Tara Carpenter: Headcanons
Headcanons
Note: Random Tara hcs that've been running through my mind
Tumblr media
I feel like she's a picky eater - like "orders chicken fingers and french fries at fancy restaurants" picky eater
Steals Borrows Sam's clothes
Has knee problems. Even before gf she had shitty knees but gf certaintly didn't help
She walks with a little limp that's a result of Amber's attacks
Hated gym. She constantly tried to get out of it by bringing up her asthma or saying she was on her period/pmsing
Always begged Sam to let her ride in the shopping cart whenever they went grocery shopping (still does)
She's a funny/flirty drunk and grows clingy
She could zone out for hours on an object, observing it in all its glory
She has allergies (Sam's been epi-pen trained for as long as Tara's been alive)
Tried weed once. Instant regret.
Eats youtube essays UP
Short attention span. Can't watch a tiktok longer than 2 seconds without someone playing subway surfers on the other side
If something genuinely interests her, she's gonna know a shit-load about it (ex: sharks or lizards)
Addicted to energy drinks and coffee - really anything with caffeine she's downing
Texts like she's sending you a ransom note
Hates her birthday, hates Christmas, tolerates Halloween
Puts hot sauce on everything. Ketchup used to be the thing she put on everything, but as she says to Sam and her friends, she's matured since then
Two left feet, terrible coordination
Farsighted. Can't see for shit without being at least 10 feet away. She's stubborn about it too. Whenever Sam confronts her about it, she brushes it off as nothing before walking into a wall
Laughs at the most unserious things/during inappropriate moments
Spongebob lover, they're the same person idc
Complains about Sam's snoring even though she's just as loud a snorer - if not louder
Puts ketchup in her mac n' cheese and calls it a delicacy. Since she was left to take care of herself - her Sam and sperm doner being gone and Christina off at business trips - she learned to do with what she had You know when Janine (abott elementary) mixed peanut butter with her ramen? Or when Jake (brooklyn nine nine) called a spoon full of mayo with nuts sprinkled on top a snack? Yeah. Tara.
When Sam first had a chance to see the atrocious meals Tara put together, she started teaching Tara how to cook basic, and proper, meals. At least she's trying to
Tara gets a little too excited when she's put on chopping duty
Sleeps with a night light (those ladybug ones have her name written all over it)
'Lilo and Stich' is her comfort movie, this isn't up for debate. She feels connected to the movie on another level, and every time she watches it she ends up in tears

I was wondering if you had any advice on doing well in the new RA mode, I'd like to give it a proper go because the mode is interesting but I kind of struggled with the last version. Mostly with being efficient with resource gathering and getting my base built properly for eneny attacks. Even just a quick list of basic tips would be super helpful, thanks!
Sure thing, a quick and dirty on RA Wiseposting:
A basic understanding of math takes you a long way. What this means is, every time you go on any deployment, no matter how small, you are using resources: Six pieces of Rice at the bare minimum (for 2 energy drinks), and an Act, of which you get two per day. So that's the baseline of what you are spending outside of whatever else you bring, such as Wood Harvesters (7 Wood per unit plus 1 Stone), Crabbie Pumpies (10 Wood per unit), and so on. If you use a Harvester, getting 7 Wood out of it is just enough to break even, any more Wood you get on top of that is what you are actually bringing in. Basically, make sure you are actually not losing resources on each outing.
For the love of god, use your resources. Yeah, you need to accumulate resources to level up your HQ, but you also need to use them for Gameplay. For the low low cost of 2 Stones and 2 Water, you can make Urban Barriers that reroute enemies. For the pitance that is 5 Wood, you can make Battlements, which are your own deployable Ranged tile. For 8 Wood, you can craft a Reactive Barrier, a 5 Block wall that can hold light and medium enemies for a bit while you deploy everything else and build your DP, as RA2 maps open very fast for the most part. These are insanely powerful tools and when I hear someone struggling with RA, my first guess is that they are not using these tools. You can shape any map to suit your intent. If you can't understand how strong that is, then you are not ready to tackle this gamemode, which, actually, leads me to the next point:
This IS endgame. Like, endgame endgame. Besides using the game mode's mechanics, it's also expected that you know your team building besides "I can deploy Surtr, Ch'ung and Mlynar, and win". It's absolutely not going to work if you don't know how else to to build a comp and take on challenges harder than Do Damage To It Without Minding Anything Else. That and the raw requirements in terms of number of Operators to truly enjoy all bonuses within the game mode (like Expeditions and Logistics).
Learn to do maps as efficiently as possible: Try to master getting all the animals or resources in any given map, you are using Food and an Act to do anything, make sure to get as much as you can out of it, how to go about each given hunting or resource map, which units, how much to spend on Gatherers and Watch Towers, etc. This ties in on point one. Battlements allow you to put ranged tiles to burst resource tiles more easily, too.
Cook food and use it. Food is incredibly powerful and gives you a lot of flexibility on what you want out of each individual unit: More Block and bulk, more SP generating, more Attack, less DP cost and redeployment timer, food is just VERY powerful and by not cooking and eating these stat boosting meals, you are very much making your life harder for you. Experiment at first to discover recipes, then start cooking what you need for whatever task you need.
INTERCEPT. Intercepting is attacking enemies before they reach your base. If you lose in your HQ, you lose. If you lose anywhere else, you just keep going and whatever enemies died remain dead. You don't need to kill hordes on the first fight, you just need to thin them and make each subsequent fight easier. Why fight 230ish enemies all hitting you at once when you can attack them, thin that out to maybe 160 then 120 then to 33 and then actually defend against a fraction of them with a LOT more leeway? You can just make a team that has no intention of actually winning and instead just aims to kill as many enemies as quickly as possible before you inevitably leak the boss. Figure out your own strategies and use structures and traps you can craft.
These would be the six fundamental maxims for RA2, I would say. You can use Urban Barriers to make mazes on maps and set up kill points and other things, but that's a whole other post.

Hullo Mei!
I was hoping I could request something similar to the hu tao / Miko thing but for Tingyun and Ganyu. Basically reader coming home after a rotten day very out of it and clinging to them for comfort and warmth as they slowly fall asleep.
:)
Tumblr media
pairing(s): pre-established ganyu x gn!reader, pre-established tingyun x gn!reader
Tumblr media
Ganyu
: ̗̀➛ This woman is as, if not more, tired than you are. Still, that doesn't mean it doesn't kill her to see you so out of it. All she wants is for you to be happy and healthy, but she's not really sure how to help you with that considering how different a human and an adeptus' perception of happiness is.
: ̗̀➛ She tries, though! She'll do all of the things that you do for her every time she's had a rough day at work, getting you water and food, and spoiling you with cuddles and kisses at every opportunity that she has.
: ̗̀➛ Also, she'll ask you about your day and lend you an ear for all of your vents about whatever annoyed you, which eventually ends up with the two of you asleep in each other's arms.
: ̗̀➛ If she wakes up first, which she most likely will, she'll (try to) cook you your favorite meal. It pains her to have to leave the warmth of your embrace, especially when you look at her with those eyes, but your health comes first!
: ̗̀➛ Her cooking isn't world-class or anything, but nothing tastes better than your favorite meal when it's served by your absolute beauty of a partner!
: ̗̀➛ Afterward, she'll put on a movie (which usually just ends up as white noise to both of you) as you enjoy each other's company. The two of you fall asleep again, but this time, you fall asleep content and full of energy.
Tumblr media
Tingyun
: ̗̀➛ She's not surprised when you come home looking like you've been dragged to hell and back— after all, she herself has been there multiple times in the span of her long life. She is very worried, though.
: ̗̀➛ She tries to take care of you by suggesting what she would do to cheer herself up: a spa day! To her, nothing is better than glamming herself up and feeling like the prettiest girl on the Xianzhou after a tiring day at work. She's more than wealthy enough to afford it, too.
: ̗̀➛ Saunas, massages, or even a manicure if you want; just say the word and she'll quickly arrange an appointment for the two of you! She's not gonna let the day end without you feeling the most refreshed you've ever been.
: ̗̀➛ If you're not really into that or just don't have the energy for it, she's also completely fine with just staying at home and cuddling. She's already very physically affectionate when the two of you are alone, but that's intensified 10x now that she's set her mind on cheering you up.
: ̗̀➛ She'll even let you touch her foxian ears and tail, which you know is a really big thing for her. They're very sensitive and she spends a lot of both time and money to properly take care of them. It just goes to show how much she's grown to love and trust you.
: ̗̀➛ You'll probably end up lying on her lap with her tail protectively wrapped around you, eagerly listening to all her stories from her travels and business ventures. You can't help but think of how lucky you got to have met her as you fall asleep listening to her soothing voice. <3

