could you write lottie x reader where they're at a party and the reader is tipsy, begging lottie to give her kisses, and lottie is just trying to put her to bed, thank you <333
a/n: i’m gonna cry dani ilysm😭😭 i got a bit carried away with this so im sorry if it seems kind of choppy 😥
the loud bass blaring from the speakers across the house was starting to give you a headache. you were a couple drinks in and the booze was just catching up to your system, swirling all your thoughts into one big whirlpool.
it’s been a long night of talking to random people and singing along to chart toppers from about 5 years ago. right now, you just wanted to find your girlfriend, really badly. you lost lottie at some point earlier in the night when she was pulled away by one of the other yellowjackets to play a drinking game with the rest of the team, and you hung out with some other friends from school.
navigating the sweaty, rowdy crowd was just awful. you were pretty sure this was practically the entire student population from your school, crammed into jeff sadecki’s stupidly big house. after squeezing past a couple rooms, you finally set your eyes on a familiar head of brunette curls.
you stopped in the doorway and watched on as lottie was zoomed in on an intense game of beer bong. she made that face she does when she’s concentrating — eyebrows furrowed, biting her bottom lip, the slight squint of her eyes. you couldn’t help but smile from the sidelines as she aimed the winning shot, and of course, she made it. a mixture of groans and loud whooping filled the room, as lottie happily turned to her teammate, shauna, and gave her a solid high-ten.
despite not drinking anything else, you somehow feel giddier than you did 5 minutes ago. but connecting the dots would’ve required too much brain power. instead, you stumble over to lottie and wrap her in a warm hug from behind. “congrats, babe!” you wish her with a grin, speaking louder than you thought you were in your head.
lottie yelps but an immediate smile appears once she sees you. “hi baby!” she greets, pulling you in for a chaste kiss, before her face contorts into a grimace. “oh, god, you smell of booze. how much have you drunk?”
lottie wasn’t typically one to drink a lot at parties, she wasn’t a big fan of the taste of beer. chances were you’d catch her smoking something instead.
“uhhm, like, just a bit…” you slurred out with an airy giggle, to which lottie groaned (affectionately). “i think you’ve had enough, we should get going soon, okay?” she said, pulling you aside by the arm. you whined at that, not wanting to leave so early. “nnooo, lottieee…” “come on, let’s get you sobered up a bit.”
whilst the two of you were walking to the kitchen hand in hand, you tried tiptoeing to give lottie another kiss, only to trip on an armchair in front of you and lose your balance. thankfully, your girlfriend has an insane reaction time and managed to catch you. “are you okay?” she hurriedly asked, pulling you up. “wanna kiss youu…!” was all you said with a cheeky smile. “no kisses until you’re sobered up!” lottie spoke firmly and you pouted the rest of the way there.
she pours you a glass of water and tells you to drink up. “mm, kiss first?” lottie rolled her eyes at how persistent you’re being, but eventually caved and gave you a peck on your cheek. “that’s all you’re getting. now drink up and we can leave!” content with what you got, you obliged and drank everything.
a moment passes and both of you stay standing, leaned against the kitchen island. lottie reaches over to brush your hair with her hand, strands getting entangled between her fingers. you turn to look up at her with your best puppy dog eyes, begging her once again for a kiss. “pleaseee, i’m not drunk anymore…” however, she was strong-willed enough to shake her head. “let’s get you home baby, you gotta rest.”
the drive back to your house was a comfortable silence, until you started mumbling along to the song on the radio, extremely out of tune. eliciting a laugh out of lottie made you grin and filled you with a sense of pride, that same giddiness overwhelming you
“alrighty, we’re here.” she announced as she parked the car. she hurriedly got out and came to the other side of the car to open your door and help you out. (you’ve proven several times that night that walking in a straight line would be a challenge.)
reaching your doorstep, you realised lottie would have to leave soon, and she’s only properly kissed you once. “do you wanna, maybe stay the night? my parents aren’t home and… i could use the company,” you asked, your fingers tracing up and down her arm. lottie’s face grew warm at your request, “really? i-i mean, yeah, of course!”
lottie’s hand reached for the doorknob, but you stopped her. “wait!” she turned to look at you, her big eyes widening in confusion. “can i have my kiss now?” you asked one last time. “pleeasseee?”
the corners of lottie’s lips quirked upwards as she let out a soft giggle. “fine, since you’ve been so patient with me tonight,” she murmured as she cupped your cheeks and finally gave you that kiss you’ve been yearning for all night. you instantly melted into it and rested your hands on her shoulders, pulling her in even closer
“there.” lottie said breathlessly as you two pulled away for air. you felt lightheaded and just stared back at her, dazed. “now let’s get you to bed.”

Hey I saw your ask for fanfics and I don't know if it still is or if you do AU....but my friend and I were joking about a Birdflash fast food AU...like in the mall food courts with the stalls all in the same area...thanks!
Thanks for the ask! I'm always open to any kind of fic ideas to feed my writer's block hehe I’m not completely sure what you meant, but here’s my fun little take on that! I got a cute idea and ran with it lolll Young Justice (show) AU, except Wally doesn’t know Robin’s real identity. Exists outside of the show’s canon timeline. Dick’s 18, Wally’s 20. Jason is Robin, he's like 12-ish. Alr established relationships are Artemis/Zatanna and Conner/M'gann. If you haven't watched the YJ show yet, dw, it'll still make sense. ALsO, GO WATCH IT IT'S SO GOOD
Word Count: 7191
TW: None
Summary: Dick playing games with Wally just for the heck of it and making Jason tag along. Wally’s a huge simp.

