parts of the story. Seb doesn't realize Mark couldn't even function without him at this point.
Mark doesn’t answer, but a hand strays unconsciously to his face. Sebastian flinches, aghast. He wonders how he could’ve missed it earlier, the small but obvious nicks lining Mark’s jaw. Mark cut himself shaving. His hands must have shaken terribly.
He finds out the distance has caused Mark so much distress that he couldn't even shave. Again, highlighting how greatly the balance of power was tipping in Seb's favour. Seb is suitably distraught as he realizes this. A reminder: Seb only wants to win in a fair fight. How is this situation fair in the slightest?
“Sit,” Sebastian says.
Mark sits warily, atop the duvet cover he spent the morning preparing for Sebastian’s arrival.
“Where’s your razor?”
“In my bedroom,” Mark says stupidly. “Seb, what—”
He’s out before Mark can finish his question, and back in under a minute with Mark’s entire shaving kit. Something crawls up his spine steadily in small increments. It takes awhile for him to place it. He’s furious.
He spreads the shaving gel evenly across Mark’s cheeks and throat. Mark’s skin alternates between smoothness and stubble, like he’d kept attempting to complete the job but had to give up halfway.
This is ridiculously intimate, for two people who are currently viewing each other as enemies. You're shaving your sworn rival, for goodness sakes. You're trusting your rival isn't going to slit your throat. You're letting your rival see you in such a vulnerable state.
“Why didn’t you call sooner?” It’s hard keeping his voice level, when all he wants to do is grab Mark’s collar and shake him. He tries to dilute his anger with the gentle motions of his fingers across Mark’s face. Is it anger really, or concern? What if something worse had happened; what if Mark had collapsed again? “Why did you wait until it got this bad?”
Seb is furious and worried sick and furious that he's worried sick. He's furious that Mark waited this out so long. He's furious at the bond. He's treating Mark here with utmost care. You know that trope showing up at your enemy's doorstep bloodied and bruised because you didn't know where else to go? Yeah, that's it right here.
Mark’s eyes flutter close for a moment, and then he’s fixing Sebastian with a glare. “You think it’s easy? Admitting that I need this from you?”
And Mark, in a rare moment of honesty, tells Seb, it's not easy for me to admit I need this from you. I hate being in this position actually. It sucks. (THIS IS ALSO A METAPHOR FOR HIS POSITION IN REDBULL)
“Damnit, Mark.” The balled up righteous fury in him deflates like a day-old balloon. Get off your high horse, he’d said to Mark. Ashamed, he sweeps the razor carefully down the side of Mark’s left cheek. The reluctant relief at the contact is obvious. “I wouldn’t hold this above you, ever. You know I wouldn’t.”
He says the last bit almost pleadingly. You know, surely. The crowds may boo me but you’re my teammate. You hate me but you know. I’m not a monster.
I'd like to think that even though Seb was getting booed across continents (GRRRR), Mark didn't actually take joy in that. And Seb wants this reassurance from Mark--because guess what? His teammate's opinion of him is a lot more important to him than dozens of random, faceless people in the crowd.
Mark doesn’t answer, and Sebastian wilts. He continues shaving Mark in despondent silence. But when he’s done, when Mark’s skin is smooth and clean, complete with the little red slashes here and there, Mark catches Sebastian’s wrist with his hand. Maybe Sebastian hasn’t been starved of him, the same way Mark is, but he has to admit the touch satisfies him somewhat, soothes the ache that’s curling in his gut.
Mark makes Seb wait for his answer, but when he catches Seb's wrist, something in Seb settles. Look, the bond might be extremely one-sided at this point, but Seb is still affected by it. Being close to Mark is soothing here. That's important, because later in the story, Seb tumbles into a panic when he realizes he needs Mark, maybe more than Mark might need him. How quickly the tables turn.
“I know,” Mark says, gruff.
Something shifts, an extra braid inlay weaving in the string between them. Christ. They’re going about this bond breaking all wrong.
Yep, the bond was never going to break. It's only getting stronger. It's about revealing the parts of yourself to your sworn enemy, that you couldn't even reveal to your closest friends! It's about being forced to confront what your enemy is going through! It's about understanding that only the admission of vulnerability can bring about!

Astro-observations 2.0
By:✨Moodymoon✨
⚜️ Mercury conjunct Venus aspect will bless the chart owner with a beautiful speaking voice, however, it does not necessarily grant singing ability. that depends on house placement and the sign.
⚜️ Mercury conjunct venus may also have a seductive voice and be able to attract and charm others simply by talking. This Includes Taurus mercury women.
⚜️ Mercury sextile Venus may mean the chart owner has a pleasant voice but they have to make a conscious effort to “achieve it”. (singing lessons)
but it can also mean, you'll sound erotic in bed.
So you may have not so noticeable speaking voice which blooms in the bedroom. Mercury sextile venus = Pleasant lovemaking sounds.
Astro tips: if you wanna get close with an 8th house mercury, they might be the type of people who'll be impressed if you can *break their psyche down. They might like it if you can figure out things about them that no one else knows without them having to tell you... If they wanna discuss their own deep stuff with you there's a good chance for more.
• An 8th house Mercury will wanna talk about "your stuff" rather than "their stuff" since the 8th house governs other people's possessions. If you wanna get to know them turn the tables.
•If you wanna impress a Leo, be yourself all the way, Leo’s descendant sign is Aquarius and they greatly admire people who are unique.
•If you want to befriend somebody fast find out their Ceres sign, which will show you which way they want to be taken care of.
• For an example I’m a Pisces but my Ceres sign is in Capricorn, if I’m in distress I prefer to sit down and make a practical plan on how to fix my problem. My bestfriend helped me during a rough time in my life by doing exactly that and she’s the only one I really dare open up to. Ceres is as much of a key to emotions as the moon. Beware of squares and hard aspects that may change the outcome.
• Libras tend to like when you make decisions for them and you are unapologetically confident. Even if your idea sucks, if you stand by it there’s a good chance they’ll stand by you.
•⚜️ If your venus sign is very different from your mars sign Ex. Pisces Venus and Aries mars, and if they make no aspect to each other that can mean your romantic type is very different from your sexual type.
—> You may date a person and feel like they are your ideal romantic partner but they don’t turn you on physically at all. (I’m gonna make an entire post in detail dedicated to this soon.) !!
•⚜️ If you have many personal planets in one house you may be attracted to the sign ruling that house. For example, my friend is a Taurus who has her Sun, moon, mercury and venus in the 5th house. Her boyfriend is a Leo. You may also be attracted to the cusp ruler!
🌪Karmic friendship synastry.🌪
Having Mars conjunct south-node is the Jesus/ Judas and Cesar/ Brutus aspect where somebody you trust isn’t who you think they are. If you believe in reincarnation, this aspect means you knew each other in a past life, where you were competitors. The mars (Judas) person betrayed SN now your souls have found each other in this life to settle the karmic debt or get revenge.
The cycle breaks when both Mars and the south node person make peace with how the relationship either is or has ended, take accountability and forgive each other. OBS! they do not need to reconcile to forgive.
• We might see the people who fill our empty houses as “special” and extra memorable
• chart ruler may help you pinpoint your pet peeves in dating
Ex. my chart ruler is the sun and my ASC is Leo, my biggest turn off is when a date isn't very confident or action-oriented.
• Ex, If your chart ruler is Pluto and you have a Scorpio Ascendant you may hate when people seem “fake” and superficial or when you make all the effort. etc.
•Personal planets in the 7th may make it difficult for you to form your own opinion without input. Moon in 7th watches a movie and doesn’t like it, they call their friend who tells them “it’s the greatest movie of all time!” So they watch it again and end up liking the movie because of what their friend said.
- if it’s a fixed moon in 7th however they may need their friend's input to make a final decision which may be to not change their mind.
- cardinal can go either way, they may watch it again to see if they missed anything important that could make them like it more. If not they’ll watch it anyways but complain how they don’t “get it”.
• Personal planets in 7th will struggle to like something if other people dislike it because that eventually makes them start to question why they themselves like it.
• As a 7th house person I avoid reading movie reviews before I watch a movie otherwise I don’t know what opinion is my own
•You need squares and oppositions in synastry, there are lessons in the hard placements. too many trines and sextiles can make you take the relationship for granted and it might feel stagnant. (But there is such a thing as too much of a hard aspect)
hard aspects synastry positives: Sexual tension, strong feelings, fast action taking, easy to identify differences, intense sex, life lessons.
✨Pop-culture astrology✨:
• Celebrities with Neptune aspecting the ASC or Midheaven can get away with an obscene amount of questionable things (Ellen DeGeneres, Justin Bieber, Michael Jordan) I also find this to be true for people with Pisces placements.
•If a personal planet falls into a celebrity’s 4th house you may stan them for several years. You might like everything they do even when they mess up.
•your dominant planet’s placement and the ruler of that house may also tell you which sign you find attractive.

• A whooping amount of celebrities with infamously turbulent love lives have Venus trine/sextile Neptune. Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Jeffree star, Demi Lovato, Iggy Azalea, Kylie Jenner. To name a few!’
• Star athlete Michael Jordan is no exception to the Venus-Neptune love blur. He not only considered the greatest of all time and also has one of the largest divorce settlements in sports history probably because of a last minute Vegas wedding where a prenup was not written.
✨Be careful with that Venus/Neptune y’all✨
• Venus/Neptune tend to idealize relationships and therefore jump in too fast. They will also idealize their partners and only see the best, thereby ignoring a lot of shady behavior. They may also stick it out longer than they should in hopes that things will change.
(One: These are all for fun not criticizing anyone’s personal life or choices)
✨That’s all I’ve got folks. ✨

Hi vets! Can you please give me a veterinary perspective on "factory farms" [and if they deserve the negative reputation they get]?
vet-and-wild here.
Yes and no. I mean, everyone may have different opinions but here’s mine as a former farm laborer and Animal Science grad. Sorry this will be long, I have a whole lot of thoughts on this. “Factory farm” is honestly kind of a scary buzzword people use to describe any large farm, but a lot of times it’s just used as a blanket term for large scale farming rather than being owned by a company. The overwhelming majority of US farms are still family owned. Some of the really big farms have the newest technology to decrease their environmental impact and increase animal welfare (i.e. methane digesters, robotic milkers, etc) and end up being more efficient per pound of product produced. Some small farms have a handful of messy, stinky cows that only get seen by a vet when they’re already super sick. I’ve seen both. I’ve also seen small hobby farms where animals are treated like royalty and large scale farms that are messy and inefficient. BUT, doing anything large scale tends to lead to welfare issues (for both humans and animals) and sustainability issues. The state of animal agriculture in this country is a hot mess. Farmers have to produce massive quantities of cheap product to make a living. The problem isn’t that farmers are some evil animal haters that want to poison the planet, it’s that they literally can’t make a living without mass scale production. That needs to change. It’s bad for the farmers, their animals, and the environment. So go after legislators and corporations that allow this to happen, not poor farm laborers.
Animal welfare, particularly for production animals, was a huge part of my degree focus so that’s the area I’m most familiar with. There are obviously a whole bunch of other comments that can be made about environmental impact and human welfare conditions, but I’ll let someone who knows more than me talk about it. As part of my degree, veterinary training, animal welfare studies, and job experience, I’ve been on a lot of farms. Swine, poultry, dairy, beef, meat goat, dairy goat, meat sheep, dairy sheep, mink (fur), and camelid. I’ve been to organic, backyard, research, feedlots, tie-stall, free-stall, large scale, petting zoos, heritage breed, and every kind of imaginable in between privately owned farm. Even vegan farm animal sanctuaries. I’ve been in meat processing plants and have seen first hand what the processes is. So I’ve seen a lot. And you know what? They all have pros and cons. Back when I was in undergrad we were using the Five Freedoms of animal welfare to assess animals. The Five Freedoms are freedom from hunger and thirst, freedom from fear and distress, freedom to express natural behaviors, freedom from pain/injury/disease, and freedom from discomfort. Farms of any scale can meet those requirements, or fail horribly. Personally, I think confinement housing fails horribly, and that’s a practice generally associated with large scale farming. There are actual benefits (i.e. less inter-animal aggression, tailored nutrition, easier monitoring), but you very much take away freedom to express natural behavior and I would argue freedom from discomfort as well. And you know what? I try to be objective, but my personal feelings are that an animal should have enough room to turn around and not stand in their own waste. I don’t think that should be controversial. Animal agriculture is (for the most part) failing horribly with enrichment and ability to express natural behaviors, and that happens to be very important to me as an animal owner so I know I project that onto agriculture. Some species industries are better than others (i.e. dairy), while some are so far behind (i.e. poultry and swine). I’m not vegan or vegetarian. I don’t have a problem with eating meat, but I think the system needs drastic improvements.
People honestly tend to focus on issues that are not really big issues because showing videos of an animal not being knocked insensible before slaughter is much more gut wrenching than a pig without enrichment. But you know what? There are multiple behavioral and welfare issues with pigs not being provided adequate stimulation, including increased tail chewing (which is why pigs are tail docked), aggression, and stereotypic behaviors. Whereas the rate of successful 1st time stunning in processing plants is actually extremely high, and needs to be to pass inspections. PETA shows a video of dead piglets and it makes people outraged, but the issue isn’t animal abuse, it’s poor biosecurity that caused an outbreak of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus that has a near 100% mortality rate for young pigs. That is a real example. People should be upset. They should be upset that biosecurity protocols weren’t followed. But again, a video of a transport truck not being properly sanitized doesn’t really make for a good animal rights video. Public pressure is of course important for change, but people need to actually take the time to learn about what’s really an issue. Y’all can debate whether or not eating meat is ethical, but that’s not the question here, and it ignores the bigger picture. The fact is, there are animals alive right now and that will be born in the future that are harmed by a shitty system. Personally I’d rather focus on relevant welfare issues to improve their lives rather than comparing factory farming to genocide or whatever scare tactics animal rights groups are using nowadays.
Ferox here.
Following on from that note, comparing animal agriculture to genocide is a particular pet hate of mine. Genocide aims to kill and therefore eliminate a specific group of people, which animal agriculture has caused the populations of domestic animals to boom in far greater numbers than their wild counterparts. The goals are literally opposite.
As vet-and-wild was saying, using a blanket term like ‘factory farm’ isn’t super helpful when discussing animal welfare as it’s specific practices within each enterprise that need to be considered, eg dry sow stalls, debeaking, etc. Generally it’s animal density which concerns me, as the more animals you pack in together the more stress behaviours you see and the less natural behaviours, and chickens and pigs get the worst of this. But it’s hard to make a choice as a consumer purchasing food as you can’t backtrack that food from the supermarket to its origin easily so I can see why the discussion is often boiled down to ‘factory farm vs free range’ even if it’s really more nuanced than that.

Simply Meant To Be (pt 1)
An expansion on this soulmate blurb (no Virgil in this one though)
[part 2]
Rating: teen
Word Count: 2130
Pairings: Roceit, Intrulogical
Warnings: minor swearing
~~~START~~~
Roman is a romantic, that’s just a fact. He loves love. Any day he gets to watch two soulmates meet each other is automatically a good day. The second best day of his life was getting to watch Remus meet their soulmate when they were sixteen. The best day of his life is reserved for when he meets his own soulmate.
It hasn’t happened yet, but it will. One day.
For now, Roman is content with being colorblind (well not content, but he’s learned to not let it bother him too much). Remus and Logan are actually a huge help with that. Logan has even gone as far as to make a list of all of Roman’s clothing and includes a chart of what pieces do and do not go together based on Remus’ (admittedly professional) opinions, and Remus actually went through and labeled all of Roman’s makeup with what color it is and what kind of look it should go with.
Anyone who vaguely knew the twins might think that Remus would use this opportunity to mess with Roman, but Remus knows how much Roman hates being colorblind; they would never lie to Roman about colors — about other things? Sure, but not colors.
Remus and Logan met when Logan moved to their school from Georgia. One day Remus had claimed that there was a trail of color — they would later learn that it was navy blue, Logan’s soon-to-be favorite color — leading from the parking lot, to the main office, to the east wing. They’d chosen to skip first period in order to follow it, having never seen the trail before, and Roman, being unwilling to miss the opportunity to watch his brother meet their soulmate, followed him. Remus had walked right into a physics classroom, and straight for a boy with short curls and thick glasses that Roman had never seen before and declared him their soulmate.
Roman got detention for skipping first period, Remus got a pass on account of meeting their soulmate.
Most people met their soulmates before they turned twenty-five, after all, how difficult can it be when all you have to do is find the trail of color they leave behind them everywhere they go and follow it?
Well, as Roman has learned in his thirty-five years of being alive, it can be pretty freaking difficult.
As children, Roman and Remus had wandered their town far and wide looking for colorful trails, and even after they met Logan, Remus continued to go with Roman as he searched, even if they couldn’t see Roman’s soulmate’s trail themself. As soon as Roman graduated from high school, he took the customary gap year that most everybody who hadn’t met their soulmates yet takes to search for their soulmates.
He never caught a glimpse of anything.
“What if I missed them somehow? What if I saw their trail and just didn’t realize it?” Roman whines one day at his usual Saturday brunch — because they’re adults goddammit — with Remus and Logan.
“You wouldn’t have missed them, Ro bro,” Remus assures him as they do every time Roman starts lamenting about having not met his soulmate yet. “Colors are so unmistakable that there’s no way you’ll miss them.”
“And even if you are genetically colorblind — which is unlikely considering Remus is not,” Logan continues before Roman has a chance to respond. “I have read multiple papers that state that soultrails will still make themselves distinct. There are multiple accounts of the trails emitting light, absorbing light, or even emitting sound. All of that is, of course, on top of the translucent cloud that follows your soulmate’s every move. I find it improbable that you, of all people, would not have noticed a soultrail.”
“Yeah, I know you guys are right,” Roman sighs. “I just want to meet them! I’ve travelled all over the place looking for them, where are they?”
Remus says nothing, which Roman is grateful for because Remus has a habit of saying dark jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood, and Roman really doesn’t need to hear them suggest that his soulmate died in a car crash or something right now. Besides, the question is rhetorical. If Remus could see Roman’s soulmate’s trail, then he’s sure they would have spent the last nineteen years looking for them too.
“Sorry, I guess I brought the mood down,” Roman apologizes. “How are you guys?”
Remus opens their mouth.
“The PG version, please!” Roman rushes to say before Remus can mentally scar him. Again.
Remus closes their mouth again.
Logan rolls his eyes fondly and proceeds to get Roman up to date on all the high school gossip.
“- and of course the middle school’s robotics instructor left suddenly to follow her soulmate to England, so I have taken over as their advisor until a suitable replacement can be hired.”
“How is that?” Roman asks, cringing at the thought of having to deal with middle schoolers. Kids in general kind of freak him out, but middle schoolers especially.
“It has been fine, they are not as adept as my high school students, but of course for many of them this is their introduction to such things, so I’m trying to be patient and supportive.”
Roman snorts at that. He’s sure Logan is a good teacher, but his brother-in-law can be a bit short tempered, and has a habit of talking down to people who don’t understand what he’s trying to tell them.
“Don’t laugh at him!” Remus jumps in to defend their soulmate. “Logan’s great with kids, it’s adults he has a problem with.”
“They are much too old to be as ignorant as they are,” Logan defends himself resolutely.
“Of course they are, Sugar Butt.” Logan cringes slightly at the pet name, which is really all Remus is ever looking for with their pet names.
“Anyway,” Logan says, somewhat forcefully. “There is one student who seems to know what he is doing, but he doubts himself at every turn. I have tried telling him that he is doing everything correctly, but he is… reluctant to trust himself.”
“Maybe as the year goes on he’ll gain confidence,” Remus suggests. Logan hums in acknowledgment, and Roman takes that as the end of talking about Logan’s students. “Oh! Ro bro! Did you hear the theater got a new makeup artist?”
“Finally!” Roman groans, thinking back on their last makeup artist. “I swear Lisa was trying to poke my eyes out every time she did my eyeliner!”
“Oh she probably was,” Remus comments offhandedly. “I told her — back when she first started with the theater — that you thought that makeup artisting was a waste of time.”
“WHAT!?” Roman screeches, gaining the attention of the staff and other patrons.
“Roman,” Logan warns, growing uncomfortable under the curious stares.
“How could you do that to me?” Roman hisses at a much quieter volume. “I never said that! She hated me for five years because of you!”
Remus shrugs, slurping the end of their drink through their straw loudly.
“You better not make the new artist hate me!”
“I would never!” Remus gasps, clutching their heart dramatically.
Roman glares.
“Cross my heart!” Remus insists with a much too innocent expression.
“I hate you.”
Remus just gasps again before dissolving into uncontrollable giggles.
~~~
There isn’t rehearsal on Sunday, so Roman doesn’t have to go in to work. Unfortunately, he is saddled by the knowledge that Remus — as the theater’s costume designer — does have to go in today, and therefore has a whole day to lie to the new makeup artist about him.