Batfamily Cooking Headcanons
I was thinkin about it, so have some Batfamily cooking headcanons. They are as detailed as I could get them and in age order. I also included Steph and Barbara, even though they aren't in the main seven.
Alfred - The family cook and the best cook in the family. He distrusts American processed foods because he knows that many of the more chemical ingedients have been banned in Europe, but he deals (and gets as much food imported from Europe as is practical).
Bruce - Has a very mismatched set of cooking skills. He can sort of cook... on a camping stove or a campfire. He can cook beans and boil water. However, he cannot use an oven, nor a microwave, and his knowledge of spice or baking is nonexistant.
Barbara - Can cook. She knows the basics as she learned growing up, so she didn't have to buy takeout every time her dad was working late. Her dad would've been fine with the takeout, however as she became Batgirl, she became very aware of the nutrition needed for vigilante and decided to learn instead. Admittedly, she fell into using microwaves a bit more as Oracle, especially before her flat was adapted, but once her kitchen was adapted, she was relieved to go back to cooking properly as she hadn't realised how much cooking was a hobby for her until it was blocked by inaccessibility.
Dick - Can cook. He has the basics down, as Alfred forced him to learn how to boil an egg and put something in the oven, and a few learned recipes, some learned from his early childhood. He takes comfort in cooking for other people, especially when it's a recipe he learned because he grew up with it. However, if he's on his own and doesn't have anyone to cook for, he is not cooking. He'd rather have something microwaved or some cereal, and he is the king of nutriotionally balanced cereal.
Jason - Second best cook in the family. He spent a lot of time in the kitchen with Alfred between being adopted and dying and most of that time was learning how to cook creatively. Even if he can't be bothered to cook, there are probably leftovers in his fridge. He had some skills before then from having to cook for his mom, but when he started learning from Alfred he was pleasantly surprised to find he enjoyed the process, so it became more of a hobby than a survival skill.
Cass - Queen of snacks. She can cook, don't get me wrong, because Alfred taught her, but she much prefers snacking throughout the day. She often learns new recipes for more variety in her snacking, because sometimes it's nice to have an onigiri instead of a sandwich or put together a really nice charcuterie board with homemade butter. Her snackboards are usually also great for her to eat while training or dancing because it isn't too much and can sometimes remind her she's human, not a weapon, when she gets in her head.
Steph - Can cook. She knows how to make a healthy and cheap balanced meal, but the most she goes beyond is for sweet treats. For her cooking was a survival skill, especially after her dad was finally in jail. Baking and desserts, on the other hand, she enjoys making. She often bakes for friends, family, and herself, and sometimes learns new recipes to try with Cass. While she was pregnant, especially in the late term, baking simple things like cupcakes was one of the hobbies she still felt like she had the energy to do and helped take her mind off of it, even though she had to sit while stirring.
Tim - Can cook. He knows how to make a healthy balanced meal, he lived alone long enough as a teen to know. However, he cannot go beyond that. Alfred tried to teach him a couple of times in the early days of Robin, but it simply didn't go in and after a few too many faraway looks after he burned something he decided that maybe it was time to stop trying. He, canonically, has the worst taste of the family though, so no one asks him to cook anyway.
Duke - Can cook. His parents taught him basic cooking skills and he enjoys going beyond and playing with spices. He's a bit nervous of joining Alfred in the kitchen as first, but eventually he learns that most of the others have found similar solace in spending time cooking with him, so he starts to join too. He also happens to have a cookbook his parents had stashed in their kitchen, even if they didn't use it while they were still at home, so he sometimes spends time learning the recipes from that.
Damian - Has a very mismatched set of cooking skills. Similarly to his dad, Damian learned a very strange set of cooking skills. He cannot use an oven or a microwave but he can appreciate Alfred's kettle for its practicality in a tea-centric household. He can, however, make a relatively simple meal on a camping stove, beyond what Bruce can make on a camping stove. He does occasionally allow Alfred or one of the other cooking-competant family members to teach him a skill every now and then though.

The struggles of disabled people without support at home.
I've been away from home for over a week. I have next to no expectations put on me here, but I still have my weekly physical therapy and both myself and Town Crier to take care of.
TC eats 3x a day and obviously, I need food too. My grandparents are cooking about one meal a day at a nearly consistent time, so I'm eating at least once a day consistently. At home, I was lucky if I ate a single meal a day.
I (sometimes) help with setting the table, which consists of paperplates, paper napkins, silverware, and glass cups. Since both me and my cousin help with this, I'm usually not doing any heavy lifting at all.
I spend part of the day downstairs and 'randomly' will go upstairs to lay down for awhile. Usually, after my mid day break upstairs, I bring my laptop downstairs and play some games until dinner and end there or resume playing until the end of the night.
No one critiques my daily routine. No one asks me to do more than I can. Everyone appreciates when I help out.
I was having trouble walking and standing yesterday because I did far too much the day prior, but because I spent the entire day resting I was able to contribute to cooking dinner and I cooked the pasta roni (~10 mins of intermittent standing required). I was able to play games and rest afterward without being yelled at for not doing more, and was even thanked for helping cook a portion of the dinner.
I have a funny sad thing to say about this: Somehow by being asked to do nothing, I've found I can do so much more than when I'm asked to do a tiny bit.
The shittiest part of this story, as random small bits put together as it is, is that I am more disabled when I'm asked to be functional, and less disabled when I can go at my own pace or back out if need be. At home I get asked to do things like empty the dishwasher (which is tons of light to heavy objects, Ina short period of time), vacuum (which is alot of heat, standing, walking, arm movement, a eight on my arm, back movement and back bending, navigation, balance, etc), cleaning things like the bathroom (which required detailed work for some parts plus moving all the things needed so they don't get in the way or touch the chemicals). I could go on and on and on but the point will get muddled if I write the entire list and every problem on every "basic chore" because the truth is that I need alot of breaks, a long period of time, and the option to back out of all of these things to be successful at it without seriously hurting myself. If I do too much today, it will affect me for multiple days. If I do too much for an entire week it will affect me for a month or more, etc. I sometimes feel really good like I did on Friday and accidentally over do it and need to be able to back down from most things for a period of time afterwards.
I normally can't make a box of pasta roni AND move anything heavy (like my laptop) on the same day at home because I'm always expected and forced to do so much more. I usually can't make cookies on days like today where I need to spend multiple hours at a time lying down in between short bursts of sitting or activity, but today I could because there's nothing else I have to do so spending potentially all of my energy is okay. Resting afterwards is okay. No one is upset because less than an hour after making cookies I had to lay down and still am. NO ONE said it's not okay. However if I go home cookies are a luxury therefore the logic goes that "if you can bake some cookies, you can do some dishes too". At home I wouldn't be able to make the cookies because it opens up the idea I'm able to do a ton of chores. I'm not okay right now, that's why I'm resting.
I feel like I'm ranting in circles at this point... but honestly I don't get why most people will see me do one "simple" (for them) thing and assume I'm okay to do things even they don't want to do because it takes up alot of energy... I really don't get it. My health sucks, it goes up and down all day long, all week long, and yet people want to pretend I'm making it up if I can do literally a single thing normal people can...
I hope my fellow disabled friends and people I haven't met yet find themselves in better social situations than me because this isn't okay in any way.

When you get sick
Based on the Uno reverse Beel pulled in the last post.
Info: Human AU, GN!Mc.
Summary: You've got the cold and now your boyfriend must take care of you.
Warnings: general talk of sickness.
Tumblr media
Lucifer
Has "do what I say, not what I do" energy.
He urges you to take time off and rest. Says it's very important to relax for a timely recovery. Be sure to remember his exact words for the next time he is sick.
Will try to get out of work earlier so he can take care of you. He calls you throughout the day to see how you're doing and if you need anything. If you're in a really bad condition, he will take time off to take care of you.
He can't cook, but will order any foods you like.
He will cuddle you if you ask, but won't offer on his own. He is a little scared of it being contagious.
When you feel better, he won't expect anything from you but will accept any gestures of gratitude you give him.
Mammon
Whiny.
Thinks you're going to die.
You have to reassure him that it's just a cold every thirty minutes. I will try to get you to the hospital anyway.
He is completely at your service from day one. Do not dare move a muscle; the great Mammon has everything covered for you.
You have a fresh supply of hot tea always by your side. He makes sure you get all of your meals. He keeps a tally of every medicine you need to take. You basically have a personal nurse.
Lots of cuddles and massages.
If you're trembling at all because of the fever, he will hold you as if you were having a seizure.
He cries a lot when you're in pain, probably more than you.
When you're feeling better, he will expect at the very least a thank-you gift. A shopping spree would be preferable.
Leviathan
He doesn't know what to do.
Finds everything to be too overwhelming. He is really worried about you and wants to help, but he has no idea how to take care of a sick person. So, of course, he goes back to the person who used to take care of him when he was sick. Mammon.
He tries his hardest to be just as supportive, but it doesn't go well. The tea is always too hot or too cold, he only knows how to make ramen, and he keeps forgetting about the ibuprofen!
In the end, the best he can do for you is bring you more tissue boxes and lay down by your side while you watch movies. You reassure him that this is more than enough, but he still feels a little guilty.
When you feel better, make a great spectacle about how helpful he was. He did miss a butch of seasonal releases just to stay with you.
Satan
He will insist you take time off the moment symptoms start to show.
Shows up at your house with a butch of medicinal herbs. Mint to open up your nose, lavender to help with the headache, cardamom for... Something? He knows it had some healing property, but seems to have forgotten. He makes you some soup with it just in case it was important.
Won't go near you, even if you ask. Most he'd do is help you get around if your muscles are aching.
He will tell you about his latest read and how it made him feel. If you have read it, he will ask you to compare notes. Just trying to keep you entertained any way he can.
He brings all of his favorite tea blends for you to try out.
He won't expect anything in return for his care. He loves you, and that's just what you do for the people you love.
Asmodeus
Whiny 2.0
"My poor, beautiful thing."
He might not know a lot about caring for the sick, but he knows a lot about self-care. You will still have a runny nose, but your skin will shine, baby.
He will pamper you. Have all of the blankets. Sleep for as long as you want. Ask for any food, and he will get it for you. With unlimited snacks, you can even have his favorite chocolates. He will watch all of your comfort shows and movies with you.
Baths, many baths. They are really good when you're sick; they relax your muscles and help the bad energies leave the body.
As soon as you're feeling good, it's his turn to be pampered! So better be prepared.
Beelzebub
If nothing else, you're well fed.
All healthy meals, he won't let you indulge in sweets. Your body needs protein and veggies right now, and he will have them for you at every meal.
Will cut fruit for you as snack.
Pushes you to do some light exercises when you can. Sweat out the sickness.
He is very supportive, constantly telling you you're going to be okay. He will stay by your side every single minute.
He will carry you around if your muscles are sore.
When you're feeling better, he will make you desert. For the days he has you surviving on steamed broccoli and rice.
Belphegor
This is actually great news.
He gets to cuddle with you all day, and you won't be able to escape. He can even use you as an excuse to take a day off. No work, no school, just napping with his favorite person. Every day should be like that.
If only you didn't have to be sick for it to happen.
He doesn't know much about taking care of someone. Being the youngest one, everyone else always took care of him. But he doesn't like seeing you hurt, so he will try his best.
The best medicine he can offer you is a good nap in his arms, but he will try some of Satan's medicinal teas. If needed, he will get Lucifer to drive him to the pharmacy.
He doesn't know a thing about eating healthy, so you will get a diet of chips, pastries, and candy.
If you manage to get better, he will whine about not having your full attention anymore.
Tumblr media
Thanks for reading!

