Hello! First post here, but I wanted to share my thoughts about something in the dragon prince. A lot of spoilers are ahed and sorry for my bad English

Okay, so a lot of people have been saying callum might die in season 7 by rayla, but I don't think rayla would be able to do it, but you know who would soren.

In season 3, soren said before he kills viren

"i am a crownguard, and he is the true king, and I will do whatever is nessacry to protect his life because now I know what the right thing to do is"

And after he kills him

"I had no choice"

This scene proves that soren would do whatever it takes to protect ezran and do the right thing even if it means killing his own father, but what if it was callum instead would killing him really be the right thing to do even if he was possed what if their was no other choice would he just kill callum just like he did with his father?

Now, let's take a look at season 4 images

Notice how he's holding his sword like he's ready to attack as if he knows aaravos might try something with Callum's body, which is why he doesn't let ezran go near him

Now if callum had asked soren instead of rayla in season 4 to kill him, if he tried anything, he would hesitate, but in the end, I'm sure he would agree to it because if it came down to it and their was no other choice he would chose to do the "right thing" which is killing callum if it meant protecting ezran, katolis citizens, his kingdom etc

WARNINGS: i am a new writer, so please let me know about my mistakes. This is also pretty short.

A bead of sweat dripped down my skin as I walked through Lux Aurea, my hand intertwined with Aaravos’s. The gold architecture shimmered in the hot sun. It was crowded that day, plenty of sunfire elves, old and young were all at the market. 

“Perhaps we should get some sunberries, we could bake something together,” Aaravos says with a smile. He reaches out and grabs a couple of the shimmering fruits. As Aaravos was grabbing some fruits, 2 young sunfire elves, a couple feet away, were whispering, glaring at me.

“Why would the fallen star date a weak human? They are unworthy of him,” The taller elf whispers, her golden eyes looking at me judgmentally. I try not to let people's words get to me, I know I am worthy of Aaravos. But their words still hurt. I let out a sigh as Aaravos turned to me.

‘What's wrong, love?’ Aaravos says with his deep voice, his eyes simmering with 

concern. 

“It's nothing, don't worry about it!’ I say, trying my hardest to muster up a smile. Aaravos looks at the sunfire elves and sees their glare. 

“‘What did you two say?” The startouch elf says, glaring at them with hatred. The two girls gasp and run away, not wanting to start something with the ancient elf. Aaravos looks back at me with concern and hugs me tightly, he softly says I love you. 

After that incident we walked home, carrying a basket of fruits that were ready to be baked.

Watching The Dragon Prince Season Six Part Nine: Stardust! The time has come to see if Rayla will make it out of this season with the most parents. I hope so

Oh my god, the way that you can hear the love in Aaravos’s voice as he talks about her… It’s not an emotion don't think I could have pictured on him before this episode but it's so tangible, the voice acting in this episode is incredible. This episode is going to murder me isn’t it.

Also, I like how the terms he's using to describe her could also easily apply to Claudia whom he's trying to get to empathize with him. To connect her own love for her father to his love for his daughter.

Okay, this might be me reading into it but. The way his daughter's hands are held in this picture looks a lot like the way I flap my hands when I stim. Is Aaravos’s daughter maybe neurodivergent? Either way, I love her already, she’s so sweet.

Give Aaravos’s VA an award. The RANGE this man has, spanning from threatening to playful to right here where it’s so soft and sad and full of love for his daughter.

…I am remembering vividly that response from the writers when someone asked if the Startouch child in the intro was a younger Aaravos and they responded that the child was Leola. Oh no. And again, the fact that Aaravos is talking about Leola only in the past tense… I am not ready for this episode oh no. NOTHING HAS EVEN HAPPENED YET AND I’M ABOUT TO CRY.

Also, the animators always do such an amazing job with Aaravos’s expressions. I just. Oh…

Oh, Rayla, honey… I might be wrong but I think that’s the first time Rayla has actually verbally acknowledged Runaan and Ethari as her parents. I know she’s called them her family before but I don’t think she’s called them her parents.

“Those coins will guide you. Each coin contains a fragment of a soul. On the other side, the rest of the soul longs to be whole again, for it cannot pass into death incomplete.”

I like the clarification of what the coins actually do to a person and why they’re worse than death. Because they don’t allow the spirit to achieve peace by passing on or allow them to continue their life, they trap them in between life and death. I also really like that they’re bringing back the stuff from Through the Moon.

