here's the part one

so i knew most of highlander crossovers are with other old tv shows like BtVS, the sentinel, SPN, but like i said before i adore writing niche and rare crossover so here's the more elaborate story about Immortal Ijichi Kiyotaka lol

so when ijichi and methos, post crazy shit that went down with duncan macleod of the clan macleod, decided to de-stressed and traveled around africa, ijichi found what could be described as the youth fountain and at the same time they ran from a curse users that hell bend on cursing one or both of them, ijichi became the victim and he was deaged to age six BUT still remember all of his three millennia life and still an immortal. thankfully he will still grow until the year he died the first time, at age 31, so methos told him to stay somewhere safe until he can defend himself again

ijichi decided to come back home to japan and being adopted by the ijichi clan who he still keep up and exchange letters with, and also to see his student (Gojo Haruhi). he heard that another Six Eyes-Limitless user has been born to the clan and decided to enroll to jujutsu high when he reach age 16 to get to know said user

fast forward ten years later, ijichi still not used to being small than usual, cannot really bring a non-curse tool sword around the school so he only use his shikigami, and when he went to jujutsu high post geto leaving everything just felt weird. still ijichi stayed and somehow got roped into assistant manager position instead of sorcerer, because even though he's old as fuck immortal with penchant for surviving even the craziest shit, his curse energy and shikigami is not that powerful and so he's ok with that

he also got tangled with his upperclassmen drama and has, from an outsider pov, a bully-victim relationship with gojo even tho ijichi knew gojo trust him

fast forward to when he reach 25 and becoming more used to his body, ijichi was known for his calm temperament, his ability to roll with punches and deal with even the craziest sorcerer (aka gojo) without losing his cool, and being perceived as weak and average. ijichi and gojo becoming closer esp after gojo found his apartment who was full with crazy, rare artefacts and books written in old languages, and found out that ijichi also volunteered to translate old books from the school's library

when shit hits the fan a year later, with sukuna and kenjaku and shibuya and everything in between, ijichi is one of the pilar that maintain the status quo of the jujutsu, doing thankless job around the clock with other managers. he also contact methos wondering if he had heard anything about the prison realm (methos didn't know shit) and then decided yes he need some support here

methos came to japan before the culling game, reacquaintance with tengen and gojo hanami, and help reorganize shits. after satoru was released from the prison realm and the start of the fight (but before sukuna-gojo fight), somehow the culling game also becoming the center of the immortals' The Gathering, when immortals around the world start to move to japan

ijichi got roped into the game, some young immortals didn't recognize him and starts attacking him outside of tengen's barrier even tho he's around other sorcerers including gojo and nanami (he's alive ok i won't accept any fact except that nanami is alive!!!!!!), but ijichi yelled that no one can intervern. the conversations went like this, probably :

miyamura (the other immortals) : "I never see you before, you look young. I challenge you to the game!"

ijichi : "Young man, you're still young enough, are you sure?"

gojo : "Who the fuck are you calling young, Ijichi?!"

ijichi, after being attacked and quickly defend himself with his sword : "Wait Gojo-san, do not intervene! I must do this alone."

miyamura : "Ha! So you didn't tell anyone about the rules? Rule number one! No fighting on holy ground. Rule number two! Once a battle between two Immortals has been joined, no one may interfere. And rule number three-"

ijichi, aggravated because now his colleagues and friends knew about immortality, attack viciously and disarmed the other immortal and quickly take his head : "Rule number three, There Can Be Only One!"

the other, mesmerized but also weird out with the duel, shocked to watch lightning came from the body ijichi just beheaded and the lightning came straight to ijichi. after a few seconds, the area was cleared again and ijichi start swaying around but manage to walk back to the others.

gojo : "what the fuck was that."

ijichi : "won your fight against sukuna then i'll tell you all about it."

so that's one motivation for satoru to win his fight.