Hi! I love love love you writing! (I've been here all morning, my chores are not getting done lol) Can we get the boys (tm) reacting to/taking care of a WoL who's sick? Like something that requires them to stay in bed and actually rest, something I imagine most WoL's aren't very good at lol maybe a lost, scratchy voice or something too pls <3
Look at these boys, taking care of their poor little meow meow lmao
ff14 boys (tm) taking care of a sick WoL:
Thancred needles you gleefully, but it's playful. What isn't playful is the way he's handling you. Damn but you always forget how strong he is. Easily lifting you off your staggering feet and into bed, from your bed to a bath and back. propping you up with one arm to tip medicine down your throat. A strong, weathered hand checking your temperature, patting your cheek, brushing your hair back so he can lay a cool cloth across your forehead.
In that hazy space between sleep and awake, you think you might even hear him singing to you, low and sweet. It's. Probably just the fever though.
Urianger isn't going to say that he warned you, but. Well. He did kind of warn you.
He doesn't rub it in, either. No, instead he's almost infuriatingly patient with you. When he's easing you into taking foul-tasting medicines, when he's bundling you up in blankets, when he's feeding you soups without letting you so much as lift a finger. He even reads to you-- mostly just dry historical texts that have you dozing off within minutes. It's the best rest you've ever had in your life, and you wake up feeling more alive than ever.
And THEN he will tell you that he warned you :)
G'raha seems like the kind of person who might panic and run around like a chicken with his head cut off. And he might have been, at one point. But he's an older soul now, with experience with a much tougher patient than you: a young Lyna.
He's kind, and gentle, but firm. Yes, you do need to stay in bed. No, you cannot get up. No, he is not going to bring your paperwork or needlework to your bed for you, but he will happily fetch a book for you to read, the new Heavensward memoir perhaps? Yes, you have to take the medicine, but yes you can also have a hot cocoa to chase the taste away.
Estinien stares at you where you're leaning on your lance. You stare at him. He raises an eyebrow. You look away. You can't even give a good excuse-- your voice went out about an hour ago, and you don't have the energy to croak words out around the frog in your throat.
He sighs, scoops you up despite your largely-mute protests, and carries your sorry ass back to the Forgotten Knight. He's no healer, but he remembers the very basics: a roaring fire, hot soup, soothing tea, and rest. It's hard for him, too, he'll freely admit. It feels like there's so much to do, and resting feels like a waste of time.
But if you keep working a damaged muscle, you'll just hurt it further, he reminds you, and helps you with your first few bites of soup. You have to rest, so that, at least if you don't come out the other side stronger, you come out the other side alive.
Aymeric seems calm and composed, but he is 100% internally a screaming chicken. He's already called on the best chirurgeons who would answer, gotten you the best of the medicines they recommended, helped his cooks prepare your favorite meal. All that is left is to wait, and. Aymeric is a strategist, he's good at the long game, but.
He lingers in the door to your room. In your comfy bed, all bundled up in warm blankets, you look so. small. Not the Warrior of Light, not his stalwart friend, but just. A person. Who gets sick. Who he might lose. And that. Scares him. More than a little.
You lift your head and blearily blink at him, and then your chapped mouth pulls into a smile. You pat the edge of your bed next to you for him to sit.
"Tell me about your day?" you croak.
And he takes your hand, and he does.
Haurchefant shakes his head fondly as he moves to help you off the floor where you've fallen.
There was a short period of time when he was really, truly worried for you. When you had just woken up into the new reality of your life, your blank eyes staring at the space where you arm had once been. It's hard, he understands, for a warrior to lose so much of what had once defined them.
But you've still got your fire, to his relief and his chagrin, spitting and cursing and wiggling as he settles you back into bed and flops his entire not-insignificant weight on top of you.
"Hush, now," he says, his mouth right next to your ear, one hand coming up to curl, warm and heavy, around the back of your neck. You're still running a fever, he notes idly, but it's certainly better than it was before. "I think we've earned a spell of rest, don't you?"
Sidurgu freezes at the first cough that rattles through your chest. The memories rise horrifying and unbidden, of coughs that echo in armor, of shaking hands and failing strength and nights hungry, trembling, curled around each other in a desperate bid of warmth, terrified of falling asleep because he doesn't want to wake up to a frozen corpse next to him. And Fray lived, sure, but the cold in their bones never did leave them, not until the day they--
But this is now, he reminds himself, and you are not Fray. There is gil for medicine AND for food, and even for a warm place to sleep. There is Rielle, diligently studying her conjury and happy for a real, live patient to practice on, falling asleep against your chest not because she exhausted herself, but because the hour grew late and she, bored.
How terrifying it is for a Dark Knight to know peace, he thinks as he carefully repositions her so that she is not putting so much weight on your sick lungs. As he brushes your hair from your forehead and places a single kiss there before replacing the cold compress.
How terrifying, and how wonderful.
BONUS
Erenville has this way about him that is undeniably guilt-inducing. The kind of demeanor that reminds you of clucking mothers and worried-looking fathers, all with his hands on his hips and a single eyebrow raised, and you don't even have the voice to argue with him as he takes you by the hand and half-drags you back to his room.
In a city full of scholars, doctors, and healers, he gripes, and you couldn't find your way to any of them? What if you had gotten hurt? or accidentally gotten someone else sick? or spread something to the delicate denizens of labyrinthos?
But you can sense the very real concern for you, beneath his scathing tone. In the way he keeps one hand on your chest to feel your breathing, the other on your wrist to monitor your pulse. The way he takes you to his home-- not the shoddy room the forum gives to any gleaner, but to the one he's build in the Golmorean section of labyrinthos-- and keeps you there until you get better.

okay once again i am coming to tumblr to ask for help as in HOW DO I EAT MORE VEGETABLES IN THE AGE OF LISTERIA. lol but no really, here is the problem:
i was a salad guy, i used to eat mostly raw veg but i don't feel super comfortable doing that rn.
i'm also autistic and i end up getting super overwhelmed every dinner time because adding new steps for dishes i haven't made before is really daunting, and when i start looking for new recipes online it's like there are so fucking many? so i freeze.
basically i love vegetables and pre-pandemic i ate them all the time but now that we can't go inside grocery stores where no one's masking and can't pick out our own produce, most of the produce we DO get from the store pickup/delivery is... disappointing at best. like sometimes we get it and it's already rotting.
needless to say i eat like 70% less veg than i used to and it's been really negatively affecting how well i feel.
farmers markets are too expensive for me to go to with any sort of regularly. we're considering farmers boxes but they are also kind of prohibitively expensive rn, so i guess i'm looking for like... idk, other solutions, if they exist?
or maybe i'm just hoping for literally any ways to eat more greens/veg that i can
1) cook/heat in some way because covid, and because it can hide the quality of shitty veg at the supermarket
2) aren't very very time consuming (i'm willing to spend like an hour making supper but that's about my energy capacity)
3) aren't something i need to buy an air frier or like a fucking sous vide or something to prepare
or maybe suggestions for veg that keep a little longer than greens do because we kind of shop just twice a month for covid exposure reasons?
this doesn't need to be like "healthy eating" i'm just looking for more variety in my diet.
anything, pls? recipes, ideas. i love veg i will eat all of them, i just never really learned to cook them well, or how to incorporate them into a lot of meals when it's not, like, salad
or even where do you get veg that is kind of affordable/doesn't suck?

So a while ago I got this ask,
Tumblr media
And got so freakin' into the story I was writing that I didn't ever get to what they're actually like as a relationship. I'm fixing that now 👇
Tumblr media
These three guys just kind of...click. Once they're together, and the hardest part's out of the way, they're surprisingly stable, and I think that's because of the balancing forces. Natsu's high energy vs Gajeel's lower energy and more reserved nature, with Laxus in the middle mediating. They rarely have relationship trouble.
When Natsu kisses Laxus, it's like drowning a little in the good feelings. When Gajeel kisses Laxus, it's like something in him has lit on fire. When Natsu kisses Gajeel, there's a certain surprising softness.
All it takes is for one of them to lay down and the other two join them almost automatically. The three of them really need a hammock, but until they get one, treating Laxus like one will have to do.
About half of the Instagram or Tiktok posts from these dudes is the other two recording Natsu doing something stupid, and they thoroughly enjoy it.
They're not clingy with each other but not distant either, genuinely enjoying being together in the same space. They often cook as three, shop as three, go out as three.
Laxus' house basically serves as the home for the three of them, even though Natsu and Gajeel both still have their own homes. The three of them can't live permanently in the same space (because those spaces would have to include cats).
Laxus being the only one who can cook means he kind of has to teach the other two, since they're both used to eating fire and metal, respectively. He's no master but he can teach them how to make a basic meal, which contributes to how much time they spend in the kitchen together.
Laxus also has to budget everything, being the only one with any money sense, so yeah you can kinda see why it's his house they tend to stay at.
They have to make compromises at concerts and other get-togethers. If Natsu doesn't get them to wear light-up cat-ears, then no one gets to have skull chokers.
They're all fairly strong drinkers, but they all have different tastes. Natsu likes it light, Gajeel likes whiskey or straight beer, and Laxus will be having vodka, thank you. It is very important their orders not be fucked up.
All three of them get tattoos throughout the course of the relationship, and they're usually sentimental in some fashion. Gajeel starts the tradition, and usually augments it with some piercings, but they all enjoy getting some ink.
Spending so much more time around him than most, Natsu and Laxus are the only ones who ever get to see Gajeel with short hair, since he frequently takes one of them to get it cut with him. It's...bizarre, at first. It doesn't look like Gajeel, but the first time he tries it, Laxus and Natsu assure him he looks great.
Pride goes crazy--all three of these dudes have legit fanbases in the wizard community.
They take a long, long, long time to get married. Like, they're all in their 40s. But it does happen.
And now, the spicy stuff 👇
There is a lot of séx. Like, a lot. It's a very high cumulative libido between the three of them. Someone is usually in the mood, and another of them if not both can usually be tempted to play.
I mean this in the gayest, most homosexual, most c*cksucking way possible: Natsu Dragneel is in bottom heaven. He has not one but two musclebound punk thug guys with big dícks ready to rearrange his insides at any given time. He couldn't ask for more.
Well, he could. But he's not brave enough to ask for DP. At first.
Speaking of bottoming--Gajeel and Laxus do it far less frequently, but they are still down. Gajeel, in particular, lets his machismo get in the way of it quite a lot. It's not just him not wanting to give Natsu the satisfaction, although there is that. He burns with jealousy the first few times he sees Natsu getting pounded straight to a state of nirvana, and he steadfastly engages Laxus 1v1 until he's more comfortable bottoming and letting Natsu see him do it.
Yes, let's all point and laugh at Gajeel the Bottom Very Versatile Top, except not really. He looks a fucking sweetass sight riding Laxus' díck, and Laxus lets him know how mindblowingly sexy it is.
Speaking of riding--all three of these guys are ass men. If Natsu is occuping that big lightning rod, Gajeel is probably sitting on Laxus' face, and vice versa. Perfect place to have a smoke or a joint. And all three are excellent at rimming.
They do PnP. Sometimes it gets out of hand.
It's basically understood without question that showering is a time for séx first, getting clean second. Not one of them ever gets in the shower without one or both of the others joining and making it take a lot more water than it needs.
When Gajeel does get in a topping mood though, whew boy, look out. Laxus was in the best train/sandwich of his life the other day and he had such a powerful orgäsm that it altered his brain chemistry.
They do the threeway kiss every so often and that's usually how Laxus chooses to initiate. Meanwhile Natsu likes to initiate by biting something.
Honestly these three kinda need to start an Onlyfans. Someone write a fic about that.