The Nova Blade is bigger and heavier than Callum thought it would be. It fits awkwardly in his hand, too large to be wieldy, heavy enough to make his wrist hurt if he holds it outstretched for too long, long enough to run down the length of his back and then some as he and Rayla made their way back to Katolis.

Now, it lies horizontally across his desk, almost the full length of it, the ivory stark and foreboding against the polished grain. He's been sleeping up here recently anyway, because there's so much to do, and it's easier to just stay instead of head down to his room, and at least this way the Nova Blade is in reach, in case—

In case of emergencies.

The others still aren't happy with him. Every conversation he's had with Ez since their return has been clipped and full of tension. Opeli's disapproval is obvious in the way her lips tilt downwards everytime he enters a room. Soren he just avoids, because he hates the sneer, the warnings, and the way Soren looks at him like he's one moment away from turning into the same monster Viren was, which makes him mad more than it makes him feel guilty.

They won't even let him near the pearl, which, he supposes, is for the better, but he doesn't like the way it feels like they don't trust him either. The chamber it's in is locked now, and the key lives on Soren's person who is immune to even Stella's sticky fingers, and all the while, the Nova Blade is there and ready, and if they'd just let him—

"Do you even know how use it?"

Callum scowls. This morning's council meeting is tense for a number of reasons but it's the first formal one they've had since his and Rayla's return. Soren stares him down from the other side of the table, blue eyes icy and hard and unimpressed.

"It's just a sword," bristles Callum. "How hard can it be to stab a thing?"

Soren snorts, which only annoys Callum more. "Feels light and easy to use, does it?"

"I—" Callum scowls. "I can figure it out."

"Like you figured out how to use the hand-and-a-halfs everyone else uses."

Silence. Callum feels his face burn because everyone in the room knows how poorly he handled swords when he was younger, how Soren had tried to coax him into learning more in Rayla's absence only for him to grow impatient and leave before a single lesson had finished. He hasn't touched a blade since—and why should he? He's a mage, and he's never needed a reason to, and he can fight with magic better anyway.

"It's a two handed sword," says Soren. "It's different from the one you used when you were training with me. It's designed to let its weight to do the work. You can't use it like the standard issue swords here or you'll hurt yourself."

Callum scowls again. "Just say what you want to say," he snaps. "I'm not in the mood for another lecture."

"He's saying you should learn how to use it," Opeli cuts in, clearly sensing the danger. "With respect, Prince Callum, you cannot seriously expect to use it against Aaravos if you don't even know how to hold it."

"If there's even a need to use it at all," mutters Ez sourly.

Another pause. Another long moment that Callum uses to scowl at everyone but Rayla, only for Rayla to say, "They're right."

Callum rounds on her but she only shifts uneasily in her seat. "You can't use it against him if you can't use it at all. I know you're worried about his influence over you, Callum, but the best way to make sure you can take him is to learn how to use the only weapon we know will work."

"How am I gonna do that?" grumbles Callum. "Where am I gonna get that kind of instruction?"

One more pause. Everyone turns their heads towards Soren and Callum almost walks out entirely.

"No."

"He's the only one here who can use a greatsword, Prince Callum," points out Opeli.

"Why can't Rayla teach me?"

Soren scoffs. "Her blades aren't even little bit the same."

"Oh, right, and you were such a great teacher when we were kids."

"He's better now," snaps Ez. "You would know that if you'd pulled your head out of your butt enough to learn from him while Rayla was gone. Are you seriously so proud you'd rather go in not having any idea what you're doing?"

Callum scowls at them all a third time. Soren's accusations still ring in his ears, and Soren takes one look and knows that it's all he can hear.

"You don't wanna be like him, right?" he says, a challenge in his voice. "Here's your chance. Admit you don't know. Learn how to use the sword."

"Callum." That's Rayla. She reaches across the table to him and touches his hand. Something in her eyes stalls him: something in amongst the fear and concern that he hopes might be the remnants of what they had two years ago; something that might burn for him still.

He relents.

He starts training with it at dawn.

Aaravos will come out in Season 6 and he will be a big boy - Theory

So I just finished watching Reel James' interview with Aaron Ehasz and there was an interesting part regarding Aaravos (38:30). So Ehasz mentioned how a part of the finale was overlooked by the fandom. I personally noticed it on my first watch but I didn't know what to think of it. Here is the shot he was talking about:

James' theory is that this skeleton is some kind of sea creature that has to do with "swallowing" and to that, Ehasz says he is on the right track. If you go back to the episode however, 2 minutes after this skeleton is shown, we get Aaravos saying this:

Well with this information I came to the conclusion that this is Aaravos' skeleton! Hear me out.

