( for me , today is the Autumnal Equinox, and I really wanted to write a prayer to the gods as a way to thank them for everything they're doing for us , I hope they like it <3 I often struggle with writing my own prayers and I'm sure there's tons I could've worded better but I still wanted to share it with you , I hope you guys like it too )

I call upon you first , Lady Hestia, gentle keeper of the hearth and home, first & last of the deathless Kronides , whose flame burns ever bright , bringing us comfort and warmth . As we retreat into our homes you watch over so kindly , spending more time with family and friends in this time of unity , I honor you as the heart of all that sustains us. May your flame burn steadily in our homes and hearts, bringing warmth, unity, and love as the days grow colder. I honor you for the peace you bring to our lives . May your sacred flame burn brightly within us , o merciful goddess.

I call upon you, Lord Helios, radiant charioteer and god of the warming sun , whose golden light has blessed the earth through the long summer months. As the days grow shorter and your warmth begins to wane, I thank you for the life-giving light you have bestowed upon the world. May you , O Helios Hyperion carry us through the darker days, and may we never forget your blessings , and gratefully await the arrival of your blessed sister in the cold , long nights of Mother Nyx.

she ate an eyeball. it was oddly crunchy for something so round and squishy. it tasted like rot, but that was to be expected of many months old vulture eye she had been storing in her pocket.

the world seemed to pulse around her. buddy dawn stood in awe of her party's power, and behind him, kipperlily copperkettle.

everything froze. the roar of monsters faded into nothing as her heart leapt from her chest. the hafling held a loaded crossbow, aimed at gavin pundle. she would ruin their chances after all this work! she wanted to leap forward, to yell to her friends, anything.

and then, as if knowing kristen would stop her, kipperlily pulled a knife from her pocket. in one swift, unstoppable motion, she stepped forward, grabbed buddy dawn by the hair, and slit his throat.

and again, before she could do anything, a scaly blue hand reached through planes to take the halfling girl to safety.

she was used to combat, of course. hell, she had died on her very first day of school. but this was not combat. this was cold, calculated, filled with malice.

buddy dawn did not deserve to die, and he did not die noble. he died clueless, doing something out of the kindness of his heart, watching her friends in awe. he may have died happy, but kristen would never know for sure.

before she can really think she is falling to her knees. buddy lets out wet choking noises. he is not dead yet, but he will be very soon. there is no healing word or spare the dying that will fix this. she reaches gently into her pocket, but there are no crystals.

"shit!" she has blood on her hands.

"our revivifier is dead!" fabian, from the field, yells to gavin. she is frantically clawing through buddy's messenger bag. she fights the memories of her own leather satchel, holding the holy book of helio.

"oh... that's... unusual." gavin pundle sends concerned looks towards her and the very dead body of someone similar to who she used to be. before the doubt, before her friends, before the pain.

doubt. she gently reaches into her pocket, pulling out crystals as red as the blood on her hands. she hasn't solved this mystery yet, but she has some of the pieces. rage, a dead god, and a kidnapped goddess.

she prays. cassandra. i know i havent been the best cleric. i know i failed to protect you. but i'm trying, and right now i could really use your help. this kid, buddy, he's just like i used to be. and i know, i know he's good. he doesnt deserve this, not like this. what she did, it's not right. she killed lucy, too. please, cassandra.

