#I am thankful and grateful for today

Today's dump, in order:

I was gifted this beautiful green dress from the 80s that belonged to my grandmother (it has pockets)

I found a magical stick with vines intertwined with it and it looks magnificent

A crow was sitting on that tree for quite some time, directly in front of my window

The plant that I repotted and took care of just yesterday bloomed for the first time in weeks

Satoru Gojo goes to the same cafe every day for his coffee-flavored confectionary beverage. You are the barista tasked with pumping his drink with the unreasonable assortment of syrup squeezes.

You don't blink at it. You've been in customer service forever. Everything is second nature to you. But you give him a look when you hand him a drink and he just starts going.

He likes to make small chat, you learn. About meaningless things - desserts, drinks, the weather - but he makes you laugh, and he laughs at your jokes, too. He's smiling every time you talk.

He's beautiful - in that way that makes you uncertain if he's really there - and friendly, and he seems a bit lonely, eager to converse.

Something tells you Satoru probably doesn't have a lot of close friends. He's rich, too, judging by the massive tips he leaves you.

The thing is, you do a lot of things on autopilot. It's just the way these things get after a while. Pouring drinks, "What would you like today?", "I'll have that out for you soon!", "Have a nice day!", all that stuff.

Sometimes, though. Sometimes. Wires get crossed.

He's picked up his drink to leave, giving you a cheeky smile and a little wave, and you tell him, without thinking twice:

"Love you, bye!"

Oh. Oh fucking hell -

"Love you too!"

i know this is old news but like. it is so fucking insane to me that convicted felons — who can qualify in every other way, citizens who are absolutely affected by elections and politics — are not allowed to vote in the united states. like that alone is fucking crazy. and fucked up and VERY intentional and on track for the usa. but still genuinely crazy to actually think about.

but worse is that donald mother god damn fucking trump can still run for president and could be elected while being a convicted felon. like. bro can't vote for himself i guess. but this guy could still legally become the fucking president. HE CANT LEGALLY VOTE IN ELECTIONS ANYMORE. BECAUSE HE IS A CONVICTED FELON.

BUT HE COULD LEGALLY BECOME THE HEAD OF STATE.

I had my post-op appointment today. The doctor said I am recovering beautifully and that “I wish I could take what you have and bottle it and give it to my other patients.” He also said that my cysts were 5 cm and 3 cm, respectively—about the sizes of an orange. Which freaked me out, but also affirmed my belief that I did the correct thing by having them removed from my ovaries. I am just feeling so, so relieved right now…

Okay okay, I'll get sappy and say this...those of y'all (and you're very much included in this my dear morse anon) who respect me as an artist but also as a person...just...thank you so much.

This is gonna sound...terrible...but sometimes I forget that I'm just a person, a human...not a machine or even just 'an artist'. I won't get too into that tho cuz that's ~personal stuff~, but it's a very significant part of why I appreciate those of y'all who respect the person I am, not just the things I can do.

You inspire me so much to just keep going because not only do you support me as an artist and what I love to do, but you support me. So, thank you, all of y'all out there who see the artist, the person, and not just the artwork. I feel so seen, truly 💙✨

Got a very lovely surprise yesterday when I received a delivery of flowers from one of the autism organizations whose Board I am on, with well wishes for my recovery from surgery! I don't think any organization I've been associated with has done something like this for me, and I'm genuinely touched by such a kind, unexpected gesture...

Tomorrow is my birthday! I had quite literally the worst week of my career hours wise last week, and am really struggling to pay all my bills for the week.
