The Role Of Hermits

Hermits have long been revered in witchcraft, mysticism, and occult traditions for their roles as seekers of wisdom, spiritual protectors, and keepers of ancient knowledge. The hermit archetype embodies solitude, introspection, and the pursuit of hidden truths. In witchcraft, hermits play a unique role in personal transformation, spiritual guidance, and deep magickal work.
The Archetype of the Hermit in Witchcraft
In many traditions, the hermit is a symbol of wisdom, seclusion, and enlightenment. This is reflected in the Tarot card "The Hermit", which represents introspection, seeking truth, and following an inner light.
Core Traits of the Witch-Hermit:
• Lives in solitude or remote areas (forests, mountains, caves, or secluded homes)
• Devotes time to spiritual study, meditation, and deep magickal practice
• Acts as a guardian of hidden knowledge
• Connects with nature, spirits, and unseen forces
• Often avoids mainstream society, preferring independence

The Hermit as a Guardian of Esoteric Knowledge
Hermits in witchcraft are often seen as keepers of magickal traditions, preserving rituals, herbal knowledge, and lost wisdom. Many folk healers, cunning folk, and wise women historically lived on the edges of society, practicing their craft in seclusion.
Types of Hermit Witches:
• The Forest Witch – Lives deep in the woods, working with plants, spirits, and animals.
• The Solitary Alchemist – Devotes life to philosophy, transformation, and secret experiments.
• The Spirit Walker – Isolated to commune with spirits, ancestors, or astral beings.
• The Prophetic Seer – Uses solitude to enhance visions, divination, and trance work.
• The Temple Keeper – Protects sacred sites, ruins, or hidden places of power.

The Role of Solitude in Witchcraft
Solitude is often essential in witchcraft and magickal development. Many witches embrace temporary or lifelong hermitage to:
• Strengthen their magical abilities – Uninterrupted practice leads to stronger energy work, intuition, and manifestation skills.
• Connect deeply with nature – The natural world provides wisdom, omens, and spiritual allies.
• Enhance psychic abilities – Silence and solitude heighten clairvoyance, dream work, and meditation.
• Undergo spiritual transformation – Many spiritual initiations require time away from society.

Hermits as Teachers and Guides
Though they live in isolation, hermits sometimes serve as mentors, healers, and initiators in witchcraft traditions. In folklore, many powerful witches and sorcerers live alone but help those seeking knowledge.
Examples of Hermit Teachers in Witchcraft & Folklore:
• The Crone in the Woods – An old witch living alone, offering wisdom, potions, or prophecies.
• The Hidden Master – An occultist who teaches only a select few dedicated students.
• The Shamanic Seer – A mystic who communes with spirits and offers guidance.

Modern Witchcraft & Hermit Practices
Many modern witches embrace hermit-like practices to deepen their craft, even if they do not fully withdraw from society.
Ways to Incorporate Hermit Wisdom into Your Practice:
• Solo Rituals & Spellwork – Dedicate time to private rituals, free from distractions.
• Retreats & Solitude – Spend time alone in nature or in a sacred space for spiritual renewal.
• Deep Study & Esoteric Learning – Read ancient texts, practice divination, and refine magickal techniques.
• Energy Work & Meditation – Strengthen intuition, astral travel, and communion with spirits.
• Avoiding Mundane Distractions – Limit exposure to social noise to focus on personal power.

The hermit is a powerful figure in witchcraft, representing wisdom, self-discovery, and mastery of the unseen. Whether you fully embrace solitude or periodically retreat for spiritual work, adopting the hermit’s path can unlock deeper magickal potential, connection with nature, and hidden knowledge.

Love, Loss, and Letting Go: The Painful Beauty of Impermanence
There was someone I knew once, a long time ago. They were not born to the world as many are, at ease with the currents of society, but they learned to flow with it out of love. Love, you see, is a powerful teacher. It can make us tender and adaptable, as it did for them. They loved deeply—an all-encompassing, transformative kind of love. It brought them joy, purpose, and a sense of belonging. They…

Nauuur I could never be a teenage boy. I went to my cowoker's (18) house so he could fix my car, and he had all his friends over, 6 guys and a girl. Probably all 18-ish. They seemed sweet and well-mannered. I didn't really feel like threatened or anything. Anyway his Mom invited him and his friends inside, and I didn't want to seem rude so I went as well (this was the second time she invited me in). And Like. They are cooked. They were making Diddy jokes. The guys to each other, they weren't making any to the girl as far as I know. One guy kept grabbing the other guys dick. This other guy kept making gay jokes about my co-worker. And I'm like "Holy shit, the sterotypes are true, nothing is gayer than being a straight guy" I'm pretty sure one guy was scrolling through instagram and his fyp was only porn-adjacent stuff or something.
Yeah, my co-worker was like, "I can let you know the next time we all meet up" and I don't want to go back there and they aren't funny.
But like. Wow. They were the most aggressive "teenage boys" I've seen. They were so stereotypical. The reddit posts, tumblr posts, any media posts were right. And to make things more movie-esque, my co-worker seemed the most normal. And his Dad came over and talked to us. He took pictures of his son and all his friends and then went upstairs. His Mom was making us sandwiches, it's so sweet and loving. And all his friends are making either gay jokes or rape jokes like what is going on. Glad I did NOT have to experience this.
#I miss when I was a hermit with no outside experience#Like I miss not knowing this stuff#I'm tired of getting real-world experieces#I was done when I met a pregnant 18 yo#I don't want to keep meeting real-life archetypes anymore#I kind of pity the girl#but I don't think it's an NLOG situation#apparently co-worker only hangs out with her and another guy the most#The other guy was the only other one besides her and my co-worker who wasn't making gay/diddy jokes#so she mostly hangs out with the normal guys which is good#or the guys that no how to behave at least

