Please Donate to Asma's family's fundraiser

My friend Asma is desperate to help her family evacuate from Gaza.

I have posted a link to her fundraiser before. They are the Mushtaha family consisting of 8 members, the youngest being just 13 years old. Three of Asma's relatives need surgery for the injuries sustained in bombing and being trapped under the rubble.

Its been over 2 months since they started this GofundMe. They have managed to raise 40% of the total money, 20,000/50,000 pounds, but they need to secure all the funds to pay and cross into Egypt.

She shared this video of where her family is currently living in a tent in Gaza (no sound):

They used to live in North Gaza, and one of their neighbors still living there took this picture. They cannot go back even if they wanted to. Since October they have been displaced 7 times!

Hey tumblr, I'm struggling financially after an emergency surgery on my gallbladder after it'd gone bad. I work two jobs but haven't been able to work the second job since my surgery and I'm experiencing an hour decrease with my main job, which I can only work part time to begin with. Pretty soon I'll be expected to start paying for my phone bill which I can't afford with the $200 I'm already paying each month. I've started a go fund me. My long time friend Asma launched a fundraiser to evacuate her family from Gaza.

Asma has been trying to get her uncles, aunts, and remaining family members evacuated from Gaza. Last month, she managed to collect enough money to get her grandmother out of Gaza. After exhausting all other options, she has started a gofundme in the hopes that she can raise enough money to get everyone else out safely.

They survived their house being bombed and being buried under the rubble, but one of her aunt has several injuries including clavicle fracture and a spinal injury that makes it hard for her to move or walk. One of her cousins needs jaw surgery. In the same bombing, her other aunt's entire family was martyred. Since then they have been displaced many times as their health conditions have continued to worsen.

Anon who submitted the medical/mobility aid poll here: I just want to clarify that I wear glasses myself, and I do consider them a medical aid, but since Tumblr only allows you to choose one option on polls, I didn't want to include an aid that most people use because then most people who use other types of aids would choose "multiple of these," and what I was really curious about were what kinds of not-as-common, not-as-societally-accepted aids people are using. I feel stigma for using my aids and wanted to know that other people are also using them or other types. I don't feel stigmatized for my glasses-wearing, but people are welcome to submit their own polls about glasses as a disability aid if they'd like.

Yes I agree! It’s important we de-stigmatize medical/mobility aids and while I agree that you could count general glasses as an aid, I see that the purpose of the poll was to see what “not so common” ones other people use and maybe make it so we don’t feel so alone if we use them. 💜
