when i was a kid i wanted to be a famous youtuber like dan and phil so that people would gay ship me with my irl best friend and we would be sooo weirded out by it and laugh and make videos joking about it but secretly it would make her realize her repressed gay crush on me and i'd help her through her gay crisis and then we would have a sickeningly sweet sappy romance and read fanfiction about ourselves together... anyways just found out she's married to a guy in the mafia now so i probably don't have a chance
#dan and phil fanfiction changed me#come into my lady door#and teen me saw that and went âi need to be that so fuckan badâ#i wanted to be dan but now that im a mature adult i understand that phil is better. phil guy 5ever nowadays#do i tag this as dan and phil. i still dont know tumblr site tagging norms and im like a year in now#dan and phil#dnp#phan

okay but like. I just had the weirdest thought about that âdonât look Iâm nakedâ comic. Which is that thatâs essentially the same thing Adam and Eve did after they ate the fruit of knowledge of good&evil. So I feel like the theological implications of that could kneecap Gabe if he doesnât think V1 is a being with free will.
yeah ok. i dunno man. is this anything
((side note. this isnât necessarily meant to be in-character or story-accurate or take place at any particular point in time, just a way to explore some Thoughts. i was also imagining more that V1âs words aren't actually spoken, more like Gabrielâs more articulate interpretation of whatever garbled mechanical noise V1 is using to communicate. I think an angel could do that.))
and then they fucked nasty the end
#my art#my writing#who fuckin sent this. fuck you. come off anon so i can kick your ass. (the thoughts this ask sparked consumed almost 3 days of my life)#i dont know what this even is#i just work here#disclaimer i don't come from a particularly religious background so like.#most of my knowledge of christianity comes from when my mom sent me to vbs for cheap babysitting in middle school or absorbed via osmosis#so i have no idea what im talking about except for when i do! hope this helps#i love how i say that like i expect biblical scholars to tear apart my ultrakill gay fanfiction#if you are a biblical scholar and you want to tear apart my ultrakill gay fanfiction please know i am not going to read the bible for this#ultrakill#v1 ultrakill#gabriel ultrakill#gabv1el#blood#love tagging ultrakill stuff with blood. hmm yes the floor here is made out of floor

Fun Fact and History Lesson!
The 'no beta we die like [character]' originated from this damn photo that went viral on Tumblr in 2016 and changed Ao3 tags and fanfic vernacular forever.
Meaning: it's a tag used on fics that were not beta read (the author didn't get someone to read it for them before posting). Betas read fics to check for spelling, grammar, consistently, etc and often edit it.
*
Similarly, 'Dead dove' or 'dead dove do not eat' is from this scene in Arrested Development.
Meaning: if there's a warning of something really dark/bad, don't open/read it and expect something different. Or: 'mind the tags this is dark, don't read if you don't like it'.
#fanfiction#fandom#fan fiction vernacular#internet history lesson if you will#dont know how to tag this#im so old because i was there#feel free to fact check on known your meme if you dont believe me

saw something that made me do a double take so: poll
1. for the purposes of this poll, if you have ever written any amount of fanfiction, even just a sentence, even if you don't post it, that counts
2. if you write fanfiction but don't read it please tell me why. i want to study you
#a dot original#ummm.#fanfiction#ao3#i don't know other tags. i dont think i have The Reach to get this poll very far but#i saw someone say they write fic but don't read it and it BAFFLED me for reasons i can't articulate#im still thinking about it hours later

spencer reid being a silly bottom? fem!reader please
oh fuck !! lets go !!! - 911 words
----
You had been looking forward to tonight all week. After a particularly grueling case, you and Spencer had decided to take a well-deserved break, spending the evening together at your apartment. As you finished setting up the mood with dim lights and soft music, you heard the front door open.
âIâm home!â Spencer called out, his voice already bringing a smile to your face.
âIn the bedroom!â you replied, anticipation clear in your tone.
Spencer entered the room, his eyes widening slightly at the sight before him. You were dressed in a silk robe, the soft fabric clinging to your curves in a way that made his breath catch. You could see the way his gaze darkened with desire, his usual composed demeanor slipping. Just a bit.
âWow, you look... amazing,â he said, his voice soft.
You smirked, closing the distance between you and him. âThank you, Spencer. Tonight, Iâm in charge. Do you understand?â
A shiver ran through him as he nodded. âYes, ma'am.â
âGood,â you purred, taking his hand and leading him to the bed. âSit down.â
Spencer complied, sitting on the edge of the bed, his eyes never leaving yours. You stood in front of him, gently running your fingers through his hair, then tilting his head back to look up at you.
âSuch a good boy,â you praised, watching as his eyes fluttered closed for a moment, a soft sigh escaping his lips.
You leaned in, your breath hot against his ear as you whispered, âTonight, you do exactly as I say. No arguments. Understood?â
âYes, ma'am,â he breathed, his voice trembling with anticipation.
You pulled back, satisfied with his response. âGood. Now, undress for me.â
Spencerâs hands moved to his shirt, unbuttoning it slowly, his fingers trembling slightly. You watched, enjoying the sight of him slowly revealing more of his skin. Once he was down to his boxers, you placed a hand on his chest, pushing him gently back onto the bed.
âStay,â you commanded, your voice firm.
He lay back, looking up at you with a mix of submission and excitement in his eyes. You climbed onto the bed, straddling his hips, your robe parting slightly to reveal more of your skin. Spencerâs hands twitched, as if he wanted to touch you, but you gave him a stern look.
âHands above your head,â you instructed.
He obeyed immediately, placing his hands above his head, gripping the headboard lightly. You leaned down, your lips ghosting over his, but not quite touching.
âDo you want me, Spencer?â you whispered.
âYes,â he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. âPlease.â
âGood boy,â you praised again, before capturing his lips in a heated kiss. His response was immediate, his lips parting for you, a soft moan escaping as you deepened the kiss.
Your hands roamed over his chest, teasing and exploring, while Spencer remained obediently still, his hands gripping the headboard tighter as he tried to control himself. You could feel the tension in his body, the way he was holding back, and it thrilled you.
Breaking the kiss, you moved your lips to his neck, nibbling and sucking on the sensitive skin there. Spencerâs breath hitched, and you could feel his growing cock pressing against you. You smirked against his skin, knowing just how much he was enjoying this.
âRemember, youâre not allowed to touch,â you reminded him, your voice firm but laced with teasing.
âYes, ma'am,â he panted, his eyes half-closed in pleasure.
You continued to tease him, your hands and lips exploring his body, bringing him to the edge but never quite letting him fall over. Spencerâs breaths were coming faster, his body trembling with the effort to stay still and obedient.
Finally, you pulled back, looking down at him with a satisfied smile. âYouâve been such a good boy for me, Spencer. Do you want your reward?â
âPlease, ma'am,â he begged, his voice desperate and needy.
âAlright,â you said, moving to finally give him what he craved. âYouâve earned it.â
Spencer always loved this more than anything, but you never complained. Your knees pressed into the mattress on either side of his head. "You can touch."
He didn't wait a second after hearing that, one hand gripped your hip, pulling you down harshly, the other gripped your ass. His tongue met your slit, a loud groan vibrating against your pussy.
He was always so messy when he ate you out. Desperate, needy, downright fucking filthy. He slurped at your stupidly drooly cunt. He moaned as he sucked your clit.
You just tasted so good. As he focused his mouth on your messy clit, he slipped a finger into your pussy, curling against your gummy walls.
You were panting now, moans and whines leaking from your mouth like an explicit radio. "Good boy," you whined, grinding against his eager mouth.
He moaned in response against your weeping cunt, two fingers now pumping in and out of you.
A familiar tight heat knotted itself at your core, "Oh God..." you thought you whispered it, but when you felt strange puffs of air against your cunt, you knew he was laughing at you.
Part you were tempted to stop it, punish him for laughing you. But his fingers curled just right, his tongue pressed against your clit. Your hands slammed against the wall as you buckled forward, a moan ripping from your throat.
He continued to lap at your stupid, overstimulated pussy until you lift off of him.

Asking out the Bachelors (SDV)
x disabled!reader
You presented him with a bouquet. But before he could speak, you interupt. "Now before you say anything!" He looks at you confused. "I want you to know before you make any big decisions that I am disabled. I get around fine enough, I mean, I can handle my farm and all. But some days it's rough. And I won't be able to. I might not have the energy for anything. I really- Really -like you, but I don't want to be hurt down the line because you can't deal with this." You put your heart on the line and awaited his response.
All Bachelor's below the cut
Harvey
⢠Gives you a big ol' hug
⢠Probably cries a little because he is so happy that you asked him out
⢠Hopes you don't notice
⢠You definitely do, but don't say anything because-how cute is he!
⢠The two of you just stay there for a second, because it's not like you can really move when you are trapped in a hug
⢠"Dear, having a disability is no big thing. So you need a little extra support sometimes. I am your man!"
⢠Literally will go to the ends of the Earth to help you when things are acting up
⢠When you go into more detail about it, he knows a lot already! (Duh he is a doctor)
⢠But he will do a lot more research about the specifics once you leave.
⢠He stays in that hug for a really long time before realizing that he never actually accepted your bouquet and becomes a bit of a flustered mess
⢠You think he is adorable
Sam
⢠As much as he likes to think he is sooooo cool, he is so happy that he just gives you a double thumbs up and a dopey grin
⢠He says, "Farmer you don't know how happy this makes me!"
⢠Invites you into his house to talk about things more, and plucks around his guitar while doing so.
⢠He doesn't know crap about disabilities, besides adhd and a few more common ones.
⢠But he is willing to learn!
⢠The two of you actually have a really long heartfelt conversation about it.
⢠Lots of hugs.
⢠Like he cannot get over the fact that you are dating now.
⢠Maybe a makeout session if the mood feels right?
Sebastian
⢠Kinda just stares at you for an uncomfortable amount of time
⢠You have no idea what he is thinking, and frankly neither does he.
⢠His brain is frying at the fact that you like him back.
⢠And then he is also panicking at the fact that you think he won't like you because of something you can't change!
⢠Grabs your hands once he snaps out of it, startles both of you
⢠"Yes!" He somewhat shouts, "yes! Yoba, I swear. I care for you and nothing about you will change that."
⢠Proceeds to just hold your hands and blush because OHMYGOSHMYCRUSHLIKESMEANDIJUSTTOLDTHEMILIKETHEMAND-
⢠Later when you talk about your disability more, he recognizes the name from late night internet browsing, and will do whatever he can for you when things get bad.
⢠Like Sam, there is a lot of communication about how he can help because he isn't well informed
Alex
⢠Literally picks you up???
⢠Idk he is weird (it's okay we still love him)
⢠Like holds you bridal style and gives you a big smooch on your cheek
⢠He doesn't care you have a disability
⢠Will do his best to learn how to help!!!
⢠Absolutely will take care of your farm and animals if need be
⢠When he sets you down he gives you an actual kiss
⢠Shows up at your farm the next day after talking to Harvey
⢠He wanted to learn a bit more about helping people with disabilities, now having two important people in his life that have them! (You and George)
⢠The two of you talk about everything
⢠Overall he'd be really good about it once he got going
Shane
If he was sober at the moment
⢠"We all have our problems, and yours is nothing."
⢠"I'm shocked you want to go out with me, but remember, this was your idea!"
⢠Aka, he tried to act all tough but when you look at his face, he is just a softy
⢠He has a slight blush on his face
⢠He is so happy you trusted him enough to tell him your personal business
⢠Won't be perfect by any means at helping when things get hard, but he tries
If he was drunk at the moment
⢠"I'm not dealing with that."
⢠And then he walks away.
⢠Regrets it so much when he sobers up but the damage was done
⢠If you felt that he deserved another chance it wouldn't be for a long time
⢠If you get together later, every time things flare up he just feels so guilty.
Elliott
(Apologies in advance for possibly being out of character. He is the one I know the least about-)
⢠Similar to Alex ngl (kinda?)
⢠He smiles at you, places his hand at the nape of your neck, and then gives you a kiss on the cheek
⢠Let's his head rest on your forehead for a few moments before accepting your bouquet
⢠Gives you a gentle kiss
⢠Will learn all of the things to know about your disability
⢠Makes sure you check in with Harvey about it whenever things get bad
⢠Will make you soup :) he knows it won't 'fix' anything, but he doesn't know when else to do when people aren't feeling good
⢠It's cute
⢠Will gives you cuddles after he accepts the bouquet, and makes sure to talk to you about what you need.
⢠He tells you, "nothing can change the way I feel about you. You are the light of my life." (Or some fancy poetry that idk how to write)
This is the first thing I've written that I've posted, so please lmk if I made a typo or something!!! And let me know if you want me to elaborate on any prompt. Or give me a prompt! I will be posting more, I just have to edit them.
Also I mostly write x reader, which I am down to make weirdly specific. Mostly fluff or hurt/comfort, but I am down for almost anything so if you have any fic you want written, lmk!!! I might not get to it for a while because, life, but we'll see! Hope you had fun reading, sorry for the long outro-
(Thank you to my friend for proofreading if you see this)
(Edited Alex's, thanks for pointing out George is disabled!)

