when we really examine buck hurting eddie during the basketball game because he wanted eddie's attention it's like. okay. clearly this has roots going back to his childhood where he would hurt himself for attention. but it's a drastic departure because he doesn't hurt himself, he hurts EDDIE. so: is it retaliation? or does buck already feel so hurt he needs to bring eddie to his 'level' so that eddie understands? or is it more that eddie is an extension of himself, so actually it's NOT a departure from his pattern? why does buck hurt EDDIE is the question that really keeps me up like. why did he do that....

What would lighter be like with a reader who has bad insomnia/is a big night owl? I love ur writing btw

i’m a really big night owl but personally, i don’t have insomnia. i do think that he would stay up with you though, listen to whatever’s on your mind or just accompany you as you do some work.

he’d keep himself busy but his eyes flicker to you quite often in the darkness of the room. he’d perk up a little when you’re mumbling to yourself, buried under whatever work you’ve got. he isn’t one to actually bother you but if you called out his name, he’d reply in an instant.

if you’re having difficulty sleeping, suffering from insomnia, i think he’d be more than willing to stay awake with you. maybe not all the time but frequent enough to make sure that you eventually get some rest. his voice is raspy and there are definitely moments where he’s responding to you while half awake but he would stroke your arm gently, hoping it’d help calm you down. small massages, soft whispering, he’s doing everything he can to create an environment that allows your mind and body to wind down and sleep.

he’ll most probably oversleep but as long as you’re getting your rest and he’s the last thing before you close your eyes, then staying up is well worth it to him.