Come Monday, all Roman can do is hope that Remus hasn’t done irreparable damage.
“Calm down,” Remus orders when they come to pick Roman up. “They weren’t even in yesterday; I haven’t met them yet.”
“I’m not letting you ruin my relationship with the makeup artist again,” Roman pouts.
“Just try and stop me!” Remus cackles.
Once they reach the theater, Roman practically jumps from the car before Remus has even parked.
“REAL MATURE!” Remus yells after him as he sprints for the theater door.
“THIS ONE IS GOING TO LIKE ME!” Roman yells back.
“NOT IF I MEET THEM FIRST!”
Roman skids to a stop as soon as he reaches the lobby. Not expecting their twin to just be standing there, Remus slams into his back, throwing them both to the ground.
“The fuck, Ro Bro?” Remus demands as they flop off their brother and onto their back.
“I-I see it,” Roman whispers, voice filled with wonder.
“See what?” Remus demands. “The lobby? You’ve seen the lobby bef-oh!”
The awestruck look on Roman’s face finally clicks, and Remus bounces excitedly.
“You see it? Like it it?” Remus scrambles to their feet, dragging Roman up with them. “Where? Which way does it go?”
“It looks like how the sun feels,” Roman says instead of answering. “All light and warm and good.”
“Roman Kingsley you tell me which way your soulmate went this instant!” Remus demands loudly. This is important dammit!
“It goes from there,” Roman points to the side door that’s usually used by staff that take the bus to work. “To there,” the door leading backstage.
“Excellent!” Remus cheers dragging Roman forward. “Time for your date with destiny!”
Remus throws the backstage door open dramatically, but Roman groans as he realizes that his soulmate’s trail is going in literally every direction, making it impossible to know which way they went last.
“Well?” Remus asks expectantly.
“Either my soulmate is familiarizing themself to the theater, or they knew I’d be here and are trying to spite me,” Roman answers somewhat dejectedly. “I can’t tell which trail is freshest.”
“Well shit.” Remus scans each entry as though Roman’s soulmate will just happen to wander in (plausible, considering they’ve trailed all over the theater).
“Hey guys!” A voice calls from by the dressing rooms. The brothers turn to find Thomas, the owner of the theater and their boss.
“Thomas!” Remus cries gleefully. “My absolute favoritest person in the world behind my incredibly sexy soulmate!”
“Okay, so you want something,” Thomas answers with an amused grin. Remus always piles on the compliments when they want something.
“Who’s new today?” Roman asks, more to the point.
“Like, in the theater?” Thomas asks. “Just Janus, the new makeup artist. Why?” Thomas’s eyes widen as if he’s just had a realization. “You’re not going to prank him or something, are you? He’s very talented, I can’t have you scaring him away already!”
“Roman’s soulmate is the new makeup artist? Lame,” Remus pouts. “How am I supposed to trick him into hating Roman?”
“Soulmate?”
“My soulmate is in the building, Thomas!” Roman declares, striking a dashing pose before deflating a little. “Except his trail leads all over the place, I don’t know where he went!”
“Oh… well,” Thomas looks to each direction Janus could have gone, but he clearly doesn’t know which way Janus would have gone. “He said he wanted to get a lay of the land before everyone got here…”
“I got this!” Remus pipes up suddenly before cupping their hands around their mouth like a megaphone and screaming at the top of their lungs. “JANUS!”
“What?” A faint, far-off voice calls back, followed but the sound of hurried footsteps. “Thomas?”
“Dressing rooms!” Thomas calls back.
Footsteps thunder down the stairs, and all too soon a man appears on them.
The first time you lay eyes on your soulmate, you begin to see the world in color. Everyone’s experience is different: Remus said that as soon as he laid eyes on Logan, the world exploded violently into vibrant shades. Logan said that colors appeared one at time, quickly, but slow enough for him to notice. Roman’s mom said that her soulmate’s trail swelled to fill the space before things slowly began to take on their proper color, and his mama said that it was almost like everything had always had color, she just hadn’t bothered to notice before.
For Roman, the man before him is painted in vibrant shades while the background remains in grayscale, but as soon as the man makes eye contact, his colors begin to slowly bleed throughout the space.
The man’s eyes widen as he stares, slack-jawed at Roman — no doubt mirroring Roman’s own expression.
“I’m Roman,” Roman says quickly, before Remus can forever ruin his first meeting with his soulmate by making a dick joke or something.
The man smiles and Roman immediately decides that his favorite color is whatever this guy’s eyes are — they’re hazel, but Roman will later change his favorite color to red after realizing how stunning and bold the color is when it isn’t just another shade of gray.
“Janus.”

Downsides of Thievery Pt. 3
~ Previous Part ~ Next Part ~
Going through the portal from one dimension to another felt as simple as walking through a door. There was no flash of light, no weird tingly sensation all over Gavin’s body, no “welcome to a new dimension” announcement; Gavin could almost believe he was still back home...were it not for the fact that every single thing around him was mega sized.
Trees as tall as skyscrapers loomed overhead, and although he was looking down on them from Rael’s hip height, Gavin could still tell that even the wildflowers sticking out of the ground would be taller than him. He swore he even saw a chipmunk the size of a car scurrying up the side of a tree.
Suddenly, Gavin felt almost glad he was secured inside a cage. As much as he hated being confined, right now he didn’t feel like he could handle being out in the open, not with a bunch of big ass woodland creatures roaming about. Being attached to a big ass dude was bad enough.
Though he couldn’t see it from his current position, Gavin figured the portal they’d come through must have gone away, judging by the abrupt disappearance of the soft blue glow that the portal had been giving off a moment ago. “I’m officially closed off from the rest of humanity,” Gavin’s brain helpfully reminded him.
Glancing upward, Gavin caught Rael throwing him a brief look as if to ensure his captive was still there. The teal eyes examined him for only a moment before they returned to looking forward.
Gavin sighed. As intimidating as Rael was, he knew he couldn’t avoid talking to the guy forever. For one, he needed to ask his captor where exactly he was being taken, because in the middle of the woods hadn’t been what he’d been expecting. Gavin was admittedly not all that knowledgeable about alteon customs, but he was pretty sure they mostly lived in cities and towns.
Before Gavin even got the chance to mentally prepare himself for the prospect of addressing the alteon, he was bucked forward by the movement of the giant leg behind him.
Once again lying at the bottom of the cage, Gavin groaned. He was really beginning to sympathize with hamsters, lizards, and other handheld pets. Getting tossed around in a cage really sucked. Although, he figured most pets would be handled more carefully by their owners than Rael was currently handling him.
Every other step the aleton took jarred Gavin’s cage, meaning there was zero point in trying to stand up because he’d just be thrown to the floor again in an instant. Instead, he opted for sitting in the back with his arms wrapped around the iron bars for stability. It was still an unpleasant experience, but at least this way he could spare himself a few extra aches and pains.
About five minutes passed by and Rael continued to make his way silently through the forest. He clearly had no intention of striking up a conversation, which meant the task fell on Gavin. “Just picture him in his underwear,” he thought to himself, but then quickly realized that trick only worked on normal sized people. Picturing Rael in his underwear would only make Gavin feel both afraid and uncomfortable. “Okay…just imagine he’s not gigantic then.”
Gavin tilted his head back so he was looking up towards Rael’s face, however from the angle he was at, he could only really see the underside of the man’s jaw. “Yeeeah, kind of hard to imagine he’s not huge when I have to almost break my neck just to see his face.” After taking a deep, steadying breath, Gavin opened his mouth to speak.
-
Were Rael someone well learned in the magical arts, he could have easily teleported both himself and his human charge to the palace. However, as things were, he had no choice but to travel on foot through the woods that surrounded the city of Ostrad.
Rael didn’t necessarily mind a little hiking, but having to walk back to the city added on about an extra hour to the assignment he never wanted in the first place. He blew out an inaudible sigh, ignoring the way the cage hooked onto his belt repeatedly bumped against his thigh as he walked. At least the human had kept quiet so far, as long as it remained that way--
“Hey, uh--Rael?” The unexpected sound of the human’s voice nearly caused Rael to stop in his tracks. He paused for a moment but quickly recovered and continued making his way forward.
Rael flicked his eyes downwards for just a moment and saw that the human was looking up at him expectantly. Half because he didn’t want to end up running into anything, and half because he didn’t want to give the human the satisfaction of getting his attention, Rael quickly went back to looking forward. “What is it?” he responded reluctantly, making no effort to hide his irritation.
“Well--um, I was just wondering where we’re headed,” said the human nervously. Rael had been a little surprised when he found out that humans didn’t have high, squeaky little voices that fit their size. Instead, their voices were essentially normal, though much quieter than that of an alteon. This was something Rael was grateful for. While it would have been briefly amusing if the humans squeaked like mice, Rael had no doubt he would quickly tire of it.
“I’m delivering you to the Emperor at the palace,” Rael stated tersely. Surely the human could have deduced that on his own.
There was a pause, and Rael hoped that would be the end of the discussion, but evidently the human had other plans. “Right but uh--why didn’t we just...portal straight there?” he asked.
Rael rolled his eyes. He didn’t know whether it was all humans or just this one in particular, but there was certainly an air of obliviousness emanating from Gavin Stone. “The portal needs to be distant enough from civilization in the event intruders manage to slip through somehow,” Rael explained slowly, as though he were speaking to a child.
Honestly, the precaution of keeping portals isolated seemed as though it was more for the sake of protecting the humans that might come through than any alteons. Prior to departing for this assignment, Rael had been educated in all the ways humans could potentially bring harm to alteons. The list was quite short, and mostly involved large weapons of mass destruction, which were apparently not widely available in the human realm.
A thoughtful hum came from the caged human. “I guess that makes sense, though I can’t imagine any human intentionally trying to come here,” he commented. He seemed to be gaining some confidence in his speech and no longer stumbled over his words, much to Rael’s annoyance. The last thing he needed was for his captive to start getting talkative.
“Believe me, we don’t want humans here either,” Rael retorted. Perhaps he was speaking from his own opinion more so than that of the general population of his dimension, but he wasn’t about to tell Gavin Stone that.
-
Gavin narrowed his eyes at Rael’s comment. If he didn’t know any better, he might say that his captor wasn’t all too fond of humans. He had to wonder what the alteon’s past experience with humans had been. Was Gavin the first he’d met? Had he really made that bad of a first impression? “Oh yeah, I sprinted away from him full speed,” Gavin reminded himself.