Enji is a big man, in every way. He towers over you, takes up space no matter the place, his big arms are your safest place and his cock... Fuck, you just loved everything about his cock. The taste of it, the heaviness as it sits in your mouth, in between your legs. How hot it was. Just thinking about your man made you clench your thighs and your cotton tail to wag. Â
Thoughts of him invaded your senses as you were preparing your shared home for his return. He had been away for a hero conference, and unfortunately you werenât able to join him this time. Responsibilities awaited you at your own job and you had to do with being apart. It was torture for the both of you. Of course, it wasnât the first time you were separated. However, it always felt as if time was mocking you. Every tick of the clock grinding on your eardrums and laughing as the both of you struggled with sleep without one another. Â
To say you were excited for his return was an understatement. You had cooked him his favourite meal, took great care in making kuzumochi and planned on wearing his favourite lingerie set. If you were jumping up and down with your nose and tail twitching from excitement, well that was your business only. (It was in fact your business and the house cameras business, which would amuse the flame hero greatly later on). Â
Just as you were drying off the last drops of water from your shower, slipping into your set of lingerie did your ears pick up the door opening. Too joyous to bother on wearing your bathrobe, you hopped and rushed to the hallway to greet your hunk of a man. Â
A whoosh quickly followed the âTadaimaâ that left Enjiâs mouth when your bodies collided. With your arms around his neck, your legs wrapped around his torso, and your cotton tail happily wagging, you found sanctuary in him once more. Head buried in his neck; you happily muttered a greeting back. Â
âOkaeri, Jijiâ Â
A content sigh left both of your lips as he kissed the top of your head and petted the space between your bunny ears. Not wanting to untangle yourself from him so soon, you barely lifted your face from his neck to look him in the eyes, after all the flame hero had missed seeing your eyes and you his. Â
âI have prepared a hearty meal for you, Jiji. Letâs go to go to the kitchen to fetch the food an-â Â
A yelp escaped your mouth cutting yourself off. Having been too distracted by your pretty ears, comforting smell and the quietness of your home, Enji hadnât noticed your lack of clothes. Your ears were blessed with a quiet pleased hum as he took in exactly what you were wearing, his arms roaming over your body entangled in his before gently caressing your cotton tail. Â
âHm, Iâm not hungry for that kind of food, bunny.âÂ
Having been separated from him for so long, you were already floating away and couldnât understand the innuendo. When asked if he would prefer some food from outside, he just chuckled and gave you a grin. Â
âNot quite, bunny.â Â
As he was walking to your shared room, you grew more and more flustered. Your cheeks were warming up, your eyes dropping from pleasure and slick creating a damp spot on your panties. Flustered from the gentle caresses on your tail, you hid your face in his neck to find sanctuary from his piercing gaze. Â
Of course, Enji noticed not being able to see the dark look of pleasure in your eyes anymore. Â
âTsk, tsk, pretty girl, donât go hiding from me now.â Â
With you still in his arms, he sat down on the bed positioning you on his lap. Almost in a trance, you lifted your head from its place to give him a pleased smile as he continued to roam his hands all over you. Â
You observed him as he gently kissed every part of your body he could reach. With love and happiness bursting through your chest, you couldnât help but grab his face to kiss him softly. Finally, your lips were reunited. Finally, his tongue met yours again. Finally, you were one again.Â
Well, not quite, something was missing, something hot and heavy was missing and it was starting to grow hard underneath you. Reluctantly parting ways to fill your lungs once more with oxygen, your lips only now connected with a string of saliva, Enjiâs lips chased yours for more even if his lungs were aching, burning.Â
Greedily, you took off his shirt, unbuttoned his pants until he was left with nothing but his boxers. A pool of slick had gathered in your panties by now, drenching them, ruining them. Getting up to rid yourself of your own clothes, a big warm hand reached out to stop you. Â
âDonât, bunny. I want to see you drenching your pretty lingerie for me.â Â
âTheyâre going to get ruined, Enji!âÂ
âDonât you worry about that, bunny. Iâll just buy you more. Now get over here, I missed you.â Â
âHm, I missed you too, love.âÂ
Climbing back in his lap, you tugged away at his boxers until his dick sprung free. The tip leaking precum and blushing a pretty red colour. Â
âYou know what I missed the most, though?âÂ
âHm, tell me, pretty bunn- nuuugh fuck.â Â
âI missed your pretty cock, Jiji. I want to suck it so bad, can I? Can I suck your big cock, Enji?â Â
Enji had to take deep breaths to stop himself from cumming right then and there. Your pretty eyes were looking at him, a sparkle of excitement in your clouded irises, your small hand barely closing around his dick. Your pretty lips, all red and swollen up from his kisses. Fuck, what a way to come back home. When he took too long to reply, your hand twisted at the head and spread the pearls of precum leaking out. Both your mouth and pussy growing wetter at the thought of him in your mouth. Filling you up so good, his scent and taste overpowering everything and anything else around you. Â
âEnji, please, can I? I need it in my mouth please please please.âÂ
The sigh of you so cock-drunk made him twitch in your small hand. No thoughts in your pretty head except for his big dick. Â
âFuck me,â A groan escaped his lips when you spit on his cock to make the glide easier â-you can do whatever you want, bunny. Itâs all yours, Iâm all yours, pretty baby.â Â
Thank youâs left your lip in a rush as you pushed him down on the mattress to properly straddle him. However, just as you were about to be whole again, Enji tugged on your arm and gestured at his torso with his hands. Â
âGet over here, pretty bunny. I want to see your beautiful pussy, baby.â Â
Your cheeks warmed up and you quickly maneuvered yourself to sit on his torso, your back facing his face. Fuck, Enjiâs gorgeous cock looked so big compared to your hands. Â
With your tits squished against his happy trail & your hands on his strong thighs, you opened your mouth wide to finally be whole again. As you ascended on him further, tears were rapidly building in your eyes, pools of saliva and arousal slipping out of your mouth making a mess of his balls. Slurping noises and pleased hum left your mouth. Fuck, nothing else was as good as the taste and heaviness of him. His musk, his taste, him in you once more made your ears point outwards from happiness. Â
Suddenly, you felt electricity dance along your spine again. Enji was groping and occasionally groping your tail again in rhythm along your bobbing up and down. He just couldnât help himself, his bunny looked so good with her cotton tail wagging and twitching from excitement. Your body immediately reacted to his action by vibrating, causing Enjiâs cock to twitch and throb in your mouth. Â
Moans soon joined in when he started to play with your pussy. The flame hero had tugged your panties to the side, and the sight that had greeted him back made him audibly groan. Â
âGod damn, baby, did you miss me this much?â Â
Your slick was dripping, making a mess of his lower chest as your hole clenched around nothing. Using his fingers to play with your cute little clit earned him a pretty yelp from his bunny before you resumed sucking the life out of him. After lazily drawing circles on your bundle of nerves, he realised he needed to get a better view of what was his. He let his hands massage your butt before parting his bunnyâs cheeks to see just how much your pussy had missed him.Â
âFuck, pretty bunny, youâre making a mess over here. Shit and all of this wasted slick,â the broad man gathered your arousal pooled on his chest to lick at his shiny fingers and outright moaned at the taste. â-fuck, baby, need to taste you. Need to get my mouth on that crying cunt.â Â
Unfortunately for the number one hero, the height difference didnât allow his mouth to be anywhere close to where he wanted to be. He was left to watch as your weeping cunt kept on dripping more and more arousal on his chest. He felt like he was going to explode right there and then. Â
You couldnât even hear him, too engrossed in engraving the feel of his dick in your mouth. Feeling and tracing every vein, every pulse, every throb, made you dizzy from pleasure. Â
âYouâre so big, Jiji.â You lapped at the drops of arousal on his slit, drunk off of the taste of him, the scent of him. âFuck, could do this forever, fucking love your cock, Enji.â You whimpered before getting your fill again and going as far as your throat could take. Â
âMhm, made to suck dick werenât you, bunny? Let me get a taste of you, love, need to-â He was interrupted short when you managed to swallow all of him down to the base. Praises were flowing out of his mouth like oxygen leaving his lungs, an instinct, a natural body reaction to you. Â
âFuck, baby, youâre such a good bunny.â Â
âMy pretty little bunny sucking me so good, baby.âÂ
âSuch a good bunny for me, fuuuck meee.âÂ
With his head thrown back, he groped your ass once more and landed a slap on it. His cock throbbing when he saw your cheeks and tail bounce from the impact. He slapped your butt one more time, amazed by the bounce before grabbing your tail with one hand while the other hand started to finger you making you whine. Â
âShit, pretty love, such a warm mouth for me, fuck fuck, wanna make you feel good too, bunny. Need to make you feel good, baby.â Enji felt his brain go fuzzy from your hot, tight cunt gripping his fingers, your hard nipples against his happy trail, your warm mouth and the softness of his babyâs cotton tail. Â
âI missed your dick so much, baby. Canât get enough of it, please please please- so fuck such a good cock, Jiji.â You were a babbling mess, not making any sense as you kissed your belovedâs cock and traced every vein with your tongue. You didnât even know what you were asking for, more of his fingers or more of his cum. It didnât matter as long as you could keep your mouth on him. Â
Enji, on the other hand, was growing frustrated seeing you clenching on his fingers, painting them white with your arousal seeping out of your cunt. He had missed your cunt so much and he could only lie there helplessly unable to get a taste of his favourite fruit. He needed to drink from you again, let the juice drip down his throat and stain his teeth.Â
Thrusting his fingers in and out of you, he tried to find just the right spot. A smug smirk painted his lips when he felt you keen more, pants leaving your mouth more urgently. He kept on hitting your sweet spot and groping your tail until he felt you pull his dick out of your mouth. Â
âMnuuurgh, donât stop Enji, so good, your fingers feel so good fuck.â You whined beautifully, the sound a harmony to his ears. Unable to concentrate with his fingers playing with your body, you opted to tap your tongue against his cock and lick into his slit. Closing your mouth around the tip and hollowing your cheeks made him see stars. You were driving him insane; he couldnât take it anymore. Â
âGods, fucking come here, bunny. Driving me fucking insane over here, fuck.â was hissed by your man before he looped his arms around your thighs and pulled your weeping cunt to his mouth. Â
âEnj-ji, wait no, w-wait"Â Â
Before you could get more words out, he was feasting on you as a starved man would, drinking you in as if you were his last drops of water and to Enji you might as well be. He lapped at your juices, trying not to let one drop escape his lips, his hands around your waist, stabilising you, guiding you to grind your face on him. Quickly, he pushed two of his thick fingers in you again and hit your g-spot relentlessly. Your body was vibrating with pleasure, but you wanted him, needed him in your mouth again. âF-fuck, Enji I need you please please please. Need to taste- mmnuuuurgh fuck fuck so good Enji so good ooooh!!â Â
You could Enjiâs lips grinning as he continued to lap at your leaking hole, grunting and moaning at the slickness on his taste buds. âEnji, please- Fuck, -â Seeing his leaking tip, you tried to reach him, but you were only able to barely graze your hands against the hot flesh. You were growing desperate, missing the weight in your mouth, pools of saliva gathering in your mouth at the sight of his arousal. â-Jiji, want you in my mouth again, babyâ You whined, looking down at him and frowning when you saw him pay you no mind. Â
âLet me suck you again, loveâ Puffs of air were leaving your mouth as you continued to whimper, in a moment of despair, you tried to get his attention by squirming out of his touch. This caused Enji to scoff and finally pull himself away from his ambrosia. Â
âOh, bunny, you are not taking this away from me. Youâve had your turn, now let me devour-âÂ
âEnji, please please, I want your cock so badly, no I need it please Enji pleas- Fuck!â Fuck, Enji was not playing fair, pinching your tail between his pointer and thumb to turn you into putty. Â
âNow, you listen, bunny and you listen well. Donât try to squirm out again and let me enjoy your sweet juice hm, -â His fingers resumed to thrust in and out in times with his other hand playing with your tail. â-, your pussy missed me, bunny. Donât want to take this from her nor me, right baby?âÂ
âNonono, baby, just- guuuh please just, oh gods, just need, I need- Fuuuck Enji!â Â
âHm, pretty dumb bunny canât even think without something to suck on, huh baby?â The hero needed to occupy you while he had his feast if he didnât want you to squirm away again. So, he left your hole gaping around nothing and brought his fingers in front of your mouth. âOpen your mouth, darling.â he commanded, and you happily obliged him. âHm, you look so good like this, bunny. Maybe we should set up a camera next time so you can see just how good you look, huh?â Your lower face was covered in a mix of fluid, your saliva, his arousal and now from your own slick. When his fingers made contact with your taste buds, you pleasantly hummed at the taste of yourself. Â
Now that he was certain that you wouldnât try to escape anymore, the red hair continued to eat you out, one hand alternating between pinching and tugging at your tail while the other hand had its fingers in your pretty mouth. After lapping and tongue fucking you, Enji decided to pay attention to your swollen clit. You gasped in pleasure when his hot muscle touched your bundle of nerves. Shaking and mewling on top him, tears rolled down your cheeks from the stimulation of your tail being petted with and your manâs tongue flicking your clit over and over. Â
The coil in your stomach was getting tighter and tighter ready to snap at any moment the longer Enji played with your body. You could only think and feel Enji, please or more or fuck love your tongue, love your fingers, love you or his name were the only words leaving your stuffed mouth. You were so close to the edge, teetering on the verge of an orgasm. Â
Enji could tell you were about to cum as well from the slick dripping down his face. âFuck, going to come for me, bunny? Come on, let it out fâme, pretty darling.â He cooed at you, letting his tongue be in your cunt once more, lapping at your juices and creating the perfect friction for you to get off to. Your moans and gasps only spurring him on to go faster. Â
Then, your vision turned white, the elastic band finally snapping, mouth biting down harshly on your loverâs fingers from the sensation. Enji just hummed and groaned at the cum filling his mouth, his senses drowning with only you you you. When he felt your legs tremble uncontrollably around his head, he retrieved his fingers from your mouth to grasp your inner thigh and secure you on his face as he drank up any lingering drop. Â
The grip he had on you lessened as he continued to hum and groan at your arousal, allowing you to part ways with his mouth enough to finally reach his cock again. Too engrossed in his task, Enji just blindly followed his ambrosia as you at last gripped his cock once more. Eating you out had turned him on so much that only a few tugs were needed before ropes of cum shot out. Â
Having had his fill, Enji disconnected from your pussy for a moment leaving you to quickly escape his grasp to enclose your mouth around his tip. The flame hero couldnât even complain. Your warm mouth and hands were milking out every last drop of his cum and he could taste the juices of your pussy staining his tongue, his mouth, his teeth. Â
When you swallowed everything that your lover had to give, you happily gave a last kiss to the head before turning around and smiling brightly at your Jiji. Â
âWelcome home, baby!âÂ
âHmm, and what a way to come back this was, pretty bunny.â Â
You leaned your weight on his chest, your arousal from earlier having dried on his lower chest. Both of you let out pleased hums when your lips connected softly, lazily making out, tasting the taste of yourselves on your partnerâs tongue. Fluids mixing together, legs entangled together, two beings turning into one after being separated for so long.Â
You laid in bed for some time before Enji carried you to the bathroom so that you could pee, and he could wash away any lingering cum on both of your bodies. The rest of the day was spent with you in his arms, feeding the both of you the delicious food you had prepared earlier. Pecks and pets were exchanged throughout the whole evening until the both of you went to bed. Â
Safely tucked in his arms, all warm and safe in the freshly made sheets, you kissed your lover his last kiss of the day. Â
âGoodnight, Jiji. I love you.â Â
Enji kissed the space between your ears and caressed your back to lull you to sleep, and before he could even form a reply, you were softly snoring, letting out happy noises and purring when he would graze at your cotton tail. Â
With the comfort of your weight finally back on top of him again, he felts his own eyes droop down in an attempt to sleep, but he didnât want to. He wanted to look at you a bit more, his pretty bunny purring contently in his arms. However, sleep was inevitable, and before he submitted to it, mutters left his lips in pure devotion.Â
âGoodnight, baby. I love you, too.âÂ