First of all the pearl is positioned on where the heart/chest should be. Is it a little hard to tell so it is either the heart or the star that we see missing on his chest:

Being a Star-touched elf, it would make sense for him to be of this size, which would also allow him to "swallow" people (I am holding myself from making Virravos jokes *hem *hem). That makes him a literal dark hole doesn't it?

Oh and by the way, Ehasz says we will find out about the skeleton next season so if my theory is right, Aaravos is coming out in Season 6. I mean he better... we only got 2 seasons left!

P.S. It is the second time Ehasz makes a joke about the gang playing bowling with the pearl in the beginning of Season 6 (Twitter + Interview). He likes that joke too much for it to be far from reality.

Okay, I can’t post any theories right now, but I’m seeing so many posts talking about the new information and images that have been released recently and what people are thinking will happen in season 7 based off them. And how specifically all these ideas and possibilities pertain to Rayla and Aaravos. And I just want to talk about some of my thoughts really quickly, because I am genuinely so curious about the idea of Aaravos and Rayla interacting with and impacting each other more this season.

I mean, I have a lot of complaints about how they handled Viren’s arc and the amount of potential they built up for him that ultimately didn’t culminate to anything. (You’re allowed to disagree with me, I’m still not ready to vocalize my exact thoughts on his writing this past season and, regardless, this post isn’t really about Viren anyways.) And one of the reasons for my overarching disappointment with the handling of his character was the fact that they hinted multiple times from the Through the Moon graphic novel to season 5 at a possible Rayla and Viren interaction or confrontation in the future, or at least more parallels/foils that we’d get to see between the two of them, that led nowhere.

But, now seeing everyone speculating about what’s been put out so far about this upcoming season finale… Seeing that there’s a chance we might see Aaravos and Rayla play more of an important role in each other’s lives this season, I can’t help but to anticipate what’s going to happen next between these two.

There’s just, so much potential.

Like, with the Rayla and Leola trials and themes of receiving judgement parallels, how Rayla and Claudia act as foils/parallels to each other, how Runaan and Aaravos act as parallels/foils to each other as parents, the whole theme of life and death that plays a big part in Aaravos and Rayla’s stories and in Moonshadow culture.

And, of course. The Rayla and Aaravos paralleled themes with “ripples” and what does justice mean and when is killing justified and can you take life without compromising your own moral character and at what point are you going too far to try to obtain justice that you are just repeating the cycles of the past and what’s the proper way to grieve someone who was unjustly taken away from you, etc., etc. (I honestly could write a whole essay between the numerous ways Rayla, Callum, Aaravos, and Viren all sort of parallel each other.)

Like, I’m legitimately so stoked to see what they decide to do with these two, if anything. And from the looks of it, there seems to be a lot more concrete evidence now to indicate that they will, unlike they ended up doing with Viren and Rayla.

Originally, I would have said the relationship dynamics I was most interested in seeing play out this upcoming season would be Aaravos and Terry and Aaravos and Janai. But now seeing that there might be a chance that Aaravos and Rayla’s arcs will intertwine, I might have to move them up to the top of my list.

Anyway said I wanted to talk about TDP's stage motif so here I am

The stage motif refers to well, references to the stage/theatre in terms of framing, word choice, and general dramatics. It isn't employed often, and I first noticed it upon reading the S2 novelization, in which the text states:

Callum was on a stage, but there was no one in the audience. This bed of keys was a horrible resting place. Sharp pieces of metal poked into Callum’s back. […] He heard an irritating buzz somewhere beneath him. Callum turned the cube frantically to see which primal was glowing. How could any of the primals glow in this dark place?  Something about this cube tied his stomach in knots. It wasn’t natural. A vision flickered in front of his face. Dozens of dead animals in a field. A dead butterfly. A dead deer. A dead unicorn. Cackling laughter. He chucked the cube away from him with all his might. The glowing rune was dark magic. It represented death.

This of course makes sense. Callum's dark magic dreams with a spotlight focused heavily on him easily invoke the visuals of a lone performer on a stage - often there to declare monologues that reveal a character's internal thoughts, feelings, and particularly struggles - much the way the literal visual dive into Callum's brain shows us his thought process in figuratively imaginative language (sort of like poetry).

