imagine a commie gringa (who has never experienced actual communism) telling Latinos to accept a clearly rigged election of an authoritarian dictator who actively imprisons, tortures, and executes his political opponents. just because he said “free Palestine”
shut up, gringa

The reaction I'm seeing to the LA fires on social media is DISGUSTING, have some of you no compassion?
Not everybody who lives in LA is rich or a celebrity or a CEO. We're people of all different backgrounds and incomes, and to categorize one of the country's biggest populations under "rich" removes all of that
Furthermore, hi, PEOPLE'S HOUSES ARE BURNING DOWN. DO YOU GET THAT?? THEIR HOMES ARE BURNING DOWN
It's not about whether they have the money to immediately make a new one (remember that majority of people in LA county do not), it's about the fact that their entire livelihoods are disappearing right before their eyes and they can't do anything about it. Those memories are gone in an instant
Even if someone isn't being directly affected, they feel it in other ways. The air quality is extremely bad, everyone is smelling the smoke and seeing the flames
To generalize all of this and say "well only the rich are affected" and you having no sympathy whatsoever for that is disgusting. Shame on you

Kamala is doing everything she can lads.
Try and grasp the situation here: she is the presumptive nominee of a party that is comprised of both staunch Israëli opponents and hard line Israëli supporters. She also is going up against a party of exclusively the latter, and wants to try and convince as many people deciding between the Democrats and Republicans to vote for her in November. She cannot afford to lose because if she does, America will turn into a fascist theocracy for the foreseeable future, and then we will all be fucked because America is the most influential country upon global politics.
So Kamala Harris CANNOT AFFORD to say any more than she is saying about the war in Palestine right now, because if she does, she risks losing the support of a large and potentially election-deciding group of swing voters.
I am a supporter of a free and prosperous Palestine. I believe that Israël has no right to exist as a country, and that it is an apartheid state. But I also have some amount of common sense, and I see that there has to be a compromise here. As, it seems, does Kamala Harris. Watch the video above to see what I mean.
I am not a resident of the United States. I live in the Netherlands, where in the last election, the party with the most votes was the party who wants to ban the Qur’ān and close all mosques, advocates for increased and more violent policing, wants to retract the official apologies made for the Netherlands’ involvement in the Slave Trade, and ban puberty blockers. That’s not because most people want to do those things. It’s because people didn’t fucking vote. Well there are more reasons than that but that’s one of the main ones.
So, Americans. From your friends over in Europe. We like you. We don’t want you to live under a fascist theocracy. However, we don’t have the power to stop that. Only you do, and you can do it by putting aside your grievances and seeing the big picture here. In other words,
VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS.
I’m not gonna go into all the rest of her policies, but coming from a gay genderqueer socialist I think she’s pretty solid. Obviously she and I don’t agree on everything, but that’s because we’re unique individuals with different personalities, upbringings and backgrounds. Yknow, like how normal society is? I’ve been hearing so much discourse on this kut website and most of it boils down to “she’s not a carbon copy of me so I won’t vote for her”.
Guys, what the fuck happened to the tolerant left? What happened to the people who welcomed different ideas and beliefs? Are they in the room with us now??? Grow up. Go to your silly little American voting website and register to vote. I don’t know which website it is but someone can link it in a reblog or something idk.
And for my European friends. I know we all dislike how much influence American politics has on our lives. I fucking hate it. But we live in a globalised world, for better or worse, so try as best you can to make as many Americans that you know and love vote for Kamala Harris - or whoever it ends up being - come November. That’s the most we can do to ensure the right wing parties of our own countries don’t see Trump and follow in their footsteps. It’s happening in the Netherlands and we are already seeing the consequences over here. I’d talk about them but this post is too long.
TLDR: OI AMERICANS, VOTE BLUE
(pwease :3)

new type of person whose main political output is praising small business (mother and father) and who can't stop talking about hasanabi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The exquisite irony of this person thinking the people who "praise" hasanabi being the same communists they hate follow while reblogging this:
Tumblr media
And it's always the french revolution and guillotines with these types of people
Tumblr media
Also looking through their blog it turns out the very suspect/weird tags I've seen being left on my posts lately have almost all been done by this one blog so go figure

DISCTOBER DAY 8: SKILL
IM SO PROUD OF HOW THE SKILL PORTRAIT LOOKS!!! LIKE I THOUGHT I WASNT GONNA FINISH IN TIME. Anyway- This au is set during the initial attacks that Delores Dei's Army of Humanity launched on Mesque. Steban is still a revolutionary, trying to pull his people together while they get massacred. Ulixes (bless him, I've focused solely on Steban. I promise I'll do his sheet at some point) is a Gottwaldian run away, a petty criminal camouflaging with whatever group will get him the furthest.
As you can see, their dynamic changed quite a bit! Steban is forced into a position where his values, the thing he holds closest, can no longer be validated only by talk. He sees the action first hand, he knows his decisions can and have killed innocent people. On the other hand, Uli's survival instinct is pushed to the limit. This may be my own gross misunderstanding of the characters but Ulixes is different from Steban because his subconscious reason for being revolutionary is individual fear/helplessness and a want to eliminate the outside source of that fear. In this case, he is not initially a revolutionary. He wants to join Steban's band for simple protection while he stays in town but ends up becoming trapped there by the enemy army. This leads to them talking and developing a relationship similar to what we see in the game (but a little sadder as they're stressed and angry up til their last moments).
I do have a three act story planned out for this au but I'm still workshoping it!! For now, this is what I have (I know I also want to refine Uli's backstory a bit but that will come with his character sheet :3).