The Hermit by Gary Mayer
“Much of the books argument is laid in the early scene of the kid and the hermit (16-20): a man is "at odds to know his mind" and "he don't want to know" his heart (19). Jung writes in a strikingly apt passage: "[M]an must continue to resemble a hermit who knows. . . he has affinities with the anthropoids but. . . is extraordinarily different. . . in respect of his psyche. It is just in this most important characteristic of his species that he cannot know himself and therefore remains a mystery to himself" ("Undiscovered" 369). And these relationships of psyche to mind are expressed many times in Jung's work:
It is no use thinking we can ever get beyond the psyche by means of the "mind," even though the mind asserts that it is not dependent on the psyche. How could it prove that? We can say, if we like, that one statement comes from the psyche, is psychic and nothing but psychic, and that another comes from the mind, is 'spiritual' and therefore superior to the psychic one. Both are mere assertions based on the postulates of belief. (Archetypes 269)
In "Approaching the Unconscious," Jung writes: "Our intellect has created a new world that dominates nature, and has populated it with monstrous machines" (20), and "In spite of our proud domination of nature, we are still her victims, for we have not even learned to control our own nature" (91). The hermit's conversation with the kid is kindred to Neumann's assertion: "Only if a thought is a passion that grips the heart can it reach ego consciousness and be perceived; consciousness is only affected by the proximity of the idea to the archetype. But the heart is also the seat of ethical decision; it symbolizes the center of the personality, and, in the Egyptian Judgment of the Dead, it was weighed" (26).
What is finally central to the kid and the judge as antagonists is the human psychology of differing perceptions of the world. Jung's fundamental categories of type, extravert and introvert, fit Holden and the kid. But only Jung's further categories, including, among others, thinking, feeling, judging, the intuitive, rational, and irrational, suggest that Holden and the kid literally cannot see each other. Holden is a judging type—how can there be any question?—in this human psychology, and in Jung's framework, Holden's judgments can be both rational and irrational. What Holden does not allow is what is central to the hermits words to the kid: that we are both mind and heart, are both conscious and unconscious. To deny unconsciousness and feeling is not to erase them, but to overlook them, to have them feed the irrational. It is Holden's irrationality that the other characters in the novel respond to with disgust. In fact, even Holden's rational judgments become colored with this disgust, and readers close the book. Holden must be human for us to care, and for all his relation to archetypes and to metaphors of a lunar dome and to mercurial and lunar mutability, he is psychologically as human as any character in the novel.
Presented here at some length, again with the disclaimer "as if it were a source,” Jung:
Since the unconscious, in spite of its separation from the conscious subject, is always appearing on the scene, we notice in the actual life of the irrational types striking judgments and acts of choice, but they take the form of apparent sophistries, cold-hearted criticisms, and a seemingly calculating choice of persons and situations. These traits have a rather infantile and even primitive character; both types can on occasion be astonishingly naive, as well as ruthless, brusque, and violent. To the rational types the real character of these people might well appear rationalistic and calculating in the worst sense. But this judgment would be valid only for their unconscious, and therefore quite incorrect for their conscious psychology, which is entirely oriented by perception, and because of its irrational nature is quite unintelligible to any rational judgment. To the rational mind it might even seem that such a hodge-podge of accidentals hardly deserves the name psychology' at all. The irrational type ripostes with an equally contemptuous opinion of his opposite number: he sees him as something only half alive, whose sole aim is to fasten the fetters of reason on everything living and strangle it with judgments. These are crass extremes, but they nevertheless occur. (Psychological 371)
Positioned as is McCarthy's hermit scene, positioned literally underground, the hermit's words on mind and heart indeed lay out the novel's psychological core.” (p. 147, 148)

im kinda surprised roderika never has any dialogue about fia, come to think of it. like they're right next door to each other, they're both very involved with death as a concept, and roderika comments on the dung eater's rancid vibes so there's precedent for her taking notice of other people in the hold. i guess this is maybe an indicator that TWLID are soulless & thus so completely disconnected from spirit tuning that roderika doesn't perceive anything about fia at all. still it would've been neat if they acknowledged each other in some way
#the nemesis speaks#plus they're very much a contrasting pair of archetypes#it really feels like there could've been crossover there#this feels like it's probably very old ground for the fandom at large. im just thinking out loud in my hermit corner whatever

got my fortune read again and listen, i legit DO NOT believe in it at all but it continues to shock me how each time i get my tarot read by either my friends (which, to be fair, there's a bias there) or professionals i end up getting the same results and the same message. the worst part is i don't even tell whoever is reading my cards that "oh, yeah that one fortune teller told me the same thing." these mfers literally pull cards out of nowhere and the combinations can all be different, yet the message stays the same. the deck and the method of fortune telling could even be different, but i just keep getting the same damn message and the same damn results...
that to me is so... it's testing my eDgY intp-t fr
but also ngl it's nice to know that the universe is on my side <3333
#ujutxt#now hear me out#i ALSO don't believe in the mbti or the enneagram#the thing is with tests like the mbti and the enneagram if you take them one too many times you can rig the system#like say i wanted enfp#i can literally just answer the way an enfp would if that makes sense#the answer combinations are so obvious#but tarot#that shit baFFLES ME#IN BOTH GOOD AND BAD WAYS#like in one way the cards themselves are so bs but in another way#the readers are basically psychoanalysts#they LOOK at you and infer how the basic archetypes of each card can be related to your life#it's also so#interesting?#to see how much improv skills you need to read a super random deck adn go “hmm yeah you have a bit of a wobbly path here in aroudn 2025”#then proceeds to explain how the hermit and the knight of swords together means i'm spreading myself too thin#like ???#that takes SKILL#even MORE skill when you're doing it to someone you've literally just met

SECTION TWO: THE VENUS SIGN
●・○・●・○・●
Aries - These people know what they want. Very decisive about what sort of aesthetics they enjoy, and they tend to stick to it. They’re all about being authentic and they want their appearance to reflect this. They love bright colors and flashy prints, especially animal prints. They don’t care if other people don’t like what they like. They’re not highly influenced by fashion trends like other Venus signs. They’d rather try something new and completely original. Obviously, they like to present themselves with a lot of sex appeal.
Colors: crimson, bronze, canary yellow, admiral, eggplant, hot pink
●・○・●・○・●
Taurus - The most likely to stick to fashion trends. People with this placement are probably going crazy over the “clean girl aesthetic,” because it's right up their alley. They want to enhance their own natural beauty. They enjoy the routine of self care, and you can tell just by looking at them that they take good care of themselves. They have an innate understanding of what's currently in, but they’re not experimental. They want to look pretty, not odd or strange. They’re also not trying to make any statements with their appearance, they’re only looking for admiration.
Colors: ruby, honey, dijon, basil, cerulean, mulberry, peach
●・○・●・○・●
Gemini - It's hard to define the aesthetic and style of a Gemini Venus because it’s always changing. I actually think this is quite exciting, and I wish more people were willing to try things they normally wouldn’t. They learn about themselves through the ways in which they dress. They want to explore their own identity. They’re not afraid to embrace the multi-faceted person that they are. They’re always changing up their look based on where they’re going, who they’re seeing, and what place in life they’re currently at.
Colors: blush, tangerine, buttermilk, chartreuse, sky blue, periwinkle, strawberry
●・○・●・○・●
Cancer - Being comfortable is important for a Cancer Venus. They pay a lot of attention to the weight and textures of fabrics. They might feel more drawn to high quality pieces because of the way it feels against skin. They love oversized clothing, and might even try to hide themselves through clothing. You won’t catch them putting on skin tight clothing just to look sexy. They’ll probably opt for more sensual pieces that move and flow naturally with the body. They’re also the most fond of outdated clothing trends and often bring them back into style.
Colors: garnet, amber, sepia, crocodile, ocean blue, iris, cherry blossom
●・○・●・○・●
Leo - People with this placement are on a mission to always look their best. They dress for an audience. These are “it-girls,” who are always with the trends. They garner a lot of attention and praise through the ways in which they dress. London Tipton vibes. The types of people who never wear an outfit twice. They love expressing themselves through their sense of style, this is something that brings them a lot of joy. They’re drawn to flashy pieces that make big statements.
Colors: carmine, merigold, sunflower, emerald, cobalt, magenta, punch
●・○・●・○・●
Virgo - Oof, these people get picky when it comes to the clothing they wear. They have a keen eye for detail and notice when something has been poorly manufactured. They have high standards and they put a lot of thought into the ways in which they want to portray themselves aesthetically. They’re all about accessories, which really elevates their look. They probably own lots of interesting trinkets that they use to adorn their appearance. They’re fond of handmade clothing, such as crocheted sweaters and upcycled fabrics. They can sniff out all the good clothing items within a thrift store.
Colors: sangria, clay, hazel wood, sage, aegean, grape, crepe
●・○・●・○・●
Libra - People with this placement are prim and polished. They understand the power of beauty and glamor. They can think of things that other people wouldn’t when dressing themselves. Perfume and the way in which they smell is important, they understand this influences how people will visually perceive them. They balance makeup, jewelry, accessories, and fine clothing all within one look. Nothing appears to be out of place. Other people are incredibly attracted to the aesthetics that they craft. They make it seem so easy.
Colors: rose, deep saffron, macaroon, pistachio, sapphire, lilac, rouge
●・○・●・○・●
Scorpio - If anyones going to have an extensive collection of lingerie, it's going to be a Scorpio Venus. They think about what they’ll wear underneath their clothes before anything else. Underwear creates shapes and silhouettes, and they understand how this influences the appearance of outer wear. They love it when clothing has intimate details, and they want their pieces to present a seductive quality. Leather, lace, and mesh are right up their alley. They go for looks that are dark, moody, and dramatic. They get a kick out of making people uncomfortable through their appearance, they like having that sort of power over people.
Colors: mahogany, spice, sand dollar, seaweed, peacock, raisin, baby pink
●・○・●・○・●
Sagittarius - These types are going to feel more drawn to athleisure in comparison to other Venus signs. They like to move around, the clothing they wear needs to support this. Someone with this placement might dress like they’re going for a hike everyday, even if they’re not. They don’t stick to the same thing all the time though, they know how to dress up for an event. They’re probably all about the cargo pants trend, they love having lots of pockets for storage. They're the most likely to carry around a purse with them everyday. Mini skirts or anything showing off their legs looks especially good on people with this placement.
Colors: currant, ginger, tuscany, moss, indigo, plum, magenta
●・○・●・○・●
Capricorn - The “old-money” aesthetic comes to mind when thinking about this placement. These types are incredibly chic. They’re trying to garner respect through their appearance and will opt for looks that highlight their elegance. They’re also very picky about what they wear, they won’t buy something unless they absolutely love it. They don’t pay too much attention to trends and are more drawn to timeless silhouettes. Much of their style is centered upon whatever career field they belong to.
Colors: wine, sandstone, beige, pine, navy, english violet, rosewood
●・○・●・○・●
Aquarius - They want to be the most unique person in the room and will use their aesthetic to achieve this. They’re not afraid to present bold looks and they want their sense of authenticity to be evident. They’re inventive with their style and are always willing to try something new. They don’t worry too much about the judgments of others, they don’t care if people think they look strange. They don’t participate in clothing trends because they’re the ones setting trends.
Colors: brick, cadmium orange, pale goldenrod, persian green, teal, heather, salmon
●・○・●・○・●
Pisces - People with this placement channel their inner fantasies into their appearance. They don’t set boundaries for themselves and will wear whatever inspires them the most that day. Their favorite tv shows and movies hold a major influence over their style. They can see themselves within fictional characters, and through this they develop their taste for aesthetics. Because of this, they appear otherworldly. Their inspirations are not based within reality. They treat their everyday outfits as if they were costumes.
Colors: berry, coral, pastel yellow, mint, arctic blue, lavender, ballet slipper
●・○・●・○・●
SECTION THREE: THE 5th HOUSE
Within this section, I used fashion designers as examples. However, the amount of designers with accessible birth charts is incredibly limited. For Venus, Mars, and Neptune, I used different examples still related to fashion and self-expression. I also noticed that Uranus within the 5th house was the most common placement for fashion designers. If you don't have any planets placed within the 5th house, I'd recommend using its planetary ruler.
Sun in the 5th House: Alexander Mcqueen