People not liking him was not an unfamiliar thing for Gavin. Admittedly, he maybe didn’t have the best verbal filter, and had the unfortunate tendency to blurt out whatever popped into his head. He had been fired from his first job at a movie theater for accidentally calling his manager a “lazy dickwad” within said manager’s earshot. He had gotten sent to the principal’s office in third grade for letting it slip to another kid that Santa wasn’t real. And Gavin knew it was only a matter of time before he said something to Rael that really pissed off the giant.
If Gavin were smart, he would just keep his mouth shut. It was obviously what Rael would have preferred. The only problem was, Gavin wasn’t smart. Smart people became doctors, settled down with a sweet spouse, and moved into a fancy house in the suburbs. Smart people did not become thieves who stole from literal giants.
“So uh--are you like the Emperor’s delivery guy then?” Gavin asked. He didn’t really know where he was hoping the conversation would go or what he hoped to accomplish, but running his mouth felt familiar. If he stayed quiet he’d just end up wallowing in his own anxiety and fear.
Rael shot Gavin a quick, sharp look. “I am a member of the Imperial Guard, not a ‘delivery guy’,” he snipped, clearly not fond of Gavin’s insinuation.
Gavin didn’t really know what being in the “Imperial Guard” entailed, though he supposed it had a fancy enough name. Honestly, it kind of sounded like something out of Star Wars, though he wasn’t going to mention that to Rael considering the guy probably didn’t even know what a movie was.
“So did they specially choose--” Gavin’s sentence was interrupted midway through by an annoyed huff from Rael.
“There is no need for us to converse. So unless you have something crucial to say, I recommend you keep quiet,” the alteon stated coldly.
Despite Rael’s less than friendly tone, and the fact that it was a colossus of a man saying it, Gavin did not intend on keeping quiet. A familiar desire to be contrary was rising up in him. His mom had always called it his “urge to be a complete pain in the ass.”
Gavin didn’t necessarily want to intentionally piss off his captor, he didn’t want to make an enemy of the alteon. That would be stupid even for him. However, Gavin wasn’t about to roll over and behave like a good little boy. He was a criminal, following the rules was basically the antithesis of who he was. No, Gavin was going to talk to Rael whether the elf looking son of a bitch liked it or not.

Food Poisoning
Is this..actual content? Damn who would have thought that would happen again 💀🤣
For a bit of context, this is set before Olivia came to Nicolas, actually her last 'owner' before him.
psh psh @darklyria, come simp for the Evil bastard Man~
CW: Poisoning/Drugging, Starvation, Vomiting, begging, creepy/intimate whumper, noncon touching (non sexual), pet whump (if I forgot anything, please let me know and I will add it!)
5 days. It had been 5 days since Olivia had last eaten.
She was laying on her back on the wooden floor, staring at the ceiling, trying to ignore the aching emptiness in her stomach, another wave of nausea washing over her, causing her to tightly close her eyes.
Deep breaths.
Easier said than done, considering the just slightly too tight collar around her neck. Not quite tight enough to fully cut off her airflow but enough to cause her breathing to be labored and shaking lightly. She tried to swallow but her mouth was completely dried out, leaving an almost stale taste behind.
At the door stood two people, a man and a woman.Olivia didn’t need to turn her head to know that they were there. She didn’t know their names or maybe she had known them at some point and just forgotten.
Either way it didn’t matter, they never did anything to help her anyways. Just stood there, watching. Making sure she didn’t try anything stupid.
These times were still the closest she came to having some peace, the closest she came to being alone. But they never lasted long.
As if on command she heard awfully familiar footsteps approaching. Confident, determined and almost..relaxed in a way.
Olivia shivered, both from the dreadful anticipation as well as the almost numbing cold she had been feeling for the past days.
She tried to somehow prepare herself for what was about to come, knowing full well it wouldn’t have any use anyways.
As the door opened and a tall, blond man in a casually expensive looking white shirt walked in, Olivia had just managed to at least half sit up, still mainly leaning on her hand and elbow. Something about the man caused all the attention to immediately shift towards him, something he was clearly very aware of.
He was grinning, there was something smug about it, that made Olivia want to punch him, but since that wasn’t exactly possible she instead resorted to glaring dagger at him, only causing his smile to only get even more amused.
“Aw, well someone doesn’t look happy to see me…”
Clenching her jaw Olivia tried to push herself up a bit more, but failed because of the weakness in her muscles. “Yeah I wonder why.”
Nathan just laughed at that, putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans. “What’s wrong Princess, not in a good mood today?” The ‘nickname’ made her skin crawl and she wasn’t sure if the next wave of nausea came from hunger or pure disgust by the man looking down on her.
She didn’t bother responding, which he didn’t seem to care about too much. He stepped a bit closer, crouching down in front of her and firmly grabbing her chin, causing her to instinctively pull away. “Ah, ah, ah, what did I say about pulling away from me, hm?” His voice was still calm but she didn’t miss the warning undertone in it causing her to immediately freeze.
He chuckled lightly to himself, lightly brushing his thumb over her chin, causing a feeling of discomfort and disgust to send a shiver down her spine. “That’s what I thought,” he made a gesture to the man standing at the door, causing him to move out of Olivia’s view, leaving her a bit uneasy as Nathan started talking again, “Well, I actually have something that might cheer you up a bit Princess~”.
She felt her heart drop, her eyes immediately going wider. That never meant anything good…
A few seconds later the broader man appeared again, handing Nathan something she instantly recognised, only increasing the feeling of unease in her chest and causing the hairs on her arms to stand up.
“No! Get that..fucking thing away from me!” Rapidly shaking her head and almost crawling backwards, she stared at the short, black leash in his hand. The man in front of her just smirked at her reaction, a hint of impatience.
“Hm, I see someone’s decided to be… difficult today, hm pet?”, he leaned back a bit, lightly tapping has chin as if he was considering something, looking towards the man next to him, “I am not sure if such an ungrateful pet deserves to eat after all…”
At his last words Olivia's head immediately snapped up, a sudden feeling of desperation taking over her, still awfully aware of her empty stomach. “No, please I’m sorry I-”, his head turned towards her, lightly raising an eyebrow with an expectant grin on his face. For a moment she stayed silent, her mouth feeling even more dried out than before, swallowing hard and as a result feeling the tight collar press into her throat. She knew exactly what he wanted to hear and even though a part of her wanted anything but to give in to him, the bigger, more present and louder part was desperate, willing to do anything to just get something to eat.
“P-please Sir...I’m sorry I…”, she closed her eyes for a moment, almost forcing the words out, “I’ll be good Sir, I promise, please!” Her cheeks burned from embarrassment and humiliation but as she opened her eyes again and saw the satisfied smile on his face, she knew that it had been convincing enough.
“Hm, I love hearing you beg like this… So desperate, aren’t you princess?” Olivia bit the inside of her lip so hard that the faint taste of blood filled her mouth but she nodded, her eyes glued to the ground. “Y-yes Sir…”
“Good pet.”
About 45 minutes later, Olivia could finally remember what it was like to not feel hungry again, almost allowing her to relax a bit.
She lightly glanced up to Nathan who was sitting in a chair at the head of a conference room-like table, calmly listening to the other Man around the table talking and discussing. Despite the fact that she was kneeling next to him, the humiliation burning through her, she almost felt...grateful.
As if it hadn’t been Nathan who had starved her in the first place.
Suddenly a wave of dizziness came over her, prompting her to close her eyes for a moment, trying to fight the dazed feeling, not thinking too much of it.
The sudden feeling of a hand in her hair made her flinch, her eyes instinctively flying open, from the corner of her eye noticing the light smirk on the Man’s face.
She let out a breath, trying her best to just ignore it and focus on something else.
Only a few minutes later she once again started feeling light-headed, more severe than the first time, causing her to suck in a sharp breath, catching Nathan’s attention again.
“Everything alright dear?” His voice sounded almost concerned, if Olivia’s mind hadn’t been so woozy she would have picked up on the fake sincerity behind it. As it was though, she just nodded slowly, suddenly feeling nauseous, her eyes going wide, shifting on her knees.
Nathan chuckled lightly to himself, tightening the grip in her hair lightly, but she barely even registered it over the sudden stabbing pain in her stomach, letting out a pained gasp.
She quickly shut her eyes again, the nausea and dizziness getting worse by the second. It felt like the whole room was spinning, the floor underneath her shifting and turning, leaving her dazed and disoriented.
What the hell…
What she couldn’t see was the cruel smile spreading across Nathan's face as he leaned back in his chair, watching Olivia. More to himself, not loud enough for Olivia to hear, he chuckled lightly “Well that worked faster than I expected… “. He gestured to one of his ‘assistants’, signaling him to walk over to him.
"Yeah, Boss?" Nathan didn't even so much as turn his head, his eyes fixated on his pet, who's gaze was getting more glossy and distant. "Take my pet back to my room, I'll be there as soon as this here is done. Until then you stay with her and watch her. Wouldn't want to risk any...more permanent damage."
The man Paused for a Moment, getting a mildly confused look on his face, frowning lightly. "Uh… With all due respect Sir, you want me to play Babysitter?".
At that Nathan turned to him, raising an eyebrow "Is there a Problem? James, isn't it?", as the other nodded he continued talking, "Now I understand it that you're new here, so let me explain something to you. If I say something, you do it, you don't question me, you don't give any comments on it, you simply Follow the Order. I pay you enough for you to simply do that, don't you Think?" His voice had gotten colder now, a clear warning to not test his patience any further.
James nodded quickly, clearly a bit more intimidated now. "Oh yes of course Boss. Sorry." He lightly cleared bis throat and Nathan just nodded swiftly, turning his attention back to the men at the Table whose conversation had fallen quiet, the attention turned towards the Man sitting at the head of the Table. "Excuse me Gentlemen, just something small I had to take care of, please continue".
As the conversation slowly started again, the taller Man, James, Walked around the Chair, harshly grabbing Olivia's arm and pulling her up. The sudden motion combined with the nearly overwhelming dizziness caused her to stumble and almost fall, reflexively reaching out to the nearest surface, in that case the armrest of Nathan's chair, grabbing onto it as though her life was dependent on it.
Without turning around, Nathan put a Hand on Olivia's back, something that would have normally made her skin crawl but she was almost grateful for now.
"Careful. I would hate for you to damage my property."
By the time they were back in the bedroom, Olivia was sure that she was dying.
Every part of her body was taken over by an aching, hot pain, making her feel like she was burning from the inside out.
Her stomach felt like it was being cut open from the inside by a thousand tiny knives, leaving her almost breathless. In Addition to that she felt a burning fire build up behind her eyes, Lifting her arms up with a groan and pressing her Hands against her temples, granting a short Relief of the burning heat.