Wally West, better known to the world as Kid Flash, was just exiting the changing rooms of Mount Justice with his iconic red and yellow uniform slung over his shoulder. He'd traded his speedster suit for a simple hoodie and jeans combo, his fiery hair tousled from the quick change. He didn’t mind the hustle—he was used to doing everything fast, after all.
As he walked into the lounge area, the familiar sight of Artemis and Zatanna caught his eye. The two heroines were seated on the couch, engrossed in a conversation with laughter bubbling between them. Artemis was leaning against Zatanna, both of them looking entirely too comfortable. They were dressed in casual outfits that hinted they were heading out rather than staying in.
"Well, if it isn’t our favorite lovebirds," Wally announced, his tone a mix of amusement and mock exasperation.
Zatanna looked up first, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "Look who finally decided to join the living. What’s up, Wally?"
Wally shrugged as he dropped onto the arm of a nearby chair. "You know, the usual—saving the world, busting bad guys. But hey, speaking of ‘what’s up,’ where are you two headed? Doesn’t seem like a night for crime-fighting."
Artemis shot him a teasing glance, crossing her arms. "Not everything’s about crime-fighting, West. It’s date night."
Wally rolled his eyes dramatically, though a smile was already forming on his lips. "Date night again? You two are always on date night. What’s a guy gotta do to get some attention around here?"
Zatanna chuckled, nudging Artemis playfully. "You’re just jealous because you’re not invited. Besides, what happened to Conner and M’gann? Thought you were their third wheel."
"Please," Wally scoffed, shaking his head. "You think I’m hanging out with the golden couple? They’re in their own world. I’m starting to think everyone here’s got something better to do than hang out with little ol’ me."
Artemis smirked, raising an eyebrow. "Ever thought of hanging out with Rob— I mean, Nightwing? He’s always up for some action."
At the mention of Nightwing, Wally’s smile wavered just slightly, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his face before he masked it with his usual humor. "Yeah, right. If only Nightwing wasn’t on a mission with the new kid. It’s Baby Robin’s first solo gig without Batman, so Nightwing’s got babysitting duty."
"Robin’s first mission?" Zatanna tilted her head, curiosity piqued. "He’s what, twelve?"
"Yep, and raring to go," Wally confirmed with a nod. "Nightwing’s been training him hard. The kid’s good, but he’s still just a kid. Guess that makes me the last wheel on this wagon."
Artemis gave him a sympathetic look. "Come on, Wally, don’t be so dramatic. You’ve always got something going on. Besides, aren’t you supposed to be a genius or something? How do you even find the time to whine about being alone?"
Wally grinned, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I’ve got time for everything, Artemis. Speedster, remember? But if you must know, I’ve got a job to get to anyway."
Zatanna blinked, her eyes widening in surprise. "A job? You? As in a regular, non-superhero job?"
Artemis looked skeptical. "Wait, you’re a superhero, a student at Central City University, and you have a normal job? When do you sleep?”
"Sleep’s for the weak," Wally quipped, but the grin on his face was more real this time. "Besides, gotta stay busy. You guys aren’t the only ones with lives outside of the team."
Zatanna looked just as surprised. “Yeah, what kind of job are you doing, Wally? I thought you were too busy for anything else.”
Wally shrugged, a grin spreading across his face. “Just working at the food court in the local mall. Gotta pay the bills somehow, right? I can’t let my parents cover all my tuition fees. Besides, it’s not like saving the world pays well.”
Artemis rolled her eyes, but there was an amused smile on her lips. “Only you would find time to be a superhero, ace your classes, and work a part-time job. You’re insane, you know that?”
“Insanely awesome,” Wally corrected her, giving a mock bow. “Thank you very much.”
Zatanna chuckled, shaking her head. “You’re something else, West. But seriously, don’t overwork yourself. We don’t want you burning out.”
Wally waved off her concern. “I’ve got it all under control. Don’t worry about me. You two just go enjoy your date night. Try not to miss me too much.”
Artemis smirked as she grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder. “We’ll try, but no promises.”
Zatanna winked at him as they headed for the door. “Have fun at work, Wally.”
“Will do. You two have fun too,” Wally called after them, watching as they walked out of the lounge, the door sliding shut behind them. Once they were gone, Wally let out a small sigh, running a hand through his hair. He loved Artemis and Zatanna, really, he did. But it was hard not to feel a little left out sometimes. Everyone seemed to have someone, whether it was M’gann and Conner, or Artemis and Zatanna. Even Dick had Jason to focus on. And then there was him, Wally West, the odd man out.
Shaking off the melancholy that threatened to creep in, Wally picked up his uniform and made his way to the zeta tubes. He had work to get to, and he wasn’t going to let himself get bogged down by thoughts of what he didn’t have. There was always tomorrow, always another chance to hang out with Dick, or to do something fun with the team. For now, he had to focus on the present.
“Zeta tube activated. Kid Flash, B03,” the automated voice intoned as Wally stepped into the zeta tube.
— — —
The night had settled into that dreary lull where everything felt slower, even for a speedster like Wally West. He stood behind the counter of the food court’s burger joint, absently handing out orders to customers with the practiced ease of someone who could do this in his sleep. Which, frankly, he felt like he was doing.
Boredom gnawed at him as he forced himself to smile at yet another tired-looking customer. I could have done this in seconds as Kid Flash, he thought, eyeing the clock that seemed to be ticking by at a snail’s pace. But, he reminded himself, it wasn’t about the speed. It was about the money. The money that kept him from having to burden his parents more than he already did, that paid for his textbooks, and that somehow made him feel like a normal guy for a few hours a week.
Not that normal was all it was cracked up to be. Wally stifled a yawn as the latest customer took their tray and walked off. Finally, a break. He retreated into the kitchen, slumping against the wall as he tried to muster the energy to make it through the rest of his shift. Maybe he could grab a snack or—
Ding!
The familiar chime of the front counter bell rang out, signaling another customer. Wally groaned internally, the small moment of peace shattered. Pushing himself off the wall, he mentally prepared to slap on his customer service smile and head back out.
But when he reached the counter, Wally froze in place.
Standing before him were two people—a young man and a tween boy. But it was the man who instantly caught Wally’s attention. He had tan skin that seemed to glow under the harsh fluorescent lights of the food court, paired with striking baby blue eyes and dark, tousled hair that looked effortlessly perfect. His smile was brilliant, the kind that could light up a room, and Wally felt his breath hitch. The man looked like he’d just walked out of a magazine, or like some kind of Greek god casually browsing for fast food.
Whoa, Wally thought, his mind suddenly blanking. He was vaguely aware of the younger boy at the man’s side, staring up at the menu with wide eyes, but it was hard to focus on anything other than the man’s presence.
The boy, who had the same blue eyes and dark hair as the man, was clearly excited as he scanned the menu, but his gaze lingered on the prices a little too long. There was something cautious in the way he looked at each item, like he was weighing his options carefully despite the fact that he was clearly well-to-do.
The young man nudged the boy gently, his voice smooth and encouraging. “Order whatever you want, Jason. It’s on me.”
The boy—Jason—looked up at him, his eyes brightening at the reassurance. After a moment of contemplation, Jason finally settled on his choices. With the man’s encouragement, Jason stepped forward, telling Wally the order for both of them. “Uh, two cheeseburgers, a vanilla smoothie, and a chocolate smoothie… oh, and a side of fries.”
Wally’s brain was still short-circuiting from the initial sight of the man, and it took a moment for the words to register. When he realized they were waiting for him to take the order, he snapped back to attention, his face heating up. “Uh, sorry, can you repeat that?” he stammered, mortified.
The young man chuckled softly, clearly amused rather than annoyed. “Two cheeseburgers, one vanilla smoothie, one chocolate smoothie, and a side of fries,” he repeated patiently.
Wally nodded quickly, punching in the order with a speed that would have been impressive if he wasn’t still flustered. He risked another glance at the man, who was now leaning casually against the counter, watching Wally with a relaxed smile. Jason was fiddling with the straw dispensers, blissfully unaware of Wally’s internal turmoil.
When the order was finally done, Wally hurried to grab the food, barely trusting himself to meet the man’s gaze again. As he handed over the tray, their fingers brushed for the briefest moment, and Wally’s heart skipped a beat.
“Thanks,” the young man said, giving Wally a smile that seemed far too dazzling for such a mundane setting. Jason took the tray, and the two turned to find a table in the food court.
Wally watched them go, a mixture of relief and disappointment swirling in his chest. The moment was over as quickly as it had started, and he found himself wondering who they were—especially the man who’d managed to leave him tongue-tied with just a smile.
As they disappeared into the crowd of the food court, Wally shook his head, trying to shake off the daze. He’d seen good-looking people before, sure, but there was something different about this guy. Something that stuck with him even as he tried to focus on the next order.
There was this lingering feeling that he’d seen that guy somewhere. Even the boy. He’d seen or met them before, but he couldn’t figure out where.
The night dragged on, but Wally couldn’t help sneaking glances at the table where the two of them sat, laughing and talking as they ate. He didn’t know why, but something about the man’s presence made his usual boredom feel a lot less heavy.
— — —
After finishing his shift at the mall, Wally had raced home, not because he had anything urgent to do, but because he couldn’t shake the strange feeling that had settled in his chest after his encounter with the young man and the boy at the food court. Something about them had lingered in his mind, like a song stuck on repeat.
Now, sprawled out on his couch with his phone in hand, Wally was absentmindedly scrolling through Instagram. He wasn’t really looking at anything in particular, just letting the stream of images and videos wash over him as he tried to unwind. But no matter how much he tried to distract himself, his thoughts kept drifting back to the striking blue-eyed man and his younger companion.
Why did they seem so familiar? Wally wondered, his brows furrowing as he scrolled past a series of memes. He couldn’t place it, but there was something nagging at the back of his mind, like he’d seen them somewhere before.
Suddenly, a post caught his eye. It was from one of the many celebrity accounts he followed, mostly out of idle curiosity. This one was a photo taken at a recent gala—a typical fancy affair, complete with a red carpet, flashing cameras, and enough designer clothes to fill a department store. But it wasn’t the opulence of the event that made Wally pause. It was the people in the photo.
There, in the middle of the shot, stood billionaire Bruce Wayne, smiling suavely at the camera. But it wasn’t Wayne who held Wally’s attention—it was the two people standing beside him. One was a young boy with dark hair and bright blue eyes, dressed in an immaculate tuxedo. The other was a young man, also with dark hair, the same electric blue eyes, and that same effortlessly charming smile.
Wally’s eyes widened as recognition finally hit him like a bolt of lightning. No way.
He quickly tapped on the photo, enlarging it to get a better look. There was no mistaking it. The young man and the boy from the food court were the same people standing next to Bruce Wayne. They were Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, Wayne’s adopted sons.
Wally sat up straighter, his heart thumping in his chest as he stared at the screen. That’s why they looked so familiar, he realized, his mind racing to connect the dots. He’d seen their faces a hundred times before, on TV, in magazines, and splashed across social media. They were practically celebrities, famous for being part of the Wayne family—a family that was almost as famous as the Justice League itself.
“But what the heck were they doing in a random Central City food court?” Wally muttered to himself, scrolling through the comments on the post, searching for any clue that might explain their unexpected appearance. There was nothing, just the usual gush of admiration for Bruce Wayne’s philanthropic efforts and the Grayson-Todd brothers’ good looks.
Maybe it’s just a rich people thing, Wally thought, trying to make sense of it. He’d heard that billionaires could be eccentric, doing things just for the experience or because they felt like it. Maybe they’d just decided to grab some fast food for the novelty of it. Yeah, that had to be it. Rich people being weird.
But even as he tried to dismiss it, Wally couldn’t shake the feeling of awe that had settled in his chest. He’d just served burgers to Dick Grayson and Jason Todd—two of the most famous people in Gotham, if not the entire country—and he hadn’t even realized it. And Dick… Wally’s thoughts drifted back to the way Dick had smiled at him, the way his voice had sounded so smooth and kind. It was enough to make Wally’s cheeks flush even now, hours after the fact.
Curiosity got the better of him, and Wally found himself searching for Dick Grayson’s Instagram profile. He didn’t follow it—he wasn’t really one to keep up with celebrities—but it wasn’t hard to find. Dick had millions of followers, his profile filled with snapshots of his life. Charity events, photos with Bruce and Jason, pictures of him hanging out with friends, and the occasional gymnastics video. Wally couldn’t help but scroll through the posts, his starstruck awe deepening with each passing second.
He’s really something, Wally thought, marveling at the way Dick managed to look effortlessly perfect in every shot. There was something magnetic about him, a kind of natural charm that seemed to leap off the screen. It was no wonder he was so popular.
Wally sighed, setting his phone down for a moment as he tried to process the day’s events. It wasn’t every day that you ran into someone like Dick Grayson in a fast food joint, and it definitely wasn’t every day that someone like Dick Grayson looked at you like you were worth noticing. It was enough to make Wally’s head spin.
But as much as he was drawn to Dick’s public persona, Wally knew that whatever fantasy he was entertaining was just that—a fantasy. Dick Grayson was a world apart from Wally West, living a life of luxury and fame that Wally could hardly even imagine. Still, a part of him couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to know Dick for real, to talk to him, to maybe even be friends…
Wally shook his head, laughing softly at himself. Get a grip, West. You’ve got enough on your plate as it is. But even as he tried to push the thoughts away, he couldn’t help but take one last look at Dick’s profile before setting his phone aside for the night.
The image of Dick’s smile lingered in his mind as Wally finally drifted off to sleep, a small, secret part of him wondering if fate had more in store for him than just a chance encounter.
— — —
The familiar hum of Mount Justice’s security systems greeted Wally West as he arrived at the team’s headquarters the next morning. The sleek, futuristic corridors felt like a second home to him, a place where he could be both Kid Flash and Wally West without worrying about maintaining a secret identity. Today, however, Wally was more focused on the remnants of the previous night’s encounter, the memory of Dick Grayson’s smile still lingering in his mind.
As he made his way through the base, Wally found himself instinctively heading toward the training room. The doors slid open with a quiet hiss, and he paused in the doorway, his breath catching at the sight that greeted him.
Nightwing was there, moving fluidly through a series of acrobatic exercises on the jungle gym, his body twisting and turning with a grace that seemed almost otherworldly. Wally leaned against the doorframe, watching in awe as Nightwing flipped through the air, landing perfectly on a narrow beam before launching himself into another complex maneuver. There was something mesmerizing about the way Nightwing moved—every motion was precise, every muscle perfectly controlled. It was like watching a dance, and Wally couldn’t tear his eyes away.
For a moment, Wally allowed himself to simply enjoy the view, captivated by Nightwing’s smooth motions. There was an effortless beauty to the way he trained, a kind of controlled chaos that reminded Wally of why Nightwing was one of the best. It was hard not to be impressed—no, more than impressed. Wally felt a twinge of something deeper, something that he wasn’t quite ready to name.
After a few more minutes, Nightwing completed his routine with a final, flawless flip, landing on the mat below with a soft thud. He straightened up, running a hand through his sweat-dampened hair as he reached for a water bottle sitting on a nearby bench. That was Wally’s cue. He sauntered into the room, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.
Showing off for me, Rob?” Wally teased, his tone light as he crossed the room to join his friend.
Nightwing took a long drink of water before turning to face Wally, a playful grin on his face. “You know me, KF. A performer can’t resist an audience.”
Wally chuckled, leaning against the bench as he watched Nightwing towel off the sweat from his workout. “Well, I gotta say, you make it look easy. Seriously, I was getting tired just watching you.”
Nightwing laughed softly, tossing the towel over his shoulder as he leaned back against the wall. “Comes with the territory. How’s life treating you?”
Wally shrugged, his thoughts briefly flickering back to the previous night at the food court. “Oh, you know, the usual. Classes, missions, and… working like fucking SpongeBob,” he added with a dramatic sigh.
Nightwing’s expression didn’t change, but there was a glint in his eye as he spoke. “Heard you picked up a part-time job. How’s that going?”
Wally raised an eyebrow, a wry smile tugging at his lips. “You heard, huh? Bats and their intel… Is there anything you don’t know?”
Nightwing shrugged, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. “We have our ways.”
Wally rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t help the fondness that crept into his voice. “It’s not bad. I mean, it’s not the most glamorous job in the world, but it pays some of the tuition fee. And hey, it’s kind of nice to be normal for a while, you know?”
Nightwing nodded, his expression thoughtful. “I get that. Sometimes it’s good to have something that grounds you, keeps you connected to the real world.”
Wally appreciated that Nightwing seemed to understand. “Yeah, exactly. Plus, it gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Not that I don’t love our morning training sessions or anything.”
Nightwing chuckled, the sound warm and familiar. “Yeah, I bet.”
“Speaking of which, how’d the mission with Baby Robin go last night?” Wally asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
Nightwing’s face softened slightly at the mention of Robin, though his expression remained guarded, as it always did when it came to Bat-related missions. “It was… fun,” he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Wally tilted his head, giving Nightwing a mock-annoyed look. “That’s it? Fun? You Bat-types are always so cryptic. A little more detail wouldn’t kill you, you know.”
Nightwing shrugged, his smile turning into a smirk. “Gotta maintain the mystique, West. Keeps people on their toes.”
Wally huffed, but there was no real annoyance behind it. He was used to this kind of answer from Nightwing—and from Batman before him. The Bats never revealed more than they had to, always keeping their secrets close to the vest. It was just part of who they were, and as much as it could be frustrating, Wally had learned to live with it.
“Yeah, yeah, I get it,” Wally said, waving a hand dismissively. “Gotham’s all about secrets and shadows. But one of these days, I’m gonna crack that Bat code of yours.”
Nightwing laughed, the sound light and genuine. “Good luck with that. You’re welcome to try, though.”
There was something about being around Nightwing that just… made Wally feel so light.
— — —
Wally was in the middle of refilling the condiment station when he spotted two familiar figures strolling into the food court. Wally’s heart skipped a beat as he recognized them immediately—Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. It seemed like they had returned, and this time, they weren’t just passing through.
Jason looked less than thrilled, his arms crossed and a scowl on his face as he followed Dick through the food court. Dick, on the other hand, seemed in high spirits, his usual easygoing charm on full display as he chatted animatedly with his younger companion. Wally watched from a distance, trying to suppress his grin as he observed the interaction.
“You know, you could’ve just said you wanted the fries,” Dick was saying, his tone light but teasing. “You didn’t have to complain about everything else.”
Jason shot him an annoyed glance. “It’s not about the fries, Dick. It’s about you dragging me out here again.”
Dick laughed, the sound clear and bright even from where Wally stood. “Oh, come on. It’s not that bad. Besides, it’s been a while since we had a day out. And you’re the one who insisted we had to try this place.”
Jason rolled his eyes but couldn’t suppress a small smile at Dick’s persistence. “Yeah, well, next time, maybe pick somewhere less… mall-ish? And less here? We both know why you’re here—”
Dick gave Jason a playful nudge. “Alright, alright. You go sit at that table, and I’ll take care of the order. Deal?”
Jason muttered something under his breath but reluctantly headed towards a nearby table, his frustration melting away as he plopped down into a seat. Wally couldn’t help but chuckle at the scene. Even from a distance, it was clear that Dick and Jason had a unique, if slightly contentious, dynamic that was oddly endearing.
When Dick made his way over to Wally’s counter, Wally straightened up, forcing himself to focus on the task at hand. He couldn’t deny that seeing Dick again made his pulse quicken, his thoughts returning to the charming young man he had encountered days before. Dick’s presence was like a magnet, pulling Wally’s attention as he approached with that same effortless grace.
“Hey there,” Dick greeted with a friendly smile, his blue eyes lighting up as they met Wally’s. “Back for another round of burgers and smoothies.”
Wally nodded, trying to maintain his composure despite the fluttering in his chest. “Uh, yeah. Yeah. Two burgers, vanilla and chocolate smoothies, fries. Right?”
Dick laughed, his amusement evident. “Yep. You remembered, huh?”
Wally tried not to blush. “Uh, a lot of people order this. Exact. Combo. Uh. Anything else?”
Dick shook his head, his gaze lingering on Wally for a moment longer than necessary. “Nope, that’s it. Thanks,” Dick’s gaze moved to Wally’s name tag. “Wally. Cute name.”
Wally opened his mouth to respond, but his voice caught in his throat, cheeks burning. Dick Grayson knows my name! Holy shit— He quickly rushed into the kitchen.
As Wally prepared the order, he couldn’t help but steal glances at Dick. The way Dick moved, the way he spoke, even the way he smiled—it was all somehow magnetic, and Wally found himself captivated once again. It was almost as if every gesture was calculated to charm and disarm, and Wally was more than willing to be charmed.
When he finally handed over the tray of food, Dick’s smile widened, and he reached into his pocket. Wally’s eyes widened in surprise as Dick placed a crisp $100 bill on the counter, leaving Wally momentarily speechless.
“Wow, thanks,” Wally said, his voice betraying his astonishment. “You didn’t have to do that.”
Dick shrugged, a casual yet sincere expression on his face. “Just a little something for the trouble. Consider it a tip for good service.”
Wally watched as Dick turned and headed back to Jason’s table, his movements graceful and effortless. The sight of Dick settling into the chair across from Jason, their banter continuing as if nothing had happened, left Wally feeling both elated and perplexed.
He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to Dick and Jason’s visit than met the eye. Why did two Gotham celebrities choose a Central City food court for their outings? Was it really just a spontaneous decision, or was there something else behind it?
But as Wally watched them, a part of him dismissed the notion as typical rich people eccentricity. After all, he’d never be able to fully understand the lives of billionaires and their adopted kids.
With a sigh, Wally returned to his work, trying to focus on the mundane tasks at hand. But the memory of Dick’s smile, the warmth of his words, and the generosity of his tip lingered in his mind, leaving Wally with a curious sense of wonder and anticipation.
He couldn’t help but wonder if he’d get to see Dick Grayson again soon.
— — —
Happy Harbor Park was bustling with activity on this sunny Saturday afternoon. Families picnicked on the grass, kids ran around chasing each other, and couples strolled hand-in-hand along the winding paths. It was the kind of lively, vibrant scene that Wally West found himself unexpectedly drawn to.
His usual routine had left him feeling restless, and as he wandered through the park, knowing Conner and M’gann were on a date here. They were seated at a quaint little picnic table, complete with a basket of food and a checkered blanket spread out between them. It was a romantic setup, and Conner’s mildly annoyed expression when he saw Wally approaching was also quite classic.
“Hey, guys!” Wally called out, waving as he approached the table. “Mind if I join you?”
Conner looked up from his burger with a frown. “Wally, seriously? This is our date.”
Wally shrugged, a mischievous grin on his face. “Come on, don’t be a stick in the mud. I’m just here to hang out. You two look like you could use a third wheel.”
M'gann looked up from her salad, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “Wally, you’re crashing our date? How original.”
Conner shook his head, clearly unimpressed. “You could at least find your own date. You know, someone who actually wants to hang out with you.”
The comment stung more than Conner probably intended, and Wally’s mind immediately flashed to Dick Grayson. He couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to go on a date with someone like Dick—someone who seemed to belong to a world so different from his own. The thought made his cheeks flush with a sudden, unexpected warmth.
M'gann noticed the change in Wally’s demeanor and raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile tugging at her lips. “Oh, I see how it is,” she teased, her tone playful. “Someone’s got a crush. And you don’t even need to be an telepath to figure that one out.”
Wally tried to play it cool, but his blush deepened. “What? No way. I was just thinking about—uh—something else.”
M'gann’s smile widened as she leaned in closer. “You don’t need to hide it, Wally. It’s written all over your face. You’re definitely thinking about someone special.”
Conner looked between them, a smirk forming on his lips as he picked up on M'gann’s teasing. “Come on, spill it, Wally. Who’s the lucky person?”
Wally laughed awkwardly, trying to brush off the conversation. “Oh, no one important. Just… someone I ran into recently. It’s nothing.”
Conner raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. “Nothing, huh? So why are you blushing like a tomato?”
Wally rolled his eyes, trying to regain his composure. “Alright, fine. Maybe there’s someone I’ve been thinking about. But it’s not a big deal. They’re way out of my league. Our encounters were probably just chance.”
M'gann’s eyes softened with a hint of sympathy. “Wally, sometimes chance encounters can lead to something more. You never know.”
Wally shrugged, trying to play it off. “Yeah, well, I’m not holding my breath. Besides, you guys enjoy your date. I’m just here to crash it and steal some of your fries.”
Conner grumbled under his breath but didn’t protest further as Wally helped himself to a handful of fries. M'gann continued to tease him lightly, but there was a warmth in her eyes that suggested she genuinely cared about his feelings.
As the afternoon wore on, the three of them chatted and laughed, the initial awkwardness fading into a more comfortable camaraderie. Wally tried to push his thoughts of Dick Grayson aside, focusing instead on enjoying the company of his friends. But even as he joked and shared stories, a small part of him couldn’t help but wonder about the possibility of seeing Dick again and whether there might be something more to their chance encounters than he had initially thought.
He wanted there to be more.
— — —
The food court was bustling as usual, the hum of conversation and the clatter of trays providing a familiar backdrop to Wally West’s evening shift. He was in the middle of restocking napkins when he saw the familiar sight of Dick Grayson and an annoyed Jason Todd walking into the food court again. This time, however, they were joined by a striking redheaded girl who looked to be around Dick’s age.
Wally’s heart sank as he took in the sight. The girl was beautiful, with fiery red hair that framed her face in soft waves. She laughed at something Dick said, and Wally’s chest tightened at the thought that Dick might be on a date with her. The pang of disappointment was sharp and immediate.
Trying to mask his feelings, Wally quickly composed himself and forced a casual demeanor as he went about his duties. He avoided staring too much as Dick and his companions made their way to the counter. Instead, he focused on the task at hand, attempting to ignore the fact that the very person who had captured his interest was now accompanied by someone else.
“Hey there,” Dick greeted with his usual charming smile as he reached the counter. Wally tried not to let his emotions show as he met Dick’s gaze.
“Hey,” Wally replied, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible. “What can I get for you today?”
Dick seemed completely unaware of Wally’s inner turmoil as he placed their order with practiced ease. “The usual—two cheeseburgers, a vanilla smoothie, a chocolate smoothie, and a side of fries. Oh, and we’ll need it to go.”
Wally nodded, taking down the order and moving quickly to prepare it. He tried to keep his focus on the task, determined not to let his personal feelings interfere with his work. As he was assembling the order, he noticed that Dick and the redheaded girl were chatting animatedly, their easy rapport only making Wally feel more dejected.
After a few minutes, Wally handed over the completed order. Dick reached into his pocket and pulled out another $100 bill, which he placed on the counter. Wally started to thank him, but Dick had already turned to leave, carrying the bag of food with him.
Just as Wally was about to put the money away, he noticed something peculiar—a small note folded neatly under the bill. Curiosity got the better of him, and he unfolded the note, his heart pounding in his chest.
The note read: “Call me <3 – Dick”
Wally’s eyes widened as he stared at the phone number scrawled beneath the message. It took him a moment to process what he was seeing. The world seemed to slow down as he glanced up, searching for Dick, but the group was already making their way out of the food court. Dick didn’t look back, his attention fixed on the redheaded girl and Jason.
Wally stood there, dumbfounded, holding the note in his hand. The realization that Dick had left him a way to get in touch was overwhelming. A mix of excitement, confusion, and nervousness swirled inside him. Why had Dick left him his number? Was it a genuine offer to continue their conversations, or was there something more behind it?
The note felt like a lifeline, an unexpected chance at something Wally had only dared to dream about. But the girl with Dick had made him doubt, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe he had misinterpreted the gesture.
As he watched Dick’s group disappear through the mall’s entrance, Wally’s mind raced with possibilities. He wanted to call Dick, to see where things could lead, but the uncertainty of the situation made him hesitate.
He glanced at the note one more time before carefully slipping it into his pocket. For now, he needed to get through the rest of his shift, but he knew that his thoughts would be occupied by the note and what it might mean.
— — —
The training room in Mount Justice was abuzz with activity as the team went through their morning drills. Conner Kent was working on strength training, M'gann M'orzz was practicing her telekinesis, and Artemis was running through archery exercises. In the midst of it all, Wally West was struggling to focus, his mind clearly preoccupied.
Nightwing, ever observant, noticed Wally’s lack of concentration. He had been working with the team on hand-to-hand combat drills, and Wally’s distracted demeanor wasn’t going unnoticed. After a particularly grueling set of exercises, Nightwing called a halt to the session.
“Alright, everyone, take a break,” Nightwing announced, his tone authoritative but calm. The team dispersed to grab water and catch their breath.
Nightwing approached Wally, who was leaning against the wall, absentmindedly rubbing his shoulder. “You seem off today, Wally. Something on your mind?”
Wally looked up, momentarily startled by the direct question. He tried to mask his unease with a casual shrug. “Nah, just a bit tired. Long night, you know?”
Nightwing’s eyes narrowed slightly, a sly smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Long night, huh? Anything in particular keeping you up?”
Wally frowned, sensing an undercurrent in Nightwing’s tone. “Just… stuff. Nothing to worry about.”
Nightwing’s smile widened, as if he found Wally’s evasiveness amusing. “Well, if you say so. But you know, if there’s something you want to talk about, I’m here.”
Wally hesitated, feeling a mix of embarrassment and vulnerability. He wasn’t sure why, but he felt compelled to share a bit more. “Actually, there is something. I’ve been thinking about this… hot guy who gave me his number.”
Nightwing raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Oh? A hot guy, huh? Sounds like something worth looking into.”
Wally rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a flush creep up his cheeks. “Yeah, well, he’s been showing up at the mall where I work. The thing is, I’ve kind of had a crush on him for a while. But he left me his number, and now I’m not sure what to do.”
Nightwing’s grin turned sly. “You should definitely call him.”
Wally blinked, taken aback by the straightforward advice. “Wait, seriously? You’re just telling me to go for it?”
“Why not?” Nightwing replied with a shrug. “If he’s interested enough to give you his number, there’s probably something there. And you never know unless you give it a shot.”
Wally couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt. He had been harboring feelings for Nightwing, too, and the idea of pursuing someone else felt like a betrayal, even if it was unintentional. “I guess so. It’s just… I’m a little nervous, you know?”
Nightwing’s expression softened slightly, though the playful edge remained. “I get it. Nerves are normal. But sometimes, you have to take a leap. And who knows? It might turn out to be something really great.”
Wally looked at Nightwing, taking in his encouraging words and the genuine warmth behind his smile. Despite the conflicted feelings he had, Nightwing’s support was comforting. “Thanks, Nightwing. I’ll think about it.”
Nightwing clapped him on the back. “That’s the spirit. Just remember, sometimes the best things come from taking a chance.”
With that, Nightwing turned and walked away, leaving Wally with a swirl of emotions. He couldn’t deny the lingering feelings he had for Nightwing, but the prospect of calling Dick Grayson left him both excited and anxious.
— — —
Wally stumbled through his front door, a whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind. He quickly dialed the number from the note, his heart pounding in his chest. As the phone rang, he paced back and forth, trying to calm his nerves.
After a few rings, the call was answered. The voice on the other end was unmistakable.
“Hey, Walls.”
Wally froze. It was Dick Grayson’s voice. But it was also Nightwing’s voice—the same voice he heard over his comm during missions. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks, and he felt his face flush with a mix of shock and embarrassment.
“No way,” Wally groaned, slapping a hand over his face. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Dick– Nightwing’s laughter came through the phone, warm and teasing. “What’s wrong, KF? Didn’t expect to hear from me?”
Wally’s mind raced as he tried to piece it all together. “So, let me get this straight. You’re Nightwing? The same Nightwing I’ve been working with on missions? The Nightwing and Robin who won’t tell me his secret identity? And you’re the guy who left me his number?”
“Guilty as charged,” Dick replied, still chuckling. “I didn’t think it’d be such a surprise. I figured you’d recognize my voice eventually.”
Wally’s cheeks burned with a mix of frustration and embarrassment. “Seriously, Rob? How long have you been playing me? Were you just messing with me all this time?”
“Come on, Wally, don’t be mad,” Dick said, his tone playful. “I thought it would be fun to keep you guessing. And, well, I didn’t want to make things too obvious. I figured you’d eventually put two and two together.”
Wally tried to keep his composure, though he couldn’t help but be flustered. “Oh, sure. Real funny. I’ve been going around with this huge crush on you, thinking you were some mysterious celebrity. And all this time, you were just messing with me.”
Dick’s voice softened a bit, though the teasing undertone remained. “Hey, I didn’t mean to make you feel like I was playing you. I just thought it would be… more interesting this way. And, in all honesty, I was kind of hoping you’d figure it out.”
Wally sighed dramatically, though he was secretly thrilled. “Well, now that I know, what do you have to say for yourself?”
“I’d say you’ve got me at a bit of a disadvantage,” Dick replied smoothly. “But I’d also say that I’m so glad you called. I was hoping we could get to know each other a bit better. Out of masks and capes. Maybe even go on a real date?”
Wally’s heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. “A date, huh? So now you’re asking me out after all the drama?”
“Yep,” Dick said with a grin in his voice. “If you’re up for it. I promise I won’t be too much of a tease this time.”
Wally chuckled despite himself, feeling a mixture of exasperation and joy. “Alright, fine. I’ll play along. But only if you promise not to make me look foolish in front of everyone else.”
“Deal,” Dick agreed. “How about we meet up at that new Italian place in downtown Star City? I hear they have amazing pasta. We could also go bother Roy afterwards — you know him as KF, I know him as Dickie Grayson. Say, tomorrow night at seven?”
Wally tried to sound nonchalant, but he couldn’t help the smile spreading across his face. “Sounds good. I’ll see you then. And, by the way, I’m still not letting you off the hook for all the sneaky stuff.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less,” Dick replied. “I’ll be looking forward to it, Wally.”
Wally ended the call, staring at his phone with a mixture of satisfaction and disbelief. It was true—Dick Grayson and Nightwing were the same person, and he had a chance to go on a date with him. The thought made him giddy, despite his earlier irritation.
He took a deep breath and grinned, trying to contain his excitement. “Well, this should be interesting,” he muttered to himself, already anticipating the upcoming date.
With a renewed sense of enthusiasm, Wally went about his evening, mentally preparing for what promised to be a memorable night. Despite the teasing and the playful deceit, he couldn’t deny how thrilled he was at the prospect of spending more time with Dick. After all, the two people he had a crush on had turned out to be one and the same—an outcome that was both surprising and incredibly exciting.