“I design clothes because I don’t want women to look all innocent and naïve… I want woman to look stronger… I don’t like women to be taken advantage of… I don’t like men whistling at women in the street. I think they deserve more respect. I like men to keep their distance from women, I like men to be stunned by an entrance. I’ve seen a woman get nearly beaten to death by her husband. I know what misogyny is… I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.”
provocative, romantic, regal, striking, theatrical, dignified
Alexander Mcqueen is a highly celebrated fashion designer who defined what fashion could look like for women within the 21st century. Mcqueen felt a need to protect women and did this through the clothing that he created. He knew that women were deserving of respect and wanted to present them in a dignified manner. Alexander Mcqueen's aesthetic demands attention, it is majestic and imposing.
Moon in the 5th House: Oscar de la Renta

“There is always an emotional element to anything that you make.”
delicate, feminine, intimate, graceful, gentle
Oscar de la Renta cites his mother and sisters as his greatest source of inspiration. He grew up surrounded by women, and deeply admired them. In turn, the women within his life supported his artistic endeavors and pushed him to embrace his creativity. La Renta felt that each and every women deserves to feel beautiful. He wanted women to embrace their personalities through clothing. He took the time to understand his clients on a personal level so that his designs would stay true to who they were as people.
Mercury in the 5th House: Betsey Johnson

“Making clothes involves what I like...color, pattern, shape and movement...I like the everyday process...the people, the pressure, the surprise of seeing the work come alive walking and dancing around on strangers. Like red lipstick on the mouth, my products wake up and brighten and bring the wearer to life...drawing attention to her beauty and specialness...her moods and movements...her dreams and fantasies.”
playful, energetic, quirky, colorful, unique, tacky
Betsey Johnson took the high-femme ideal and made it comical. Johnson wanted to have fun with her designs, and she wanted women to have fun when wearing them. She was all about creating sexy silhouettes rooted within mischief. Johnson describes her aesthetic as “pretty and punk.” Girlish elements juxtaposed with edgy qualities. Betsey Johnson was especially popular amongst teen girls in the 80s. Johnson was the one who crafted the stereotypical puffy, pink, 80s prom dress. Betsey girls embrace their playfulness because being sophisticated is too boring.
Venus in the 5th House: Naomi Cambell

“I don't think I was born beautiful. I just think I was born me.”
dramatic, glamorous, magnetic, exclusive, luxurious, sensual
Naomi Cambell has held major influence over the fashion industry. Campbell was one of the first black models to reach supermodel status, was the first black woman on the covers of British and French Vogue, and was the first black woman to appear on the cover of Time magazine. She challenged beauty ideals within society, and opened doors for other women of color. Campbell is the ultimate fashion icon and was a muse for many designers, especially Azzedine Alaïa. Campbell is now an editor at British Vogue, and her influence remains powerful.
Mars in the 5th House: Jonathan Jony Ive

“If something is going to be better, it is new, and if it’s new you are confronting problems and challenges you don’t have references for.”
innovative, crucial, unobtrusive, thorough, minimalistic
Okay, who is this guy?? I didn’t know until I started doing research for this post, but after reading about him I think everyone should know his name. Ive served as senior vice president of industrial design and was the chief design officer for Apple Inc. This man crafted design motifs that have held major influence over the aesthetic of the 21st century. He brought focus to all white color pallets, translucency, dark aluminum, and slate. Ive played a vital role within the designing process of the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad, plus much more. Ive believes that function and aesthetic go hand and hand, they are not two separate entities.
Jupiter in the 5th House: Vivienne Westwood

“I’m not terribly interested in beauty. What touches me is someone who understands herself.”
rebellious, independent, bold, irreverent, maximinimalism
Vivienne Westwood wanted her clothing to be life-enhancing, she put a lot of effort into developing the philosophy of her brand. She was also adamant that the only way a person could develop personal identity is through intellectual pursuits. Westwood claimed that carrying The Catcher in the Rye under an arm is one of the most fashionable things a person can do. Westwood believed that you develop style through the process of truly knowing yourself.
Saturn in the 5th House: Isabel Marant

“You can’t put together a formula for how to look gorgeous – it's a question of personality.”
nonchalant, classy, understated, parisian, timeless
Marant is focused on crafting clothing that will last for a long time, she wants people to wear her pieces for years on end. Marant doesn’t follow trends and sticks to classic silhouettes that will always hold relevancy. Her clothing has integrity, and she wants people to feel independent and strong when wearing her pieces. I also think it's interesting that Isabel Marant has a code of ethics displayed on her website, she is committed to holding her company to a high standard. This isn’t something I saw when exploring other fashion houses.
Uranus in the 5th House: Pierre Cardin

"The clothes I prefer are those I have created for a life that does not yet exist, the world of tomorrow."
futuristic, unconventional, sculptural, clean, revolutionary
Pierre Cardin is an absolute legend. Cardin developed the aesthetic of the space age during the 50s and 60s. He embraces the avant-garde and holds a love for geometric shapes and patterns. Cardin completely disregarded the female form and was one of the firsts to craft gender non-comforming clothing. Many of his pieces are unisex. His clothing is not practical, but it is thought provoking. However, Cardin did pave the way for our modern day athleisure aesthetic. Cardin crafted the foundations for athletic clothing, which was something not seen before his time.
Neptune in the 5th House: Sandy Powell

"Costume design isn’t about fashion. Fashion is fashion. Costume design is characters and costumes, so nothing to do with whether you’re fashionable or not, or understanding fashion.”
imaginative, whimsical, dream-like, eccentric, sensitive
Powell is not a clothing designer, she's a costume designer. She has won 43 oscars for her contributions within the film industry. You’d know her from The Wolf of Wall Street, Shakespear in Love, and Interview with a Vampire, plus much more. What makes Powell such a legend is her understanding of how character and story come into play when developing designs. She is not trying to make statements through her costumes, she is trying to enhance the personality of the characters. The costumes she's crafted are influential upon fashion trends outside of film. We all need a little fantasy within our daily lives.
Pluto in the 5th House: Donatella Versace

“I know fashion is not something that can change the world, but it can change the woman. It can empower the woman. It can make her strong, in herself, and to believe in herself more.”
seductive, dynamic, subversive, spectacular, powerful, daring
It is no coincidence that Donatella Versace became an important figure within the fashion industry after the death of her dear brother, Gianni. Donatella has faced many tragedies within her life. Within her own fashion philosophy, Donatalla tries to combat insecurity through clothing. There is no way a woman will ever appear timid when wearing Versace, and that's exactly what Donatella wants. Being a shy woman herself, Donatella is able to transform herself through the clothing that she wears. She understands the power of fashion, and wants to remind every woman that something truly fabulous resides within them.