That Relief only lasted until the overwhelming nausea caused her to empty the insides of her stomach into the Toilet in front of her.
She couldn't remember how she even got to the bathroom floor but at that Moment she also didn't have the energy to Think about it, as the bitter taste of bile made her gag again, despite her stomach being completely emptied out.
Hot tears were running down her face, a ragged sob shaking up her whole body. She let herself drop to the cold floor, savouring the short alleviation of the cold, pulling her knees up to her chest, hoping for any sort of relief to the pain. But it never came. If anything, it just got worse the more time passed, making her feel like her insides were twisting and turning in cruel agony.
As a sudden, almost stabbing feeling went through her she wanted to scream, but her body was too worn out to bring up the energy, only managing a broken whimper. Olivia once again screwed her eyes shut, hoping that she might at least pass out so the pain would stop.
While she collapsed on the floor, James was standing in the doorway, his back turned away from her, frowning in annoyance. He hadn’t been paying too much attention to what exactly she was doing, still irritated about the fact that he had to ‘babysit’ now.
He scoffed, shaking his head lightly and crossed his arms in front of his chest, half glaring at the door across the room.
If I had known that this was part of the job I would have thought twice before taking it…
At the sound of a broken sob he turned around, narrowing his eyes but instantly freezing at the sight before him.
The girl, or 'pet' as his Boss referred to her, was lying on the stone tiles curled up in a fetal position, her breathing unsteady and interrupted by muffled sobs, her whole body trembling and shaking.
He felt his stomach drop, a sickening feeling spreading throughout his body. From the others he had heard about how his new Boss treated his ‘pets’, that it was just to be ignored, but this was the first time he had witnessed it first hand.
James didn’t even know her name and yet he felt awful seeing her lying there, her pale face almost matching the colour of the tiles her head was resting on and the pained whimpers escaping her throat.
But he knew that there wasn’t anything he could do to help her, no matter how much he wanted to. The others had warned him about that too, it would easily cost him his job if not worse and at the end of the day, it would only make things worse for her as well.
So all he did was stand there, watching her with an almost overwhelming feeling of helplessness.
About 10 minutes later, the bedroom door opened and the tall blond Man stepped through, a relaxed smile on his face. James had turned around again, not bearing the sight of the girl suffering any longer.
As Nathan walked towards him, his smile only seemed to widen, causing James to feel sick. How could he seem so...happy while another person was clearly in misery? He shivered lightly, keeping his gaze on the wall across from him.
Nathan glanced at him lightly from the side, smirking. “Now, was ‘babysitting’ really so bad?” James didn’t respond but the other Man clearly didn’t really look for an answer anyways, walking past him and crouching down in front of the girl who was still trembling violently.
If he hadn't known better, James would have thought that the way Nathan looked down on her was almost… caring. But that was only until he saw the sadistic amusement in his eyes, as he brushed a strand of hair that was sticking to the sweat drenching her forehead, to the side.
"You can leave now." He didn't turn around as he gave the command and James didn't hesitate to leave the room, not turning back once.
Olivia could feel the light touch, too exhausted even so much as flinch. She heard him chuckle lightly but it felt as though the Sound was muffled through a thick veil.
"Please…", her voice was barely above a whisper, shaking and unsteady, "Please, Sir I-i'm sorry, I-i-i..i'll be good, I promise!".
Another Wave of pain shot through her, forcing out a broken sob. "Please...please just m-make it s-stop...It hurts…"
Nathan just watched her with increasing satisfaction, fully enjoying seeing her broken down like that. "Oh you're so pretty begging and crying for me like this princess…"
Chuckling lightly to himself, he tilted his head to the side a bit. "Let's get you somewhere a bit more comfortable, hm?"
The last thing Olivia became aware of, was the feeling of someone picking her up, instinctively grabbing onto Nathan's shoulder for support to fight the new wave of lightheadedness before closing her eyes again, the darkness finally taking over and letting her escape into the temporary safety of unconsciousness.

"Hey," came a voice. When Rowe didn’t immediately wake up, a slap landed across his face. It ground the muzzle deeper into his flesh and forced him awake, wide-eyed and cowering. He was lucky to be spoken to first, of course. Usually he’d be hit without any warning. "Wake up Mutt. You’re finished here."
. . .
"Why couldn’t he come meet me in the waiting room?" Tomas asked the orderly.
"The exit is just this way. We find that most Pet owners like to be discrete in this kind of situation."
The ‘discrete’ room was divided into small curtained cubicles. The orderly left without a word after pointing Tomas towards Rowe, and Tomas was grateful for that at least. Rowe looked horrific. His wrists were strapped into a wheelchair- like he had any intention of running away, given the splint fixed around his left leg. His head flopped to one side, eyes closed, and a thick muzzle was clamped over poor Rowe’s face. His Rowe, that someone had bound and muzzled and hurt. The surge of protectiveness scared Tomas. It felt too close to ownership.
He went to take a closer look at Rowe’s legs, when a hand appeared in his line of sight. Tomas shook it without thinking.
"Hello, you must be the owner. Mr… Grzegorzewski? I’m Dr Scarlett Easton, and this is Dr Jacob Clerval."
"Ah, pleased to meet you both," Tomas said weakly. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Rowe’s head twitch. He’s awake, then. "He was bad enough to need two doctors, then?"
Rowe flinched, ever so slightly, at the word bad.
"He? Aw, that’s quite cute," smiled Dr Easton. Tomas wished everyone would stop commenting on that. "Dr Clerval here is quite new, so he’s been observing. We thought he might be needed, but only one leg was broken, as it happens. We’ve put it in a splint. The other one just needed stitches."
"Right, that’s good then. And the restraints, I… was he being troublesome?"
Tomas chanced a glance in Rowe’s direction. His eyes were full and apologetic, and Tomas wanted to reassure him that everything was okay, but he couldn’t. Not yet.
"Spoke out of turn."
"Mm. But we could get the arms down without a problem. So there’s hope still," the young doctor said with a smile. Tomas realised a few seconds too late that he was making a joke. It felt too weird to speak about Rowe like he wasn’t even in the room. Discussing him without letting him have a say in the matter. Rowe, of course, looked completely used to it. He sat perfectly still, and it only angered Tomas more. It was normal! Rowe was on his best behaviour despite being muzzled like a bad dog because he’d be hurt if he wasn’t, and that was just normal and expected and understood. It made Tomas’s blood boil. He needed to get Rowe home.
. . .
Rowe’s heart jumped when he heard Master’s voice. The painful fog lifted. Master Master Master. He was here. He didn’t abandon Rowe. He was here and that was worth any punishment he’d give out when Rowe got home. He didn’t remember ever being so happy to see his old master, but he didn’t dwell on that. Master, they fixed my legs. Please take me back home. You said I can have wants. I want to go back home and serve you and let you do whatever you want to me.
The two doctors were talking about Rowe, and Master glanced over a few times, but not to look at Rowe’s legs. He was looking into Rowe’s eyes, staring at him from under his blond curls and Rowe couldn’t understand because that wasn’t where he’d been hurt. He wanted to survey the work the doctors had done, right?
"Okay, thank you," said Master, and his voice was so familiar, so calm and clear and measured, and even through his shame Rowe’s spirits lifted. "I don’t think this wheelchair will be necessary from now on, thanks."
. . .
"That’s handy, because we need it back anyway. And the muzzle."
Tomas tried to act like someone who didn’t care because he had one at home anyway. Rowe kept his eyes down as his mouth was released and again Tomas just wanted to scream at them, because for goodness sake he’s bleeding, and it was fastened over a barely-healed broken nose, and you’re all acting like it doesn’t fucking matter.
"Have you brought a cage for it?"
"If you haven’t brought a cage then he will need carrying, sir."
"That’s- I can get him home fine, thanks."
"Whatever," Tomas muttered, scooping Rowe into his arms without a second thought. He was still light even with the addition of the splint. Rowe didn’t react except to bury his face into Tomas’s neck as he turned on his heel and left.
"Hey, Rowe," he said gently as soon as they were outside. "How do you feel, pal?"
"M-Master," he said weakly.
"I’m here, I promise. Does it hurt?"
"It d-doesn’t matter…"
No Master for once. That was probably not a good sign, right now. "Can you tell me anyway?" Tomas was careful to avoid sounding like Rowe was being rude, or disobedient, or forcing him to tell him out of fear.
"U-uh, it hurts on m-my legs, M-Master. And m-my face."
"From the muzzle, right? Little bastards. I never said they could do that to you."
"I s-spoke without permission, Master."
"Well, I like it when you speak. I like hearing what you have to say." He kept his tone matter-of-fact. Rowe shuddered against his chest, and it could have been a laugh. Yes, I suppose that isn’t said to Pets very often. "And your poor legs. Well, we’re going to try this out, but let me know if it doesn’t work, okay?"
Tomas gently hoisted Rowe onto his back, climbing onto his bicycle very carefully. Rowe clung on; his frail arms hooked over Tomas’s shoulders and the brittle scabs forming over Rowe’s newest cuts tickled his jaw. This is fucking stupid.
"I’ll go slowly," Tomas promised, pushing the bike into motion and vowing never to go back to that wretched place.
. . .
Rowe savoured the last few moments, tucked protectively against his owner’s chest, before they got home and his punishment started. He had wasted Master’s time, he had spoken without permission, he had got blood everywhere upstairs, he was ugly, he was useless, and he was due a punishment. He was due more pain until he was a pitiful, twitching wreck, sobbing that he’d never trouble Master like that again. This was all he could think as he was carried into the house and- not dropped on the floor, as he’d expected, but placed onto the sofa. But- but- Pets couldn’t-
"You’re allowed on the sofa," Master Tomas said, like he’d read Rowe’s mind. "You’re always allowed. But right now, I don’t want any argument, okay?"
Rowe nodded nervously, and didn’t resist as Master unclipped the collar from around his neck. It was insolent and rude and selfish, but Rowe had got used to life without one. He tried to sit up and be pretty, but he was still faint and clumsy with pain.
"H-hurts, Master. M-my legs hurt."
"Rowe?" Master asked, and Rowe’s heart sank because of course, Master would notice immediately. Pets were too stupid to hide things from their Master. The truth always came out, eventually. "You doing okay?"
A pause. "They did… you got painkillers right, Rowe? They gave you anaesthetic?"
Rowe shook his head and immediately Master’s eyes darkened with rage. Wrong answer.
