Water ghoul headcanons based on things I learned in my marine biology class!

- Not all ghouls have the ability to produce milk, however the ones who do are closer in anatomy to cetaceans (whales, dolphins, porpoises) and this often means that they actually don't have nipples the same way other ghouls do, as it's hidden behind a mammary slit.

- The deeper the water ghoul comes from, the weirder their anatomy gets. I don't particularly think water ghouls can come from deep sea unless ??? Idk magic??? Cus at some point having bones isn't gonna be fantastic for you if you get too deep. Another thing is maybe smaller water ghouls. I don't think they'd be able to walk particularly quick or walk at all, deep sea creatures typically don't move quickly unless it's a split second thing.

- Additionally, deep sea ghouls on average would probably have a lack of vision if not total blindness and those who could see would lack full color vision. The deeper you get in the water, colors seem to sort of disappear hence why most bioluminescence appears blue.

- Back to upper waters, I can definitely see some types of water ghouls who live together in packs living similarly to killer whales in the sense that different packs have different cultures and different languages and different ways to hunt. I also think it would be super cool if said hierarchies worked the same, with the oldest female being the matriarch and males either joining or staying since they were calves (a good example of this is a 45 year old male killer whale nicknamed Chainsaw who still lives in the same pod he was born in with his mother and little sister.)

- Some male ghouls may look more femme if they live on the reef in order to trick other male ghouls into letting them breed with females, also they can change colors.

- Actually I think a lot of water ghouls could for sure just change their sex over time, it happens in a lot of different species but I think the most famous may be clownfish.

- Some male water ghouls giving birth the same way male seahorses do, I think that's fun.

- I like the implication the fandom has that Rain is actually a freshwater ghoul or just bull sharks his way between fresh and salt water.

The Husbands of River Song

One of the most common questions in the fandom is: "How did Vander and Silco get so far into the river so Vander was able to drown him?". So it got me thinking. When we see Silco as he's being drowned, the right side of his face is already damaged and he also has a little cut on his nose. So, who cut him?

One option is that it was someone we don't know about. Maybe Silco escaped from them by jumping from the bridge into the river. But I don't think it's likely because Vander is completely unharmed, and if Silco got hurt this badly, then he would've been too, because he probably protected Silco all the time due to his physicality. Like, they refer to each other as brothers. And what the stronger brother does when his weaker brother is getting abused? He protects him. So this option doesn't work out.

Now to the second option, which I think is what probably happened. Considering that Vander's knife is in its scabbard when he was drowning Silco, he probably attacked him with it on the shore, then put it away and dragged Silco to the river to such a level where he could drown him. I know that this sounds like 18172728 times more cruel than it was before, but honestly I can kinda believe that. Like somebody said his murder attempt was too calculated to be spontaneous or driven by impulse. It's too convenient. Silco is already a Lot weaker and smaller than him, AND he got wounded IN THE FACE very recently. You can't possibly ask for a better opportunity to finish him right here and now. So yeah. Vander was probably lots more violent and cruel than we believed him to be.

S- She had not questioned Lu Guang's sudden constant presence, happy that Cheng Xiaoshi seemed to have made a permanent friend...

T- The ugly feeling only continued to fester, eventually manifesting itself in Cheng Xiaoshi's builds, turning what could have been beautiful gothic cathedrals topped with massive archways and the tallest spires into barren deserts and clammy, waterlogged dungeons.

The duality of man (of me drawing watcher!scar)

Hi yes I don’t believe I’ve talked about this au before! This is Watcher!Scar aka main character of the River Rushing au, which will have a handful of fics attached to it at some point. (technically already has one but it only has vague ties without the rest of em-) Hes my baby and he has existed for about as long as Wild Life has been over

He’s got griffon vulture wings and has a handful of abilities that mostly pertain to color and flowers (such as turning purple amethyst crystals green; growing flowers wherever he walks)

I will be drawing more of him :D

the final piece in my doctor/river trio: twelve and river! i’m so sad we never got to see more of them together, because peter capaldi and alex kingston had the SWEETEST chemistry. i love that river really did come back into his life when he needed her the most, and taught him how to stay still and live in the moment. i just know they snuck out and stretched those 24 years out as long as they could.
