I honestly am kinda in mixed about this. Don’t get me wrong though. I am grateful of Gerard Butler coming back as Stoik.

But I feel an live action remake was unnecessary. Studios are now in the boat as Disney: wanting to o squeeze all the money they can from the animated movies.

I'm amused by the contrast that has popped up between these two unrelated movies

Live action HTTYD's trailer releases and the overwhelming reaction seems to be "why? This doesn't need to exist, the animated one is perfect"

Transformers One released this year and it's overwhelming reaction is "oh God yes this is amazing those live action movies are nothing compared to those why make those when we have animation"

And they're just conventionally good looking people who just happen to have the same hair color as the characters.

The reason that toothless looks a little odd in the trailer is because they are basing it off of the third movies model.

This has been pointed out a ton in the fandom, but it is very obvious that Toothless' face becomes flatter and rounder as the movies go on. The eye ridges also become more exaggerated as well. Its even more when he's front facing. And its not to much of an issue in my opinion, but the httyd 3 model is NOT the model they should have used.

He looks so flat faced and kind of docile. Which in this scene he's suppose to look more vulnerable, but the trailer does not show Toothless being feral. I don't think we are gonna get the riderless, ferocious Httyd 1 Toothless, I think we're getting loveable, already tamed Httyd Toothless. This is just my opinion because I do not have high hopes for this movie.

Seriously, everyone was praising you after Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Best not-actual-Disney movie in years. And then you look at their parade of hated remakes failing at the box office, and what? You thought this was an idea worth stealing?

I hope really they try something different in this remake with the thirty minutes that were added and that I’m wrong about my prediction that this will be another shot for shot remake.

I feel sorry to say this, no actually not, but let’s boycott these endless remakes. I have enough of these soulless cash grabs and which don’t even have a reason to exist.