How to train your dragon series (1704) by Cressida Howell

300 years later, Cressida Howell’s ‘How to train your dragon’ is still influential in how pop culture view the emperor. As one of the more popular children’s books in the North and South America, it ignited an interest about the life of the late Hiksti Haddock III.

Charming, dutiful, sarcastic and slightly awkward. The Hiskti Haddock III from ‘How to train your dragon’ (1704) by Cressida Howell is an adventurer and an engineer who wanted to explore the world and just happened to be a very endearing character. Originally released in America as a children’s book, it was a breath of fresh air compared to the gritty portrayals of the emperor in a serious and dramatic historical novel of Europe in the late 1600’s and early 1700s. Where no one goes (1806) by Richard Broom

Introduced in 1856 to a polarising audience, it goes against the common depiction of Emperor Hiksti as a charismatic military commander in a dramatic historical novel full of glory of the war. ‘Where no one goes’ simply portrays King Hiksti III as a man in his 30s and so full of melancholy, unlike the popular novels which focused more during his youth and great battles he fought and less about his older self during the time of peace. Battle hardened and weary, ‘where no one goes’ depicts the brutally of war as the now adult King Hiksti recounts his youth. Of sleepless days where he dreams of enemy soldiers who burned to death by dragon fire, his question of morality as he builds another weapon of destruction and in the end of the novel ends with the emperor longing for the simpler times of his youth.

Highland seas series (1989) by Rachel Brook

Derided by the critics as a shallow bodice ripper novel, nonetheless it managed to have a dedicated readers to become a series. Set in an alternate universe where Hiksti Haddock III did not become a king and instead became a runaway before the final test against the monstrous nightmare, he finally become an adventurer he was meant to be. Readers have bemoaned the lost potential of the novel, setting aside the wonderful worldbuilding from the first chapters to focus on romance and softcore porn.

The Great King (2007) by Hiksti Blackwood

‘The Great King’ by Hiksti Blackwood took Emperor Hiksti’s steady image and shook it to its core. It’s a historical novel about Emperor Hiksti Haddock III but also works as a study on childhood and coming of age in medieval society, child marriages and traumas of war.

What fandoms do you write for? I’m a one-fandom-at-a-time writer. Currently, I write for Stranger Things. Previously, some in the Captain America and Thor MCU fandoms, Merlin, due South, BtVS, and Angel. I have a smattering of other fandoms in there as well.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Steve’s No Good, Terrible, Kinda Perfect Senior Year (ST) He Sets the Tone (ST) A Paladin’s Work is Never Done (ST) She Sets The Agenda (ST) As I Hesitated, Time Rushed Onwards Without Me (Merlin)

Do you respond to comments? I try to. I figure I’ve let a few drop over the years by accident and I’ve never had a story get crazy popular with too many comments to respond to either.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Generally I write happy endings but Chosen, Rare Minds is a short, one shot downer. (It’s a canon compliant missing scene fic for the Captain America fandom is angsty in that it’s about Peggy and Howard deciding to move forward with bring Armin Zola into SHIELD using operation paperclip)

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I feel like so many of my stories have happy endings, but many of them are series that aren’t done, so the real ending (which will be happy) isn’t published yet. Of the published ones, I think maybe Translucent Hearts. Steve basically dies in the beginning of the story but by the end Steve, Eddie, Robin, and everyone Steve cares about is in a better place and happy with their lives. Lust, Love, and Other Side Effects also has a really happy ending for Steddie specifically.

Do you get hate on fics? I have a dirty, sweet short Darcy/Steve fic that has a shit ton of hits, but no love/kudos and two shitty comments (basically saying that it wasn’t what they expected, but I don’t know what to say, it was tagged and described accurately). Still, it’s tentacle dildo pegging and people don’t seem to want to own up to liking it. Only weird/mean comments I’ve gotten.

Do you write smut? Yes, but the least amount for Stranger Things. For some fandoms all I ever wrote for them was for kink bingo on LJ. I had to learn how to plot before I could do anything but write porn.