If I had you II Jamie Tartt
Plot: Jamie Tartt is hard to love. At least he thinks so. Reader thinks it's the easiest thing in the world. Pairing: Jaime Tartt x female reader Warnings: Swearing, mentions of food and alcohol. Notes: This is inspired by the song "a daydream away". It's 5.2k words of pure friends-to-lovers sweetness.  Likes, reblogs, comments are all much appreciated. I am German. Sometimes I get the tense wrong or make mistakes. I am useless when it comes to punctuation. Go easy on me, please
Jamie Tartt is hard to love. At least he thinks so. Itâs a chore to love him, the real him not the overly confident golden boy he portrays on the pitch. Just look at his track record, that just proves his point. Sure his mom loves him, he never questioned that, but that doesnât mean itâs easy for her. Heâs convinced heâs made her cry more than once with yet another stupid decision. Then thereâs his father who loves nothing more than to belittle him and lay out all his flaws for him and the world to see. And if even your own dad doesnât love you, how can you expect others to.Â
So maybe thatâs the reason he doesnât let anyone close enough to even begin to love him. Sooner or later theyâll figure out how much of an effort it takes and that he, of all people, truly isnât worth it.Â
And maybe, perhaps, thatâs also the reason he doesnât allow himself to explore the feelings he harbors for his best friend. He tried to deny them to himself for so long. Tried to pass it off as pure, unfiltered friendship. Thatâs bullshit though. He knows the feelings are there and there is no use in denying them. That doesnât mean he can ever allow himself to act on them though. Heâd just fuck it all up, the way he usually does with everything he touches.Â
The shiny hardwood floor feels cold and smooth as he sits leaning against the kitchen counter, legs stretched out before him. A smile is permanently etched onto his face as (Y/N) talks about something that happened at her work today. He should listen, itâs probably a fun story judging by the way her giggles make her stop talking every few seconds. He should listen but he is so enamored with her that he can not pay attention to anything else. In a perfect world, in a world where loving him was easy, heâd lean over and kiss her. He'd kiss her silly and sheâd kiss him back and life would be sweet and it would make sense. In that perfect world, she would love him back the same way he loves her and it would be easy and heâd deserve her.Â
But that is not the world heâs living in. That is not his reality. Just a beautiful daydream he allows himself to escape to every once in a while. Loving her in a daydream is safe. Itâs secret and quiet and there is no hurt there and no rejection.Â
âWhy are you grinning like that, huh Tartt?âÂ
She asks before taking a sip from the beer bottle clasped tightly in her hands. Itâs an unusually hot summerâs day. One that makes it impossible to do anything but sit on the floor in as little clothing as possible and drink one cold drink after the other. Even if that means getting a little tipsy on a Tuesday afternoon.
âNothing. Just happy to have you here. Missed you.â
âWe didnât see each other for a week and you already missed me?â
He misses her the minute she leaves. Itâs like his heart isnât complete if she isnât there but he canât really say that can he? Friends donât tell friends things like that. And a friend is all she is. His best one but still. Telling her any of this could jeopardize their friendship and Jamie doesnât think he could handle life without her. Not when a week already felt like torture.Â
âWell yeah, Iâm proper shit at cooking. I need you to feed me.âÂ
âOh, is that so? Thought Mr. Bigshot footballer could get free food at any restaurant he fancies.â
Sheâs teasing but never mean and never hurtful. Thatâs something he cherishes so much about their friendship. His feelings, his fears â all of it is safe with her. There is no hurt or pain or fear. Just her and her friendship and warmth. And a pair of open arms ready to catch him whenever he stumbles and falls.
âTrue. But some fancy place in Mayfair will laugh at me if I ask them to make me dino nuggets, wonât they?â
Her laughter, he decides then, is his favorite sound in the world. It makes everything feel alright even if itâs just for a fleeting moment. He needs to keep his feelings locked up in that beautiful daydream because he can never lose this melody her laughter creates. And anyway, he wouldnât even know what to do if he ever really had her.
â Itâs not like sheâd say yes anyway.
âYouâre probably right about that,â she says and leans her head against his shoulder. And though itâs muggy and hot and heâs sure he can feel their skin stick together, he doesnât shake her off. Sheâs part of his heart already, might as well melt into one completely. âYou want me to make you some nuggets?âÂ
âNah,â Jamie replies and places a soft kiss on the top of her head. Friends kiss friends on the head all the time, everyone knows that. Right? "That's okay. Already had a Kebab with Roy earlier.âÂ
âYou guys are becoming friends then? Should I be worried Iâm gonna lose my best friend status?âÂ
Jamie lets out some mix between a chuckle and a scoff. As if anyone in all the world could ever replace her. What a ridiculous thought.Â
âWell he doesnât make me nuggets, does he? No alphabet soup either. So no. Not yet.âÂ
The little shake of her fist she does in victory makes him grin even bigger. He must look like a damn fool.Â
âI should probably get going sometime soon, I need to finish up some work and do laundry and do all that boring adult stuff thatâs waiting for me at home.âÂ
There are lots of things he should be doing instead of sitting on his kitchen floor on a Tuesday afternoon getting half drunk on cheap beer and half on his overwhelming love for her. Heâs sure there are a bunch of texts and emails waiting for him to sort through. Keeley might be popping a blood vessel soon if he doesnât answer her about that brand requesting to work with him on some ad campaign. And he will get back to her â soon.Â
Right now it doesnât matter. Right now all that matters is him and (Y/N) and their little corner of safety and â home.
âBut I donât want to.âÂ
âYeah, me neither. Just want to sit here with you and â âÂ
â â hang out?âÂ
âMh. Hang out.âÂ
That was not what he wanted to say but none of the words ghosting through his head are meant to be spoken out loud. They are his to feel and think and keep hidden and quiet.Â
âGood, we can hang out a little longer I think.âÂ
And heâll take what he can get. All the precious minutes she grants him he cherishes.Â
Right now could last forever and he wouldnât mind at all.
Not as long as heâs with her.
Some early 00s pop song is blasting from the speakers of the bar. Everyoneâs in good spirits and drinks are flowing freely.Â
(Y/N) is leaning against the bar talking to Colin, laughing about something he said, radiating joy and happiness.Â
She loves his friends, his boys, his family. Jamie loves that she loves them so dearly, so fiercely as if they are her own family. At this point, they might as well be. She remembers all their birthdays, drops by unannounced with cookies for everybody, cheers them on louder than anybody else. Hell, she even gets Roy to smile and thatâs quite something. Sheâs as much a part of the AFC Richmond family as she is a part of his life.Â
âJamie-Jam-Jam what are you sulking over here for,â her voice cuts through the crowd and the music as she slides into the booth next to him. She looks gorgeous in the hazy neon lights. Then again, she always looks gorgeous.Â
âNot sulking. Just â thinking.âÂ
âAbout what?â
You. Heâd say if he was honest and not such a coward. You and how much I adore you and how hard it is not to tell you any of this and fuck up our friendship.Â
âWas considering getting me nipples pierced. Iâd have to take them out though and I imagine that would be quite annoying.âÂ
âProbably,â she agrees and nods her head before adding âIt would look sick though.âÂ
âRight? I reckon it would.âÂ
She laughs at that and once again it shakes his entire world. Like little earthquakes inside his heart.Â
Her voice is quieter after her laughter subsides, soft and gentle, and with the loud music it feels like her words are only meant for him. âI like this,â she says almost wistfully.
âThe song? Whoâs that, Rihanna?âÂ
âNot the song, silly boy. This â â she gestures around the room towards all their friends, dancing and laughing and having the time of their lives. And then she motions to the two of them, secluded and safe inside their own little bubble. âescaping our busy lives for a moment.âÂ
âLot of journalists would disagree with you there, love. That my life was busy.âÂ
âThey donât know you like I know you.âÂ
Thereâs a sincerity in her eyes, a warmth, something he canât quite explain. Itâs familiar and foreign all at once.Â
âNo one knows me like you do. You had pity on Jamie Tartt, messy little prick from math class. They just know Jamie Tartt, the footballer from Richmond.Still a prick but now with better hair.âÂ
Before he knows whatâs happening, her hands take hold of his face and gently rest against his cheeks, forcing him to look at her. Really look at her.
âI never had pity on you, Jamie. I thought you were funny and exciting and infinitely cool. Thatâs why I wanted to be your friend. And I was right! About the funny part, not the cool part.âÂ
âObviously.âÂ
âBut I never took pity on you. I donât think you realize how highly I think of you. Now let me get a sip of that drink.âÂ
Heâs still in some sort of haze brought on by her words when a groan coming from her shakes him from his thoughts. Her face is all scrunched up in disgust as she places his glass back on the table. âEw, what the fuck is that?âÂ
âIâm not sure, honestly. Barkeeper said sheâd mix me a Jamie Tartt and I was like fuck yeah, a drink named after me.â
âItâs disgusting. Did you shag and dump her at some point? Like, is she mad at you for some reason?âÂ
âI donât think Iâve ever seen that woman before in my life ⌠so yeah maybe.âÂ
Shaking her head with a smirk on her face she grabs a hold of his hand and pulls him out of the booth and towards the bar on the other side of the place, the one with the older male bartender with the impressive beard.
âYou ever had a thing with him?â she asks as she leans against the counter, trying to get the manâs attention.
âNah, Iâd remember that facial hair.âÂ
From then on the night tastes like tequila and beer and it feels like a warm hug. She doesnât join in on all his drinks, stops herself after a beer and a shot, but she does join him in all the other shenanigans. Like when they make up ridiculous backstories for strangers and have a laugh about some corporate douchebag trying desperately to get with some woman who clearly has no interest in him.Â
âHenry from accounting.â
âNah, thatâs Charlie from HR.âÂ
âWell, either way, Maisie from South Shields is not interested.âÂ
He could stay here forever, laugh the night away. Drunk on happiness, on love â and also on quite a lot of booze.Â
âCome on, Jamie-Jam, â she says and hands him his jacket. Sheâs all gentle hands and gentle eyes. âLet me give you a ride home.âÂ
âWeâre going home?â
âI think itâs time. Think someone had a little too much.âÂ
âIâm sorry.âÂ
He is but also not. Heâs sorry for being a burden â again. Heâs not sorry for letting himself enjoy a night of unadulterated happiness with the people that mean the most to him.
âNo need to apologize, Jamie. Iâm glad you had fun. Now come on, silly boy. Iâm tired.â
And when they step out of the place and into the night, all sweaty and hair a mess, he thinks that of all the things his eyes have ever seen, the best by far is her. Then and always.Â
London passes by in a blur as (Y/N) drives them towards his house. All the bougie buildings and the iron fences and the trees in the parks, itâs all one kaleidoscope of color, a smudge of light and shadows.Â
Itâs not like he can really focus on that though. Partly because all he can think of is her and partly because heâs absolutely wasted. Mostly her though. Definitely mostly her.
âDid you have a good time?â his voice slices through the comfortable silence.
âI always have a good time when Iâm with you, silly boy. Did you?âÂ
He rests his cheek against the smooth leather of her car seats and regards her with an infinite sense of wonder and adoration. In any other situation, this position would be deeply uncomfortable but heâs numb to anything but the beating of his heart and the strings that pull him towards his best friend.
âObviously. Had my best girl with me. â
âKeeley?â
His eyebrows raise in confusion. âKeeley? No you numpty, you!âÂ
âMe?â
âWhy would you think I was talking about Keeley?â
He wishes he could see the look on her face. This is not a car conversation.Â
âUh, sheâs the only real adult relationship you ever had and you had a poster of her on your wall. Makes one think things. In fact, I believe that poster is still up.â
Jamie canât help but scoff at her words. Not in a dismissive way necessarily but this whole conversation seems so silly to him. Yeah, he loved Keeley in a way and yeah sheâs still one of his best friends but never has she come close to (Y/N). Keeley hardly ever got to see the real Jamie, the one that didnât hide behind this larger-than-life footballer persona. (Y/N) met him before that persona even existed.
âStop thinking things then. Youâre my best girl, always.â
He still canât see her face since she is looking at the road in front of them, but he can see the smile pulling the corner of her lips upwards, and for the moment thatâs good enough for him.
Her car comes to a stop in front of Jamie's house but while he drags himself out of his seat, she stays put.Â
âWhat are you doing, love?âÂ
âDropping you off?âÂ
âAre you not coming inside then?âÂ
âDo you want me to come inside? We spent pretty much all week with each other, I thought you might be sick of me by now.âÂ
A ridiculous thought if heâs ever heard one. He could never get sick of her. They could be glued to each other for the rest of eternity and he wouldnât mind one bit.Â
Even in his drunk state of mind though, he realizes thatâs not something he can tell her. That crosses out of friend territory. So he just chuckles and rolls his eyes.
âDo I want you to come in? What a dumb question is that? Of course, I do. I have a bag of those disgusting spicy crisps waiting for you in my kitchen.â
âIn that case ââÂ
10 minutes later theyâre sitting on his couch, her legs across his lap, munching away at those god-awful crisps as some overly dramatic American home renovation show flickers across the TV screen.Â
In moments like these, love lives here. In these walls and on this couch. And itâs terrifying because thinking about love also makes him think of the possibility of losing it. But every once in a while, Jamie lets himself feel a tiny bit of it. Just enough to keep him going.Â
âHey Jamie,â she speaks up, her face only illuminated by the light coming from the TV. Sheâs wearing his shirt and he wills himself not to focus too hard on that because that will cause images to ghosts through his mind that he canât allow himself to ever think about. Images that cross every line ever drawn when it comes to friendships.
âYes, love?âÂ
âYouâre my best boy too. Not sure I ever told you.âÂ
He doesnât answer, not in words at least. But he squeezes her legs as they rest on him, and he hopes she knows. Oh god if only she knew.Â
Jamie Tartt is hard to love. At least he thinks so. (Y/N) knows he thinks so because he let it slip once or twice when he was drunk and his words were all jumbled and his mind was all hazy.Â
And every damn time it breaks her fucking heart. Because loving Jamie Tartt is the easiest thing she ever did. It comes as natural as breathing. It feels like a nice ray of summer sun on her skin, sizzling and exciting and warm.
Loving Jamie is a gift.
Now if only there was a way she could make him realize that. But every time he lets himself be even a little vulnerable he is so quick to cover the cracks with stupid jokes or misplaced arrogance before a real conversation can happen.Â
She needs him to realize it though. To understand that loving him isnât difficult. Because how can you tell someone you love them and make them understand just how much they mean to you when they deem themself unlovable?Â
Turning her head to the side she looks at his sleeping face. Somewhere between Fixer Upper and House Hunters, he fell asleep, leaving her alone with her thoughts. Heâs snoring something awful but she still thinks heâs adorable. Jamie has a mischievous, lovable quality to him that just makes you open your heart to him whether you want to or not. Yeah, sure, heâs let people down, heâs done shitty things, but heâs trying. Heâs learned and heâs changed and the price for being young and stupid and cocky should not be a life spent questioning if you deserve other peopleâs love.Â
Jamie Tartt is not hard to love. But loving him and not being able to tell him because he doesnât love you in quite the same way, thatâs just fucking cruel.
The air is loaded with static. Everyone is on the edge of their seat. (Y/N) is huddled in between Rebecca and Keeley, holding their hands and nervously biting at her lip. Emotions are running high as Richmond is playing Manchester. Correction â theyâre not only playing them, they are kicking their asses.
Itâs 2-0 for Richmond and theyâre already 1 minute into the 3 minutes of additional time. If Manchester doesnât get a miracle, Richmond wins. The thought of that makes a fluttery feeling spread in (Y/N)âs stomach. If this is how she feels, she can only imagine what Jamie must feel like.Â
1:30
2 minutes
2:30
3 minutes.
âBlow the whistle. Come on. Blow the fucking whistle.âÂ
And as if he heard her pleading, the referee blows the whistle giving Richmond their win.Â
Laughter and cheers and songs fill the air as every Richmond fan is on their feet celebrating a win they so desperately wanted and that the team fought so hard for.
The win Jamie fought so hard for.Â
She tries to find him across the pitch but there are too many people, hugging and celebrating, too much noise. She just hopes he knows how proud she is.
And she hopes that somewhere out there his dad is watching. Sees him win, with the team he doesnât approve of. Watches him succeed and be the man he never was and never will be.
She hopes somewhere deep in the inky black pit that is his heart, he finds a glimmer of pride for his only son, even if it comes entirely belated.
Jamie has won quite a few matches by now and itâs always a great feeling but some wins stand out. This is one of them.
His heart is filled with gratitude and pride, and his entire system is flooded with adrenaline and utter euphoria. Heâs positively buzzing as the team gathers in the hallway leading toward the locker room. Some of them have been whisked away to give short post-match interviews â as if there is much to say other than how fucking awesome it feels to win â while the others are waiting for them to come back so they can all meet up at the locker room for some after match briefing.Â
âSuperstar, you did it!âÂ
Her voice carries through the hallway above the rest of all the noise. Like a siren calling out to him, she canât hear anything but her, it all shifts into the background.
She weaves through the crowd like a fucking goddess in blue. He always thought she looked good in the Richmond colors and seeing her with his name on her back never fails to make his heart shutter with delight. But thereâs something about today that makes this even more special.Â
Maybe itâs the adrenaline of winning. Of making his mom proud and proving his dad wrong. Of proving himself wrong. Maybe itâs seeing her in his kit, with his name and his number smiling that radiant smile of hers. Maybe itâs a combination of all these things. But something makes his brain short-circuit for a moment. Just a fleeting moment but long enough to make him push through the crowd until heâs standing in front of her, matching smiles on their faces. Just long enough for him to softly place one hand on her waist and pull her closer, so unbelievably close. Just long enough to cradle her face in his other hand, gentle and careful, like the most precious thing in the world. Long enough for him to place his lips on hers in a kiss so sweet, so long in the making, it feels surreal. It feels like heâs still stuck in his saccharine daydream.
And then reality snaps back and he pulls away, opening his eyes to a smiling (Y/N) staring back up at him through curious eyes.
âSilly boy, what was that?âÂ
She doesnât sound upset, in fact, his delusions might even make him think she sounds delighted.Â
âI â âÂ
âJamie, locker room. Letâs go, boy!âÂ
Tedâs voice calls out to him all full of glee and jubilation. The guy sounds even more chipper than usual and that says a whole lot.Â
Pulling away from her feels like having a bubble suddenly popped. Every what-if that has been clouded by post-win euphoria suddenly bears their ugly head again. Sometimes Jamie wishes his thoughts werenât so fucking loud all the time.
âGo, your coach is asking for you. Iâll see you at the after-party. Weâll talk then, yeah?â
Only they donât because, for some inexplicable reason, Jamie avoids her like the plague.
Everyone is gathered at the bar for celebratory drinks, itâs a private function, just the team and family and associates. Spirits are high, everyoneâs excited. And all things considered this night should be magical. Only itâs not, because once again Jamie refuses to let himself be loved.
Rejection tastes bitter. Itâs sharp and metallic. Rejection also tastes quite a lot like tequila.
The salt, the lime, the liquor â itâs supposed to make her feel better. Itâs supposed to mend the cracks in her heart, if only for a night.Â
It doesnât do any of that, it only makes her fucking sad.
How foolish of her to believe that heâd feel the same, that heâd finally pick up on the hints sheâs been dropping for over a decade and reciprocate the feelings. Maybe they never stood a chance anyway. Maybe â
No, actually fuck that.
He canât do this, itâs unfair. You donât kiss someone, not like that at least, and then ignore them for the rest of the night. Especially not when that person is your best fucking friend.
Bumping against people left and right, she makes her way across the room to stand next to a smiling Jamie deep in conversation with a pretty girl, who (Y/N) is quite sure is the sister of one of his teammates.
âI need to talk to you.â Itâs not a request. Not this time. This conversation has been a long time coming. Itâs time, she thinks, to finally be brave. One can only swallow down their feelings and emotions for so long, until they come bubbling to the surface like a fucking volcano rolling over Pompeii. She just hopes that once the dust settles there will be hope instead of death and destruction.
âUh, kind of in the middle of something here.âÂ
She canât stand this part of him. This fake, unbothered cool guy who has no empathy for her or anyone other than himself. She hates it mostly because this is not the real Jamie, just some cardboard cutout version of him.
âToo bad, that'll have to wait.âÂ
She doesnât give him another second to resist or shake her off, just grabs onto his arm and pulls him through the crowd and towards the exit.
The nightly London air feels cold against her skin, making her shiver as goosebumps appear on her arms.
âWhat the fuck is going on with you?â
âWhat the fuck is going on with me?â
He canât be serious.
âYeah. I had something going there. She was well fit too.â
The urge to smack him across his stupidly handsome face is seriously fighting her desire to kiss him again right about now.
âGood for her but you owe me a conversation.â
â(Y/N), I â âÂ
The way he rolls his eyes so dismissively, so suave and cool, itâs like a dagger straight to the heart.
âNo, you know what â fuck you, Jamie. I know you have a hard time letting people in completely, and I get that thatâs something you have to work through on your own time but the way you're treating me right now is really shit. You canât kiss me like that and then run. Iâve been waiting for that fucking kiss for over a decade.âÂ
âWhat?âÂ
He looks at her with the signature Jamie Tartt look of confusion and innocence. Like a damn puppy or something. And if she wasnât so annoyed, so hurt, maybe sheâd find it endearing.
âIâm in love with you, Jamie. Iâve been in love with you since the day I met you. Iâve been in love with you since I was sat next to you in class and you asked me if Pythagoras was that French guy. Iâve loved you when you were just a chaotic teenager. Iâve loved you when you won your first game and when you lost. Iâve loved you when you signed your first contract and when you made a complete fool of yourself on that ridiculous tv show. And I love you now. So to think you finally picked up on it and reciprocate my feelings was â I was so happy, Jamie. Only for you to completely ignore me for the rest of the night. I donât deserve that. Not from you of all people. â
âWill you let me talk?â
âNo, Iâm not done yet.â
âAlright, go on.â
âI love you, Jamie and I know you think I shouldnât and that you donât deserve it, but guess what? I donât care. I love you anyway and I am not asking for permission to love you. Thatâs not how it works. And I donât love you despite your flaws, I love them too. Even your stupid 2003 looking haircut and your ridiculous clothes that make you look like a male Bratz doll sometimes. Sorry people in your life made you feel like you had to earn it just because they couldnât see how phenomenal you are. Just you, Jamie Tartt, messy little prick.âÂ
Silence wraps around them like a thick blanket as a moment passes, then two. Jamie raises his eyebrows in question.
âCan I?â
âYes, you can!â
âJesus, alright. Stop yelling at me.â
âWell, Iâm upset!â
âAnd Iâm sorry about that. I never meant to upset you. Ever. I just â do you remember that one birthday, I think I turned 12, when me dad showed up and he was just being his usual asshole self and he made me play against him and then yelled at me in front of all the guests when he won? â
She sure does. Even at 12, she wanted to put her tiny little fist straight between Mr. Tarttâs eyebrows. âYes.â
âYou sat with me when I went to my room to escape. Refused to leave my side. Called my dad a wanker and you made me laugh. Then you got me a piece of cake and we ate it on my bed while watching Spongebob.â A smile plays on his lips as he reminisces about that day.
âI was 12 and I didnât know a lot but I knew that night that I was in love with you and I immediately promised myself I wasnât gonna do anything about it. Losing you is the scariest thing I can think about and my track record with people is pretty shit, honestly. So yeah I didnât want to even risk fucking up with you. Rather have you as a friend than not have you at all.â
âSo why did you kiss me earlier after all?â
âFor one, you looked so fit in blue, with my name on your back. I was full of adrenaline and just so fucking happy. I uh â I think my mind was telling me that itâs finally time to be brave for once.â
Hearing him say it, itâs something she never expected but always hoped for. Sheâs played this scene out so many times in her dreams and yet she doesnât know what to say or do now that it is actually happening.
âSo what now?â
âWell, if you let me, I was gonna kiss you. Because if you think that other kiss was great, this next one is going to change your life.â
As those words fall from his lips, (Y/N) canât get close to him quick enough. Pulling him towards her by the front of his shirt. Closer and closer until there is no room left between them and he gently nuzzles his nose against hers.Â
âJamie Tartt?âÂ
âHmm?â
âChange my life!â
Jamie Tartt is hard to love. At least he thought so. And maybe a part of him still does and always will. But kissing (Y/N), his best girl, the fucking love of his life, it feels quite easy to let himself be loved.Â
Feels as easy as breathing. And for once in his life, the reality is so much sweeter than the daydream.Â

Check (Spencer Reid x Reader)
Literally my first fanfic since middle school, sorry y'all. I got that Spencer Reid brainrot. ALSO how does this work on Tumblr??? I legit haven't done this since you could fancast on Wattpad.
Spencer Reid x Reader | 1,470 words | Fluff | GN!Reader
Literally you two on the jet playing chess, set in season one/early season two.
âDo not even think about it!â You yelled, âIâm going to win if this is the last thing I do!â
Reid struggled to stifle his crooked smirk. He knew you were just going to get more upset if you saw him smiling. âI was just going to say youâre in check.â
âIâm going to put you in check in a second, Reid.â The chessboard was beginning to mock you. It must have been rigged. There must have been magnets underneath the board changing everything making this impossible to win. Plus Morganâs soft snorts whenever you yelled at Reid reminded you that the rest of the team was watching you get your ass handed to you.
âActually you have less than a three percent chance of doing that,â Reid explained. âAnd if anything about the last six games have been telling then itâs probably lower than that.â
âI swear to God, Reid,â you exclaimed. âIâll show you what check looks like.â
You werenât even sure how you got here. Gideon had cornered you after the case saying âhe needed to rest on the jetâ and that âyou should get Reid to teach you how to play chessâ something something âitâll make you a better profilerâ something something else. You were bad for not always listening to Gideonâs Dad-isms, but you couldnât always help it. You wanted to rest! The week in New Mexico had been exhausting. You wanted nothing more than to close your eyes on the jet with your headphones blasting whatever awful audiobook you started before the case that you didnât really care about and sleep. Sleep like no one could wake you up for another thousand years. Plus, you were pretty sure it was more of the case of Gideon was worried about Reid and less of you needing to be a better profiler. Sure, you werenât the top of your class but you were far from a fledgling who needed chess to make you better at your job.Â
Despite that, there you sat. Six lost games of chess later, and only an hour and a half into the four and half hour flight. Maybe it was pathetic to try to fight at this point. The cheat sheet Reid had written up for you felt useless. The pieces all blurred together and what even was the difference between a rook and a bishop?
âAre you going to make a move?â Reid asked.
âYes! Iâm just thinking,â you shifted the way you were sitting, slightly bumping the table, getting a terribly brilliant idea. The pieces had just jumped slightly as you hit the table by accident. You just had to sell it.
âDo you feel that Reid?â You asked, the fake worry dripping like honey from your voice.
âFeel what?â He snapped his head back and forth between you and the side of the jet.
âOh no! Turbulence!â You shifted your legs again, crossing them differently; in the process you kicked the table from underneath as hard as you could. The chess pieces dramatically went flying much further and harder than you expected. Rooks and pawns scattered across the table and the floor in front of both you and Reid.
âWhat? Thereâs no turbulence, you canât just scatter the pieces because you were losing!â Reid yelled trying to grab pieces and place them back in their positions. âPlus, I have an eidetic memory, I know where the pieces were!â
The rest of the team was laughing; pulled away from their activities to watch the commotion. You groaned and leaned under the table to grab the pieces.
âIf you donât want to play, you donât have to,â Reidâs face hadnât fallen, but from the tone of voice part of you felt it was laced with something. It felt reminiscent of disappointment, but like he was trying to mask it.Â
You sensed it before you processed it and began to speak on pure instinct. âSorry, Reid, why donât we reset?â
Part of you wanted to get to know the brainiac doctor better and this was the opportunity to do so, but it would mean admitting you were bad at something. Somehow you were the most competitive person on the team, and Gideon must have known that. You were always getting your nose into arguments trying to win sheerly for the fact of wanting to win, less about caring about a topic. Some people saw that as a flaw, but you always saw it as the trait that got you here. You lived your life out of spite, and competitiveness was the unfortunate consequence of that. By the time you had grabbed the single pawn off the floor, Reid had leaned under the table searching for it too.Â
âI got it,â you sigh and go to stand up. In the moment of fate, your confidence was struck down even lower to the lowest of clichĂŠs. In a flash of an instance, as the two of you attempted to right yourselves and unfold from underneath the table, you hit heads. It was just like those cheesy rom coms that Garcia forced you to watch on your girlsâ nights that you pretended to hate.Â
âOh shit, sorry Reidââ
âNo, Iâm sorryâ IâIâmâUmâSorry, Iââ Reid stuttered, and you realized just how precarious your position was, nose to nose under the table where no one could see you.
It was the first time you were that close to Reid, the infamous germaphobe who refused handshakes from everyone always seemed to keep his distance from you. You finally got a good look at him. Glasses that framed his face, his soft doe-like brown eyes, and brown hair that curled just so gently under his ears. The heat began to rise to your face, and Reidâs face had the same reaction. The red blush spread from the apples of his cheeks to his ears and down his neck. You cursed the universe that he was exactly your type: gangly limbs, genius-intellect, perfect eyes and all.Â
Reid practically jumped trying to get out from under the table, hitting his head as he went and sat back at the seat. You steadied yourself with a deep breath and climbed out from under the table. When you resurfaced, you avoided Reidâs gaze, and Morganâs eyes were the first that you met. As began to realize your mistake, he began to purse his lips and rub his hands up his arms as if he was poorly making out with his imaginary woman.Â
âMorgan, if that's how you kiss a woman, I feel sorry for Garcia,â you laced your words with as much venom as you could muster.
You turned back to Reid who was carefully lifting and replacing the chess pieces on the squares.Â
âDid you know that chess was actually called chaturanga when it was first played in India in the 8th century CE? Plus it was actually played on an eight by eight grid and it wasnât until it began to spread to Europe in the 10th century CE that it began to shift to the chess weâre playing. Even then it would take over a thousand years before either of us would know how to play,â Reid was coping as best as he could, even though you were afraid you broke him. He was relying on his intellect to avoid the topic at hand.Â
Why was he even so embarrassed? Why were you? It wasnât like you thought he was attractive. Sure, he was your type! But that didnât mean anything. You could think a man was hot without wanting to date him. And sure, he was perfect for you, and maybe you were even more competitive than usual because you wanted to impress him but that would be ridiculous.Â
OhâŚ
You were down bad.Â
âI didnât know that, although Iâm sure you can play chess, I think Iâm just moving pieces around,â you shamefully admitted.
âYouâll get it, donât worry, once you know how the piece moves it will get easier,â Reidâs reassurance immediately struck your heart. Damnit.Â
âWhy donât you just explain it all to me again?â You asked. âLike treat me like Iâm a kid, maybe Iâll get it better then.â
âOkay, so there are 32 pieces on a chessboard, and you control 16 of them. There are six types of piecesâŚâ
âYou knew what you were doing,â Hotch leaned over to Gideon watching the two members of the team playing chess; staying as carefully out of earshot as he could. Reid carefully re-explaining the pieces, pointing to each one.Â
âOf course I did,â Gideon said. âIf the two of them pined after each other in silence for two more minutes I thought I was going to lose it. Now they have four hours to spend with each other because neither of them will give up.â

đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸
After picking up lando from his hotel we headed out towards the boat that the party is held taking empty wide roads to really drive the thing, drifting and doing a few donuts in an empty parking lot just for the thrill of it but making sure to actually arrive in the boat party you both got out of the car talking and laughing entering and finding Martin by the dj booth.
Greetings were exchanged talking and laughing until the second round of drinks that started to kick in hopping around, dancing and sings to the rhythm being surrounded by the Dutch men.
You two weren't fazed by the phones recording your every move because you were having fun and a little tipsy, not that you would admit it both to anyone that in fact you were drunk continuing with the drinks and having fun and just as you were getting drinks you got elbowed in the face not really hard but enough to cause a little mountain the next hour not really noticeable.
Lando in the other hand just as you were nearing him again was hit or something because his nose was bleeding you drank both of them quickly and ran up to him while near you can see the bloody roll down in this lips and teeth he smiled at you teeth bloody, you started to laugh at the situation. Someone had a first aid kit and you cleaned the wound putting a plaster on the cut and a bandage wrapped around his head loosely because you were drunk it was going to be messy.
When you finished you started to laugh again at his stupid look he looked like a mummy but who cares? You two didn't nor did the men around you so you both continued dancing, bouncing, shouting lyrics and drinking again. You weren't piss drunk you could think and walk straight and so was lando, playing some songs with martin lando djing for a bit so will could take a break, talking to you laughing and gossiping about news lately and having fun and creating the mood for the actual club that Will, Lando and you will be going to after the pre party in the boat. You were sure you will regret going to another club but current you don't care about it, future you maybe.
You weren't a light weight by any means, starting drinking from a young age and in your teenage years going out drinking almost everyday drinking made it hard for you to get drunk so you were good by half of the actual party in the club but you wouldn't say lando was the same...
Cutting your night in the what you seen fit as to lando wouldn't start throwing up but you could see he was ready to do anyway calling a taxi and telling him the directions of your hotel so you won't drive while drunk.
Taking him by his bicep and wrapping one hand around his shoulder and the other in his arm you payed for the drinks you ordered and left, waiting for the taxi to arrive he was talking to you, whispered things, making sentences up that made no sense, talking gibberish almost falling in his face while you were laughing and loose the grip around him and quickly regaining strength keeping his upright the taxi finally arrived.
Getting him inside and going arout the car so you could take care of him he laid his head in your lap while you slowly and softly graced your hand through his brown curls and stroking his cheek softly while he closed his eyes smiled and opening one eye to look up at you periodically while you made small conversations with the driver which was a fan of the sport and you learned his daughter's favourite driver was you from a young age looking up at you and asking for a photo with you, he wanted a photo with lando but he was asleep so you decided against it, when you arrived you took his phone got a selfie with him and one alone from a high angle so he was visible but not his face just his hat and hoodie that he got out with, you paid the driver and slowly got out of the car and went around the car again opening the door taking his hand waking him up a little so he can get out but he feel asleep again on you as you closed the door.
You again wrapped a hand around him and holding his other firmly you opened the hotel door and getting inside the building, the receptionist was eyeing you but you didn't care you were determined to get him safe and tugged in, heading in the elevator you waited for the doors to close and pressing the button of your level.looking at the mirror you see on your dress a bit of blood from lando's nose you looked a bit disheveled with your eye sparkly eyeshadow somehow under your eye, the lipstick long gone now in its place your lip pencil a bit smeared around the corners of your mouth, in your forehead a little knob and in lando having his head buried in your neck seamingly asleep by his slow rhythmed breathing that was hitting your neck practically hugging you, the elevator pinged letting you know that you got to your floor you started trying to wake him up to stop hugging you but he didn't budged you decide to just carry him to your door which was easier taking out your card key which luckily you took out of your wallet in the taxi and opened the door.
Upon entering you left him to the bed trying once again to gently wake him up so he could change, you left the club at 4 :30 and now you read the clock it said 5 : 30 so you did all of this in an hour and in heels... He is gonna pay fro this but for now you laid a hoodie that you had oversized and long shorts again oversized that you knew that would fit you took your pj's and headed to the bathroom, you washed your face to get rid of the make up and changed out of the dress and heels.
Going again the the bed you saw lando's clothes messily tossed around the side of the bed he was occupying and in your clothes, the hoodie was one of your merch with a red bull logo in the back and you are not gonna tell that to him, wanting him to walk out with it, he was lying in your bed the covers covering most of him but his back and head out you took a picture and tugged him in and walking to your side of the bed pulling up the covers and getting in falling asleep almost instantly, felling a pair of hands wrapping around you and a head to your neck going closer to lando cuddling up on you and falling asleep peacefully
đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸đď¸
Waking up in the morning was a struggle, you wouldn't say it was really a morning but evening waking up at 1pm by calls on your phone. Lando still asleep but starting to stir awake too by the annoying ringing of your phone you took your phone from the night stand you answered the phone without looking who it was
It was max
( the convo went like this)
Red : max / pink : y/n
Y/n? Why aren't you answering my calls? I have been calling you non stop from the morning where are you?
Max lower your voice... I have been sleeping what do you want? I am in my hotel room rn sleeping
Why are you still sleeping? What time did you leave the club last night?
4:30
Why? How did you get to the hotel?
Omg max can you interrogate me later? Let me sleep man...( a raspy voice could be heard in the background : stop talkinggg and then a sigh) shut up. Anyway I will call you back lat-
No! No don't fucking hang up! Are you with someone I heard a man! Who is he?!
Omg max! It's lando what do you want? I will talk to you later good bye!
I said and hand up the call not waiting for max to reply and rolled over now cuddling lando and falling asleep again for a few minutes then waking up by lando leaving the bed.
After he got a shower he came back and by then I dressed up to get food because I was starving waiting for lando you go together. We did you got a few pictures with fan and got food.
After that you called max and explained everything at some point max came with us to a few stored and hung out together and took max's plane and went to Monaco each to their own homes.
That's it thank you! ( not the end of the series tho)

Freud Said We Should Fuck [Hotch x Reader]
Photo credits: Left and Right (@shakespearesdaughters) Center (@hotchs-big-hands)
Prompt: When Aaron makes a Freudian slip on the jet, he and the reader get flushed, and later, once the case is finished, the reader finds him in his office on a lonely Saturday and teases him about it. Aka, when the reader and Hotch do something in his office other than paperwork.Â
Pairing: Aaron x fem BAU-reader. The reader uses she/her pronouns
Category: Fluff/angst/smutÂ
Word Count: 9.9KÂ
A/N: Hi loves! First off, this story is 18+, minors DNI. Please respect this boundary. Iâm finally back writing again and Iâm so happy about it. However, I feel like itâs going to take me a bit to get back into the swing of things. I had a lot of my AU written and then I just thought it was moving too slow. So Iâve put that on hold for a bit and gone back to what I love smut. I donât think the sex here is the best Iâve ever written, but I still like it. This idea came about because @silk-spun and I were chatting about Aaron and office sex and I couldnât stop thinking about it - so naturally I wrote it. Please have a look at the notes before reading as there are some things that some plot points that some readers might want to avoid. I hope you like this and if you do, likes, comments, and replies are appreciated! Content Warnings under the cut. I hope you are having a good week. Love Levi - â¤ď¸
Content Warnings: There are two unsubs mentioned in this fic: The one most talked about is a family annihilator [There are mentions of wives and children being killed, depiction of dead bodies, description of a bloody room, mention of suicide via gun (unsub)] The second unsub kills at random [There are mentions of poisoning, falling to oneâs death and drowning (the body is briefly described)] Mention of past trauma and abuse [Hotch] and the mention of an absent father. There is also sex: touching over the clothes, sex in a semi-public setting [Hotchâs office] fellatio, p in v (unprotected] Very slight dom vibes from the reader and Hotch and the slightest mention of a size kink. If I missed any, please let me know.Â

The team sat in the jet as they moved toward Evansville Indiana. The skilled agents were bantering ideas off of each other, as they normally did. This unsub was very blatant with their modus operandi. As Aaron had debriefed in the conference room an hour earlier with the team and Garcia, he said, âThe unsub weâre dealing with allegedly has three distinct personalities. Although I would be hesitant to diagnose anyone with a split personality disorder or DID. Many people with this condition are stigmatized due to the negative stereotypes associated with that name. If our unsub does have this condition, then we work from there. But with what we know now, this might just be a part of the ritual and pattern. The police are adamant that itâs a suspect from a mental hospital, but be wary of this. J.J. I want you to cut this off at the bud as soon as we get to the station. The media liaison nodded and replied, âYou got it Hotch. Iâll clear that up and make sure they havenât come up with any nicknames either. That always gets the press in a stir.â Aaron nodded. There wasnât time for that kind of coverage right now. The team needed to jump in immediately once they touched down. This unsub had a swift turnaround time, killing in heinous and various ways almost every other night. His signature was that at the body of each victim, the unsub left a note from either the Id, the Ego, or the Superego, and by how killing his victims, the unsub had âcured them,â and how the cure had worked. The killer's notes were reminiscent of Freudâs case notes, detailed and a bit deranged. The methods of death had been drowning, poisoning, being drowned, and most recently a fatal fall from a high cliff on a popular walking trail. _y/n_ had cringed at the sight of the drowned victimâs bloated body. It was blue and purple from its extended time in the water. The poisoned victim didnât look any better. As was usual with BAU cases, the victims had suffered significantly before their deaths. _y/n_ had asked the group as a whole once the note element came out, âIs this guy serious? I mean, Freud is more infamous than famous at this point. His clients were all wealthy Swiss members of society, and he was ridiculed later in life for changing his theories all the time. I mean, how many Fruedians are still honestly out there?â Spencer happily replied, âIn terms of clinical, licensed therapists? Iâd say very few. Probably around 0.5 percent at this point. But that doesnât mean that psychoanalysis isnât still used in a good deal of therapeutic systems. I mean âTalk Therapyâ is the norm in most EBT therapy systems. So although Freud and Heidegger might have faded to obscurity, their theories remain.â Hotch had nodded and said stoically, âWheels up in thirty. We can continue this discussion on the plane. If the unsub sticks to his pattern. They might have a new victim already.âÂ
Thus the team, plus Penelope were on the plane like normal. Once the jet hit cruising altitude, the team seemed to relax a bit They all fell into their usual clusters, and Hotch observed them. _y/n_, Rossi, and Spencer were continuing the psychological aspect of the case with _y/n_, while Em, Derek, and Garcia talked about the victimology and methods of the murders. Lastly, JJ was writing up a short press brief for the police and the public. Aaron knew we could never be thankful enough for the work that JJ did for the team. She covered their backs more than he could ever imagine. It was hard enough doing the job they did, but having JJ backing them up meant they werenât smeared in the press even more. Hotch made his way to her. He sat on the seat next to hers and looked over her work. The blond woman handed him a notebook page with her statement from the police force. She said, âThis is what Iâve got so far. If you have any more legal or profiler things youâd like me to add, just note them in the margins.â The woman handed him a blue ballpoint pen, and Hotch did his best to look carefully and thoroughly over the short blurb. He added a few police procedural things, but otherwise, it looked good. Aaron pushed the paper back on the small table and said, âLooks good J. I just added a few notes. Let me know when you have the one for the public done, and look it over too.â JJ looked up at him as he stood and said, âYou got it Hotch. And Iâll make those corrections after Iâm done with this.â Aaron then moved to Em, Morgan, and Garcia. They were looking at a map both on the seat and on Penelope's computer. Derek and Em were pinpointing the sites of the victim's body on the physical map while Garcia did the same on her laptop. The trio was trying to make a geographic profile and also see if the sites were linked to a road, river, or some natural feature. All three victims had been found in parks or locations adjacent to parks. As Hotch looked over the map, Emily said, âGiven the natural locations of the dump sites and how well-versed the unsub seems to be with local and national parks in the area, this person may be a game warden or resource officer or something like that. Those positions are often isolating and not well-paid. Maybe the unsub has emotions tied to their work. That theyâre not achieving enough, or making enough of an impact?â Hotch nodded at the logic of her statement and said to Garcia, âOnce youâve done that work, Garcia, look up the databases for Park Service workers and Game Wardens and make a preliminary risk. Target those who work in the parks where the victims were found and those that have been having problems at work or have had problems at work in the last two months.â Garcia loved getting directions from Aaron. She always thought that his brain was close to hers, except that he was just the quiet version of her. She smiled and said, âAye, aye captain. Coming right up.â Aaron gave Garcia a small smile and said, âThanks Penelope.âÂ
Aaron got up again. Before he moved to the last group, he was going to get a cup of coffee for himself _c/t_Â for _y/n_. It was their ritual on the plane now. When they were in the office, _y/n_ got him coffee from the breakroom, and when they were on the jet, he got her drink. Aaronâs and _y/n_ relationship had moved from a strong friendship to a light romance, to, in the last six months, a much more heated and sexual affair. Of course, neither of them could say, and much less do anything while they were at work but show small gestures of affection for the other. Aaron and _y/n_ were both professional and could easily keep their relationship work-coded. That didnât however, mean that Hotch didnât think about the things they did off the clock. The sound of _y/n_âs bright laugh had his mind reeling back to last weekend. It had been a lazy Saturday morning at his place. She had mentioned getting a snack from the coffee shop down the street before going on a walk in the park or going to get a new book for Jack, who was currently at Haleyâs. Aaron had sleepily said something like, âI think youâre enough of a snack as it is, _y/n_â as he rolled onto his back.
There was a moment of silence before _y/n_ started softly laughing. Hotch moved his eyes to her. He expected her to stop laughing after a minute, but his gaze only had her laughing more loudly. She was nearly in stitches as her mirth overflowed. Hotch, not quite sure what had caused her to be so joyful, poked her side and said, âAlright, I give up. Whatâs so funny? Is my breath bad or something?â Even as Hotch asked, he couldnât stop himself from starting to laugh too. This was something unique with _y/n_. She allowed him to open up emotionally in ways that he rarely even had. After _y/n_ had caught her breath she said, âIs that your attempt at dirty talk Hotch? If so you need to take a course.â Aaron scoffed at that and said teasingly, âIâll make you eat those words _y/n_.â As he finished that sentence, he leaned over her and kissed her. He started lightly but became more intense as _y/n_ ran her tongue over his bottom lip. Soon enough, he was undoing the buttons of her night shift and moving his mouth lazily downward with _y/n_ saying his name breathily every time he nipped her skin lightly with his mouth. His breath was hot on the cool expanse of her body. Aaron realized as he started to make the encounter more intimate and relished in how her body responded to his.
Hotch knew that apart from being with _y/n_, he was about as closed off as human could be, and he knew it. His past as a child had inherently shown him that weakness meant pain and suffering and as hard as he had tried to grow out of that, he still had some of those mental barriers up, and they often rose when he was in situations that dealt with lots of emotions. Often he found himself unable to reciprocate. That was part of the reason that he assumed that he was so good at being a prosecutor and a profiler. Peopleâs emotions, whether they be the unsubâs or the victimâs didnât cause him to bluster, or lose sight of the bigger picture. He was sympathetic to the victims and listened to them with sincerity, but their pain often didnât affect him the way it did _y/n_. This was the reason that after he spoke to the various victims, he would direct them over to _y/n_ to talk further. So they could cry unabashedly and have someone to hold them tight as they did so. Often Aaron would catch her eyes as they made the silent trade-off. There was always a silent conversation that happened in these looks. It was Aaron saying, âThank you,â and _y/n_ responded, âI got you.â With time Aaron had slowly started dropping those barriers with _y/n_. She made him feel more human. More intact with his emotions such as joy and the ability to do the unexpected. Things and emotions which he had hidden inside himself a long time ago. The first time that Aaron had been very open to _y/n_ was the first time that he realized that he might have deeper feelings for _y/n_ than respect or camaraderie.Â
It had been a difficult case. One of the worst. The unsub had been a family annihilator. The man, Mr. Platheville, was targeting young families with only one child. The madman had killed two mothers and their children leaving the fathers to watch in horror and live with the site of the massacre they had witnessed. The first man they had found was shell-shocked and unable to move. An ambulance and mental health experts had been called for him. The next man had been so angry that Hotch and Derek had to hold the man back from hitting and punching himself or the wall or anyone within striking distance. _y/n_ had watched on with apprehension, trying to calm the man down with her words. Although those two cases had been horrible, it was nothing compared to the last. The unsub had called and said where he was and that he had another family hostage. There were audible screams on the other side of the phone. Mr. Plathville had said, âCome quickly. Please. I canât stop myself anymore.â At first, the team felt like this was a good step. A great step even. The man was giving himself up and asking for help. However, as the tapped line was about to be disconnected, a childâs voice cut in. It sounded scared and small as it said, âDaddy? Whatâs wrong with Mommy?â That had the whole team freeze. The realization that Plathville had his own family captive now had the team feel like the floor was dropping out from under them -- everyoneâs stomach sinking into knots. Hotch dropped the phone first and softly said, âEveryone, move, now.â After a second, he found his voice and said loudly, authoritatively, âMove. Now.â Aaron started running to the van, and he watched as his team followed him to both his car and the other SUV. _y/n_ and Rossi piled into Hotchâs car and hurriedly buckled as Hotch hit the gas pedal. The rubber tires squealed and burned on the concrete. _y/n_ had snatched the passenger seat in the front. Hotchâs jaw was set in a tight grimace as he sped down the road. His driving was close to erratic. It wasnât something _y/n_ had seen in him before. _y/n_âs eyes found Rossiâs in the review mirror. The older man also looked a bit concerned as well. Gently, _y/n_ placed a hand on Aaronâs upper arm. She could feel the muscle tight under his sleeve as his hands gripped the wheel. At her touch, Hotchâs eyes briefly left the road and met hers. Whatever expression she had on her face was enough to slow his driving speed. For him to pay closer attention to the road.Â
Hotch was making her nervous. He didnât seem like himself, but she didnât say anything. There would be time for that later. The vans came to a raging halt outside the address that Plathville had disclosed. The house seemed quiet. Eerily so. Derek and Hotch approached the door softly. Derek breached the door and the team rushed inside. The front foyer was dark and there was no sound reverberating around the open area. The team fanned out in the ranch-style house. Derek and Spencer moved to the left side of the house toward the kitchen and guest bedroom. Rossi and Emily took the upstairs, and Hotch and _y/n_ moved left toward the living room and master bedroom. The other families had been found in the living room, and _y/n_ braced herself for a similar scene. Hotchâs shoulders tensed as he moved into the entryway of the living room. It meant that this family was already dead too. _y/n_ felt a part of her break inside, but she pulled the pieces back together for the team. For those who had passed. Both agents stepped into the room. The fact that the walls, carpet, and sofa were cream-colored only highlighted the dark splatters marring the walls, couch, and carpet which was soaked with a dark stain. _y/n_ pointed to the light switch and mouthed, âShould I turn it on?â Hotch nodded his head no and inclined this head toward the bedroom door, indicating that Mr. Plathville might still be in the bedroom. It was the only space they hadnât breached. If Plathville was still in the house either alive or dead, it was in that room. As the calls of Spencer and Emily echoed through the house stating, âClear,â a small sound came from behind the closed door. Both agents' eyes snapped to the door, and they moved forward. Once they got to the door. Aaron held out a hand to stop her. He shook his head no. He leaned forward and whispered, âGo look at the bodies. And then stop the rest of the team from entering the living room.â _y/n_ met his dark eyes. They seemed to go on forever. He had the look he had before when the child had spoken on the phone. The same look he had had in the car. _y/n_ desperately wanted to know what was going on in his head, but again, now wasnât the time. _y/n_ nodded and moved back from the door. She moved to the two bodies on the floor but continued to watch as Aaron opened the door, stepped inside, and said, âMr. Plathville. Donât do this. Do you think this is the ending your wife and daughter would have wanted for you?â Hotch closed the door behind him, leaving the room in semi-darkness. Hotch could hear soft movement from the other side of the door. It was _y/n_ and it sounded like she was crying. Aaron pushed aside the soft sounds and focused only on Plathville. The cold metal weapon the unsub was holding in his dominant hand wasnât pointed in any direction, but it could be in an instant. Hotch didnât want _y/n_ in the room. Because Aaron knew family annihilators, he knew them because he lived with one of them as a child. As an adult, once he learned the proper terms for killers and sadists, he realized that if he hadnât taken the brunt of what his father doled out, his own father might have been a Plathville as well. Aaron didnât want _y/n_ to see what might happen. He didnât want her to see this. Hotch put up his hands and said, âPut down the gun Mr. Plathville. Youâve been a coward with how youâve treated others because they didnât do what you liked. Donât be a coward now, at the end. Face what youâve done and prove that youâre actually a man.âÂ
The unsub, eyes dark and glazed looked like he was about to set the gun on the bed. Aaron hoped that was what he was doing, but he didnât trust the man either. Just as the gun seemed to be safe, Plathville turned the weapon on himself. Outside the closed door, _y/n_ heard a very loud bang. A deafening sound. At this point, _y/n was standing by the hallway with Derek. Em, and Rossi. She was doing her best to keep the three other agents at bay. When the BAU team heard the gunshot, they all rushed back into the room. Derek drew his sidearm as they all did and breached the door. _y/n_âs heart pounded in her chest because she had left him alone. Alone with an unsub who they knew had a gun; and if Aaron was dead, she would never be able to forgive herself. Not for all time. As the team rushed into the room. Hotchâs strong profile stood out against the window. His nose and jawline were distinct against the streetlight that seeped light into the room through the casement window. Aaron seemed frozen on the spot and the still and bloodied body of Mr. Plathville was slumped on the bed. _y/n_ moved forward and avoided her gaze from the new body. She took Aaronâs arm and pulled him out of the room. Not just the room but the house as well. She sensed that he needed the space away from the darkness emanating from the home. The graveyard.Â
When they were at the side of the house opposite the bedroom, _y/n_ stopped. She looked down at his shoes, they had blood splatters on the toe. She looked _u/sf/d_ at him. His face was also splattered with blood. _y/n_ reached over, pulling the cuff of her white sleeve over her palm; she started wiping away the viscous red fluid from his sharp facial features. _y/n_ reflected for a moment on how attractive Aaron really was, with his stoicism and strong jaw, and how terrible a time it was for such thoughts to surface. _y/n_ pushed them away as Hotch seemed to come to himself, as she moved her hand to the other side of his face. The blood smears here were larger. There was other matter that _y/n_ would rather not speculate on. Aaronâs left hand raised and pushed her own dirtied sleeve away from his face. Hotch seemed to take a small breath, and he looked like a child who had been caught doing something wrong. _y/n_ wondered if it was his showing emotion out in the open that he perceived as being bad. She looked back at him before he seemingly crumpled into _y/n_âs arms. Low sobs reverberated on her shoulder. Tears staining _y/n_âs already soiled shirt. _y/n_ was grateful the police cruisers were on the other side of the house. Parked on the gravel drive. _y/n_knew that they would have to move soon or else the team would come looking for them. She was sure Hotch would not want to be found in such a compromised state.
_y/n_ didnât know what else to say than, âIâm sorry Hotch. I know itâs sick and fucked up, but at least thereâs no one else he can hurt. Not even himself.â And it was true. It burned _y/n_ that Mr. Plathville would face no consequences for his crimes of passion, but when an unsub took the end into their own hands, there was a certain finality to the matter. There would be fewer interviews and less press. There wouldnât be a trial or the need for written testimony from everyone involved. It felt like a twisted prize for a game no one had asked to play. After a moment, Aaron replied softly, âItâs not that. Or it is that and some other stuff. I donât know why Iâm like this. Iâm sorry.â _y/n_ frowned and pulled away a bit. Hotch looked at her with eyes asking, begging for her to stay. She took his right hand which was hanging limply at his side and said, âLetâs just walk down the drive and back. It will give you a moment to compose yourself. Get your thoughts in order. âAaron seemed to hesitate and said, âBut the police⌠the team, they might.â _y/n_ cut him off gently saying, âThey can wait. The cops have plenty of people to interview and material to bag and tag. They can wait while we take a five-minute walk.Â
_y/n_ found that walking got people talking. Particularly if the people were not wanting to open up. The movement and change of scenery seemed to give whomever she was walking with a breather and a chance to let out some thoughts if they wanted. If they didnât, then at least theyâd both gotten some fresh air. This technique had worked with Morgan, JJ, and Em. I had not worked with Spencer, but Spencer spoke so freely all the time that if he had something he didnât want to share, then he didnât want to share, and she understood that. This was the first time she was trying this method on Aaron. As they made it halfway up the drive, and not so much to her shock, Hotch let out a sigh and said, âIt was Jackâs birthday yesterdayâŚâ _y/n_ looked over to him briefly. His eyes were on the ground, Glued to it. She knew that wasnât the whole issue, but _y/n_ replied, âIâm sorry you had to miss that for this mess.â
They kept walking. and Aaron let out another breath and continued, âWhen I see people like Plathville, I see my father. I see a bit of myself in him as well.â _y/n_ furrowed her brow and turned to look at him, walking backward, matching his pace. She didnât know a lot about Hotchâs father apart from the fact that he was dead and had hurt Aaron very badly. Perhaps she could see a correlation there between the unsub and Hotchner Sr., but she couldnât see how Hotch was at all like either man. She asked for clarity saying, âWhat do you mean? I donât see how youâre like either of those monsters. Youâre tied to your father by blood, but heâs gone.â Aaron looked at her and then back down the dark path they were on. A lone streetlamp shone at the end of the road. They reached it and turned back before Aaron said, âItâs a pattern. They were both absent fathers. They both lashed out at things and people. And look at me. I hardly see Jack. It feels like once in a blue moon. And I might not be lashing out at people because my job takes out that stress. But look at me in the office, Iâm still anal about things. I just see these patterns. I donât want to fail as a father, and I feel like I am.â And there it was. There was the crux of his emotions and _y/n_ ached for his pain, for his fear, even if it seemed unfounded to her. It certainly wasnât unfounded to him, and sheâd never say that. As they moved back toward the house. _y/n_ was wording and rewording her response again and again in her head; she couldnât quite seem to come up with the perfect response. It all sounded too close to âI love you and other people love you too, canât you see that?â She felt the hairs picked up on the back of her neck and she looked over to Aaron. He was staring at her, Asking for some kind of reply. They were near the house again and she stopped, and he stopped too. Now _y/n_ gave a sigh, her breath making a little cloud in front of her face. She finally replied, âAaron, I donât know what this is going to sound like to you, but here it is. I think youâre tired. I havenât seen you sleep in three days straight because this case is so close to you. Itâs close because it involves a group of people who canât protect themselves, or their children. And I think in some ways after Haley filed, you think that you canât protect her or Jack either. But Aaron, youâve handled everything there with as much grace and compassion as you could. You did what Haley wanted and you still try and look after them. And maybe you donât see Jack as often as you like, but you try. I hear you call him at night when the teamâs away. And the stories you tell about when he spends the weekends over make it sound like you donât just shower him with gifts or love bomb him. Youâre trying to have a relationship with him. And I never hear you badmouth Haley, ever, which means your son can know that not all relationships work out but there can still be a kind of love and respect. A lot of kids donât get that.â _y/n_ took a breath and she saw in his eyes that he was coming more to himself, as she finished stating, âAnd about you being like your father, yeah, genes are passed down, but I donât believe that people are born bad. I think something bad happens to them and you either continue the cycle or break it. And youâre far too kind of a person, even if you donât show it, to keep doing what youâre father did. Youâd never do those things to another person. Youâre not him Hotch. You never will be.â
_y/n_ looked at him to see what his reaction to her words would be. Aaron looked like he might cry again, but was holding back those emotions. She hoped she hadnât overstepped some emotional or professional line, but she didnât have time to ask as Hotch stepped forward and wrapped her in a hug. His warm body enveloped her in the cold night. His breath fanned the _s/l_ hair at the nape of her neck. He whispered, âThank you for that, _y/n_. I needed to hear that.â When Aaron pulled back, he was himself again. He nodded and motioned his head toward the house. As he attempted to move forward, _y/n_ grabbed his coat sleeve, and he looked at her confused. _y/n_ said, âWipe the left side of your face Hotch. Itâs still bloody.â Aaron rolled his eyes and chuckled softly. They both started walking back to the house, and he wiped off his face. As they walked back, there was an understanding that something deeper had happened between them. As Aaron moved past the cruisers with red and blue lights still flashing, he raised the caution tape for _y/n_, and as she stepped under it. Aaron looked at her and felt a warmth seep through him. It bit through the cold outside, and he didnât mind it.Â
