hello!! if you’re seeing this and actually reading it, then congrats! would you like to fill out a form?

im currently holding out a form for anyone to fill in about who their favorite a hat in time character is and why! the form includes cut characters, main characters, backgrounders, and secondaries. i did my best to cover all my grounds, but please feel free to tell me if i’ve missed some or argue why your own fave should be there!

why argue with me about your fave? well, i set up my own personal definition of what counts as a character in this instance. moreso ones with personality, and not as much just including spiders or birds that are just.. literally basic animals. if you feel like i’ve defined a character i didn’t include incorrectly, feel free to argue with me on why that is! (i say this genuinely joyfully. i LOVE discussions)

you have to be signed in to include your response, but don’t worry- i’m not sitting here tracking emails or anything. this is only done to try and prevent spamming and such. (besides- who DOESNT have an email??)

i may also use this data for an essay of sorts, but don’t worry- if you’d like your written responses to not be tracked (basically not be used for the research, mainly quotes or something) then you can check off that good ol’ “no thank you” at the beginning of the form! this essay would simply be researching why certain characters are overrated or underrated. i may even make an opposite to this asking who’s the most hated! it’d help the research process a TON. maybe i will actually. enjoy this positive patty version for now!

fucked up how yomiel doesn’t even see his own body as his, to me. he calls it a shell, or his shell. not his body, not his corpse, his shell. a shell for him to possess. dude doesn’t even have a connection to his own body- his own face- anymore. does he even mean “my face” when he says it or does he mean it in a possessive sense. not something connected to him but something he just owns. idk am i making sense. he makes me insane.

can you imagine the guilt yomiel must’ve felt from accidentally shooting his own pet cat and just straight up not realizing until like chapter 16 where he sees the person he’s been fighting against the whole time was his pet cat. his only friend for all these ten years. all because he decided to bring kitty sissel with him on this last journey to try and get a new life. the simple fact he brought kitty sissel with him in a little cat carrier by his side at that moment, even when he met up with lynne, makes me ill. and and and. and. (wails into the carpet)

i don’t know how they got me to feel the possible dread of the entire series in this one scene that has zero context to it but they did it and i’m frightened

something i rlly liked was how much more we could see how twisted these two are. martin went wayy far out with this sequel in terms of the fucked up horror from playing with corpses. its awesome. it didn’t scare me that bad on a surface level but moreso on a realization level. i had to think about how fucked up it is and THEN it scared me. which is also still good btw don’t get it twisted.

it was also a TREAT to see the last two in the new style, and the more twf-esque style specifically being used to be a sort of odd one out, specifically used for when a the living become tortured or dead. awesome and interesting way to mix your art styles.

really makes itself stand out in every possible way from the original. good job martin this was absolutely killer. pun intended