"What the fuck?" Master cried. Rowe flinched. He knew what that tone predated. "No, I’m not- I’m not angry with you. I’ll get you some painkillers."
"P-please, it’s n-not wasted on Pets," Rowe protested weakly, even though he knew Pets never argued with their Master. What was he thinking? Besides, he still opened his mouth obediently when Master approached him with two small pills and some water.
"Okay," he exhaled. Master crouched before him and took Rowe by the hand, ever so gently. Rowe still felt ice run through him at the contact, expecting him to clamp and wrench and pull, but he didn’t.
. . .
I have to do it, thought Tomas as he looked at Rowe. …but I don’t have to do it tonight.
. . .
"Rowe," Master began as he often did, and Rowe liked being reminded that he was important enough to be named. It made him feel wanted.
(made him feel like a person) (no it didn’t)
Master was looking at him so warmly that it made Rowe just want to shy away because he hadn’t earned this kindness. Why was Master even here? What did he want? Why was he here if not to get something from Rowe- to punish him for causing such a fuss?
"When people get hurt, it’s important to be extra nice to them. This doesn’t mean that you can only have nice things if you take pain first, okay?"
"O-okay, Master." But what does that matter?
"I want to do whatever you want tonight. Anything at all. I know having wants is still new, so this is a good chance to try them out." Master ran his thumb over Rowe’s hand. His fingers weren’t rough like old master’s were. They were soft. "Wanting something won’t make me angry. I won’t get angry, I won’t laugh at you, I won’t ignore you."
"I can want s-something?" Rowe timidly confirmed. "I’m not being punished?"
The worst case scenario flitted before his eyes, as it always did- Master’s grip turns painful and he smacks beats hits kicks whips burns hates me and it was all a cruel joke- but it didn’t linger, it didn’t make him seize up. It-
It passed. And all that happened was Master nodded.
"I want-" Rowe’s breath hitched. He knew what he wanted. He couldn’t believe he was even capable of wanting. And now that it wasn’t a dream, or a private thought, the desperation came crashing into him almost too fast to keep up with. It tore and wrenched and made him ache. "Please- please p-pet me, Master, please hold me and ruffle m-m-my hair. I want to b-be held so badly. Please."
. . .
Oh, Rowe, Tomas thought, feeling his heart break once again. I’ve really been cruel to you, haven’t I?
"Of course, pal, of course," he said gently, sitting down next to Rowe and putting an arm around him. "Why don’t you lean on me and get comfortable?"
It felt wrong, Tomas couldn’t deny that, it felt so wrong to let this small, traumatised human rest his head on Tomas’s chest and be pet like a- well, like a Pet. But he also couldn’t deny the way Rowe softened against him. Sure, Rowe went limp a lot, his training making him unresisting and pliable, but this was different. Tomas worked the fingers of his free hand into Rowe’s hair and stroked, all the way down to the top of his spine and back to his crown. Rowe let out a shuddering breath, like all the defences he’d had to keep raised since Tomas got him were being lowered, just for tonight.
The words kept dying on his lips, but Tomas promised himself that if Rowe didn’t respond then he wouldn’t say them again. "You’re- you’re a good boy, Rowe."
Another shudder, and a sniff. Rowe’s face pressed harder into Tomas.
"Such a good boy. You were so brave today."
And then- Rowe’s shoulders trembled, in the way Tomas had quickly learnt they only did when Rowe was crying silently.
"Th-thank you," Rowe whispered between sobs. "Thank y-you so much, Master."
"I mean it," he soothed. "You are so good, Rowe. I’m happy I have you as a Pet."
It was a confession to himself as much as it was a comfort for Rowe. The words sank in, for both of them. Rowe’s crying didn’t abate, and Tomas felt a few tears of his own drip down his face. They landed perfectly on the hand in Rowe’s hair. That’s for the best. Proper Masters don’t cry over their Pets.
Tomas couldn’t help it. All his anger at the hospital had settled into sadness. He wasn’t being selfish. Rowe so desperately needed to feel safe and comforted, even if by morning he would be back to his usual fearful servitude. But Tomas also wanted to drop the pretence, just for a night, and let himself be kind and gentle without confusing his poor precious Pet.
He continued stroking his hair until Rowe fell asleep, his head rising and falling in unison with Tomas’s slow breaths.

Barking Morning
Rating: G/K+
Word Count: 1,741
Pairing: Chloe Beale/Beca Mitchell
Summary: In which Chloe is livid, Beca is defensive, and a beagle is happily barking away.
B/C. One-shot. Fluff. Neighbors AU.
Excerpt:
Her fingers pull at the gate at the corner of the sidewalk, and she swings it open, striding right in, “Hey!”
A woman about her age looks up from her crouch at the inside of her sliding glass door, her hands halting in their gesture at beckoning her pet forward, and Chloe’s feet falters at the sight of startled blue eyes meeting her gaze.
The beagle that had been making its happy way back towards its owner perks up at the sound and turns its head, its tail wagging like crazy as another bark permeates the air at the sight of its distraction.
“Yeah?” Her neighbor’s voice is skeptical and wary and just at the beginnings of being defensive as her eyes lose its spark of surprise and roves over her livid figure.
Chloe’s heart pounds at the gesture and then her feet are resuming its vehement traipse forwards because as if adding insult to injury, her neighbor is attractive and if she wasn’t so freaking mad, she would’ve smiled and flirted and tried to make her acquaintance, and surely someone that attractive would’ve at least had the decency to consider the insensitivity of her actions, “Next time let your dog out after the early hours of the day, will you? Some people have to sleep and get up in the morning to go to school.”
On ao3 or ff.net or here... (cuz it’s short)
Chloe had never been so livid over something so stupid.
She is generally a relaxed and pretty laid back individual, always have been and hopefully still will be (after this one incident of course), and have always allowed things to slide off her shoulders and not be taken personally, have always smiled away an “it’s fine” and continued on her merry way.
So this proves to be a highly unusual case of her losing her mind, and combined with the fact that it had been over something so stupid, she is now positively vibrating with rage by the time she’s done trying to suppress and ignore the strong but rare emotion.
Like, who the hell allows their stupid dog outside at freaking six in the morning and then not say or do anything when he/she/it starts and then continues barking it’s freaking head off non-stop at something that’s probably completely unjustifiable and not even consider the fact that it might be a high inconvenience and annoyance to the neighbor next door?
She is a freaking med student darn it, and she has a big potentially life changing exam in just a couple hours and she has had enough with the inconsideration and the barking and the suppression of her rare lividity at the expense of herself trying to be a good and reasonable human being.
Which is saying something else, because her neighbor—whomever he or she may be—is certainly not receiving the memo or even trying to reciprocate the gesture as well.
Tightening the knot of the bathrobe at her waist and trying to not growl like the dog just outside her bedroom window, Chloe stomps to her front door and throws it open, and doesn't bother to close it as she continues on her way into her neighbor’s backyard. She knows that her hair’s mussed and her feet’s bare and she’s practically naked under her robe and that her mom would probably freak if she went to greet some stranger in her current state of undress, but she could really not care less as she storms down the walkway at the side of the house that she had recently inherited from her deceased grandparents, her feet landing on cool paved stone and then soft green grass as she reaches the half wall separating her backyard from her neighbor’s.
“Come on, buddy, time to come inside!”
Oh great, now her neighbor decides to do something, when the damage was already well and done and she was already awake and on her way to give her neighbor a piece of her mind.
An eyebrow rises into chocolate brown hair and Chloe briefly notes that her neighbor is adorably a couple inches shorter even though she is still standing behind the threshold, “I hadn’t realized that six in the morning is considered early,” she says, crossing her arms.
Her beagle bounds up to her stop in front of the frowning brunette and barks at her feet, and Chloe tries not to eye at the soft coat of its fur and marvel at the small patch of black on its otherwise white and tan body, “It’s early enough for me to get pissed off when your dog won’t stop barking at whatever it was that it had been barking at and ruin any chance for me to go back to sleep.”
“Well, I’m sorry if it’s such an inconvenience for you that this is the only time that I can let him out before I go to work, and that you hate dogs enough to storm into my backyard in your robe and yell at me for letting him have some air before locking him up for hours on end,” she replies, shifting her weight onto one foot and leaning against the side of her sliding glass door.
Chloe sputters at the assumption and audacity of the short brunette to turn this on to her, “I don’t hate dogs; I was a vet student before I dropped out in favor of medicine!”
“I can’t imagine why.” Her tone is dry and sarcastic as her gaze travels over her robe clad figure once more, and Chloe is certain that her skin had by now turned into a shade of red rivaling that of her hair, for reasons not particular to her burning antagonism.
Before she could open her mouth for her next words however, the beagle at her feet rubs its head on her calves and twirls between her legs, tongue sticking out to lick at her shins in excitement and happiness, tail wagging enough to shake its entire rear end, and Chloe is delightedly distracted. Immediately, a laugh bubbles its way out of her chest and she shuffles her feet, trying to relieve herself of the tickling sensation and momentarily losing her hold onto her irritation.
“Guetta, stop.”
At the two word request, Chloe snaps her head up from the enthusiastic beagle and raises her brows in shock, “Guetta? You named your dog after an artist?”
A flash of interest crosses her neighbor’s face before it dissipates, her expression schooling back into neutral blankness, “Yeah, so what? Is that a problem for you as well?”
The thing about being usually laid back and rarely mad enough to lose her crap in front of a complete stranger is that it only lasts for a split second, and that once it was all done and settled and dealt with, she is back to being her usual serene self, curious about this woman who works at six in the morning and who is sarcastic in the most inopportune of times and who owns an overly energetic beagle and who names it after one of her all time favorite artists in the entire world. So she now bites her lip and steps forward, her fingers fiddling with the clasps of her robe, “Are you kidding? I love David Guetta; his song Titanium is my jam. My lady jam.”
She looks stunned at the sudden change of demeanor and subject and Chloe grins as she watches her arm uncross to run through chocolate curls, steely gaze darting away, “Oh. That’s...nice.”
“Yeah.” They make eye contact yet again, this time with none of the earlier animosity and mockery between them, and Chloe finally lets herself appreciate the angle of her cheekbones, the tattoo on her shoulder, the subtle curve of her nose, the pink glossiness of her lips. Her grin widens into a full on smile when her neighbor’s blank slate of a face cracks into an expression of tentative amusement, and she takes another step forward, toes curling in the grass, about to make another comment about her precise fondness for the song when a jubilant yip rises from her feet.
She had almost forgotten about the dog, about the subject of their less than pleasant meeting and now the subject of their more than promising connection, and she amends it by getting onto her knees and rubbing its face, patting his head and scratching his ears, and she giggles as Guetta barks happily and licks her cheek.