I'm not much for writing about my life in here, but lately I've been going through it and I need a safe space to vent. My mood and energy have been incredibly low, and I need to do something about it. Things in my life are not going how I wanted/expected them to go, so I should focus on the things I have control over because I can't afford to stay stuck in this feeling of frustration.
I pretend to do a glow up challenge over the next 5 months. I have a wedding to attend in October which is also my favourite month, so I thought it was a good idea to have that date as a moment to reflect on the progress made and also to enjoy the results. I will basically be focusing on things I usually focus on already, but trying to be more disciplined about it.
Rules
Intake
3 meals a day + latte (but no coffee after 4pm or black coffee in an empty stomach) ☕
Rotational breakfast so I don't get bored (smoothie, banana pancakes, homemade bread, overnight oats, and so on) 🥞
No ultraprocessed foods, if I am craving something I will have to cook it or make it myself 👩🏼‍🍳
2.3 liters of water daily 🥤
Exercise
Daily workout: either walks or pilates depending on the day 🌳
Rest days only if I am very busy 💆🏼‍♀️
Mental health
Meditation/guided meditation daily 🧘🏼‍♀️
Do something that brings me joy daily 🌷
Reading before bed instead of scrolling 📚
Tracking
I will be taking measurements and weighing in the 11th of each month. 📏
Social
I will be more assertive, especially when dealing with clients at work, since it saves time and trouble 🙅🏼‍♀️
Most of my "sorry" can actually be replaced by "thank you" 💞
Focus on nurturing the connections I already have 🤝🏼
I am already implementing most of the gameplan already, but the official starting date will be the 11th of May and I will follow this until the 11th October. I hope most of the habits stick with me by that time. So let's put even more effort into myself and let's hope the universe also puts effort into me ✨

Hey! So I have some lived experience in being poor and mentally ill I had to learn the hard way in my adulthood after growing up with abusive neglectful narcissistic parents. Maybe it will help someone else.
1. Instant pot. Crock pot. Rice cooker. You only need one, but all 3 are versatile, can use very little electricity to run, and are perfect to dump ingredients into and come back later to a healthy, cooked dinner.
You can research which is best for you by looking up "crock pot recipes" "rice cooker meals" to get a feel for what types of meals you can prepare in each and how it's purposes can best fit your cooking style.
2. Get your electronics secondhand. Phone companies make so much off of poor people bc they contract us into pay plans that mean that by the time our phones are needing replacing, we've paid for it 2 or more times over. Consider going Sim only and getting your phone secondhand.
Websites like backmarket and envirophone sell refurbished phones, tablets, laptops, smart watches, TVs, consoles, headphones, all sorts like new and for a fraction of the price point you'd usually get them at. I've not bought an electronic new since 2015 and the products I get refurbished last just as long as if I'd bought them new. Plus it's better for the environment. Even if I had money I don't think I'd go back to buying new honestly.
3. Static charger. If you're Autistic and can't sit still, like me you might be finding that the first thing to go on your electronics is your charge port. It's really annoying because it's not a cheap fix and I have had to replace phones early when they won't charge any more.
Last year my girlfriend and I got static chargers. It's an adapter that sits in your phone/tablets charger slot that magnetically connects to a universal charger. Its great for us because now everything rechargeable (phones/tablets, but also headphones, game controllers, keyboards/mouses) takes the same cable. It's really handy, but for me the best part is that the adapter doesn't move. So even if I'm fidgeting with my phone on charge it won't wear down the charger pins over time. We paid £20 for 3 and it's paid for itself because I've not had to take my phone for it's yearly fix since I got it.
4. Make a cozy space outside of bed. As a bedrotting girlie I know the allure of just saying "fuck it" and curling up in bed is so strong. I also know that when I do it for days at a time my sleep quality gets worse, my days blur together and my mental health gets so much worse. Especially if I'm working, watching TV, eating all my meals and doing my hobbies all from my bed.
One thing that helps me break up the bedrotting and at least helps me get some decent sleep so I might wake up feeling better tomorrow, is having a cozy spot that isn't in bed I can spend at least some of my day in.
For me, it's the couch in my living room. I've furnished it with pillows, blankets, and a little coffee table I can rest my stuff on so I can feel as comfy as I do in bed, but not actually be in bed most of the day. For You it could be a book nook, or a floor bed, or a desk with a chair in your bedroom.
5. Giant water bottle. This one is really simple. We need 8 glasses of water a day to be healthy and hydrated. Basically nobody depressed has the energy to fill up a glass of water 8 times a day. If you can get a water bottle that holds 2 litres (65oz) of water, now you only need to fill one drinking vessel once a day to be healthy and hydrated.
It's really simple and sill but it honestly saved my life. I buy those drink flavor packets because I drink more when it tastes nice. Is it as healthy as plain water? No. Is it healthier than no water? Yes. Easy peasy.
My bottle is from Meoky, its the 64oz stainless steel camping bottle with a flip straw I got for under £20. I like it because it keeps my water cold and I'd rather walk on hot coals than take a sip without a straw, but I've bought same size BPA free plastic bottles for like £3 and they have lasted me 2-3 years too so the budget options are absolutely worth it too.
6. Reconsider what's worth getting second hand. Generally when thinking about buying secondhand we mean clothes at the thrift, and that's great, but buying pre loved can be anything, and you can buy some high ticket items at an affordable price point that way.
If I ever want an appliance I always look second hand first. My rice cooker is secondhand and it is my favourite appliance. I've also bought a popcorn maker for a fraction of the price I'd buy it new, and I'm looking for a Kitchen Aid mixer for no more than a third the price they usually sell at. My vanity houses my shark air styler, I got it refurbished second hand and it was like new when I bought it. I use it every day and it still has so much wear in it.
Generally, the bigger and heavier something is, the closer to free you can get it, because the people getting rid of it just want it gone. If you ever need a washing machine or some furniture, look on gumtree or local no buy groups first. Type "free ___" followed by where you live into Google to get an idea whats available. If you're furnishing a space it's very likely you can get everything you need for the cost of the van you hired to collect it all.
7. Frozen vegetables. Fresh produce is getting more expensive and because we neurodivergent and mentally ill people can have a habit of letting fresh produce rot in the fridge, wasting money and making more mess to clean up, it's usually not worth it. The thing is, frozen produce is cheaper because it is picked in season, healther because it is frozen at optimum ripeness, and can be safely stored in your freezer for months, it's so worth doing.
They're usually pre-cut and can generally just be chucked into your dish frozen to defrost while cooking, making them easy and accessible. You can buy mixed vegetable packs (in the UK the most common is sweetcorn/peas/carrots and broccoli/cauliflower/) for some variety too, which I like to just dump a portion into soups or broths for some added vitamins.
8. Medication delivery. I've been medicated for mental illness for years, and a regular problem I used to have was I would neglect going to pick up my meds because I was depressed, then I'd run out and be unable to collect them because the lack of meds was making me more depressed.
Now however, I'm signed up with an online pharmacy. They processes my prescriptions exactly the same way any other pharmacy would and dispense them through the post in a box that fits through my letterbox. I never have to leave the house for meds again which is actually a lifesaver, the shipping is super cheap, like free for 3 day delivery and £2.99 for next day, and it's all processed through a super simple app that I only have to use like one a month when I request my refill.
It's so worth it and if you struggle to get out like me I absolutely recommend it. In the UK it's called Lloyd's Direct Pharmacy, but I'm sure it's a service you can find in other places of the world too.
9. Laundry separation is a lie. Which isn't a big deal for people who don't care about throwing money away on extra loads or people who have the spoons to faff around separating their clothes arbitrarily, but for poor neurodivergent people, it is.
So here's the thing, the rules of separating laundry by colour came about when clothes were made of all natural materials that would stick to each other when agitated and natural dyes that would run in water. Nowadays, clothes are made of synthetic or blended materials that can handle the friction of a modern machine and synthetic dyes that hold up to basically anything. 99% of clothes on the market, and therefore probably 99% of your wardrobe, is polycotton or some other poly-blend. So generally, everything you have can just all go in together on a warm wash.
Now, if you have woolen, linen or cashmere pieces, you should be separating them and following the care instructions on the label, but everything else, just shove it in mate, nothing bad will happen.
10. Protein powder. Protein powder is cheap, it's stored dry to it basically never goes bad, it's obviously protein so it's a really good addition to your diet, it tastes of whatever flavour you buy it in so it's a good meal substitute if you're depressed and your appetite is low, and it comes together really easily.
I usually get it in big tubs because they're cheaper per gram that way and I just add them to my coffee/hot chocolate for a boost or stir it into some Greek yogurt for a quick healthy snack. Thats actually my favourite way to get protein in because it's like 2 minutes and it covers up that sour taste yogurt has. I've also stirred it into milk for my cereal to varying success but it's good because the fat in the milk and the carbs and fortified vitamins in the cereal make it basically a meal. If I'm struggling for breakfast I usually add a scoop or two to an instant porridge pot and I have a ready to eat nutritional meal ready in the time it takes to boil the kettle.

