My only wips that are more or less 50% written are the ChangMu retelling and the Link Click Inception au... so here you go! (⁠｡⁠ﾉ⁠ω⁠＼⁠｡⁠)

N- Not this time, he can't. Changhe has read the scrolls containing Dark River's history, has pieced together the things both said and deliberately left unsaid regarding the Soul Reaping Hall

S- She had not questioned Lu Guang's sudden constant presence, happy that Cheng Xiaoshi seemed to have made a permanent friend...

The crop may seem unorthodox, but I was painting emotions more than just a portrait.

Though this painting does not have a direct reference, I did do a whole bunch of studies in the middle of it (should have done them *before*) to acquaint myself with his features and fix things that didn't look right to me, though. Some mouth studies I did:

The rumors are true! Gong Jun will be playing the Umbrella Ghost, Su Muyu, in the live action 暗河传!

WIP Wednesday

(Because it's still Wednesday somewhere in the world, right?)

Shijiu had always envisioned a life outside of Dark River, that much Changhe knew.

It was a naive dream, one that would've gotten him laughed at by the other Nameless if he had told them, but it is one that Changhe likes to indulge in sometimes, nonetheless. If anyone could achieve that world, it would be Shijiu, he believed.

(Su Muyu, Shijiu had whispered to him one night. Muyu for the rain that fell the night I floated to Dark River after the fall of my family’s birthplace. 

Changhe had turned to him, eyes wide and unblinking as he took in Shijiu’s confession. It was the first time the other boy had ever brought up anything regarding the future. To think that he’d already decided on a name, that meant that he was confident in his chances of surviving the Ghost Wailing Abyss trial, the stupidly naive fool that he was– to admit this to a fellow Nameless– his own competitor, just how much of a fool was he?

But for Shijiu to set his sights on the Su family–

Well.

If Shijiu– if Su Muyu had decided that he was going to live, then that meant that Changhe would have to die).

But as Changhe soon learns, it would be impossible for Su Muyu to lead them to the other shore. A world without Dark River was impossible to achieve without bloodshed, and Su Muyu refused to kill those he considered his own.

They're all family! Su Muyu had declared, back in the ghost wailing abyss trial, doing a commendable job of holding back from killing the other Nameless.

Family? Changhe had scoffed, cutting down all those who Su Muyu left in his wake. They're trying so hard to kill you and you'd still acknowledge them as your family? 

And Changhe had not expected to survive that trial, had been determined to die there if need be, for Su Muyu's survival. 

But, proving that Changhe had indeed placed his faith in the right man, Su Muyu manages to bend the rules of Dark River to his will. 

It wasn’t that much of a surprise– it was exactly that brand of naivety and strength that had drawn him to the boy named Shijiu in the first place. That despite being in Dark River, he would still strive to stick to his principles, his own moral code that differed so much from Dark River’s.

Him approaching Shijiu had been out a mere curiosity, an idle interest to see how long this poor sod could survive in such an environment, but had since grown into something more. Something that Changhe himself dared not examine.

Well, Changhe decides– and it had been an easy decision to make– he would be the one to achieve that dream for Su Muyu.