Eloise…what a fitting name, derived from ‘Helios’ meaning sun in Greek. “Well don’t keep me in the dark now! Tell me about it, hun.” She sat down behind a wooden table, making full bouquets, each one telling a story. You didn’t know why you felt the need to tell her what had happened, but she felt like someone to lean on. Catching her up about your night, Lindsay telling you to get dick, hooking up with some random guy, faking everything, even about Jungkook. You were now an open book to her, she chuckled, cutting off the bottom of the stems, “Sounds like your friend was just tryin’ to help, darling.” “I know, but I shouldn’t have listened. I’ve had experience like that in the past, I should’ve known.” You spoke quietly, looking down at the chrysanthemums on the table. “Listen to me, life is about experiences. Good or bad, they make you who you are. And you can’t let this man take control of your love life just because he hurt you. You gotta pull your pants up and find yourself a nice man that treats you right in life AND in bed.” She smiled up at you, giving you a knowing look. Blushing, you laughed, nodding your head. You sat with Eloise, watching her make bouquets, looking at the time you saw it was getting later than it already was. “I think I’m gonna head out…thank you, Ms Eloise.” You smiled, grabbing your bag and making your way to the door. “Honey, wait! Take this, I think it’ll help start your new story.” She smiled at you, handing you a bouquet. It was made up of hyacinths; representing young love, lilies and orchids; representing missing someone, daffodils; representing new beginnings and gardenias; representing secret love. You took the bouquet, smiling gratefully at her, waving and bidding your goodbyes, you left. *** The bouquet sat in a vase on your kitchen counter, standing full and tall, proudly almost. You stared at the luscious flowers, the bright colours illuminating your apartment. It seemed almost chaotic, the bouquet, so many colours, different flowers…it matched your life. There was so much chaos, yet it was so beautiful. You brushed it off, but the thought still in your mind as you got ready for bed. Brushing your teeth, your phone buzzed; it was Lindsay. Girl I trust🫶: Hey babes, I hope the hookup went well 😏 You: Yeah, I love faking everything for almost two hours Girl I trust🫶: OMG NOOO Girl I trust🫶: IM SO SORRY!!! You: Honestly, it’s okay, I met a nice lady that gave me flowers You: So something nice happened at least The both of you texted for a while, saying good night and heading to bed. Something about this whole night was itching away at you, almost as if you knew something was going to happen, but you didn’t know what. *** With two coffees in your hand, you walked down the street, it was a thank you gift to Ms Eloise for the flowers and listening to your currently fucked up life. You made it to the shop, it looked even brighter in the daylight, the flowers looking their absolute best just waiting to be put into someone else’s story. You tried to open the door, but it was hard when holding two coffees. “Let me get that,” You heard from behind you, someone opening the door for you. You turned to smile and say thank you, but remained stoic when you saw it was Jungkook. Don’t let him ruin your life. You gave him a tight lipped smile, “Thank you.” You walked into the shop, not saying anything else. The shop wasn’t busy, but you could see Ms Eloise behind that same wood table, making beautiful bouquets.

The little ring of the bell alerted her someone came in, she looked up and gave you her gap toothed smile. “Why, it’s lovely to see you again, darlin’!”  

“Hi, Ms Eloise.” You smiled back, walking further into the shop. “I got you this coffee as a gift for the flowers last night. I hope you like it!” 

She threw down her scissors, hands raising in happiness, “Ooo, honey, you don’t know how much this means to me. I absolutely love it, thank you.” She took the coffee carefully, sipping it and humming in delight. Ms Eloise looked past you, raising her brow, “Boy, I thought I told you to stop comin’ in here if you weren’t gonna get any flowers!” 

The deep chuckle, the one you knew all too well sounded through the shop. “Come on, Eloise, I was just helping this lovely lady open the door! Her hands were full and you know me, I love to help damsels in distress.” Jungkook walked further into the shop, leaning on the table beside you. 

“Oh honey, if you knew this one, you’d know she ain’t need any help from you.” She smirked at him, then looked to you, sipping her coffee.  

“Trust me, I know she doesn’t.” He looked over to you, glancing down your body, admiring the sundress you were wearing. 

You stood there stunned, “How do you know each other…?” It was almost like you’d been hit in the face with flowers.  

Ms Eloise laughs, grabbing a sunflower from the table in front of her. “He likes to pop in every once in a while to bug me, he’s like a pest that won’t get off my flowers! Only thing is, he never buys any.” She raised her eyebrow looking at Jungkook. 

He raised his hands up in defence, “I didn’t know there was a problem coming to say hello to friends!”  

“There ain’t, honey, but you could at least fill my pockets a little bit! The amount of times you walk in and never do anything is incredible!” Ms Eloise teased him, placing the flowers on brown wrapping paper.  