YJ Season 4 Arc Rankings Part 2
#3-Raquel’s Arc
I was curious how they were gonna do Rocket’s Arc since we don’t know as much about her versus the others so it kinda made senses that her arc focused on the overall plot with revealing the main villain as Lor-Zod and the alliance between the Justice League, Green Lantern Core, and New Genesis. So the main development we got from her was between her and her son as she learns to handle his autism. As well as her working with Orion and seeing how he process emotion and trying to understand him better. Love getting to see Razor get his cool Red/Blue Lantern armor and his Luscious Locks. Seeing him on YJ made me go watch the Green Lantern series just because he thought he was hot and I just wanted to know more about him. I like the little villain trio we got with Mantis, M’comm, and Lor-Zod, you can just tell they all hate each other. Shout out to Mantis to carrying the team the last bit and finding the phantom projector just out of spite because Lor-Zod thought he couldn’t do shit. Loved that our heroes actually got to fight the main villian of the season it really did help move the plot along. Very sad we lost Tomar-Re but was not expecting female forger to get his ring but I got pretty hyped from that.
Rocket gets a 7/10
#2-Dick’s Arc
Let’s be real here this wasn’t really Nightwing’s Arc this was just the ending Arc. Dick got the first ep to flex his detective skills, connecting the dots to stuff we as the viewer already knew while everyone else looked at him like he was crazy. After that the show was like “Okay baby everyone knows who you are, step aside so we can connect the rest of these plots. I was pretty surprised by how easy it was for our heroes to get into the phantom, the harder part for sure was just trying to get Conor to come out. Definitely felt some jealousy from Lor-Zod when he saw his dad took Conor under his wing even though he was still gonna manipulate him. Switching gears to I think the Legion of Superheroes should think about giving Phanton girl a bell to communicate with because every time she opened her mouth she just caused more problems. I’m not trying to hate on the girl but she was asleep for more than half the season so she’s a little behind. It was really intreating not having the light be involved in the big final battle but shit those rough kryptonians worked fast, they were on earth for like 20 mins and there this close to killing superman. But of course everything worked out for our heroes with defeating the Zods and Conor remembering who he is. Seeing Icicle Jr at SuperMartian’s wedding legit brought tears to my eye because I was so happy he was invited.
Dick gets a 8/10
#1- Conor and M’gann’s Arc
This was also pretty close between Dick’s arc and Conor and M’gann’s arc but conor and M’gann’s arc actually forces on it’s main characters and sets up the main plot for the whole season so it gets the top spot. Idk if it was just the fact that it was more then 2 years since I got to see some new YJ but I was just so happy to see our beloved characters back again. I love getting to see and learn about Mars and meeting M’gann parent and her little sister. J’onn what’s your address again cause I gotta make sure you get your best uncle award for how you defended your nieces. Reliving the childhood between the M’orzz siblings was very emotional and the line of “I was just a child” I think really encapsulate what young justice is. Young heroes taking on burdens that is well beyond their years with this burden being racism. I thought the murder mystery was also clever with it taking place on a planet of telepaths but yet no one knows who did it. You can kinda tell that Conor wasn’t gonna stay dead with him being killed off in ep 4 of 26 but still not see him come back up from the hole was still heartbreaking. And to who ever idea it was to have the end credits just be M’gann sobbing at the foot of the alter they were support to be married at the next day, You are a foul foul person.
Conor and M’gann gets a 8.5/10