Brazilian TV: What if we broadcast a romance between a priest and a prostitute? I don't think anyone would be upset about that.

a lot of thievery from grocery stores has been documented lately, however at the same time grocery store profits are at an all time high.
nobody is talking about how these two are connected, why are people stealing from stores? something that could get them in jail, get them fired, potentially lose friends/their partner if they have one, keep them from getting jobs in the future just so they can eat, so their families can eat?!
people are stealing because it costs so much to get a meal these days, on top of living expenses. its becoming the only option, the only thing they can do besides starve. its literally the only option unless they wanna fucking die??? get sick??
its insane how basic necessities, not just food but water shelter medication ect is so expensive that most people cant afford it.
this is an actual nightmare if something doesnt happen soon i think society is gonna be like permanently fucked

TOP TEN WORST TYPES OF TF2 MISCHARACTERISATION: (in my opinion)
Woobified Scout (we've all been subject to it at some point)
"Feral" (rapist) Sniper (scary)
Not smart Heavy (man has a phd, smh)
Seme/Uke ass Heavymedic dynamic (and also woobified Medic)
Those "it was a girl all along" type Pyro fics (they fill me with such raw feral rage its insane)
Asshole dad Spy (can be fun in small doses but gets taken way too far 80% of the time)
Racist/Homophobic Soldier (HE WOULDN'T. Unless told to predjudice the enemy BUT THATS IT)
To the same extent, needlessly assholish Soldier (only exists to add another billion Scout Angst fics to the pile)
When Engie is "the normal one" (he's a maniac with a god complex, get it right)
Demo being ignored, or just having his alcoholism be the only thing about him
An honourable mention is making Ms Pauling straight /j

Getting your info on AI purely from tumblr communists will really warp your brain. And I don't just mean the anti-AI tumblr communists, which most of them are. Pro-AI tumblr communists will talk about AI like "This is a tool for the radical collective ownership of art. We are taking a stance against the opressive capitalistic system of copyright that abuses artists for the benefit of large corporations. Art is owned by no one. Art is owned by everyone." And then you step into the real world and AI is being used as a copyright grift to siphon money from creators using youtube's absolutely broken content id. Youtube, of course, being owned by google; the massive multi-trillion dollar company that is investing billions into AI.

Someday I will write 90s Amerus fic. That day isn’t now (biggest writing block rn), but someday. Many of the 90s fics in the English fandom are too incorrect in my opinion when it comes to historical contexts — and I know why, but it is 😄 grating

kinda whack how capitalism often assigns value based on scarcity—like diamonds or limited edition goods being worth more simply bc they're rare, creating this fetishization of scarcity, where rarity itself becomes a driver of worth...
Yet it simultaneously devalues the ultimate scarcity of life itself-not just human life, but all forms of life, and the intricate ecosystems that sustain our existence. It reduces the living world to commodities, resources to extract, or obstacles to clear in pursuit of economic growth, ignoring the profound interdependence of all life.
This system disregards the intrinsic worth of biodiversity, the essential roles ecosystems play in maintaining balance, and the shared history of survival that has enabled humanity to exist at all. By prioritizing short-term profit over long-term sustainability, capitalism exploits the very foundations of life, threatening not only individual species but the delicate web that connects us all.
Each life is profoundly scarce—we only get one, and every persons existence is singular and irreplaceable. Yet, under capitalism, lives are undervalued and reduced to economic utility. It reflects a system that prioritizes profit and productivity over the intrinsic worth of being human.
This contradiction—fetishizing scarcity in material goods while neglecting the ultimate scarcity of life—raises deep questions about how we assign value and what we truly care about. It feels like this disconnect is why movements for justice and dignity are so important; they remind us to center the value of life itself over profit or convenience.
On top of that, capitalism, especially in the Western world, often co-opts idealism—whether it’s spiritual, religious, or philosophical—to devalue the material reality of life itself. By emphasizing abstract promises—like eternal salvation, spiritual transcendence, or even the “inevitability” of technological fixes—it distracts from the urgency of valuing this life, the one tangible reality we can collectively know and experience.
This is especially troubling when these idealist perspectives are weaponized to justify harm, exploitation, or neglect of life. For instance, religious ideologies are sometimes used to excuse environmental destruction, framing Earth as disposable because a "better" world awaits in the afterlife. Similarly, spiritual notions of detachment from the material world can reinforce passivity toward systemic injustice, undermining the fight for equity and sustainability in the here and now.
What’s ironic is that the one undeniable truth we have—this finite existence—is disregarded in favor of speculative beliefs. Instead of cherishing the uniqueness of this life and its interconnection with all other forms of life, capitalism uses idealism to perpetuate exploitation, framing suffering or destruction as acceptable or inevitable within some larger, intangible framework.
I'm not dismissing spirituality or religion but rather urging us to focus on what we know—that this life, this world, is the foundation upon which all meaning is built. This makes valuing life, ecosystems, and our shared existence not just ethical but essential.