You couldn’t help but crack a smile at their playful banter, laughing a little as well. You talked with Ms Eloise for a little before deciding to head out, needing to get some errands done. You said goodbye and walked out of the shop, hearing your name being called. This time, you knew who it was and you turned around. “Y/N, where you going?” Jungkook asked as he walked to catch up with you. 

“Just running errands.” You spoke, your tone was no longer spiteful or hurt, but calm and more confident. 

He nodded, placing his hands in his pocket, staring at your eyes for a second too long. He looked to the street, seeing others walking around, shopping and talking. “Listen, I wanted to apologize for the other day. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable with anything.” His voice was sincere, different from what you’ve heard from him before. 

You nodded, looking into his dark brown eyes, “Thank you, Jungkook…that’s very nice of you.” You both stood there, looking at each other, but not saying anything until you broke the silence. “I…I have some errands to get done, so I have to get going, but I’ll see you around.” 

“Alright, yeah. Have fun with your errands, Y/N.” He gave you a small smile, turning around to walk away, leaving you to walk your own way. 

How funny, you pictured the bouquet sitting on your counter, white tulips being the centre…forgiveness being the central part of your story.

Publisher JanduSoft and developer Halberd Studios will release side-scrolling Metroidvania game 9 Years of Shadows for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Q2 2025 for $19.99 / €19.99, the companies announced.

9 Years of Shadows first launched for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on March 27, 2023, followed by Switch on November 9, 2023, and iOS and Android on November 21, 2024.

Hmm, honestly the part I liked more was where I made MC a miserable wet cat so 😭

It was the short where I was gonna add all the terrible things the servants did to MC so we have miserable MC, Helios, and Hunter on stage:

Helios sighs, his voice cutting through the dark hallway adorned with flickering lanterns. "I'm hungry. I want tarts." Hunter chides, "You had those every day two weeks ago." The realization hits – the recent tart surplus is a result of Helios' past obsession. They're stale, their once vibrant colors now muted, their flavors a distant memory. It's the usual fare, carefully selected by the servants to amplify your misery. They revel in your discomfort, watching intently for any signs of disgust to call you ungrateful and other names. A bitter recollection of the unpleasant taste lingers as you swallow hard. "What did you have today?" Helios squints ahead, shadows playing tricks in the poorly lit corridor. "Not much. Some meat stew and rosemary bread." Stew and bread, if stored properly, should at least maintain their taste and texture. Maybe, just maybe, you will have decent food in a week.

002.  EXTRA ORDINARY

near death experience…  he was walking home from a party one night and it was a complete freak accident. the lamppost fell on him and he was trapped under it for who knows how long. the last thought he had before he passed out was how him and his friends had joked around growing up saying that the light was going to hurt someone one day since the city refused to do anything about it for years.

power…  he can create, shape and manipulate visual light. he’s still in the process of learning how to control all of his abilities. he only found out about his powers while he was in the hospital recovering from his nde and had no idea what was going on. he had just woken up and learning about his incident when he was finally left alone in his hospital bed to process it all. while he was staring off, he focused on one of the lights too hard and it exploded because he couldn’t control how long he was letting it go on for.

drawbacks / vulnerabilities… there’s a lot of eos power that he’s vulnerable to: glass manipulation, gravity manipulation, & darkness manipulation (feels very overwhelmed by this one). when he first learned of his powers, he had a hard time learning how to control them enough so that the light sources around him wouldn’t go on forever. he also cannot create light. besides all of that, his biggest drawback from his powers are the debilitating migraines he gets afterwards.

Character Intro: Auge (Kingdom of Ichor)

Age- 32 (immortal)

Location- New Olympus, Olympius (The Royal Palace)

Personality- She's a comfortable loner who values time to herself, but doesn't actively avoid people. She's self-aware, independent, empathetic, & loyal to those she cares about. She's aromantic and single.

Auge comes from a well liked family in the pantheon. Her older sister is Alectrona (goddess of the sun & morning) while her fraternal twin sister is Anatole (goddess of sunrise). Auge & her twin are part of The Horae.

She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of first daylight her other powers/abilities include limited photokinesis, limited circadian manipulation (as it relates to dawn), and limited aerokinesis. She's at her most strongest in the hours of 4 am through 6 am.