(yj death anon) thank you for giving me the tally! idk why but i didn’t realize there was two seasons even though i saw the numbers on gifsets lol. which death was the most painful for you? did any of them make you mad? and were any of them disappointing?
i think what hits so hard about a lot of yellowjackets deaths is you see them coming a mile off and you know it's gotta happen but (for me anyway) you love them so much you keep hoping they're gonna hold on a little longer, and when they finally go it's almost a relief to stop having to hope for them. and then you get to watch the surviving characters (emotionally and/or physically) cannibalize that character and the grief just stunts them more and more. so it tends to be emotionally devastating but really enjoyable.
natalie's death was literally just yesterday so i havent wrapped my head around that as much yet and it goes crazy bc shes absolutely always been one of my favorite characters, in both the teen and adult timelines i get so excited every time she's on the screen. so to watch her adult counterpart die and know we're not gonna see her again is definitely a blow and i wonder if i'm going to enjoy the adult timeline as much without her. a lot of ppl are big mad about her death but from a narrative standpoint, i saw it coming, and i wouldn't say it 100% had to happen but i get why they did it.
there are other deaths, like javi for example who we just lost last week, where you really dont want to see it happen and it doesn't feel good but it makes perfect sense within the story. javi's death recontextualized everything we've ever seen about adult natalie and made her make so much sense. in season 1 it was kind of similar with jackie and shauna, where we knew the whole time jackie was going to die but we didn't know how or when - and to see that it was shauna's fault made adult shauna suddenly make so much sense. with javi it's a lot harder for me personally to sit with bc he's really just a kid, i think he's like 14 maybe? so yeah just really really awful to see, i had to look away for some of the scenes dealing with his body.
i think the most painful death tho is shauna's baby, which, you're not even really attached to the baby itself while watching bc you don't get to have any time with it but that episode is so unbelievably painful for shauna, and sophie nelisse (the actress) was truly going for all the fucking awards. shauna at this point has lost and cannibalized her best friend, gone into labor while severely malnourished, hallucinated holding her baby and him being alive and healthy, only to wake up and find that he never lived at all. we see her have a (not fully addressed tbh) bit of a psychotic break where she believes that everyone ate her baby and it's truly so fucking brutal.
one thing tho is that despite the brutality these deaths do not feel gratuitous and i really appreciate that. they make sense within the story and affect the other characters in ways that i can understand.
#anon#answered#yellowjackets#yj spoilers#i didnt wanna make this post any longer but#there are funny deaths as well#like yesterday they also had elijah wood poison a cop and it was so great

hi hello, back on my bullshit that is misty fucking quigley. could have had much more of her but it's okay...i fully expect to see more of my unhinged baby in the coming episodes. as usual, thoughts under the read more <3
sure you can look and look and look for someone that you actually love but you can also find you someone that will listen to, with the windows down, fuck tha police in your minivan while you're inside being questioned about your totally not dead but def missing boyfriend....we stay stanning jeffrey sadecki in this house and i love him so much. but also rip that dash and steering wheel 'cause it got sticky af from that spit take. like shauna please...he's gotta clean that now before you go off to cult camp with your besties
i wasn't a callie stan until just recently ( annoying teenager pls forgive me for side-eyeing the fuck outta her ) but miss ma'am gO OFF MAKE THEM QUESTION EVERYTHING DET. CREEPO SAYS 'cause goddamn that man needs to go. he needs to be fed to whatever the fuck they all brought back from the woods. also "does this mean we're going to jail???" i love the sadecki family so much.
VAN AND TAI PLEASE STOP PUSHING EACH OTHER AWAY but also please explain what happened for y'all to split up 'cause i'm no longer thinking it was 'cause of the "wicca bullshit" anymore seeing as tai is leaning more into it ( though that was kinda obvious from the fact that adult tai has her little alter #ripbiscuits )
i know they all got beef / tension with lottie but what was up with lottie and misty upon lottie seeing her. like please...what happened out there other than hottie lottie being diagnosed as schizophrenic and being institutionalized and that could ya know....'cause some tension and questioning of what had happened out in the woods, bUT STILL WHAT HAPPENED. 'CAUSE WHAT DID MISTY DO SEEING AS THEY'RE ALL MEH WITH HER. aside from her general weirdness and slightly off-putting personality.
that jackie bit when shauna passed out had me clutching my pearls like sHAUNA BABY DO NOT GO INTO THE LIGHT. and also, i might get shit for this but whatever, eat my ass; thAT DREAM SEQUENCE HAD MY ASS BACK IN THE THEATER WATCHING TWILIGHT BREAKING DAWN PT. 2 like goddamn...okay this one wasn't THAT GOOD but they really had me there in the first half like i full blown thought i was gonna be able to tick off the eating of the...well you know off my bingo card. but nope, they played me, they said "yOU THOUGHT YOU SICK FUCK" so i'll give 'em that. four for you glen coco, four for you.
natalie bby do you need a hug?? yj writers...have you forgotten and or completely disregarded the whole mistnat setting up of season one and telling us to eat your asses now like ha-ha you really thought we'd give you those two?? hahahaha...i hate them and i need them to stop toying with my emotions. LET. THEM. BE. HAPPY. AND. TOGETHER. 'cause that "he was the only one i loved" and "he was the only one who cared about me" like mmmm...mmm...m'kay, i'm gonna go lay in the highway. but like i get. still going through some shit. bUT FUCKIN' RUDE.
deep breath
can we talk about misty's little goodie bag and how it was given carol in twd unloading all her shit when they got to alexandria and just...kept putting more and more on the cart? 'cause i loved that and i fucking lost it aND WALTER BUDDY BOY, YOU WAS GONNA DIE or i'm at least assuming as i don't know what was in the vial that misty had in her purse with the syringe like ma'am please. she was ready to beat the fuck outta whoever, handcuff them, and possibly do some light torturing....so i once again sAY WHY ARE YOU DICKING ME AROUND WITH MISTNAT YJ WRITERS?!?!!??! fucking hell...
anyways....
the episode was good but lowkey...they need to stop hyping them up so much or i need to lower my expectations. either way...felt there could be a bit more and feel like they're taking too long with the story and they're dragging it out to an almost annoying length. like we get it, you're hoping for five seasons but i don't want to wait 'til the last season to have all questions asked or if the worse outcome happens, they get cancelled, i don't want any room for no questions being answered. so...if they could stop dragging it out and get to the point, that'd be super. but that's just me.

Dying In The YJ Boy's Arms
i got so many requests for this after the first one which you can find it here (also i reread it and it's pretty scuffed so i'm shocked y'all love it so much) anywho, enjoy!
also tw // blood and gore and death (duh)
bart allen:
- "bart, bart, breathe." you dug your elbow into your wound trying to breathe through the searing pain. bart stood in front of you, hyperventilating at your current state
- "i-i-i wasn't fast enough, i should've been faster theres gotta be something oh my god, a hospital! lets get you to a hospital you're gonna be fine it's okay!" he reached to pick you up bridal style like all those other times he'd carried you around the world, but for the first time you pushed him away with a wince
- "bart you know this is no good, it's too late for me but that's alright. i'm okay." you suppressed a shudder, your nerves crying and screaming at ever movement.
- "no! there has to be something! cmon, we can just-" you cut him off, "Bartholomew Henry Allen you will not drag me anywhere, i will not let you waste your last new minutes with me."
- you watched him go through about 200 different thoughts in a matter of seconds but that was pretty average for him
- in a zip he was seated next to you, letting you rest your head on his shoulder while his arm draped around your shoulder
- "does it hurt?" he whispered, linking your free hand in his. as he rubbed light circles on your hand you found a smile through the pain, "just a tad, it'll go away soon i'm sure."
- you didn't exactly know what to expect, but as death wraps its cold fingers around you there was your speedster to keep you warm
- "i'll find you again you know, multiverse, gates of hell, white picket fence of heaven i'll be there." bart said, determination wiping away the grief.
- "just don't forget my okay? know that i'll be with you even in spirit." you tried to cool his flame, knowing him he'd be running himself out in just a couple hours
- he gave you a nod, pulling your lips to his with a heartfelt goodbye
- as the pain increased tears prickled from your eyes, trying to stay strong in the last moment you had
- "i can make it painless you know, vibrate your molecules so fast it doesn't register" bart whispered, cradling you in his arms as you let out a wimper and a nod
- with a promise of your rescue, bart let out a sob, knowing that he had to let you go, that you were in an debilitating amount of pain, but his selfish side wanted to relish in every ounce of life you had
- ultimately he let you go, clutching to the last moments of your warmth until you were truly gone
- he wouldn't be okay. hair grown out, eyes dull, speed practically useless, a mental block would appear- why does he need to be fast if he wasn't fast enough to save the one thing he cared about? it would take month, multiple failed rescue missions that almost cost him his own life before he'd get the help he needed, and who knows maybe one day he'd find the key to brining yoy to his side once again, god knows he'd never truly let you go.
wally west:
- wally is the speedster that is known for outrunning it all, so i doubt he'd ever let you die unless it was long and impending
- for an enevitable death wally would show you the world, you'd be ran from the top of the eiffel tower to the smooth sandy beaches of hawaii and every place inbetween
- you'd take pictures of everything, hundreds of candid photos of you kissing wall on the cheek or laughing at some funny face he's making
- on Tim's credit card the two of you would eat the best food around the world, staying up way too late in hotels with suites fit for a king (thanks Wayne Ent)
- as much as Wally loved to speed around, there would be night when you had to slow him down, reminding him what was really happening and that he couldn't run away from this one
- after a whirlwind of a few months you'd end up in a hospital bed, Wally would be glued to your side, bringing you the finest of cuisines and the best of jokes trying to make you ~situation~ more manageable
- there was one day when you woke up and you knew, Wally felt it too- he met your eyes that morning and saw the last grasp of life fighting for release
- you spent the last few hours curled into his chest, it started with him trying to come up with insane ways to bring you back to life, but it ended with him crying in your shoulder as he realized it was the end
- just minutes before you let go you gave him a box of all the printed pictures, "something to remember me by" you gave him a soft smile but soon his lips crashed against yours
- "there's not a chance in hell i forget you, not a chance. but thank you, i just wish we had a little more time."
- once you're gone i think Wally would have a newfound perspective on time, forever the speedster who lost the one thing he loved- from a reason he couldn't outrun or fight or solve. his only reason for continuing on is knowing that when he does meet you years and years into the future you'll greet him with open arms and be proud of all he had accomplished
gar logan:
- when you jumped in front of gar to save him you didn't really think about the aftermath, you'd assumed it would be a one-and-done situation: you get shot and die he lives on and is an amazing hero
- it was so much more heart wrenching than that
- the guttural roar that escaped his chest when you took the grim reapers grasp in his place ripped through the earth's core itself
- almost instantly whatever foe he faced would be dead, and he'd rush to pull you into his arms for your last few moments
- his visions would be cloudy with tears as he wiped the blood from you lips
- "don't cry gar, you've got so much to do" you'd whisper, nestling further into his embrace. there's a point before it all ends where it doesn't hurt anymore, what a brilliant decision by the creator of human kind - you felt on top of the world and simultaneously so weak
- "i don't want to do it without you" he whined, watching the color drain from you face
- "you're gonna do such big things my love, i had to get you the chance to thrive, now it's starting to hurt again so hold me close and tell me you love me while i go alright?" gar was never great at knowing what to do, his entire body was basically shutting down in shock but he held you nonetheless, gently swaying back and forth; periodically he wiped the tears trickling from the corner of your eyes
- "see you soon gar, i'll be your guardian angel now i suppose" you smiled into the darkness fading into the warmth of his embrace
- only once you were gone did he let it out, screeching, crying, begging, just letting the universe have all the anger pent up inside of him. he left with more than a promise, an oath to do the guardian angel on his shoulder proud. i like to think he'd frequently shift to your favorite animal of his almost to imagine the smile that used to light up on your face
~
hope u liked it! comments mean the world to me n i check the reblogs haha <3

Gotta say after seeing all those Gargoyles references in last weeks new YJ episode really got me inspired to watch the series again. I am so happy I have most of the series on DVD. Greg Weismen and Brandon Vietti make the most amazing TV shows and Young Justice and Gargoyles are the absolute best out of them all.