And in many ways, Aaravos' possession scene in 4x04 is also a monologue (and performance) with even a bow to close the 'scene' out. He even sort of assigns everyone their role - a few lines to define each character before the play begins, the way a director may hand out script information in the casting process. This is also where the stage motif begins to overlap with the game motif; you can play a game, yes, but you can also play a role. Play your part.

Puppets are, after all, inherently performance pieces.

4x04 also complicates this further by tying it to both Rayla's goodbye letter and Viren's speech to Terry:

They said that, sometimes, we make sacrifices so that the ones we love don’t have to. It’s part of protecting them—part of protecting you. Taking on hard choices and going to dark places is an act of love. It’s a gift.

I have always been ready to do anything to protect my family, however dangerous, however vile. In the name of love, you may perform acts so unforgivable... you will never forgive yourself.

With the stage motif coming back in loop with Viren's dream sequences in S5 as well. While his nightmare in the throne room has curtains mostly for the Twin Peaks reference, it still invokes a feeling of performance and insanity that has to be discarded, much the same way Viren has to dismantle his lies (that everything he did was for his family > himself / that he had no choice but to do the things he's done, i.e. "every step" was not because he had to) as we see the spotlight come again. (Fun fact: Viren's is the only one thus far to change from white to red to white again.)

And Finnegrin also brings up aspects/implications of performance in 5x08 as well:

The chains are an illusion. A performance, a ruse, a show. The real thing that keeps everyone in line - under Finnegrin's control - is fear (for themselves, assumedly). Callum tried to assert otherwise, that love and connection are the decided opposite of control:

and Finnegrin called that out as a performance, too, along with his behaviour towards Rayla that proved that love and the desire to protect can also be what controls you.

All that talk about how love makes you stronger, but the second you see that elf girl in pain, you completely lost yourself [it makes you weak].

Lurking underneath the performance is the truth in what makes people tick - their fears, their loyalties, their instincts. And it's these that Aaravos preys upon. It's why he believes they'll fulfil their roles per his predictions. They're his puppets, his performers.

AND YES rayllum gives percabeth, i really really love them. (i have some rayllum art in my blog somewhere) but also rayllum becomes so complex after s3 and through the moon, and despite being in love at an early age you can still feel their individuality in the future seasons and how they can disagree at times. they did not water down neither callum or rayla for the relationship which is something i feel like writers tend to do a lot with ships like this.

Season 5 just came out and I’m so ready to see Callum release Aaravos in order to save Rayla’s parents and wield the Nova blade.

Season Seven Synopsis Breakdown

Aaravos is out in a big way! It’s not too late to catch up on The Dragon Prince before the season 7 culmination and climax of the great fantasy saga. As Aaravos and Claudia seek to destroy the cosmic order and invert life and death, our heroes must literally be ready to sacrifice anything and everything they love and believe in to save the world! This season will be more thrilling, magical, and heartbreaking than ever.

The way this line is phrased makes me unsure whether they're talking about the end of the show, the end of this arc, or just the culmination of what they've spent the last six seasons building towards. Whatever the case #giveusthesaga!!

We knew that this season would be about the war on the Cosmic Order, so this fits with that. The question, then, is whether or not it's a good cause. From what we've seen so far the Cosmic Order doesn't seem especially good. So I think that in Season Seven we're going to spend some time exploring that, which is one of the things I love about The Dragon Prince; it's never in black and white.

I am so ready for whatever this means!! Is Aaravos going to try and bring Leola back? Or is that undoable? Are we going to venture into the world between life and death again? Invert technically means: put upside down or in the opposite position, order, or arrangement. So what effects would inverting life and death have on the world?

This part isn't surprising... but it's still scary. We've been told that Season Seven's theme will be "sacrifice" and the addition of the word "anything" reminds me of a few lines. Lines like "I would do anything for you" and "You do anything for family. However dangerous, however vile." This feels like very intentional phrasing to me, as if they had said "our heroes must literally be ready to sacrifice everything" it would have had the same effect. So including "anything" feels like a callback. And maybe a warning. I'm so excited and terrified for this season!

Finally, the most "thrilling, magical, and heartbreaking" season was, again, a bit of a given. Though including heartbreaking again makes me so worried! I think we should all schedule therapy sessions for after this season.