Do you write crossovers? Yup! Love a good crossover or fusion. I still love that I am the only Stranger Things/Highlander crossover fic in the fandom.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? I don’t think so.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Again, I don’t think so. No one has told me if they did.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope

What's your all time favorite ship? I am a true mulitshipper and trying to figure out a favorite ship in a single fandom is nearly impossible. I don’t think I could ever do it for all my fandoms ever.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? To: Birdbrian c/o the Wakandan Royal Residence - I’ve marked it complete, but it was supposed to be a series of short postcards between Natasha and Clint after Civil War. It was an experiment with writing a WIP that obviously didn’t work.

What are your writing strengths? For someone who writes fluffy stuff: angst, miscommunication (done right, meaning from actual character flaws not contrivance), and horror. Also, dialogue, character arcs, tight plotting, world building (fannish expansion style), and characterization.

What are your writing weaknesses? For all that I write sex, I still feel like it’s more mechanical than I want it to be. Action scenes, rising action and real stakes (I don’t want my babies hurt), emotions, subtle interactions between people - I always have to spell things out.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Super short phrases maybe. But for most MCU stuff I either avoided it or used italics to get across the fact that the dialog was not in English.

First fandom you wrote for? Buffy!

Favorite fics you've written? Steve’s No Good, Terrible, Kinda Perfect Senior Year series, Translucent Hearts, and my Eddie-centric story about Eddie being from the Lab: Future Hazy Try Again (and the rest of the series but I’m really proud of the first story). My older stuff is not my proudest stuff at this point. Some of it is over 20 years old and it shows.

The Hobbit - All are Bilbo/Thorin unless stated otherwise Active Wips: A Home, A Pack, A Place of Love (Animal Au) Summary: Bilbo is a corgi and he has become the guardian of a traumatised little corgi pup. He has to leave their cosy home and hope for the best. For him and Frodo.

Hopefully he will find a ew place to call home, a new family for him and Frodo, hopefully they will thirve. I want you right here, where you belong:Home with us (Bilbo/Thorin, Sirius/Remus crossover) Summary: Thorin has moved to "The United Kingdoms" with his friends and family.

Follow his life as he ends up an unexpected father, Uncle and husband, and extends his family with wizards, witches, centaurs, goblins and, sadly, elves.

Bilbo stays in Erebor fics:Stop me Fading (Needs major re edtiting) Summary: Its a few weeks since BOTFA. Bilbos running around like a headless chicken, The Company are being plonkers, Thranduil and Dain are being antagonistic, Bards just a cinnamon roll and Gandalf keeps disappearing for long amounts of time (for good causes of course). There's one lonely, sad little hobbit on the plains outside of the Lonely Mountain. Bagginshield-tober (A uncomplete series) Summary: A series of fics spanning from LakeTown until Bilbo's death. Bilbo stayed in Erebor, this is his and Thorin's life. Afterlife Fics: I will join you Summary: MCD!! Bilbo sits with a dying Thorin, knowing he will join him. Dead or not, this will not be the last time he seee his beloved. A Little Drop of Rain Summary: Thorin holds his dying one in his arms. All he can do is hope he will see him again after his life is over. It was a long life and all Thorin wants is to be reunited with his hobbit. Defying Death (or at least the ones in charge) Summary: Bilbo has finally died, and now Lord Mandos wants to shove him away to Lady Yavanna's Green Gardens. Well that wont do. After all, Thorin wont be in Yavanna's gardens and Bilbo wont stay where Thorin isnt.

He's a burglar, and if he can smuggle his dwarves out from under Thranduil's nose, he can smuggle himself into Mahal's Halls under the Valar's noses, right?

Reshirement: Changeling Child (Mpreg) Summary: Thanks to his Stone headed nephews, Bilbo now has a new quest. One that needs cleverness and diplomacy. Not the reckless battle tactics of dwarrow. This is the most important quest Bilbo will ever go on, even more imprtant then facing a dragon. For the most important being in his life. Animal Au's: A Pasture Too Small for A Bovine’s World so Large Summary: Bilbo is an odd Highland Bull, so odd that he has had enough and takes Primula, Drogo and baby Frodo to find a new place. A new home.