Top 10 Favorite Young Justice Characters
10. Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle
Starting off the list is Blue Beetle. Young Justice introduced me to him, and I was hooked. He’s probably the most mellow and calming voice. His arc and relationship with Bart (friendship or not) were my favorite aspects of S2. They bounced off each other in every scene. I was very disappointed when Jaime and Bart were sidelined so much, and hope S4 changes this (particularly with Bart).
Jaime in the number 10 spot since he doesn’t really have much of a memorable personality. Still love him to bits though.
9. Will Harper/Red Arrow
Funny enough, I did not like Will. He was an asshole in S1; S2 kind of changed my mind about him but not enough since he didn’t appear as much. What really changed my mind was the episode “Private Security” (S3 Ep.4). I started looking back into Will’s storylines and, I have to admit, his is probably one of the best character development.
The first season had him unwillingly living a lie and betraying the people he cared for. In season 2 he was so consumed into finding the original Roy for five years, not even caring or focusing about his own life. I felt really bad for Will because he was probably going through an identity crisis and thought he couldn’t live his life without finding Arsenal. Probably felt guilty.
Seeing him living his own life and being happy with his daughter was so heartwarming. I smiled every time Will appeared in the latest season (totally ignoring the Will x Artemis fiasco), especially with Lian. I’m very proud of him.
I feel bad for putting him so low, yet I adore the next characters more.
8. Garfield Logan/Beast Boy
I have been a massive Beast Boy fan since Teen Titans so you probably can imagine how excited to see him. His origin story was unique and his brother-sister bond with M’gann was very sweet. It was pretty weird seeing how much younger Gar was than Dick, but I got used to it. I was bummed that Gar wasn’t in S2 as much; however, S3 truly made up for it.
After watching Beast Boy being a great leader in S5 of Teen Titans, I wanted a leader-like and more mature version of him. Young Justice truly delivered with Gar being the leader of the Outsiders. It’s nice to see him treated with respect rather than as a joke because that was my biggest gripe with Teen Titans. Though it was weird seeing him not crack a joke at all.
Gar’s story with his mom was heartbreaking to see. I literally cried seeing his reaction to revisiting his trauma in S2 and S3; I just wanted to hug and tell him how awesome he is. My only complaint with Gar in S3 was that the Outsiders weren’t established until near the end of the season.
His voice actor being Greg Cipes also gives him extra points (He’s a chill guy and radiates BB energy).
7. Dick Grayson/Nightwing/ Robin I
Sorry to all the hardcore Nightwing fans.
I love Dick (don’t get any ideas), but he doesn’t get enough development in the spotlight. One of the things I really wanted to see from him is his growth as a main leader, and his journey to becoming Nightwing. I was really bummed when these happened between the first two seasons.
To be honest, I don’t have as much to say about him other than straightforward qualities I enjoy about him.
1.His Voice (it’s so soothing)
2.His Personality (very charismatic)
3.Very Handsome (Probably in the top 3 my most handsome YJ Men list)
I put him higher than the others since he made a lot of contribution to the story and his new words (gotta love that aster!)
6. Megan Morse/M’gann M’orzz/Miss Martian
If I made this list during S1, M’gann would have probably been in my top 3 (maybe even No. 1), but S2 didn’t give her any brownie points.
I really liked S1 Miss Martian because of her kind heart, awkward girl next door personality. Her trouble fitting in the beginning reminded me of when I was going through a time in high school; seeing her having trouble as well helped me feel not so lonely. M’gann powers were (still are) my favorite since I am a big fan of mind-like powers. I would feel so powerful. Watching her identity crisis(?) arc was great too. I’ve had trouble feeling comfortable in my own skin as well as my social anxiety (I’m a mess) and I could understand how scared Megan was of her friends’ thoughts on her true form.
Oh boy. Season 2 basically ruined her. Learning what she would do to enemies was terrifying to see and left me wondering what happened to Miss Martian that made her step this far. What she almost did to Superboy was almost unforgivable. You do not try to manipulate with your boyfriend’s mind when you guys have an argument! Shame on you M’gann. If Superboy hadn’t forgiven you then I wouldn’t have either.
Good thing S3 somewhat redeemed her. Her kind heart was noticeable again and she refused to do that mind trick again (thank god). Very excited for the Superboy and Miss Martian wedding! Please creators, I beg of you to not skip over it. I want to cry my eyes out in happiness!
5. Kaldur’ahm/Aquaman/Aqualad
Now we’re in the top 5 with Aqualad (*ahem* Aquaman) starting it off.
Creating Kaldur was the best decision the creators ever did. I love him with all my heart!
He added diversity to the original team and was a great leader. S1 was not his breakout season, though the second season definitely was.
Kladur played the villain so well that he deserves an automatic Oscar. I never doubted that he was with the heroes, but he didn’t disappoint. My favorite part about Aqualad’s performance was when he rose from the ocean slowly like a cliché villain (he made it work), and the line he said right after he “killed” Artemis; it sent me chills. Love it!
Pretty disappointed that he didn’t appear as much in S3. Very happy that he is a part of the LGBTQ+ community and is in a happy relationship. I’m a part of the community and loved that there was finally some representation in one of my favorite shows. Even so, I have to criticize how rushed and sidelined it was. I hope Kaldur and Wyynde’s relationship gets development.
4. Kon-El/Conner Kent/Superboy
Like Will, I did not like Superboy at first. Mainly angry and volatile characters were never really my cup of tea. I do understand why he was upset and felt bad for him; I just handle anger the direct opposite as him. My love for Conner started growing around the end of S1. He was very sweet towards Miss Martian (bless him for not caring about her appearance) and his anger was in control.
Season 2 pretty much switched my opinions on him and M’gann. It was awful what M’gann almost did to him. That scene with him being so sad that what she did ruined that special bond they had almost made me cry. I wanted to give him a hug. He grew so much too since I don’t think he would have handled the whole M’gann drama as well in S1. A lot of furniture would’ve been broken.
I gotta admit something. I almost put Conner near the bottom (maybe no. 7). A comment in a poll in Amino changed my mind. I wrote a poll asking other fans who did they prefer SB or MM. At that point I said SB, though I didn’t think much of it. Someone (specifically yjfangirl) responded “Superboy has the best development in the show.” This had me thinking about how far SB has gone. In the beginning, Conner was an angry guy who felt alone and rejected by the person who he was meant to emulate. Now he is happier and living for himself rather than to be the next Superman. He’s getting married people! A little detail I noticed when rewatching S3 was Superboy mentioning to new characters that they weren’t obligated to be a hero because of their abilities. I adored this! The main reason why Superboy was created to be Superman if the original ever died, and another one of Luthor’s puppets. But he strayed from that pressuring path and is doing his own thing. Conner doesn’t want other people to feel like he did. What an absolute pure soul.
Also, yjfangirl, first I want to say Hi (*waves*)! Then say thanks for writing that comment. It made me really think about the bigger picture with SB and my love for him as grown exponentially. You probably didn’t mean to do that, but I still want to thank you. 😊
3.Wally West/Kid Flash
We’re in the elites now.
I don’t know how to explain it, I just love Wally. He makes me laugh, and his character growth was great. At first, Wally was this cocky flirt who didn’t take the hero work as seriously. That changed in “Cold-hearted,” one of my favorite episodes in the series. This was when I really started seeing more of Wally than being this dumb flirt. It was great seeing him actually caring about helping people since I believed for a long time that he wanted to be a superhero to just have powers rather than actually protect others. The regret in his eyes when he thought his impulsive behavior killed Perdita helped me see who he really was- this somewhat arrogant speedster who had a kind heart. Episodes that can make me change my perspective on characters are truly special.
I was very upset that he wasn’t in S2 a lot. I understand why since he gave up the life, but I was still bummed. Seeing him being so loving and protective towards Artemis was amazing. Spitfire is my favorite ship and I will not give up on them. All I want is a happy ending! The penultimate episode of S3 was a hint that it will happen. Watching the S2 finale was heartbreaking, I cried watching him disappear, his love for Artemis being the last things he said. Artemis’ reaction did not(I just wanted to hug her).
I have more to say, though I’m leaving it for another post. 😉
2.Bart Allen/Kid Flash II/Impulse
Picking between Bart and Wally for second place was tough. Took me a while to decide; I’ll talk about it later on.
The moment Bart made his appearance, I absolutely adored him. He is amazing and I live for his hyper, fun attitude. His arc and relationship with Jaime were my favorite aspects of S2. What can I say, their chemistry is great to see.
That scene when he was meeting the Flash family was so adorable. His excitement was infectious and spoiling his dad and aunt’s births was hilarious! I watch it occasionally whenever I need a good laugh or reason to smile.
Unlike most time travelers- at least the ones I’ve seen- Bart was very involved with what was going on and befriended his biggest enemy- evil and weirdly huge future Blue Beetle. He was pretty careful about disclosing very important information and took things very seriously. You never know if disclosing everything was the thing that brought the world to chaos.
What I found interesting was his choice on how to interact with everyone. He seemed pretty gloomy in the future, but decided to portray this cheerful, devil-may-care attitude to be more likable. I understood (still kind of do). I had terrible mental health issues and I pretended to be happy in front of loved ones because I thought they wouldn’t care about me anymore. Bart got some brownie points for that.
I was dissatisfied when his role was greatly reduced. I wanted the creators to go further with Bart by revealing his past and how it affected him. He was pretty much comedy relief. You couldn’t imagine how disappointed I was, especially with it involving my second favorite character. Season 4 better change that.
I know that you shouldn’t assume a character’s sexuality, yet I really hope Bart is gay. There needs to be more clear representation and Bart can be one of them. I’m also a Bluepulse and Bartuado shipper (fine with either one as long as Bart’s bond with each of them stays strong).
Anyway, I mentioned that I would explain why I chose Bart for 2nd place over Wally. It mostly stems from wishful thinking. I really want S4 to have Bart as a main character since I believe the future will be strong plot point in the season. Development could surely happen such as Bart opening up more about what he went through. Let all those feelings go.
I’m going to write an article on my hopes for S4 when a release date is announced. Bart and Wally will most definitely be talked about.
…..
We are finally near the end!
And my No. 1 favorite character is…
Drumroll please!
…
..
.
1.Artemis Crock/Tigress/Artemis
That’s right people!
Artemis Crock, original member of the Team and daughter of villains!
She is such an inspiration to anyone who wants to go their own past without their parents’ support.
It’s hard to describe how much I love Artemis. She’s brave, strong-willed, and a kind person. It’s crazy how great of a person she is after all the terrible things that happened to her. I look up to her because I don’t have a healthy relationship with my parents (verbal and mental abuse) and there are times I don’t feel strong enough to stand on my own. I want to carry the amount of strength Artemis has as my own.
After all that happened in S2, it was amazing to see Artemis come back to the team and train the new generation. It must have been hard to walk away from a safe, comfortable life for a chaotic, dangerous life. I admire that in everyone, but I hold more respect for Artemis since “the life” “killed” Wally. I wanted to hug her so bad.
She’s also one of the kindest people in the show, the events in S3 being the best example. When Zatanna was crying about her dad, Artemis was there to comfort her. It was so sweet! Roy and her also took in Halo and Terra like they were a part of the family; the archer treated them like the best big sister. That rainstorm scene was heartwarming to the core.
Wouldn’t Artemis be an amazing mother? Lian and her have a strong bond like a mother and daughter; I loved it, and Lian is in good hands with Roy and Artemis. Though Jade deserves a chance to be a mother. Artemis also seemed to enjoy taking care of those kids in that S1 episode. Wally too. You guys know what I’m guys insinuating. 😉
Get ready for some fanfics on that someday.
My favorite Artemis-centered episode was the second to last episode of S3. I was waiting for this episode centering around Artemis missing Wally and learning to move on. It was great yet heartbreaking. Nothing bad happened. That Will and Artemis kiss never happened. Everyone makes a mistake. No matter how terrible it was.
Anyway, seeing Artemis and Wally living their lives and having a baby gave me life, even if it was fake. It was a vision of the future. I will believe this until there is confirmation that Wally will not come back.
Did anyone else cry when Artemis was so desperate to, but Wally wouldn’t let that happen (the real Wally would do that)? They are a great example of a healthy relationship with all the love and support they have for each other. I want that.

Behind the Dark Sunglasses
Summary: All Wally wants to do is to enjoy his time with his handsome boyfriend Nightwing. However, he can't stand his dark sunglasses and truly wants to know who he truly is because he is dying to know what color his eyes were. Will he finally tell him?
Disclaimer: I do not own anything from the DC or the YJ universe!!! Just the plot lol.
AN: I am back with another Birdlfash fic!! Gosh, I just fucking love these two togetherrrrrrr and I hope that you guys will enjoy this little beauty. Sadly it is not smutyyyyy but there is somewhat sexual content in here lol.
Wally West has no idea if heaven is even real but hey, he lives in a world with superheroes and he’s one of them, so anything is possible at this point these days. Right now, at this moment, this feels like he’s in heaven. “Fuck,” he muttered through grounded teeth, throwing his head back and closed his green eyes and used a hand to grab a fist full of dark hair that was between his legs. “Babe. Shit.”
He heard a low chuckle that he knows all too well and had opened one eye to see his raven-haired boyfriend stroking his member with a hand as he smirked up at the older speedster above him. “Enjoying this?” he asked him, using another hand to push up his dark sunglasses that he would always wear whenever he’s not in his Nightwing uniform.
Wally bit his lower lip so he could focus the warm touch that was on him, frowning when he had looked down at the younger hero’s face or what he could see because of his stupid sunglasses. He sighed. “I would be enjoying it a lot more if I could see your eyes, Nightwing,” he said with a sigh.
He watched Nightwing move away from his legs and knew that the moment between them had ended because of what he had said. The two heroes were silent as he had put himself back into his boxers and jeans that he was wearing, watching Nightwing walking over to sit in his desk chair with a deep frown on his face. “Wing…” he started, running a hand through his short red hair.
“You know why I can’t tell you.”
Wally rolled his forest orbs with a snort and leaned back on his bed until his back touched the headboard. “Yea. I know. It’s because of Batman and his stupid rules. I just thought… that since…never mind. Forget it.”
Neither of them said anything after a while and Wally watched the younger hero fiddling over his computer that was attached to his watch and Wally sighed. “I’m sorry for ruining things.”
Nightwing turned Wally’s desk chair around to stare at his older boyfriend as he folded his arms over his chest. “You didn’t. You have no idea how much I want to tell you about me,” he said with a quiet sigh, threading his fingers through his short black hair.
“Can’t you just simply ask him if it is okay? I mean, I told you since the first day The Team was formed,” Wally reminded him in a matter-of-fact tone, shaking his head as he leaned off the headboard and crawled over to the edge of the bed. “I just…” he blushed before continuing. “I just want to see what’s behind those dark sunglasses, especially if things were to get heated again.”
The younger man that was across from the speedster cleared his throat and shifted in his seat nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. “I know Wally. It’s just…” Nightwing paused as he tried to think of a way to explain the situation. “It’s complicated with him. Even if I do try and talk to him it’s still going to be a no.”
Wally studied him for a moment, trying to decide if he truly believes in what he was saying to him. Wally truly understands that the Dark Knight has strict rules when it’s about revealing their secret identity. Heck, he remembers asking his uncle if he knew who Batman truly was and even he didn’t know. He could understand the hesitation of revealing it to him. It makes him slightly wonder if there’s more to it than just the rule that Batman had created.
“There isn’t something else is there? Perhaps another reason as to why I haven’t seen your eyes yet?” The speedster asked slowly, watching his boyfriend’s shoulders tensed up at the question. “There is… isn’t there?”
“If people find out who we are… our enemies can use that against the people that we tell.” Nightwing told him, knowing that it was half the truth in his words. He truly wishes that Wally would drop it and they could go back to what they were doing before. However, he knows how persistent his boyfriend can be at times and he also know that he won’t drop it unless he gets a real answer.
Wally leaned forward on the bed and stared at the younger hero, wishing that he could see what kind of facial expression he was making. He honestly wonders if his eyes were blue, or green or heck hazel. “I understand that babe,” he told him. “But I believe that there’s more to it than that. Am I right?” he asked, hiking a brow at him.
Nightwing didn’t answer him right away and Wally knew that he was right after all. Wally nibbled at his lower lip, trying to think of a way to break the awkward silence that had followed between them. “At least tell me that you’re not a serial killer,” he says in a joking manner and his upper lip curled up when his boyfriend scoffed at him. “That’s not really an answer. I gotta know what I’m dealing with here.”
“No, Wally. I am definitely not a serial killer,” Nightwing told him with a shake of his head. “It’s just…” There was a pause. “I don’t want you to think differently about me if you were to discover my identity,” he said to him honestly as he took a deep breath.
Wally stared at him with wide eyes and got up from his bed to kneel in front of Nightwing. He used his thumb to lift his chin and even though he was wearing sunglasses, he knew that he was staring directly into his green eyes. “Even if you are a serial killer. It wouldn’t change the way that I feel about you, Nightwing. You can trust me. I know that I am an annoying speedster who likes to eat a lot and don’t know when to shut my mouth at times, but I do know on how to shut the fuck up when I need to. Just tell Batman that okay? Maybe then he can finally let you tell me because I am so dying to know what color your eyes are,” he leaned in to give Nightwing a chaste kiss on his lips. “I love you. So damn much.”
Wally knows that it was rare for Nightwing to cry and when he saw a train of tears flowing from his sunglasses, he gently wipes them off with his fingers. “I love you too, Wally and…” Wally froze when he watched Nightwing reached up with shaky fingers to slowly take off his sunglasses. “And I want—”
Wally reached up with his hands to stop Nightwing from removing them. “Babe, I don’t want you to get into trouble. If he finds out…”
“Didn’t you just tell me a moment ago that you know when to shut the fuck up when you need to?”
Wally pressed his lips together in a thin line and rolled his eyes at him. “Yes. But we both know how Batman is. He’s gonna know that you—”
A pair of lips made Wally stop talking and he had moaned when Nightwing’s teeth had bit his lower lip to open it so his tongue to slip inside his mouth. Wally placed a hand onto his chest to gently push him away and licked his lips. “Are you absolutely sure you want to go against Batman’s orders?” he asked breathlessly, gulping when he saw Nightwing’s hands reached up to touch the handles of his sunglasses. “Wing.”
Neither of them said anything to each other as Nightwing slowly took off his dark sunglasses and Wally squinted his eyes as he tried to figure out why his eyes were close and why the heck he had looked so familiar even though he has not seen his eyes yet. “You can back out anytime. I won’t be mad,” he promised him in a reassuringly way.
“No. I want to do this. Just…don’t freak out, okay?”
Wally cocked his head to the side in confusion by his comment and was about ask him what he had meant by that, but his question was caught in throat when Nightwing had finally open his eyes and Wally’s whole body froze when he did.
Blue. His eyes were blue.
It was so blue, Wally thought he was staring into an ocean and the more he stared into them deeply he was finding himself lost in them and honestly, he wouldn’t mind being lost in them and the more he had studied his boyfriend’s face the more he realized as to why he had looked so familiar to him. He had to blink several times in order to make sure his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him and even rubbed them just in case.
“R-Richard Grayson? You’re—You’re—"
“Actually… I prefer to be called Dick Grayson,” Dick corrected, clearing his throat as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He sat still in the desk chair when Wally continued to stare at him in shock. “Wally—” he started, trying to come up a way to make this whole Secret Identity Reveal less awkward.
“It makes sense,” Wally interrupted him, eyeing him up and down. “As to why the Dark Knight was so harsh on the whole ID thing…which means,” his mouth fell open as the pieces fell into place the more he had thought he had thought about it. “No way…”
Dick Grayson knew what his older boyfriend was smart and that he had figured out the reason by himself but waited until he had said the words before saying anything else. He sucked in a deep breath when wide green eyes met his blue ones and knew what was coming next when he had opened his mouth again.
“Bruce Wayne is Batman.”
Wally watched Dick nod at him slightly and Wally’s mouth made a O shape in shock and Dick sucked in another deep breath as he waits for him to speak again. “You really have pretty eyes, Dick.”
Dick blinked several times as he processed as to what the redheaded speedster just said. He was confused about his statement. Shouldn’t he be more concerned about more important matter at hand? “Is that the only thing that matters right now?” he asked, hiking up a brow at him.
Wally scratched the top of his head as he shrugged his shoulders. “I mean did you want me to freak out over the fact that the billionaire is freaking Batman and that you’re Nightwing?” he asked him, cocking his head to the side when Dick’s shoulders stiffen. The speedster shook his head. “Because I don’t care about that kind of stuff. You know me better than that.” Wally walked closer to where Dick was at his desk and leaned in closer to him when he had brought his face closer to his. “You could be a stripper and I would still love you.”
Dick rolled his sapphire eyes at him. “You’re such a—"
“Sap?” Wally suggested, wiggling his eyebrows when the raven-haired hero snorted at him. He cleared his throat and leaned in to brush his nose against his boyfriend. “I’m being for real though. I would still love you. No matter what, babe.”
“I know,” Dick said with a huge blush on his face. “And I also love you too. Thank you for accepting me.”
“I will always accept you. Don’t forget that. Ever.”

