#caution yap ahead#teen titans comics#bart allen#a year and a half in complete isolation just reading and reading because SOME PEOPLE in your life who are SUPPOSED to be family#made you feel utterly useless and your friends going through teen angst and relationships and secrets aren’t helping#so you force yourself into isolation to ‘catch up’ with the rest of the crowd because ‘you gotta grow up sometime too’#you’ve heard everyone say it all your life but after getting your knee blown up and then got surgery to fix it in a law breaking#no pain killers procedure where your biggest fear was dissappointing your family and not about the mass pain you were in#so you decided right after it was done to walk right to the library sit down and just read.. for a year and a half. alone. all to prove#yourself and to make those around you less annoyed with you#this is a comic Wally diss#I guess I just wish they showed us the emotional repercussions of this#the surgery was bad enough but to spend that long alone right after being in so much pain is devastating#they did mention his knee bothering him after these issues dropped so they get points for not completely forgetting it#and he was dropping all the facts after this so they weren’t completely forgetting it happened#I’m just curious why they left the isolation part out#not to mention he’s just moved states and his father figure is missing and he can’t do anything about that fact#and yeah I guess it was cool of teen titans to prove in cannon that Bart is smartTM#especially to a wider audience since more people were reading ttv3 rather than impulse 95#I wonder why he took on the kid flash costume and moniker though.. I mean he could’ve stayed as impulse and it wouldn’t change anything#it wasn’t a progression through his family legacy either because we’ve seen him be prepared to go from impulse right to flash#multiple times too#I think Geoff just hated impulse and changed him to kid flash because it fit the titans mold better..#which is RIDICULOUS because Bart was a titan before even his solo series began during new titans

If they made Absolute Flash (Bart Allen) what would you want to happen in his alternate universe?
This might not count since it’s still tied to his origin story but I kinda want to see an AU story where Bart was never rescued by Iris and taken out of the 30th century so thawne’s perfect little brainwashed Flash soldier project succeeds. He’s a soldier in an army of Bart clones headed by the president, his grandfather. Anyone who needs to die is killed in 2 seconds flat, even if they’re across the world. We’d follow Bart slowly realizing he’s more than a doll to president thawnes whim after he, by accident, gets separated from thawnes grip. Along the way back to thawne (maybe he looses his speed temporarily or something) he starts to come back to his own mind, having his own original thoughts etc. Then Bart meets his mom who has gone clinically insane after losing her child. Bart meets his dad who’s alive and taking care of his mom rather badly. He realizes his presence is making them worse so he leaves and begins to realize how tainted thawne has made him. For the first time he questions everything that’s ever happened to him, what he’s done to others, etc. Except there are thousands of Bart clones because the project was successful who are now turning on him because he’s accidentally escaped. Kill order is on and it’s impossible to escape a thousand super speeding soldiers. The story peaks into Bart realizing he can’t trust his memories to the point where neither he nor thawne even know if he’s a clone or the original anymore. Now he has to battle a bunch of his own clones while simultaneously questioning if he’s killing the original in this battle or if he’s the original. Then by the end he has the flash entering the speed force bit and turns into the white flash except he doesn’t die, instead he becomes like a roadman who travels the speed force as a cosmic being.
#under the cut is my answer to my own question although its more of a fanfic idea than a serious thought#it probably most definitely doesn’t work for the absolute universe though#just learning what else worlds means#bart allen#dc impulse#mochi speaks#absolute flash#i would like to read the entire thing before giving my opinion on it#the artsyle is nice though.. ten times better than other event comics I’ve seen

The first comic I ever read was a compilation of the first few issues of the 1998 Young Justice. I liked all the characters except for Tim, who I found boring as fuck. I try to read YJ fic but all the fics I find feel like Tim fics with a side of badly characterised YJ characters. If Kon & Bart show up in fic, it's almost always glued to Tim :(

Someone sent a fic prompt request to my old Dr. Stone ao3 and idk how to tell this poor soul that I don’t actually write or even engage with the fandom anymore because somewhere out there is my ex-partner who will crack me in the knees emotionally (again) if they find this acc

Shima headcanons #5
Shima doesn’t fight his brothers. He’ll swat and nudge and sometimes hit but not full on kicks or punches meant to cause bruises like his brothers do to him. Maybe it’s instinctual, maybe he really just couldn’t be bothered to fight back, maybe running is just easier in the long run… Yamantaka hates it because it makes him look bad but Shima’s not about to summon his ass just to win and then pass out right after. Maybe when he was a kid it was different. He couldn’t summon yamantaka very well so the worry of that whole situation was tempered and he could defend himself more.
Does it make him look weak in his families eyes? Yeah, but he knows the alternative would be ten times more troublesome. Everyone knows fighting a human is easy but fighting a human who lets the demon possessing him fight his battles for him? There will be bloodshed and that’s too much to deal with.
(Does he notice that none of his brothers fight as hard with him as they do with each other? Absolutely. Gozou, Kinzou and Juzou fight together and try not to laugh as they do so. When they fight him, he’s trying not groan in pain. The difference is hard to miss)
