So Our post Valentines movie this week was the other Valentine's Day themed movie the slasher film "Heart Eyes" which was about a masked killer who hunted down and killed couples on Valentine's Day now I do enjoy a good slasher film and I would have to say I actually loved this one!

In my opinion it was the best ones I seen in a long time. It doesn't take itself too seriously but if it needs to be serious it switches into that gear. but for the most part its kinda silly with plenty of funny moment and has lots of witty writing. The kills and deaths were wild and crazy and very cool and different. from the opening in the vineyard to the killing the couple in the back of van it almost has that 80s slasher feel to it

I also felt there were horror references here and there they were almost like a blink and you'll miss it type of thing. But everything was great! there were twists and turns the killer "Happy Eyes" had an interesting design and felt very menacing. I have to say I liked the character The whole thing I felt it was fresh and interesting.

I felt it was very well acted and the characters I thought were extremely likeable. especially the stars Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) I felt that they had great chemersty and you hope that they survive the night. While watching this I kept look at the woman who play Detective Shaw and I'm like "She looks so familiar?!?" and I couldn't place her until it hits me she plays Mia in the The Fast and the Furious movies I know she has been in tons of other things but that is her main thing.

but anyway yeah the movie was great and if you are looking for a good slasher movie with a bit of humor I would highly recommend giving this a watch!

oh also there is a mid credits scene so don't leave/turn it off once the credits roll.

So yeah we went to see that new movie Companion originally we were going to go to the movie supernatural "Presence" that apparently came out the end of January? but when I checked the movie start times it apparently wasn't playing here locally so we decided to go and see the movie about the robot girl call "Companion"

Now I don't want to give to much away so I'll try not to. Now first and for most I thought the movie was very good I don't know how to classify it? is it horror? is it a Dark Comedy? maybe a bit of both? but anyway I thought it was good and a bit thought provoking too in regards to stuff like relationships.

Now all I'm going to tell you about the story is this being I don't want to give anything away

Josh (Jack Quaid) gets a life like robot Companion named Iris (Sophie Thatcher) because he and his friend Kat (Megan Suri) are planing to kill and rob and friend of Kat's named Sergey (Rupert Friend) and blame the murder on the robot Companion but of course it doesn't go as planed. That's all I can say about it.

I do feel it is quite a wild movie it starts off pretty normal and then of course there are plenty of horror elements and some some funny Dark Humor to it I got a giggle out of a few things also I thought it was very well acted Jack Quaid's character is a a guy you would love to hate, He is kinda of this total asshole who I think he thinks hes incrediblly smart but isn't really. I also don't know if if he is some kind of misogynist because he treats Iris like shit I don't know if that is because she is a robot or not but at the same time he appears to be simping over his friend Kat alot of the time.

As for Sophie Thatcher who plays the robot girl Iris I thought she did an amazing job she plays it so sweet and innocent in the beginning but when they screw up her programing to commit the murder (because she is "3 laws safe" if you get that reference good for you! you're awesome!) once that happens Sophie Thatcher takes this character and runs with it and you see the characters personality completely change as she is no longer bound by these limitations.

The one main problem I had with this movie was knowing the character of Iris was a robot going into this kinda ruins it a bit because when it is reviled that she is an actual robot the scene carries no weight. Its a excellent scene filled with alot of emotion and surprise from the character of Iris but like I said it is not a surprise for the viewer which is a bit sad being it would have been a good revile if you didn't already know.

but other then that I thought it was a great movie and I would recommend it if you were looking for something interesting to see.

I was watching Scream, but instead of it being a deconstruction of horror movies, it was a deconstruction of indie horror games. The overall plot was the exact same, just with different characters and tropes.

Absolutely diabolical that a company that makes robots specifically for companionship would make sure to program the ability to feel and experience pain into them