Thorin and his family are an odd little herd of Bison. An odd herd with room for a few other strange bovines. Wait for me in the Aurora Bearalis Summary: Bilbo is a red panda, he had had a good life. He had managed to make it to 64 seasons (16 years) when most red pandas were lucky to make 40 seasons (10 years).

Thorin doesnt want to say goodbye to his little Orso but he has too, hopefully they can find one another in another life. Ive found Frodo ....and he found you? Summary: Canine distemper has stolen all of the Bagginses away apart from Bilbo and little Frodo. No he has to find his kit, who has wandered off, again, and keep them safe from "The Sick". If only he wasn't alone doing it.

Bittersweet/hopeful ending: The Last Meeting (Until Arda is Remade) Summary: Bilbo is a sad, lonely hobbit in Rivendell. What is left of The Company, his friends, his Family find him there. There are less then there should be.

This is Bilbo's last meeting with the few remaining dwarves he adores. Until they meet again, when the world is remade, hopefully. Sad Ending: The Demented King Under the Mountain Summary: TW MCD, Murder, Thorin did not beat the dragon sickness. Thorin did not defeat the Dragon-sickness and in his rage destroyed the gift he was given to cherish. “How rare and beautiful it truly is that you existed, and that you existed with me, for me" Summary: It is time for Bilbo to leave The Shire, he is going to make his way to Erebor, hopefully.

Before that, he makes his way to his oak tree, the last living thing he has that reminds him of Thorin, it is time to say goodbye. One more hour with you Summary: Bilbo doesnt want it to end, he just wants one more day, one more hour, one more minute with his beloved. He will deny the truth in front of him to get it if he has too. You Never Cared, Why Start Now? Summary: It started with the fires burning through Erebor. It will end with the fires burning through Bag End. The Last Durin Princess returns home (Gen fic, Dis-centric) Summary: The Last Durin Princess returns home, but home is a tomb. A place with ghosts. With her dead borther and her dead sons.

When home is no longer home, all it is is a place of pain and heart break. What is the last of her line supposed to do? How is she supposed to go on? You were to late Summary: Bilbo is watching the eagles fly overhead in victory. With Thorin's cooling hand in his, Bilbo isnt sure what their is to feel victorious over.

Quest Fics: Dwarrow hugs in the dark Summary: The Fell Winter wasnt just a time whe hobbits starved, it ws much worse then that. An entire generation of hobbits traumatised.

For one Bilbo Baggins, on a quest with a troop of rude dwarves, the memories become nightmares whilst on the road. Maybe waht he needs is dwarrow hugs off a dwarrow king? A heart of stone and Fire in his soul Summary: Thorin is but a ghost of a king, desperate and making stupid choices. Bilbo is a hobbit out of The Shire, trying to find his place. But he needs to keep his daft dwarven king alive to succeed. The trials and tribulations of a married hobbit (a bowman's persepctive) Summary: Bard see's a small hobbit amongst a crowd of dwarves clamouring to get on his barge. From that first glimpse he makes a friend, suprised by who his new friend has married. Follow the events from Lake Town until after from Bard's pov. Far over the Misty Mountains:A hobbit with a heart Summary: Bilbo's home is suddenly invaded by a troop of dwarves. He would be bad, should be mad, but that song ....

Modern Au's: "Bring Your Older Gays To Play" at Club Erebor Summary: Frodo had convinced Bilbo to go the event night at his favourite queer club. All Bilbo wanted to do was go home, back to his books and cup of tea. Well, that was until Mr tall, dark and sexy was pushed into him. The reason is you, the reason is him, the reason is me (Dwalin/Nori, background Bilbo/Thorin) Summary: Nori hates himself for the 4 and a half years he spent in prison. For destroying everythig good in his ife. For losing everything he had to live for.