so i read the big long young just us kon vs yja conner post. (amazing analysis btw) but i have another question about your thoughts on superboy as a character. So in the dc animated universe (that's over now but whatever) there's the Reign of the Supermen movie, and in that one Kon learns that Lex is his dad very very very early on. And since you said that you think Conner learning about Lex early was the biggest thing that changed it, I was wondering if you have thoughts on DCAU Superboy?
awh thank you! i am so pleasantly surprised people actually read that
[link if u are only seeing this post and want to read the other one]
BUT AH YES THAT BOI i very nearly included a section on this version of him in the other post but decided not to just because it was. already nearly 6k words. however im glad you asked this because I DO have thoughts on him (sorry no pictures this time just words):
My ultimate thought regarding him is: the Reign of the Supermen movie managed to create a Superboy that the Lex reveal wasn’t anywhere near as big a deal for, compared to his other versions. Which I personally think was really cool to see!
This reveal having a smaller impact allowed him to maintain what was basically his 90′s comic characterization even after it, instead of going deep into broody tt 2003 territory or being anything like cartoon yj Conner.
Though, that now raises the question of why it has such a lesser impact
In this setting, he already had an association with Luthor from basically the moment he’s in the movie. Here, he is LexCorp’s Superman, rather than him partnering with Tana’s news station like in the comic (because they chose to understandably omit Tana. Also, trying to adapt the actual role Lex had in the comic version of this whole event would be a mess especially because this was during that era where Lex had like... faked his death, was pretending to be his own illegitimate son, had long hair, and was dating Supergirl? it was very weird, and understandably a movie adaptation wouldn’t wanna touch any of that with a 10ft pole. In general the Reign of the Supemen movie changed SO MUCH from the original comic, but I think did a pretty good job of integrating a lot of the spirit of the story into something new. I haven’t rewatched it since reading the comic though, so I might be looking through memory-fogged rose-tinted glasses, but I plan on doing so soon and will prob talk about it).
Anyways, even before the actual reveal that Lex was also one of his DNA dads, Lex is out here acting like he’s Conner’s stage dad and... is literally in charge of him. Thus, even though obviously Lex still isn’t a great guy in this universe, it has nowhere near the same impact as finding out ‘renowned supervillain, that I have seen heroes go up against time and time again, is my dad!’ It’s more like finding out ‘oh my weird controlling boss is actually my dad?’ Still weird, still a lot to deal with, and he still gets sulky for a bit after finding out, but it’s way less drastic.
Not sure if I’m going to be able to articulate this next point well, but there’s another thing I think that kinda factors into it too. In my other post I had talked specifically about how not only the timing of finding this out was relevant, but also how the level of confidence Kon had in who he was as a person at the time mattered.
In the comics, when Superboy found out, he had been very confident in himself and been an established hero for years and thus learning this new information made him (to some extent at least) feel like his whole life had been a lie, and he now felt he was a danger because of how evil Lex is known to be. [Also of note: not only was he worried about hurting his team, but this happened after the point where he’d started living with the Kents. He had a lot of anxiety around thinking Clark wouldn’t trust him to live with his parents if he knew, and fear that he might hurt them.]
In the Young Justice cartoon, when Superboy found out, he had confidence in his abilities as I said before, but he still didn’t really know who he was. He still never got to experience trying to be Superman like he had expressed always wanting to, because he was brought into a world that already had a Superman. So this revelation is just adding onto a pile of confusion. [And I believe (I haven’t watched season one of yj in a while so this might not be correct) that at the point he finds out, Lex was already a known adversary of heroes & The Team themselves. So the fact that someone they were actively going up against had a connection to him (and was manipulating him through the patches) was a point of concern.]
Then we look at movie Superboy. He’s cocky and pretty confident in himself and his abilities, and was getting to shoot his shot at filling that Superman role right away, just like his comic counterpart. But he doesn’t go years believing a lie about himself, since he finds out about the Luthor connection so early. At the time of the reveal he also doesn’t have the same connections to other people (either the Teen Titans & The Kents like the comics or The Team in the cartoon), meaning he’s not going to angst over being a potential danger to all of them.
Also... he finds it out while he’s still actively working under Lex. In the comics, he finds out from an email he and Tim get while they’re at Titans Tower. In the cartoon Lex baits him to meet somewhere alone to tell him, before demonstrating he has a code word that effects him. In the movie, Lex brings him down to the very lab he was cloned in while lecturing him, because he works for Lex, and the reveal happens because of one of the scientists. It’s just such a wildly different circumstance for the reveal to happen under, because movie Superboy doesn’t see Lex through the same “only exists to me as a villain” lens his comic & cartoon counterparts do.... he’s basically just his overbearing boss at the time.
Like yes this is where the seams start to unravel, because Superboy then realizes ‘oh god Lex was bringing me down there to kill me then just decided against it’, but he’s going through an entirely different struggle with that than what his other counterparts had going on. Also by having this reveal happen in the middle of the movie like, before the final battle and everything, he doesn’t really have time to dwell on all of this. He’s gotta go stop Cyborg Superman with the others he doesn’t have time to go ‘angst angst angst’ about it for long!!
This also means that by the time he met Superman, Superboy already knew about the Lex connection. In both the comics and the yj cartoon, Clark and Conner met and knew each other (not necessarily in a close way in the yj cartoon BUT regardless) before Conner found this out. Meaning it was something that he kept a secret from Clark for a period of time, as it ate away at him. But here, since he finds out before Clark is even active and alive again, it’s not something he ever needs to hide! Like he deadass tells Lois about it the first time he sees her after he found out.
SO to summarize, the Lex reveal is way less drastic for this version of Conner because:
Superboy and Lex had a completely different dynamic at the time of the reveal than any other versions
Superboy in this setting didn’t have as many connections to others/wasn’t on a team at the time he found out, meaning there were less people he’d be concerned about putting in danger
Superboy never felt the need to keep this a secret from anyone for any extended period of time
Honestly I would have loved to see more things with this Superboy because it puts him in this unique position of having already faced this big challenge (dealing with Lex being a DNA dad) but not letting it bring him too deep into the angst, he’s not hiding it from anyone, he can just kinda... exist as himself! But noooo Apokolips War had to. Do that. that whole thing.

Dream Over
SSA Spinoff ✧ Tim Drake ✧ Subconscious Link Anon: the Subconscious link with Tim Drake(Young Justice version) Note: Sadly, Tim barely had any spotlight in YJ so I’m writing from headcanon here. Words: 1,957
“Tim! Behind you!”
You shout on reflex and stop paying attention to your own surroundings. Tim knew it was there. He acts on reflex, not even looking, and shuts it down before it could take a bite at him. But you’re not so lucky.
As Tim turns around, he witnesses the very moment an undead bites into your wrist. You scream in agony and it makes the rest of his senses numb. Your pain was vibrating through the air and he can feel it.
You can feel its teeth boring deeper into your skin until it’s gnawing at your bone. Blood is oozing out and dripping on the ground. You try to pull your arm back which only makes it bite harder.
You kick the zombie on the side of its head and it finally lets go of your bleeding and mangled limb. The absence of your voice knocks Tim back to his senses. He grabs you and drags you away from the rest of the horde, hacking and slashing them out of the way.
The Narrows is a great place for escaping hordes because of its network of alleyways. Tim finds a hidden basement door and the two of you hide inside. You look around the small studio that used to be somebody’s office. There were blueprints, corkboards, and whiteboards hangup on the walls lit up by green glowing question marks littered all over the room.
“What is this place?” you whisper.
You sit down on a rolling stool and watch Tim go through a chest and take out a medical kit and a saw. You immediately stand back up.
“Woah--”
“We gotta cut it off, Y/N, before the infection spreads.”
You back off slowly. “Na uh. No way. It’s one thing to be bit by a zombie and another to get my hand cut off.”
Tim takes two steps forward for every step you take back. “You have to trust me.”
You stomp your foot in place and glare at him. “Hell no. Dream over.”
As soon as the words leave your lips, your eyes are forced open and you’re back in your bedroom. You blink three times before you assess your surroundings, making sure you really are in your room.
Tim’s subconscious is a lot stronger than yours, which means he mostly controls everything that happens in the dreamscape. But you talked about it and decided to create a safe word. ‘Dream over’. Anytime any one of you says it, you’ll both wake up.
But that doesn’t mean you trust the system. Whenever you’re dreaming with Tim, everything feels so fixed and logical, as if you’re actually experiencing everything consciously. There are no time jumps and unbelievable events. It’s hard to tell it apart from real life.
Even the apocalypse dreams Tim cooks up for you two feels real. As if Gotham was really hit by a new form of Scarecrow fear toxin that turned everyone into zombies. Tim even did an analysis on the toxin and came up with the result that Scarecrow mutated it with components from rabies.
Your phone lights up and rings with Tim’s peaceful sleeping face displayed on it.
“I sooooo cannot believe you right now.”
“You would have turned if I didn’t--”
“Tim. You told me we were going to have a zombie apocalypse adventure tonight. Not another simulation!”
Tim is quiet for a second before he answers you, “I thought it was a great opportunity to test out plan Z.”
Plan Z. Not because it’s his 26th plan. No way. Tim has about 72 plans, that you know of and have dreamed through so far. All plans for sudden world-ending events. You definitely know what the Z stands for in this one.
“You could have let me turn then we could have reenacted human zombie relationship tropes-- Wait. Is cutting off my arm part of your plan Z?”
“It’s just a contingency--”
“Tim!”
“You wouldn’t have gotten bitten if you just stuck to the plan. We were supposed to be assessing the area. No noise. No muss. No fuss.”
You slump in your bed and pout at the phone. “Oh, well, forgive me for caring about you enough that I would risk my life in the process. Won’t happen again.”
“Doubt it,” he teases. You place the phone in front of you and stick your tongue out. “How about we go back to sleep and I’ll make it up to you?” he says. “No more simulations tonight. I promise.”
The fact that Tim thinks of absolutely everything also means that he creates the best worlds. Tamaran. New Genesis. Even his rendition of Mars feels real. Your favorite so far is his version of Themyscira.
Of course, it’s not like Tim would’ve actually been to all of them. Magical places like that are only pipe dreams for born and raised Gothamites. Maybe Batman’s children have been to some of them. But you and Tim, all you’ve ever known are the streets, alleyways, and rooftops of Gotham.
“Where are we going?”
Tim smiles. He can already hear how excited you are. “Go to sleep, Y/N.”
You look at the time on your phone and it’s half past five. You have classes in the morning and you don’t really trust that Tim would wake you up in time. But you bite your lips and think about what could be waiting for you in the dreamscape.
You close your eyes and thankfully sleep comes to you quickly.
When you open them, the first thing you see is your hair floating in front of you. Your arms move slowly against the new gravity as you pull your hair back. Suddenly, it’s clear. You’re floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Deep underwater, right in front of the majestic gates of Atlantis.
You open your mouth in awe and a bubble comes out of it. You quickly close your mouth and forget that you don’t know how to breathe underwater. But as you hold in your breath, you don’t feel the urge to take in oxygen.
You see small bubbles fluttering about coming from your side. Tim is chuckling as he watches you. He points to his neck and he has gills opening and closing. You quickly feel your own and it almost grossest you out and excites you at the same time.
‘Come on.’
You stare at him with wide eyes.
‘I can hear your thoughts!’
Tim rolls his eyes at you with a smile.
‘Every time.’
You’ve had other dreams where you and Tim would communicate telepathically. It’s not something you knew you could do with your links but Tim had figured it all out. After all, in the dreamscape, both of your subconscious are already connected. It was just a matter of opening your mind to each other.
Tim leads you to the gates of Atlantis and you watch in awe as the guards open them. It’s not like any city you’ve ever seen. There are no roads or paths. The buildings are made from overgrown corals with other Atlanteans swimming in and out of it. The sun’s rays are slipping through the water's surface like small thin beams scattered about.
Tim swims over to one of the overgrown foliage decorating the city.
‘They use magic to make the kelp grow this big.’
‘Magic? Did you make that up or did you read it in a Justice League journal?’
Tim chuckles, making small bubbles float around him.
‘You’re messing with me aren’t you?’
Tim stops chuckling and he puts his arms on your shoulders.
‘I swear I’m not. I’ll show you.’
You swim after Tim. He leads you into a dome-like enclosure with a small platform in the middle. You’re about to swim to the middle when Tim stops you.
Across the dome, a figure emerges from the shadows.
‘Is that-- That’s Aquaman!’
He towered over the two of you. The dome’s ceiling only made him look bigger and more intimidating.
‘Are you allowed to just conjure up League members like this? This feels blasphemous.’
Tim shakes his head and holds your shoulders to keep your eyes forward but Aquaman is just standing in the middle of the dome. Waiting.
‘Oh right.’
Tim has visited Atlantis a few times but he’s never seen them perform their magic. The only magic he’s observed an Atlantean do is in combat.
You grab Tim when he takes a step forward.
‘What are you doing?’
Tim gently peels off your hands and smiles.
‘Remember. This is just a dream, Y/N.’
You blink at him as he walks off. Then you scowl and cross your arms over your chest.
‘I know that. You’re the one who takes this stuff way overboard.’
‘Minds still linked.’
You stick your tongue out at him.
As soon as Tim is in the middle, Aquaman changes his stance for combat. Then the markings along his arms light up a cerulean hue, glowing in the water. He brings his arms back, grabbing at the water, and whipping it at Tim, knocking him down.
‘Tim!’
He’s propped up on his elbows and he shakes his head.
‘Woah. Guess I left the difficulty level on hard.’
‘Oh my god. This is another simulation, isn’t it? What plan is this? For when the Justice League goes rouge?’
‘No, that’s Blackest Day--’
Aquaman sends another wave at Tim before he could get up, making him fly against one of the pillars of the dome. You watch Tim’s body float down with your fists clenched.
You stand in front of Aquaman and your arms light up, bathing you in an aquamarine glow. You have no idea how Atlantean magic works but this is your dreamscape and anything goes so long as you can believe it.
The water around you starts to stir and you see a small whirlpool growing beneath Aquaman. You just want to stop him from attacking Tim. The whirlpool starts getting bigger. When Aquaman notices it, it’s strong enough to keep him in.
You keep your focus until the whirlpool grows enough in size that Aquaman is no longer underwater and gasping on the ground. You’ve created a pocket in the middle of the ocean and trapped Aquaman inside it.
‘Woah, YN. ‘ Tim floats beside you. ‘I don’t think whirlpools actually do that.’
Tim’s thoughts are too much for you and your hold releases the water back around Aquaman. You immediately grab Tim by the gills, ‘I’m trying to help you! Stop distracting me with your logic.’
Tim blinks at you for a second before he starts laughing, filling the gap between you with bubbles. ‘You know he can breathe on land, right?’
Your eyes widen and your cheeks redden, ‘I knew that!’ You turn around to face him again but Aquaman is gone.
‘I made him go.’ Tim takes your hand. ‘I always forget that anything is possible here. I mean… I just watched you do Atlantean magic. How did it feel?’
You bite your lip and turn to the side, letting your hair create a floating wall between you and Tim, hiding the blush that keeps spreading.
‘The truth? I kind of feel like a level 99 waterbender.’
Tim stares at you before he scoffs. It’s one of those little ones he always does with his eyes closed and mouth open like he’s silently laughing. ‘Sometimes I forget you’re such a nerd.’
You smirk and squeeze his hand. ‘Coming from you, that’s insulting.’
Tim smiles at you and then leans in slowly, using his other hand to slowly turn your face to him. He leaves a small kiss on your red cheeks. Then gently tugs on your hand.
‘Come on. You can show me Atlantis, Y/N.’