food has been on my mind, so what would be the clans favourite dishes if cooking was a thing? like maybe honey glazed ham or venison or hamburger idk.... like, culturally, what would be a favourite food among each clan?
Oh boy you have NO IDEA what you've just started! I love food culture, I love talking about food culture! Buckle in for an essay
First of all, I HAVE to mention @bonefall, the GOAT of Warrior Cats culture redux! SO MUCH of AtD is inspired by their work < 3 I love it, if you wanna know my opinion on basically any Warrior Cats disc horse/hot takes just look at the bonefall post l!
I love their culinary clan cat stuff! Especially Windclan tunnelbuns, my favourite!
-
OKAY AtD time
So because The Prophecies Begin is canon, I can't really change much, HOWEVER that means I can do ANYTHING I want to the lake territories. Also other clans (UNLIKE CANON) WILL have their own cultures, such as around food. More on that later.
Also I should mention I will ignore irl what cats can actually eat to let myself be more creative. AtD locations are not based anywhere in the real world.
We really get things going with the journey. This is the first time the entirety of the clans are forced to work and travel together. This is an important moment to see even though their cultures aren't the same they're all cats. They have more in Common tha apart. This actually plants some seeds for further things down the line >: )
Cats in AtD can eat a more diverse palate than in canon, and being forced to move on before learning how to hunt in one place, they have to get creative. This is where the eating of insects is born. It's for survival now, but later becomes a common snack.
Besides having new food to eat, cats from different clans, mostly the young generation, combine cultural food practices to make new memories, or just share things with each other!
Clan Differences:
Thunderclan
- not much I can say rn (until we get to the lake)
- this is base canon
- fav food in atd, Thunderclan likes mixing food, especially mixing mice meat and the meat of any corvid
- idk why, but for irl, Thunderclan always gave me BBQ energy, especially backyard bbq
Shadowclan
- these guys...
- Shadowclan, even before the journey, has the most diverse foods
- due to past famines, they are more open to trying different prey
- a Shadowclan cat invented adding things to prey for flavour (rn its mostly herbs)
- has the skills to identify whether roadkill/crowfood is safe (wich will be vital on the journey)
- fav food in atd, cut open a large frog/toad, clean out the meat leave the juices, dice up some small mammal prey meat, put inside frog belly and leave to ferment : )
- fav irl food, Shadowclan is soups and stews to me. Also bread with stuff in it
Riverclan
- FISH
- started the practice of removing the bones (and scales) from the prey, more like perfected it
- will later find out they're really the only clan that has the ability to enjoy sweetness ie fruit or honey
- atd fav food is fish
- I know you think irl fav food is ALSO fish, but actually Riverclan is 'throw a bunch of random things in a bowl and call it a salad' to me. Also the expenssive gourmet restaurant nothing meals lol
Windclan
- they do the most well during the hunger-pained journey because they are kinda used to it?
- Windclan cats are practically trained in not eating much, only really eating once a day
- one rabbit is usually good for many cats, they don't hunt that often
- will later experiment with drying strips of prey meat (bacon clan)
- fav atd meal, strip the fur n' skin of a rabbit, leave it out in the sun (flesh facing up) for a bit, enjoy!
- fav irl meal, sandwiches, anything you can wrap in bread. Also energy drinks for some reason. I know I said Shadowclan would develop stuff like spices, but Windclan is the spicy food clan to me
(no skyclan yet shush)
Much of this happens once we get to the lake so I might remake this then! Thanks for the question

I had a breakdown earlier because I've been so overstimulated by people and I'm not reaching basic goals like "clean room over break" even though the break in reference was summer break and i'm nearly done with winter break. and i have alot of other things i gotta do to but every time i'm surrounded by people their emotions and issues and wants and needs are pasted over mine and i forget everything. i have finally stopped going out of my way to cater to unreasonable demands or expectations, like, it's not my job to make someone happy when they can't even use their words like a grown up, but since they'll still sigh and snap and do anxious things around me i'm still being totally overcome by their shit energy
so anyway ive been getting increasingly stressed
and i broke down and said i didnt want to socialize i didnt want to go to amtgard i didn't want to go to the store i didn't want to go back to work i just want to do nothing and be able to have a clear fucking thought, and that i dont have a rewards center in my brain the way most people do so finishing tasks doesnt make me feel relief.
and i brought up that my room being a mess makes me stressed every day and adds to my misery and i hate that i can't even figure out how to do that and even when i do that i'm still not even fully moved in here and so a clear room means space for living room stuff to clutter it, and then a clear living room means space for garage stuff to clutter it, and people keep giving me shit i dont need or want and it keeps building and i keep building piles of random shit arou d me and i can't even do the basics of tidying and my husband said he'd help and i started crying and said i didn't want to make him do everything for me.
and my husband said that he doesn't want to be disabled either, and he knows i would do it if i could, because obviously i care about it even if it isn't rewarding, and that it will make my life easier even if i don't feel like i succeeded by it being clean because it's making my life worse messy.
and he said he doesn't mind doing the things i struggle with for or with me, because i do the things he struggles with for or with him, and we can work together and also i do that other thing he likes which makes it all worth it anyway.
and my dudes, i have the best frickin husband in the world. i've spent my entire life not understanding why i work harder than everyone around me and get less done, and this person comes in and is helpful and actually shares a workload with me, my workload, and doesn't resent me for it. he cooks my meals and washes the dishes and helps me with nearly everything in my life. and i drive us all over the state so he can be in tourneys and i talk to people about his knighting and make sure that he has his medication and talk him through his rough patches too. and i love him unconditionally, and he loves me unconditionally. and we make sure to set time aside to be alone together and talk and cuddle every night even when he isn't staying in my room with me or is staying up for a few more hours and has stuff to do. and he takes care of our cats and i adopt more cats and pay their vet bills while he feeds them and waters them and teaches them life skills.
he's the best. and i feel so much better because we had this talk.

Chapter 10 -
Summary: In December, the pace quickens with a flurry of hockey games, work commitments, a bit of Christmas shopping, more work, and lively snowball fights;
Tags; William NylanderxOfc; “We never go out of style”
Author's Note: So, these chapters are growing a tad, but I can't help it; my imagination is on a run, I think (Sorry, not sorry); and I had a dream about a snowball fight with Willy, so, naturally, I had to include it; I hope you’ll enjoy this chapter! 😉
Words: 6.1K

