deeply so curious about the fact that like. batayan’s song is a jumbled version of a song about a guy refusing to show his bag to a police officer. the original song is so purposefully silly but then when batayan sings it it’s turned sweet and tender. like what does that mean. was this just a funny goof the original developers wanted to do or does it truly mean something??

Oh my god. It's been said before, but Antonio is such a human/cat version of Hypno. He talks about wanting to hypnotise strangers if they make prolonged eye contact and there's a dex entry about Hypno that says something like "If you make eye contact, it will try to hypnotize you. Look away before it can." Antonio needs a PMD AU where he is one.

Furthermore, several sources note that Selfridge was one of multiple people who may have coined the phrase, others being John Wanamaker and Marshall Field.

“Jack of all trades…” - FALSE - various sources show that the original phrase was the judgement-neutral “Jack of all trades,” and the “master of none” bit was added later; the “ofttimes better than a master of one” part is likely a modern addition.

“The blood of the covenant…” - FALSE - the original phrase is “Blood is thicker than water.” The modern authors who claim the second line is the original meaning fail to cite any sources.