“I’m Chloe, by the way,” she says, pushing her hair out of her face so she can properly look at her, because it'd been only about five minutes since she had known this woman and she can already tell that she is hooked.
“Beca,” the brunette offers, rolling her eyes in fake exasperation as she watches her dog lavish Chloe with attention, not even bothering with calling him off anymore because they both knew that it would be fruitless.
“Awes,” the smile on her face seemed like a permanent fixture, and her serious lack of sleep and previous apprehension about her upcoming medical exam is the last thing on her mind, “Nice to meet you, Beca, and I’m really sorry about yelling at you for waking me up.”
Beca waves away her apology and gives one of her own, “I’m the one who should be sorry about being an inconsiderate jerk who didn’t do anything when this one here,” she nodded to Guetta who blinked innocently up at them, “Won’t stop barking at the mist in the air.”
Chloe coos at the beagle now kissing her neck about being silly before turning back to the short brunette, her appreciation for the reparation mixing with a sudden hope for a chance to make up, “It’s fine, I got over it. Let’s start over?”
Because this time she’s not a sputtering, storm-up-to-her-total-stranger-of-a-neighbor-uncaringly-half-naked mess—well, the storming part at least, the half nakedness is still glaringly obvious and the uncaring is still stubbornly in place—and her neighbor’s really attractive and not a completely insensitive jerkface, and she would now like to make her acquaintance, and then possibly, optimistically, something more, and a redo of their respective first impressions are a necessity of a step for her—them—to reach that goal...
Chloe really wishes that Beca would say yes.
Beca grins and and steps away from the threshold, beckoning for her to go in, “Yeah, lets. Join me for a cup of coffee?”

✕𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: Magic, Halloween, Witch Au
✕𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 4.0k+
✕𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭: Hongjoong finds himself lonely, working day in day out to make human money. But what happens when someone comes into his workplace and asks for a temporary fix? Only Hongjoong knows how to make it permanent. Alternatively: “To taste a poison as sweet as love and the mist that clouds your sense.”
✕𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Mentions of physical abuse (not from Hongjoong though). Hongjoong is a little softie at first. Love at first sight and ‘I love you’s are exchanged quite fast. Slight obsessive themes towards the end, he takes a advantage of your broken heart and mentions of magic...because it is a witch au.
✕𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬: Unedited
✕𝐀/𝐍: This took me three days to write and a reupload but I’m finally here. Okay, welcome to the first installation of the Wonderland Halloween Au series! I’m so excited so please don’t let this flop :(... Do remember that this fiction and I don’t actually see Ateez in this way. I know this is different from my conventional tooth-rotting fluff but I’ve always wanted to dabble in a bit of fantasy au-s. I hope you like it as much as I do!

✕𝐀𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜: Here
As Hongjoong fake smiled at the customer and turned around to make yet another damned pumpkin spice latte, he found himself hating this part of the year more than any other.
It was a curse in all its worth to live in the human world, having to make mortal money. But no matter how much Hongjoong cursed his existence, he took slight comfort in the fact that at least he wasn't on the street starving and dying.
"Here you go, miss," he smiled and handed the paper cup to the lady and moved onto the next customer. It had been the same routine for the last few years Hongjoong had been cursed to the mortal world by his witch coven and it was getting boring, to say the least.
"Next customer, please," he said and tapped the register before looking up at you standing in front of him.
"What can I get for you today?" He asked after you didn't utter a word and just stared at the menu while fiddling with your hands. Your face was covered with a grey hood, and all Hongjoong wanted to do was yank it down and hex you for taking so long.
"Why don't you wait on the side while I take the rest of the orders?" He suggested, and a chorus of agreements for you to step out of the line was heard from the back.
"When you're done deciding, I'll help you out."
With that, he saw you move out the line and get cursed by the obnoxious and uptight people behind you, who were probably running late for their "important" meetings.
After shuffling about and preparing drinks behind the counter, he finally saw you stand in front of the register and right the little bell that was kept there to attract his attention.
"Are you finally ready to order?" He asked and you muttered a low 'yes' in response.
"What will you be having today?" He said and watched in annoyance as you brought your hands up to your hood and lowered it down to reveal your face.
"Just a black coffee, please. As strong as possible." Your voice was small and almost came out as a whisper. All the ill-will that Hongjoong had harboured against you vanished the moment he saw your blotchy face with dried tear streaks and small cuts.
"I'll get right on it," he said and mustered up a genuine smile, with his teeth showing.
You took out a crumpled note from your hoodie pocket and thrust it into Hongjoong's hand who just smiled at you again and put it in the tip jar, claiming your coffee was on the house.
When he stepped behind to attend to your drink, he made sure to provide extra attention to it. It looked like you had been through a rough day and all Hongjoong wanted at that moment was to make you feel better with his coffee. His coffee, crafted by his hands, made only for you.
An odd feeling churned at the bottom of his stomach as he lidded the paper cup and carrying it towards the end of the counter.
"Here you go. Strongest black coffee I could prepare," he said and you gave him a thankful nod.
You turned to leave, pulling your hood back over your head before Hongjoong called you out.
"Listen!"
You stopped in your tracks and shifted to face him. His red hair was falling into his wide eyes as he called out to you.
You approached him slowly and looked up to meet his eyes. They were a burnt umber colour, almost a warm reddish-brown and you found yourself getting slightly lost in them.
"If you don't mind," he started and you backed away a little, knowing how this would go. He was surely going to ask you for your number and you had no intention of giving it.
"What exactly happened? Who made you so sad that you couldn't sleep?"
The question startled you. You thought you had washed your face enough times to get rid of any lasting evidence but it seemed as if you were wrong.
"I-" you mulled over your words. Was it really alright to dump your problems on the barista of your local cafe?
"I stayed up all night fighting with my boyfriend," you admitted sadly and looked down at your hands that were clutching the coffee cup.
"Oh," Hongjoong frowned and felt that odd churning at the bottom of his stomach. Only this time, it was more fierce.
"It's not a problem, really. He just tends to get angry really quickly," you said and shrugged your shoulders as if it was no big deal.
Hongjoong didn't say anything but he had a small inkling as to what you were going through. While he may not have an immediate fix for it, he thought of something that would help.
"Hey, San!" He shouted and you watched as a lanky black-haired boy trudged out from the kitchen area.
"Can you please pack two cookies from the display case," he said and the boy meekly nodded before going off to do his task.
"I'm not sure of how much it will help..." Hongjoong trailed off and gave you a small knowing smile.
"But, I assure you, for as long as I have been living in the mortal world, I have never found any other cookie better than this."
You furrowed your eyebrows at his comment.
'Mortal world'?
Deciding to ignore it nonetheless, you lowly thanked the red-haired man in front of you before taking the paper bag out of San's hand, exiting the cafe.
As you soon as you exited, San clutched Hongjoong's hand and dragged him back to the kitchen area.
"I know what you're thinking," he said and Hongjoong watched the lanky boy turn back into his cat form and jump into his witch's arms.
"And what exactly am I thinking?" Hongjoong mused and raised one of his eyebrows, petting San's black fur and scratching behind his ears.
The cat hissed and bared its teeth at the witch who just laughed and ushered the cat back onto the floor.
"Sometimes San," he started and untied his apron, hanging up on one of the hooks, "You're too smart for your own good."
Hongjoong inhaled the scent of burning sage as he opened the door to his apartment with a small opening incantation. You could never really be too sure with these pesky humans. All pesky...except you.
Ever since Hongjoong's interaction with you at the cafe, he had set his heart on making you feel better, even if it does create a small dent in his supplies.
"San!" He called out once again and the cat made its appearance in front of him at once.
"Come on," Hongjoong said and stood in front of his bedroom door, muttering a quick spell before turning the handle and walking in.
The room was lined with wooden shelves from top to bottom with all types of witchy paraphernalia.
"Really? You're going to make that pesky human a potion?"
The cat turned boy was now leaning against the back wall, watching his owner word about his brewing room with a certain determination he had never seen before.
"Why not?" He said and dropped strawberry leaves along with a few dried jasmine flowers in a pot that was situated in the middle.
Hongjoong stood on one of the stools searching the higher shelves before he turned to San.
"We're out of willow barks," he said and San rolled his eyes before pushing himself off the wall and exiting the room through the window in cat form.
Hongjoong bustled about the room, adding different elements to the pot which had now turned an ugly black mixture.
Throwing in some dried butterfly wings and yarrow flowers, he sat down in the corner and waited for San to come back with his bark.
The night wind whistled through the room and Hongjoong's idle thoughts floated back to you. Even in your miserable state, he thought you mesmerising and while he wouldn't call it love at first sight, it was definitely love at first sight.
Everything about you set Hongjoong's nerves on fire with some kind of aphrodisiac. The poison of love slowly making its way through his system, flushing out all negative thoughts and replacing them with happy ones instead.
San meowed as he made an appearance in front of Hongjoong and dropped the willow bark into the pot. The potion turned a sweet dark pink and Hongjoong tipped the entire thing into a vial before shifting back to his room with a snap of his fingers.
When Hongjoong saw you next, he was more than prepared. But what he wasn't prepared for was for you to be in a worse situation than you were previously. The tear streaks had turned into cuts and the puffy eyes had turned into black-purple bruises that peeked out from under your makeup.
"What happened?" Hongjoong whispered and ghosted his fingers over a particularly nasty bruise. You flinched back and closed your eyes, thinking he was going to do exactly what your boyfriend did to you. Instead, he lightly caressed your cuts with his fingers, almost butterfly-like touches that you made you want to press your face into his hands.
"Was it him again?" He asked from behind the counter, leaning forward a bit to make sure that no one heard him.
You didn't say anything, the words getting horribly stuck in your throat. But your silence was answer enough for him.
"What's your name?" He asked and your eyes widened.
"(Y/n)," you whispered and looked down at your fiddling hands.
"Well, (y/n). My name is Hongjoong," he said and pointed to the small enamel plate pinned on his apron.
You nodded and gave him the most genuine smile you could muster in your state.
"Now, I'll make you some coffee and we're going to sit at that table over there and talk. Is that alright with you?" He asked and you nodded once again, hair covering your eyes a little.
He painted fingernails brushed the hair out of your face and shooed you out of the line with a sweet grin before turning around to make your coffee.
Slipping the small vile out of his apron pocket, he tipped in a capful of the potion he had concocted and watched as it slowly fizzled pink inside the blackish-brown liquid before settling down.