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas."
As the Sunday morning light slowly crept in, Julia stirred from her slumber, disturbed by the gentle nudging of Pablo at her feet. It took her a few moments to orient herself, but as she blinked away the remnants of sleep, a warm smile spread across her face. Nestled in the comfort of William's guest room, she had slept like a baby, and it seemed the two furry companions, Pablo and Banksy, had kept her company through the night.
Before tending to her morning routine and slipping into her clothes from yesterday, Julia couldn't resist capturing a snapshot of the dogs snuggled up in the bed and sending it to William. And as she made her way to the bathroom, she mentally thanked herself for always being prepared having a small bag with basic essentials and an extra pair of knickers in her bag. Then with the dogs fed and exercised during their morning stroll, she returned to the condo and indulged in a well-deserved morning coffee while responding to William's message.
Wonka: God morgon, hjärtat 😉 how did you sleep?
JJ: God morgon 😊 I swear it's been ages since I last had such a peaceful night's rest - how about you?
Wonka: I slept alright but we had to get up early to hit the road… 🥱
JJ: Early mornings have never been your forte 😂
Wonka: Nope, and they never will be! 😂
JJ: Perhaps that's why you're always fashionably late to most things? 😂
Wonka: That might just be the trick, babe! 😂
JJ: Anyway, the fur babies are fed and have had their morning walk, so I'll be heading out soon enough 😊
Wonka: Awesome! You're a lifesaver JJ ☺️
JJ: I know 😊 but it's my pleasure
After finishing her coffee, Julia said goodbye to the doodles and made her way home. She had just enough time to shower and get dressed before she’d meet up with Charlie and Clara for a lunch date. Making sure she’d remembered everything, she closed the door behind her, though she knew she’d come back soon enough later in the evening.
_
Monday came around, and Julia just paid a brief visit to the dogs, ensuring they were well and in good spirits. However, the following Tuesday marked another away game, and she found herself back on the familiar sofa at William's place, accompanied by the cheerful company of the dogs. With a rather delicious meal cooked (if she had to say so herself), her work laptop, and a warm blanket she was all set for face off. And the match turned out to be a massive victory for the Leafs against the Dallas Stars, securing an impressive 4-0 result. It was a game to remember, with the team firing on all cylinders and delivering a dominating performance.
Julia couldn't contain her joy and leaped in exhilaration, the dogs following suit with their boundless energy, and following the match, she had a quick post-game chat with William.
And before they knew it, the boys were back in Toronto, riding high on the wave of their success. The win had undoubtedly boosted their confidence and left fans eagerly anticipating the next game. The atmosphere in the locker room must have been electric after such a convincing victory, and the Leafs were proving once again why they were a force to be reckoned with in the league.
 _
Thursday 8th - TOR 5 - LAK 0
On this cold Thursday evening in December, Julia found herself at the home game in the company of Andrew and Tyler. Andrew had been swamped with work, and initially, he wasn't too keen on leaving the office for a hockey game. However, Julia recognised his need to take a break and unwind, and she convinced him to join her, which turned out to be just what he needed, and he appreciated Julia's care and thoughtfulness. As for Tyler, he was simply thrilled to be attending a hockey game.
Tyler had become a massive fan of William ever since their Halloween night adventure, and his enthusiasm had only grown after William had taken him for the special private training session. And as they settled into their seats at the game, the young boy's excitement was palpable. Even though he was just shy of eight years old, Tyler's passion for hockey knew no bounds. He eagerly rattled off hockey stats, player information, and game tactics as if he were a seasoned pro.
And as the game began, Tyler’s attention, as well as Julia’s and Andrew’s, was fully captured. The match was fast paced, the arena buzzing with excitement, and the Maple Leafs took control right from the start. The atmosphere was electric as the Leafs scored an impressive 5 goals, while the Kings remained at a frustrating zero.
And following the match, the usual group of partners and friends gathered outside the locker room, excitement filling the air.
While waiting for the players to finish their post-game showers and media obligations, Tyler's excitement was evident as he chattered away about the match.
"I swear this boy has to become a sports commentator," Julia joked, leaning slightly into Andrew, who responded with an agreeing laughter.
The hallway of the Scotiabank Arena was filled with high spirits after the convincing victory, with laughter and lively conversations permeating the air.
And as the rest of the players emerged from the locker room, exchanging smiles and energetic greetings with friends and families, William's laughter was unmistakable as he made his way toward Julia and her companions for the evening.
"Hey Willy!" Tyler exclaimed with unbridled excitement.
"Hey buddy," William warmly embraced the young boy in a hug, his handsome face sporting a wide grin as he fully embraced the role of Tyler's role model and favourite Leafs player. "How have you been? Have you been practicing real good?"
"Yes! I've also scored in almost every game," Tyler proudly shared, his eyes filled with pride and glory as he described the tricks that William had taught him.
As the young boy's storytelling came to an almost breathless conclusion, Julia couldn't help but chuckle and smile. She found it incredibly endearing how good William was with his young fans and how much he loved and cared for them.
"Well, that sounds great, buddy," William applauded Tyler, before turning his attention to the blonde woman in front of him. "And how have you been?" His smirk added a playful touch to his question.
"Busy but good, thank you for asking," Julia replied with a warm smile.
"You've enjoyed my condo?" William's question was laced with a smug satisfaction, as he was well aware of the answer.
Julia, however, didn't want to give him the complete satisfaction. "Maybe..." she teasingly replied, earning a light chuckle from the Swede.
“I get it - it’s a nice place.”
They both shared a heartfelt moment of joy, basking in their connection, before William was called over to greet the numerous young fans who were eager to meet their idols, snap photos, and secure autographs. True to form, he welcomed them with his characteristic wide smile and boundless energy.
As the night progressed and the fans gradually left the area, the players, along with their partners and friends, gathered to chat about their Christmas plans. Everyone was super excited about the upcoming holiday however it seemed that the players’ schedule was rather packed. Nonetheless, it didn’t stop those around them to plan events and gatherings in between games and training sessions.
All the women had already made plans to go Christmas shopping while the guys were occupied, giving them the freedom to enjoy their time together.
As the night drew to a close, Tyler said his goodbyes to his hockey heroes, and Andrew took him home, knowing the young boy would drift off to sleep with dreams of an incredible evening. William, the true gentleman that he was, kindly offered Julia a ride home, an offer she gladly accepted. During the tranquil drive, soft Christmas tunes played through the car's speakers, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
The two friends shared laughter about the evening's game and their heart-warming interactions with the young fans.
"You know, you're pretty amazing with the fans, Willy," Julia complimented as they neared her building, earning a playful smirk from William.
"Well, I'm just trying to impress you, JJ."
Julia chuckled, "I must say, you're doing a pretty good job."