Hes out now and hopefully he can fix his realationships and see his son again. Spotlight: Same Name, Different Characters

Rachel MacLeod and Rachel Walker

Rachel MacLeod is a descendant to Duncan MacLeod and his clan Clan MacLeod who originally debuted in the Highlander series episode "Homeland", but she didn't appear in Defenders Chronicles Highlander until the end of the most recent chapter "Darkest Before the Dawn", which was two episodes in one big chapter - "Something Wicked" and "Deliverance".

Rachel Walker is the younger half sister to Jedda Walker, who takes part of the IUA and will be a DoE member for some time in the future after Jedda and Rick leave the team for the Netherworld. Rachel Walker is created by @james5-doe

Amy Brennan Thomas and Amy O' Connor

Amy Brennan Thomas is Joe Dawson's biological daughter who appeared in the Highlander episode "Indiscretions", who becomes a Watcher/researcher for the Methos project. She will debut in Earth N in the future as well.

Amy O' Connor is Mandrake's daughter with special powers and she appears starting in the beginning of the DoE x Batman crossover "When Worlds and Dangers Collide". Amy O' Connor is created by Marzena.

Something Called Living by ArgentumLS

Summary: Of all the morgues in all the world, Richie Ryan just had to wake up in Henry Morgan's. (Highlander/Highlander: The Raven/Forever)

Why should you read this? This was written for hlh_shortcuts 2015, I clicked on the story without realizing it was a crossover, and I've never seen an episode of Forever. I know the series premise. I know who played the lead, Henry Morgan. Did I ever expect this writer to take these three series and mesh them together into one brilliant whole, one that makes sense?

Of course I did. ArgentumLS is just that good. Richie's superpower is making friends in the absolute worst situation, and Argentum highlights his ability to bond with others and his essential good nature here - even when things get bad, Richie can find a way out of it. She brings in Liam Riley from HL: The Raven, and a whole host of engaging characters from Forever and I can hear the crisp tones of Henry Morgan as he finds a new mystery - and friend - in Richie and the gruff weariness of his son Abe as Henry gets up to more shenanigans.

Go. Read. It's the first part of a series with about 160k words total, and I assure you, you'll be delighted by it all.

so i really adore writing niche crossover and bcs i currently reading a fuckton lot of jjk fanfic on ao3 and its that time of the year when i miss reading the highlander and methos fanfic, kinda want to write an immortal ijichi kiyotaka au LMAO

look i found this one intriguing gojo x ijichi rare pair fic that i adore and will def re-read (Opposites Attract by Durendel32) and kinda like the staff and other sorcerers thought ijichi to be this average assistant manager, but gojo always has some weird feelings around ijichi, that he's different and has more depth than was shown

but because everything that happened in their high school years, gojo didn't really pay attention to other years, only when he watch how ijichi behave and thought he didn't really have potential to be a sorcerer and kinda bullied him a lot to quit

ijichi is actually one of the ancient immortal and knew methos aka the oldest immortal. he didn't really remember his original name (it's Fukurokuju, but he's more used to any variation of Kiyo) he's around since jomon period and on his third millennia (while methos is on his six), he's really the type to roll with punches and that's why as the assistant manager he's known for being unfazed by even the craziest missions and sorcerers. he learned a lot of language esp chinese-korean-japanese, and he always able to see curses (rare as they were in those eras) but didn't understand wtf is that

ijichi met methos around his seventh centuries in, he used to have an immortal teacher but she's been dead for a couple of decades. methos kinda roamed around china and they met during some battle against some people (i don't really know the history about those area LMAO) and after they found out they didn't want to take each other's head, they became fast friend (esp when ijichi didn't really judge him about being Death)

ijichi knew about jujutsu because even thought he roam around the world during his years alive, he still came back to japan from time to time, so he's actually around during heian era before and after sukuna exist. he was tengen's acquaintance and tengen's place is where he stashed some of his most precious books