Aaron pulled his mind out of the haze that was focused on the sounds that _y/n_ had made last Saturday morning. Her moans and whimpers rang in his ears for a second longer. He was thankfully snapped back to the interior of the jet as a bit of turbulence rocked the aircraft. Aaron cleared his throat and moved to the coffee maker. He made himself a cup of black coffee first. He shot a prayer up to any possible deity up there that his body and mind had not synced enough for him to be aroused by his mind's inappropriate wandering. Having to hide an erection wasnât his idea of a fun time. It had happened once or twice before and he had to rush to the bathroom and splash cold water on his face and neck. When Hotchâs cup was done, he moved another clean styrofoam cup under the dispenser and started making _y/n_âs _t/c_. He stifled a yawn. He had spent much of the last two days working on field reports and revising the FBIâs security training. It was woefully behind the times. He had coordinated with Penelope and as helpful as Garcia was in terms of the technological aspects of cyber security, the lingo and Penâs energy had worn him out a bit. The Keurig beeped, indicating _y/n_âs drink was done. He doctored the beverage as she liked. Aaron half blamed his wandering mind on his lack of sleep and the case. Spencerâs clear voice cut through all the others and he was talking about the more interesting sexual elements of Freudâs theories including the more lurid Oedipus and Xena complexes. Reid was going on about how the notes from the unsub seemed to really dive into those theories even though there was no sexual aspect to the case yet. Hotch grabbed _y/n_âs cup and moved back to the final group he had not spoken with yet.Â
He sat next to _y/n_ and handed her her cup. _y/n_ looked at Hotch and gave him a small smile before taking a sip of her drink. _y/n_ had a random thought, as she mulled over the bizarre nature of the case. She said aloud, âWhat do you think Freud would think about people using his theories like this? I mean he was odd and problematic, but not that odd.â Aaron had his eyes closed, and he replied without even thinking said, âI think Freud would say we should fuck.â _y/n_ nearly spat out her drink. The liquid burned her throat as it went down. Hotch caught his mistake and flushed, quickly amending his statement saying, âI mean if Freud were still here, he would probably think the unsub would want to have intercourse with his victims. It could either be latent sexual attraction or transference of sexual desire for an authority figure like a parent or teacher. An attraction that shouldnât be acted out.â Hotch could feel his ears burning, and he hid his face by taking a long drink of his coffee. The dark liquid burned his mouth but this pain was better than having to face to look of utter shock of his friends. Thankfully the awkwardness only lasted a second longer as Spencer picked up on his hurried line of thinking saying, âYou could be right. This unsub might be impotent and killing as a means of sexual release. Or they could be killing as a displacement tactic for unwanted feelings.â Reid jumped into that conversation with a fervor and _y/n_ added her thoughts in too along with taking some notes on the comments Spence made.
Although Spencer didnât choose to comment on what Hotch had said, when the Unit Chief looked over at Rossi, his friend had an eyebrow raised and an expression that said, âReally, Aaron?â Hotch closed his eyes, sighed, and rubbed a hand over his eyelids as if saying, âIâm tired. Alright?â When Aaron opened his eyes again, Rossi just gave a little shrug as if saying, âHey. I have three ex-wives. Iâm not one to judge.â The older man ever so slightly looked over to _y/n_ and gave a small smile. The team knew that Hotch was seeing _y/n_. They were all too perceptive not to tell. But what he had just said was more personal than the team needed to know. At least not yet. Aaron liked keeping his private life private, and he would have to apologize to _y/n_ for putting their personal business out there like that. He was just thankful that he had made that slip of the tongue in front of Spencer and Dave and not Morgan and Garcia. There would be no end to the gossip if that had been the case. Aaron sat back in his seat and did his best to put back on the Unit Chief facade. One great thing was that he was able to compartmentalize his emotions and what had just happened was just a blunder. He fell easily back into the conversation and made himself useful to the team.Â
The case was a wild one with the team being kept on their feet, as the unsub devolved into crazier and more complex kills. Thankfully the unsub, one Kathy Kittery got sloppy as her mind crumbled under the weight of her own brain. Thus, only one other victim was lost, the others, though traumatized would make it through the ordeal. Ms. Kittery was a therapist who had had her license revoked after having an affair with a client. Once she had taken that blow, she had moved to a second career that had always interested her. Being a Ranger in a State Park. However, as it turned out, the mental isolation did not help with her already troubled state and she had slipped into acting on her delusions, thus the need for the team to come in the first place. After the unsub had been arrested, the team, as normal, was assured that she wouldnât be seeing freedom for a good long while. On the jet home, Aaronâs sexual comment was almost forgotten by everyone, including himself, but _y/n_ remembered and as she closed her eyes to sleep on the short flight back, her brain played out certain scenarios that she also wouldnât want to be voiced in front of the others. When the jet touched down, the team disembarked and _y/n_ asked Aaron as they walked back to the main office, âSo, what are you doing tomorrow?â Tomorrow was Saturday and she hoped that they could spend the day together or with Jack if he was staying over at Hotchâs that weekend. It felt like a while since they had had a good day to themselves. Work had piled up, and she longed for just a few solid hours with Aaron. Hotch, however, didnât seem to pick up on her tone as he was tired. He replied in a monotone, âProbably filling out paperwork in the office Iâm behind on like three cases worth and this makes a fourth.â _y/n_ pouted slightly. She knew she was being silly, but sometimes Aaron needed a break for his own good, and an idea started brewing in the back of her mind. If she had the nerve to do even half of what her head was cooking up, she would have done something she had been imagining for a long time. Longer than was appropriate probably. For the moment she just said, âMhm. Sounds productive.â Hotch scoffed as they both entered the sliding glass door. Even he knew his life, and particularly weekends sounded miserable sometimes. After all, he was the one that put him through them.Â
The next afternoon, _y/n_ pulled up to the Quantico field office. She parked her car next to Aaronâs and set her employee parking pass on the dash so it could be seen by security. _y/n_ chuckled remembering the one time that Derek had forgotten his pass and had his Corvette towed on a Saturday. Her athletic friend had been so flustered, saying, âOh come on! I work at the freaking FBI youâd think there would be some cameraâs in this lot and theyâd know I work here!â _y/n_ had laughed, patted his shoulder, and offered him a ride to the impound lot to pick up his flashy car. As _y/n_ moved through the mostly empty lot she smiled. Not that she expected there to be a lot of people at the office on a Saturday afternoon, but it boded well for what she had in mind. As entered the office and was waived through security quickly, she hadnât brought her gun or anything important with her. She entered the bullpen and looked up at Hotchâs office. His lights were on and she could see him looking at something on his desk. It was most likely a field report. The bullpen was empty and most of the lamps on the desks were off. One or two burned brightly in the soft space. One or two of the agents must have forgotten to turn them off in the rush to get home on Friday. She turned off the lamps as she texted Aaron, âHey, you at the office?â She looked up at his office window and his head turned to the side. Clearly, he had just received her message. His left hand raised and a second later her phone beeped. Hotch had sent back a simple âYes.â He was never one to be overly elaborate over text. If he was forced to type more than one full paragraph he would just give up and call instead. _y/n_ always chalked it up to his hands being too big for the small phone screen. He probably made a lot of accidental typos with his thumbs and had to go back and correct them which seemed like a thing that would annoy him to no end, even if he did have autocorrect on his phone. _y/n_ took a breath as she looked at Aaron again. He was back to his paper. _y/n_ had jokingly said she would do this if the spirit led her, but somehow seemed like the dirty things she was picturing in her head were driving her up the stairs and not âthe spirit.â Outside Hotchâs door, she knocked once and then turned the knob. She stepped into the dimly lit room and closed the door behind her. She softly said, âHey Hotch, how are the papers going?â Aaron looked up from his desk. He did a bit of a double take as his eyes flicked to his phone and then back to her. His eyes held a hint of surprise, warmth, and general confusion as he said, â_y/n_. What are you doing here? Do you need something?â _y/n_ couldnât help but flush already. Hotch was just too cute sometimes; especially when he wasnât trying.
_y/n_ smiled at him and took a seat across from him at his desk. _y/n_ sighed and said, âI was just bored I guess. I had nothing better to do, so why not give you a hand with your paperwork? Maybe I can get you out of here earlier than five p.m. on a Saturday?â Aaron raised a brow. He highly doubted that that was _y/n_âs only reason for being here, but he wouldnât question her. Instead, he picked up a case file, and set it in front of her saying, âSuit yourself, love.â _y/n_ flushed again and pulled one of Aaronâs ballpoint pens out of the cup he kept a stash in. _y/n_ wondered how many pens he dried up per year, but wasnât in the mood for calculus problems right now. Instead, she opened the file and started working on the first page. She had to take it for at least ten minutes before she made a move. _y/n_ assumed if she outright said, âHey wanna have sex in your office there would be two simultaneous outcomes. The first was that she would no longer be Aaron Hotchnerâs partner and that she would be a former FBI Behavioral Analyst. Neither of which sounded very appealing. So she took her time.Â
When Aaron seemed absorbed in his work again, she slipped off her shoe and moved her foot across the space between her side of the desk and his. It was a bit of a reach, but she managed to brush Aaronâs ankle and the inside of his trouser leg. That did it and Aaronâs eyes snapped to hers. They were dark, hiding emotions that he often kept at bay. He cleared his throat and said, â_y/n_, really?â You chuckled and said, âSorry. I just like to see you flustered.â _y/n_ pulled her leg back and Aaron watched as she flushed but returned to her papers. _y/n_ knew he liked it when she was a tease sometimes and that was her plan for this potentially risky act she was trying to have with Hotch. After another ten minutes, _y/n_ repeated the same action, except this time she moved her foot higher up his leg She applied gentle pressure to the inside of his leg. His grey trousers were cool under her foot as they moved up past the knee and onto his inner thigh. Her dark stockings were the only barrier between her skin and the fabric of his pants. _y/n_ looked up at him and he let out a soft breath as if his brain hadnât caught up with his body yet. When the two entities of mind of body did collide his brows furrowed trying to reconcile the pleasure coursing through his body and the fact that this shouldnât be happening in his office.
Before he could make any protestation, _y/n_ cut him off saying, âSo, âFreud said we should fuckâ did he?â This reminder of his slip of the tongue gagged Aaron momentarily. It gave _y/n_ enough time to shift lower in her chair and slip her foot high enough to press over his crotch. Aaron let out a little grunt at the contact. _y/n_ continued to run her foot over his zipper, up and down in a rhythmic pattern. _y/n_ smiled as his eyes grew hazy with desire. A look sheâd seen on him often, just not in his office. Never in his office. But she had dreamed about it plenty. Sheâd woken soaked on occasions with the notion of Aaron having her in his office, blinds drawn tight as they made love in the enclosed space. Aaron stuttered trying to make a coherent sentence, but his cock slowly hardening in his pants was not helping him at all. _y/n_ could feel it under her foot and continued to tease him saying, âYou know you really shouldnât make comments about our sex lives in front of a team of profilers. I think you owe me an apology?â _y/n_ pulled her foot away and Aaron groaned at the loss of contact, but suddenly his mind was more clear. Half of Aaronâs brain cursed _y/n_ for knowing just the right way to turn him on. The other half was already imagining her splayed out on his desk as he ate her out, or pounded into her so hard that the desk left marks on her hips. Those thoughts alone had his member twitch against his belt and fly. To consumed in his thoughts, Aaron slipped off his own left shoe, and perhaps more gently than _y/n_ had, he moved his foot up her leg and to her cunt. _y/n_ opened her legs for him slightly pushing her _kl/s/m_ length skirt up a bit. Even wearing socks, Aaron could tell that _y/n_ was wet. The moan she made as he just brushed over her sex and him realize that he couldnât wait. That he needed her, now. Hotch took away his foot and reveled in the needy noise _y/n_ also made at the lack of contact. Hotch moved quickly to his door, locking it from the inside before closing the shades to the office. His movements were hasty, jerky even. _y/n_ watched him, knowing the sexual tension must have built up since the last time they had been intimate.Â
_y/n_ wasnât sure what Aaron had in mind but she did have to ask, âThere arenât any hidden cameras in here, right?â Hotch chuckled, the sound was throaty, and he replied, âNot that I know of. And if they are, then at least weâll both be fired.â _y/n_ laughed at this and took his hand; she led him back to his office chair. _y/n_ appreciated that he had a sense of humor in these moments that were new to him. _y/n_ knew that she pushed him to do things he hadnât before both in and out of the bedroom, but he never complained and the bulge in his pants told her that he was already looking forward to what she was about to do for him. Aaron looked up at her a bit amazed at the things she could make him do. Never in his life had he thought he would be able to act out his fantasy. _y/n_ leaned down and kissed him softly at first and then with more hunger and ferocity. Aaron reciprocated in turn. As their lips looked in a passionate heated kiss, _y/n_ moved her hands to the belt that kept his trousers in place over his trim hips. It wasnât as hard as _y/n_ had imagined taking off his belt without looking. The cool metal of the clasp heated against your skin. You moved to his pantâs button and zipper next. _y/n_ didnât want to wait around anymore and once his grey briefs and thick arousal were freed, _y/n_ started palming his erection with a steady hand. Once her hand started stroking him, Aaron let out a gasp. He opened his mouth enough for her to slip her tongue into his mouth. He breathed in her throat and had her make a small contented noise as she explored the well-known concaves of his mouth. _y/n_ would never consider herself a sex expert, but when it came to new positions or scenarios with intimacy and Hotch, she often found it helpful if she took the lead. Warming him up to the idea. Making him feel comfortable and safe before they kept doing whatever it was they were trying. Oftentimes Aaron would jump on board and take the reigns, which she adored. She loved it when he told her what to do, how to lie. Everything. It was one of Aaronâs most attractive traits.
_y/n_ pulled her mouth away from his and wrapped her hand around his cock, more steadily pumping his length. Aaron said her name as he started moving his hips to meet her pace. His body responded to her touch. _y/n_ smiled at him and moved away for a moment, pushing his chair back enough for her to kneel under his desk. Aaron pushed his hips up and let _y/n_ pull his pants down, exposing his cock to the cold air. Hotch took a few steadying breaths. He knew what was to come, _y/n_ gave some of the best head that he had ever had and the anticipation of her lips on her member had him panting already. He said, âCan you not kneel all the way down like that, love? I want to touch you while youâre dining me?â _y/n_ smiled, relishing the fact that he was already taking a small amount of control of the situation. She nodded and said, âOf course Aaron, anything you ask.â With his request in mind, _y/n_ got up on her knees. It was helpful because she needed the reach to be able to lean over and take his tip in her mouth. She swirled her tongue over the top and slit, sucking at it like some rare candy. Hotch groaned as she moved her head down his length slightly. _y/n_Â took in his width and length with surprising ease. He was always surprised by her ability to take him. It only made her more attractive to him. As his head swam with pleasure and endorphins, he moved his own body forward and down a little. His head almost rested on her shoulder as he moved his long arm to feel between her legs and upper thighs. He slid his hand down and over between her skirt. As he started rubbing her clothed sex, _y/n_ moaned over his cock. She took a second before she kept moving her head further down him. Her mouth and tongue doing things to him that almost made him see stars. His left hand kept massaging her wet, clothed folds while his right pushed up her shift and kneaded her breasts in turn over her _y/f/c/a/s_ bra. Aaron could feel her nipples grow rigid under her bra and he moved his hand under the intimate article of clothing that covered her chest. He squeezed her right breast and squeezed her nipple. As _y/n_ started moving her head up and down his whole length, Aaron matched her pace with his hand on her clit, pushing and pulling sensations out of her. It turned out Hotch was so aroused, so excited that he kept moving his hand faster over her sex and clit, and _y/n_ kept up her own pace. Aaron panted and tipped his head back as he released some precome and she moved off him sucking it off of him. As she moved to take him in her mouth again, Aaron stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. _y/n_âs mind and body were also hazy with desire. Her entrance ached to be filled by Hotch more fully. His hand was amazing, but nothing beat him seating himself in her fully and then fucking her to the heavens.Â
Aaron could see this desire in her. A desire for him alone. Aaron pulled her onto shaky feet. He stood as well. He kissed her again, the beginning of stubble running over her chin and jaw. He pushed his pants and briefs fully off his legs and undid the side zipper of her skirt. He let it fall onto the beige carpet. He pulled back from her mouth and slipped his hands at the elastic of her stockings. He was too impatient to pull them down gingerly. Instead, he used just a bit of his strength to rip them down the center seam. _y/n_ let out an exhalation of breath. She knew it was going to get good now. Not that it hadnât been good before, but she knew that it could get even better than his thumb and middle finger rubbing against her sex and clit. Aaron looked at her panties and noticed how they matched her bra. He murmured, âYou had this all planned, didnât you, you little devil?â _y/n_ gave him a wink and said, âMaybe just a little. You mad about it?â Hotch let out a little throaty growl and slipped his fingers under the band of her underwear. When they were on the floor, he moved to the desk. He pushed his files to the side along with the batch that _y/n_ had been working so diligently on a few minutes ago. He might desperately want to bend her over his desk, but he wasnât so stupid to waste three good hours of work by having his files fly all over the place while he fucked _y/n_.
Once the forms were safely on the other side of the desk, Aaron grabbed her hips, turned her body 180 degrees, and then pressed her upper body flush to the hard dark wood of his desk. Hotch had unbuttoned her shirt and her skin felt cool against Hotchâs desk. She anticipated Aaronâs next move as he moved behind her slowly. Hotch pumped his throbbing length once or twice to ready himself. Another bead of precum moved to his tip and he wet his member with it. Even if he was ready and _y/n_ was ready, some of her wetness was even dripping down her thigh, Hotch was going to tease her still, as she had teased him. Aaron moved right next to her and slid his cock up and down her entrance, slightly pressing at the space that was begging for him. Aaron used his left hand to stroke over her weeping sex and _y/n_ moaned saying, âA-aron. Please. Please fuck me. Oh god.â Aaron looked at his length now coated in his and _y/n_âs excitement. It didnât take more than her words for him to press himself into her fully with a measured thrust. _y/n_ let her out a breath and Hotch could feel her body press into the side of the desk. Aaron pulled out and pressed in again. _y/n_ let out a whimper and there was a slight squelching sound and he began to move in and out of her more quickly. Aaron's thick cock filled her fully and Hotch watched as he pushed in and out of her building his speed. The veins of his length ribbed her insides and _y/n_ almost let her feet go from under her, the desk and Aaron holding up her weight as he kept pressing into her with a relentless pace. _y/n_ could feel him fill her fully, pressing his whole member deep inside her. Aaron knew just how to move his hips to hit her sweet spot and she was panting and babbling in under a minute. Aaron moved one hand to her mouth whispering, âShhh, now. We wouldnât want to get caught, now would we?â _y/n_ wanted to protest and say, âYou know no one is out there, Hotch,â but her head was so full of lust, desire, and longing to let go. Aaronâs movements had her desire building and she knew Aaron could feel it too. Hotch picked up the pace, rapidly thrusting into her. He moved his left hand to her clit and let go of her mouth so she could let out a litany of sounds. As he kept his fast pace and circled her clit, her body pushed roughly against his desk with every thrust, she whimpered, âI...Iâm gonna come, Aaron.â Hotch smiled and leaned down so his chest was flush with her back. His hand on her outer erogenous zone moved quickly and _y/n_âs walls fluttered and then contracted against his cock. _y/n_ cried out and let go of everything, letting the pure bliss of her orgasm overcome her. The sounds of her release had Aaron climax as well. He groaned as he pushed into her a few more times as he let his spent his ejaculation into her. Their shared sounds of pleasure filled the room and Aaron considered how this was better than he could have ever imagined. _y/n_ though spent, felt the same way.Â
Hotch took a moment to catch his breath and after a minute he let out a contented sigh. He pulled out of _y/n_ gently. As _y/n_ similarly let out a hum of happiness. She loved the way he was so gentle with her at the end of their intimate encounters. Aaron helped her stand and led her to the couch at the side of the room. Neither exactly felt like saying anything in the soft afterglow of their shared experience. Aaron had her sit on the couch and pulled moved back to his desk. He opened the left drawer and pulled out a pocket square that he rarely wore. He found the linen handkerchiefs too formal and stuffy. And as someone who came off as formal and stuffy already, he didnât need a fashion accessory to add to the impression. But now, the fabric would come in handy. Aaron walked back to the couch with the confidence of a man who had performed very well. _y/n_ would have laughed at his cockiness if he wasnât so damn good at sex. The first they had done it, she was so tight that it would have hurt if he hadnât helped prep her very well. Now he fit her perfectly and he knew it.
She smiled lazily at him as he knelt down and gently cleaned her up. He loved her, but if his or her release started staging his furniture, it might lead to awkward conversations later. When he was done cleaning her body, he wiped himself. He raised his head and said, âWas that everything you wanted darling? You did very well by the way. You felt so good for me. I hope I was the same for you?â _y/n_ beamed and said, âIt was everything I wanted and more. Thanks for indulging me. Aar. But I do think you should get out of this office. Being cramped up in here isnât good for you mentally, sexually, or physically. So what do you say we get out of here and get an early dinner and watch a Christmas movie at my place, huh?â Aaron chuckled and folded the soiled handkerchief to the clean side facing out. He put it in his pocket and smoothed down his now very crumpled shirt. He grabbed his pants and underwear along with _y/n_âs skirt and panties. He tossed them over to her and they both changed. As Aaron zipped up his pants, he said, âSounds like I good plan. These papers can wait till Monday morning.â Somehow _y/n_ always seemed to know what he needed, and he wasnât going to fight her on it now. Not after what theyâd just done. As _y/n_ put her clothes back on, he paced his briefcase and packed _y/n_âs ripped tights inside with his other work. He wouldnât just throw those away in the trash by the door. As he did this, _y/n_ moved behind him and gave him a hug saying softly, âYou know I really liked those tights, so I expect a replacement stat, mister.â Hotch chuckled and said, âYou got it, _y/n_, but you know I couldnât help myself. Not when you tease me like that.â There was a shared laughter as Aaron turned off his lamp, grabbed his and _y/n_âs bag, and opened the door for both of them. He locked the door to his office behind him and trailed _y/n_. He had suddenly grown an appetite and asked, âSo, what type of food are you feeling.â _y/n_ thought about it as they descended the stairs. She took his hand and said, âHow about _y/f/t/f_?â Aaron smiled and said, âSounds great!â _y/n_ rested her head against Aaornâs shoulder and contemplated how lucky she was for him, and for Freudian slips.