Saturday, 10th - TOR 5 - CGL 4 (OT)
The following Saturday evening, Julia found herself in the upscale ambiance of a high-end restaurant, her leg trembling subtly beneath the table as the attentive waitress served the delectable main course. Seated with Andrew, his boss, and one of the firm's most distinguished investors, Marcus Kirkland, the renowned Canadian investor known for both his financial acumen and bachelor status, the evening was meant to be all about business and fine dining. However, despite the mouth-watering dishes and the sophisticated atmosphere, Julia's mind was far from the elegant dinner in front of her.
The Toronto Maple Leafs were facing off against the Calgary Flames in a highly anticipated home game, and her heart raced with excitement at the thought of it. As the conversation drifted away from business and towards a more casual tone, Julia couldn't resist the temptation to eavesdrop on the animated discussion taking place at the neighbouring table. Two middle-aged men were immersed in a lively conversation about the game, sharing their expectations and predictions.
And her distraction did not go unnoticed by Andrew, who seemed to read her like an open book. Casually leaning in, a mischievous glint in his eye, he whispered, "Maybe if we speed through dessert, I can distract them, and you can hurry to the game," earning a light chuckle from Julia. She appreciated the jest, though secretly hoped he wasn't entirely kidding, considering the puck had just dropped.
As the seconds ticked away and Julia took occasional sips of the expressive and utterly delicious Bourgogne wine, her nerves threatened to become unbearable. The two men at the neighbouring table discussed the seesaw nature of the match: the Leafs had managed to score the first goal, only for the Flames to tie it up. Then came another goal for the Flames, taking the lead. But the Leafs were resilient, with William stepping up to score, bringing it back to a tie. The Flames once again pulled ahead, but just before the end of the second period, William came through to secure another tie. To put it mildly, it was nerve-wracking to listen to, with the game hanging in the balance.
Julia couldn’t help but chuckle under her breath as she found herself acknowledging her inner turmoil. Who would have thought she'd be sitting in a fancy restaurant, her leg trembling with anticipation, eager to attend a hockey game and mentally calculating the score instead of fully indulging in the sumptuous cuisine and fine wine?
So, when Marcus finally broke the casual conversation and expressed his gratitude to the trio of co-workers, Julia's heart quickened with the hope that she might actually catch the third period of the hockey match.
With a final round of handshakes and gracious expressions of thanks, Julia wasted no time. She hurried as best she could in her formal attire, braving the city's snow to hail a taxi. Fortunately, the restaurant wasn’t too far from the arena, and with a quick text to Charlie, she was on the move. As she reached the arena's doors, she quickly purchased whatever ticket was left to enter, and let out a relieved breath as she saw she was just in time to witness the final 13 minutes of the match. The score was once again a 4-4 tie, and as the final seconds ticked away, the arena was filled with anxiousness. However, all that distress was quickly dispelled when Mitch Marner scored in overtime after just 43 seconds, making the arena burst into cheers and shouts for the Leafs.
After the heart-pounding evening, Julia finally had a moment to calm down and let her heart return to its natural rhythm. She made her way to meet with Charlie and the rest of the girls, entering the hallway by the locker room, and she found herself amidst an electrifying atmosphere. Smiles stretched wide on everyone's faces, and the air was filled with laughter and the players' boisterous banter.
Navigating through the crowd, Julia made her way to William, who quickly noticed her, and he playfully jogged over to her and swept her up into a tight hug.
"I didn't think you'd make it," William cheerfully admitted with a wide grin. "Didn't you have a work thing?" He asked as he put her back down.
Julia's face mirrored his broad smile as she offered a light chuckle. "Well, yes, I did, but for some peculiar reason, hockey seems to have become more important to me," she laughed.
"Well, I get that," William replied, his voice softening a tad, their eyes locking in a moment.
"Just wouldn't miss it for the world," she chuckled. "And first star? Sounds like you actually made an effort tonight," she teased William, earning a light chuckle from the Swede.
They stood close, sharing a silent moment, their connection palpable among the other couples celebrating the victory. But their moment was soon interrupted by a boisterous voice.
"Damn, JJ!" Rasmus chimed in as he joined the two friends. "Aren't you a bit overdressed for a hockey game?" He playfully pointed out Julia's fitted pantsuit, heels, elegant hairdo, and striking makeup.
"What do you mean?" she retorted sarcastically. "I simply thought it was 'dressed to impress' night."
"Well, I'm sure you're impressing most people here, I know at least one," he cheekily winked, subtly referring to William. Though the comment passed with a chuckle, and William simply smiled before his friend moved along.
The chatting went on among the large groups of friends, and the girls quickly stroke up the conversation about their Christmas shopping spree they’d done during the day.
"I'm really sorry, sweetie, that you couldn't make it today," Charlie spoke in a gentle tone, offering Julia a friendly smile. She had been spending a lot of time with the other wives and girlfriends lately, and had been feeling a tad guilty about it. However, Julia quickly reassured her that she didn't mind at all and expressed her happiness at seeing Charlie bond so well with the team's partners.
So, she simply chuckled. “Oh, that’s ok - you know what they say; when your boss asks you to work on a weekend, you say yes because he pays you well and you kind of need the money,” she joked, earning a laugh from the girls.
"Maybe some other time, then?" Charlie responded with a smile.
"Absolutely," Julia agreed, and they shared a warm hug before resuming their conversation.
However, William couldn't help but express a little sympathy for his dear friend, hearing she had missed out on the girls' shopping trip.
"You didn't get to go Christmas shopping?" he asked.
Julia gently shook her head, "No, I had to work all day yesterday… and today… and the same goes for tomorrow." She wore a small, resigned smile. "But I managed to take Monday off, so I'm hoping to make some time to visit a market."
William felt a touch of disappointment on her behalf. He knew how much Julia loved this time of year, and he wanted her to have as much fun as the others. Although he might not be the biggest enthusiast about Christmas, he appreciated the festive atmosphere and the joy it brought to his friends.
"How about we go together?" he then suggested, offering her a warm smile.
"Really? You’d do that?" Julia's eyes sparkled with excitement, and a broad grin lit up her face.
William couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm. "Sure, why not? I'm not the best at Christmas shopping, but maybe you can give me a hand. I’ll come and pick you up."
"Deal!" Julia exclaimed with delight.
_
And on Monday, as arranged, William showed up to pick up Julia for their trip to the town market. However, when she opened the front door, he couldn't help but notice the redness in her eyes, as if she had been crying a bit.
"Hey, what's going on?" he inquired, stepping into her home.
"Oh, it's nothing," she responded with a slight smile as she put on her shoes and coat. "Just give me a moment to finish up – I'll be ready in a second."
"It doesn't seem like nothing, JJ," William persisted, his concern evident. "Come on, you can talk to me."
But Julia just chuckled softly. "It's really not a big deal, Willy. I've just been up all night, Face Timing with my dad while we watched England play football at the World Cup." She paused to examine her friend, who still appeared worried. "I miss him a lot, Willy... that's all – and it's just a bit tougher this year because I'm all by myself – single, and far from my family," Julia explained with a gentle smile and a soft tone.
William wasn't entirely convinced but decided to let the matter drop with a nod and a sigh as Julia was almost ready to leave. He understood how challenging it must be for her, with the breakup with her fiancé this year and a whole new city with new friends and no family around for the holiday season. However, not wanting to delve deeper and stir up emotions, he chose to make a playful remark instead.
"I like your jersey, by the way," he said with a grin as he noticed her Harry Kane t-shirt hanging on one of the chairs. "But I prefer it when you wear my name on your back."
Julia couldn't help but chuckle as she grabbed her bag and keys and opened the front door. "Well, if you ever become a professional football player – I promise I'll get a shirt with your name on it."
And as they made their way to the market, Julia couldn't resist adding some festive cheer to the car ride by playing some classic Christmas bangers.
"So, you’ve got any favourite Christmas songs?" she inquired, to which William simply shook his head. "Come on, there must be one you like?" She grinned, infusing the car with her holiday spirit.
But William remained nonchalant. "Honestly, I've never been a big fan of Christmas music."
"Oh, my goodness," Julia playfully exaggerated her surprise. "You're a Grinch, aren't you?"
William chuckled, offering a defence. "I'm not a Grinch. I've just never been big on Christmas, you know."
Julia brushed it off with a laugh. "Well, fortunate for you, I've got enough Christmas spirit for both of us." Then she began singing along to the songs, and William, catching the mood, joined in when he knew the words.
Upon arriving at the market, they wandered through the snow-covered scene, savouring the delightful scents of candies and hot chocolate. Fortunately, there weren’t many people there due to it being a weekday, so it was nice and quiet, beside the carols all around. While enjoying their leisurely stroll, they chatted about their childhoods in Scandinavia, sharing Christmas memories and much more.
Their conversations covered a wide range of topics, occasionally pausing to peruse the various items, as Julia was on a mission to find some Christmas decorations for her new place since her recent move.
"You know," William began in a soft voice, "a lot of the players were actually really touched by your offer to join your Christmas evening," he said, flashing a warm smile.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that," Julia replied. "I just want everyone to have a wonderful Christmas – it's a holiday that means a lot to me, and I guess I just really want to spread some joy and happiness… especially with all the challenges going on in the world."
William couldn't help but admire Julia's spirit. Her heart was brimming with love and care, and he found himself unable to contain his smiles as they strolled through the market.
"Oh, this is adorable," she suddenly exclaimed with excitement, spotting a collection of small figurines.
Meanwhile, William maintained a constant smile as he observed Julia dart from booth to booth, selecting Christmas decorations in all sorts of shapes and colours. And he had to admit, she had quite a good eye for decorations.
"Alright, I don't think I need much more for today," Julia chuckled. "How about you? Do you need anything?"
She glanced at William, who simply shook his head.
"I've told you, I'm not the biggest Christmas fan."
Julia studied her friend for a moment before sighing. "I'm guessing you don't have any decorations at home at all, do you?"
Once again, he shook his head and chuckled.
"Well, come on, Grinch, we've got a few more booths to check out then before I let you off the hook," she teased, before they continued on their merry way.
A few steps away, Julia's attention was captured by another booth selling Christmas ornaments, particularly one that she found beautiful. "Oh, this is gorgeous,” she commented as she held the ornament in her hand, turning it to examine it closely. It depicted a serene white and blue harbour scene with delicate gold text that spelled 'Merry Christmas.' The tiny details in the ornament, from the miniature ships in the harbour to the glittering snow on the rooftops, made it look like a miniature winter wonderland. For some reason, it evoked memories of Copenhagen, her place of birth, where she had spent many memorable Christmases.
However, upon closer inspection, her enthusiasm faded. "Oh, it's not as charming as I thought.”
William couldn't help but chuckle, intrigued by her sudden change of heart. "Why's that?" he inquired, picking up the ornament and letting out an amused "oh" as he glanced at the price tag, realising she might find it a bit pricey for a piece of Christmas decoration.
However, in his playful and helpful way, he simply chuckled and handed it to the vendor across the table. "We'll take it," he said with a wide grin.
"Willy!" Julia exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise.
"What?" he shrugged, grinning. “I’ve got it. Let's consider it my Christmas decoration splurge for the year." He offered her a friendly smile as he made the payment and handed the small bag to Julia to carry. "Although, it'd probably look a lot better at your place, alongside the rest of the decorations."
With a mischievous wink, he managed to elicit another laugh from Julia. "You're an idiot.”
"Yeah, but a lovable idiot,” he quipped.
Julia thanked the man at the booth just before he chimed in. "You've got a great boyfriend there," he said with a friendly smile.
"Oh no," Julia objected with a light chuckle, feeling a hint of awkwardness due to the man's remark. "He's not my boyfriend..." William joined in on the surprised chuckle, and Julia continued, "We're just friends."
The man simply smiled and then corrected himself. "Well, in that case, you've got a great friend."
"I know," she returned a friendly smile before the two friends continued to explore the final part of the market, filled with laughter and joy. And before they knew it, they had completed their delightful stroll, Julia’s hands full of small shopping bags.
"So, what's the plan now?" Julia pondered as she continued walking, unaware of the fact that William had paused just a few steps behind. "Fancy grabbing a hot drink or something?" she called out to the quiet surroundings.
But before she received a response, a swift, chilly surprise made contact with her back, and she let out a startled shriek. A snowball, expertly aimed by William, had found its mark. "Oh, no you didn’t!” she exclaimed, her voice a delightful blend of playfulness and mock outrage. She spun around, her cheeks flushed with the cold, her eyes a mixture of bewilderment and mock sternness. However, all she was met with was William's hearty laughter as he prepared to craft another snowball.
Amidst laughter and the sounds of their friendly snowball battle, Julia swiftly dropped her shopping bags. She scooped up a handful of pristine snow and was just about to launch her own snowball at William when his second shot smacked her shoulder.
In response, she retaliated with a well-aimed shot that hit him squarely in the face, leaving him momentarily stunned. Her eyes danced with triumph as she celebrated her successful assault, her laughter mingling with the pure, wintry ambiance.
But as William snapped out of his momentary surprise, he leaped forward with a laugh. The chase was on, and they were like carefree children in this winter wonderland. Julia made a dash for a large patch of untouched snow, leaving her bags behind as she giggled, her boots crunching the snow beneath them.
Naturally, William outpaced her, and soon caught up, pelting her with snow as she did her best to fight back. Their laughter was a harmonious symphony, and in the midst of their spirited battle, Julia ended up with her hands on her own face, wiping away the snow that had inadvertently ended up there. William seized this moment of distraction and playfully grabbed her by the waist and tossed her into the soft snow. As a defence, she pulled him down alongside her, and as they both landed in the fluffy snow, he ended up on top of her. Then the world seemed to pause for a moment as they lay there, the cold seeping through their clothes but their hearts warmed by the sheer joy of the moment. Their shared laughter faded into contented smiles as they caught their breath.
But as the seconds passed, a man behind William cleared his throat, breaking the spell of their playful entanglement.
"Are you alright, miss?" the man asked, and William quickly got to his feet, facing a stern security guard who had been alerted by the commotion and wanted to ensure it was all in good fun.
"Oh, yes, sir, I'm fine," Julia reassured, her rosy cheeks evidence of the fun she'd been having. William extended a helping hand to get her back on her feet beside him. "We were just messing about."
The guard, a hint of a smile playing on his lips, nodded and left the still-laughing friends.
“Shit,” William chuckled, brushing snow off his clothes.
Julia joined in his chuckle but then exclaimed, "Oh fuck… I'm absolutely drenched..."
"Yeah, me too..." William couldn't stop laughing, and as Julia gathered her bags, they leisurely strolled back towards his car. "So, how about dinner at my place?" William suggested, and Julia playfully turned to look up at him.
"You're always thinking about food, aren't you?” she casually teased. “But I think I really need to go home and take a shower after this," she added with a soft chuckle.
"You can just shower at my place?" William casually suggested, a soft smirk on his face, which for some reason made Julia smile. How could he always act so nonchalant, she wondered.
"Uhm, sure, if you don't mind," she timidly replied.
"Why would I suggest it if I minded?" he chuckled as they reached the car, and Julia stashed the bags in the boot before settling into her usual spot in the passenger seat, quickly checking her makeup in the mirror.
"Oh, shit..." she exclaimed. "I look like a fucking raccoon, Willy!”
William took the driver's seat, adopting a playful tone. "Why are you blaming me for that?" he quipped as he turned to his friend, with a hearty laugh.
"Because you started the bloody snow fight!"
William chuckled again. "Well, at least you're a pretty raccoon. Besides, you have to admit, it was a fun snowball fight."
Julia joined in his laughter. "It certainly was!"
And with the car once again filled with more Christmas songs, they drove to William's place, both eager for a warm shower and the chance to snuggle up on the sofa.
Upon arriving at William's place, Pablo and Banksy welcomed them by the front door, and while they both wanted nothing more than to pet the sweet little ones, Julia was desperate to change out of her soaked clothes.
"How about I take them out for a quick walk while you hop in the shower?” William suggested with a soft smile, and Julia simply nodded with an ‘okay’, mirroring his smile. "You know where everything is?" he added with a chuckle.
"Yes, Willy, I know where everything is.”
And as William closed the front door behind him and took the dogs outside, Julia fetched a towel and made her way to the guest bathroom.
Allowing the warm water to cascade over her body, Julia closed her eyes and surrendered to the soothing embrace of the steam. Her body slowly thawed from the icy chill of the snow that William had playfully introduced her to. And as her mind began to wander, she reflected on the wonderful day they'd shared, the sweetness of him gifting her that ornament she adored, the laughter that had accompanied their leisurely stroll, and the fun of their snowball fight. She couldn't help but replay the memory of how he playfully wrapped his arms around her and sent them tumbling into the soft, fluffy snow, ending up incredibly close.
Lost in her thoughts, she smiled under the warm water, blissfully unaware of William's return to the condo. Hearing the sound of the running water he casually made his way into the steam-filled bathroom, where he couldn't help but chuckle as he observed Julia standing there with her eyes closed.
"Enjoying yourself?" he asked, playfully peeking his head inside the shower, his mischievous grin causing Julia to jump and hastily open her eyes.
"Willy! You've got to stop startling me," she exclaimed, but her reprimand was met with continued laughter from William. "Get out, you twat," she added, though she couldn't keep a straight face as they both shared a hearty laugh, and William made his exit from the bathroom.
As Julia stepped out of the shower, she couldn't help but notice that William, during her quick rinse, had thoughtfully placed a Maple Leafs t-shirt and a pair of joggers on the bathroom counter. A smile naturally crept across her face as she got dressed and then headed to the living room, where she found William shirtless, energetically exploring the contents of the fridge. His impressively fit physique was not lost on her, although she kept her thoughts to herself.
"I didn't know we wore the same size joggers?" she playfully inquired, joining him in the kitchen.
William chuckled at her comment. "To be fair, they belong to my sister," he confessed, his smile shining. "She left them here, and I've just had them in the closet."
"Well, then please remind me to thank your sister for leaving them here for me to borrow," Julia said with a warm smile.
"Will do," William replied, a soft grin on his face. "Anyways, I'll take a quick shower as well, while you choose a movie and get some snacks ready?"
"Sure, but I thought we were having dinner?" she smiled.
"We'll grab some takeout later. Go ahead and find us a movie," William brushed off her practical suggestion with a casual wave.
"Oh no, don't give me that kind of power," Julia chuckled. "I'll just pick something like Harry Potter, even though I've watched it like a million times," she added. But when she saw the slightly perplexed expression on William's face, her laughter subsided. "What? You've never watched Harry Potter?" she asked in disbelief.
"It's not really my kind of genre..." William attempted to defend himself.
"Oh, dear... I really think I need to reconsider this whole friendship of ours, darling," Julia playfully feigned a disappointed look, causing William to burst into laughter.
"Well, I guess there's a first time for everything – why don’t you just go and put it on."
Julia paused for a moment, offering him a sweet smile.
"Willy, we don't have to watch it if you don't want to."
"JJ, why would I say yes to watching it if I didn't want to," he rhetorically asked.
"Alright," she simply replied, and William then made his way to the bathroom.
While he took his shower, Julia busied herself with gathering snacks and preparing the sofa. She draped a couple of blankets over it and found the movie on one of his numerous streaming services. And of course, following suit, the dogs came to join her.
A wide smile spread across William's face as he re-entered the living room and found all three of them cosily snuggled on the sofa. Taking his place right next to Julia, he wrapped himself in the blankets, drawing a slightly questioning look from her.
"What? We have to sit close so we can share the snacks," he chuckled. "By the way, how many snacks do we even have here?" he asked, noticing the assortment of popcorn, Gifflar, and gummy bears.
"Well..." Julia admitted with a touch of nervousness, "I've sort of eaten most of your snacks while you were on the road, so I had to restock – and perhaps I went a little overboard."
“A little?” William chuckled, but then simply shook his head before he pulled her closer and pressed play on the film. "I'm just glad you're comfortable here," he almost whispered, his gaze soft as he looked at his friend beside him.
Julia met his gentle expression and returned the smile. "Me too."
As the movie played, William found himself surprisingly engrossed in it, though he couldn't quite pinpoint whether it was the enchanting film that filled him with warmth and comfort, the exhaustion from their adventurous day, the holiday spirit in the air, or simply the pleasant company of Julia.
However, about halfway through the movie, the growling in William's stomach became increasingly persistent, prompting them to order some proper takeout. So, they relished their meal for the remainder of the film, and by the end, they were both on the brink of falling asleep, their tummies content and warmed by the blankets.
"Mm..." Julia softly mumbled. "I really need to get going." She glanced at the clock. It wasn't particularly late, but the darkness had enveloped them, and the unmistakable sound of rain was tapping against the windows.
"Just stay here," William casually suggested, punctuating his words with a yawn.
"I can't, I've got work in the morning," she replied with a smile, her expression slightly pouting.
"Alright, then..." William reluctantly heaved himself up from the sofa. "I guess I'll have to drive you home," he sighed.
"Or you can just lend me your car," Julia playfully suggested, only to be met with an arched eyebrow from William.
"How about you take Pablo and Banksy with us and then go for a walk when you return, two birds, one stone," Julia cheekily proposed, secretly longing to snuggle up with Pablo in the passenger's seat.
"Oh, that's quite a clever idea, isn't it?" William chuckled. "But that actually doesn't sound like a bad plan."
Julia laughed lightly before heading to the bathroom to check on her clothes, which unfortunately weren't entirely dry yet.
"You can just wear what you're wearing right now," William suggested as he followed her into the bathroom. "Just give it back whenever," he shrugged.
Julia offered him a sweet, grateful smile before getting dressed to leave. Despite looking a bit comical in her cosy outfit and high boots, she was grateful for the gesture.
During the ride to her place, the speakers once again played soft Christmas songs, and the atmosphere between the two friends was comfortable and relaxed. And as they arrived at their destination, they both turned to face each other.
“Thank you for today, Willy,” Julia spoke softly. “It truly meant a lot to me.”
“Well, I had a lot of fun as well,” he replied with a soft smile. “I just want you to have a good Christmas here, JJ – I know it’s not easy being away from your family, so I guess I’m just trying to help.”
Julia couldn’t help but being moved by his words. William had a habit of acting all cool and tough when he was out on camera, but when he was with close friends, he’d always be extremely caring and sweet.
“You’re doing an amazing job, Willy… I really do love spending time with you, and it means more to me than you realise.”
The two of them shared another moment of soft intimacy, before Julia made her move to hug him goodnight, bid her farewell to the doodles, and exited the car to grab her bags and rush to the apartment building.

