Yet another IOF atrocity in northern Gaza today.

Earlier in the day, a very, very small shipment of flour entered north Gaza. The shipment was pathetically small, apparently one van and one truck for 800,000 people. People gathered on the beach by the thousands, hoping to get a bag of flour to take home and feed their families. Gazans know that gathering in large groups and/or in open spaces makes them especially vulnerable to Israeli snipers and bombardment. They choose to risk their lives anyway because the alternative is starvation. Nooh Al-Shaghnobi shows a fraction of the massive crowd in this photo.

The IOF has been targeting Civil Defense workers, so crowd control and efficient distribution were impossible. People scrambled for the smallest scrap of aid, but the vast majority would receive nothing. Many people continued to wait even after the aid was gone. The shore was packed with thousands of desperate, starving people when the IOF opened fire on them. At least five people were trampled to death due to the chaos.

Yesterday we saw a Palestinian 'journalist' - Hossam Shabat - report on a new weapon that makes people disappear. Oh, how we mocked.

But underneath the jokes - there is a sinister truth - and an awful indictment of our own mainstream media outlets.

Here is the man who reported the 'evaporating bodies' - being quoted on @bbcnews - in an article from last December about how half of Gaza was starving. Who found him and quoted him? The BBC's Gazan based hero - Rushdi Abu Alouf.

Here he is just a couple of weeks ago - being reported by the Committee to Protect Journalists as having been injured...

The source @pressfreedom relied on ? Him.

Here is an article on LitHub from October - calling him one of the 'honorable journalists' - because Israel had named him as a Hamas operative. People like Steven Thrasher and Alice Wong know he isn't Hamas because ... well, they just know.

Here is @SKYNEWS running a story about how Israel are making up accusations so they can target and silence journalists... their choice from the six accused to use as a reiable source to build their headline around - Hossam Shabat

Here is Alex Crawford from Sky News turning to Hossam Shabat and using him as a reliable source - so as to both defend him - and discredit Israel.

On and on it goes. Here is @nytimes not just quoting Shabat Hossam - portraying him as an innocent journalist being 'hunted' by Israel - but linking to his social media accounts - promoting them to NYT readers

Oh, almost forgot. This is a picture of the fantasist Hossam Shabat - a man with absolutely no ties at all to Hamas or Islamic Jihad...

Journalist Hossam Shabat reports near-constant bombardment by the occupation, concentrated around large congregations of civilians, particularly around shelter centers. The methodology is clear: force the population into clusters, then bomb them and wipe them out. This is a screenshot from footage Hossam took inside a shelter, as injured people from the shelter vicinity are brought inside to receive what little treatment can be offered. It cannot be overstated that the occupation is ruthlessly targeting densely-populated shelters, and there are innumerable injuries and deaths being reported.

21 y/o journalist Hossam Shabat is often cited by numerous media outlets, social media accounts, and this blog. He has spent the last 150+ days documenting the genocide while also organizing relief efforts and food drives that have fed thousands of people in north Gaza. Today he is asking for help for his family, whose home was destroyed because of his journalism. He writes,

I have decided to launch a personal fundraiser to help my family. Initially, I decided to first help my people and community, and have been supporting them in North Gaza for months. However, this campaign is dedicated to helping my family, who lost everything due to my profession. The Israeli forces contacted me directly, threatening me, and then bombed the house, of my family and built this house with our blood and sweat. Now, my family, consisting of 13 members, finds themselves living in a tent. Thus, I am launching this campaign to seek assistance for myself and my family during these challenging times.

Text: (Instagram post by Hossam Shabat) I’ve lived through many wars in Gaza, but something very different about this genocide is the intensity of the weapons and bombs. When I visit a location that has been recently bombed, I see flesh all over the walls and bodies torn to pieces. They are using powerful weapons that shred bodies beyond recognition, many times we are unable to figure out how many are dead because theirs no bodies it’s all flesh and pieces.

Multiple sources report a partial withdrawal of IOF ground troops from Zaytoun this morning. However, the withdrawal is only partial, ground troops remain in the area. Aerial bombardment is also ongoing.

Journalist Hossam Azam documents the destruction left behind in one neighborhood after the partial withdrawal. Audio for the video could not be downloaded, but the destruction is clear, and there is a synopsis in the subtitles. Hossam also wrote a summary in English:
