The final TF2 issue really got to me. Spoilers, but it’s the reveal that all of this suffering and murder and war over gravel and shitty land was for nothing but senseless, bottomless hatred. That the administrator can’t even remember where this revenge plot started as she flashes through different false memories of her parents’ deaths. There was never a tragic backstory or justification, only terrible people doing despicable things. And despite how crass and stupid and unserious TF2 is, the story subverts every expectation by showing the survivors and inheritors willingly breaking the cycle. Ms. Pauling lies to the administrator and chooses not to save her, and finally lets her die. (Hurts even more if you read into the subtext that Ms. Pauling is in love with the administrator.) She lets the final cache of Australium go and walks away from the burden and legacy of a century-old bloodfeud. Hale lets Gray’s daughter go and live her life freely. Spy is the first to arrive at Scout’s house and meet his big family, finally takes off his mask, and helps with the kids. Even Merasmus exhaustedly makes peace with himself and Soldier and chooses not to curse him or something. There’s nothing to finish, no promises to keep, and no one to avenge. The only thing to do is break the cycle and walk away.

It feels odd how happy and warm everything is, but it feels so right and earned. These bloodthirsty, awful, violent men were expendable cogs in a machine of endless violence, and they found a way out. It’s a genuinely great message about letting go the past that burdens you and finding the will and a way to hit the bricks, change, and be happy. Maybe they don’t technically deserve happiness, but they’ve got it nonetheless, and they’re not gonna let it go to waste. They’re still all crazy and violent, but on their own terms now and with people who love them! Smiles.

#tf2 #rant #personal #the stuff with the administrator reminded me of the ending of breaking bad #except the admin isn’t as self aware as Walt lol #that there was never a sympathetic reason or justification to fall back on #all of this was done simply because they were sadistic people #I really appreciate the writers avoiding the expected trope of the administrator dying and #Ms Pauling taking the mantel and becoming the next administrator. both as a either a girlboss empowerment thing or a sad but realistic end #like nah they’re happy and doing well. we won’t torture these characters any more and doom them to continuing the cycle #they’ll be happy and you’ll be happy for them

I've offically come full circle a decade later since I'm back hyperfixating on the Arthurian legend distracting myself from everything and listening to the same music as my 14 year old self was. But hey at least I have the confidence in drawing them now.

I love them so so dearly I'm going just a little insane, I'm sorry to everyone who doesn't know me beyond my usual fandoms, you have to put up with what rearranged my brain chemistry when I was a kid.

This started as just a few of the knights, Lancelot, Gawaine, and Galahad and then it became: "Oh but then I should draw __" and here we are. My designs are all over the place and I cannot be bothered to actually draw armor I'll die i just want to draw pretty patterns. But I think the mismatch of clothing styles and all that makes it cohesive?

And I'm going with Malroy and T.H White influence as it's what I know best, that being said all the boys have their coat of arms alluded to in some way but you might have to squint.

(my laptop absolutely hates me for this one. imagine exporting a file and then having to manipulate the sizing 3 times for it to even be able to upload anywhere, couldn't be me. I don't even know how to show the full thing..)

🎨 Art Summary 2024 🎨

I did the thing I missed out on last year and picked a clone to represent each month :3 it wasn't too hard considering how I've spent the majority of my time drawing them (finally with some OCs - mine and others' - hell yeah!).

In 2025 I really want to wrap up the Hades AU, finish up the poly sketch requests for good, and play around with my art style: simplify a few things and work on my fear of empty spaces. Gotta learn how to hit that nice balance between noise and calm spaces in my art 💪

imagine isagi getting invited to one of his teammate's house parties, and convincing you to come along with him, his shy and sweet gf ! you're not a fan of crowds or gatherings, but you can't avoid social gatherings forever, and you want to spend time with yoichi, so you agree to go.

you regret it almost immediately. even though yoichi's arm is wrapped around your waist, keeping you close to him, you can't help but feel lost in the crowds of people :( what's worse, drunk strangers who you've never met in your life keep approaching you when you're even a moment apart from yoichi, asking you things like 'what's your name?' or 'are 'ya here alone?'

your dread intensifies when you come back from the bathroom to see a girl asking yoichi for his number. you see him trying to avoid her, letting out multiple "i have a girlfriend" and declining her advances as calmly as he can, looking uncomfortable as ever when she goes so far as to grab onto his arm, giggling.

you approach the girl and say to her firmly, with all the courage you have,

"he's my boyfriend, so would you stop clinging onto him?"

the girl stiffens and lets out a curt, "sorry, didn't know he had a girlfriend," and walks away, clearly ashamed. ( he told her multiple times he had a gf ugh )

yoichi turns to you to explain the situation, but you just grab onto his hand.

"can we please leave, yoi? 'm tired. and overwhelmed," you ask him.

yoichi simply nods and agrees, "i'm tired too, baby. let's get home, yeah?"

you arrive at yoichi's apartment, legs sore and tired. you plop onto his couch, closing your eyes momentarily.

"how's a movie and cuddles sound?" yoichi asks from the bathroom.

"mm, sounds nice. wanna shower first, though."

yoichi laughs. "i was thinking the same. c'mon, hop in with me 'n we can shower together."

the warm water of the shower trickles down your scalp as yoichi shampoos your hair.

"you were super cute when you called me your boyfriend, by the way."

"shut up!"

hmmm i think 'm gonna make more of these how do we feel ! ( •̀ ω •́ )