One thing I appreciate conceptually about the prequels right, is that in the originals the Jedi are present archetypically- the wise mentor, the eccentric little hermit-slash-fairy-godfather- Luke experiences them as archetypes, they're mediating his whole view of this thing. Then we rewind to the prequels, the world is made to feel lived in, and it turns out that when there's more than three of these guys alive at the same time they coalesce into an institution- One of many institutions that had to drop the ball again and again, in concrete political terms, for the archetypical goodies-and-baddies evil empire setup of the originals to come into existence. Dogmatic, hidebound, beholden to politics despite their best intentions, and ultimately, doomed. Of course, where it falls flat for me is that when it comes to the kind of real life organization that the Jedi are referencing- actual monastic orders, religious institutions with state backing, and so on- all of my criticisms of those real things ultimately flow from the fact that none of that is fucking true. They made all that up. It's not real. When the Jedi get purged that is, within the logic of the fiction, evil triumphing over good, but when the Knights Templar get purged that's two different sects of grifter wrestling over who's got the God Ball that'll lend a veneer of legitimacy to their self-interested slaughter. Every single real version of the thing that the Jedi are, is a cult that outlasted their L. Ron Hubbard figure. Whereas in Star Wars, the entire thing is predicated on the thing the Jedi worship being basically true and the Jedi specifically having more or less the right stance on all of it. Very little of the story works if you don't buy that premise. And that sort of pre-emptively puts a cap on how effectively you can use the Jedi as the site of criticisms of any real analogous organization. When you're going after the Catholic church you don't have to frontload every criticism with "obviously they're generally correct, buuuuut-". Unless you are yourself Catholic, of course, in which case I think you are at any given time squirming with cognitive dissonance basically as much as is appropriate

Astro-Observations.
I realize having 2H-8H, 4H-10H, and 6H-12H placements is common for women. And being feminine houses explains alot.
And in that way, 10H would represent the martriachy while the Guru in the philosophical 9H would represent patriarchy.
I think Aquarius is the archetype of the absolute masculine and Pisces the absolute feminine.
I've noticed air pairs up well with water and earth with fire. Air understands intensity as much as water does. Where air is a hermit and water a healer. Also water recognizes air is crazy like pixie crazy, whereas being entertained by the fact that they're the lunacy crazy, but they only under-estimate air. 🍃 this psycho-active game is what keeps the two going. Fun pair.
Air and earth at first seems boring, but the more they peek underneath the unmoving stability and silence of earth, they realize a humor that's hard to forget. And because air is timeless in the end, earth with it's tranquility wins the air to earth. Air brings a breeze; and this becomes a tropical 🍹 love.
The stubborn unmoving nature of earth is well understood by the inspiring nature of fire.
----I believe any synastry could work, and should if it was meant to be, and not to leave anything to fate 🍃 but even the most difficult like 8H 💄 synastry has worked in numerous cases for different individuals.
---I think the 4H 🏡 as one of the angular houses is very important since it's home and home is where the heart is. And the heart is the store for all our spiritual and earthly treasures. So it would make sense that originally cancer was ruled by ♃ Jupiter the planet 🌏 of abundance 💰.
Generally Jupiter for a woman's chart denotes the "earthly treasures" through the 🕺 Husband, and representing foreign cultures goes to say literally the woman as a home maker is accepted native to all cultures, belonging to none and therefore. The 9H being where the woman gets a culture they'll marry into, men as suitors, and residents of the 9H house. HENCE the 9H placements.
As for the man ; the Venus position indicates where they marry from. Nature and background of the woman in their 4H.
Literally the only axis that matter for a woman are the ones mentioned above concluding 1H-7H, 3H-9H, 5H-11H, to be the ones that matter for the man. And so the placements in it, infact this is relative and common on most Natal charts.
The mars 💉 placements show our actions, traditionally represented by scorpio(feminine) and the Aries (Masculine).
Also Mars is where we get adrenaline from, things "energize" us, ENERGY. ⛮ Meaning for the men the (ethereal) appeal comes from how consciously awake they are, and for the woman, the transformation they can do, as home makers in building Inheritance, as well as "the shared resources."
----The 8H, of shared Inheritance goes ahead to be a shadow of the 12H 🌊 what proceeds the eternity of a soul. Where Venus is exalted in Pisces again making it the highest archetype of a woman, in being the "golden alchemist of love". Compassion. Women are Soulful according to the 12H.
And ⚙ according to the 11H the epitome of the masculine, men are revolutionary. Fathers of civilizations. And because it all fair in love and war. Love is also a feminine form of civilization.
Fire and earth belong together too, like air and water.
That being said all chaos return to order, and all order is born from chaos. Therefore each harmful aspect in a birthchart appears to be neutralized by a uniquely powerful order in the chart. I think that makes astrology a "divine" science.
Edit; am thinking Leos have to be self sufficient because they are primarily ruled by the sun. "The father" in astrology and therefore being the energy of sustenance it will and must show in them and on them in a certain way. "Boss vibes" 😎 ✅

I’m not super caught up but it is so clear to me already what Skizz’s path as a hermit is: he’s an excellent storyteller and is naturally gifted at bringing out the best in others, he’s absolutely hilarious at every turn, he’s unafraid to challenge himself and try new things, and he’s always eager to learn. He’s already grown so much in terms of building and redstone, but it is so evident what his archetype as a hermit is: he’s a game maker. His mind is built to see different angles and how little oddities can be leveraged to challenged people and bring them together to make meaningful experiences. He’s endlessly curious and driven and eager to grow. He’s going to make so many incredible things moving forward, I just know it.

𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔤𝔬𝔡𝔡𝔢𝔰𝔰 𝔞𝔯𝔠𝔥𝔢𝔱𝔶𝔭𝔢

[I AM FOLLOWING AYESHA K.FAINES RESEARCH OF FEMININE ARCHETYPES]
↳ the sexual feminine archetype of the mystic archetype.

♇ when your percentage of the lover percentage is lower than 70%. and when your personal score matches with your percentage goddess the most. [your lover archetype is dominant and the mystic archetype is the second dominant too].
♇ the goddess is one of the sexual feminine archetypes that belong to the feminine archetype the mystic, whereas the other sexual feminine archetype is the enigma.
♇ people who belong to the goddess archetype are perceived to be sultry women, women who have an ethereal and laid-back essence which could be considered hypnotic and mesmerising to those around them. they have a type of emotional manner that keeps the people around them at arms-length.
♇ when developed, those who belong to the goddess archetype have an emotional intelligence that could be considered wise, and due to this, they might appear other-worldly to other people. even if they're people who are emotionally smart, due to them being distant to other people, they come off as aloof, but it is usually because they're focusing on themselves.
♇ as majority of them are naturally introverted, they are people who like solitude and isolation, sometimes like a hermit. and most of the times, they like to tend to hobbies that help them search inward, such as meditation.
♇ though, even though if they're introverted, they still like attention, they like being surrounded by their friends and loved ones.
♇ their appearance can come off as striking and to pair it off, they have a personality which could be perceived as distinct. as i have mentioned, goddess women like inner peace, so they tend to be interested in spirituality, connecting to something that is greater to them helps them feel comfortable, safe and protected.
♇ their most private area, where they feel the most comfortable is their home. it helps them keep a grounded energy. people find their energy to be alluring and pleasant, and even more enchanting and people find them to be at their most magnetic is when they're disappeared from the public, specifically when they're a celebrity. a good example, is alexa demie.
♇ she is known to hide in the shadows a lot, and sometimes, well actually majority of the times, it has people wondering what she actually wants for her career. an example can be seen in this video.
♇ overall, goddess women are stars, even said by Ayesha her self, they're a star light years away, and only a few people can see their qualities.
♇ when close to their loved ones, they appeal and encourage their dreams and future wants. when they're closed to the people they care about, they're like a warmer version of a siren, which could be considered a "mermaid". a calm mystic essence, an aura that can make people want to be around them more.
♇ the description of a goddess woman can include them having a sultry voice and lush hair. they're women who take care of their appearance as how they look likely matters to them a lot.
♇ on one hand, they can become people too fixated on other things that cut them off from their comfortability. and since they are people who attract all kinds of people, one of them being curious individuals, they sometimes get overwhelmed and get into hiding. underdeveloped goddess women sometimes are not able to express their creative and "erotic" energy.

♇ majority of the time, goddess women are peaceful and humanitarians. they're likely feminists and stand for a cause. and when speaking to them or hearing them speak, you'd realise they're usually kindly spoken people, very articulate.
♇ other people might see them as a young soul, or someone who brings refreshing energy. artistic energies, when fully developed they can easily bring their ideas to life.
♇ they like things that touch their soul, attracted to things that help them understand their roots and are not afraid to face their inner-depths. sometimes underdeveloped goddess women might fear to face their inner-depths to please other people in their life, to be a walking matt for them.
♇ as i did more research about goddess women, i understood that they can be deeply in touch with spirituality, and like to be very private. other people around them could sometimes feel like they cannot or dont live up to their potential. and sometimes this could lead people into thinking that they're stupid.
♇ they have a dreamy way of speaking, and even sometimes drag out their words. when they dont see themselves as the high value they are, they could get into relationships with people that dont really fit with their political views, specifically feminism.
♇ when it comes to their clothing, they like to wear garments that define their personality. could like aesthetics that are dark or portrays their femininity in a "broken" way. specifically lana del rey. most of them are into the vintage aesthetic, and have a style that other people want to replicate. [gabriette and alexa demie specifically].
♇ they're very expressive about their likes and dislikes, and most of the people i've watched are into getting tattoos, or are interested in having things that make their physique stand out.
♇ most of them have a strong connection with their mother and make-up, and sometimes they might allow make-up to help value themselves.
♇ goddess women understand that women can be many things, and can express themselves in ways the patriarchy dont want them to be elevated in. as they're seen as glamorous, they like to look good as they're usually under the spotlight. many goddess women have a popular partner, or even if their partner is unknown, they could be a respected person with an authoritative position. sometimes their partners could be their complete opposite.
♇ whenever goddess women are under the spotlight, the usually get meme'd a lot, or just whenever they do anything people speak about it. they could sometime feel suffocated by fame.
♇ as goddess usually represents fertility, it's not a surprise that most goddess women are into having a family of their own. but even if they want a family of their own, it doesnt mean they dont want to work, as i did research, i realised most goddess women were/are into modelling.
♇ they like to pursue a route that gives them happiness, so people in their social circle could think of them to be stubborn. they're usually questioned for their ideas and how they embrace their heritage and roots, and since they're usually questioned a lot, goddess women step into a role of being self-aware.
♇ some goddess women could be into cosmetic surgery, and can be a bit [but almost too much] into heteronrimity.
♇ their intelligence and beauty could be envied, they're open about their sexuality and most people look up to them for guidance. when doing research about them, i realised that a lot of them have been victim of sexual shaming, [even though many people have been in general, this has also happen to some of my friends who do belong to this archetype].
♇ when it comes to their appearance, a lot of them have doe/bug eyes, have luscious hair, they also have an earthly and natural type of beauty, which can make them be deemed as elegant and graceful.
♇ they like to be prepared for anything, especially career wise. and women who belong to the goddess archetype like to experience almost everything with their partner. sometimes might be seen as someone who is smothering. on the other hand, even though they like to be around their partners a lot, they also like to be private.
♇ and in a friendship group, they might be seen as the mother of the group, or you could say leader of the group. can be into making food, and also specifically the art of it. unlike the mother archetype, they dont only/mainly do it for their partner, they do it for themselves, their friends and the people they care about.
other goddesses ↴