I donât have a plot or anything for this so maybe you could incorporate it into another fic but I am craving a fic where rafe is praising reader. And the whole âtalks you through itâ trend on tiktok has got needing a story with it. Like I said I have no idea for a plot for it so it could just be the smut, or put it in another fic, or if you can think of a plot then definitely do that. Whatever you decide, I am sure it will be amazing
heres a little blurb about it <3
words: 150
âtake a deep breath, princess, you gotta relax.â rafe says, petting your sides as you try to listen to him, try to take in air, but youâre just so overwhelmed.
âhey, shh.â rafe sees you just starting to get more agitated so he bends himself over your body, pressing your lips together.
âyou need me to pull out?â he asks, but you shake your head no, making a point to take a big breath and allow your body to relax, slowly untightening your strung muscles.
âthere you go.â rafe coos, pulling his cock out slightly before pushing back in, making sure to keep his movements slow. âsuch a pretty tight pussy.â
you whine at the praise, reaching your hand out to rafe, who lets you link your fingers with his. he presses a kiss to the side of your head, âi got you.â he whispers in your ear as he starts to move quicker. âi got you.â

living high until that fatal day
a/n: i never do this. literally, never. when i'm not here i'm writing stuff that's not x reader for ao3 and this is a fic i posted over there. it's a time loop story about joel and ellie. @bageldaddy told me i had to post it here. without her this fic would not exist. thank you so much, bea. so, here we go. if you read it, thank you. let me know what you think. joel miller & ellie williams gen fic. 7.5k words warnings: Time Loop, Fluff and Angst, Angst with a Happy Ending, kind of???, it resolves, Suicide, only in one of the loops!, Canon-Typical Violence, joel gets stuck and has to figure it out, Father-Daughter Relationship, thoughts about sacrifice and love, POV Joel, mostly, this one is kind of intense folks, major character death tag is cause well the loop ends one way or another, gonna diverge at the end, but it ends well!!! i promise, also this is pretty firmly game but hbo folks should be okay!
summary: joel finds himself stuck in a time loop of that day in salt lake city.
Joel lies to her.Â
He's got dried blood under his fingernails and his shoulder aches from the kick of the rifle and he's so, so tired.Â
But he lies to her.Â
If he was a smarter man he'd have thought of something better. Told her that the hospital got raided or they had a FEDRA mole, how the whole thing was a sham from the start. He doesn't know if she was awake for any of it. If the last thing she remembers is him reaching for her and failing to save her. If she remembers what it feels like to drown.Â
It's hard to look at her in the mirror but he manages. Just keep driving, hands tight on the wheel. Don't white knuckle, don't spook her. She's in the car. She's safe. He did it.Â
"We found the Fireflies," he says. She doesn't look at him. "Turns out there's a...a whole lot more like you, Ellie. People that're immune. It's dozens, actually."Â
There's a strange pull in his gut, a pull that he's felt a few times before in the moments before everything went south. When the soldier pointed his gun by the river, when Tess looked at him on her last day, when he fell off the ledge in Colorado. But he ignores it.Â
"Ain't done a damn bit of good, either. They've actually st--" Ellie closes her eyes, takes a deep breath. She doesn't look at him. "They've stopped looking for a cure. I'm takin' us home. I'm sorry."
She turns her back to him and the pull becomes a burn, becomes a black hole under his ribcage taking everything with him. He blinks once, twice, wonders if he got shot and didn't notice, if he cracked a rib and it punctured his lung, if --
The road in front of him disappears.Â
He can't see a damn thing -- not like the lights went out, like there is nothing to see. There is nothing in front of him at all.
Then, Joel wakes up yesterday.Â
___Â
He jolts awake with a strangled yell. Ellie kneels over him, the rifle he taught her to hold slung over her shoulder. It's just past dawn based on the color of the sky and how he can make out most of her face, her withdrawing hand and her unimpressed but slightly concerned frown.Â
"You were talking again," Ellie says. "Nightmares?"Â
Joel tears his eyes from her and thunks his head back down on his crumpled up jacket. The trees stretch high above him and he tries to get it together so he doesn't spook her.Â
Theyâre camped within sight of the highway. Salt Lake City has been looming for days now and Joel doesn't want to take any chances. The ring-road is almost clear, dotted here and there with cars and a fair amount of supplies, enough that Joel suspects people haven't been here for some time. If this is another Colorado State situation, he's going to have to put Ellie in a car and take them back to Jackson before she does something stupid.
She's fine. Well, no, not quite. Things aren't the same and they never will be but he can tell she's doing her best and he won't ask more than that. Their pace has slowed this week and he's having a hard time figuring out if she's sliding back into some sort of post-Colorado haze or if she's nervous about actually arriving in Salt Lake.Â
God knows he's nervous as hell.
But every day she'll walk as far as he tells her to and won't complain. He knows she wants to get there. They have to get there and it has to work -- because he doesn't know what they're going to do otherwise.Â
She asked him a question. Nightmares. Joel sits up and drags his hand down his face.
"Somethin' like that."
Ellie shrugs and starts to clean up their camp now that he's awake. He still hates letting her take watch, but she needs to feel in control of things, so they split it most nights. She hums a little bit as she works and he has hopes that today might be a good day.
But that dream... It comes back in flashes: the giraffes, the tunnel. Ellie hanging from the side of the bus because she jumped to save him, her small frame sinking slowly, just out of reach. The crack of her ribs underneath his hands. The hospital. The Fireflies.
Joel gets up, rolls his shoulder at a phantom pain and looks down at his hands. Crusted with dirt and nothing more.Â
Jesus Christ. He's losing it.Â
They set off.Â
The blue hospital sign seems to shine in the spring sun all too soon.
"This is where we get off. Let's go, kiddo."
Joel talks even though he knows she's not listening. He talks to take his mind off of the echo that sits at the base of his neck with every step. Has he told her he'll teach her guitar before? He's been thinking it for months.Â
Ellie trails behind him, kicking rocks and half-heartedly searching cars when he asks her to. She heads for a faded blue sedan but he stops her.Â
"Blue one won't open, don't bother."Â
The look she gives him makes him think about what he just said. "How do you know that?"
He blinks. How does he know that? Before he can explain it, Ellie shrugs and keeps walking.Â
The disinterest is new and it doesn't sit well with him. She's been through a lot, more than any kid deserves, and they're almost there. He figures it's worse today because of that.Â
"I dreamt about flying the other night."
Joel's stomach twists. "Oh, yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Go on, tell me about it."
She tells him about her dream, about how it felt to fly and then fall, and he is dizzy with deja vu.Â
"I've never been on a plane." Ellie looks at him like he can tell her what it means. Like he has any damn answers at all. "Isn't that weird?"
Joel hums and swallows the lump in his throat. The bus terminal. Ellie, drowning. Firefly after Firefly in his path. His hands flex around a gun that isn't there.Â
"Well, you know. Dreams are weird." It tastes like a lie in his mouth but he can't figure out why.Â
It gets worse when they find the bus station, when she runs off in search of something that's got her smiling. Her small hand reaches for the giraffe, her eyes bright, but Joel feels like he's watching it through a fog. He knows what she's going to say before she says it.Â
"So fucking cool."
Joel has seen a lot of weird shit in his life but whatever is happening here is leagues above the rest. It bumps up against something in his brain, like the answer is just out of reach but he can't fucking get there. Always a step behind when it counts.Â
Ellie hands him a picture of his dead daughter and something in him comes dangerously close to snapping. Instead of gratitude or sorrow or anything that would make sense, he's terrified.Â
He's fucking terrified because this happened. Which means he knows what comes next.Â
But there's no time to worry about it. They pick their way through the tunnel, through the runners and the clickers and the fucking bloaters. The pressure on his neck gets heavier, gets almost unbearable. He's strung tighter than he's been in years, like the walls are closing in on him and there's a timer he can't see.Â
When they get to the rapids, he waits for Ellie to get to the other side of the bus until he jumps on it but it dislodges. The dam in his head breaks and he yells, screams at her to run, to leave him, but she jumps on the bus anyway.Â
She drowns.
Joel doesn't doubt that the Fireflies are coming -- he hears them -- but he doesn't take his eyes off of her, doesn't stop the chest compressions until he's knocked out.
The rest of it is a blur, his sense of reality already warped by his need to get to the operating room. To save her.Â
Joel picks them off one by one, floor by floor, hardly taking note of how familiar it all feels. He doesn't even give the surgeon a chance to speak before he's dead, a bullet between the eyes. He knows they'll make it to the elevator. He kills Marlene. He drives them away.
He lies.Â
He wakes up yesterday again.
___
It takes a few days before Joel purposely deviates from what he's thinking of as the script. His head feels like it weighs a thousand pounds when he wakes in the clearing, Ellie's eyes on him.
He thinks about it as they pack up camp. Can he get them out of here? Would that be allowed? The rules of this aren't clear to him but he figures it can't hurt to try. They could turn around right now and make it back to Jackson in a week or so.Â
He watches Ellie carefully arrange her things in her bag, watches her stop to admire a butterfly in the branches above. He watches her and tries to see her alive and not pale on an operating table.Â
"Ellie," he says. "I got a bad feelin' about this."
She loves to tell him he's overreacting but today she crosses her arms and sits back on her heels. "What do you mean?"
Her scream as she falls into the water. Her ribs cracking beneath his hands. The piercing alarm in the hospital, her body warm but limp in his arms.
"What if we waited?" She frowns but he keeps going. "Went back to Jackson, rested up. Took a break. Come back in a few months with a bit of a crew. Tommy'll give us some guys, hell, I bet he'll come with if you want --"
"No," Ellie says sharply. There's an edge to her voice he hasn't heard in a long time. "Joel, shut up."
"Ellie --"
She stands abruptly, takes a few steps back. "I said no." The look on her face tells Joel he's already lost. "Are you -- are you fucking kidding me? You want to go back? Now?"
He sighs. "Just to rest up. We don't know what we're walking into --"
Ellie throws her hands around in disbelief. Her eyes look wet. Christ, he's made her cry again. He promised himself he wouldn't do that.Â
"We don't know if they'll still be there."
"We don't know if they are there."
"And we won't find out if we fucking run away like cowards!"
Joel stands. "I don't want another Colorado State situation, Ellie --" Her face shutters. Mistake.Â
"Don't bring up Colorado," she growls. "You don't know what that was like."Â
Damn right he doesn't. He knows by now what happened but he'll never know how hard it was for her to survive when he was busy dying on that mattress. But he has to try something or they'll just end up here again tomorrow. Yesterday. Whatever.Â
The idea of her suffering makes his hackles rise, makes his blood run cold
.Â
"Can I finish a god damned sentence?" he snaps. Ellie is undeterred and snaps back.
"Not if it's going to be about leaving. We-- I -- we're not fucking leaving. Not after everything. We can't."
Joel sighs and drags a hand down his face. This girl. He's trying to save her and she can't see it. There's no way to make her see it and it's his fault. She should know by now that he'd do anything, anything, for her. He lost that battle a long time ago, probably longer ago than he'd like to admit.Â
"I know," he tells her. "Just...if you want to give it all up, to go back, we can. We don't have to go through with this."
Ellie's eyes are blazing and her tone is disappointed. It cuts deep. "Yes we do. I thought you'd understand that, Joel."
He follows her this time as she stalks down the highway towards the hospital. No mention of six strings, no dreams about planes. They catch the giraffes but she doesn't stick around to watch them for as long. It's a different kind of loss to be without her smile, her laughter. Joel wishes he'd never opened his god damned mouth.Â
"I'm sorry," he says. "For earlier." Ellie pauses on the stairs and half turns to look up at him. "I know it's important to you."
She sighs. "I know you mean well." Joel closes his eyes. He knows what comes next. "But there's no halfway with this. Once we're done, we'll go wherever you want, okay?"
He plays his part for the rest of the day, just to get it over with.Â
___
Next time, Joel waits until they're watching the giraffes to try something different.Â
"So," he says. "This everything you were hoping for?"
Ellie gives him her half-smile. "It's got its ups and downs, but...you can't deny that view, though."
He seizes his chance. "Wanna go down there?"Â
She perks up. "Really? Do you think they'll let us get close?"
"They might. Let's try."Â
They manage to backtrack a little bit and end up on the field. It smells like a zoo but Ellie is thrilled to be so close so they post up on the roof of a rusty FEDRA Jeep. Two of the giraffes end up eating out of the tree right above them. Ellie holds her breath.Â
"They just...don't care, do they?" she whispers. "How long do you think they've been here?"
She leans into his side and cranes her neck to watch one of them use its tongue.Â
"Don't know," he says. "Big ones could've been from before. But the tiny one s'probably younger than you."
"So cool," she says again. "They're from a zoo, right? I wonder if anything else lives in the city."
They've been sitting here long enough that the sun has started to set. Joel allows himself to hope.Â
"Might be. What do you say we spend the night here and look on the way to the hospital tomorrow? Daylight'll do us better."
Ellie chews on his suggestion. "I guess," she says. "Are we safe here?"
"Should be." Joel has no idea, frankly. He sure as hell wants them to wake up here in the morning. He wants to make good on this idea, wants to show her something else that'll make her smile. He wants this to be a bizarre, unexplainable day that he'll forget about with time.
"I'll keep watch."
They set up camp crowded against the fence so Joel can see the whole field. The giraffes leave them alone and Ellie falls asleep quickly after they eat.
In the quiet open air the dread in his gut returns full-force and he knows he's wrong. Again.
A branch cracks and he whirls around, rifle in hand to find three men pointing their guns at him through the wire. They might be wearing Firefly jackets but he can't tell. He doesn't care. Joel dares to look at Ellie for a second and sees she's still asleep.Â
It's a mistake.
One of them follows his gaze and his eyes widen.
"Holy shit," he whispers. "She looks like who Marlene said --"
"Shut up," the second one hisses. "On the ground, old man."
"How are you gonna get around that fence, hotshot?" he says. "Ellie. Ellie, wake up."
She blinks a few times and sees his stance. scrambling to her feet with her knife in hand.
"Holy shit. What the fuck?"
"Get behind me."
One of the soldiers points his gun at her.Â
"Don't move."
It's chaos after that. The guys shout at each other.Â
"Don't point it at her! Don't you remember the fucking briefing?"
"You hadn't even joined when we got here, you don't know. We've been looking for her for months --"
"If you shoot her we're all dead --"
Joel locks eyes with Ellie.
"When I say run, you run. Okay?"Â
The fear in her eyes turns to determination. Brave girl, he thinks. I'm sorry. He waits for the idiot pointing at her to look away and takes a deep breath. What's one more day?
"Run!"
Joel doesn't check to see if she obeys before firing through the fence. The rifle is incredibly powerful at such a short range and where there was once a head there's only mist. Joel clears the chamber as fast as he can and gets the second one in the shoulder but he's not fast enough for a third and before he realizes it he's on his back in the grass.Â
The Firefly's assault rifle litters Joel's chest with bullets but he doesn't feel it until he tries to take a breath and nothing comes. It's like he's underwater.
At least he didn't make her cry this time.