He set a small cookie on the saucer of your cup and set it down in front of you while seating himself in the opposite chair.
"How long has it been going on?" He said and you choked a little on the hot liquid, not expecting him to cut right through the chase.
"This is the second time," you responded, nibbling on your cookie.
Hongjoong didn't say a word. Except, he motioned for you to continue with your coffee while he just sat opposite you, admiring the way you looked so perfect. Save for the injuries here and there.
Slowly sipping the caffeinated liquid, you felt it soothe your oesophagus as it gushed down and settled in the pit of your stomach. The feeling was warm and it was almost as if it was temporarily fixing all your problems.
Oh, if only you knew.
"Do you like it?" Hongjoong asked and you nodded enthusiastically, the bitterness of it still stinging your tastebuds.
"There's something very flowery about it," you said and Hongjoong just gave you another one his innocent smiles before letting out a sheepish laugh.
"It's a special type of bean we get imported," he said and you completely believed it.
The conversation stopped there as Hongjoong had to go back to work. Picking up your now empty cup, he greeted you with a soft goodbye which you returned as you exited the cafe and walked down the street. It was a puzzling revelation to you but you found yourself feeling much better; half a heartbreak almost cured.
"You're falling in love with her, aren't you," San hissed from his corner in the room as Hongjoong grabbed the butterfly wings from his shelf and placed them on his work station.
"Absolutely... yes," Hongjoong said and smiled at his table that was scattered with handwritten notes for you. All declaring his love like some Romeo lost in time and oh, how jealous Juliette would be.
San sighed and turned back into his cat form, jumping up onto his witch's tables and scratching through some of the letters Hongjoong had written.
"Hey!" Hongjoong yelled and threw his body over the paper to shield them from San's claws.
"Mind your paws," he said and San just trudged off the table with an indecent flick of his black tail.
Over the past few weeks, Hongjoong and you had gotten close. It was finally yesterday when the last straw of his healing potion had worked and you broke out the courage to dump your stupid boyfriend and report him for abuse.
With him rotting in prison, you had a lot of time on your hand and what better way to spend it than with your precious Joongie.
"Why are you even making her another healing potion? Didn't (Y/n) dump the guy already?" San asked as he slinked over one of the chairs, his legs jutting over the arms.
"Silly kitty," Hongjoong started and San hissed in reply, baring his teeth.
"This," he gestured to the pot and then smiled, "Is not a healing potion anymore. It's a love potion."
At Hongjoog's words, San jerked straight up and looked at him with wide eyes.
"Are you serious?"
Hongjoong scoffed as he neatly folded his handwritten letters and placed them under one of the jars.
"Yes, very. I am very serious about my love for (Y/n). Now hand me the scissors."
San rolled his eyes and passed the scissors which Hongjoong used to cut up the rosed into small fragments of petals.
Flinging the roses into the boiling potion in the pot along with some bay leaves and lavender, his heart bubbled with excitement at the deep red colour it took on.
Taking all of his handwritten letters, he shredded them to pieces before adding them to the pot as well.
San and Hongjoong both moved away from the pot as it bubbled furiously and then shot out a bloody red mist in the air.
Hongjoong inhaled deeply while San hacked a cough here and there, changing into his cat form to hide from the poisonous mist.
Tipping the final step of his plan into a vile, he stored it safely in his jacket pocket for tomorrow before stepping out of the room.
"Good morning Joongie," you piped as you smiled at the red-haired boy in front of you.
"(Y/n)," he acknowledges and taps the screen of the register before clapping excitedly.
"Oh! We just got some new tea that I would love for you to try," he said and ushered you to one of the tables before getting behind the counter to prepare your tea.
Setting the prepared drink under your nose, you marvelled at the gorgeous colour. The way the sun hit just right to make the red seem almost pink and the way the steam from the cup had taken on a misty red hue.
"What is this called?" You asked and Hongjoong laughed, setting himself down in the opposite chair.
"It's a love potion," he said and you laughed, thinking he was joking.
"Well, let's hope it's my lucky day and I fall in love with the one I'm looking for," you joked back but Hongjoong just frowned and fiddled with his hands nervously.
Did you like someone else?
"Drink up," he said and you pushed the cup to your lips, drinking in all of the liquid at once.
Hongjoong almost squealed in excitement but he contained it and reached out to stroke your hand with his thumb instead.
"You know, (y/n). There's something I've been meaning to tell you," he started and watched with bubbling ecstasy as he saw your pupils dilate with a reddish tint before returning to normal.
"Go on," you smiled and clutched his hand. The rings felt cool against your skin and a slight buzz between both your hands caused your skin to tingle.
It was a refreshing feeling; the feeling of cliche love.
"I... I really like you (Y/n) and I was kind of hoping I could take you out?"
There, he had said it. Hongjoong had confessed the smallest part of his undying love for you.
"Oh..." you trailed off and Hongjoong furrowed his eyebrows.
Did the potion not work?
"Just think about it and let me know. You have my number," he said and got up to continue his work.
You, on the other hand, were at war with your inner self. There was a coworker that you had been crushing on for the last week or so and were planning to ask him out but why a clouding sense of Hongjoong had left you occupied with thoughts of him instead.
The walk back to your apartment was spent in a perplexing self argument. Every time you forced the thought of your coworker in your head, a repulsive feeling washed over you and only Hongjoong's face brought you to ease.
Instead of walking back to your apartment, you circled the playground near it the entire day before a ringing from your pocket interrupted your thoughts.
"I was wondering," you heard Hongjoong's smooth voice over the line and instantly found yourself smiling.
"If you had made up your mind?" He said and you sighed at the fantasy of him whispering 'I love you' to you in that voice. A rosy feeling poured out of your heart and rubbed the part over your chest to ease the excitement that was thrumming under it.
You looked around the playground and watched little children run and play with their parents. Suddenly, the world seemed to take on a rosy mist as if you were viewing it through red-tinted glasses.
"Hongjoong, I-" you spoke but your fingers tingled a little when you heard him laugh over the phone.
"Okay, alright. Take your time. Good night, (Y/n)," he said and hung up. You stood in the middle of the street, blinking as the shit-stained world was revealed to you once again.
Where did all the wonder go?
Your breath hitched as you started taking steps to the cafe, breaking out into a full-on sprint midway.
All the lights of the cafe were closed except for the spotlight on top of the counter. You saw Hongjoong clearing some things and quickly tried to push the glass door, only for it to not budge.
Frantically, you hit your palm against the glass causing Hongjoong to get startled and look up at the source of the noise. You locked eyes with him and it was as if at that moment, it was la vie en rose again.
Hongjoong hurried over from behind the counter, unlocking the door and pulling it open as you pushed from the other side.
Barrelling through the door, you locked your arms around his neck and buried your face into the crook of his neck. You exhaled shakily and Hongjoong almost fainted due to your warm breath that was hitting his neck.
"(Y/n), what happen?" He said and stroked your back with almost the same affection that a mother would give to her sobbing child.
Hongjoong tried to pull back but you only hugged him tighter, winding your arms tighter around his neck and pressing your body into his.
"I-I...I wanted to see you," you exhaled and Hongjoong's heart leapt at your words.
You wanted to see him!
"I'm right here," he said and led you to the back of the cafe where you saw San lazily sipping on a cup of milk.
"Hey (Y/n)- oh," he said and gazed at yours and Hongjoong's intertwined hands.
Hongjoong leaned against the counter next to San who had now shifted back into his cat form, nuzzling into Hongjoong's side.
"Is this your way of saying yes?" He asked and you just giggled. Hongjoong seemed ethereal to you under the rosy mist and his red hair complemented the flowers of love perfectly.
"No, Joongie...let's just skip all the initial formalities. I want it to be just you and me forever," you confessed with absolute determination in your voice and Hongjoong pulled you closer to him at your words.
"(Y/n), I love you," he whispered and San made a gagging noise at the side as Hongjoong yanked on his tail lightly, causing San to yowl and then scatter away.
"Joongie, I love you too."
For the people who said that the honeymoon phase never lasts, you and Hongjoong proved them horribly wrong.
Now, a year and a half into your relationship, you had shifted into Hongjoong's apartment with rosy dreams of marriage, little children or even more cats. You had quite your job, believing Hongjoong's claim about his job being more than enough to support the two of you. You spend your days lazing around the house with San who mostly stayed in his cat form unless he needed to stretch. During those times, instead of San the cat, you would hang out with San, Hongjoong's coworker and friend from the cafe who had decided to pay a visit.
Hongjoong never let you leave the house unless it was with him or unless he had given you an extra-strong cup of tea in the morning. You were perfectly content with being left to your own devices at home, dreaming of Hongjoong and bathing in the love you had for him.
"Here you go, love," Hongjoong said as he handed you the familiar red tea he had deemed a love potion. Over the months, the red tea had become your one source of liquid courage, comfort and support, completely oblivious to its side-effects.
Hongjoong watched you with a lovestruck smile as you sipped the tea he had concocted. Your pupils dilated with a red tint like every other time he had given you the tea, the rosy mist clouding your senses and mind.
An overwhelming amount of love spread through your body like fire as you leaned up to kiss Hongjoong on the lips. The sweet residue of his tea lingering between the two of you before you settled on the sofa to take a small nap.
"(Y/n)," Hongjoong called as he appeared in the doorway all dressed.
"I'm going to the cafe for a bit. Some stock has come in that the boss needs me to run it through."
You sighed dreamily before your eyes opened in panic and shock.
Hongjoong was leaving?
"Joongie, it's your day off. You said you would stay."
The male laughed and walked over to where you were lying down, stroking your cheeks and hair affectionately.
"I promise I'll be back as soon as I can," he said and brought your hand up to place a sugary kiss to it.
He picked up his things and moved to the front door as you launched yourself from the sofa and grabbed onto the back of his shirt.
"No, Joongie, please. I get so lonely and I just- you said you wouldn't go. Today's your day off," you begged and fisted his shirt in both your hands, preventing him from leaving.
Hongjoong felt slightly alarmed but he would be lying if he said he didn't like it. He had never seen you act this way but it was something he wanted to keep.
"Alright (Y/n). I won't go," Hongjoong said and ushered you back into the house, brushing a few stray tears from your face.
"Thank you, Joongie. Can I please have some more tea please?" You asked and pouted, trying to woo the male in front of you.
Needless to say that he was already very whipped for you.
"Of course, my love," he said and moved to kitchen as you attached yourself to him like a koala.
"I love you, Joongie," you said and hugged him tighter, "Promise you won't ever leave me?"
"I love you too, (Y/n) and yes, I promise I'll never leave you."