Harry + betrayed (looks at a&s au stuff like :3c)
looks at you like 🔪
===
Every time the mug came out of the steaming hot dishwasher, Harry clasped it in both hands. The ceramic was always scalding, and his palms always threatened to blister. Clouds reeking of dishwasher detergent lifted and swept over his forearm, humid as a summer’s stifling rain, its pungency sickening his heart.
He hated to wash this mug.
Bright and early at six o’clock every morning, Harry made coffee. It steeped dark and bitter, just how they liked it. The first pour went into his mug; the second filled his own. Then both were taken to the small, round table in the corner of their kitchen. Harry set the mug down on the wood itself to the right of the round, rattan woven placemats they’d found in a bargain bin at Williams-Sonoma. Harry’s coffee went on the placemat itself, edging the rim, at his left.
How charming it was to have their mugs across from each other like that. He always liked how they seemed to be having a conversation through the coffee’s dissipating flames of white steam. As they drained their caffeine and burned their throats, the heat shocking their stomachs, they’d talk.
Talking didn’t necessarily mean words were used. No, words weren’t his forte, though he relished every sound that rolled off his tongue. He spoke with his face and through his hands, and if Harry ever had his way, he’d spend the hours morn to midnight simply gazing at his face.
Two hours later, Harry stood and took the cold, untouched mugs to the sink. Down the drain went the wasted coffee, dumped out at the same time. A swish of water from the faucet did a quick and fine job of cleaning them out, and Harry’s went, dripping, onto the counter. Then he ran the water again to piping hot, abusing skin rough and chapped from this daily ritual of cleaning, cleaning out his ice cold coffee, cleaning, cleaning out the dots of mold he’d let grow for two weeks because he couldn’t let that go, cleaning, cleaning out that damn spot, that damn spot, that damn spot.
The mug was as hot as it was when it came out of the dishwasher, and Harry clasped it in both hands. His teeth tried to send their roots into his skull with his jaw clamped like that, and he wished his tongue, sucked hard to the roof of his mouth and tastebuds rough as sandpaper, would swell and choke him. Every time it didn’t, which was every morning, every single morning for the past three years, Harry called it betrayal.
His kiss held tender on the warm rim. It was the last place his lips had laid where Harry could kiss him, for he couldn’t kiss his own cheek. Like every morning, his eyes slipped closed and he thought of their daily coffee date at their kitchen table. Autumn was in full golden, fiery bloom. People swarmed to Vermont to lose their breath to the vast garden of nature’s heavenly, untamed wildfire that never burned.
Every single fucking morning it was autumn again, the mug had been scorching hot, then chilly, the phantom pressure of his kiss lingered on his cheek, and Harry tried to kiss him back too on ceramic that had been the last tangible thing to experience his lips.
Today, he set the mug down on the counter alongside the one in its puddle. The water brimmed its mismatched mate immediately and would leave an incomplete circle in its wake after Harry would take it up and wrap it in a soft towel. That puddle would dry on its lonesome over the course of as many minutes; Harry wrapped up his personal mug, too.
Remaining coffee got poured and locked in a thermos. They were placed in the coveted seat beside the driver’s - shotgun! one’s supposed to yell to reserve it for themselves - tucked safely behind a plain old box.
The ignition chittered on. Rancid boomed and rattled the Jeep’s speakers. Harry absently wiggled the shiny, custom-made Magic Eight Ball fortune teller stick shift knob. He glanced down. ‘It is decidedly so,’ promised the triangular face washed behind blue, its text pressed on the circular window.
A draw; and exhale. The YJ Wrangler shifted into gear, easing back out of the driveway, Harry’s arm slung around the shotgun seat and head turned to watch over his shoulder as he safely maneuvered to their personal gravel road leading to and from their remote, comfortable Vermont hideaway.
It’d probably take five, six hours, give or take, to get to Maine. He was looking forward to their coffee date. Five out of the seven days of the week Harry drove to Maine to hang out on the shore of Toluca Lake. Coffee was served into their mugs; he kept his at his side, and his tucked into the sand and mud at the water’s breach.
Sometimes he’d talk, update his husband on his books, their daughter, the latest news that did and didn’t matter. Other times he’d sit in silence, listening and watching the new face of a man he loved. Harry was there in rain, sleet, and snow. He’d all but frozen his ass off before out there and sweated buckets in the heat. But they had their spot, and that’s where he’d always sit.
Silent Hill rested to the south. They took a vacation there once. Harry hates how it looks out across Toluca. Take your fucking eyes somewhere else, he regularly thinks. Don’t fucking look at him.
It oversees. One day, Harry’s promised five days out of the seven in the week, he’s going to tear that town asunder by his own bare hands.
Tomorrow might be that day. Harry rises to his feet. It is decidedly so. He fetches the Jeep’s constant tenant for the last three years. It is decidedly so.
“I hope you liked your coffee, honey,” he says to the lake lapping at his boots as he wades into snapping cold. “So, I asked the eight ball if I’d see you today,” Harry Mason offhandedly tells his husband residing in the lake. “Guess what it said? ‘It is decidedly so.’ Take that as you will. I know you know what I’ve planned to do, honeylove. Don’t get up in my tits about it,” warns the older man, now appropriately submerged mid-chest. “I’m not gonna do it today. Doesn’t feel right. But I thought it’d be nice to see you, anyway.”
“So you’re wondering why I brought the box in with me? Well, I’m glad you asked! For one, I fixed it up and made it waterproof,” he smirks, cradling it in his arm and popping it open. “And two.. c’mon, now. You know I’d lose these if I didn’t keep ‘em in here.”
Two pendants, no bigger than his thumbnail, each on their own thin chain, dangled just skimming the water’s surface. Two pendants, amber and glinting, somehow even in the thick grey mist rolling in from Silent Hill. “Check these out. I got ‘em made a few months ago and I’ve just now had the balls to bring ‘em out. It’s because the eight ball said I’d see you today. So.. here. One of them’s for you. I figure you can make yours glow in there, firefly. You have a knack for lightin’ up the dark.”
Harry chuckles, wagging his head back and forth, mocking himself. “Yeah, yeah, mushy, whatever, I’m a dork. Thbhtghbh. What’re you gonna do, divorce me? Shoulda thought about that before you went fishing, babe.” He collects the chains and their sculpted fireflies into his fist. One kiss is enough for both. Then he smiled, looked into the lake, and felt comforted by the thought that that sweet, pale man with yellow wheat field hair was watching him.
Projection is a very real, very psychedelic thing, for sometimes, Harry thinks he can see his face.
The water sways around his wrist. He gazes into Toluca Lake and waits, and hopes that the magic of the eight ball is true.
Will I get to see James today?
It is decidedly so.
If he were to do it all over again from the top, do you think he’d still do it this way?
It is decidedly so.
Does he know I love him?
It is decidedly so.
Does he know I’ll never forgive him?
It is decidedly so.
When the day comes, I’ll kill that motherfucker myself. I dunno how it’s gonna happen, but it’s gonna happen. Fucking asshole. He knows that, right?
….
.. right?
“I gotta go soon, babe,” Harry murmurs to his husband, James Mason (formerly Sunderland). “I’m gonna leave one with you. I’ll be back tomorrow. If you wanna trade, we can. Fuck, I don’t wanna get a fuckin’ yeast infection out here,” he gripes, turning to wade out of the lake. “Seriously, James. Not like a yeast infection wouldn’t stop me from comin’ out here but you bet your ass you’re gonna hear all fucking about it, because it will be your fault, and I fucking hate you, so goddamn fucking much, honeylove.”
Harry makes it out to the shore. He takes the box to its honored seat in shotgun! James’s coffee gets thrown into Toluca; he pours his out where he’d sat. Then the mason with rusted tools scans his exhausted, old, heavily lined eyes across the scenic lake where an orange (rare, so rare, extremely rare and mean everything) firefly swims. He’ll never get over the betrayal. It doesn’t matter if he understands it. It doesn’t matter that he’s (and he’s) been waiting for it long before they’d met.
After all those thousands of years of looking for each other, this is how he chooses to betray him: like Judas, with a kiss.
A kiss on a ceramic mug that is going to be washed again today, and tomorrow morning, and will scald his hands.
A kiss, a kiss, a kiss from a man whose lips promised I love you with a simple brush. Lips Harry hasn’t felt in three years; his heart can break even more.
Will I ever get to kiss him again? Harry asks his stick shift as he drives towards his six (give or take) hour journey home to Vermont.
It is decidedly so, replies the eight ball.
Will it be soon? inquires a widowed man, widowed for the second time.
It is decidedly so, soothes the inky window.
When?
Turn right off this street, guides the knob too small to say so. Fifty miles out. It won’t take long.
Huh? I can barely see with all this fog. Where am I going?
To see James.
James? What’s he doing all the way out here?
Waiting for you.
.. waiting for me? I’ll get to see him again?! Jeez.. damn, I’ve got a splitting headache all of a sudden .. fifty miles to Silent Hill.. hrm, seems farther than I remember, but..
He’s waiting for you.
.. forgot to clean up the coffee at home.. m’sure it’ll be fine.. Cheryl’ll be over at some point.. heh.. can’t believe he wants to spend our anniversary in Silent Hill.. fuckin’ weirdo.. a vow renewal? And he calls me disgusting..
He’s waiting.
I’m comin’. I’ll be there soon, James. It’s gonna be alright. I can’t wait to see you. We’re gonna have a great vacation, just the two of us, aren’t we, sweetheart?
It is decidedly so.

Given that a lot of us are stuck inside with all this COVID-19 stuff, do you have any good TimKon fic recommendations to keep us more happily occupied?
Haha yes! I have this list from years ago but it is way past time for an update.
Disclaimer: these are just things I like, please heed all tags and warnings etc. I'm also not reccing any WIPs because unfinished fics kill me every time.
Crystal Clear by Merit andAnd I'll Tell You No Lies by caecily
Two short takes on soulmate tropes that have to go first because I love them so much, I love soulmate aus, Tim and Kon are soulmates, the end.
Where There's a Wish by LeeayreBeing Robin’s vessel is hard enough: the exhaustion, the life-threatening late night activities, the bruises and bullet holes and broken bones. Trying to hide all that from his incredibly suspicious, incredibly hot new roommate while maintaining his studies and placating his parents? Tim has never had it so hard. Especially since said roommate doesn’t actually know he’s Superboy.
So the setup for this is unusual, I'm not sure if it's based on anything but: superhero identities are Personas, independent (basically magical) personalities created by the wishes of a person or groups of people who act through hosts that have the will to manifest whatever that persona does. Basically: Robin is an independent persona, Tim shares his body with him and when Robin manifests the costume and all the gadgets appear. It's explained throughout the story, but just in case you start it and are like wtf is happening. This possibly should go in the thirds section because the actual pairings in this are: Robin/Tim, Red Robin/Tim, Tim/Kon, Red Robin/Tim/Kon, Red Robin/Superboy, and Red Robin/Superboy/Tim. Red Robin can also be kind of dubconny so watch out for that if it's a concern.
Wing Beats in Reverse by firefrightJason Todd is the third Robin, not the second, growing up in shadow of Tim Drake's death. Despite this, he still manages to form strong bonds with his new family. Especially Damian, who wishes to atone for his past mistakes with Jason's predecessor. But when he's fifteen, a mysterious red hooded figure kidnaps Jason from the rooftops of Gotham, and after that his life will never be the same again.
A Robin reversal AU (ie Damian is the eldest, Dick the youngest) that's Jason-centric but of course that doesn't lessen the Tim angst. Or the Kon angst when he finds out Tim is alive. Hopeful ending, but it doesn't fix everything.Other pairings: JayRoy, StephCass (barely)
Time Flies by by LaroyenaJon Kent is Superboy. Tim's gut instinct tells him that's wrong.(Timkon fix-it where reboot!Tim misses Kon like a phantom limb. And then he gets him back.)
Sometimes you just need to cry over the lack of Kon in your life and this fic provides the PERFECT excuse. Heartbreaking and then happy. (Also brings Colin back UNLIKE DC.)Other pairings: implied Clex
Not Completely Powerless After All by ChimaeraKittenNobody was quite prepared for the kid who runs the company to visit, but they manage, in fact, they might be pleasantly surprised; they weren't expecting him to be nice. Of course, they weren't expecting him to be a possible ninja either, but you gotta take the good with the bad.
Outsider POV!!! I have never watched Powerless so you definitely don't need to be familiar with it, this is just a glorious casefic told by someone who doesn’t know it’s a case.
Matters of the Heart by DMWith Clark off-world as an ambassador to Earth, Conner has to watch over Metropolis. Though it should be straightforward, there appears to be something amiss with seemingly random crimes happening around the city. Conner has a hunch that they’re connected and calls in his best friend to help. But as the two of them spend time together working the case, Conner realizes that his feelings for Tim might not be what he had thought.
A long casefic with feelings, basically everything I ever want.
Stumbling Home by bewaretheboojumIn his mid-twenties, Tim moves back to Gotham City after several years living abroad. He's feeling adrift, unfocused and a little off balance as he tries to re-establish a life in his home town.Kon is a fireman by day and superhero by night. When mysterious fires start cropping up in Metropolis, all signs point to arson. Who better to help him get to the bottom of this arson case than Tim? And really, it seems like Tim could use the distraction...
Another casefic with older TimKon. I didn't like the initial setup with Tim having abandoned his friends for years but it won me over in the end.
the honesty in your body by LaroyenaLuthor's tech saved Kon's life at the cost of his mind. Tim must take a feral Kon across space to restore his humanity... which is just as difficult as one may think.(Batman Omegaverse AU: unabashed TimKon porn detailing their original get-together in their early teens to their definite get-together in their late teens. But mostly porn.)
Yep, this is mostly omegaverse porn and it's excellent and I love it, I really don't know what else to tell you.Other pairings: BruDick
I'm Alone Here, I Think by unluckylokiSuperboy is fighting robots in San Francisco and remembers something that wasn't.There's a new priest in the Naxos temple appointed by Dream of the Endless.Kon is missing something. Tim is missing everything. One day Krypto practically drags Superboy to a remote island in Europe and there's a dark haired guy smiling at Kon like he knows him.Maybe he does.
Sandman crossover but I haven't read Sandman in 500 years so you don't need to know most of it. Kind of identity porn, but more...fraught. Excellent Tim angst (there...might be a pattern here) and I'll be honest I'm not very into all the witches and stuff but overall very enjoyable.
Nowhere But Forward by MishaBerryIt shouldn't have happened the way it did. When Kon finds Tim in Paris, it leads to a night that neither of them will ever forget, for better or for worse. Tim is then forced to confront something he's been denying about himself for a very long time, and Kon begins to question some things about himself. The road ahead is full of twists and turns, but there's nowhere to go but forward.
I really love long fics, but tbh I found this started to drag a little towards the end. I still enjoy it overall with delicious Tim angst.
Plus One SectionSometimes when pickings are slim we can try food we wouldn't normally eat, and sometimes it's delicious. Which is to say these are fics with Tim/Kon/Another Person. Don't go any further if this upsets your OTP soul, I completely understand.
TimKonBartTroika by glitterandlubeThis is kind of written like crack and definitely won't appeal to everyone, but it's a fix-it of preboot where instead of living with the Kents in Smallville and becoming the country boy of Teen Titans (2003) Kon moves to Gotham and then scores with Tim and eventually Bart. Follows the previous canon's timeline almost to the start of Red Robin. Some (honestly warranted) bashing of Steph but also of Lois Lane (???).Also contains explicit Tim/Dick.Other pairings: Clex, JayDick
TimKonCassieTrymmetry by glymrWhy do they feel like something's missing?
Set in a universe where Kryptonians form triad soulbonds. Kon and Cassie have both always been thinking about Tim when they're together, and after Kon comes back they can no longer deny it. They have to find Tim. I wish this was ten times longer.