Joel isn't much of a believer in anything but he decides fairly quickly that he's in Hell or something close. God knows he deserves it.Â
His sins are countless, his ledger dripping with red just like his hands. They will never be clean. What he can't figure out is how he got here. Did he die somewhere in St. Mary's? Is the real world somewhere else beyond his reach, now? If he died then what happened to Ellie?
He tries to make tallies in the bark of a tree on the edge of camp but they disappear every time he wakes up. He makes do with his own slowly unspooling brain. Two, five, ten.
Ellie is much the same every time but somewhere around day twenty she asks him about it. "How do you know where everything is?"
They're in the bus depot before the tunnel. He's taking them quickly around the tents, putting off Ellie handing him a photo of his dead daughter. It's muscle memory at this point. A pair of pliers here, some rags there. A half-empty but uncracked bottle of hooch behind that blood-stained bed, some bullets under that overturned partition.Â
"Just payin' attention."
"I pay attention!"
Joel uses the excuse to grin at her. It's hard sometimes to remember that she has no idea what's coming, that he can and should be good to her every chance he gets. The violence has already started to blur together in his mind. Killing everyone in the hospital is by far the easiest part of this fucking loop. These parts are harder.Â
"Didn't say you don't."
"I feel like that was a double negative."
She's still energized from the giraffes and he knows she's working up the courage to talk about Sarah, but right now he wants to spend time with her. He spots the Firefly medal tangled in the shattered floodlight and points it out.Â
"Ellie," he says. She's at his side in seconds, looking up at him with eyes brighter than he's seen in weeks. "Wanna get that down?"
She gives him her classic why are you like this look. "Are you going to be weird and pick it up?"
Joel shrugs and leans on the rotting tank nearby. "Just want to check your aim."
"My aim is really fucking good and you know it!" Even so, she picks up a brick from her feet and palms it, eyeing the silver circle before winding her arm back and hurling the brick towards it.Â
She misses. Maybe three hundred miles and a trail of dead bodies ago she'd have stormed off, embarrassed and pissed. But she just makes a face at the still-swinging medal and then looks at him. "How did I miss that?"
He pushes off the tank and scoops up a glass bottle. "Sun s'probably in your eyes." Joel stands next to her and eyes the target, trying to compensate in his mind for her height. "Stand here." Ellie moves over in front of him and he hovers his arm over her. "Can I?"
She nods. Joel presses the bottle into her hand and she takes it as he maneuvers her with a hand on her elbow until she's got the trajectory he thinks will work.Â
"Now?" she asks. "Feels pretty fucking similar to what I was doing."
"Just trust me. Throw a little lighter than last time. And higher."
Ellie sighs, but once he steps back she does as he says and nails the medal hard enough that it drops to the ground. She whoops and turns around, hands high in the air and a wide smile on her face. Joel tries to breathe through how easily she puts her faith in him.Â
"Fuck yeah! Did you see that?" She holds both hands out for a high five and he obliges.Â
"Sure did. Nice job, kiddo."
When Ellie hands him the picture of Sarah, he pulls her in for a hug. He half expects her to shove him off but instead she allows it, twisting her hands in his shirt as he cups the back of her head.Â
"Thank you," Joel says quietly, thickly.Â
Later, when he finds her on the operating table, he presses his lips to her forehead for an extra moment before picking her up and heading for the elevator.Â
__
He messes with the order of things a little bit. Tries to make their morning last longer, tries to stay watching the giraffes for an hour or so.Â
Sometimes it works.Â
Sometimes it doesn't.Â
Watching Ellie drown over and over fucks with his head more than the hospital does because he can't stop it. At least while he's leaving behind corpse after corpse he knows that she's asleep upstairs, waiting for him. In the tunnel, he knows that the only way out is through, but she has to fucking drown first.Â
He gets sloppy.Â
He forgets about the runners in the side rooms when he ducks in to avoid a clicker and takes a step too close. Ellie is behind him as always and he shoves her back blindly as three runners slam him against the metal railing of the stairs before he can reach for his gun. He's too surprised to feel anything, but their breath smells like rotting meat and something worse, something that makes his eyes water.Â
Joel searches the room for her and finds her -- pale-faced and terrified, already reaching for her knife. He tries to say her name but it comes out as a scream when one of the runners goes for his shoulder, jagged teeth ripping through his shirt in an instant.Â
"Ellie -- run, Ellie -- GO --" He begs her to leave him but his voice stops working as his throat is ripped out. The last thing he sees is her horrified face as she raises her pistol.
And then he wakes up yesterday.Â
___
It occurs to him on day 30 -- if he's keeping track accurately -- that he's got one of the smartest people he knows at his disposal. Kid's got an encyclopedic knowledge of space as well as science fiction stories. He asks her while they're still on the highway, stalling though he can see the blue H sign from here.
"Y'ever read stuff about time?" No reply. "Ellie?" She's staring at that deer again. "Ellie."
"What?"Â
"You read any stories about time back in school?"
"Uh, sure," she says. She tugs her sleeves over her hands and catches up to him, eyes on the ground. "Why?"
"Saw a weird movie 'bout it once. Somethin' reminded me of it this mornin'. Guy gets stuck in a...shit, what did they call it?" Joel peeks inside an RV and smells rot so he leaves it be. "He lives the same day over and over."
"A time loop!" Ellie sounds more excited about this than anything they've talked about for days. "Those are so fucking cool. Scary, though. I feel like I'd go crazy."
Joel drags a hand down his face. "Yeah," he says. "How do you think you get outta one?"
"Well, how did the guy in the movie do it?"
"He stopped bein' an asshole," he says. Ellie laughs.Â
"Well, we know that's not possible for you. Guess you're fucked."
"Guess so," he mutters.Â
The H sign is close enough that she'll see it any minute. He wishes for the hundredth time that they could just stay out here all day, just talking. If he had a guitar he'd play for her. If he had a fucking car he'd put her in it and turn around, even though it wouldn't do any good. They'd just end up right back here because he can't fucking figure out how to get out of this.Â
"I think you just have to change, right?" Ellie says. She's looking at the photo of an airplane on the bus. This time she doesn't tell him about her dream. Is he losing pieces of her, already? "I guess it doesn't have to be about yourself. Maybe something you do, or something you say. It's the universe telling you to make a different choice, right?"
That's the fucking thing. The choice isn't an option. It's not even a choice.Â
The one thing he hasn't tried and will not try is leaving the hospital when Marlene tells him to. He'd rather die a thousand times, rather live this shit show over and over for the rest of eternity than let them cut her brain out. They will not touch her while there is still breath in his body.Â
He'd do it all over again. He will.
__
Joel tries a hundred things and they don't work.Â
After his conversation with Ellie he decides to really fuck with the day. Doesn't matter, right? So long as she's not put in any extra danger he considers it. He begs her to walk away, get on his knees and pleads with her throughout the day. Doesn't work. She just gets pissed at him like that first time and he doesn't push it because he can't bear to see her cry. He lengthens their morning in the clearing, fakes sick or says the rifle is jammed and needs cleaning. That goes south, too, when a pack of runners wanders through the woods and straight into them. They make it to the highway and have to miss the giraffes because they're running.Â
One time Joel spends all day zig-zagging them around the city to avoid the tunnel. The Fireflies find them much the same way except they shoot him on sight and grab Ellie right out of his arms as he bleeds out on the cracked asphalt, her screams echoing in his ears.Â
Another time, he ties them together in the tunnel with some fraying rope and they both drown.Â
Killing Marlene early gets him a bullet in the head and not killing her at all gets him back where he started, no change.Â
Joel even begs the doctor to run more tests first, to try blood, to try anything, but it takes too long and the alarm sounds and he's cornered in the operating room before he can grab Ellie and go.Â
Nothing fucking works.Â
But what is there left to change?
__
His mind starts to fray. He loses count of the loops and it becomes hard to detach himself from the slaughter. Not even the good moments -- Ellie's laughter, the awe in her face when she sees the giraffes, her jokes and her muted but still sharp sarcasm -- keep him afloat. He's lost, adrift in a sea of blood and bullets and it starts to eat away any humanity that was left in him.Â
The blood of hundreds, thousands maybe, is on his hands and he feels nothing.
Once and only once does he get there too late. Everything else goes like it always does but maybe he took too long on the first floor, maybe he took too long picking the guys one by one instead of using the assault rifle, maybe maybe maybe.Â
When Joel gets to the pediatric ward he knows something is different -- he can hear a buzzing sound, something loud and unnatural. The stale air is thick with something metallic, tinged with death. The buzzing stops and he finds his feet glued to the floor outside the operating room. Voices on the other side of it, murmuring and the clink of metal on a tray. Joel's hand shakes when he reaches for the knob because he knows whatever he finds on the other side is going to kill him.Â
But he opens it because he has to. The doctor is at the sink this time, the nurses nowhere to be found. Ellie's body is covered in a sheet, blood seeping through the fabric. Joel looks away. He just stands there, his heartbeat loud in his ears as the world ends.Â
The first time his daughter died, Joel thought he could will it not to be so. He held her as long as he could, whispered her name with her blood drying on his hands until Tommy begged him to get moving.Â
This time, he knows it's true and he knows there's only one ending.Â
He raises his gun at the doctor who is now leaning on the edge of the sink. The door swings open and the nurses return, eyes wide and vibrating with the energy of a job well done. He swings over to them and kills them both with quick headshots. The doctor has barely turned around when he's dead, too.
Joel breathes, ears ringing. He manages one step closer to the operating table but his knees buckle and he goes down hard on the cool tile. His vision is blurry. Is he crying?
"I'm sorry," he says. "I'm so fucking sorry, baby." He angles himself so he won't get any blood on her and then presses the barrel of his gun to his temple and pulls the trigger.Â
__
If Joel was on the edge of losing his mind before, now he's laser focused. He doesn't pull any more shit. He settles back into the loop, savoring Ellie's laughter with the giraffe and gunning down every sorry motherfucker in his way at the hospital. He will not get there late ever again.Â
So when Marlene says something different the next time around and he almost misses it.
Ellie is dead weight in his arms but she's warm and he can see the rise and fall of her chest. The hospital was messier than usual because he rushed this time, cutting down the Fireflies like it was his last stand. There's blood in his hair and crusted under his fingernails and his shirt is beyond ruined.Â
"Are you going to tell her what happened here?" Marlene presses her hand into her side, blood leaking from around her crimson palm. "Are you going to tell her what you did?"
He lies to her.
Every time.
It's never occurred to him to try something else. Even though he's changed almost everything about this damn day except that.Â
Because Joel knows what happens if he tells the truth. He knows what that will cost him.
And he doesn't know if he'll survive it.
He's afraid. Joel doesn't want to lose her and if that makes him selfish then so be it. He wants to take her back to Jackson and give her a bedroom of her own and as many stupid comics as she wants and three meals a day for the rest of her long, peaceful life. He wants her to grow up and grow old.Â
He'd kill a thousand more Fireflies to make it happen.
He'd damn the whole world.Â
Because he loves her and it fucking hurts.Â
This girl and her puns and her comics and her god damned bravery and her bleeding heart. He doesn't want to lose her.Â
But is this, whatever this endless hell is, is it fair to her?Â
If it's breakable, if he has the ability to get them to tomorrow, to get them to Jackson, to get them home, shouldn't he? If he loves her shouldn't he give her a life even if he's not in it?
Joel gently arranges Ellie in the backseat and shoots Marlene in the head.Â
__
For a few seconds Ellie thinks she's in the car on the way into Pittsburgh. The hum of the old engine, the rocking motion of the truck. But -- wait. She's lying down. The car smells...musty. And she's cold like she's wearing a dress and --
"What the hell am I wearing?"
She flutters her eyes open. Different truck. Backseat. Is she in a...hospital gown? What the fuck? Where is she?
"Just take it easy," Joel says. Okay, so she's with Joel. Something in her chest settles. She must be safe. "Drugs are still wearin' off."
Drugs? Ellie pushes back into her memory and tries to find something, anything that'll give her a clue as to what's going on here. They were in the bus tunnel. The water was rushing, Joel jumped on the bus and it started moving and she...fell into the water?Â
It's a blur after that. More of a blank, really. Did they get to the hospital? Did they find the Fireflies? Based on her weird fucking outfit it sure seems like it.
"What happened?"
Joel's eyes flick up in the rearview mirror to look at her. "Let's get you into some clothes, first. Then we'll take a break and I'll tell you everythin'."
He sounds tired. More tired than he's ever sounded, frankly, but she can't imagine why. And he can't seem to stop looking at her like she's going to disappear. Like he hasn't seen her in ages.Â
"Okay," she says slowly. "Where the hell are we going to get those?"Â
"Your bag is on the floor by your feet." Joel veers off the highway down an exit ramp and Ellie sits up. Her head feels light for a second and then really heavy so she braces her hands on the seat in front of her and takes a few deep breaths. "You okay, kiddo?"
"Yeah. Fucking...drugs, I guess. What'd they do that for?"
"They ran some tests. We'll talk about it."
Normally she'd push him but something feels off. Ellie tries to get a good look at his face but she can't, not from this angle, and not with her head fucking pounding like it is. She's missing so much time. It makes her skin crawl, makes her heart race. Joel is here, she tells herself. He wouldn't let anything bad happen to her.Â
He parks them at the edge of a cemetery and gets out of the car to stand guard while she changes out of the gown. Her last pair of jeans, apparently, and a grey t-shirt with a few holes in the collar. She wishes she had a sweatshirt or something to wrap around herself, to pull over her hands and feel covered. But beggars can't be choosers. At least someone put her shoes in her backpack.Â
Joel doesn't turn around when she opens the door but she sees him stiffen.Â
"I'm done." He looks back at her and she finally sees his face. "Jesus Christ, Joel, what happened to you?"
It's not just the blood. Sure, he's got dried streaks of it on his neck and in his hair. Ellie glances at his hands and sees it crusted under his fingernails, too. But he looks wrecked. Older, somehow. He looks like something terrible happened, the way she remembers his face when he fell from the balcony in Colorado, when he found her in the burning restaurant. But somehow it's worse.Â
He's looking at her like he can't believe she's real.Â
"Alright." Joel lowers the rifle and ignores her question, clearly. "Didn't see anythin'. Should be fine to sit here for a bit."
"Are you going to tell me what the fuck happened?"
He moves like he's going to drag a hand down his face but thinks better of it. "Yeah," he says. "I am."Â
Ellie swings her legs so they're hanging out the door. Joel leans the rifle against the truck and crosses his arms. "You're making me kind of nervous, man."
"Just...promise me you'll hear me out to the end."
Yeah, something is going on. She doesn't like it.Â
"Uh, sure."
"What do you remember?"Â
Good fucking question. "The tunnel. The bus and -- water. I fell in, right?"
Joel nods, clears his throat. "Jumpin' on the bus was dumb. Don't do that again."Â
She snorts. "Yeah, okay. Point taken. But I was afraid you were going to drown!"
"You did." He delivers the news in a flat tone she doesn't like. She drowned?
"Are you serious?"
"I got us out of the water and tried to get you breathin' again." Ellie realizes her chest is sore. She imagines Joel doing compressions like they showered her in school, imagines his panicked face, his hoarse voice calling her name. Fuck.
"Did it work?"
"No," he says. "Fireflies found us first and knocked me out."Â
"That doesn't make sense." She frowns. "They knocked you out?"
Joel shrugs. "Just tellin' you what happened."
This isn't how she imagined it would go. She never told Joel, but for weeks she's been thinking about waltzing up to the hospital and telling them who she is. She pictured Joel telling her jokes while she got her blood drawn, pictured him staring down nurses and doctors while they made the cure. She figured it would take a few days, maybe a week, and then they'd be on their way back to Jackson. She had hoped Marlene might be there, too. She has so many questions about her mom.Â
"What did they do with me?"
Joel looks troubled. "I...don't exactly know. It was a while before I saw you again."
It makes her skin crawl. He must be able to tell because he keeps talking. "I'm sure they just ran some tests while you were out. They brought you back, made sure you were breathin' okay."
"Tests?"
"I'm gettin' there." She feels like he's having a hard time looking at her. Something close to but not quiet dread sits heavy in her stomach. What happened?
"Joel..."
"I woke up inside the hospital. Marlene was there. Told me they didn't know it was us, that they'd been waiting." He pauses, drags a hand down his face. "You didn't wake up or nothin'? You sure?"
Ellie shakes her head. She doesn't remember anything after the tunnel.Â
"Well, she told me they could do it. They had a doctor who could make the cure."
The air rushes out of Ellie all at once. "Are you fucking serious?"
"And then she said..." Joel chews on his words and looks away from her. He looks angry.Â
"What did she say?"
"Makin' a vaccine...would've killed you."
The bottom drops out of Ellie's world. It's like a hundred doors in her brain open at once.Â
It would have killed her? Are they sure? Did they do enough tests? Were they going to? Why didn't they wake her up? Were they going to ask her? How did they get out?
She swallows them all and manages just one in a broken whisper. "What did you do?"
Joel looks right at her. "I stopped them."
If Ellie wasnât already sitting down she thinks her legs would give out. She knows that Joel meant what he said to her in Silver Lake. Knows that he'd do anything for her.
But this?
"What do you mean?" He shakes his head. "Joel. What do you mean, you stopped them?"
His shoulders slump. "They told me to leave and I refused. And I made sure no one can follow us to try again."
Static builds in her ears. She can read between the lines. She speaks Joel now. He killed them all, that much is clear to her. He killed them all, Marlene, too, probably, because she was supposed to die to save the world. Hot tears sting her nose and gather at the corner of her eyes.Â
"But I -- but we -- I was supposed to...I'm the cure!"
"You're a person. You're a kid. Don't matter what's in your brain, you ain't dyin' for --"
Ellie pushes out of the truck and to her feet. Joel steps back to give her room but she knows he probably wants to touch her, to reassure her. The anger fills her, makes her face hot and her heart race.Â
"Who said you get to make that choice? If they said I had to die maybe I should have? Then it would mean something --"
"Your immunity ain't the thing that matters most. You are. So I picked you," Joel yells.
She's really crying now, huge heaving sobs that make it hard to talk, make it hard to convey how angry she is. "Well, you picked wrong, asshole."
"I ain't gonna apologize for it. I'd do it all over again, the exact same way. Every time." Joel's expression is as serious as it gets. He used to look this way all the time. No nonsense, no room for argument.Â
She tries to find the words anyway but they don't come.
"Now, you've got some options here," he says. "I think the best one is for us to go back to Jackson. I know Tommy'll take you in, and --
She laughs, or tries to.Â
It sounds like something bitter and awful to her own ears. First he tells her she was supposed to die today and now he wants to leave her?
"Are you fucking serious, Joel? You want to leave me again?"Â
Joel's brows pinch together. He looks pained. Good. It feels like her chest is caving in, like her lungs aren't working right anymore. This must be what it felt like to drown in the bus terminal, to sink slowly, to fade away entirely. She read once that drowning was supposed to be peaceful. This hurts.Â
"I want you to be safe," he says. "Jackson is the best place for that. I don't have to be there if you don't want me there --"
"I didn't fucking say that!" she yells. "I -- Jesus, give me a fucking second, okay?"
He stands by the door as she paces back and forth, tugging her hands through her hair.Â
She was supposed to die. But she didn't. There's no cure. And it sure fucking sounds like Joel didn't leave any option to try again.Â
He traded saving the world for her.Â
It's too much.
"What do you want, Ellie?" Joel sounds like he's been awake for days. Like he's in pain, like he's being hollowed out. He sounds like how she feels.Â
She digs the heels of her hands into her eyes.Â
"I want none of this to have happened! I want us to go back to this morning and I want us to not have gone into the bus tunnel and I want you to have asked for tests first, I want them to try something else. I want Marlene to tell me why they didn't wake me up. I want to do it again but differently, I want things to be different, I --"
Her words break off into a sob. "Ellie..." She opens her eyes and finds him reaching for her. His shirt is stained with dried blood but she steps into his hold and his arm wraps around her.Â
"I don't know what to do, now," she whispers.
Joel exhales a shaky breath. "I know you wish things were different. I wish things were different. But they ain't."
They stand there, his hand dragging up and down her back. She listens to his heartbeat and remembers those nights in the basement when she thought it would stop any minute.Â
"Fuck," she whispers, then pulls away. He lets her go. "Fuck, Joel."
He sighs. "Yeah, kiddo. Fuck."
He told her the truth and that means something. It hurts, it hurts so bad, and it doesn't absolve him of anything, but that matters.Â
"I'm so angry with you," she says. "I don't know how to forgive you for...for...saving me."Â
It sounds stupid as she says it but Joel nods solemnly.Â
"That's alright."Â
"But I..." She wants to get this part right. "Let's go back. To Jackson. We'll figure it out there. But you...you have to swear to tell me the truth. Just like this. We have to be honest with each other."
Joel meets her gaze without blinking. "I swear."
Ellie takes a deep breath. The anger, the horror, the disbelief at what he's done settle a little bit. She has no clue what comes next, but this is a start.Â
"Okay."
__
Joel wakes up.Â
His back hurts and his shoulder aches. It's dark, darker than it should be, darker than it's been for hundreds of days.
Ellie is asleep in the backseat of the truck.Â
It's tomorrow.Â
thank you for reading. let me know what you thought!

sometimes i wonder about what fandom is going to look like in 5 or 10 years. i think we might have already started to see a shift.
because, look, most of the oldest, biggest fandoms are from tv shows and movies, in particular ones that go on for years and scores of episodes. star trek, star wars, stargate (is everything star?), doctor who, supernaturalâŚeven sherlock really got its biggest popularity boosts in the modern day from tv adaptations. marvel and dc were comics first, too, but movies made them more accessible; their âcinematic universeâ tags are the biggest on ao3 by far.
but what tv shows are we getting now? short, 8-episode things that get canceled two or three seasons in, that are usually less-than-faithful adaptations of other media anyway.
what movies are we getting? well, marvel turns more to slop every day, and everything else is remakes and sequels no one asked for. the general populace will still go see them and find some good movies that they like, but thereâs not much really for fandom to grasp onto.
the best shows for fandom that weâve had recently, that i can think of, are stranger things, game of thrones, and maybe our flag means death. stranger things is dying off, especially since theyâre looking at a 3-4 YEAR gap between s4 and s5. game of thronesâs popularity plummeted after its final season, we all know that. our flag means death is still chugging fairly okay, but after that second season a lot of the fandom dropped it, and with it now being cancelled, i donât see it sticking around.
yes, we can chalk part of this up to a new generation to of fans having this growing idea that fandom is super temporary, to be abandoned as soon as its not on trend. but media used to be on trend for a whole lot longer than it is now. seasons were longer, we had filler episodes, things were lower quality sometimes but at least they came out on a consistent schedule. i donât mind if supernatural isnât an artistic masterpiece, but if i was a stranger things fan waiting until 2026 for the final season, i would be annoyed if it wasnât damn near perfect. thatâs assuming i watched it at allâweâre all so used to not getting endings and moving on, so why would i bother?
i think there are two types of shows doing sort of okay about this. one is proceduralsâ9-1-1 is a popular one iâve run into, and it started in 2018, around the beginning of the decline, but itâs managed 7 seasons in those six years, most of them with 18 episodes. the other is, honestly, animeâthough we can and SHOULD talk about the terrible working conditions that make the fast turnarounds there possible. look at how big some anime fandoms are.
judging by the relative fandom popularity of other procedural dramas (greyâs anatomy, law & order, criminal minds), i think thatâs going to remain sort of niche. fandom likes fantasy and scifi best, and they just donât tend to have as strong of an overarching arc to dig into. at least, thatâs why i wouldnât watch them. i think thereâs also a good chance these will start to die out in the coming years as well.
anime could also die out a little bit. better working conditions would necessitate less/slower content, and itâs true that most of the popular anime fandoms have been around for years, even decades.
so, what, no new, lasting tv show or movie fandoms anymore?
what will the biggest fandoms be in 5-10 years?
podcast fandoms have a shot. the magnus archives is still going strong, and iâve been seeing a lot about dungeons and daddies. i think weâre kind of almost past the golden age for podcasts, but i am an outsider, so maybe that will change.
book fandoms seem like a kind of obvious choice, but they just donât get as big without, you guessed it, a movie or show adaptation. and the downsizing has hit them, tooâcan you think of anything from the last 5 or 10 years that rivals harry potter, percy jackson, warriors, lord of the rings, hunger games, acotarâŚeven game of thrones (asoiaf) again? i canât. the collapse of the publishing industry is another post entirely.
2020 is really what cemented these changes, though they were starting in the late 2010s, at least. with actual industries shutting down, there was room for indie creators making things alone in their houses to pop up, and people had more time on their hands to try new things out and get into them.
the two things that have really been on the rise since 2020 is rpf and video game ficâoften both combined. weâve got genshin impact, call of duty, minecraft of course being huge, rpf of various youtubers, and k-pop rpf. now, i think rpf is contentious enough that it wonât really become the main fandom, but video game ficâŚmight be it.
even video blogging rpf can often be a blurred enough line that people are more comfortable with it. and the thing isâŚyoutube creators are actually more reliable than mainstream television these days. they need to be, to maintain their platforms. they need to not cancel series and to live up to their own hype as best they can and to not abandon the channel for 3 or 4 years at a time. and again, you can talk about burnout and unrealistic expectations and all of those things, but itâs still true.
maybe iâm completely wrong. maybe in 10 years the film and publishing industries will all sort themselves out and weâll go back to the status quo. but i think this position fandom is finding itself in is interesting, and i wouldnât necessarily be surprised if whatâs most popular (both in the specific source material sense and the medium/genre sense) is different some time down the road.