Happy Friday all! I need a mood boost and y'know... I was thinking, we love putting Woodrow through even more suffering around here, so why not imagine some happiness for him!
Therefore I decided to write out some cozy loving headcanons for my favorite rabbid crackship. The story I'm writing is about how they meet and come to know each other, fraught with pining and angst, but below are some imaginings of them as an established couple, nice domestic fluff and why I think they'd make such a good pair. Enjoy some soft artsy bunnies today if you would like!
I present to you.... Happy Phandrow Things!!
Phantom is very well off due to being a celebrity musician, and still has plenty of funds after losing his singing prowess. Woodrow is.... a poor poet who has always barely scraped by (have you seen his house?). So Phantom loves pampering his darling in every single way he can, buying him things, taking him to fancy restaurants, going to plays and musicals and operas with him. Woodrow is kind of dazzled and overwhelmed by all this as Tom was really excessive about it at first, and eventually it evens out as they both realize they enjoy the quiet moments with each other most of all. (Phantom is still pretty indulgent and they still go out together very often though; Woodrow used to basically never get off Palette Prime but now he does.)
Also they don't NEED to go out to have a really nice meal, because Phantom is actually a talented chef (as we can assume from that one puppet video)- this was mainly a new hobby he took up to cope with the damage to his voice, and now he loves cooking for his poet who can't cook for himself, because Woodrow cooking is. A bad idea. A really bad idea.
Due to his spooky ghost nature, Phantom would be basically nocturnal if not for having had to adjust to other people's schedules. As it is, he usually stays up really late and sleeps really late into the day and his peak energy hours are twilight into around midnight. Woodrow meanwhile is very attuned to nature and is an "up when the rooster crows" type of person. However he also stays up pretty late due to just having insomnia and difficulty sleeping so he doesn't sleep all that much, period. Or he used to not, anyway. Having someone to fall asleep with has helped in this regard so he has been sleeping better since being with Phantom.
On that note, they often do stay up late discussing art and poetry and writing and theatre until one of them falls asleep, 90% of the time it's Woodrow first falling asleep in Tom's arms, who carries him to bed and takes off his glasses etc and snuggles in with him.
This would go for pretty much anyone you'd ship him with but Phantom is totally the Gomez Addams "kiss up the arm and cover them with kisses" type, but because Woody has such long arms and is a long boy in general he has a lot of real estate to work with here-
Phantom has a massive collection of different pet names in different languages, different ways to say darling/beloved/sweetheart etc and is always changing it up. For Woodrow he especially likes calling him variations of "my lucky one" or "my good luck charm" in different languages (i.e. portafortuna in Italian). He is constantly telling Woodrow how lucky he considers himself that he gets to be with such a wonderful poet even despite the misfortune that may happen to them, and this is very very validating to Woodrow, as this is a total reversal of how he had always viewed his existence.
Phantom is very resilient due to his spectrality and just being a big tough boy (he was a boss, gosh dang it!) and in fact can still make himself totally invulnerable with enough effort. So he is indeed a very ideal person to put up with all the caveats that come with dating a jinxed person, and can usually laugh off the way he himself is affected, and also help protect and heal/nurture his poet from things happening to him. Woodrow sort of sees him as a guardian angel. An Angel of Music, you might say!!
Woodrow doesn't think of himself as a good singer, but this is largely based on when he was younger and a normal-sized Rabbid, when he had a different voice that he wasn't very fond of in general. He has a deeper voice now but has never really tried to sing much with it, and Phantom coaches him to become a better singer. This at first helps Tom deal with his own damaged voice as he is able to pass a bit of his skill onto someone he loves. When/if he is able to get his voice back, they duet; it's not as stunning and impressive as him and Bea's but it's very lovely all the same.