fast forward to probably four hundred years before jjk canon, ijichi that was currently named Kiyoomi, fell in love and married Ijichi Naomi and took her last name. the ijichi is a minor but powerful jujutsu clan, and ijichi kiyoomi learn a lot about how to access shikigami. it was round this age he also befriend the current six eyes-limitless holder, Gojo Akira, and also found out one of gojo's step sibling, Gojo Hanami, is an immortal so he vow to be there to help her when she first die

naomi still has a child (from previous relationship) but both ijichi thought it would be better for kiyo to claime the child as his. then the ijichi clan found out about his immortality and his real name (which actually considered a deity,,, what a surprise) and sworn to always allow Kiyo to came back even if decades or centuries have passed. so now ijichi has a place and clan to came back to

fast forward to probably ten years before jjk canon, ijichi and methos roam around africa and ijichi was cursed by one of the curse user there, and then he was aged back to around six yo even tho his body was 31 (the age when he first die), so bcs of this he decided to come back to japan and being adopted by the ijichi clan, and claim the name Ijichi Kiyotaka

🍓 What’s a fic you’ve written you feel is underrated?

no but this is a very difficult question. I don't think sorting by stats is going to help here, either—I start overanalysing, like 'this fic interests a different group of people' etc etc etc. I've written a number of shorter, smutty fics. how am I supposed to compare the period fics, the qui&obi gen stories, and larger romances and very not-sw au's to that?

I will say this, however: I love how Ancient Manor Houses is doing.

🍒 What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)

I'd say QuiObi but that would be the easy way out, I guess 🤭 but it's tricky to do otherwise because they're the only dynamic I've ever really finished a fic for. or multiple. but I do have a weakness for extremely competent people, potentially with a history of one mentoring the other, watching each other grow.

🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?

well. @severeannoyance said 'Hornblower series be upon ye' and won, so yes, I'd love to put Ben Kenobi on an early 19th century ship in the middle of the Napoleonic wars.

though speaking of fusions, I do have a dormant Highlander/The Mummy fusion that might happen someday.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try! I love that people enjoy the stuff I've written, but it's a lot of spoons sometimes.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

In the Wartime, probably, because that was written as an emotional response to people in that fandom writing a certain kind of story that, when everything came out, had a happy ending and their families accepted them. I have a history with this particular thing, and those stories pissed me off because there's no happy endings there.

Weirdly, for all that I write a lot of unhappy ending stuff, there's a fair bit of it that I finished and posted (probably because they were short). Fiction Between Us was supposed to have a fix-it sequel that I never wrote. (I was running under a time constraint for the Lyric Wheel challenge.)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Blood on My Name - unambiguous happy ending on that one, with a real chance that all issues are recovered into a friendship at somepoint..

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No, but my posting rate has been about once a decade, so...

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

When it's character-arc relevant, generally.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I love crossovers, and the craziest one I've written is definitely The Basilisk (Methos from Highlander / Basilisk).

Not that I know of.

Nope.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I did a round robin once. I'm not opposed, but generally I don't want to inflict my schedule, writing speed, and rough draft style on folks.

Currently Steve Harrington / Eddie Munson / Chrissy Cunningham from Stranger Things, but I have a real fondness for Duncan MacLeod / Methos, Tony Stark / Steve Rogers, and Merlin / Arthur / Guinevere.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The sequel to Fiction Between Us because I feel bad about the unhappy ending cliffhanger and had a reasonable amount plotted out. There were a bunch I started for the unnamed fandom that I'm never going to work on again, even if I sometimes get the urge.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue and AU butterfly effects.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Scene description, hands down.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't know another language well enough to feel comfortable with my translation skills. I just write in in English and mark the language change in text.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Highlander is the first one I actually put to paper, knowing I was writing fanfic. I definitely remember kicking around SI stories for the Drizzt Do'Urden series when I was younger, though.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Blood on My Name, of what I have published. Invictus or Sing if You're Glad to be Gay if I include stuff I'm actively working on and am more likely to finish than not.