Heart of the Hoard by firefrightJason is a knight on a mission to save a captive young woman from a cruel and vicious dragon. However, when Jason reaches the keep the girl is kept in, it quickly becomes clear that not all is as it seems with his quest. For starters, Lady Timothea is actually Lord Timothy, and - as Jason soon discovers - he's hardly a prisoner in his tower.
Perfect because Kon is an ACTUAL DRAGON though it does lean on his YJ cartoon characterization.
I (Don't) Want to Believe by chibinightowl and strikeyourcolors
FBI agents Tim Drake and Conner Kent are sent to Arkham Heights High School to investigate a series of unexplainable incidents that have both staff and students on edge. Tim's firmly of the opinion the school is haunted while Kon is positive the occurrences can be explained in a more reasonable manner. After all, he doesn't believe in ghosts.Right? Right?
Horror casefic where Tim had a previous thing with Jason but also a thing with Kon so sharing is the way to go, especially when you're more (or maybe just equally) concerned about being murdered by ghosts in a haunted former asylum.
Okay I am stopping now because otherwise I will continue forever. I hope this satisfies some hunger.

Do you have any thoughts about Raven and Young Justice? I desperately want Ravento be in Young Justice Phantoms, I also desperately want Tara to do the voice, I can’t imagine anyone but her as Raven
I’m also dying for Raven to be in YJ.
And I have many thoughts about her in YJ, I mean my headcanon list is just a small slice of all my thoughts about Raven and Young Justice (X)
While, I would love if she became a main / important character - maybe even with a whole episode to introduce to her I’m just brimming with story ideas of how they could do it. One introduction-episode idea I had, legitimately made me tear up and cry and I think it would really hit home the tragedy of Raven.
Of course, there’s a very good chance Raven won’t be a major character. But even if she’s just a minor character or maybe only has a one-episode appearance, I think it’ll just be nice to see her. I know YJ is packed with so many characters and many people don’t want there to be anymore additions – but...
Raven is my girl! We gotta have her!
--
I have mixed feelings about Tara Strong reprising her role for Raven in YJ.
On the one hand, there is a reason why Tara is basically in everything -- She’s a fantastic voice actress.
Sometimes, it can be easy to forget, or at least I do at times, but she really is such a top tier quality actress.
For that reason alone, I would love for her to play Raven – simply because in general she does such a great job on selling you the characters she plays. She doesn’t do a funny voice; she actually acts.
Also, Tara Strong’s Raven was my first introduction to the character of Raven, a character who has become so near and dear to my heart.
Tara’s voice acting in Teen Titans elevated Raven to the status she has now – obviously there were other factors at play, but Tara’s voice gave Raven life. In addition, the two are intrinsically linked and associated with one another – for now and ever.
And for many, Tara will always be THE voice of Raven, not unlike yourself. So, I can definitely see why for so many, Tara is the only way to go about doing Raven.
But I definitely think another actress could do Raven justice and be amazing at voicing her.
Unfortunately, the one-time another actress took on the role of Raven in a major work, it wasn’t as good as Tara Strong’s portrayal.
In the DCAU, Taissa Farmiga plays Raven and this is my own personal opinion, but…
I thought it was just a poor “copy” of Tara’s Raven and it never felt all that genuine.
To be fair, I don’t think Taissa has done a lot of voice acting or really any at all. Plus, if she was getting specific acting directions, I can’t fault her for doing her job, but the voice just wasn’t there for me.
It came across as though Taissa was more focused on sounding deadpan and having a sarcastic tone, rather than acting. Therefore, her voice came across as less genuine. Also, some of Raven’s dialogue was simply just not great, so that probably didn’t help out Taissa in terms of doing Raven justice.
The voice was also inconsistent – sometimes Raven had a lot of inflection when she was just saying a normal sentence. Other times she was so deadpan and sarcastic, that it felt extremely callous and cruel – considering what she was actually talking about.
And I recently watched an interview that was just so applicable to Taissa doing Raven.
The voice actress, Nika Futterman talked about how she goes about playing characters that are iconic and have been done so many times before (by many different actresses).
She said she doesn’t listen to what other people have done, because then their voice (or that version of the character) can get stuck in her head and she may end up doing an imitation of that voice, rather than actually voicing the character herself (X).
And I think that’s what happened with Taissa. She probably watched some clips of Raven from Teen Titans for the role or maybe she watched the show as a fan (I don’t know) and thought –
That’s what Raven sounds like.
When I think she should’ve asked herself – what does this character sound like?
To be clear, I don’t believe Taissa wasn’t trying to imitate Tara, but for me it certainly came across as though Tara’s Raven got stuck in Taissa’s head and it shaped how she went about voicing Raven.
Again to be fair to Taissa, maybe the DCAU wanted Raven to sound like Raven from Teen Titans. Maybe that’s how Taissa was directed act, but if that’s case, why even bring in another actress at all? Why not just cast Tara?
Also, I will say that by the third movie, I thought Taissa had improved. Still not great, in my opinion, but I could hear an improvement.
-
In general, the problem with acting as a monotone or “emotionless” character, is that you still have to sell the emotion to the audience. Because usually, especially if it’s a main character, the character is far from emotionless – they just have difficulty expressing themselves and their emotions.
Portraying a monotone character is a lot harder than people think, because as a character, there absolutely needs to be an emotional connection with the audience. The actor needs to be able to not only convey a deadpan or monotone voice, but also be able to connect to the audience with emotion. That’s not an easy thing to do.
Sidenote: Voice recreation is an important aspect of voice acting and it’s a legitimate element to the craft. Sometimes an actor dies or they simple can’t reprise the role, so you need someone who can do the voice that’s already been set for the character – so there’s continuity for your audience.
I wasn’t trying to downplay that aspect of voice acting, but that’s not what happened with the DCAU, in regard to Taissa’s Raven.
Adriene Mischler also voiced Raven, in DC Online – and from the few clips I’ve heard – she did a pretty decent job. It sounds like her own take on Raven and while it’s not something to write home about, the voice still worked for what it was.
--
Back to the main point, I certainly wouldn’t complain if Tara reprised her role as Raven in YJ; but I would honestly love to see another actress take on the role and make Raven her own.
As much as I love Raven from TT, I just want to see a different version of Raven.
Also, considering that Tara is voicing Terra/Tara Markov, I think it might be better if another actress did Raven.
One minor problem, I had with Season 3 was that Khary Payton played the majority of the black men we saw.
To be clear --- Khary Payton is a fantastic voice actor. I mean the difference between Cyborg from Teen Titans and Aqualad from YJ – is just... astounding! He’s really skilled and deserves major recognition - I am in no way trying to insult his quality as an actor.
But the problem with the fact that he voiced so many characters that had a lot of dialogue in season 3- Kaldur/Aquaman, Jefferson/Black Lighting, Silas Stone, Brick, Black Manta – is that they all started to blur together.
Particularly Kaldur, Silas, and Jefferson. So, I would prefer if that was avoided in the future.
And I think YJ could do what they did for Cyborg in YJ for Raven, if she does ever make it to the show.
YJ had a nice nod to Khary Payton being the OG Cyborg.
There was a character – Ron Evers (pictured above)– who really had a similar build to Cyborg from Teen Titans and he was voiced by Khary Payton and he said Cyborg’s iconic phrase – Booyah!
Maybe I’m looking too deeply into that, but it felt like a nice recognition of the original voice actor who not only introduced so many to the character of Cyborg, and similar to Raven, who many see as being THE Cyborg.
At the same time though, the show still introduced us to a new version of the character and a new actor for the part.
If something like that happened with Raven, that could not only be fun but I think it would show appreciation and respect for Tara Strong’s work as Raven.
Now, if Tara Strong did voice Raven. I would prefer it if she did a different take on Raven, not just reprise her role from Teen Titans - and hearing her talk about her acting, I don’t see why she wouldn’t (X).
Similar to how Greg Cipes who voiced Beast Boy in Teen Titans, once more took the role of BB in Season 3 of YJ. While he’s not putting on a different voice, there is a clear difference between the two Beast Boys and their voices.
There is definitely a familiar feeling to Gar in season 3, but I never thought – oh, that’s just BB from TT. You know?
--
Basically, to answer your question (sorry for the rant you didn’t ask for).
I have many thoughts on Raven in regards to YJ. And I would love for her to make an appearance in YJ – whether it be big or small.
While I don’t have any qualms with Tara reprising the role once more and I certainly wouldn’t complain; I would prefer it if a different actress got to voice Raven. I would like the YJ version Raven to be different than TT’s version of Raven.
Thanks for the question Anon!!!!

Set In Stone - Don’t Tell Tim
If this is the first of this series you’re seeing click HERE
I put a read more so these don’t eat up my entire blog! Enjoy <3
People aren’t supposed to know the future, it was a lesson you’d learned the hard way and you weren’t about to break it for your possible future husband. It was still wrong, and it was your battle to fight not his.
“Come on Y/N you need to learn to focus your power’s short term while also use your brain to fight!” Bruce had taken to training you, and it was hard. But you had gotten better. You’d trained yourself to use a small amount of focus on only predicting the move right before it happened so you could fight too. Offense and defense together. And after a few months of training you were ready for your first Gotham patrol. You were strong and confident, you’d been anticipating this night for months.
Grappling through the streets was a thrill beyond words. Tim and Damian had joined you and Bruce, the comm was snug in your ear as you listened to Oracle tell you when and where to go. Everything was perfect. You could see yourself doing this forever.
There was another forever in your life, Tim Drake. Because of all the training you didn’t get around to meet Bart, who you later learned was Kid Flash, but it was fine because any hole in your heart was filled with Tim’s undying love. He’d trained with you, talked to you, and formed a bond closer than any. You and Tim were a dynamic duo to challenge Batman and Robin, you covered for him when we went with the YJ team and covered for you on off days where someone made the decision of their lifetime, effectively screwing up your day plans. Those days were rare, meaning most nights you and Tim swung around Gotham and its neighboring cities, fighting crime and falling in love.
Now several later you and Tim had taken a city of your own to defend, Tim had left the YJ team a few years back, moving up to the Justice League with his brother Dick. Years of adventures and loving moments built up until Tim took you back to his childhood room in the Wayne manor. Alfred had preserved it all those years, and it never changed. Completely covered in old paperwork and outdated tech it reminded you of your first day in this time you’d grown to call home. It was truly full circle. And to complete that circle was Tim, lowered on one knee as he asked for you to be his partner in every way for the rest of your lives. The love of your life, in the place you’d first met him for who he was, asking for you to be his for forever.
It was a yes. Tim scooped you up, shaking from nerves you told him he didn’t need. Being in his embrace you said something cheesy about how he could hug you for the rest of his life when his emergency Justice League alarm went off. “Flash is in danger in Central City, gotta go, catch you in a bit” Tim quickly pressed a kiss on your cheek before taking off. He didn’t notice you sink to the floor, knowing the future without having to look. Whispering to no one but yourself you cried “how could I be so selfish to not even try. What have I done” you clutched the carpet of Tim’s room, the same sheets still on the bed from when you made the decision that ended Bart Allen’s life.
“What have I done” was all you could think. You went home to your shared home with Tim. Curling up on your bed you waited for the timelines to disappear. And then the pain came. You watched billions of futures where the Flash saved thousands disappear, replaced with headlines begging for a new Central City savior. And they hurt, losing Bart Allen disrupted billions of possible timelines, but there was one that reduced you to tears. You watched as the future where Bart held you close to him, kissing his bride in front of your loved ones, the future where you seemed beyond happy, it faded away with Bartholomew Allen. And then it was done.
Tim came home, cheeks stained with tears as he crumpled on the floor of your bedroom, unable to carry himself to his bed. “He- he’s gone” was all Tim could whisper while you rushed to his side. “I know baby it’s okay I’m here, I’m so sorry Tim” Tim had lost his best friend on the night of his engagement, and all he could feel was heartbreak.
That was when you swore you’d take the secret behind Bart’s death to your grave. Tim didn’t need to know that he could’ve sacrificed himself to save his best friend, it would only break him more. And you would live your life carrying the pain so Tim didn’t have to, you saw it as your punishment for not trying to stop the future, for giving up. This was your burden to carry, your torture to live every time you saw the statue of the Flash in Central City, the city where you and Tim had moved to after Flash’s death, defending his city was the least you could do for your lost lover.
And it was the only future you could see, it was truly over.
~that’s the end of this storyline, a happiness burdened with loss, there has to be something better. Try Again?~
