My purpose and singular mission in life is to make sure queer and/or neurodivergent kids know that sometimes it really is their parents who are stupid and other adults are on their side. This, unfortunately, does not make me popular with their parents. Gonnae keep doing it though.

#kid was very overwhelmed by the theatre environment and panicking and didnt want to see the show cause it looked scary #and the mum was trying to get me to tell the kid its not scary (no i dont lie to kids i told her there are lots of funny bits but a couple #of maybe scary bits too)#and I told her hey listen the bravest thing you can do is tell people you arent comfortable somewhere. youve done so well to do that #and i gave her a program so she can learn more and make an informed decision if she wants to come another time #and i asked her what her favourite things are and she said science and animals and i told her to try the museum its super fun #and her mum was all 'ugh shes a nightmare she's ~on the spectrum~'#and i went yeah me too. and told the kid this isnt for everyone and she did well to tell me and i hope she likes the museum #and like. her mum yelling at her was making everything worse. talking to her like a person with agency?#got her from full panic attack to actively smiling at me in under 5 minutes #sometimes your parents or guardians are in fact being stupid or rude! neurodivergent adults exist! other people see you and hear what you're #saying and won't be mad!#anyway. now IM very overwhelmed but i really hope that kid remembers this and i hope she has a great day #im going to get a coffee and sit under a tree for a while

reminder as easter approaches to not give rabbits or ducks as gifts

both are animals that require special care (no, not all animals are just different shapes of cats or dogs) and can live up to 10 years if well cared for

they're not toys, they're living creatures that require love, care, special diets, time, and modifications to your home to keep them safe

they are also not creatures that can just be released into the countryside and be expected to survive. They're domestic animals and will not survive. Please don't impulse buy any animal as a gift, but at least have the basic humanity to rehome them or surrender them to a shelter/rescue and not leave them on the side of the road or in a box in a dumpster

Kind of like Christmas time, there's an influx of impulse/gift adoptions around Easter time that are then immediately surrendered or abandoned within a month. Consider finding a local rescue in your area and donating money, supplies, or your time via volunteering to help! Many also run foster programs, or need help with driving the animals in their care to vet appointments and so on.

do you think the mario and sonic at the olympic games series will ever get another game.... i wanna see sage as a playable character i think it would be cute and silly

#also i love the fun victory animations that they did for the 2016 one and i wanna see more #there are still character combos who could have gotten one but didnt. like sonic and knuckles dont have one?? whihc is criminal #knuckles and amy should also have one i think ... every possible combination of the main 4 having a different animation #would be cute. also sonic and shadow dont have one either i dont think which is surprising #i cant think of many mario and sonic character combos i think should have special animations that dont already have one ..#if sage was in it she should definitely have an animation with bowser jr #and she should also have one with eggman and metal sonic but im talking about crossover duos rn #i cant think of any reason why they Wouldnt make another game but like the gap between the most recent one and now #is a lot bigger than the gap between the other games which is why i suspect theyre done with it #(iirc they came out in 2008 2010 2012 2014 2016 and 2019. so. its usually 2 years and its been almost 5)

I'm thinking about my next tattoo and I think I know placement, but I want it to involve the western red lily (a kind of tiger lily, a native lily of Saskatchewan) and some plant from Alberta (maybe fireweed or sagebrush) but also possibly an actual tiger among or entwined with the plants or as a separate tattoo. It's another idea that would have a lot of personal meaning/symbolism but I can't decide yet if I wanna go the pure botanical route or let myself branch into creature as well

#and then there's the artists... I think I wanna work with someone other than the guy whose done my two existing #but that's because I'm leaning hard into the creature!tiger concept #tattoo #some local artists including one who does rly cool big cat / animal tattoos were doing a flash #but I did the responsible thing of NOT leaping down to the shop for a spontaneous tattoo -- even though I've been thinking for about a month #more seriously like 'I want to save up for another'#very bravely did not impulsively spend $$ on a permanent body alteration but it at least tipped me to imagine this more #I keep browsing artist portfolios from those I follow. sigh. haven't picked one yet!#when it feels right it'll feel right

i never feel unsafe when i go on walks with tucker because i know at the end of the day he will protect me (even though he’s a big softie) but today yall i was real worried!

#i walked with tucker to a sonic near my house that i’ve walked with him a million times #got him an ice cream like i’ve done a million times! and have never felt more on edge on a walk with him ever in the four years i’ve had him #like the vibes were a hundred percent not there #i typically let tucker eat his ice cream there let him drink some water ect to cool down a little bit #at first i could kinda see the guy watching out of the corner of my eye and i thought oh this location doesn’t have pup cups maybe he’s #never seen a dog eat ice cream but then when i went to go throw something away i noticed this man fully PRESSED to the glass watching us so #i was a little antsy and moved to a table a little closer to the outer sidewalk then i hear a door close and realize he is outside :)#and here’s the thing about tucker tucker is VERY aware when i am anxious and this is a dog will not let anything come inbetween him and his #ice cream but tucker kept stopping and looking over at the guy then back at me taking long pauses from his ice cream at one point moving #over to stand in front of me with his ears perked #when tucker got mostly done i was like ‘oh good boy are you full? let’s get you home’ and as i stand up to leave the guy comes closer and #starts asking me questions about tucker and thank GOD another customer came up looked at us and immediately started asking the guy questions #because i was genuinely contemplating running out of there #but home and fine now and obviously it was at a sonic by an intersection nothing was gonna happen but i was mad worried and i am forever #grateful tucker is a very intuitive animal because if homeboy did his usual ‘only thing that exists in this world is ice cream’ schtick it #could’ve been different (he was mad at me about the ice cream afterwards btw but we had already crossed the street)#eris: text #tucker: text

I’m saying something quite obvious already but omg it’s so good to use characters as role models when facing difficulties

#I just managed to have a difficult conversation with a friend/colleague and didn’t back down or leave out part of what I wanted to say #and found motivation in telling myself “Jean wouldn’t back down”#I was like “Deal with the issue like Jean would deal with the Fatui” and then I did that #Downside from this: I also only go home very late so that I can get more work done because “Jean wouldn’t just go home and rest >:(”#On another note #I’m going to need a lot lot of “Jean would do it” this weekend #Because I’m going to participate in a short animation project #And by participate I mean be one of the two directors so… yeah #But sure #how could this go wrong?#It’s not like I have debilitating social anxiety or anything haha lol aaaaaah #(I’m complaining but I’m actually very happy and grateful that I was selected to do this.
