it is so good i have gotten to the point where i am imagining my ships in a similar situation and GUYS

They are both contestants trying to win the heart of this year’s bachelorette. eddie going on bc maybe his silly abuela put him up to it and he cannot disappoint her, and buck doing it bc he is just tired of going on tinder dates and not being able to find a real connection with someone, so he decides ‘fuck it’s and auditions to be on this years bachelorette bc he is also a silly romantic and believes in true love from these shows

and oh my god the bachelorette can be like . taylor or someone . ana ? ali ? someone completely random who they become bffs with instead? idc!

but guys please tell me u see the vision. if i was a writer i would cook this au up myself but.. alas.

Update on my June Books

Okay! I Hugely dropped the update ball but whatever I finished Project Hail Mary and it was Fine. Good book for a dad in your life. I started the Unbroken by C.L. Clark, and I'm not loving it so far but I'm trying to stick it out to at least 50% before I consider dropping it. I think the characters just feel so young? I'm not falling into step just yet.

I finished House Of Hunger, which I wrote a much longer review of on my Goodreads earlier this month, but again have to take a second to mourn the fact that HoH was so so short and underdeveloped. I wanted so much more from that because I really liked Henderson's writing style too. I also finished a pretty good essay collection called Hood Feminism by Kendall Mikki which was a good starter for people not familiar with intersectionality. On a date with my girlfriend, she pointed out Here for the Wrong Reasons by Annabel Paulsen and Lydia Wang. Which of course I bought on the spot and read in just the last three days. It was a delightful romcom rift on The Bachelor. Moving forward I'd like to try and knock out both the Unbroken, which I'm listening to on audible, and Annie Bot by Sierra Greer, which isn't too long so it might be possible if I do 50 pages per day. I'm not moving as fast as I was in January, but I'm picking up the pace a bit again after a pretty big slump.

Wanna give a quick shoutout to the federal judge last week who struck down the Arkansas law that tried to outlaw gender-affirming care for minors, not only ruling it unconstitutional, but including 311 statements of fact all going against the gender-affirming care ban in a ruling that was 80 pages long. Especially since these statements make it harder for transphobes to appeal and iirc this is considered precedent.

i feel like poolverine easily could’ve been one of those “they’re flirty but it’s mostly unserious” situations, and for most of the movie yeah they were extremely gay, but wade’s been like that with other guys and it was never treated as a serious type of relationship before. they’re willing to die for each other, but even then the romantic aspect of their relationship could be glossed over because it’s a superhero movie, that’s just what they do, and they’re working together to save a whole timeline—it’s not just about them. but then the movie doesn’t end with them saving the day and moving on. i think this’s really the part that sells poolverine as a genuine relationship to me… logan’s leaving, and wade calls for him. he can’t stand to let him go. then he introduces him to his family, and logan stays. he doesn’t really need to stay, but they’ve both decided they’re better off with one another than without

i think we need to understand the gravity of how quickly Percy blames himself and his disabilities for the way his world is. how he's been made to believe over years and years that he's weird, that there's something wrong with him. Percy saying he should've been paying attention. Percy saying there's something wrong with his brain. Percy calling himself broken.. he's just a kid man

look guys I'm gonna be honest--i love dogs but the tactile experience of petting a cat is better 99% of the time. Cat fur is so much softer and less greasy and just generally better than most dog fur. IDK if there's some ideal chinchilla dog out there that I have yet to lay hands on but man, dog fur textures are whack. Cats, at least when they're healthy, are so reliably smooth and silky.