Auge lives in an apartment suite at the royal palace on Mt. Olympus. The interior design is a pastel daydream of blue, pink, light yellow, white, & lavender. There's flowy silk curtains, decorative knit blankets, and cotton furniture. On the walls of her bedroom, it's covered in wallpaper with a design of skylarks, sing thrushes, robins, & blackbirds.

She likes working the early hours at the palace's gift shop before it opens, mainly doing stock and inventory.

Notable features of Auge's physical appearance includes a septum piercing, understated make-up, as well as styling her hair in various crochet hairstyles which she does on her own.

A go-to drink for her is the homemade banana almond butter smoothies she makes. She also likes white tea, almond milk, ginger lavender iced tea, ginger ale, sparkling peartinis, & botanical beer. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean include a small iced tea, a large chai latte, and an olympian sized vanilla sweet cream cold brew.

After her quick shift at the gift shop, she'll spend the rest of her morning jogging through the main courtyard of the palace.

Far from the only divine pair of twins in the pantheon, Auge and Anatole are as different as night & day. Aside from when the group as a girl's night out, Auge prefers her me time, soaking in all the hours to herself. She finds it annoying when her sisters try to invite her out to spend time with the family that has two of the most revered light deities- Hyperion (Titan god of heavenly light) and Helios (Titan god of the sun).

She usually gets around through use of her bike and public transportation.

In The Horae, Auge is closest to Arktos (goddess of the night sky & constellations) and Nymphe (goddess of self-care).

A guilty pleasure for her are the hash browns from The Hearthside Diner. She'll sometimes order six at a time!

She loves the homemade brown sugar scrub masks that Nymphe makes!

Auge is a proud cinephile! Her home entertainment system is always in use through her extensive DVD collection. She also visits the cinema a few times a month where she saves the ticket stubs in a photo album. Auge loves watching dramas & tragedies- opting for films that are spoken in Greek. She's also a frequent visitor of the annual Athens Film Festival as well as some of the smaller indie movie festivals.

She loves when her big sis brings over homecooked meals- her personal favorite being the orange glazed fried chicken and fluffy buttermilk waffles.

Auge also frequents a beauty supply store in the Chant du Cygne neighborhood to buy packs of crochet hair, twists, faux locs, & braids.

She can't go to sleep without her plush stuffed skylark (which is named Toffee). Auge won it at a game at the Lunarworld Theme Park, where she went with Taygete & Arktos.

A go-to thing she loves getting from The Bread Box is the monte cristo sandwich along with a roasted quinoa salad.

In the pantheon Auge's also friends with Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence), Parnes (one of The Ourea), Ioke (goddess of pursuit, tumult, & battle rout), Nárkosi (goddess of sedation), Palioxis (goddess of backrush & retreat), and Taygete (one of The Pleiades).

She loves the Olmorfia's plushful pastel line of soft hued nail polish. Some of her favorite shades are "hue to the artist" (purple pastel), "powder pose" (a blush pastel pink), "white tea" (a light grayish white pastel), & "coasting skies" (a light baby blue pastel).

Auge loves snacking on her homemade trail mix of dark chocolate chips, chia seeds, sundried dates, roasted walnuts, and cashews.

Her all time favorite film is Μια υπόσχεση θλίψης (A Promise of Sorrow).

Daylight Savings Time is unofficially her favorite holiday!

Auge's aware of the slow growing MGM movement, but she personally doesn't mind her status as a minor goddess. She loves the freedom her status allows to live a mostly anonymous life.

She opted against modeling for Zeus' lingerie line Heavenly Spark. Auge's the only one of The Horae to do so.

She's been thinking about adopting a kid on/off for the past few years.

In her free time Auge enjoys birdwatching, swimming, reading, knitting, yoga, listening to music, scrapbooking, photography, going to museums, bowling, fishing, kayaking, and baseball.

Her & her sisters LOVE eating breakfast for dinner. Auge's signature dish is crab-and-avocado eggs benedict topped with shiitake mushrooms.