I'll try to do some more in depth analysis posts as things come out, but these are my initial thoughts!

The Dragon Prince Thoughts Season 5 Episode 1

-i can’t believe i had to wait a whole extra week to watch this this is all i’ve been thinking about i’m so ready

The Dragon Prince: Battle Banter

Revisiting an idea I had were TDP is a fighting game with NetherRealm style prefight dialogue, after playing MK1. Now includes season 4 and 5 characters.

Aaravos: Tomorrow never comes, what makes you think yesterday's gone are any exception.

Aaravos: I'm a master of subtle manipulation.

Callum: Taking over my body wasn't subtle.

Aaravos: Yet, here you are, right where I want you to be.

Aaravos: I know what you're going to ask me.

Viren: How I'm I still here?

Aaravos: I'm curious about that myself...

Finnegrin: Only one way you could've gotten out of those chains, lad.

Callum: You set up your own downfall, Finnegrin.

Finnegrin: This time, I won't bother with the chains.

Nyx: Seriously, Villads the one you want to see about getting the Sea Legs back, not me.

Finnegrin: Nice try, Commadore.

Nyx: Feathers! Should've known that would come back to bite me.

Finnegrin: The Bloodmoon Huntress, and the Pirate Lord.

Kim'Dael: Ours will be a Deadly Partnership.

Finnegrin: Xadia, won't know what hit them.

Rayla: Oh no. The poor wee pirate is going to have to do his own dirty work from now on.

Terry: So, um, we haven't been properly introduced.

Soren: Yeah, kinda hard to do when you wrap someone in leaves.

Terry: Vines actually, not-the-point, my name's Terrestrius, but you can call me Terry.

Terry: Claudia did some messed up things, but she was still so...

Callum: Brilliant, fun, and sweet. Yeah, I've been there too, Terry.

Terry: You really have, haven't you...

Terry: I'm sorry about what Claudia almost did to you.

Ezran: Why did you follow her for so long?

Terry: She was the first to truly accepted me for who I am. I guess that made it harder to see what was happening to her.

Kim'Dael: One you had no means of actually fulfilling.

Karim: I would have, had you not abandoned me!

Janai: Do you even realise what you are doing?

Karim: I am saving our people from your folly, sister.

Janai: You're forfeiting our future to prop up an already lost past!

Amaya: [You broke Janai's heart!]

Karim: Better a broken hearted sister then a prideless people.

Amaya: [Pride is the cause of ruin not it's solution, and it's not more important than family!]

Soren: So you finally proposed to the General, huh? Congratulations!

Janai: I have a vacancy for a Brideshand, if you're available?

Soren: Sure, but what happened to your first- oooh...That spot was for your brother wasn't it?

Amaya: [Shouldn't you still be in the medical tent?]

Corvus: I'm all fixed up. Urgh, honest General.

Amaya: [Really? Then you wont mind a little sparring match.]

Callum: I know I'm taking a risk but, you're not my Queen, so... technically I don't have to do what you say.

Janai: Then I invoke my authority you as your future aunt instead.

Callum: Aww. But still, no can do.

Minsc: Many pardons, my furry friend and I are quite lost.

Amaya: [Uh, who are you? Some kind of adventurer?]

Minsc: We are Minsc and Boo! Protectors of the weak, slayers of Bhaalspawn, and sharp thorn in the boot of evil!

Minsc: (squeaks) Boo says he is not speaking with your luminous toad anymore.

Ezran: I'm sure Bait didn't mean what he said.

Minsc: (squeaks) Boo is sceptical, and so is Minsc.

Kim'Dael: That... is a new one. What manner of madman are you?

Minsc: The Rashemaaran kind!

Minsc: You did well to escape the clutches of your evil father, Soren. You are in good company.

Soren: Thanks. Still... I wish I could've gotten Claudia away too.

Minsc: In Minsc's experience, for evey noble Gorion's Ward, there is usually a vile Sarevok as well.

Minsc: Your mischievous murmurs will have no affect on Minsc, villain. Boo and I will protect this world from you.

Aaravos: Like you "protected" your dear Dynaheir?

Minsc: Go for the eyes, Boo!

Minsc: Minsc and Boo, are here to help you.

Callum: Hey, nice rhyme.

Minsc: Rhyme?

Finnegrin: Why in blazes are you after me barnacle brain? I don't even know you.