♇ goddesses i put above are eva peron, cindy crawford, dita von teese, jisoo, grace kelly and melania trump.
♇ understanding the goddesses archetype, is that it shows that they are women who are usually do focus on themselves, and can be so to themselves to the point that other people might feel like they do not know them at all.
♇ and to make the goddesses archetype easier to comprehend i gathered characters from different tv shows or films that come under the archetype.
♇ from yellow jackets - lottie matthews, lottie. is a big example of an underdeveloped goddess archetype, though it isnt necessarily her fault due to the trauma she has gone through while stuck in the wilds. she is a very spiritual person, and even isolates herself with other people to find herself. but due to her spiritual nature, people easily found way to see her as a leader and was advised for her guidance, during the time the team were stuck in the woods, lottie was seen as somewhat as a mother [not to be confused as the mother archetype as they are striking differences between the two]. she helps other people express their emotions and speaks about spirituality that could make other people uncomfortable.
♇ from the maden men franchise - betty draper, her character strengthens my idea that a lot of goddess archetypes are models, as she was a model for a print ad. she is a character who gets with a romantic partner that has authority, her romantic partner, don who is a completely different person to her, made betty express versions of herself that she disliked and wanted to change for the better.
♇ we have the addams family - morticia addams, for the fictional goddess women, morticia addams is a patron saint of what a goddess archetype is. her husband, gomez kisses the floor she walks on, morticia is a seductress and has a striking appearance that fascinates other people and makes other want to replicate her style, in real life [like vanessa hudgens] and in the show, wednesday. she is soft spoken, almost dreamy like and could be considered as laid-back and ethereal.
♇ from the postman always rings twice - cora smith, a mysterious woman who is married to someone who has authority, [an older man]. is perceived as a character that can also be deemed as an underdeveloped goddess archetype, who uses the love a man has for her to aid her to kill her husband.
♇ the fall of house usher - verna, another mysterious woman who does keep people at arms length, people come to her to have once in a life time deal, she uses her erotic energy to lure people in and capture them. she is wise, and has a calm essence that makes people comfortable around her. verna is prepared for everything and knows how to handle obstacles like how the two siblings, specifically the man went against her deal and hunted everyone in the usher family down.
♇ we have from the infernal devices and shadow hunter chronicles - tessa gray/herondale, like the other goddess archetype, tessa gray has a romantic partner who has high authority from the novel she is from. will herondale is the leader of the clave and is well respected. aside from that, tessa is usually under the spotlight because of what she is, and is seen to be someone who is serene, wise and has a warm energy that has many people want to be around her, but as she gets older, she does keep people at an arms length. in the early books, fertility was a big theme for her, as she was unsure if she could have children because of her being a half-demon. like a goddess archetype, tessa herondale has a grounded energy and has a striking beautiful appearance that other say is unconventional.
♇ from lore olympus/greek lore - selene, being a goddess herself, selene is someone who is respected and under the spotlight as she is a prominent and important figure for those who worship her, and like most women from the goddess archetype, she is someone who wants to have many moments with her loved ones, like endymion. a deity of fertility, she is someone who likes to keep in the shadows unlike her brother, helios who is considered to be flashy. selene has a personality that could be deemed as peaceful and timid like most women under this personality type.
♇ from the witcher franchise - yennefer of vengerberg, fertility was a big element to her character, as having a child was something she was not able to do, but with geralt, ciri was able to be her child surprise. and like the other goddess archetypes, yennefer is seen with a partner of authority/power, and it being geralt. her beauty is perceived as other-worldly, and becoming [beautiful], and powerful was so important to her that she constructed herself to become a better version of herself in a painful manner. there was a moment of the show, [i'll play the games later], that there had to be much internal search because she had lost her powers for a brief moment.
♇ next from legacies, there is josie saltzman - looking within herself was a big theme for her character, because she was known to be a character who was in her twin sister's shadow, lizzie for a long time; to the point that other characters had almost forced her to become a better version of herself, and even stand up for josie to her sister. josie was almost like a glass child. her main relationship, or most known one, is with someone who is the opposite of her, penelope, someone who had high authority within the boarding school she was in. even though josie is timid and shy, she is very emotionally intelligent, which is why people like to be around her a lot. she is understanding and empathetic.
♇ lastly, there is a character from winx club, aisha - in the show aisha is one of the main characters who gave advice to other people, sometimes she can be perceived as the mother of the group, [once again, to not be thought as the mother archetype]. when aisha was younger, aisha was isolated, which kind of made her into someone who is explosive and has a strong temper. and when. the series began, aisha was seen as anti-social, but when she is gotten to know more, the people around her are more aware of her open-minded traits.
♇ as i have done my research, i gathered that a lot of enigmas are are likely going to have capricorn, taurus and scorpio in their big six; in order of how much they appeared.
♇ they are also going to have leo, aries and taurus appear in their dominant signs; in order of how much they appeared.
♇ the planets sun, saturn and moon appeared in their dominant planets the most; in order of how much they appeared.
♇ the element that appeared the most was fire, second was earth.
♇ lastly, when it comes to the modality, what appeared the most was fixed.

How do you write a positive character slowly being more and more pessimistic? Example: Character is a sunshine at the beginning of the series but after something happened, they became less and less positive. How does the process look like?
Writing Notes: Negative Character Arc
Character Arc - the path a character takes over the course of a story.
A character’s arc involves adversity and challenges, as well as some changes to the character, and ultimately leads to resolution.
Character arcs generally progress in tandem with traditional three-act story structure.
Most protagonist character arcs start with the inciting incident that sets up the stakes and central conflict facing this character.
The way the arc progresses from there depends on what sort of story you are telling and how the character functions.
Negative Change Arc: As the name implies, a negative change arc involves a character starting out as good or benevolent and descending into evil or ill fortune over the course of a story.
Some Related Tropes
Face–Heel Turn: A good guy turns bad.
Fallen Hero: Not all villains are born. Some are made, and none are more tragic than this trope. As the name implies, the Fallen Hero used to be a hero before turning bad. They may even have been an Ideal Hero or another equally optimistic archetype, up until the moment when they suffered something bad enough for them to lose all faith in good and idealism, be it the loss of a loved one, too many good deeds coming back to bite them hard, betrayal by someone they trusted the most, too much distrust from those who should have been allies, or some other faith-shattering event. It might even be a drawn out process of seduction to The Dark Side or fall from grace. What they choose to do about it determines what they become:
If they retreat into themselves and fight evil mercilessly to dull the pain, they become an Anti-Hero, though if this fight is motivated by vengeance, they may run the risk of becoming like the very monsters they have sworn to destroy.
If the loss of faith with humanity and/or society and government makes them decide to do something drastic to "fix" it, they become an Anti-Villain, most commonly a Knight Templar or Dark Messiah.
Alternately, if they just jump off the slippery slope and embrace chaos and the destruction of humanity as the only solution to their pain, they'll become a straight up cackling Card-Carrying Villain. Especially those who only became a hero for fame and glory, rather than for any good cause.
Or they'll be a fusion of the second and third examples and decide that killing/destroying everything is the ONLY way to save EVERYONE from the pain/pointlessness of existence, often becoming a Straw Nihilist and an Omnicidal Maniac.
They might withdraw from society, become a hermit or drunkard, and ignore the ongoing state of the world. If the current generation of heroes meets them, the fallen hero will mock how their deeds are useless. Most likely, however, they will help the new heroes in the hopes that they won't suffer the same fate.
Or they can ditch all of their once good qualities and become a Complete Monster.
The Tragic Hero: A longstanding literary concept, a character with a Fatal Flaw (like Pride, for example) who is doomed to fail in search of a Tragic Dream despite their best efforts and good intentions. This trope can work as a protagonist or an antagonist. As an antagonist, their goals are opposed to the protagonist's, but the audience still feels sympathetic towards them.
The Protagonist's Journey to Villain: A plot in which the protagonist, who starts out well-intentioned, turns into a monster.
Used to Be a Sweet Kid: This applies when a villain or other dark and troubled/troubling character was not so as a child.
Examples
The Shining. It starts off with Jack being a happy family man, albeit with a dark past, until the influence of the hotel drives him to madness and monstrosity.
The Lorax (2012): A good portion of the movie sees the Once-ler telling Ted his backstory, how he went from a kind-hearted, free-spirited inventor to a Corrupt Corporate Executive character trope who causes the extinction of trees due to his greed. However, the Once-ler in the present day really regrets his actions and sincerly helps Ted to restore the trees.
The title character in Carrie (1974, and its film adaptations) is a kind-hearted, but socially outcast teenage girl who spends the first half of the book getting slowly beaten down and pushed to her Rage Breaking Point by her classmates, the school faculty, and even her own mother. The second half is about the massacre she commits as a result when what happens at the Senior Prom makes her snap.
Alexandre Cabanel's The Fallen Angel: Lucifer, once God's brightest angel, lies defeated and resentful after his jealousy toward human beings and power-hungry tendencies drove him to fight (and lose) a war against Heaven.
Arguably the central plot of Breaking Bad, which follows the journey of Walter White across five seasons from sympathetic, kindhearted chemistry teacher and family man suffering from cancer to a fairly loathsome Villain Protagonist. Gets briefly paused halfway through the fifth season when Walt, having reached the top of his empire, having taken his operation global realizes that he has made more money than he could ever hope to spend and far more than he even set out for initially. This leads him to decide he is out of the game, make amends with his former business partner by giving him the money he's owed and try to start over fresh with his family. Then his DEA agent brother-in-law finally figures out he's a drug dealer, causing him to slip back into his criminal ways and his moral degradation resumes. Even if he won't physically harm them, he's perfectly willing to throw his family under the bus to save his own skin like making a false confession tape implicating Hank or in Jesse's case, teaming up with skinheads to have him killed when he becomes too much of a hassle.
The Favourite (2018): Arguably the case for Abigail. She starts out a kind-natured Fallen Princess after her father gambled away both the entire family fortune and herself, so she sets out to join her cousin Sarah at Queen Anne's court in hopes of getting it back. However, as she is sucked into the world of politics and abused consistently by everyone around her, Abigail adapts to their cruel, underhanded ways alarmingly quickly, playing nice around Queen Anne as an antidote to Sarah's personality, faking tears when people push her too far, drugging Sarah's tea, seducing a Lord, marrying him and then all but dumping him once she gets her title back. Her cruelty finally culminates in getting Sarah officially banished from Court and intercepting her letters to the Queen, leaving Anne heartbroken, blatantly cheating on her husband in front of him, and finally stomping on one of Queen Anne's beloved pet bunnies (whom she views as surrogate children) until she nearly kills it. Queen Anne is not amused.
Les Misérables: Inspector Javert is on the side of good and law, but he is so inflated with extreme self-righteousness that, when confronted with Valjean's nobility, he has no choice but to kill himself.
In The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Archdeacon Claude Frollo is a compassionate man in the beginning, but after seeing Esmerelda, he goes mad with lust and slowly becomes evil, desiring to either have her for his own or kill her if she won't become his.
The Percy Jackson and the Olympians short story "The Diary of Luke Castellan" shows this off with the titular Luke, a villain-turned-hero who used to be a very sweet kid. Or, as in this chapter of history, a sweet teenager. He's brave, protective, and caring towards his little adopted family, to the point that he closely resembles the later hero of the series, Percy.
In The Witcher as seen by the flashbacks to his childhood with his "Ma" Visenna in the finale episode of Season 1, Geralt was once an adorable little Momma's Boy full of optimism. Completely unlike The Stoic Deadpan Snarker Knight in Sour Armor character trope he is in the present.

SAGITTARIUS RISING LEO 9H
watch out from mixing your own ego with spirituality cause spirituality and ego do not coexist. If you do that you will become like an authority in any belief you adopt. People will seek your council about their own spiritual problems.
CAPRICORN RISING VIRGO 9H
you embody "The Hermit" archetype in tarot. Spirituality for you lies in service, humbleness & modesty. The practical & spiritual go hand in hand for you, the mystical mixes with the "mundane".Austerity should not be taken to extremes. Charity is better
AQUARIUS RISING LIBRA 9H
